Well damn. Firstly I wanted to say thank you for the DOTM nominations. They are very much appreciated. Secondly, I wanted to complement you on the amount of work you've put into this diary!! So much time and effort must have been spent, and that's one of my tips for a long-term diary. Put in loads of pre-work for graphics, layout etc. That way you push through those early writers blocks. And thirdly, kind of asking for permission, but basically just telling you that I'm stealing your coding for this:

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #cccccc; margin:10px;background: #F5F5F5; max-width:50%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";">

This box... is cool... I'm having it. Can you change the colour though??

Of course! It uses HTML colour codes, the first one is the boarder and the second is the background! I stole this code from someone else back when I was doing my SAISHO diary several months back and I just really love how clean it looks.

Good job folks, I hope I get to have some fun throwing wrenches into things haha! I've been told I book pretty unpredictable tournaments, but there's a plan behind everything.

I've always looked at him as more of a Tomohiro Iishi or a Shingo Tagagi, just a tremendous smash mouth fighter who defines what it is to be Puro. I like the idea of him being a Kenta/CM Punk type. It'll be fun to write him up.

Yeah I agree with you! :p I think its the flying forearm from the top rope and the render that made the connection to me. I can totally see Ishi in him as well. That's why I love the Cverse so much, you can relate the characters however you personally see them.

The Challengers Series 2016 Day 2

ivKV7Op.jpguMuwf5Z.jpgdlxtGul.jpge1ZykV4.jpg

Kiyoisha Tokuoka and Takeji Komagata call the action from their announcers table after a tremendously successful launch of the BCG Network, hyping up the action for the night, which includes the Junior Tag Champs being in action as The Kingdom takes on Kensai, and a great main event putting two hungry young heavyweight tag teams against one another.

Prodigy vs Mystic Dragon & Fox Mask

Just a great match to heat up the crowd for the action to come. Two legendary lineages vs two steller veteran lightweights teaming up for the first time ever to represent Lionheart. The veterans managed to keep the up and comers on their toes for a good portion of the match, using their knowledge and experience to overwhelm the youngsters. One near fall happened when Fox Mask managed to isolate Dark Optimus from his corner, scaling the corner and hitting a gorgeous Fox Hunter (Rolling Senton Bomb, think Whisper in the Wind) on him before Elemental IV managed to get in to break up the pin. Elemental and Optimus would end up stunning Fos Mask with a pelee kick from Elemental and a stunning rana from Optimus before taking him into their corner and using their experience as a tag team to work him over. Fox Mask would free himself by reversing an irish whip and sending Elemental crashing into Dark Optimus before tagging in his partner, who burst into the match to take the action to the youngsters, hitting flying cross bodies on both of them before getting caught trying to hit a suicide dive as they had rolled out of the ring and eating a double superkick for his troubles. They sent him back into the ring and Elemental launched himself off of his partners back to smash into Dragon in the corner before Optimus went to take out Fox Mask off of his corner, leading to Elemental climbing the ropes and landing a beautiful Inferno Splash for the pinfall victory.

Winners: Prodigy

Finish: Elemental IV hits an Inferno Splash (Frog Splash) on Crimson Dragon for the pinfall.

Match 2 - Tournament Match

tPJqb3g.jpg VS beVibY6.jpg

Black Cobra vs Velocidad

The Junior Heavyweight action would continue as former BCG National champion Velocidad met a taped up Black Cobra in the ring, the tape on the shoulder presenting a clear target. Even working through his injury, Black Cobra was still quite impressive against the younger star, trying to keep to the skies as he kept Velocidad reeling for the first portion of the match. Unfortunately his high risk tendencies would backfire on him as Velocidad would roll out of the way when Cobra went to suicide dive on him and Cobra took a nasty bump as his shoulder smashed into the barricade. Velocidad would use his criminally underrated mat wrestling skills to his advantage after Cobra had exasperated his injury, focusing his assault on holds and throws that would work over that shoulder. It's impossible to believe that Velocidad would have outwrestled the Stone Dungeon graduate on any other night, but with the injury he was forced into a terrible position that he wasn't able to come back from for the rest of the match. Velocidad would eventually force him to tap out by putting him into a Kimura lock and wrenching the strained rotator cuff until Cobra had no other choice but to call it or pass out. Medics came to take Cobra out of the ring as Velocidad had his hand raised. Velocidad would then go with Cobra to the back, making sure he was okay. Velocidad moves to 4 points, Black Cobra stays at 2.

