Sadaharu Jimbo

Japanese Wrestling was in the shadows after the “Giant Era” ended in 1933 under suspicious circumstances regarding the legitimacy of the sport. For the next 27 years, no wrestling shows took place with the negative stench of the Giant Era still in the air. That was until 1960 when Golden Canvas Grappling brought the sport back with a competitive and serious style. GCG was a success, but it wasn’t just based on the name. Their first ace Sadaharu Jimbo led the company to success that hadn’t been seen in over 30 years. Sadaharu Jimbo lived by a style of never giving up till his last breath. This brought him a lot of popularity and admiration from the crowd and his peers, for his long and physical battles. Reporters labeled Jimbo the “King of GCG” for his extensive success as the head of the promotion, Jimbo responded that when he is in the ring he is on the king’s road to wrestling royalty. This garnered his style the name “King’s Road” which became synonymous with his never give up, never say die attitude. His superhuman ability dwindled as the 1980s went forward, his body broke down, yet he kept fighting, following the mantra he went by his whole career. He followed the King’s Road, until in 1990 as reigning GCG World Champion he suffered a back injury that was kryptonite to the King, he would be forced to retire and decided to take a hiatus from the sport.

Sadaharu’s style inspired many wrestlers to follow suit and have a never give up, never say die attitude. This resulted in hard-hitting contests that lasted longer and were more abundant than ever before. Days off were seen as weak, scars from battles were honorable, and to lose was shameful. Seeing GCG drift away from the ideals he set Sadaharu opened up Pride Glory Honor Wrestling in 1996 with his King’s Road style as the main ingredient in the company. In the coming years legends like Mito Miwa, Shuji Inukai, Nobuatsu Tatsuko, and Yoshimi Mushashibo led the “Golden Generation” of PGHW. Hard-hitting, long and grueling matches would follow for years to come. They followed the “King’s Road” style like never before seen, in GCG Sadaharu had been the main arbiter of King’s Road, but now most of the wrestlers in PGHW had adopted the philosophy. Bruises, stitches, scars, broken bones, concussions were abundant during this time. But with Sadaharu Jimbo at the helm, PGHW saw great success, but soon the same fate that fell upon Sadaharu came to his first crop of stars. His right-hand man Nobuastu Tatsuko would be the first to retire due to knee and back issues in 2014, also helping his decision was Sadaharu giving him ownership of the company trusting him with keeping his legacy going. Nobuastu had been learning for years how to run the company and was ready for the challenge. Little did he know keeping the style his mentor laid the groundwork of PGHW with, would lead to further disappointment. Later in 2014 Mito Miwa broke his back and doctors informed him if he wrestled again he would be paralyzed. A few months after that news, Shuji Inukai announced his retirement due to a torn ACL. Shuji began booking for the promotion though, taking on the task of maintaining PGHW’s greatness between the ropes. Lastly, arguably the best of the Golden Generation Yoshimi Mushashibo would retire in 2019 not wanting to suffer the same fate as his three other Golden Generation counterparts. Mushashibo retired in vastly better shape than others from the Golden Generation and had a vision of moving Japan away from the King’s Road style. How would he do it though?

