The C-Verse Re/Render Project: Episode IV: A New Hope

<p>There's nothing wrong with nudging people into learning a few basic 'conversion' skills. True. But maybe 100's of people will have to do the process, where you just need a couple of seconds. Just makin' sense here, not telling anyone what to do. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

You just open both files and copy-paste it on the blue background and save it as a JPG. Not much to it actually, especially once you did it multiple times and know where the buttons and shortcuts are.</p>

Good to meet you! Do you have an explanation as to why Adam kept yours in when making the character a more viable threat too?

Only Adam would know the answer to that one.

But regardless, it's incredible that you created renders that long ago! I was 6 years old 14 years ago!

Thanks for making me feel old! :p

It is funny that you brought this up today. I actually tried figuring out how to attach the blue background to a picture last night and was unsuccessful. Is this something that can be done using Paint or Paint 3D, or do I need different software to do it?

Get Gimp. Open blank C-verse background, File -->Open as layers, select the 150x150 render and then File -->export as jpg and you are golden.

After reading the past couple pages itt I feel obliged to post yet another version of Scythe and her's Mystery Man (in no way shape or form does he resemble a famous villain from a hasbro cartoon and toyline).

<p>For those looking to easily convert PNG files to JPG on the cverse blue the best option I have found is using IMBATCH which can be used for free and is found <a href="http://www.highmotionsoftware.com/products/imbatch" rel="external nofollow">HERE</a></p><p> </p><p>

Literally set up the size and background, drag in your PNG files (all at once) and then hit run.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="aRLGPii.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/aRLGPii.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

This is what I use and just as a reminder all my renders on cverse blue are available from my google drive (link in my render thread) along with them as PNG and GIF for those wanting to do something else.</p><p> </p><p>

I share the larger PNG on the forum purely because I think it looks better and shows off the render. I would obviously kill for larger in game images with PNG support :-)</p>

Just wanted to say that I, for one, love that you do that. I convert them myself and get to make my own decisions about how to frame/zoom them. I also tend to slightly edit images (usually for lighting) before commiting them to my in-game folder (although yours rarely need any adjusting).

I realize most users don't have the time or inclination to fuss with that stuff and prefer to get worker pics "ready to run", but I personally love having options.

Also, big PNGs are a great base for doing alt work. :D

You sir are a legend! I use to use GIMP and while it isn't hard it does take a little longer when doing a bunch! Thank you for this great tip! I just wanted to chime in that I love seeing your renders, but I just hate that we lose some of the amazing quality when they are converted!

Really like these. Everyone's style is so different, it makes the game so much fun with everyone's interpretations on characters:)

Agreed. I think my issue with some of the older default renders is that because the same artist/style was used over and over and over again a lot of the pictures look very similar and it is both jarring to see as well as harder to make each character get their own distinct "voice."

By merging the best of a lot of different artists it creates a really interesting database although I admit I'm a little bit of an addict as I pour through everyone's library trying to get the best of the best of the best (in my opinion).

I think I've replaced almost a third of the default DB, even in regions like Japan where I rarely roam but I do it anyway because I'm a bit OCD like that...

Also as a side request would it be possible to put all these "free" workers into a package renamed so the game can pick up their pics for generated workers?I was thinking for India there are some great groups of free worker images but the would all need to be packaged up and renamed in an organized manner. I'm happy to help as a volunteer but I'm not a great person for hosting as it should probably be added to the C-verse re-render project.
