They were not only on the same page throughout, but they cut the ring in half, not allowing Lynx to make the tag! He was so isolated at one point, that Swoop might as well have been a hundred miles away. The big duo of Jackson and Steele held him back brilliantly, but eventually he broke through, dodging a lariat attempt from Steele, and flipping over to Swoop! The momentum swung in the fan favourites' favour, and Swoop rallied the crowd behind him. Lynx hit a nice dropkick on Jackson, before taking Steele out at the knees! Because we got to see some pre-taped action, from when Nathan McKenzie paid Montgomery Croft a little visit at his Boardroom... The first image we saw, was that of McKenzie, who was stomping through the corridor of an office building, looking for Croft... He kicked a few doors open, to reveal professional men and women, going about their business... Until eventually, he stopped at a door marked with a gold placard... The placard read: 'The Richest Man in RAW'... and McKenzie knew he was in the right place... The door opened, and the camera was inside the room now... McKenzie burst in... and Croft, at the other end of the room, told the big man to wait!! The full length of the large conference table was between them... Montgomery Croft: “Hold on Nathan... Wait there, please... Listen... I know you're angry... I get it... But I have something for you that might help...” Nathan McKenzie: “No tricks Croft!! All I want, is to get my hands around your scrawny neck, and squeeze so hard you forget everything you know!!” Montgomery Croft: “You won't have to worry about any of that... Here... This is for you... Open it!! Now!!” Croft slid a brown paper parcel down the conference table (this took several takes to get right), and McKenzie stopped it with his big, burly hands!! The package was taped up well, but McKenzie bit at it... and pulled it open... He reached inside the paper bag and pulled out the contents... The look on McKenzie's face was a picture... Whatever he was holding, he was in shock!! He'd clearly never held anything like this before... But we couldn't see what it was... He had his back to the camera... 'Big Mac' turned to face the camera... Then revealed the contents of the bag... Croft had given him... A HANDGUN!! McKenzie didn't know what to make of it... Then three men burst into the room from a different door!! These three men weren't wrestlers (they were, they were from developmental... Hack Greer, The Historian and Mortimer Pyle)... They were armed police, and they told McKenzie to get face down on the conference table with his hands on his head!! He slowly put the gun down, and obliged... Fearing for his life, but not showing it as he angrily glared at Montgomery Croft... 'The Richest Man In RAW' couldn't contain his glee for seeing his rival get handcuffed, and marched out of his boardroom... A complete set up from Croft... I'm, as always, Greg Sluchinski, and I'll be taking you through some of the big stories, and small ones, in professional wrestling right now. So, over the past week, what's happened that's gotten the world talking? Well, we're going to start with a little COTT action, and it's COTT World Champion Pablo Rodriguez, on the move, yet again! He had a couple of successful appearances in OLLIE and NYCW, as well as appearing in his own company CZCW. He even appeared at a recent 'Big-Time Independent Wrestling from Springfield' show. An event promoted by an independent group. This time, he's made deals to go and appear in IPW and, then make a follow-up showing in NYCW. Truly a travelling Champion. Over to RAW in Australia again next, and some hugely positive feedback on the final segment of the show. I have been critical of RAW in the past. I've said things like: “Too much like a Soap Opera!”... and having liked the Season Opener this month, I said the show lacked anything really interesting happening, despite enjoying it. But this show was a cut above that. And this final segment, knocked it out of the park. Cole Taylor impressed me again. Blake Belushi won again, so that's 4 from 4 in February for him. All three Wayne Brothers had good showings, and Swoop McCarthy made Lynx look like a STAR in the Main Event. There were lots of great non-wrestling segments to enjoy too. But the show-stealer, for me, and for many, was the Montgomery Croft Boardroom segment. Nathan McKenzie getting arrested, and not being able to get his hands on Croft. It just furthers their story, and there still hasn't been any physicality between them! For those wondering, RAW used three of their developmental talents to play the armed police officers. Mortimer Pyle, who has worked for RAW before, Hack Greer, a young prospect from Perth, and then an American worker: The Historian, who also plies his trade in MAW. Finally for now, The Alex DeColt situation. Guys, I know I reached out, and maybe lashed out, last week, and a lot of you responded extremely positively. I've had noticeably less 'hate mail' since too. Well, about Alex anyway. But the most bizarre phone call I got this week, was from