Nobuastu Tatsuko | Shuji Inukai | Yoshimi Mushashibo

The Golden Generation ended in 2015 with the retirement of Shuji Inukai. PGHW had failed to build new stars other than a minimal few and with the tsunami of 2016, the finances started going in the red. Luckily Tatsuko & Inukai were financially savvy enough to keep PGHW afloat but just barely, really counting on Yoshimi Mushashibo who had been able to still bring in boatloads of fans even with the dire economic times. When Mushashibo retired in 2019 Shuji Inukai became hopeless. He knew with the economy still rebuilding itself, they needed Mushashibo too stick around too stay in business. Shuji Inukai tried talking his former tag team partner out of retirement but knew his friend didn’t want the same endgame as his three Golden Generation counterparts. Yoshimi was adamant and had his last match in June 2019 in a packed Kobe Football Stadium where he lost to Glory Crown holder and his protégé Masaru Ugaki. After this Shuji Inukai saw the writing on the wall. He knew PGHW wouldn’t be able to be profitable without Mushashibo, Nobuastu Tatsuko held on to hope while Shuji was ever the pessimist rolling his eyes whenever Nobuastu said they must keep Sadaharu Jimbo’s legacy alive. Tatsuko’s worry led to him doubling down on King’s Road holding, even more, shows labeling his stars the Iron Men of Japan. After two months of losing hordes of money and worker displeasure from the wear and tear put on them, rumors began swirling of PGHW closing down. Yoshimi Mushashibo heard rumors of the possible closure and contacted his former tag team partner to learn what was going on. Inukai informed him of the company hemorrhaging money and that Tatsuko has been a mess trying to keep the company afloat. He’s all over the place and the company may not last much longer. Mushashibo was in shock at the overall disarray of the company since his retirement. His legacy was in that company, his friend's legacy was in that company, and his childhood inspiration Sadaharu Jimbo’s legacy was in that company. He had to do something, so he began talks with Inukai to overthrow Nobuastu as the owner and get himself the ownership. Inukai was unsure at first of doing it behind Nobuastu’s back but as they continued to lose money in September, a cool Million to be specific, Inukai knew Nobuastu had to go. He first talked to Nobuastu about selling to which he quickly refused, saying he wouldn’t disappoint Sadaharu. Knowing they didn’t have much time before the company went on an unstoppable road of destruction, Shuji Inukai and Yoshimi Mushashibo initiated a coup and convinced the PGHW Council to give Yoshimi Mushashibo control of PGHW over Nobuastu Tatsuko. Shuji’s testimony about how Tatsuko had lost his mind gave the Council complete confidence in their decision to remove him from power and install PGHW’s most prominent star as their new owner. The news came on October 4th 2019. Yoshimi & Shuji held a joint press conference to announce Nobuastu Tatsuko’s immediate removal as the owner of PGHW and Yoshimi Mushashibo being publically acknowledged as PGHW’s owner. Yoshimi’s key quote from came at the end of the press conference when he said, “Changes will be coming, too long wear and tear brought down the quality of our wrestlers. A new period is upon us though, a Golden Dynasty is upon us and King’s Road has ended.”

PGHW Special Message

t3ykCPR.jpg8TOmX0e.jpg

Yoshimi Mushashibo | Shuji Inukai

[After the shocking announcement of
Yoshimi Mushashibo
taking over PGHW with the help of
Shuji Inukai
, fans and wrestlers were shocked by the announcement that King’s Road, the style PGHW was built on would be no more. The announcement got people talking. It got purists up in arms but got the eyes of the puroresu world as a whole. Yoshimi & Shuji let the announcement simmer for a few days until they announced a Special Message to the fans of PGHW about the future of PGHW on October 11th.]

Shuji Inukai- I know many were shocked by the announcement of Mushashibo-San taking over PGHW and Nobuastu Tatsuko being replaced. We also have heard the passionate reaction to the end of King’s Road. But, let us be clear, what we do is what is best for PGHW, we will give you fans the best puroresu we possibly can. These changes were necessary for that to happen. We hope you allow us an opportunity to show you the best of PGHW. To tell you about what changes will be made to ensure the highest level of performance is seen in PGHW, welcome PGHW Owner Yoshimi Mushashibo.

Yoshimi Mushashibo- For many years King’s Road was the cornerstone of Pride Glory Honor Wrestling. Wrestlers like me, Inukai-San, PRIDE Koiso, Mito Miwa, and many more would put our bodies on the line every night to secure victories. This led to many extraordinary encounters but also left many of our bodies broken down and barely mobile. The never quit attitude of King’s Road made it shameful for wrestlers to ask for days off, to take care of themselves. We were meant to wear scars on our bodies like badges of honor, when they were an emblem of weakness. Every amazing match that happened could’ve been ten times better if we were at 100%. But none of us were ever 100%. The expectation was to wrestle every night for months on end with only a month break in between. We were expected to give every match our all. I would partake in multiple 60 minute matches a week, Inukai wrestled with concussions, Miwa took two hour ice baths every night. That was just us, we were the top. Many others came and were broken by King’s Road, and never the same again.