Winner: Velocidad

Finish: Kimura Lock for the submission.

The Syndicate vs RAGE

The theme of the first part of the show seems to be exciting Junior Heavyweight action as another showcase of Junior Heavyweights take to the ring. Former two time BCG Junior Heavyweight Champion Marihito Masuko steps into th ring to start things off and as soon as he does Commander Kawagishi walks right up to him and slaps him right in the face, pointing to his Jaw and inviting the veteran to strike him back. Marihito would take him up on it, before grapping him and whipping him into the ropes and dropping him with a stunning drop kick. The action would only pick up from there as the six men did all they could to put on a steller match. Unfortunately for the youngers of RAGE, the experience edge of The Syndicate made the match an uphill battle that they were unable to over come. The end of the match came when Orange Tsuchie missed a moonsault on Narato, who dragged him over to his corner and tagged in Miata, who then immidately tagged in Masuko. Masuko went to the top rope as Black House took Tsuchie up for the Double Brainbuster and then blocked the other members of RAGE from interfearing as Mahito hit a stunning Shooting Star Press and then rolled Tsuchie up with the Masuko Cradle for the pinfall.

Winners: The Syndicate

Finish: Marihito Masuko Pins Orange Tsuchie with a Masuko Cradle.

Jay Chord vs Yoshinaka Taku

The two young heavyweights looked to prove themselves here tonight. This match should have been touted as a brawl or just a straight up fight, as both brawlers threw everything they could at one another in order to prove who was the best young worker in the tournament. At one point Taku hit Chord with a chop so hard it made him bouhce back into the ropes, which he turned to his own advantage as he used the momentum to put Taku onto the mat with a thunderous Lariat. Taku would only be down for a second though as he jumped back up to his feet and screamed in Chords face, "HARDER" Chord would run to the ropes again and do the same thing over and over, each lariat responded to with the same responce until Chord hit Taku so hard that he turned him inside out and Taku did a full rotation before hitting the matt. Chord's arm was completely red after this, and he tried to capitolize but Taku wasn't out yet. He would grab Chord's leg and move to put him into an Ankle Lock, which Chord would twist out of before standing back up into an elbow from Taku. Chord would respond with a punch to the face and the two would trade punches and elbows until finally Taku would stagger the young Prodigy, grabbing hold of him and taking him for a trip with the Full

Nelson Bomb for the pinfall. Taku would hold his hand out to Chord after the match in a show of respect, which Chord would accept after a minute, lifting Taku's hand before rolling out of the ring. Taku moves to 2 points, Chord stays at 0

Winner: Yoshinaka Taku

Finish: Full Nelson Bomb for the pinfall.

The Kingdom vs Kensai

The Junior Tag Team Champions and Greg Gauge entered the building to the deafening boos of the crowd, shrugging it all off as the Superstar and the Canadian Destroyer played it up to the crowd with their titles while Gauge berated young lions the entire way, throwing, shoving and punching several. This heat just made everyone more excited as the members of Kensai made their way towards the ring, Okamoto and Okuma climbing the ring posts and Vessey standing between them arms raised as The Kingdom charged and began to assault them before the bell rang, taking all of the wind out of their sails and causing another rain of boos. Stone and Marquez would throw Okamoto and Okura out to the floor and chase them out, continuing the beatdown on the outside of the ring as Keith began picking apart Vessey in the ring. The two second generations wrestlers were left to themselves for several minutes, using both of their impressive skills to showcase just what they could do as Vessey launched a fury of punches and elbows while Keith put on a wrestling clinic, throwing Vessey all around the ring. Eventualy Okamoto would try to tag in but Keith would dropkick him off of the apron, Okakura getting the tag instead and launching himself over the rope with a crossbody onto Keith before grabing him around the waist and hitting three consecutative German Suplexes on him. Keith would roll into his corner and bring in Marquez, who would show why he was considered one of the greatest wrestlers in the world today as he took to the corner and hit an insane moonsault before putting Okakura into their corner so that the heels could stomp away at him. The ending happened when Marquez took Okakura up onto his shoulders and Stone jumps off of the top turnbuckle hitting a missile drop kick before Marquez plunged Okakura to the ground. Stone would climb the ropes again and hit his Party's Over for the pin as Marquez and Keith continued to assault their other opponents. Several young lions would run in to try to break them up, and felt the error of their ways as they were also assaulted before Mito Miwa, Eisaku Hoshino and Funakoshi would run out and take out the heels, sending them reeling to the back and saving their stablemates.

