Option to turn off new worker generation

Recommended Posts

<p>I've made this exact suggestion literaly a post below this one. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

But the more the merrier. I can't possibly grasp why this has been taken out. It's ruining people's experience.</p><p> </p><p>

WMMA5 has it. TEW16 had it. I assume it's quite easy to reproduce.</p><p> </p><p>

People already made mods with LOTS of fictional workers with actual bios. I think we got that covered. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>For the default db and start, this is perfectly fine, but as soon as CV97 releases I'll play historic mods exclusively. Imo these mods just aren't playable at all right now. The new workers flood the gameworld and push the ACTUAL C-verse workers out which is quite frankly not what you want. I could live with a potential control option like in WMMA5 where you can basically force them to be cans.</p><p> </p><p>

I've tried to meddle with existing options but the only way is to remove all dojo's and that would be quite annoying.</p><p> </p><p>

It's weird that this option was just taken away instead of being replaced by another unrelated option. There's even an empty spot on the options screen where it used to be. Maybe there's some technical reason it's not there, but I doubt it.</p>

There is actually a workaround to stop new workers from entering the game world: Check that picture requirement is "On" and delete your entries in free pictures. No workers will be generated because there are no pictures for them.

<p>Auto-Fix Imbalances and Training Facilities are the only ways worker generation happens, AIUI. Wipe them and delete them and fictionals should stop... unfortunately that wipes out entire parts of the game... so... yeah...</p><p> </p><p>

Please bring back the choice of generating new workers? Or hell, go back to TEW 2016s system that wasn't tethered to Training Facilities and Auto-Fix.</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of, I'm making a new thread because it seems Announcers and Color Commentators and Referees aren't being made naturally anymore.</p>

I haven't thought about that, so I guess this works until the problem gets fixed. But this results in other problems like the impossibility to spawn announcers when a company randomly debuts in, say, Australia, where there's no announcers. I doubt announcers without work will move to Australia, though a system like that was in place in WMMA5. You'd also have to export the freeworkers to a separate db and import them back when you want them to start appearing.

You could edit the free pictures to not appear before a preferred date, perhaps. Maybe even have some that are set to only be used for announcers that can appear at any time.

In addition to all of the points made here can we at least be able to control the amount of random gens? The only way to really do that is to set the dojos to have very low output, which could hurt years down the line.

In the default data there are a good amount of talent under 25, but many of them will get displaced by generated workers simply due to the excess, and half of them going directly to a promotion (because dojos are the only way they get produced). In previous games I played the default data with “Very low” new worker generation before turning it to medium later on. Right now it’s just constant at one level the entire time.

Well it's a little more work because there are no advanced filters in free pictures (you can only filter for missing picture) but you can delete all entry's except for the entry's for announcers/color commentators. Or delete all entries and add announcer/color free picks back in after. Free pictures can be restricted by role.

This way announcer's could still be generated.