Now is the time to put our wrestlers first. To make sure they are fully prepared for battle when they get in the ring. We all want to see the best matches in the world in PGHW, and to do that we must make sure our wrestlers are at 100% every time they step in the ring. For that reason, Inukai and I have decided to lower the number of shows on tours to minimize wear and tear on workers. Also, time limits will now be strictly enforced. All title matches will have a 60 Minute Time Limit, and any non-title matches will have a 30 Minute Time Limit unless otherwise agreed on. Referees will meet with Doctors after matches to be able to inform them if they should check up on any of the competitors. This will hopefully entice wrestlers who are too proud to ask for help, get the help they need. These are measures to ensure the safety of our wrestlers is put front and center above all else. We hope you understand and give us an opportunity to show you that this will create an era of prosperity in PGHW. With King's Road gone a Golden Dynasty will begin.

PGHW October Review

After the big announcement of Yoshimi Mushashibo taking over PGHW and with that the end of the King’s Road style, PGHW was shaken to its very core.

ELhtKkB.png?2uUEI1lz.png?1

[Avalanche Takano & SATO]

[Prior to the change, September saw two title changes with Avalanche Takano regaining the PGHW Historical Japan Title from SATO. These two have been in a rivalry over the title since SATO beat Avalanche for it in April of 2019. It seems to be a trend now that whenever one defends the title against the other a new champion is crowned. Will Avalanche break that trend in his current reign?]

[Reaver & Gonnohyoe Kada]

[Also in September Gaijin lightweight Reaver won his first championship in PGHW after a year of showing how tough he is. He took down the 300 Pound Gonnohyoe Kada in a David vs. Goliath match-up. Kada had a severe weight advantage over Reaver, but Reaver’s ruthless attitude would best Kada with his signature Hell Fire Kick (Backwards Heel Kick) and Tumbleweed Splash (Frog Splash). Reaver helping prove PGHW isn’t just the land of Heavyweights!]

[seiji Jimbo & Masaru Ugaki]

[October would prove to be historic in more ways than one. With the announcement of new ownership and an addition of new mechanisms to put the wrestlers of PGHW first, the PGHW locker room was a hot spot for radical disagreements. The Glory Crown Champion Masaru Ugaki was on his mentor Yoshimi Mushashibo’s side, which got him a “teacher’s pet” nickname from some in the locker room. One man many people wanted to hear from about the changes was Seiji Jimbo, nephew of Sadaharu Jimbo. King’s Road was Sadaharu’s mantra his entire career, his legacy and now it would be pushed away. Seiji’s reaction was indifferent, he said “Whether it’s King’s Road or something else PGHW has the best wrestlers in the world and I will still prove that I deserve to be champion of them.” Seiji has been focused on becoming Glory Crown champion for the last few years and he would do that at Night of KINGS beating Masaru Ugaki with three Jimbo Drivers (Reverse Brainbuster). Jimbo finally was able to best Ugaki, their 60-Minute Draw at Night of GLORY earlier this year left many fans clamoring for more and not only did they get more they got a new champion to boot. After the match Jimbo celebrated in the ring and thanked all of the fans who have supported him, saying no matter the circumstances presented in life if you put 100% effort into your goals you will achieve them. In his post match interview Seiji was asked what his uncle would think of his championship win. Seiji said he hopes he made his uncle proud and will continue to make the Jimbo name synonymous with greatness.]

I'm a little confused by the latest update. Have you played up to October 2020 and plan to post shows past that date, or is this supposed to be a "what's happened since TEW2016" thing? Doesn't help that I haven't been following PGHW...

Lol nah I’m going over the backstory prior to the beginning of 2020 when I said October it’s 2019.