Winners: The Kingdom

Finish: Edd Stone pins Pretty Okakura after a Party's Over (Coup de Grace).

Toshiharu Hyobanshi vs Mabuchi Furusawa

After the absolute Chaos of the previous match, the crowd cheered loudly for both men who made their way down the ramp as the two tremendous fighters prepared to go to war. It didn't take long after the bell rang for Furusawa to run and floor Hyobanshi with a lariat. The word War is the only proper word to describe this matchup, as a combonation of strikes, throws and holds were utalized by both men in order to really showcase their talents. Furubara's game plan was simple, work over the arm in preperation for the Furusawa Armbar, while Hyobanshi just wanted to batter hs opponent until he couldn't stand anymore. It would get to a point where Furusawa almost managed to lock in his finisher, but Hyobanshi would pick him up instead, bringing him up as Furusawa elbowed him in the back of the head. The two would trade finish teases back and forth until Hyobanshi finally managed to stun Furusawa with an intense eblow before taking him up for the Nova Bomb Redux, holding on and giving him a second just for good measure before scoring the pinfall victory. Hyobanshi moves to 4 points, Furusawa stays at 0.

Winner: Toshiharu Hyobanshi

Finish: Nova Bomb Redux for the pin.

ELITE 2000 vs PRIDE

The number one contenders to the World Tag Team Titles are joined by their leader Takayuri 2000 as they look to destroy the stablemates of the current champs. Yakuza look to play spoiler and Crimson Dragon looks to make up for his loss the other day on the tour. Unfortunately for the young masked wrestler, he is instantly targeted by the Machine Gun as Bunrakuken Torii starts to build steam early on in the match. Dragon is riddled with thunderous forearms from the superior striker, being kept on the ground and unable to use his ariel skills to his advantage as Torii refuses to break up his assault, only stopping when Kazunori Yamura runs in to distract him, allowing Dragon to quickly make his way to his corner. Yakuta is tagged in and the INSPIRE alumnai rocks Torii with a disgusting looking buzzsaw kick, causing him to be staggered while Serene K tags himself in to make the save for his parner. Kamisaka focuses his assault on the neck of Yakuta, as Yakuta focuses on softening the body with punches. They exchange blows until they can both barely stand, Yakuta hitting Serene K with one last big kick and sending him reeling as he goes to tag in Yamura. Kamisaka tags in Takayuri 2000, who unleashes on his opponent, the unfortunate recipient of the full attack of one of the best wrestlers GCG ever produced. Dragon would try to save his friend by scaling the ropes, but Torii saw it and was too quick, hitting him with a flying forearm as he was in midair and taking him out. Yakuda would run in and smash Torii with a big boot before bein rocked by a lariat from Serene K. Serene K would eat a spinning back fist from Yamura, but while his back was turned Takayuri 2000 would get behind him and lock in his Persian Deathlock submission move, causing Yamura to pass out in the middle of the ring, refusing to tap but ending the match.

Winners: ELITE 2000

Finish: Takayuri makes Kazunori Yamura pass out with the Persian Deathlock (modified Crossface)

Rating: 91

After the match The Machine Gun and Serene K would take Yamura and hit him with their tag team finisher, Takayuri throwing Dragon from the ring and grabbing a microphone to hand to Torii. Torii would call out Koiso and Kawashima, telling them that they'd better be ready, because in two weeks The Machines were coming for them, and they were going to leave The Tokyo Racecourse with the titles "Nobody's ready for The Machine Gun! Nobody's ready for The Machines!

