Oh, sign me up for this! Great stuff. I loved playing the Montreal Aftermath Mod with WCW on 2016. A clean Sting win and nWo implosion was the direction WCW should have taken after Starrcade.

Side note, your picture for "Brian Adams" is Bryan Clark/Wrath on the first page.

WCW Monday Nitro January Week 3, 1998 - Episode #122– Under Seige

WCW Monday Nitro opens in chaos. Ultimo Dragon is seen being loaded into an ambulance clearly the victim of another backstage attack. Wrestlers and staff are speculating and looking around. And the camera catches Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Macho Man Randy Savage, Curt Hennig and other members of the nWo grouped together away from the chaos just watching.

The Steiner Brothers rush over and accuse Nash of this and Big Sexy puts his hands up and says "Hey...not us. But, I like their style." The nWo walks away while the Steiner's and other wrestlers are separated from them.

Skipping the normal video entrance, we go directly into the arena where Tony, Mike and Larry are stunned. They tell us that moments before Nitro went on the air Ultimo Dragon was clearly attacked. Each announcer wonders what is going on. All of them, especially Larry, believes it is from the nWo. Larry promises this Saturday night at Snickers Souled Out to get revenge for Luger and for Ultimo. Tony throws us to our opening match.

<b>CHAVO GUERERRO JR VS EL DANDY</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A very competitive match which sees Dandy gain the upper hand and appear to be closing in on a victory when Eddie Guererro arrives on scene.

Eddie distracts the ref right after sliding the the Cruiserweight title. Chavo grabs it but doesn’t want to use it and El Dandy grabs it too. In a tug of war Chavo lets go and the belt blasts Dandy in the head. Chavo is unsure but Eddie yells at him to cover and Chavo does for the 3 count.

WINNER BY PINFALL: CHAVO GUERERRO JR

Chavo glares at his Uncle who walks away with a smirk after reminding Chavo that La Familia takes care of each other as the Nitro girls take us to the commercial break

When Nitro returns from commercial break Mean Gene is with WCW Executive Committee Chairman James J Dillon and both men are still shaken up from the backstage assault. Gene points out the nWo was nearby and JJ says we all know who is behind this. It's their modus operandi. But this Saturday WCW will begin to rectify that because Eric Bischoff is not around to run interference this time. This Saturday at Snickers Souled Out there is going to be law and order! WCW is instituting a policy for this pay per view. In every match this Saturday that involves a member of the New World Order, the rest of that group is banned from ringside. If any member of the nWo comes out even for a peek, not only will that nWo member be immediately disqualified by the referee, the person coming out will be indefinitely suspended. Oh, and Nash? In case you think you can have someone betray WCW - this edict applies to that person as well. For the first time ever, the nWo will rise or fall on their own this Saturday. Mean Gene celebrates the level playing field as we go to our next match.

<b>LORD STEVEN REGAL © W/DAVE TAYLOR VS HUGH MORRUS</b>

Regal’s disdain for his opponent, the audience, pretty much everyone except Taylor is obvious. Morrus uses his strength advantage early on but Regal is savvy and uses every trick in his book to take the advantage and hold it. He repeatedly rams Morrus’ shoulder into the ring post through the turnbuckles and focuses on the arm which eventually leads to the Regal Stretch which gets the win.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION AND STILL WCW TELEVISION CHAMPION: LORD STEVEN REGAL

The two Brits leave the ring, Regal says to the camera as he’s walking away that it is time for this title to matter again

A match graphic airs. When we come back just five days from their World Tag Team Title match at Snickers Souled Out, Rick Steiner will take on Scott Norton live on Nitro.

Nitro returns to an nWo paid announcement and its Macho Man Randy Savage sitting on a throne while a video of his successes in the nWo is projected behind him. Macho Man says that while Bret Hart was playing with kids, the Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth were here in the Kingdom of the Madness reinventing the game. Savage promises that Hart’s cup of coffee with the big time will go away this Saturday. And that the real hitman of professional wrestling will reign on his throne forever more. Oooooh yeaaahhhh,

<b>RICK STEINER VS SCOTT NORTON </b>

These are two tough SOBs and the match is stiff and not exactly a technical masterpiece but for what is tries to accomplish the crowd loves the hard hitting. Half way through Buff runs down to the ring followed closely by Scott Steiner.

