Well... I've been busy.

This mod is crazy insane!

Ok, so if you've played some of my earlier versions of this mod then you know the drill. This here's a fantasy mod loosely, somewhat very loosely, based on reality. I originally started it in January 2007 because that's the year TNA's knockout division started getting off the ground. I like the timeframe because it's a time where some of the earlier names aren't too old yet, and some of today's names have yet to come onto the scene. So that's my thought process behind it.

WWE's roster includes every woman that wrestled there from the mid-90s (Chyna, Madusa, Trish, Lita) up to around the diva search contestants of 2007. This version includes AJ and Kaitlyn on the main roster just to beef up the numbers. The roster's popularity ranges between the 30's and mids 70's at the start of the game. The roster totals at about 50 active workers at the start. WWE also has the Performance Center essentially functioning to funnel modern day talent through the WWE system. New to this version of the mod is a randomly generated (unless under player control) brand split at the beginning of the game with a major, minor, and tag title on each brand's show as well as a major and minor show. There is also a collective minor show held on Saturdays.

NXT is in the game as sort of a staging ground for the women who debuted after 2007 and are at least 18 at the start of the game. Becky, Charlotte, Asuka, Naomi, ect are all baking in the oven here. Performance Center graduates will be funneled into here as well upon turning 18 and entering the game.

TNA starts with a small roster of all the women who wrestled/performed there from it's inception up into 2008 and a little beyond. Basically the timeframe from before Mickie, Tara, and Winter came over from TNA. They have a major, tag, and two minor titles. They also have a major and minor TV show.

WCW has returned (or at least their assets have) and has been converted into Women's Celebrity Wrestling and is located in the South West. It has very large roster of more established celebrities ranging between the 30's and mid 70's in popularity. The WCW Power Plant has returned as well and functions to funnel debuting celebrities through the WCW farm system. WCW is also designed to randomly generate a brand split for their Nitro and Thunder brands. Likewise WCW brands each have a major, minor, and tag title as well as a major and minor show. There is also a collective minor show on Saturday competing with WWE.

New to this Version is the return of NWA Wildside as the WCW developmental territory. After adding in hundreds of celebrities the WCW roster had gotten so bloated I needed to split it up. So Wildside is back, and has a roster consisting of popular, but still young, celebrities. Power Plant graduates will be funneled through Wildside as well.

ECW has returned as the land of the unestablished c-listers. Essentially celebrities who's careers haven't transcended the small screen, or maybe had one big hit and then faded from public consciousness. This roster is a bit bloated for the size of the company so I may do something here but it also works out well organically since their roster, as was the case with the real life ECW, seems to get plundered regularly. To compensate for the bloated roster I made a second "A" show for ECW so that the talent has more opportunities to perform. ECW also has a dojo functioning to funnel lower tiered celebrities to their promotion. Unlike WWE and WCW however, ECW does not have a development territory at the start of the game.

There are 42 promotions in all, 25 or so active at the start of the game.

As for the cuts, I'm really pleased with the quality of all the recent cuts over the last year or so. I've come a long way with Gimp. There are custom cuts for both real life workers and celebrities in the custom pack. Even if you don't play this mod you'll for sure get use out of the pack if you still use the KyKy background. The full pack is a collection of KyKy assets I've amassed over the years combined with my custom cuts. The Loading Screens are pretty quick and easy to make so I threw a bunch together.

This particular database is nerfed more than any other recent database. The AI is booking the major shows for WWE and WCW around the mid to upper 70s.

A handfull of main eventers in each of the top promotions were given 3-4 year contracts to start out so as to maintain somewhat of an identity in the early game. There was far too much jumping around in previous versions. All except ECW, since their roster is meant to be raided. Also, all the talent in NXT and Wildside are under developmental deals set from 18 months to two years depending on if they're upper or lower card talents. So, they'll be baking for a bit before they come out the oven ready to steal the show.

As for the future, I imagine I'll keep working on more cuts and possibly loading screens since I like a fresh looking game to break up the monotony. Maybe I'll add another celebrity here and there if there is a request, but as for me, I'm considering this project largely finished. Chances are pretty good though that if you have someone in mind they're already included.