Takayuri then takes the mic and tells the crowd that last December he pinned Magnum Kobe. Kobe had managed to hold onto his title when he faced Nariaki Hitomi at BCG Summit, but that only meant that he would have to now deal with the Leader of The ELITE. He had better enjoy his time with the Openweight Championship, because The Lion Rises would be the last time he'd ever get close to it. "I am Elite! And your time is up."

Magnum Kobe would show up at the top of the ramp and tell Takayuri that he had indeed pinned him on their last tour, and that if it was a title match he wanted, then he could have it. Takayuri 2000 really is a great competitor, but Kobe is better, and he has no issues proving it in front of 75,000 people. "You won in a tag team match, but one on one you'll learn what so many others have. I'm the best young wrestler in the world today, and nobody can stand up to The Glorious Red!"

Velocidad: I told you Cobra, nobody can bring me down. The sky is my home, and that medallion is going to be mine!

Yoshinaka Taku: That was one of the best matches of my career, but I'm only 24 years old. Just wait and see, I'll be in the final of this tournament!

Jay Chord: Taku didn't beat me tonight, I was off my game, but just you wait. Next week I'll put Velocidad out of commission.

Toshiharu Hyobanshi: Furusawa was an excellent opponent, but I was just that much better tonight. Expect more of the same when I meet Taku in a few days.

JMabuchi Furusawa.: I'm disappointed that I don't have any points on the board yet, but I guarantee you, next time I'm turning this around. Cobra is injured, and beating him will start my rise to the top.

Black Cobra could not be reached for comment. He was taken to a nearby hospital to have his shoulder examined.

<p>That Suzuki-Naito gif is what WWE wish the Lesnar-Undertaker "laugh" exchange was... Also, not to turn this into a gif-fest, but Nagata's little dance and facial expression while on the receiving end of those Machine Gun Chops at the final night of World Tag Leage had me chuckling</p><p>

