TheBigMan
I normally play the real world mods but I want to give the CornellVerse a chance. So, I was wondering what company would be best to start with and how to get to grips with CornellVerse.
BrokenCycle
Download the 2005 Cornellverse mod and play as MAW.
Kluge
I think TCW is probably the best bet. Big enough to have written guys with a product that once you learn is pretty friendly and they have enough variety for a person to apply what they want (more brawling or more technical/international flair with the connection to PGHW or more characters like Giant Tana for example.) Also, it has the benefit of a deep discussion thread where you can see the evolution from "oh no what am I going to do" to "actually this is pretty great." Of course, exploring the indy scene is tons of fun. CZCW is my favorite. It's closest real-world analog would be PWG but if the crew behind it were lucha fans instead of early 90's Japan tape trading guys.
thecoolestjedi12
100% agreed with TCW. Easy product, you are pretty secure from being excluded from signing bigger names if you chose to, the product is friendly to trying to create new stars or continue with your current ones. You are in a great spot to just learn the Cverse from TCW alone. The biggest allure of the Cverse to me is the fantasy aspect of it and the best thing would be to just explore the wrestlers and companies while you play because all of them have a pretty cool and unique story. Turkeyninja
Download the 2005 Cornellverse mod and play as MAW. I like this idea, but start with MOSC instead. I know it's all personal preference but growing up I liked ECW more then WWF and I find MOSC to be closer to ECW then DAVE is (was). Canonically, both companies have shut down a decade ago so you're going to get to play them in TEW 2020 unless you go to the editor and open them back up, then you're going to hire your own workers and at that point it's no different then simply starting a new company. Irish Wolf
Which real world companies do you like. There is undoubtedly one like that in the C-Verse. And that's probably the best company to play.
jeronullet
Start small and simple, probably NYCW or FCW or MAW
TakerNGN74
If you're wanting to start as a smaller company I would personally go with FCW as they are easy to manage and theirs some potential for growth. I may be biased though since I once ran a 26 year long save with them in TEW 2013 <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
Matt_Black
In 2016, I would have said OLLIE, no question. In 2020, they're not a bad choice for a first timer, but their product has changed slightly so if you're new to both the game AND the Cornellverse, it might be a bit tricky. QAW is pretty easy and quite a bit of fun.
MikeSc
I would look at each company's Product and figure out your promotion that way. Do you want to be graded on Performance or Pop? What kind of match ratios do you want to book on TV and PPV? What kind of matches do you want to book? All of that will vary by what Product you use. Teh_Showtime
I’ll second QAW. There’s no competition in the region, and there’s plenty of women available to pick from, including Mexico and Japan imports who would do well. Occasionally USPW might take someone but it seems like they let ladies go just as often. It feels the closest to prime MAW for me in terms of a tiny company with enough talent to last you for years. Now, neither of those two big companies let women go to the extent they did in 2016, but, if you get up to Small, are good with finances, and have a good Negotiating skill, you should be able to snake a few away from them when their contracts are up. Matt_Black
I normally play as either AEW or WWE. I’m tempted to start as TCW as well. If you like AEW, then QAW is very similar, at least in terms of product (albeit with an all-women roster). - Big focus on tag teams in particular and stables in general - While they have faces and heels, it isn't enforced, so you can throw face vs. face and heel vs. heel without penalty - Big focus on story and high-flying Also, one of the starting storylines is about two tag teams trying to find out who's the BEST tag team, and no, neither one is currently the champions. That's pretty much 75% of the Young Bucks feuds so far in AEW.

WWE then you're looking at TCW or SWF depending on the era of WWE you like to play it.

QAW was my first long save in this game, I got around 5 years in and hit just under titanic. The game was still fundamentally broken though so most of my growth came from wrestleworld and giant attendances, and CWA went under early so I got to sign their women. It’s a fair point about CWA if they can actually sustain themselves long enough to pick your roster away.
