My intention with this diary is to have everything in-universe, so there won't be any behind-the-scenes/backstage segments. Posts will likely be a combination of the shows + other content to build out the story of the Multiverse and the wrestlers.

I will probably post the first show tomorrow or the day after, if you'd like to make predictions, please go ahead :)

DeCipher vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma

Death's Head vs. Scorpion

Blue Wolf vs. Samael the Accuser

Boriken Love Machine Jr vs. Captain Lucha

About time somebody did EMLL. Will be following this with great interest.

Hell yeah, EMLL is my favourite Mexican promotion and I love the twist their product/canon took in 2020!

DeCipher vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma

DC is more over, but I always thought he's overrated

Death's Head vs. Scorpion

Always felt bad for Scorpy. He's good, just not good enough and DH needs to look dangerous

Blue Wolf vs. Samael the Accuser

Guess we're building up the heel group/universe

Boriken Love Machine Jr vs. Captain Lucha

Why isn't this the main event? It could very well steal the show

La Bestia Morada vs. La Estrella

I like both guys, but Estrella has more upside. Also, this is a diary by a person named LaEstrella, I mean, come on...

So pumped for this. Been playing nothing but EMLL the past two weeks and they are great. There are so many solid guys to bring in too if wanted/needed. Are you going to keep it all singles or move towards tag teams?

DeCipher vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma- DeCipher is a good hand but he doesn't have what it takes for EMLL.

Death's Head vs. Scorpion- Death' Head is a top level guy, Scorpion is solid in the ring and will give him a good match.

Blue Wolf vs. Samael the Accuser- I usually send Blue Wolf on excursion in any game I've played so I imagine he'll be looking at the lights a lot.

Boriken Love Machine Jr vs. Captain Lucha- Captain gets the win but I fully expect some Demon King shenanigans here.

La Bestia Morada vs. La Estrella- both good workers but Estrella pulls it out probably due to some Anarchist mind control hijinks.

Really looking forward to seeing where you take this and who you bring onto the roster over time.

Not normally someone who messes around with Lucha companies, but EMLL has me interested so I'm excited to see someone doing a dynasty with them.

DeCipher vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma

Death's Head vs. Scorpion

Blue Wolf vs. Samael the Accuser

Boriken Love Machine Jr vs. Captain Lucha

La Bestia Morada vs. La Estrella

I'm mostly picking DeCipher just to be different from everyone else. I know the EMLL crowd doesn't like pure technical wrestlers, but as long as he's not in the main event I don't think it's that big an issue.