This year has the background of all the drama behind it but as always it looks to be a classic tournament and a showing of the best tag teams in PGHW. Over the years the achievement has been held by the most notorious teams in the world and this year should be no different. As always the Glory Tag Crown holders are at the top of the block for favorites to win it that being </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Brute Kikuchi & BISON Yano</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> this year who have yet to win the tournament in their seven years as a tag team. Two-time winners </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>KitoGuchi</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>(Chojiro Kitoaji & Bussho Makiguchi) </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">look to make it the hat trick this year. They won it in 2016 and 2017 losing in 2018 in the Finals to The Ring Generals. Kitoaji has participated more in singles contest in 2019 but him and Makiguchi are still hailed as one of the best teams in PGHW. </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Masaru Ugaki & Ryoma Muruyama</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> make their tag return in the tournament after skipping last year with both men focusing on singles runs. With Masaru losing the Glory Crown in October he is trying to redeem himself alongside his long time friend to show the new teams of PGHW they are the number one team. Last year’s winners</span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong> The Ring Generals (Dean Waldorf & Marv Statler)</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">are defending their title in this year’s tournament, will they be able to make it back to back wins and show their bond is stronger than all others? </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Akinori Kwakami & Noriyori Sanda </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">will be taking a shot at the gold this year, both have won the tournament before with different partners in the past but can their tandem payoff after being together for five years? </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Beast & West (Danny Cavanagh & Timmy West)</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> made their way to PGHW after NOTBW joined with CGC to make CWA in Canada. Both Cavanagh & West decided CWA wasn’t for them seeing better fortunes in the land of the rising sun. Now they’re trying to make their mark and get their first achievement as a team in PGHW, will this be the year for the Canadian gaijins?</span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong> Haranobu Kobayashi & Tsurayuki Kamachi</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> have been teaming on and off since 2017 but really picked up their teaming in 2019. Kamachi has yet to make any sort of an impact besides a Historical Japan title reign in 2016. Kobayashi still is looking to make an impact too but many see him as a future star being only 27 and a 300 lb Hammer Fist. Kobayashi just needs some polishing before he reaches his pinnacle but don’t count him and Kamachi out they’re the dark horse in this year’s block. </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Tetsunori Yasuda &</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> his protégé </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Hirobumi Takimoto</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> got into the tournament more based on Yasuda’s longevity than their tag team acumen. Yasuda has been the almost man his whole career. He would never win the big matches but always come so close. Can he take Takimoto to the big time or will Yasuda fail once more?</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

This year’s tournament was action-packed and full of excitement like all previous years. </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>KitoGuchi</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> maintained a spot at the top throughout the Series only securing a spot in the finals on the seventh night.</span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong> The Ring Generals </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">seemed poised to get the top spot up until the seventh night when their loss to Beast & West caused their downfall. Yet they were able to make it to the finals by beating </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Masaru Ugaki & Ryoma Muruyama</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> who they tied with in points and had a draw with earlier in the tournament. There is some resentment from the gaijin team for having to compete twice in one night but that’s what the circumstances called for unfortunately for them. Ugaki was coming off his Glory Crown loss to Seiji Jimbo in October so he was looking for redemption but Muruyama’s knee problems following Night 1 would lead to a bad spell from Night 2-4 with Ugaki really picking up the slack the rest of the way to go on a three match win streak to end the tournament. The Glory Tag Crown holders </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Brute Kikuchi & BISON Yano</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> didn’t have the performance they’d hoped for coming in 4th tied with two other teams. Their final record was 4-3 and those three loses mean three teams will be coming for a title opportunity in the future, so Brute & BISON will have their hands full.</span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong> Akinori Kwakami & Noriyori Sanda</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> also finished 4-3 but they’re one of the teams to get a win over the Glory Tag Crown holders Brute & BISON so a title shot will likely be in their future. </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Beast & West</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> were the spoilers for The Ring Generals on night seven getting the win to stop them from getting an assured spot in the finals. So Beast & West may be getting in the ring with The Ring Generals again to see if they can once again get one over on the </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>‘Old School Siblings’</em></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">. </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Haranobu Kobayashi & Tsurayuki Kamachi </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">weren’t expected to do too much in this year’s Series but they did one thing that shocked many getting a win over the Glory Tag Crown holders Brute & BISON. This win will definitely help Haranobu & Tsurayuki get an opportunity they have both wanted for a few years now. Lastly, </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Tetsunori Yasuda & Hirobumi Takimoto</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> scored an abysmal 0 points which is rare in a PGHW Series and is definitely a cause of concern for Yasuda who may see opportunities pass him by because of this horrible performance. In post match interviews Yasuda was getting more frustrated throughout the series, complaining about everyone putting the blame on him and not noticing Takimoto's lack of experience.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