The referee slides out of the ring and cuts off Scott, telling him to leave ringside. Behind the referee’s back Buff has climbed to the top and when Rick turns around Buff hits the Blockbuster. Norton makes the cover and when the referee turns around and sees he goes back in the ring and makes the three count.

WINNER BY PINFALL: SCOTT NORTON

As Scott checks on his brother, Vicious and Delicious bail and promise to be World Tag Team Champs this Saturday.

A Raven promo with Saturn in the streets of Cincinnati plays. They have a message for Diamond Dallas Page and challenge him to come play their game on their terms this Saturday at Souled Out. When DDP puts the US title on the line, it will be Raven’s Rules. Raven says Saturn will break Page’s heart and also promises that Benoit and that goof Mongo will know Raven’s pain. Quote the Raven, Nevermore.

We see World Champion Sting up in the rafters monitoring the arena after the chaos earlier tonight. He could also be doing some scouting for SuperBrawl next month in San Francisco because his challenger for the World Title, Scott Hall of the nWo is in action next on Monday Nitro. Don’t go anywhere.

Pyro and ballywho hits as Hour #2 comes on and Bobby the Brain Heenan takes the announce desk. But, instead of going to the back, Larry Zbyszko grabs a chair and sits right by the desk to await this next match.

<b>SCOTT HALL W/KEVIN NASH VS KENNY KAOS</b>

Kaos doesn’t have a chance in this one as Hall is really on his game and even if he has a misstep, Nash is there to help his buddy out. The match is a relatively short one which ends with an Outsider Edge.

WINNER BY PINFALL: SCOTT HALL

As soon as the match is over, Larry makes a beeline down to the ring and brawls with Hall. The two start fighting in the ring until Nash saves his buddy. They start working over the Living Legend when suddenly the crowd comes alive as The Giant comes down the ring.

Hall and Nash make a show of inviting the big man into the ring, but bail the second he does. Giant and Larry own the ring and challenge The Outsiders to come on and fight them one-on-one but the leaders of the nWo decide to back down and wait for their matches this Saturday at Souled Out.

Mean Gene is with Bret the Hitman Hart in the locker rooms and Hart says he saw Macho Man’s little tirade earlier, but it doesn’t matter. At this stage of his career, all Randy Savage has left is talk. But, talking can’t help him now. This Saturday in Cincinnati, The Excellence of Execution makes his WCW in ring debut and he embarasses the Macho Man with the whole world watching. Count on it.

When Nitro returns the Nitro Girls are in the ring and this time it’s Kimberly who gets the solo spotlight.

<b>CHRIS BENOIT AND STEVE MCMICHAEL VS LODI AND HAMMER</b>

Benoit and McMichael show some of that old Horseman chemistry early on but soon McMichael is trapped and the big man is double teamed but he makes the hot tag to Benoit who comes in and just destroys the two opponents. With Hammer knocked off the apron, Benoit puts Lodi in the crossface which gets a near instant submission.

WINNERS BY SUBMISSION: CHRIS BENOIT AND STEVE MCMICHAEL

The announcers run down the final card for WCW/nWo and Snickers Souled Out from the Sold Out Crown Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio this Saturday Live on Pay Per View and remind us that the law will be laid down on this night and there is to be NO nWo interferences :

These two put on a great match and Hennig looks like he’s on the verge of becoming the next US champ on several occasions but DDP digs deep and puts Hennig on the defense. DDP wears him out with several clotheslines and a sitdown powerbomb which Hennig barely kicks out of. When Hennig gets to his feet DDP hits the Diamond Cutter and goes for the pin. At the two count, out of the referee’s point of view Rude yanks DDP off of Hennig by pulling his leg.