Ramón what are your thoughts on our opening match?”<p> </p><p> Ramón scoffs, placing his glass of scotch on the announcer’s desk and turning to face Hector, blowing a thick cloud of cigar smoke in his face before chuckling to himself and returning to his drink.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hector Moreno:</strong> “You are absolutely unbelievable! Its bad enough you barely contribute, but now you’re openly smoking and drinking on the job! Bandido, sir, you can’t honestly be ok with this?”</p><p> </p><p> <strong>El Bandido:</strong> “Woah there Hector, easy amigo. We’ve all got our parts to play and I’m feeling the love from the crowd and the fans watching live at home tonight. I’ll tell you what, I had serious doubts about these infernal creatures and Multiverse travellers at first, but I’ve come to learn that the only thing that pays better than crime is a crowd looking to watch a good demon-beating. And we’ve got the best in the Multiverse with Captain Lucha. He proved that three weeks ago at The Destiny Crisis when he took down Demon King to become a two-time Campeonato del Mundo winner.”</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hector Moreno:</strong> “Oh absolutely, but what concerns me is that we haven’t seen Demon King since then. I think experience wins out here.”</p><p> </p><p> <strong>El Bandido:</strong> “I wouldn’t be so sure. If there’s one thing I always looked out for when putting together my crews it was... guts. Chants of 'BORING' begin to erupt throughout the Palacio de Lucha. It seems that being a cryptic traveller from across the Multiverse just isn't enough to hold a crowd's attention these days. They want fists, flips and a solid chair-shot if they can get one.<br /></li><li>Taking advantage of DeCipher's lapse in concentration, El Hijo Del Fantasma takes the fight to him, wearing him down with a mixture of brutal strikes and flashy flips, much to the crowd's delight.<br /></li><li>The match settles back into a rhythm, with both Luchadores getting in an even amount of offence. He's always been good, but in particular, over the last several months he's been unstoppable. I know I should be past doubting anything anymore, but I wasn't expecting his sacrifice of Lunatic - God rest his soul - to bring him such power. I hope we never see another member of the Kingdom of Blood. One's more than enough."</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hector Moreno:</strong> "You're absolutely right, Dolphin Master better watch his fin because--"</p><p> </p><p> </p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/vez4N20QBIE?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Pretty Lights - Lonesome Street - Passing By Behind Your Eyes"></iframe></div></div>, shocking the crowd. As the shock wears off, the boos began to flood in thick and fast.<p> </p><p> <strong>Hector Moreno:</strong> "It can't be! He hasn't been seen in months!"</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ramón Delgado:</strong> "Finally a bit of star power around here!"</p><p> </p><p> <strong>El Bandido:</strong> "I don't believe this. Once in the ring he takes his time, flashing his brilliant white smile at the crowd. A few cheers seep through the boos, but eventually the noise dies down completely as he raises the microphone to his mouth to speak.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>La Estrella:</strong> "Oh how I've missed you all. I try my best to come and see you, but it's just so difficult to fit everything into my schedule. Hollywood's tough, it's not for everyone. Once you get past the long days and nights of shooting, there's the flights across the globe, press tours, miles of red carpet to be walked."</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hector Moreno:</strong> "Are we sure this guy is even a Hollywood star? If so, who is he?"</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ramón Delgado:</strong> "Don't be ridiculous. The traditions of Lucha Libre aside, If you lived a double life as a Hollywood megastar you wouldn't go revealing your identity to everyone."</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hector Moreno:</strong> "Maybe so, but I'm just saying, mask or no mask, he doesn't look like any of the Hollywood stars I've seen."</p><p> </p><p> <strong>La Estrella:</strong> "They say when you make it big, you can't go home again. But here I am, and you know what? It's true, I can't go home again. But I can sure as hell visit this trailer park and spend a week slumming it with the little people for a change of pace! Oh, go ahead, boo me all you want. That's all you'll ever be able to do. Boo me, curse me, wish you were me. But at the end of the day, you're you and I'm me. The funny thing is, I started out like all of you. Poor, worthless, staring down a life of working 12 hour factory shifts and going home to microwave mac-and-cheese. But I was lucky. Yes, I admit it, I was lucky. That's the only word I can use to describe these god-given good looks, acting chops and unmatched athletic ability."</p><p> </p><p> El Bandido shoots up out of the announcers desk, he's heard enough. Grabbing a microphone of his own, he rolls into the ring and stares down La Estrella. The crowd goes wild for their hero, but La Estrella merely laughs.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>La Estrella:</strong> "Bandido! Thanks for saving me the trouble, I was going to call you in here anyway. You know why I'm here. I'm here to reclaim my property. The Campeonato del Mundo. I'll have my agent call you and set up a time for the match."</p><p> </p><p> <strong>El Bandido:</strong> "Estrella, I admire a man that knows what he wants and is prepared to take it. But you can't just walk in here and be handed a title match. That being said... out of respect for your resume, I'll give you your title match next week. IF you can beat an opponent of my choosing tonight."</p><p> </p><p> <strong>La Estrella:</strong> "Oh? And who would that be?"</p><p> </p><p> <strong>El Bandido:</strong> "The man-beast La Bestia Morada!"</p><p> </p><p> The crowd erupts with applause and La Estrella claps along with them.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>La Estrella:</strong> "A man beast? I didn't realize you were letting fans into the ring these days. Alright then, against my better judgement, just this once I'll give everyone a freebie. But I'm not going on any earlier than the main event. It's bad for my complexion."</p><p> </p><p> La Estrella drops his mic at El Bandido's feet and rolls out of the ring, exiting to jeers from the thoroughly riled-up crowd. El Bandido looks on silently from inside the ring, unknown thoughts floating around in his mind.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hector Moreno:</strong> "...Well there you have it! But for any lovely ladies watching on the internet - I know there certainly aren't any in the crowd tonight - I promise that was the only time you'll hear me say that sentence. I've enjoyed what some might say is more than my fair share of Señoritas in my time, but in my defense, I can't help it if they choose me. So maybe I shouldn't feel the way I do right now, but I've got something to get off my chest. I'm not interested in titles, rings of power or whatever other nonsense everyone seems to be chasing these days. A glass of wine and a lovely lady to share my bed are all I've ever needed or wanted. For you young men in the crowd tonight, you should give it a try. Though it might be considerably more expensive for you than it is for me."</p><p> </p><p> "And I was with a lovely lady last night, glass of wine in hand. Awesome first show. I wouldn't worry too much about the show being too predictable, I'll take logical booking over shock-swerve booking any day of the week.

