Just started playing a new game with MAW and formed a stable called Generation Next (homage to ROH). It consists only of 2nd (or later) generation wrestlers led by my user character Eric Tyler. I signed 4 guys and they are making their debut at the RCI. I have decided to put Dreadnought and Original Sinner together as a tag team (Dread & Sin) but looking for ideas/suggestions on what their finisher would be.

The other two members are James Diaz and Chip Martin. I am hoping to have at least one of these guys make it to the top of the card, going to try with Martin first (as soon as he comes back from his injury).

Any other suggestions on who else could be hired as a member? I am looking for a woman to add since I added a women's division to MAW and TCW.

I think of the "Dark City Street Cutter" which was the finisher of the team of Jon Davis and Kory Chavis a.k.a. Dark City Fight Club.

Unfortunately, I can't find a video of the finisher but technically it's a "Sky lift dropped into a simultaneous neckbreaker / powerbomb combination".

But something really simple like a Double Chokeslam could do the trick with those huge guys.

Have you hired any women already? Otherwise, off of the top of my head, I'd say Black Diamond.

I remember the Dark City Street Cutter, going to go with that one! Thanks! They are going to wrestle a dark match at the RCI, hopefully they don't suck together.

I hired all 6 of the unemployed women that were under age 30 and Black Diamond is one of them. May have to work them onto the card slowly since none of them are really over yet.

So I've played up to August and here are the most interesting things going on in my game.

The Architect is my only Major Star. He will be taking the title from Bradley Blaze soon.

Bradley Blaze, Miller Fforde and Sandman Winks are my Stars.

Sam Keith is leaving to go to to TCW. No one else has been poached yet. Honest Frank has been brought in in response.

Hah! I chose Honest Frank as my user character.

Black Diamond didn't go so well for me. She's okay but not great. Ironically, Joy Rider, who I hated in 16, is doing well. She wrestles solo, manages Ffnorde, and periodically tags with him when ade and jacobs come calling.

Ernest Youngman poached, but he put over another person on the way out. No biggie. That's a major star gone but I still have Bradley Bl--

"Blaze hands in notice."

ARGH.

Gonna be getting that "not enough major stars" penalty for a bit I suspect unless I can get good old Architect up there fast enough.

What causes guys to hand in their notice? Poor booking/momentum?

Diamond wrestled DupliKate in a dark match at the RCI and it did not go very well, I think they got an 11 rating and both had poor gimmicks and bad ring performances. I will have to keep working with the women I signed, only way to go is up I guess :D

Welp, never doing a 16 team Sam Keith Classic tournament again. Pretty sure that took a total of at least 2 hours to set up and book.

16 team tournaments are no joke. I ran a couple in '16 and they were incredibly difficult (and almost always necessitated two nights)

I definitely wouldnt run a 16 man tournament in one night. Unless youre fudging with the 1 v 1 format of it, then that means you have to stuff 15 matches in one night. Id for sure go 2 nights minimum no matter but Id probably prefer 3 nights ideally so neither of the finalist are working more than once the final night unless theyve got ridic stamina to account for it.

I did. It wasn't too bad. The show was about 3 and a half hours, and all the first round matches were 3-7 minutes.

Back when I played a lot of the C-Verse, MAW was always my promotion, but I fell off that train pretty hard in 2016. Figured while I wait for a mod to roll out, I'll give them one more run, and I'm loving it so far. Took a few shows to get the flow of the new booking screen. Just need to figure out perception a bit more.

Signed a few guys to help balance the face/heel divide, but realized just how little time I'll have for some of them. A second monthly show doesn't seem so bad all of a sudden. Really dig the developmental feature. Just got my first batch of graduates from TCW with a potential stud in the class who is an amazing heel at 5'6", so that'll be a hoot to book. He's got decent mic skills, but I might pair him with a manager anyways. Already excited for the next class of graduates.