If you like the mod, let me know. If you don't, but like the idea, take it and do what you want to make it better. I'm really pleased with it now and am looking forward to mostly playing it instead of building it now.

Enjoy.

*Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the KyKy library of cuts over the last two decades*

Hey, first off, the amount of cosmetic work put into this mod is great, not going to deny that.

However, going to give you a compliment sandwich here and say, thematically and immersion wise, some of the celebrity placements don't make much sense in terms of who they are and how they're crafted. I know you were mostly looking at "is this person popular or not". But in an alternate timeline, things sort of have to make sense. I personally think you should be taking personal and company image into account when deciding where people go (Example: "Hardcore/Altish/Tomboyish ends up in ECW, More "Starlet" types end up in WCW"). It's however, not my mod, but I just wanted to give some constructive criticism. Basically, I'd just make where people are placed matter rather than just shoving them willy nilly.

I really do appreciate the work you put into this however, modding is a hard task overall so I understand why you wouldn't of taken it into account. I hope you consider bringing this into TEW 2020 and/or take my criticism in mind. It's a good mod, but I feel like it could be brought to something genuinely great with a bit more thought to it.

LOL, anyway all sorted out now.</p><p> </p><p> As for their personality, or the roles they tend to play, your idea certainly works except some of these celebrities I was completely obvious as to who they were. I just happened to lift a bunch of pngs someone else had cut from another site and so I added them in. There's actually still a lot of cuts I made that don't belong to anyone because after a while I stopped adding people because both WCW and ECW's rosters had become so bloated. </p><p> </p><p> Thanks again for the feedback. I want to create multiple version. I had an earlier version set in 2010. So I'll keep this in mind when I upload alternates. And yes, I do intend to port it to 2020 when it releases.</p>

What a breath of fresh air this mod is. It seems like every mod I boot up has my attention for about 15 wrestlers, then I get so mad that their stats are so ridiculously bad I want to punt a puppy (and I'm one of the biggest dog lovers around). So thank you for actually having women outside of WWE have good stats. This mod understands that a game is about having fun and not "Thou shall be forced to grind for 6-12 months to accomplish anything and/or Our pop levels haven't been adjusted for 6 months so a lot of people that are being pushed irl can't be because they're openers."

I do hope you clean up the broadcasters as you've got a lot of duplicates but it doesn't matter. Personally, 3 B shows like WCW has is too many, but I understand why you left Saturday Night in there. Ashley Benson is dating Cara "I can't act to save my life" Delavine so hetero isn't accurate. Was Shay Mitchell one of the ones improperly gendered? It was odd that 2 of the PLL people were in but she wasn't.

But again, thanks for putting out a fun mod.

Oh, it's an accurate picture of Ashley Tisdale, but she looks exactly like Ellie Goulding in it so it's slightly confusing. I'm sure you've got a bunch of alternates I can switch to though.

YeeeHaw83, this is an absolutely fantastic mod. I can see a lot of work and time has gone into this and it has grasped my attention. I'll certainly give some further feedback once I'm a little further into my game, but right now, I'm just having fun with it.

smartman, I'm not going to fill YeeHaw83's post with negativity but I do suggest you praise another mod without resorting to childish digs at other peoples work. It isn't needed.

Again, YeeHaw83, keep up the good work!

Wow! That means a lot coming from you Fleish! It was the work of yourself and others, like theWho, that have kept this game fresh and interesting for so many and inspired me through the years. I spent many iterations of the game just slapping together work from yourself and others to play the kind of mod I had in mind. Only in recent years as it occured to me to really put the effort into building and releasing something like this for others to enjoy.

Obviously the mod is unpolished in some areas as I didn't put a lot of custom work into the supporting assets like broadcasters, gimmicks, moves and whatnot. But I'm sure I'll get around to it in the future.

I agree with taking shots at other's work. If you don't like something someone has done do what I did and change it. Or make your own mod or variant. We all have the editor right?

I can speak from experience that it's worth the effort once you finally get to play the mod of your liking.