<div style="color: black; font-family:Roboto;font-size:10px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;border-top:6px solid black;"></div></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Now heading into December’s Wrestling Series KitoGuchi have their title shot guaranteed for the special January 4th show in Osaka to celebrate the New Year, so KitoGuchi will have off for the Night of WRESTLING in December. But </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Brute Kikuchi & BISON Yano</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> won’t be as lucky, Yoshimi Mushashibo announced </span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Akinori Kwakami & Noriyori Sanda</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Georgia;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> getting a title shot against the champions at the show. <p>I love the deep backstory you're doing. Having an idea of why things are the way that they are, especially in these Japanese companies, is very smart.</p><p> </p><p>

It was a great read, especially the Tag tournament. You're diving in head first and I'm loving it</p>

I really love the backstory you're providing to give some context. PGHW has long been my favorite of the Japanese companies (though because of DarK_RaideR and Pistol Pete Hall and Big Bruiser Findlay I've become a big BCG fan, PGHW always remains the gold standard for me). I think you're laying some great groundwork.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the love. I really wanted to show where we’re coming from before 2020 started so there was some idea of all the goings on in the company. I’m glad y’all have been enjoying it :D.

PGHW December Review

zZjgrZe.png?15wiY45k.png?1

(Kozue Kawashima | Seiji Jimbo)

Going into December PGHW is in turmoil with Kozue Kawashima calling those who agree with straying away from King’s Road “weak” and calling Seiji Jimbo a traitor to his uncle Sadaharu, bringing dishonor to the Jimbo name. Seiji was unbothered by the words, saying “Kozue always needs find a way to say he’s the best without holding the Crown.” Kozue faced off with Seiji after a ten men tag during the Wrestling Series Night 4 and within seconds hit him with a thunderous slap, before mounting him and raining down strikes on the champion. Kozue needed to be restrained with Seiji defenseless bleeding from the nose. Kozue used that battered image of Seiji Jimbo as proof of just how weak he is. Heading into Night of WRESTLING where Jimbo will team with Beast & West against Kozue and The Ring Generals, tensions are high and Jimbo could finally lose his temper on Kozue.

(Brute Kikuchi & Bison Yano | Akinori Kwakami & Noriyori Sanda)

The Glory Tag Crown holders Brute Kikuchi & BISON Yano didn’t have the Elite Tag Series performance they were looking for. They got three losses in the round robin affair. One of the teams that got the better of them was Akinori Kwakami & Noriyori Sanda. The two veterans have gelled together well since joining forces in 2015 even getting a Glory Tag Crown reign in 2017. They haven’t turned into a legendary tag team as of yet, but with a championship win here, they could on their way. But if Brute & BISON have anything to say about it their reign won’t be a four month flash in the pan. They’ll be able to redeem their Elite Tag Series performance and go on to defend the titles against KitoGuchi on January 4th in Osaka.

(Reaver | Stone Yoshikawa)

Reaver has been ruthless since his International Title win over Gonnohyoe Kada in September. He made it a point of hitting his Hell Fire Kick (Backwards Heel Kick) to put down opponents since then and it has gotten him win after win. But during a 6-man tag in November Stone Yoshikawa was able to roll up Reaver for a flash pinfall to earn a shot at his title though. Now with opportunity in front of him can Yoshikawa capitalize or will Reaver put down another opponent?

Chairs were being thrown, fans were running away, and the announcers were going crazy over this wild fight. Cavanagh & West got a hold of Jimbo and got him away from Kozue. But Kozue was screaming at Jimbo for being a coward for being held back, as Kozue was being blocked by young boys.