Planning on making The Architect my top heel. Gonna see if I can hold off until the finale to take the belt off Blaze. Really like the idea of putting the COTT and MAW belt on the line. Brought Ernest Youngman in to act as a muscle for Josh Jacobs in his feud with Miller, like charisma-less Dolph Ziggler and Big E. Cept Ernest will eventually overshadow Jacobs (until he gets poached I suppose). That feuds probably ends with Miller getting the upper hand and then Ernest killing Jacobs.

My real goal is to turn the tag division into something a bit more steady. Really like The Past Masters as the face of the division and then split'em up somewhere down the line. Also had Sam Keith take Sandman under his wing, so that's incredible. Definitely need a few more face teams though. Got Drop Kix partnering up with a brawler from the graduate class, nice little flash and pow duo. Probably gonna hold off on adding another face team until I get a second monthly show up and running.

Debating on who takes the American belt off Jaylon Martins. Really want to do that before October. Honestly might have it be that 5'6" prospect, AP Smash. I've kicked around the idea of a women's division in MAW, but I'm not sold on it yet. That might be a 2021 project, especially if I could open up MAW's own training facility.

I'm actually really bummed out that the boot camp is shut down now. After playing a long term game, I understand why at least one dojo had to go what with the flood of new workers, but I miss it. MAW is like the #1 promotion when it comes to their alum becoming legit stars in big promotions and it's sad to think that Sione and Noggins are the last real true blue MAW products.

So I wrapped up 2020. I am small sized, on Wrestleworld, and have about $130K in the bank with positive cash flow. I have not had any significant departures yet.

I am running a recurring monthly event in addition to the usual annual events. I tried upping it to weekly but it killed my attendance and revenue, it was apparently too soon to try.

My major stars are The Architect and Hugh de Aske. They are supported by Bradley Blaze, Brett Biggins, Bull Wrecker and Nate Demarcus.

My current champs are The Architect, Demarcus and Gray, and Rayne Man holds the MAA Title.

I think I am going to try to spend less money on talent short term so I can focus more on increasing my production values.

<p>So this is the first TEW game I've bought despite having played demos going back to like TEW 2007. Started off with MAW since everyone recommended it and it's been a blast.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Just wrapped up 2020 myself. Had the Architect win the 2020 RCI, dominate the rest of the year, then beat Bradley Blaze for the title at Where It All Begins Again after bringing in Hell's Bouncer as The Architect's muscle. Brought in a few vets (brought Ace Youngblood back, hired Remmy Skye) to solidify the midcard. Got some solid young talent that I'm trying to build up in Hammer Hadley and Papa Swoll (and some guys that came from the TCW dojo). We'll see what 2021 holds, I'm thinking I want Swoll to win the RCI and go on to challenge (and lose to) The Architect once he goes over Jonah Pilgrim.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The main event and tag scenes are kind of lackluster for me right now since I haven't done a great job emphasizing those, but I have a nice and healthy midcard and we're making money, so I'm happy. Slowly but surely starting to familiarize myself with the game; I like the roster a lot and how simple MAW is.</p>

Yes it is. An 8 wrestler invitational tournament that usually features a couple of guys from the COTT.

I usually book it as 4 homegrown talents and 4 visiting talents.

Really enjoying MAW this time round, I've just completed the Sam Keith Classic and excited for where I am going through the rest of the year.

Back in January MAW saw Logan Diaz (wolfsbane) debut at the rip chord invitational and win the whole thing. He wasn't meant to, it was meant to be Miller fforde but he got injured in the opening match and I had to rebook the whole thing. The show also saw Demarcus and Gray defend the tag titles against the wolf pack, Jaylon defended the MAA against deadline and Blaze defended the Title against cheetah boy.