Thanks! I too enjoy a game that's rewarding earlier on as well though I do still enjoy the grind as well. For me the enjoyment comes from being able to sandbox as much as it does progression. I tried to be generous enough with the stats to maintain some feel of progression and reward but also to compensate for the fact that men aren't active workers in the mod and thus can't be relied on to carry the card or a promotion.

I also wanted somewhat of an identity for each promotion too. So WWE has a number of capable workers mixed with a plethora of green diva search contestants and models, some of whom have more potential than others. TNA has workers that have less popularity overall but are somewhat more capable in-ring talents as a general rule. The celebrity promotions are given more modest in ring stats since it is assumed they have less training and experience in the ring but are given generous entertainment stats because of the industry they're coming from. So on and so forth. As for Indy talents, I wanted to have a mixed bag there as well. There are plenty of talented and serviceable workers in Indy promotions and who start the game unemployed. One of the reasons I started the ECW roster on written deals was to keep the market from being flooded with their roster who undoubtedly would get PPA deals in the indy promotions over Indy talent.

As for the broadcaster duplicates. Thanks for letting me know. Admittedly this mod is going to lack the polish of some of the more established mods we're all accustomed to. One of those ways in which it is unpolished are all the supporting characteristics of the game like Broadcasters, Gimmicks, Moves, Move sets, Etc. where I relied heavily on importing from a plethora of work, some dating back to 3-4 installments of the game. Hopefully I'll get time to clean that up as well.

Concerning relationships I purposefully chose to not spend time on that. One of the reasons is female workers can get pregnant and I wanted to avoid that at the start of the game. So for that reason nobody starts in a relationship. The three workers I added that I forgot to set to female were Rachel McAdams, Kate Winslet, and Gabriella Wilde. It's a fantasy mod loosely based on reality so I feel as if I can allow myself to take some liberties when it comes to imitating real life.

Also, one of the things I do is autobook the "B" shows if I want to just move along faster. The AI generally only uses midcard and below and the rosters are so large that most of the manual work you are doing will likely be with the uppercard anyway. Feel free to eliminate a show in the editor if it suits you.

Weird, I don't mention any names just that that seems to be the community's established ideas on how mods should be a grind and getting 90s early on means the mod "Isn't good" (which dates back to partially why we don't have Cpt. Charisma making mods anymore so again, this theory that mods should produce a grind isn't a TEW2016 thing or any single mod maker's issue), and a mod maker seems to think I'm slamming him. I'm merely pointing out an issue with the community's group-think ahead of the launching of TEW2020 which is supposed to make mods much easier to make. Hopefully, alternative views will be pushed and not ripped to shreds as they have in the past (I've been around since the beginning so I'm talking more than just 2016 here). And yes, the editor is there, but I'm not spending 4+ hours fixing everyone the same as I'm not rewriting an author's book.

All I was doing was congratulating someone on making a mod where fun can be had as I thought that should be noted given the above paragraph. So, thank you for all the work you put into it. I hope it gets played by a lot of people, and if someone posts their matches or cards in the screenshot post, the mod doesn't get attacked by that community group-think.

If I find anything else that could be cleaned up, I'll mention it. Otherwise, I'm just going to have a blast playing a new mod that has fun as its goal. So, three cheers for Yeehaw83!

I think that's fair. I too have noticed, like any community, that groupthink can become overburdensome. I think w/ this mod being such a ridiculous idea, that hopefully people won't take it as seriously as say a real-life mod trying to capture every ounce of realism that it can. I can't imagine the amount of research, thought, and detail that goes into a project like that.

I think for most people this won't be a primary mod, probably just something to play that's a fun change of pace from the more serious and well established mods that are such a grind.

The zealotry people have shown here through the years for the way things aught to be modded is why I'm just throwing this out there and saying have at it. I honestly would love for this to become a community project.