Post-Match: Bison Yano was checking on a spent Brute Kikuchi, when Akinori Kwakami came in and hit Yano in the back with a chair. Kwakami continued his assault on Yano before turning his attention to Kikcuhi, pummeling him with fists and forearms. Yano recovered while his partner was being beaten and when he saw the situation he started going after Kwakami like a wild bull throwing Kwakami into the corner and raining strikes all over him. Then from the backstage area came Kozue Kawashima. Kawashima turns Yano around and hits a stiff forearm that dazes the big man. Noriyori Sanda jumps at Yano’s legs to trip him down and Kawashima hit a field goal kick to Yano’s face that knocks him out cold… The crowd is roaring with boos as Kawashima just scowls and tells Sanda & Kwakami to get on Brute. As they put boots to Brute, Kawashima gets a microphone. He says “For years we put our bodies on the line for the honor of puroresu. Then you tell us to relax. To go to the spa! That our scars are a WEAKNESS!!! Yoshimi Mushashibo is the weak. He was not able to live up to the moniker of the Ace…. HE LEFT!!!.... He was weak and now he wants to comeback and make the whole company weak… I have other plans though... We have other plans. Me, Kwakami, and Sanda! We will be the saviors of this company. The King’s Road will never end, we will wipe out the weakness from PGHW and we will take it over in the name of King’s Road… 2020 will be the year we save Pride Glory Honor Wrestling. We are the PILLARS M.M.X.X!!!”

Kawashima, Sanda, & Kwakami pose with their arms raised high, ending 2019 standing tall!!

Post-Match Comments:

Magnum Kobe - “I fought my hardest to get where I am now. I beat the very best wrestlers and have now made it to my peak… Never in one year in PGHW have I gotten my shoulders pinned to mat. Not one time… People call me dangerous… I say yeah… People call me brave. I say yeah… Soon people will call me Champion.”

Masaru Ugaki & Ryoma Muruyama (Ugaki) - “The end of 2019 has been tough, but no one better forget I held the Glory Crown for most of this year. I may not hold it now but it just takes me a few seconds…” (Muruyama) – “2019 has taught me one thing. Your roots must be strong for you to grow. My roots and your [ugaki] roots are our tag team. We were the best tag team PGHW had seen, but our separation led to our failures. Distractions led us away from each other after you won the Glory Crown, but now we’ve returned and we will make our roots strong again.”

Reaver - “Four defenses in three months. PGHW isn’t the land of the heavyweights, it’s my domain now. You can line up any challenger for me and I’ll knock them out… My Kick will knock anyone out… Try me you b******.”

[Seiji Jimbo storms past the press area obviously pissed off about his brawl with Kozue Kawashima. Danny Cavanagh & Timmy West take the time to talk about showing The Ring Generals they aren’t the top gaijin team anymore.]

(Yoshimi Mushashibo & Shuji Inukai)

Before the start of 2020 could come though, Yoshimi Mushashibo & Shuji Inukai made one more special announcement. Both were wary about announcing too much over a short period of time. But with business slowly regaining steam since October they thought this announcement could really bolster things. Inukai starts off thanking everyone for tuning in and talks about how grateful he has been to fans for giving PGHW a chance following the end of King’s Road. As the margins show the changes made have been a success, for not only wrestlers but fans too. He assures everyone that anymore changes will be as successful as the previous. He said “We will be going forward with a new philosophy. A philosophy led by inclusion of many styles of puroresu… We look to bring all passionate wrestlers into our Pride. And that’s what we will do.” He introduces Yoshimi Mushashibo to give clearer indication as to what’s going on.

