<p>The reason for this thread is two-folded:</p><p> </p><p>

1. I'm hoping others are as interested in seeing how playing in India will be as I am. I'm pretty intent on doing an RTG there. I think it'll be cool to grow an entire wrestling industry and perhaps eventually dethrone USPW when no other company could do it. Feels to me like probably the funnest/most interesting challenge in TEW this year. </p><p> </p><p>

2. Sort of a PSA</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="d68878c455d39ef93ce43793ce33e716.png" data-src="https://i.gyazo.com/d68878c455d39ef93ce43793ce33e716.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Last paragraph is the key part. India will NOT work unless you a) turn it on (this one's obvious) and more importantly <strong>b) turn OFF the picture requirements. </strong></p><p> </p><p>

It's very frustrating and completely misguided to not have this upfront and center and I'm very happy I happened to come up on this instead of wasting my time months later. I'm already predicting plenty of people will have no idea why the india in their game isn't developping and probably not many will think there's a very specific India section in the CVerse part of the guidebook that answers that question. I can't control the game so I'm just hoping this is as easy to see as possible going forward. </p><p> </p><p>

--</p><p> </p><p>

The moment the full game is out, I'll be coming back here to post about my experiences in India because it'll probably be a day one long term game for me.</p>

Alternatively, there's a decent number of new Indian renders over in the render thread in the mod forum. So far, I've been able to find 15 more men and 10 more women, and I assume more are being created all the time.

Im not sure how this would be a proper alternative if you're intent on a long term game. UK/Europe/Oceania each have at least 300 workers for a decently working wrestling region. You'd have to essentially conjure up 300 pictures to make it a nice & viable working region.

I mean, it would be wonderful if there was an India render pack to fix that but Im doubting someone will go out of their way to make that many renders for a region that probably wont get touched much.

<p>I have just started with a new Indian company diary, of course based on Kashmir Singh's Training facility and linked it to the promotion. It gives me a first refusal to every future graduate coming out of that. </p><p> </p><p>

At start, there is about 7 or 8 wrestlers who can work in India, notable being Kashmir Singh and SNP's Bali Daljit.</p><p> </p><p>

The new feature Talk to Worker is the exact thing needed for this region as you can try and convince any worker to come and work in India and it gives you success, especially with unemployed workers at the start.</p><p> </p><p>

That's my two cents. I will continue working on my diary, just waiting for the full game to come out.</p>

Is it just me or is it kinda dumb that you HAVE TO HAVE the picture thing turned off? If you're going to tout india as being this next breeding ground for talent, then why would it be limited to 18 pictures of people? I just kinda feel like india maybe needed to be a bit more fleshed out

I wasn't around at the time, but from what I've heard, Australia/Oceania was originally a similar wasteland that was only expanded on in future games. If that's true, it's at least got precedent. One of the issues for India in particular is you need a whole new set of renders. So far, I've been able to gather about 30 pictures around the forums. 50 doesn't seem that bad for a burgeoning industry.

It's certainly been massively expanded since but there was enough there for you to be able to start TEW 2008, pick out APW and have a reasonable game without needing to mess around with the editor or disabling pictures to really make it viable at all.</p><p> </p><p> That said, I think your overall point is correct. There wasn't much to Australia when it first appeared in the game and it's gained a lot of depth and detail in the games since; I imagine the same will apply to India.</p>

<p>I'm currently working on a mini-expansion of 30 fully fleshed out characters, each with their own new render too. It will be done and out by Friday.</p><p> </p><p>

I know it doesn't fix the issues with regens but it might help a little to get started in the region.</p>

Something I've been thinking about is what could India look like in 2021? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Adam does what he did with 2016 and releases a "one year later" update that has an Indian promotion already running. Maybe even two, with one having a Bollywood-inspired product reminiscent of RAW and another with a more performance based product. I'm away from my PC now so I can't check what the to-be-debuted companies products are but it would be cool to get two polar opposite companies running in a new territory to help establish it.