This is too much for Ric Flair who bolts from the backstage area and slides into the ring raining down right hands to the still dazed Hennig. The referee calls for the belt and declares an obvious disqualification..

WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: CURT HENNIG

Rude gets in to pull Flair off and Page retaliates, by pulling Rude away and going for a Diamond Cutter which Rude barely avoids before exiting the ring. Hennig meanwhile has rolled out and headed back up the ramp with Flair hot on his heels.. As Flair catches up to Hennig, he’s suddenly blasted out of nowhere by Vincent.

Diamond Dallas Page runs up the aisle but the rest of the nWo have run out to the arena and a big brawl ensues. Sting is watching but when Curt Hennig slams Ric Flair’s head into the big WCW letters, that is too much and the champion rappels down from the heavens.

Giant and Bret Hart make their way from the back as well and, with Sting swinging away with his bat, WCW fights back. Tony, Bobby and Mike tell us we are out of time and remind us to not miss Souled Out this Saturday while WCW and the nWo are at war as Nitro goes off the air.

Main Event: Steel Cage Match

Curt Hennig vs Nature Boy Ric Flair - I could see Hennig remaining in the nWo due to his legitimate friendships with Nash, Hogan and Syxx, but logically Flair should get his revenge here.

Bret “Hitman” Hart vs Macho Man Randy Savage - I don't think Bret necessarily loses clean here, but I don't think he's hurt by a loss so long as there's some skulduggery, and there's surely money in a feud between the two rather than just one match.

The Giant vs Kevin Nash - If this match was happening a few months later I could see Nash losing, getting kicked out of the nWo and turning babyface. He was the second biggest babyface behind Goldberg for WCW in 1998. But this is too soon, and the comment from Hall just seems to be adding intrigue.

Scott Hall vs Larry Zbyszko - Hall should win this one, especially when he's next up for Sting.

Raven’s Rules Match for the WCW United States Championship

Saturn vs Diamond Dallas Page - It's far too soon to move Saturn away from Raven, but this should still give him a chance to showcase himself against a top star.

Chavo Guerrero, Jr. vs WCW Cruiserweight Champion Eddie Guerrero

WCW World Tag Team Championship

As the pyro goes off, Tony introduces Dusty and Mike and welcomes us to WCW/nWo presents: Snickers Souled Out. They take us to moments ago and show the tag brawl that ended Saturday night.

<b>THE STEINER BROTHERS © VS VICIOUS AND DELICIOUS</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A good brawl and hard hitting match. Half way through there is a miscommunication between the Steiners which leads to Rick hitting Scott when Bagwell dodges a double team. The nWo members who are sans Vincent due to the JJ Dillon ruling take control of the match but the Steiners regroup and hit the top rope bulldog on Bagwell for the win.

WINNERS BY PINFALL AND STILL WCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE STEINER BROTHERS

As the Steiners celebrate their win and get back on the same page two men jump the guard rail and slide into the ring.

They both throw Scott over the top rope. When Rick turns around, one picks him up and lifts him while falling backwards as the other hits a cutter move. Officials run down to the ring as the two men ditch to the outside and leave through the crowd where they came from.

Mean Gene backstage interview with Ric Flair who says that the biggest mistake he ever made in this business was thinking that Curt Hennig was a friend. It is a mistake that cost him the Horsemen, his pride and it is a mistake that will be rectified here tonight. Tonight, Curt will bleed. He will sweat. He will pay the price of a lifetime and he will scream for mercy. Tonight the Nature Boy teaches Curt Hennig what being a bad guy is really all about. Wooooo!

We see a video that takes us through the Eddie-Chavo match as the Cruiserweight Title Match is next.

As the match begins Eddie keeps pointing to the mat telling Chavo to lay down. His nephew refuses which only angers the champion. They go at it tooth and nail and Chavo takes a beating but he makes a comeback and starts to get the better of it. He whips Eddie into the corner and goes for a splash but Eddie moves and helps guide him into the ring post. Chavo falls back, out of it. Eddie climbs to the top, looks down at his nephew and for a moment pauses, then he smirks and shrugs and hits the frog splash anyways to retain his title.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL WCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION: EDDIE GUERERRO

WCW Boston Brawl graphic airs where we learn about the special pay per listen event in one week and are told Rowdy Roddy Piper will be on Nitro this Monday to tell us about the main event of that show.