Predictions:

Anarchist vs. Pyromaniac

Anarchist is the one with a storyline, and is the better wrestler to begin with.

Aprendiz Jr vs. DeCipher

Even discounting Aprendiz's advancing age, his whole persona is an odd fit for EMLL's current direction, so I see his role as putting guys over and working with your rookies.

Guerrero Muerto vs. Rey Soldado

I like Rey and the idea of the time corps, but he's got a long way to go before he can even approach Guerrero Muerto.

Death's Head vs. Trickster

Trickster seems like a slightly worse version of DeCipher to me, so I think he'll be yet another guy to try and fail to stop Death's Head.

Captain Lucha vs. La Estrella

I love La Estrella, but you'd be sabotaging the main event your next big show if you have Captain Lucha lose here. I could see the whole match getting thrown out when Los Siete Pecados Capitales interfere though.

Bonus Predictions:

Who are the members (one is obviously Demon King) of Los Siete Pecados Capitales, and which sin does each represent?

Sloth: Panda Mask II - What's more slothful than a Panda.

Gluttony: Soda de Uva Jr - He's the incarnation of unhealthy dietary habits. :p

Greed: El Ladron - Who better than a thief.

Lust: California Love Machine - I mean it's in his name.

Pride: El Orgulloso - His name is literally the Proud One.

Envy: DupliKate - I know EMLL are male wrestlers only by default, but her gimmick is perfect for Envy.

Wrath: El Toro de Oro - Bulls are pretty angry

Great first show.

Predictions:

Anarchist vs. Pyromaniac- Anarchist is the better worker. My guess is La Bestia gets involved to help.

Aprendiz Jr vs. DeCipher- tough call for me since they are really similar, good workers but not in EMLL style at all. I think DeCipher gets the win to keep his momentum up a little after the loss last week.

Guerrero Muerto vs. Rey Soldado-Muerto rolls over Rey

Death's Head vs. Trickster- Death's head keeps his streak going. Trickster might even be getting sacrificed.

Captain Lucha vs. La Estrella- no way the champ is losing before the big event.

Bonus Predictions:

Who are the members (one is obviously Demon King) of Los Siete Pecados Capitales, and which sin does each represent?

Sloth:

Gluttony: Cobra

Greed: Aztec Prince

Lust: California Love Machine

Pride: El Oro Del Toro

Envy:

Wrath: Demon King

Will try and come back before the next show gets posted to add answers but can't think of anyone at the moment. Not too confident in the sins I put them on but picked guys I usually sign in my games.

EMLL: Tales From The Multiverse

Hector Moreno: “Welcome to our second edition of Tales From the Multiverse! I’m Hector Moreno, and joining me here at the announcers desk are our fearless leader El Bandido and... Where’s Ramón?”

The camera pans around and spots Ramón attempting to flirt with a young single mother in the crowd. Receiving a slap for his trouble, he slowly makes his way back over to the announcer’s desk and takes a sip of his scotch.

El Bandido: “Don’t worry about it Ramón, nobody bats 100. Well, except yours truly of course.”

Ramón Delgado: “What? No, I asked her to slap me. I needed something to wake me up after hearing Hector going on non-stop about Captain Lucha before the show.”

