I downloaded the SAMPP GIF Edition June 2021 picture pack and all the logos are showing fine except the wrestlers. Is there something i need to do in order to fix the issue?

I think JR is better than that myself. Exaclibur is hugely overrated in the game!

 

It needs to be impartial.

 

There really isnt any way to be impartial about anything in wrestling, but commentary especially is so hard to be objective about I think its almost entirely based on taste.

 

I wouldn't complain if JR was even as much as 10 higher in his announcing but I definitely understand why he's below a 50. At this point we have to accept that AEW keep him on comms for his name value alone, for the sake of lapsed fans. And I do think when hes invested in a match he can really bring a big fight feel.

 

But, I do feel for 90% of the matches he's behind the desk for he at best doesn't add much and at worst is an huge detriment to the action ESPECIALLY for pretty much every women's match on Dynamite.

 

Excalibur has been one or my favourite announcers, I do think his rating might look a little inflated because he is such an indie guy, but his knowledge of everyone in AEW really brings me memories of peak Mike Tenay which is never going to run less than a 70 in my opinion.

Potentially a stupid question since I don't know if it'd work, but wouldn't a potential solution be gibing JR a very low consistency rather than lower his announcing/CC stats ? That way, on his good nights, he'd be great, but more often than not the quality of his work would decline a lot ?

Mind you, I don't know if consistency works for announcers or only wrestlers.

I thought he would gel very well with Tony again after having not worked with Schiavone since 1993. However, those moments are few and far between.

 

I don't cast judgment on his performance at this point because I also remember that the man lost his wife in a tragic accident and that could very well change a person's performance based on grief.

on that front, Veda Scott is awesome on Colour. Allysin Kay is a legit good play by play.

 

Brittani Nikole is really good too and should be in the game. Does Mission Pro among other places.

Thank you for your feedback, it's appreciated. Unfortunately, we will continue to proactively do the opposite of your feedback, due to logic. It makes no sense to have Kane be listed as Glenn Jacobs.

 

Personnel of fame, should have their non-copyrighted names set as alter egos to be used if they join companies where they can not legally use those names, therefore there should be zero fundamental issues with that rule of stone.

 

The American independent scene in RWC includes every talent both with any relevance and importance, as well as name value, in addition to a plethora of different promotions across the nation.

 

There is an expansion mod that adds even more independent promotions based in America that can easily be downloaded and is even linked in this thread's first post if you care to look, which can quench your thirst for more American promotions.

 

I appreciate your concerns about the alleged lack of representation for the US scene, which isn't really flourishing, the US indy scene used to be full of incredible competitors such as Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Danielson, Low-Ki, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Alex Shelley, Christopher Daniels and so many more, and now is headed by people who are about four years away from entering their prime.

 

Finally, I can assure you that RWC isn't half-hearted or incomplete, especially in the areas mentioned. There may, and probably will, be areas expanded upon further as the mod grows further and further, but that certainly won't be to save it from being incomplete.

1) I took the mod over with all the gimmick names already in place due to people asking for it to be that way before I ever even started modding, I didn't input them. It's a matter of personal preference, I tend to revert them back to their real names when they leave WWE but some people like them using those names by default not just to search them, but because that's the name that pops up in year-end awards and if they're currently in WWE, it feels weird hearing that Adam Copeland or whatever won Wrestler of the Year. I didn't feel the need to go through and fix them all because I personally don't really care either way and I don't think a lot of other people do either.

 

2) I've done a metric buttload of work on the American wrestling scene. If you've been playing the mod since before I took over you'd know that Beyond, Black Label Pro, DEFY and in the next update ICW No Holds Barred have all been added since I took over and one of the goals when I started was to give some love to the independents, which as far as I'm concerned I have done. Adding companies beyond those would be neat, but superfluous considering they aren't all that relevant to the wrestling world (sorry, don't care how much you enjoy your IWTV subscription - I do as well, but it's not "flourishing"), a lot of them are run fairly similarly and pulling from the same talent pool and really they're too small for TEW's broadcasting mechanics to play nice with them. All of that is to ignore the elephant in the room which is processing speed. Before TEW 2020 came out I was hoping I'd be able to add a bunch of companies with no hit to performance but if anything it's even slower than 2016 was, and we're at the point where I need to remove companies to add new ones.

 

As for the puro companies, they're there because they're all relevant to the Japanese wrestling scene (okay, except BASARA). I would love to know how you consider there to be loads of Britwres though when there's 6 active companies and they've all been rightfully nerfed to high heaven since SpeakingOut and being gutted by NXT UK.

 

3) If you had literally any clue of how much work has gone into this mod or modding in general you wouldn't come in here saying this is half-hearted. Go back and look at all the changes that have been made since the final Fleisch update, check out all the attributes and experience stat that have been added since TEW 2020 came out, the gimmicks that have been fixed, the relationships that have been added, the entire companies that have been completely overhauled and the new ones that have been added, the brand new picture packs that have been created for this mod, the broadcasting overhaul etc and then come back and try to tell me again that the literal thousands of hours put into this mod for you to enjoy for free were half-hearted.

Okay, I'm glad I'm not just crazy. He was so distractingly bad I almost turned the match off so many times. I think the other guy was the wrestler SHLAK? I don't know, but I'm pretty sure they mocked Cardona for being an action figure collector more than doing any real commentary. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the main stream announce teams. Yes, even Michael Cole.

With ICW being added next update I don't see any companies that need adding to the US Indy scene aside from NEW at a stretch. Just because a wrestler has a funny tweet that gets 100 likes or IWTV's twitter account retweets every single mention of their shows doesn't mean it's flourishing. There's also no shows in 2021 with enough ratings on cagematch to give it a score from companies in the US that aren't in the mod. If it's individual wrestlers that you think need stats adjusting then suggest them as a blanket statement like that doesn't really help.

I gather we're getting ICW New York (they gave us Gage vs. Big Poppa Pump, so they'll always be cool in my books). Are you able to divulge anything else being added for August? I've tweaked the June set a bunch and was going to go deeper altering stuff for a draft game for a save with some friends, but I'm not sure if I should hold off or not.

1) The gimmick names were left in from when I was doing it. When I asked, the majority of people which they preferred, they wanted the WWE names in to make it easier to search and for end of year awards.

 

2) Being British, that was the scene I knew most about but since the data has been taken over, that scene has been gutted completely so unsure how you can claim its full of British. As for Puro, there are more relevant Japanese promotions in Japan than there are in America's interchangeable "Indy Promotion #25252" scene.

 

3) The mod has NEVER been half hearted. I spent 4 or 5 years on the data over TEW 2013 and 2016 (with help from Southside_Hitmen and various others) and the years of work since put in by Questlove and NoLegsGaming make your comments extremely insulting and petulant.

 

This mod isn't aimed at just one person, and if you don't like it, go play one of the various other mods out there.

Hello! Just a couple of small things I've noticed that can be changed for the next update:

 

- Jake Something and Heidi Lovelace (Ruby Soho) are listed as being in a relationship but this isn't the case at present. Jake is dating somebody from outside the business.

- Sarray (Sareee) is listed as having no English. I think that should be changed to passable.

- Kevin Blackwood should have 'Straight Edge' attribute.