RAVEN’S RULES

<b>CHRIS BENOIT AND STEVE MCMCHAEL VS RIGGS AND SICK BOY</b>

Mongo and Benoit are in full control early on but the match changes when the Nest sans Raven and Saturn hit the ring and they all go for Benoit. Mongo is about to help when Raven slides in and hits the Evenflow DDT. Riggs makes the cover and they get the win as Benoit is held down by multiple enemies unable to help.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: RIGGS AND SICK BOY

Larry Zbyszko is in the locker room with Mean Gene. Larry says that it has taken months to get to this point, but we’re finally here. In just a few moments Scott Hall will find out why they call Larry the Living Legend. Hall is going to Larryland and he’s not coming back.

<b>SCOTT HALL VS LARRY ZBYSZKO</b>

The dislike is evident and Zbyszko goes full steam ahead cornering Hall and laying into him. Hall absorbs it and then reverses, giving as good as he got. They take it to the outside using everything that isn’t nailed down and the referee gives them a good deal of latitude. Getting back in the ring, Hall takes over and hits an eye poke for good measure. Half blinded, Zbyszko flails away hitting nothing but gets a kick in the gut and then Hall hits the Outsider Edge for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: SCOTT HALL

We go back to Nitro and see Nash take over the nWo as well as JJ's decision about Zero Tolerance for nWo behavior here tonight. The announcers hype up that this match was supposed to happen last month at Starrcade, but here we are. Can Big Sexy Kevin Nash defeat the Giant? We’re about to find out.

<b>KEVIN NASH VS THE GIANT</b>

Not exactly a masterpiece but two big guys hitting hard can be enjoyable too. Giant hits a big dropkick which sends Nash out of the ring. Big Sexy recovers and they continue fighting. Unseen by the referee Nash hits a low mule kick and doubles over the Giant. Nash moves in and goes for the Jackknife which looks horrible botched as the Giant basically lands on his head. Nash makes a quick cover and gets the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: KEVIN NASH

As Nash leaves the ring officials tend to Giant and help him out of the ring. The Giant is holding his neck and the announcers tell us to tune in on Monday and hopefully we will have an update on The Giant’s condition.

A commercial airs for next month's SuperBrawl from the historic Cow Palace which will be headlined by Scott Hall challenging Sting for the World Heavyweight Title.

RAVEN’S RULES

<b>DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE © VS SATURN</b>

Saturn is a machine early on and the US Champ is on his heels. The Nest comes wandering down the aisle but Saturn yells at them and tells them no. He goes back to work on DDP who fights back and it’s anyone’s match. DDP takes a risk going to the top and gets crotched. Saturn hits a huge superplex and makes the cover 1...2..

Kickout!

Saturn looks annoyed and picks DDP up by his hair, loading him on his shoulders for the Death Valley Driver but when he launches DDP, the champ lands on his feet and hits a Diamond Cutter out of nowhere. DDP makes a loose cover and gets the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL WCW UNITED STATES CHAMPION: DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE

In the back Curt Hennig and Rick Rude are with Gene. Hennig promises that tonight is an ending but it’s the end of that fossil Ric Flair. As Gene sends it back to Schiavone and company Hennig and Rude share a handshake.

A hype video airs that leads us to Macho Man Randy Savage vs Bret Hart

<b>RANDY SAVAGE VS BRET HART</b>

This match delivers everything you would assume it would. A fantastic big time fight which sees both men control large swathes of time getting their offense in. When Savage goes to the top for the big elbow Hart plays possum and rolls out of the way. Savage crashes and burns and Hart quickly locks in the Sharpshooter. Savage fights with everything he has to reach the ropes but he taps just inches short of them.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: BRET HART

After the loss, Elizabeth comes down the aisle but stops and looks at Savage with disgust and then turns around and walks away from the Macho Man while he shouts where are you going.