So if anyone wants to add to, alter, or use this mod for a base to build something else please do. Post your alternates here and I'll be glad to add them to the OP. I'll likely, after some time, work on a few alternates of my own. Have even dabbled with the idea of making a variant of this mod with suppressed stats and popularity so that players who do enjoy the long grind can have a version of this mod that gives them that too. Something along those lines requires some testing so that everything is balanced right (show grades/broadcaster req, and things like that). I also like 2010 as a good start year because a lot of today's talent were born in 92 (Sasha, Alexa, Paige). So look for another 2010 variant of this mod in the coming months.

I didn't say you were slamming me - and if you were it wouldn't really bother me as in the grand scheme of life, it isn't important. I've got plenty of people who like my work so I've no insecurities. I apologise if I misinterpreted what you meant, it just seemed like you were having a dig at all the other mods out there that people have worked hard on.

My thought (not a group one by any means) is that a mod should be created by the modmaker as something they themselves would like to play. I always believe the more fun you have creating the mod, the better it will be. You will always have those who love your mods, or those who hate them - it's par for the course.

Anyway, again, sorry if I misinterpreted - and yes, I do believe YeeHaw83 should be cheered for this excellent mod (going to link to it in my thread to... You just made The List)!

I will add that WCW gets a note saying they need at least 3 wrestlers with 77 pop across the US because that's the game's requirement for International feds. I'd imagine WWE will need 5 since they're Global. Not sure what the penalty is or how long you have until it starts hitting. You've got plenty at 70 at the start so anyone should be able to get them to 77 fairly quickly given the TV deals they have, but if it's severe enough, it could annoy the players. I wouldn't even have a guess on who to pick other than not Britney or Christina as they're the only main eventers who need to go to developmental.

Also, this is just a note to anyone playing this. Remove any B shows before you start the game because OMG the cost to drop one of them is insane. It may be an International thing or that YouTube has worldwide coverage (though TBS has the same requirement and only covers the US) but they all want over $11 million to cancel.

Both of those are more TEW things than a mod thing though so it's fine as is or make some tweaks as you see fit. The extra B show time will help boost your ME pop.

Just a general mod making note: If you're going to have actual tag teams or managers that are working with specific people, pre-set their chemistry to neutral at least so you can use them as designed. In this mod, Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell have really bad tag team chemistry in this particular game, but in one of the best mods ever made, I had Precious have horrible chemistry with her husband and Ron Garvin (evidently she wanted out of that family:p) so it happens all the time. As they actually have a tag team name, I imagine you wanted those two as a tag team is why I'm mentioning it.

Oh, and if anyone looks at WCW's opening roster and is daunted assigning everyone to a brand split, I managed to run without one. Though, without any relationships, it's easier to run a brand split than in others when you have to balance a lot of friendships. WWE continually screws that up irl so it's not the easiest thing to do.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. So I almost replied to you earlier but decided most of the things you pointed out could be rectified rather quickly so I have an updated database in the OP now.

I fixed the duplicate broadcasters (at least I think, I did a quick skim through so I may have missed a few).

I also decreased the starting pop of the top three promotions and NXT since I didn't realize I had them set so high. Now WWE starts as a National but on the cusp of becoming Global and WCW is at Cult but on the cusp of becoming national. TNA was nerfed a bit too, but is still at cult size to begin. NXT was dropped to regional since their roster is so talented they max out really fast. Also slightly increased the popularity of Trish, Lita, Beth, Chyna, and Sable to give WWE five talents at or above 77 popularity at the start so those pesky messages won't be an issue right away.

I assigned a few of my newer cuts to a few profiles who needed better pics (Charlotte & Becky among them).

I also went through and updated the initial tag teams I created for WCW, ECW, and NXT and made sure the workers in question had good or great chemistry.

I also made the Saturday "B" shows for both WWE and WCW "dormant." So each brand of each promotion has one major and one minor show totaling 3 hours per brand a week, 6 per promotion. Not including Events.

Are you still working on this mod?

Yes, though not in an aggressive manner. I actually play a skewered version of this myself with a lot of the workers set to high star power and charisma to sort of game the destiny stat that caps their potential popularity. The mod itself is geared towards a sandbox play style instead of grind.

I haven't kept track but I've probably added a worker or two since the last release and have continually added and updated the worker pics. I'll upload something in a few days with what I'm playing right now.