Hector Moreno: “Speaking of Captain Lucha, he’ll be defending his title against La Estrella in our main event tonight!”

El Bandido: “That’s all my fault. I let that idiot get into my head and goad a title match out of me. I thought the man beast would put him down, but behind all that talk the guy can actually back it up. I don’t think he has what it takes to beat Captain Lucha, but he’ll make it a contest, and then Demon King gets to take on a worn down Captain in three days at Clash of the Multiverse.”

Hector Moreno: “Speaking of Demon King, when will we see this army?”

El Bandido: “Los Siete Pecados Capitales... just what does he have planned?”

Anarchist vs. Pyromaniac

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">

  • Pyromaniac comes out of the gates hot, landing clubbing blow after clubbing blow against Anarchist. The chaotic rudo does his best to withstand the assault, adopting a defensive stance and backing into the corner to defend himself.
  • Eventually Pyromaniac begins to run out of steam, as Anarchist begins to feel the impact of his blows lessen, he stages a comeback, tripping up Pyromaniac and bringing him down to the mat.
  • Pyromaniac gets in pockets of offense during the remainder of the match, but ultimately is no match for the crafty Anarchist, who locks him in the Anarchist’s Dream and gets him to submit.

Before Anarchist has time to recover, La Bestia Morada runs out of the backstage area, screaming incoherently as he charges into the ring. Anarchist attempts to evade the man-beast and make his exit but he doesn’t have the energy left.

La Bestia Morada savagely assaults Anarchist, tossing him around the ring like a ragdoll until he can no longer move. Regaining some measure of sanity, he begins to inspect Anarchist but does not find the Ring of Chaos on his person. Enraged, he looks as if he’ll continue the beatdown, but a horde of security guards flood the ring and subdue him, dragging him to the back

Hector Moreno: “I don’t think Anarchist is moving.”

Ramón Delgado: “He should be fine, I’m pretty sure I saw his arm twitch.”

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">

  • The crowd is once again relentlessly booing DeCipher. An accomplished former EMLL triple-crown winner and master technician, his inability to land a titanic punch, leap from the top rope or lay luchadores out with weapons are his biggest sins in the eyes of the fans.
  • Aprendiz Jr is a veteran of the squared circle and the crowd are firmly behind him to win.
  • The two make a contest of it, but Aprendiz Jr never really threatens to get the pinfall and looks to be firmly at the mercy of DeCipher. Just prior to the 13-minute mark, the veteran is Irish-whipped into the ropes and runs right into a Codebreaker on the rebound. 1-2-3, this one is over.

Guerrero Muerto vs. Rey Soldado

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">

  • Rey Soldado looks equal parts determined and terrified as the match gets underway. The leader of the time corps is still relatively new to EMLL, but has promised to do everything he can to drive out the various threats to the Multiverse congregating in the Prime Universe.
  • Guerrero Muerto plants himself in the middle of the ring like a statue, waiting for Rey Soldado to approach. Everytime he does, Guerrero Muerto absorbs his attack without flinching and launches him across the ring and into the ropes. In one particularly brutal incident, Rey Soldado falls through the ropes and is laid out on the floor.
  • Everyone expects Rey to stay down for the countout, but he gets to his feet and makes his way back into the ring. Ducking under a clothesline from Guerrero Muerto, he kicks him in the chest and then plants him into the mat with a vicious DDT.
  • Guerrero Muerto immediately rises to his feet, hooks his leg around the shocked Rey Soldado and hits him with the Graveyard Shift followed by the 1-2-3.

Hector Moreno: “There’s history there between Soldado and Muerto, you can see it in Soldado’s eyes. Just what that history is he hasn’t said. He looked completely outmatched in there, but you have to admire him for even stepping into the ring.”

El Bandido: “More than that, he asked me for the match. That man might have the biggest ‘guts’ in the Multiverse.”

Ramón Delgado: “Or the smallest brain.”

El Bandido: “Porque no los dos?”

Snake King appears at the entrance of the arena and begins laughing, pointing at the immobile Guerrero Muerto who remains in the ring.