A final highlight video of the entire Ric Flair - Curt Hennig saga airs. It shows us Curt’s arrival in WCW, Flair recruiting him, Arn offering his spot in the Horsemen, Hennig’s betrayal at Fall Brawl and everything that has happened since. We then see the Steel Cage lower as our main event is next.

STEEL CAGE MATCH

<b>RIC FLAIR VS CURT HENNIG</b>

The cage comes into play early and often as both men use it to their advantage and both end up bleeding. Flair gets the upper hand and lays into Hennig who gives it right back. The match continues as such until Hennig is in firm control and he’s taunting Flair. Arn Anderson comes down to ringside encouraging his friend and Hennig taunts him too. Hennig allows himself to be distracted for just a moment with Anderson and Flair rams him face first into the cage. Hennig is down and dazed and thats when Anderson hands two pairs of handcuffs through the fencing. Flair handcuffs Hennig to the bottom rope by each wrist and locks in the figure four. Hennig has nowhere to go and can’t get out of it. Finally he submits when he can’t take anymore.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: RIC FLAIR

Ric Flair def Curt Hennig in the Steel Cage when Arn Anderson slips in cuffs, Hennig is cuffed to the ropes and is forced to submit after being put in the figure four

Flair, exhausted and worn, exits the cage and immediately gets a hug from his best friend. Arn raises Ric’s arm in the air as the announcers are overjoyed at the result. Schiavone tells us to tune into Nitro Monday night for all the aftermath!

When I read Savage submitted I expected there to be a handshake between The Hitman and Macho Man. Nitro opens to still photos from Saturday Night’s WCW/nWo Souled Out presented by Snickers. Highlighted are Nash’s win, Hart’s win, Hall’s win and the win of the Nature Boy Ric Flair in the Steel Cage main event.

Pyro and ballywho as the raucous crowd at Indiana University comes to life. While scanning the crowd, Tony, Mike & Larry welcome us to Monday Nitro and point out that over Seventeen Thousand have jam packed the sold out Assembly Hall here on the Campus of Indiana University. They hype tonight where we will be addressed by Kevin Nash and they wonder what could the reckoning be for the nWo after the New World Order’s losses Saturday night in Cincinnati.

Mean Gene is in the ring and introduces the Commissioner of World Championship Wrestling, Hot Rod Rowdy Roddy Piper!! Hot Rod comes out to a chorus of cheers and soaks up the reaction from the students here tonight. He points out that, as has been stated before, Roddy Piper is the king of the frat house! But its time to get down to business. Souled Out has come and gone and Super Brawl is next month, but this Saturday there is an event called Boston Brawl. It will be from the Fleet Center in Boston. The show is sold out, but WCW is being innovative with this whole world wide web thing and you can listen to this show, LIVE, on WCW.com. Now this is a whole new thing that WCW is trying and we need us a big main event so the Hotrod thought and thought and looked at contracts and came up with a brilliant solution. When a World Champion loses their title they become eligible for a re-match but it is up to the promotion when that match happens, not the former champion. So, Hulk Hogan WCW is exercising it’s right to your contracted rematch and we are hereby ordering you to be in Boston this Satur…..

nWo’s music hits as Scott Hall comes down the aisle angrily. He waves to Larry as he passes, but that is the only bit of showboating that is done. Hall gets in the ring and goes directly to Piper’s face and says Piper can’t dick Hall around. By winning World War 3 in November Scott Hall won the world title shot and it is at SuperBrawl next month in the main event. Piper can’t take that away from him.

Piper says that whether we like it or not, Scott Hall does have a world title match at SuperBrawl. WCW cannot take that away, that’s a fact. But nowhere in the stipulations of that match that Hall won was there anything that said it’s the FIRST title shot of the champion after Starrcade. So, Hall will get his title shot. It will just be against the winner of the match in Boston on Saturday. Piper says that’s the way it will be and Hogan? We don’t care about your little break up with the nWo, we don’t care if you’re out of shape, we don’t care if you’ve lost what little hair you have left. This is your one shot. Be there Saturday to face Sting for the World Title or you never get another chance at it. That’s just the way it’s gonna be.