Mushashibo thanks Inukai for being by his side for this new era of Pride Glory Honor Wrestling. He continues “To make it clear what change will be pushed forward, Inukai and I along with the approval of the PGHW Council have made the decision to start a Junior Heavyweight Division. For a long time, PGHW was seen as the land of the heavyweight. Juniors were tossed aside labeled not strong enough to live up to the “King’s Road” mantra. No longer will Juniors be thrown aside , instead we will embrace them as a new part of our Pride. Along with this we have also made deals with Exodus 2010 and World Level Wrestling to exchange performers to have the most exciting matches in all the world with the best Juniors in all the world. We will bring the best Juniors in the world right here and now more than ever we will be able to find out who the best of the best really are… This new path forward will mean that a split in divisions will take place between the Heavyweights and Juniors. As we all know Heavyweights have a distinct advantage over Juniors that make it hard for Juniors to truly get foot hold in that division. Only a select few have been able to do so but the price they pay is bigger than any of the Heavyweights with their lack of mass in comparison. Juniors will now be able to truly show their skills to their fullest extent in the safest way for them… But I know some people who would meet the weight class of being a Junior are happy in the Heavyweight division like the International Champion Reaver for example. Anyone who would like to partake in the Heavyweight division is free to do so knowing the disadvantages they will be at. With the split a Glory Junior Crown will be created when the time is right, this means the Glory Heavyweight Crown will be exclusive to the Heavyweight Division while the Glory Junior Crown will be exclusive to Junior Division. Along with this the International Title will also be exclusive to the Heavyweight division and the Glory Tag Crown and Historical Japan Title will be open for either weight class… This is a new path for PGHW and we hope you come with us on this path through our Golden Dynasty.”

OOC: I wanted to thank CGN91 and Dark_Raider for recent influence on me in the way I'll be presenting tour shows, like how I posted Night of WRESTLING in this post. I also wanted to thank Hollywood and Joe Murphy for the past and present Dynasties allowing me to get a clearer view on how to book a Japanese Promotion.

-SATO challenged Avalanche Takano to match at Night of WRESTLING to try and win back the Historical Japan Title he lost to Takano September of 2019. SATO said he has beaten Takano for the title before referring to his win over him in April of 2019 to start the reign that would end at Takano’s hands. Now SATO defeated Simon Flemmingway as he keeps his eyes forward to his title shot against Takano on January 4th in Osaka.

-Danny Cavanagh scored a big win tonight, as he pinned the PGHW International Champion Reaver in the middle of the ring. Cavanagh and his partner Timmy West had been having issues with The Ring Generals since they beat the latter in the Elite Tag Series to keep them out of a guaranteed spot. After his win tonight though, the Toronto native gaijin challenged Reaver to an International Championship match on January 4th in Osaka. Reaver said “He wants a piece of me? He can come fight me!!! And he can get knocked the **** out!! Just like everyone else who faces me for this belt!” [48][52]

-Masaru Ugaki & Ryoma Muruyama have begun teaming together again since the Elite Tag Series in November. Muruyama was keen on reforming their team saying their roots are together and that Ugaki losing the Glory Crown was from the two drifting apart during his reign. Ugaki who’d not only lost the Glory Crown in October but then lost the Elite Tag Series in November, made it clear his losing ways were over. 2020 will be the year where all the gold comes to him. “The Glory Tag Crown and the Glory Crown, will mine!” [69]

-After getting a pin over the Glory Crown Holder, Akinori Kwakami grabs the Championship and stomps on Seiji Jimbo’s chest holding the championship high with Kozue Kawashima & Noriyori Sanda holding their hands high. Kwakami declares himself as the soon to be Glory Crown holder come January 4th in Osaka. Kawashima states that the PILLARS will cleanse PGHW of its weakness, and Seiji will be the first to fall. "The King's Road will never end!" [64]

Again I'd like to thank Dalton, CGN91, Dark_Raider, Hollywood, Joe Murphy, Historian, Southside_Hitmen, ReapeR, and so many others for helping me no matter how big or small to get to this point!!

6. Magnum Kobe & KitoGuchi (Chojiro Kitoaji & Bussho Makiguchi) def. Simon Flemmingway & The Ring Generals (Dean Waldorf & Marv Statler) in [17:40] when Chojiro Kitoaji pinned Simon Flemmingway after hitting KitoGuchi Destruction (Kitoaji Lariat off Bussho’s shoulder). [73]

<div style="font-weight:normal;border-top:2px solid #0077b3;"></div>

7. PILLARS MMXX (Kozue Kawashima TyLMGot.jpg?2, Akinori Kwakami TyLMGot.jpg?2, & Noriyori Sanda TyLMGot.jpg?2) def. Seiji Jimbo, Brute Kikuchi, & Bison Yano in [23:55] when Kozue Kawashima pinned Bison Yano following a Kawashima Driver 2005 (Kawashima has a Double Underhook, and lifted Yano onto his shoulder and flips him forward into a DDT). [76]