<em>A man who was once the voice of WLW, now the voice of JHPW and a member of the BCG Network Family, Taka Kajiwara, sits down and talks with BCG World Heavyweight champion, Hiroaki Nakasawa</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p><strong>Kajiwara:</strong> The world is a strange place, isn’t it Mr Nakasawa? To see you sitting here outside of Burning Hammer as the champion of a rival company.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> You know, sometimes I sit and think about what a wild ride it’s been. Burning Hammer was my home, they were my family. I’m a two time Burning World Champion. I never thought I’d leave there, but with Kaneko anything was possible. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong> Was it a surprise to you to hear that he had been removed from power back in March, almost a year ago now, and replaced by Komine again?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> I’m not surprised that Kaneko is gone. He started causing a lot of issues and was just a terrible person to be around. I liked Komine, he gave me my first shot back in the day, but I can’t help but be a little surprised he’s back in charge. After the way Kaneko stabbed him in the back I thought he was done with the business. Good for him I suppose, but it’s not really my concern anymore. Black Canvas Grappling is the top company in the world, and Burning Hammer is no longer something I really worry about.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong> That’s very understandable. Is there anyone currently on the Burning Hammer roster you’d like to see jump ship?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> (laughs) You know, that’s really not a fair question. You’d expect me to say Kikkawa, because of course he’s the biggest name there and I’d love another crack at him, but no. I’d rather see guys like The Rebellion (Natsu Miyamae & Ken Shimedzu) or Kokan and Konda come over. They’re awesome tag teams who haven’t really had a chance to shine in Burning Hammer for a long time, but here in BCG the tag team wrestling is just insane. Imagine the potential of The Rebellion vs Kawashima & Koiso, or helping highlight a younger team like The Machines. Throw Kokan and Konda up against Total Eclipse or Star Studs. Those all sound like match of the year potential. If Kikkawa came over he would just be sorely disappointed when I destroyed him to keep my title. And at the same time that wouldn’t be fair to guys who have earned their shots like Takayuri, Kawashima, Cornell, SUKI, and any list of names from the company. We have a bunch of amazing talent, and Kikkawa would expect to be hotshotted to the top of the list.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong> That’s a fair point. How about outside of Burning Hammer, who else in Japan, or outside of Japan, would you like to get to work a match against?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> There’s a few people I suppose. I’ve never had the honour of working a match with Noriyori Sanda. He’s one of the best guys still in PGHW (who have had their own management issues as of late) and he’s only a year younger than me. We came up in our companies at around the same time and he recently got the big Glory Crown run. Too bad he destroyed his elbow recently, I hope he gets better soon. As for outside of Japan? I watch guys like Dan and Jeremy Stone, Duane and Edd’s brothers, and Steve DeColt over in RCW and I love what they’re doing. Same with (Tommy) Cornell and (Wolf) Hawkins in TCW. I would love to have a match with any one of those guys. I think it could be something really special.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong> Who do you think the best wrestler in BCG is right now?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> I guess I can’t choose myself? (laughs) How do you even answer that question? Koiso won wrestler of the year this year, so obviously he’s pretty damned great, but you’ve also got guys like Marquez, and then the young guys like Glenn, Kamachi, Funakoshi, King, I’m loving what I’m seeing from Torii and Okamoto, Keith and Gauge...I can’t even try to pick a best...But I’m the best. I’m the Heavyweight Champion. I’ve been pinned once in the two years I’ve been with this company. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong> Are you worried at all about your match with Takayuri 2000 coming up? </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> You know what, Takayuri 2000 is a great worker. I really believe he could be a future World Heavyweight Champion in this company, but it’s not going to happen this year. I expect him to give me a damned good fight, but when I hit him with the H-Bomb he’s not getting back up.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong> That’s fair. Going to go back a few years now, what was it like winning your first world title over Bruce The Giant?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> Honestly? I have two feelings about that match. I am very honoured that I got to win my first main event title against one of the legends of our business, it was a great feeling. Unfortunately because of his bad knees it wasn’t the masterclass showcase I’d have liked, and that’s my other thought. It was a bit disappointing in that sense, I felt like we weren’t able to give the crowd what they deserved. He really is a legend, and he’s not a terrible guy (though he could be a jerk) but I wouldn’t want to fight him again, I’d be afraid to injure him.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong>Is there anything else you’d like to say before we wrap this up champ?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nakasawa:</strong> I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for BCG. I’ve been watching a lot of the young guys over the past couple of years and this is one of the most talented groups of people I’ve ever seen. BCG is going to be the biggest company in the world, and that’s a fact.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kajiwara:</strong> I can’t disagree with you there. Thank you for coming and thanks to everyone who tuned in!</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A video on the home page of the BCG Network shows that a new DVD will be available for purchase. The DVD is called “Machine Gun: The rise of Torii”</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p><strong>Torii:</strong> I was born in a small town called Takayama, a beautiful little place where my father was a carpenter, and expected me to be the same. I chopped a lot of wood when I was younger. Maybe that’s why my chops are so good (laughs)</p><p> </p><p>

<em>The video pans the village before tag team partner Kamashika is shown sitting in a room with Torii, the now retired BCG Blood Brother’s championships behind them, as they were the last holders.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Interviewer:</strong> Do you believe him?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kamashika:</strong> Oh absolutely, I’ve been hit by those forearms. There’s a reason they call him The Machine Gun.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>A clip shows earlier in the career of Kamisaka of a match between the two of them on an independent booking before he was signed to BCG. His chest is raw from the chops from Torii, who is hitting him rapid fire. The video moves to Torii standing in an old school gym.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Torii:</strong> I remember when I started wrestling, we’d do it right here. I trained here with my friends, and I actually convinced Joshuyo to run a show in this gym when we were getting started so that I should wrestle in front of my mom. She doesn’t really like to travel. She’s going to be at Lion Rises to watch our match.[/b]</p><p> </p><p>