February saw the start of maws weekly 1 hour show (Wednesday Night MAW) mainly featuring Lower card guys defeating vets (hired a bunch of 40 - 50 year old vets with decent in ring skills and high experience to lose to the young developing talent, the talk to work feature becoming a firm fav here as I have Convinced several global vets to work in the US). While the wolf pack split with sionne handing in his notice the company saw the debut of Dreadnought and Sinner (the demons of destruction), Papa Swoll, Phenomenal E and Kid Fantastic. The ppv saw cheetah again fail to win the maw title from blaze, the wolf packs final match in a losing effort to demarcus and gray, Jaylon defeating sandman winks to defend the MAA and Logan Diaz challenging for the COTT title losing after the interference from guillotine. Josh Jacobs was left to face the debuting art Reed with fforde still been out injured in a fantastic match that even 7 months in is still the second best match we have had (Logan vs Pablo from this show is the first)

March saw the arrival of the TCW graduates, only 2 of which had anything worth pushing, first is the now named skull solider (he has a skull mask render) who is a decent brawler but had a 75 in charisma and 68 in mic skills, the second is Henry Harvey (the name the game gave) who had good in ring skills but no entertainment skills, he has formed a team with trix triumph. The rest of the pack were all signed but have become enhancement talent on the weekly show in the hope they will improve. This month also saw the arrival of wild red stallion teaming with American Eagle as the trimble (I needed another face team) and James Diaz debut to help his cousin Logan against guillotine and his new partner the hangman. The ppv saw cheetahs final shot at blaze (by orders of sam keith) in a steel cage in which blaze won. Jaylon defended his MAA against the historian, Demarcus and Gray defended the tag titles against the scheme but this story was far from over, the Diaz family and the deathbringers (guillotine and hangman) fought to a no contest, fforde returned to fight in a losing effort to josh Jacobs who won with the help of ade Nelson. Sean noggins made his singles ppv debut against art Reed in a losing effort but best down the vet after the match.

Big story for April was the fans turning on blaze, despite not losing since the game started and been booked strong he dropped from a major star to a star (and that is where he has stayed with no movement), no new debuts but Papa Swoll and skull soldier were really shining on the development show and the demons got their first real storyline against the heartbreak express. The ppv saw Bradley blaze defend his maw title against josh Jacobs after ade Nelson botched his interference, Jaylon defeated skull soldier to retain the MAA, the scheme captured the tag titles after using the ropes for leverage. Swoll made his ppv debut defeating Bobby Thomas (one night deal), Demons won there ppv debut against the heart breakers, Miller fforde and cheetah clashed in match that saw a double pin fall and the Diaz family continue their war with deathbringers this time in a falls count anywhere match that sees the Diaz family win after a hard fought wild brawl. (the match resulted in all 4 moving up in perception, guillotine, hangman and James to well known, Logan to a star).

During the course of May ade tries to apologies for his mess ups by getting him and Jacobs a no1 contenders match for the tag titles against phenomenally fantastic (phenomenal e and kid fantastic), the demons continue to torment the heart breaker, Sean noggins starts to come into his stride as a singles star and the past masters sick of been over looked lure Bradley blaze into facing them for the title which sees the debut of island boy apollo coming to the aid of blaze. The ppv saw Jaylon lose the MAA in a triple threat match against papa Swoll and skull soldier to Swoll, the scheme manage to retain the tag titles against demarcus and gray, Jacobs turned on Nelson costing them their no1 contenders match, the demons again defeated the heart breakers, noggins finally got his win back over art Reed, fforde and cheetah again clashed this time ending against in a draw when neither man could answer the 10 count and blaze and apollo defeated the past masters. (Diaz family and deathbringers took the month off to recover from fatigue)

June saw Sean noggin earn a shot at the maw title winning a 10 man battle Royal. There was some great focus on the tag scene with The Diaz family returned and were attacked by the debuting fro sure and raheen stash leading to a match at the ppv, the deathbringers turned their attention to demarcus and gray, the hearbreakers take one more shot at the demons and the scheme set to defend against phenomenally fantastic. The ppv saw fforde finally defeat cheetah boy in a 30 minute iron man match that stole the show, papa Swoll defeated Jaylon Martins in his return match for the title, skull soldier defeated Island boy apollo, Diaz family defeated sure and stash, deathbringer defeated demarcus and gray by ref stoppage and kayfab injury, the hearbreakers faced the demons in a steel cage match that saw the demons defeat the heartbreaks for the third time (Ralph handed in his notice to move on the night before the show), scheme defended their tag titles using underhanded means, Jacobs defeated ade Nelson following the debut of hayley buck to be his manager and Blaze managed to retain his title when noggins got frustrated and hit blaze with a chair for the dq.