<div style="font-weight:normal;border-top:2px solid #0077b3;"></div>

-Avalanche Takano & SATO came to blows in their Six-Man, both attempted their finishing maneuvers with SATO going for the SATO Driver 10k (Airplane Spin Cradle Shock) but Takano would get out of it and try for Mountain Takano (Crucifix Powerbomb) only for SATO too slip out and hit an Enziguri that staggered Takano back to make a tag to Muruyama… After the match Ugaki, Muruyama, & Takano are together get interviewed and Ugaki & Muruyama say Takano has their bet to win in Osaka. Muruyama tells Takano that he will be a star in the future. When Takano moves on, Muruyama & Ugaki turn their focus to the Glory Tag Crown. They say whether it’s Brute Kikuchi & Bison Yano or Chojiro Kitoaji & Bussho Makiguchi they will become the Glory Tag Crown Holders. [64]

-As soon as the bell rings declaring Danny Cavanagh & Timmy West the winners of their tag match, Reaver wastes no time and does a nasty stomp to the back of Cavanagh’s head. Timmy West tries to run in for the save but Reaver catches him as he comes in with the Hell Fire Kick (Backward Heel Kick) and knocks out West. Reaver leaves the ring and rips his International Title away from the broadcasting area. Cavanagh checks on West and the Beast is seething as Reaver hits the top of the entrance way he points to Cavanagh and mouths “You’re Next.” [52]

-KitoGuchi get ready for their Glory Tag Crown shot in two days in Osaka teaming with Magnum Kobe here. The Ring Generals are still upset over losing the Finals of the Elite Tag Series to KitoGuchi, and still blame the loss on the unfair outcome of them having to fight a tiebreaker match on the same night. They took out their frustration on Bussho’s legs, but before they could do him in Bussho tagged in Magnum Kobe and he showed why he’s one of the hottest stars in wrestling. He kicked the sweat beads off Simon Flemmingway’s chest and then hit some excellent high-risk maneuvers. Kobe was taking in the crowd’s admiration a lot and was reluctant to tag but did and allowed KitoGuchi to get the win and some momentum for their title shot in two days. After the match Magnum Kobe didn’t join KitoGuchi for the post-match interview instead was still out milking the crowd’s reaction for him. Both Kitoaji & Makiguchi agree that they’ve been on a roll, they aren’t taking Brute & Bison lightly but they are confident at the end of the day “…the best Tag Team in the World will win.” [69]

-Bison Yano & Brute Kikuchi were the first victims of PILLARS MMXX at Night of WRESTLING, when the champions retained against Akinori Kwakami & Noriyori Sanda. Both Yano & Kikuchi carry scars from that assault with Kikuchi having tape on his neck and shoulders, while Yano had a knee brace on. That was the physical scars, but it seems some mental scars were left too as Kikuchi & Yano were ravaged monsters in this match. Their rage would leave an opening for Kwakami take advantage and kick out the knee of Yano, leading to PILLARS MMXX really going to town on the injury. Enough was enough and a team on team brawl broke out with both sides and leading to all members out on the floor except the legal men Kawashima & Yano. Kawashima saw this opportunity and took it pinning Yano ahead of his & Kikuchi’s title defense in Osaka. Following the match Kawashima gathered up his confidants Kwakami & Sanda and pointed out how they were 2-0 so far against Seiji and their good fortunes would only continue. Kawashima gave the center over to Kwakami who said “Seiji didn’t deserve the last name Jimbo, and in Osaka he will embarrass him so much his uncle will disown him.” [64]

Really enjoying the presentation. I'm curious who you're going to build into the next generation of PGHW -- my money is on Avalanche.

Love the first breadcrumbs you spread around. PILLARS is a great idea , a great first counterpart for your new direction of Pride Glory Honor Wrestling!

Enjoying the presentation here. Always fun to look at PGHW game. Good luck.

Thank you for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it. This had been in my mind for monthes so now finally getting it posted feels so great.