<em>The shot pans to a picture of a much smaller Torii with his mother</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Torii:</strong> I worked in schools and peoples back yards for a year before I met Joshuyo and King and they told me what they were trying to do. They told me it wouldn’t be much money at first, but when it took off I’d have a chance to make a lot more. (laughs) They weren’t wrong. I almost starved that first year, and now I just bought my mom a new house outside of Osaka so she can come see me wrestle.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Calvin King is shown, the name bar stating “BCG Talent Management”</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>King:</strong> I remember Joshuyo coming up to me and saying “Cal, you’ve got to see this guy. We need him.” And we got on a boat to Kanto and went to this tiny school, and there was Torii just tearing this guy’s chest apart with forearm chops like an absolute machine. We walked up to him after the match and told him he’s the future of Puro, and we wanted to bring him in. At that point he wasn’t being paid, so we told him we’d feed him, pay for his trip, and give him some money to wrestle a few shows with us to see what he thought. The rest is history. He’s one of the big reasons we did so well.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Footage is shown of Torii jumping off of the top rope and smashing King with a forearm early in their careers. King sells it hard for him.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Torii:</strong> In the early days there were so few of us. It was great getting to work with those guys and just getting to see all of the talent we had so early on, and especially now looking back. King and Glenn have won tag titles, Funakoshi is a multiple time champ, I’m a two time tag champ, Razan’s had 3 title runs, all the guys are just doing so well. Now we’ve got people like Koiso, Miwa, Nakasawa, Marquez...it’s hard to believe. Joshuyo would be insanely proud of us right now.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>A video clip is shown of Torii pinning PRIDE Koiso.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Torii:</strong> This title match is going to be the biggest match of my career, we’re ready. We’re going to win those titles again and prove that we are the best tag team on the planet by beating the best tag team on the planet.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>A picture of Torii and Kamisaka hoisting the World Tag Team Titles for the first time is shown before it blurrs out and </em><em><strong>“Buy The Machine Gun: The Rise of Torii, coming out March 7th."</strong></em><em> shows up on the screen before the video ends.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>Fox Mask & Omezo Shikitei vs High Octane</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A fantastic start to the show as former BotSJ winner Fox Mask teams with stablemate "The Omega" Omezo Shikitei to take on the team of High Octane. Masao Tsubouchi starts in the ring against Fox Mask, looking to prove himself against the veteran luchador and electing to use his mat wrestling skills to try to keep Fox Mask from taking to the air. Both men really are phenominal wrestlers and tbe veteran's edge was the only thing that saved Fox Mask from the assault of the youngster, who constantly attacked the legs of the veteran. Fox Mask would end up making a few key counters to get himself back into his corner to tag in The Omega, who burst into the match and hit Tsubouchi with a thunderous chop to the chest and then took hold of his arm and wrenching on it. He was completely zeroed in on the smaller man's shoulder with holds, strikes and kicks to the shoulder, trying to wrench it from the socket so that his Cross Armbreaker would be able to put him away, but Masao would end up hitting a moonsault off of the ropes and escaping to Samurai, who would hit Shikitei with a great flying forearm and a series of quick kicks to the midsection. The back and forth went on for a while until eventually Shikitei would tag in Fox Mask and boot Masao off of the ropes before smashing Samurai with a massive shin strike. He would lay out Samurai so that Fox Mask could scale the ropes and hit his Fox Hunter finisher for the victory.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winners:</strong> Fox Mask & Omezo Shikitei</p><p>

<strong>Finish:</strong> Fox Mask hits a Fox Hunter on Scarlet Samurai II For the pin.</p><p>

<strong><em>Jay Chord vs Velocidad</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Chord had something to prove here. It wasn't a pretty match, but it was certainly effective. Chord was clearly frustrated at his lack of success so far in the tournament and took it to Velocidad in a way we hadn't seen up until this point. The shock of the crowd as Chord laid into Velocidad and didn't allow him to use his high flying offence at all, starting the match by running up and smashing his shin into Velocidad's knee and targetting that the entire time. Velocidad was visibly shocked and in pain, and when Jay Chord put him away with a Cradle Piledriver it was seen as a mercy. Easily the most shocking moment of the entire tournament so far.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Jay Chord</p><p>

