"Weird" things you do

Recommended Posts

Since we're days from the full release, I was talking with some friends and came across some unusual (or "weird") things people do, either on day one of a save or as soon as otherwise possible. I'm wondering if anyone else has any unique things they do when preparing to get into a save. Some of mine are:

I go through every worker on my roster and make sure they have a good (or at least decent) finisher. No belly-to-belly or german suplexes but something with some uniqueness or at least visual impressiveness. For example, Black Diamond's default finish is a belly-to-belly suplex. I changed it to a foot stomp facebreaker (Gail Kim's Eat Defeat) since it fits her skillset (not overwhelmingly talented in any area but decent across the board) and has a nice visual. Trying to think of what dastardly heel to give the Poison Rana to now though (especially since it doesn't really fit Katya).

This probably isn't 'weird' but due to the virtuosity of the modders and renderers, I create unique personas for most people on my roster. I keep their default render as is but in my company, I'll use a different render for them and create an alter ego.

Anyone else have unusual things you do before a game really gets started?

Same basically, even though I play with Real World mods. I literally can't play if the whole roster doesn't have its real current moveset. :D

I always used to add a bunch of neutral chemistry to the database. So that feuds I wanted to run wouldn't suffer from negative chemistry. For some mods, this could end up being THOUSANDS of neutral chemistries. Dont' bother anymore and I loathe to think of the time I spent doing that.

If you're going to that much trouble, why not set positive chemistry between your feuding workers?

It really does hurt my heart a little to forget that and then have a match where John Cena wins the US Title over the Big Show using a Death Valley Driver instead of an F-U. :D:D:D

I play RW almost exclusively, but I usually HATE the default matches and angles, so as a first port of call I always delete all matches and angles and then load in the default ones.

Something I’ve found I do now with TEW2020 is I go through the roster one person at a time and make sure they only have one role. This is particularly prudent for real world mods where they might give JR an announcer, personality and a road agent role, I’ll make him solely an announcer.

Then as I go through the roster, I import moves to replace the lame ones in workers' movesets.

I always make cards of all my wrestlers with stats and information I consider relevant and put them in colored card sleeves depending on push. I use yellow sticky tags to denote champions and other colors to denote factions. Makes it so much easier for me to set up cards quickly.