Piper walks off with Hall angry. Mean Gene says what a shocker and what a huge match this will be. Hollywood Hogan vs Sting for the rematch for the World Title, will be in Boston this Saturday on Boston Brawl. Gene tells us to go order the event on WCW.com right now and says Nitro will be back with Bret Hart making his Nitro In Ring Debut when we come back. Don’t you dare go anywhere. We’re LIVE on TNT.

<b>BRET HART VS FIT FINLAY</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

The match is snug but scientific. Finlay gives as good as he gets and the two pull out a very good match. When Finlay misses a running knee in the corner Hart takes advantage, working over the left knee and when it’s sufficiently weakened he applies the Sharpshooter for the win.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: BRET HART

Castrol GTX Replay of the week is Bret Hart rearing back on the Sharpshooter forcing Finlay to tap out.

Mean Gene does a quick interview with Bret in the aisle and he talks about his win Saturday Night and reiterates his challenge to Sting for Starrcade in December. Hart says he has not heard back from the champion but hopes he will soon. Hart says that now that he has vanquished Savage, he wants to turn his attention to proving a legacy in WCW in that ring. And one of the gifts that WCW has is its relationship with Japan and with young talent. And the Hitman is about excellence but also about opportunity. So, he is giving opportunity to one young Japanese talent, one young potentially great wrestler, Yuji Nagata - this Saturday at Boston Brawl - this is your opportunity to prove what you can do against the Best There Is, the Best There Was, and the Best There Ever Will Be. Good luck.

The Nitro Girls are performing as we get back from commercial. After a few moments they exit the ring after blowing kisses to the crowd.

Tony, Mike & Larry welcome us back to Nitro and we go to the announce booth for the first time tonight. They show us still photos from Souled Out specifically Kevin Nash dropping The Giant on his neck during the Jackknife Powerbomb. We are told that The Giant was taken to a Cincinnati Hospital and was discharged this morning. There will be further tests done on his neck throughout this upcoming week, but for now there is no timetable for the return of The Giant to WCW.

<b>REY MYSTERIO JR VS PSYCHOSIS VS BLITZKRIEG</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A typical high flying cruiserweight match with a lot of crazy flips, flops, and top rope action. Psychosis seems to be closing in on the victory when Blitzkrieg leaps off the top rope and hits a hurricanrana, but when he gets up and turns around Mysterio dropkicks him in the chest, sending him hurtling into the corner. He hits hard and hits the mat. Mysterio goes to the outside and uses a springboard splash to get the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: REY MYSTERIO JR

As Rey celebrates, Alex Wright runs down the aisle to dance in front of a pretty college girl in the front row. However, she looks repulsed. The announcers laugh at Wright for this rejection and Rey walks away laughing at Wright as well which doesn’t sit well with Das Wunderkind.

Raven is sitting in the crowd with his Nest. Raven rips into Saturn for his failure Saturday Night against DDP and warns Saturn to not fail Raven again. Raven orders Saturn into the ring. We are told that Chris Benoit will face Saturn when Nitro returns LIVE on TNT.

<b>CHRIS BENOIT VS SATURN</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A fantastic match which could go either way and it almost does several times. Saturn falls victim to a series of german suplexes before Benoit goes to the top and soars, hitting a diving headbutt. He locks in the Crippler Crossface when suddenly the Nest hits the ring.

The referee calls for the bell as all three men attack Benoit like a pack of jackyls.

WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: CHRIS BENOIT

The Nest beats down Benoit until the United States Champion, Diamond Dallas Page runs out to make the save. Raven pulls his nest back over the guardrail as both Benoit and DDP point at Raven and want him to come into the ring.

The announcers take us back to Souled Out where Nature Boy Ric Flair beat Curt Hennig inside the Steel Cage. We are told that Hour #2 will kick off with Mean Gene and the Nature Boy when Monday Nitro returns on TNT.