<strong>Finish:</strong> Cradle Piledriver for the pinfall.</p><p>

<strong><em>RAGE vs Kensai</em></strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<em>The crowd showered down cheers as two legends of the business, Mito Miwa and Sam Keith, met in the middle of the ring. As the match started they shook hands in a mutual show of respect before starting a slow and methotical wrestling match, filled with holds, slow chops and an emphasis on mat wrestling. It didn't take too long before the two of them went to their respective corners and tagged in some younger blood, Funakoshi making his way into the ring to meet with Tsurayuki Kamachi in a battle of the two former BCG Heavyweight champions. This was when the action began to pick up, though the crowd was hot for the entire match, as the two men fired away shots at one another, Funakoshi shrugging off all of the stiff punches and chops thrown his way. Kamachi would push the more muscular Funakoshi back to his own corner, where he and his tag team partner Hitomi would begin to really work over the Embodiment of Puroresu, isolating him and not allowing him to get back to his corner. This would work for a while until he caught Hitomi with a massive elbow to the face before flooring Kamachi with a thunderous lariat. He would get to his corner and tag in Hoshino, who would fly into the match and wipe the two out, Sam Keith tagging himself back in in a questionable move as Hoshino beat the hell out of the older man before bringing Funakoshi back into the match. Funakoshi would take Keith up and hit him with the Butterfly Backbreaker for the pin and the win.</em></p><p>

<em>After the match Kensai head to the back and Edd Stone, Matthew Keith and Greg Gauge hit the ring, the sons of Sam Keith taking out Hitomi Kamachi and Tsurayuki Kamachi with baseball bats while Stone goes after the much older Keith. He wipes him out with a drop kick and then stomps his head into the mat as his sons watch on, taking a microphone and laying down on the mat beside Sam Keith. </em><em><strong>"The Kingdom is taking over, we're the here and now, and you're old news...so at The Lion Rises, I'm going to take you out once and for all.</strong></em><em> He swaps to speaking Japanese so that none of the gravity of the situation is missed. </em><em><strong>"Lion Rises, Keith vs Stone, I will retire you, I will END YOU!"</strong></em><em> Stone then climbs the ropes and hits a devestating Party's Over on Keith before he and the Gauge Brothers leave the members of RAGE lying in the ring for the young lions to help out.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>Black Cobra vs Mabuchi Furusawa</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Cobra was clearly still not well as he hadn't been allowed proper time to recover, his trip to the hospital surely still fresh in his mind as he tried to slow down the match much more than he normally would. Mabuchi Furusawa would press the advantage and work over the shoulder. It was very unfortunate to see Cobra in this kind of shape, as it was clear that the match wasn't going to go his way from the beginning. You could tell that Cobra was done when as soon as Furusawa went to lock in his Furusawa Armbar, Cobra tapped out, not wanting another trip to the hospital and choosing to not make his injury worse than it already was. Furusawa would help him up and walk to the back with him.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winner:</strong> Mabuchi Furusawa</p><p>

<strong>Finish:</strong> Furusawa Armbar for the submission.</p><p>

<strong><em>BAKUHATSU vs The Syndicate</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>At the beginning of the match, the World Heavyweight Champion and the Openweight Champion stood across from one another, intensity on both of their faces as Magnum Kobe looked for a chance to take on the veteran, and Hiroaki tried to knock the cocky youngster down a peg. There were no wasted movements, no down time at all, this was an intense match from end to end. Kobe would hit a KOBE Bomb on Hiroaki, which he would kick out of after two. Horiaki would hit an H-Bomb on Kobe which he would be saved from by Emerald Angel, who would then tag into the match and explode onto the champ. Saito would come to meet Angel and the two would brawl until Miyamoto would burst into the match and push Saito back, who was forced to tag in Sakai. There were finishers teased across the match as everyone burst into hit theirs until finally Miyamoto would stand alone only to have Nakasawa show up behind him and stun him before hitting the Super Nakasawa H-Bomb for the win. He would move to put the boots to Miyamoto but Magnum Kobe would come in for the save and hit a Magnificent Red on the Heavyweight Champ, causing him to roll out of the ring and make his way to the back.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winners:</strong> The Syndicate</p><p>