July was was a month for setting up the Sam Keith Classic focusing on the tag teams. We also saw Swoll challenged by skull soldier and noggins forcing blaze into a corner to give him a rematch. Cheetah and Miller got the month off for fatigue. The tournament took up most of the ppv was won in the end by the Diaz family defeating past masters, the tribe and the demons in the finals. Swoll defended the MAA against skull soldier, the scheme defended again against phoenomally fantastic, Jacobs ended his fued with Nelson and Sean noggin following help from the deathbringers defeated Bradley blaze to become the MAW champion (noggins going into the match had the most popularity on the roster bar non, his fued with Reed built him up no end, he still has some way to develop in terms of in ring work but hopefully he will continue to improve).

At the end of 7 months the roster has 2 major stars in Sean noggin and Logan Diaz, 5 stars in Jacobs, blaze, fforde, cheetah and Reed, well knowns in guillotine, hangman, architect, jonah pilgram, dreadnought, sinner, demarcus, gray, jaylon, Swoll. The rest of the roster is either recognised or unimportant. In other notes sandman winks was taken under the wings of road agent Craig Prince who keeps giving him lots of psychology lesson and has gotten sandman up to 81 psychology.

My plans going forward are to see Noggin and the Deathbringers form the first maw stable, their mission to eliminate Bradley Blaze. Blaze will be building a team to face them in Apollo and fforde. My hope is that making blaze chase for a bit will turn fan perception round and get them back on his side.

Cheetah and Reed will be used to try and elevate some more talent, potentially cheetah vs jaylon and Reed vs skull soldier

Logan Diaz is set to face Noggin towards the end of the year.

The scheme are set to be tag champs throughout the rest of the year

The demons are developing nicely and I want to see it continue

My intention is to build Swoll into a main event contender, with his star quality he could become a major player.

On my weekly show some workers are starting to show some progress, Joey Fili and Duke Freeman are improving, the tribe got their first real outing in the Sam Keith and got personally best in ring ratings, mayhem express (trix and Henry) are also putting out good ratings. Johnny now that Ralph has left is going to either need to find a new partner or try to become a singles star but I haven't decided which yet or if I am going to move bowen to a new team. The other tcw graduates none of them have shown anything particularly impressive and they will continue to work as enhancement talent for the weekly shows

In terms of in coming talent I may be hiring a few new vets work the weekly shows for some fresh matches and replace people who have retired (I have had 3 retire) but unless someone pops up on the indys who catches my eye I don't think there will be any new prospect hirings just yet (but I am always watching the random gens for any interesting talents).

I'm in April 2021, on pace to hit Small before the deadline, thanks to a favorable economy that let me increase to two shows a month. I also bought a tiny internet broadcaster. It loses me money but the pop gain was worth it. I may add a "tv" show to the station either after the Keith tourney or in January.

Like my last MAW run, I'm finding that most of the old MAW people just aren't going to get me growth. Some quit and the others are slowly jobbing for better, younger athletes like James Diaz, Sandman, and Dreadnaught. Not the Architect, though. He's amazing for me again.

The TCW folks are hit and miss. I'm using them but the ones I don't care for are job filler. TCW can pound rocks if they don't like it, I don't really need them to stay afloat.

My general feeling is that if you want to grow MAW past Small, you have to change it a bit. I am not sure if I want to do that or not. I might cap at small and play a few years as a feeder league for everyone else. Or it might be fun to see if they can do a mostly traditional style at a higher level. Ill likely take a break once I hit Small to play another fed for a bit. I vowed this version to play more than one game at a time.

Side note: After about 20 or so shows now, I do think booking takes a bit longer in this version. But it's worth it because I like the additional information I have access to without a spreadsheet. I think my matches are better because of easier review of skills, even with fog of war. I don't mind the change even if it means my long term saves will take longer.