A commercial for SuperBrawl airs. Instead of focusing on Sting vs Scott Hall (as it did on Saturday), the commercial now focuses on who will Scott Hall challenge for the World Title? Sting or Hollywood Hogan? Don’t miss WCW/nWo SuperBrawl from the sold out and historic Cow Palace in San Francisco, Sunday Night Week 4, February LIVE and only on pay per view.

Mean Gene welcomes us back to the Nitro entrance set and welcomes to Indiana, the 13 time WCW Heavyweight Champion of the World, The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Flair comes out to a huge pop and plays to the fans as he is all smiles following his win on Saturday night. Flair gloats and says he feels great and also feels vindicated because at Forty-Nine years old, this so called “fossil” main evented the first ppv of the year and kicked ass. But before Flair can finish, the Nature Boy is interrupted by…

Jericho comes out and shakes Ric Flair’s hand and says that watching Flair Saturday Night was an inspiration. But, the Lionheart was also victorious on Saturday Night. And Jericho has to know if Jericho is the wrestler that he thinks he can be. So Jericho respectfully challenges the Nature Boy to a match here tonight on Nitro. Flair starts to act with bravado but then gets serious. He says that Chris Jericho is a great young wrestler, he has a great upside, the Nature Boy respects him for making this challenge and the Nature Boy accepts. Flair warns him that tonight, Jericho will go to school and Chris says that it would be his honor. The match is made as we go to commercial.

The Nitro Girls are dancing on the stage as the show returns to commercial.

<b>DEAN MALENKO VS JUVENTUD GUERERRA</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

High flying versus ground and punish and both men get their share of offense in. During the match Tenay mentions how Malenko will face Eddie Guerrerro in Boston for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. Malenko as always is a technical master and he grinds Juventud down until he falls victim to the Texas Cloverleaf.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: DEAN MALENKO

Following the match Eddie runs out and attacks Malenko and Juvie just watches before leaving. Eddie holds the Cruiserweight Title above Malenko’s head promising to hold it after this Saturday

We get a graphic that tells us that next week from the Alamodome in San Antonio, the Total Package Lex Luger will make his WCW return after his brutal attack several weeks ago. Don’t miss next week on Nitro.

The two men who attacked the Steiners are in the ring as the show comes back from commercial. Tony refers to them as Mark LoMonaco and Devon Hughes. LoMonaco is the first to speak and as the crowd chants ‘ECW’ he tells them to shut the hell up. He says they left that third rate promotion behind for the promised land. He goes on to say that the man in the ring with him is his brother. No fake names needed, no fake family, no stupid gimmicks. They are brothers and they are also the baddest tag team in professional wrestling today and if you do not believe him, try them.

They’re here in WCW for one thing and one thing only. The WCW Tag Team Championship and right now the bad news for the Steiners is that they have what they want. Souled Out was a friendly how-do-you-do. The next time won’t be so friendly. Next time one of you is going through a table, that is a promise.

Hughes takes the microphone and says he will testify! to everything which was just said. If you want to know who they are….they are...G-T-T. And the tag team scene around here just changed.

<b>HARLEM HEAT VS MORTIS AND WRATH W/JAMES VANDENBURG</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

As the match kicks off Tony Schiavone tells us how Harlem Heat win or lose tonight will face the Faces of Fear next week for the right to challenge the Steiners at SuperBrawl for the WCW Tag Team Championship. Wrath’s strength helps him hold his own but Stevie isn’t a slouch and they tee off on one another until Booker gets the tag and cleans house. Mortis gets the tag and they go toe to toe for a few moments until Booker hits the scissor kick for the win.

WINNERS BY PINFALL: HARLEM HEAT

The announcers take us to Nash’s warning two weeks ago that if anyone loses at Souled Out, they’re out of the nWo. Well the nWo only won two matches at Souled Out. So what is the fate of the losers? We have been told that Kevin Nash will address “his” nWo, that’s still to come on Nitro.