<strong>Finish:</strong> Hiroaki Nakasawa hits Miyamoto with a Super Nakasawa H-Bomb for the pin.</p><p>

<strong><em>Toshiharu Hyobanshi vs Yoshinaka Taku</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Going into this matchup nobody gave Yoshinaka Taku losing a second thought against the veteran, but that seemed to only push the youngster to step up to a new level. He took the fight right to the veteran and absolutely lit him up with strikes, firing shot after shot at an impressive speed and stamina level. He would keep Hyobanshi reeling until the big bruiser would start to fire back shots of his own, the brutality of the strikes from Hyobanshi undeniable. He would eventually make Taku's chest begin to bleed after a handful of chops, but Taku would simply show off his wound to the veteran, inviting him to strike him again, to which Hyobanshi would ablige the youngster. The match had great back and forth action until the natural and obvious finish happened as Hyobanshi took Taku up for the Nova Bomb Redux for the pinfall. The crowd was chanting Taku's name and Hyobanshi lifted his hand after the match.</em></p><p>

<strong><em>Kawashima & Koiso vs Total Eclipse</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>A legitimate Match of the Year contender that could headline any major event, the former Junior Tag Team champions looked to show why they should have been named Tag Team of the Year as they took on the veteran team of Kawashima and Koiso. The veterans were smart enough not to turn their backs to the youngsters, knowing their tricks and when the bell rank the Wrestler of the Year PRIDE Koiso stood up to the Junior Heavyweight Champion Calvin King. Too many highlights to list here, the two phenominal strikers turned each other red, King making PRIDE reel after a sickening set of Shin Strikes, but Koiso fired back and pushed King into his corner with a set of tremendous Lariats. The two would tag their parters in, Glenn and Kawashima exploding into the match with just as much passion as the other two. Kawashima would gain the advantage over Glenn, hitting a Double K Killer for a 2 count before tagging Koiso back in. The two would go to hit Glenn with a double piledriver, but he would manage to grab the ropes and free himself, pulling himself away and tagging in King, who would smash Kawashima with a running knee to the face and then hit his spinning back eblow on Koito, whipping him back into his corner as he tagged Glenn back in. Glenn would land his Showstealer Super Kick on Koiso to drop him to his knees, and the two of them would run the ropes and crash their shins into his head for the darkness falls as KC Glenn would pin PRIDE Koiso for the win.</em></p><p>

<strong>Winners:</strong> Total Eclipse</p><p>

<strong>Finish:</strong> KC Glenn defeats Pride Koiso with a Darkness Falls (double shin strike to the sides of the head)</p><p>

<strong>Jay Chord:</strong> I told everyone I was the best in the world, and tonight I made Velocidad a victim. Never count out Jay Chord.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yoshinaka Taku:</strong> Everyone thought I was going to lose tonight, but I pushed Hyobanshi to his limit. I'm the future.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Toshiharu Hyobanshi:</strong> Taku is an amazing young worker and it was great to get to work with him tonight. I'm now one victory away from the finals, and nobody is going to stop me.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mabuchi Furusawa.:</strong> There's no honour in beating down a wounded foe. I look forward to facing Cobra again when he's healthy.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Black Cobra:</strong> I hate being in this position where I can't fight at my top level. I'm going to do all that I can to turn this around.</p><p>

I'm so sorry that you all love Black Cobra. This was a bad time for him, he got a lovely injury before this.</p><p> </p><p>

Siah and DarK_RaideR, I am introducing 2 more Midcard titles to my roster. Please select 4 people each (who are not in this tournament, aren't currently champions, and aren't Takayuri 2000, The Machines, or Emerald Angel) to fight over them!</p><p> </p><p>

Please excuse my terrible Edd Stone edit. Don't zoom in and it's not so bad!</p>