Snake King: “Great performance! Seven and a half minutes? To bring down that guy? I’m not even sure why I’m having this match with you on Saturday. It’s going to be a big waste of my time, and only serve to embarrass you. After I beat you I was going to harness you energy and feed it to the Serpent, but based on that sorry performance I think I’d better start looking elsewhere. Mortifying, if that’s the best the Hellmouth has to offer they might as well close up shop now.”

The arena is dead silent as they wait for Guerrero Muerto to respond. The commander of the armies of the Hellmouth lifts his fist above his head, snapping his fingers. Suddenly the arena is plunged into darkness. Not more than 10 seconds later, light returns and Guerrero Muerto is nowhere to be found. But Snake King is still where he was, only now he is lying flat on his back unconscious.

Death’s Head makes his entrance carrying a spike. Sitting atop the spike is the bloodied mask of Dolphin Master. Shockwaves erupt through the crowd with hushed murmurs popping up all over the arena. The announce team quickly clarify that Dolphin Master is alive and well, the mask on display is only a copy Death’s Head is using to intimidate his opponent. But it takes a long time for the live crowd to recover, the utter silence continues well into the match between Death’s Head and Trickster.

  • The match is being officiated by Lucha Ref, a referee who was revealed to be a spy from the Dark Universe in 2019. He has made a habit of calling everything in Tricksters favour, leading to many unearned victories for the Dark universe competitor.
  • Death’s Head is completely unworried by the presence of Lucha Ref. Every time he threats to cheat, Death’s Head glares at him and points to the spike with the bloodied replica of Dolpin Master’s mask.
  • For his part, Trickster puts in a good showing, taking Death’s Head off his feet several times and even securing a (fast) two count at one point. Death’s Head eventually gains the momentum with a serious of devastating impact moves, before following up with his signature Powerbomb.
  • Lucha Ref is hesitant to count the pinfall, but thinks better of it after glancing at the bloodied spike. He reluctantly drops to the mat and counts the pinfall victory for Death’s Head.

La Estrella makes his entrance to the ring for his title match, but he doesn’t stop to showboat and heads straight for the announcer’s desk, grabbing a microphone and demands El Bandido join him in the ring.

La Estrella: “Where’s Cyclops? I want him out here right now! He blindsided me last week, what the hell does he mean ‘at the Destiny Crisis, the Hollywood Luchador will meet his end’? I’m too young and handsome to die. The world might not recover from the grief!”

El Bandido: “You can’t honestly be serious? Why are you worried about that crackpot Cyclops and his ‘predictions’?”

La Estrella: “I had one of my P.A.s look it up, and he’s been right about everything he’s ever predicted! I want him out here right now and I want an explanation!” If he thinks he can just stroll out and threaten a Hollywood megastar then an eye is not the only thing he’s missing.”

El Bandido: “Hector, is that true? He’s right every time?”

Hector Moreno: “Yes sir.”

El Bandido: “Well never mind that. Focus on your title match, then we’ll talk.”

La Estrella: “...Fine, but the second I win this title I want that one-eyed freak out here and begging. The nerve of him to suggest I’m going to die. I want him to admit that he made a mistake, and he better get down and grovel. He needs to beg for forgiveness!”

Captain Lucha vs. La Estrella

Campeonato Del Mundo Title Match

<div style="padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #C2C2C2; max-width:100%;box-shadow: 0 1px 3px ";">