the man himself. Alex reached out to me, personally, to let me know that he would like a chat with me. So, next week, we'll sit down and I'll interview one of the greatest minds in professional wrestling history. I'll put up some highlights from our conversation up here, and you guys can all do what you do. Also next week, we'll talk at length about RAW's 11th Anniversary Show. Promises to be a great one. We had some fun stuff, like The RAW Giants crammed into that car. I popped for that one! Ceri Dordevic's arrival on RAW was great, I thought she did great. She was funny, as in, heel funny. And. She had GREAT chemistry with Louie Louis! Which is awesome news! Then we had the more serious stuff. Echo versus Tombstone is a match and feud I've wanted to see since I got to Australia. The look at their rivalry and their finishers I thought was strong. And then (Nathan) McKenzie's performance, and (Montgomery) Croft, at the Boardroom. I mean, those two blew me away. I was really proud of that segment, and really proud of everybody involved. The locker room are starting to gel better, and become better behaved. I've had no incidents to deal with myself. But I heard on the grapevine that Matt Stoppard was late being picked up by Marcus Kerr and whoever else he rides with. They took him to 'wrestler's court', which I'm glad the boys have over here in Oz. Court found him guilty, and he bought everyone beers after the show. He was a total pro tonight, as was Kerr. Hoping those 3AM boys have turned a corner. I heard Doug Vallence mention on commentary that Blake Belushi is 4 and 0 in February. Great record for him, means he's 4 and 0 in 2020, since we were off TV in January. That could lead to a bit of a streak for him. Then again, his opponent for the 11th Anniversary Show is Loxley Robbins, and he's 2 and 0 in 2020!! It's undefeated man versus undefeated man then! They're not just beautiful, they're undefeated. Ah thank you man, nice to hear some feedback on that storyline. It's been a fun one to write so far. Certainly an action packed show, and for me this was the turning point. The first few shows felt like I was introducing characters, and doing callbacks to what had happened in RAW over the last four years. Now it's time to kick on and the 11th Anniversary Show is certainly a great place to continue that momentum. Crime Buster is such a great gimmick! I love ZEN!! Party Central (Horton & Heath) w/ Autumn Gleason [vs] The Masterminds w/ Spin Doctor [vs] God's Gift (Banks & Standish) © God's Gift are the best team here imo (APW Bias). This really could go either way though, I say its close and Horton and Heath with the name change also deserve a crack being the 4 time Tag-Team champions. Still it feels like Banks and Standish have played more of a supporting role in this feud and a strong win will keep the duo relevant, as they are beating two more long term established teams in RAW. You may go a different direction though as Party Central and The Masterminds are more developed characters. Kerry Wayne, Captain Wrestling II & Will Beaumont [vs] Kal Wayne, Kian Wayne & ?? Will is the future of RAW and will be getting wins. I am curious who their 3rd is and a debuting guy should get a win on the PPV to make a statement. But at the same time there is no one in almost all of RAW let alone the Australian Independant scene that deserves to pick up a win against Kerry and CWII 'The Real Beaut' Loxley Robbins [vs] 'Beautiful' Blake Belushi Both are great workers but Loxley imo is the better of the pair (I may have mixed them up) and the Face you need with so many strong heels in the company. RAW Quest Title Match! 'The Enigma' Echo [vs] Tombstone © This is rough, I want Echo to build a great career and move on up through the ranks at RAW to face Frogue his eternal rival. It is the perfect storyline for those two to have while Frogue is Champion. Frogue needs a long run as Champion purely to solidify himself at the top, so Echo could capture the title here elevate his stock before challenging for the top title. But, Tombstone one of my favourite guys, a leader at DIW but not a guy I could make my main champion. I want him to have a major run. 'Big Mac' Nathan McKenzie [vs] 'The Richest Man in RAW' Montgomery Croft I flipped flopped on this. One hand McKenzie is a monster and deserves a win after being put away by the police. On the other hand this is the biggest story going into the event and I dont want it to end right now. It is so difficult to make a pick here.. i am going with McKenzie to pay the faith to the 2016 APW roster. RAW TV Title Match! 'The Alpha Male' Swoop McCarthy [vs] 'The Ultimate Trash Talker' Frogue Element © Imagine being Frogue, winning the Title in a Triple Threat and having a triple threat defence. This is his first run with the title. Now if you just arent enjoying him as Champion it will hurt to have him drop it so early on against Swoop. I mean where does he go? He isnt a major threat in the Top of the card but too big for the Quest title. Frogue needs the win to be legitimate. BONUS Questions! 1).