Delhi Superstar Pro Wrestling has a family friendly wrestling product and their profile talks about how it's designed to appeal to all age groups, be a riot of colour and noise, be big on theatrics and have a distinctive Bollywood influence while Mumbai Grand Prix Wrestling has a wrestling as a sport product and a profile which emphasises the focus on in-ring action, PGHW influence and treating wrestling with respect and seriousness.</p><p> </p><p> Whether it's from users creating their own workers (or using faceless generics) or waiting for the next instalment of TEW, once the Indian scene kicks off it could be the region with the clearest division and competition between "fun" and "serious" wrestling in the world with roughly similar size companies (at least since the Canadian merger).</p>

Of course the only issue being that there aren't enough free pictures. Just go into the Free pictures and add Indian workers.

If that's too much work you can easily use the mass editor and make it so all the Hispanic workers (for example) can also be Indian workers when they are generated. Takes minutes and the problem is solved without needing faceless workers generated.

This post is straight up silly. 1st. If "Just go into the Free pictures and add Indian" was that simple then just tell the guy who made the game to do it.

Second what is this bandage fix where you indian-wash all the Hispanic workers. Why would I generate a ton of Hispanic-looking workers if Im trying to play an India with predominantly Indian workers.

I appreciate it a great deal. I dont think it makes sense that players have to put parts of the game into a working condition like this but I'm very appreciative of any work modders do.

/spoilers

It looks like theres a Bollywood Lucha style company & a PGHW style company but neither are set to open till 2022 so unless Adam opened them prematurely or it was a two year time skip, its a bit unlikely.

That was for TEW 2013 btw, he didnt do that for TEW 2016

I feel ya on the pictures. Hopefully, in addition to ironing out all the bugs, they're taking the added time until release to throw in a few more free pictures.

If it's any consolation, once the 2020 Thunderverse mod is done, I'm betting that's going to have a easier go of it. They already have several Indian workers, and if I'm not mistaken, title belts for an Indian company that you could buy (you just couldn't play it in the home area).

Oh wow that was even longer ago than I thought! Either way, I thought it was a really cool thing for him to do. One of my favorite parts of the new games is seeing how the C-Verse has changed, and he gave us a cool snapshot of that between actual releases.

I totally agree! I actually talked about this to a friend yesterday, I think an officially updated CV would make sense for TEW 2020, if Adam has the time for it.

Would love to try India, but with all the problems I think I will stick to TCW, and next game I will do both TCW and an India save. Will probably use the ent company and run it RAW-style.

I think a big thing for next game is expanding the pictures and diversity of workers for India. There doesn't have to be loads to start with, and the companies should start small, but it should ramp up with new workers debuting faster then other reigons

I think we should wait to see what Adam has planned for India. We just need to express our excitement for the area for him to see.

I love India, Bollywood Bajit Avatar is awesome. All the new people are great. Starting a company that isn't Important and growing it is fun. Not having the stress of having to compete with other computers allows me to try different things. The new system, where there are no real pushes and just what the fans think, it allows me to do a lot more with my roster and I can reorganize based on who is getting better in the ring faster or who is getting over faster. It's quite fun but because it's a beta version, I can't go all in either.

Glad to see someone else agrees with me! I kinda love India being barren early one, my biggest issue is probably the drought of future talent set to debut. Like, I get that the free pics were an issue, but we only have debuting talent up through February, that's kind of a bummer. Well, that and the lack of Indian referees at the start of the game, that one just seems like a complete oversight. It's hard to blame Adam for that though when my first Indian game I also completely forgot to pick up a referee. :p

In terms of the actual experience though, building up the Indian wrestling scene from scratch is one of the more unique TEW experiences I've had, although I've probably restarted a handful of times now due to the demo time limit.

I don't think you fully understand how Free Pictures work....

Most free pictures can fit more than one ethnicity. Also it is indeed as simple as going into the free pictures and adding Indian workers...

EDIT: Figured I should give you a direct example. CVFP_HispanicMale_032 could function as an Indian render in addition to Hispanic.