  • The bell rings and La Estrella launches himself into Captain Lucha, surprising the veteran and bringing him down. Laying into him in the corner, La Estrella is approaching the match like a savage brawler rather than the showman high-flier he normally is.
  • Getting his bearings, Captain Lucha overpowers him and throws the Hollywood Luchador across the ring, allowing him room to recover and get back into the match.
  • The two men go back and forth, momentum swinging minute to minute. The crowd are red-hot, totally engrossed with the action in the ring. If they were expecting a cookie cutter affair with taunting and tomfoolery they’ve been completely surprised so far.
  • La Estrella catches Captain Lucha with a superkick and immediately joins him on the mat, locking him in the Superstar lock. The Captain is screaming in pain as he’s stretched like a surfboard in the air. The crowd scream out in panic, genuinely worried that he’ll tap under the stress. Eventually they begin to stomp and clap their hands; a chant breaks out ‘CAP-TAIN’, ‘CAP-TAIN’.
  • The champion frees an arm, driving an elbow down into La Estrella’s superstar face. The Hollywood Luchador panics, releasing the hold and rolling out of the ring, checking his face to ensure the goods haven’t been damaged.
  • Captain Lucha dominates the next part of the match, landing several big hits and scoring a few near-falls. Following a 2.9 count that leaves the fans in a frenzy, the champion climbs to the top rope and attempts his patented Mexican Death (top rope double footed stomp). La Estrella rolls out of the way at the last second and Captain Lucha’s feet hit the mat, badly damaging his ankles.
  • La Estrella hits an Enziguri and heads to the turnbuckle for the Hollywood Press (split-legged Moonsault). Somehow Captain Lucha manages to get his knees up and hit La Estrella just before impact.”
  • Struggling to his feet, his ankles still badly hurt, Captain Lucha knows he shouldn’t attempt another Mexican Death, but he does so, not knowing what else he can do to put the Hollywood Luchador down for good.
  • Captain Lucha leaps off the top turnbuckle as he did last time, but this time he successfully lands the Mexican Death. Even so, he screams in pain as his ankles make contact. Using every last ounce of his energy, he rolls onto La Estrella and makes the cover, securing his first title defence of the Campeonato Del Mundo.

Hector Moreno: “What a match! That was amazing, Captain Lucha pulls it off!”

Ramón Délgado: “By the skin of his teeth. If Cyclops hadn’t distracted La Estrella and put those thoughts into his head, we’d be looking a new 3-time world champion”.

Hector Moreno: “Well he didn’t win, and Captain Lucha is still the champ.”

El Bandido: “But at what cost?”

La Estrella leaves the ring, motioning to El Bandido to join him in the back. He still wants his answers. Reluctantly, El Bandido gets up and joins him backstage as Captain Lucha props himself up against the ropes and celebrates his win with the crowd.

After several minutes of thunderous applause, referee Benito Garcia props up Captain Lucha under his shoulder and looks to escort the champion backstage to seek medical treatment for his ankles. Before they can make it through the ropes, all lights with the exception of the one at the entrance doors darken. All eyes turn to the sole remaining source of light as Demon King appears.

1DcwJJY.jpg

Demon King: “Congratulations on your win Captain. You live to fight another day; this Saturday, in fact. I hope you’ve enjoyed your time with the title. You’ve done irreparable harm to the Multiverse by even taking it from me in the first place, but no matter. I’ll save what I still can once I regain it.”

“I hope you’ve been thinking hard on your sins. The things that you think make you weak, when in fact your denial of them is what prevents you from being strong. Prevents you from doing what needs to be done, whatever the cost may be. I pay any price to secure the result I need. Can you say the same Captain? Would you pay any price?”

Demon King approaches the ring, and suddenly six men appear from all areas in the crowd and converge on the ring. The seven men surround the ring, leaving Benito Garcia and Captain Lucha no room to escape.

JYAPShH.jpgVa6kHfY.jpg9athH4l.jpgMXdOrvx.jpgrQfvljN.jpgYQNeZGA.jpg

“Sloth, Greed, Pride, Lust, Gluttony, Envy... and the greatest of them all, the power which I champion, Wrath. You label Los Siete Pecados Capitales as wrong, immoral, flaws in the human psyche. I will educate you firsthand on how powerful these virtues can be.”

Captain Lucha prepares himself to fight, as hopeless as it will be 7 on 1 with no working ankles. But rather than enter the ring, Los Siete Pecados Capitales slowly ease away from the ring, leaving a pathway to backstage for Benito and Captain Lucha to use.

Demon King: “Go and have those ankles looked at Captain. I want you to stand and face me like a man when I take my title back.”

Benito Garcia escorts the champion backstage, the veteran looking equal parts relieved and confused.