We go back to earlier in the evening where Chris Jericho challenged Nature Boy Ric Flair. That match is our main event and it’s next on Nitro.

WCW Boston Brawl advertisement airs for this Saturday

WCW Saturday Night promo airs to highlight Steven Regal defending the WCW Television Championship against Steve Mongo McMichael.

<b>RIC FLAIR VS CHRIS JERICHO</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A clash of ages rather than styles highlights this one. Jericho is very up for the challenge and gives Flair all he can handle but Flair always has a veteran trick up his sleeve to stop Jericho’s momentum. Jericho goes for the Lionsault but Flair puts up his knees and quickly gets to his feet to apply the figure four. Jericho frantically tries to get to the ropes but Flair applies more pressure and Jericho taps.

WINNER BY PINFALL: RIC FLAIR

After the match Jericho looks extremely disappointed but shakes Flair’s hand. And the Nature Boy celebrates but shows respect to the younger man as well.

The announcers do one more plug for Sting and Hogan this Saturday at Boston Brawl. We are told that when we come back, Kevin Nash will address the nWo live on Nitro.

The members of the nWo come down to the ring. Hall and Nash are in good moods, everyone else looks like they’re going to the gallows. When they settle in the ring Hall and Nash stand by themselves, the rest of the group is in the middle of the ring except Randy Savage who is alone in a corner.

Nash says that tonight brings him no joy but everyone knew the rules and everyone knew the risks. So, first things first….Curt. Not only did he lose to Ric Flair but he gave up and embarrassed the nWo. Hennig mouths that ‘this is bullshit’ and leaves the ring. Rick Rude looks furious but when Hall points in Hennig’s direction Rude leaves too.

Nash then looks to Bagwell and Norton. He says they could have brought gold back to the nWo but they failed miserably and you know what that means. At this point Vincent begins yelling at Bagwell and Norton telling them to get out of the ring. When they do he turns around to a confused looking Nash who asks what he’s doing. Vincent pleads that he wasn’t at ringside; he shouldn’t be held accountable for their loss. But while he begs someone else slips into the ring.

Syxxx is hyped and attacks Vincent from behind before tossing him over the top rope and hugging Hall and Nash. After the quick welcome back celebration Nash turns to Savage who already knows what’s coming and begins to leave the ring but Hall runs over and stops him. Nash agrees, telling Savage that he’s safe. How could the nWo lose the Macho Man? At this news Elizabeth who herself looks surprised runs over and hugs Savage.

Nash turns back to the hard camera and tells the world to take a good look. They’re leaner, they’re meaner, and they’re taking back what belongs to them!

Schiavone says he doesn’t like what he’s seeing but turn in next week and find out what happens next!

<p>Glad Savage wasn't kicked out. He could still go in the ring at this point until getting injured then coming back far too roided up; can still be of value. Bagwell has potential but doesn't need to be in the nWo and they don't need him.</p><p> </p><p>

Interesting that you ditched the Dudley name. I'm sure Bully Ray has said Heyman promised them the trademarks and he didn't know until leaving WWE that they'd been sold to Vince in 2001. Not sure they'd even have been trademarked in '98.</p>

Nash mocks Hogan’s loss on Saturday to Sting (say’s betraying the family costs ya) and promises a different result in twenty-seven days at SuperBrawl. Kev introduces Scott Hall who says now it's his turn and says later tonight Hall will call out Sting to meet him in this ring like a man. Hall gives Macho Man the mic who says that nine days ago Bret Hart beat him, but he excuses it as Macho saying he had a fever so Hart wasn’t the better man. Macho challenges Bret to a rematch at SuperBrawl. The Wolfpac pose as a united front.

The Nitro girls dance at the announce booth. They remind us that tonight Lex Luger returns to action but when we return, Diamond Dallas Page defends the US title against Kidman on Nitro.

Kidman is fighting above his weight class, literally and Page is in top form. After a mostly one sided match Kidman attempts a springboard but Page catches him with the Diamond Cutter for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL AND STILL WCW UNITED STATES CHAMPION: DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE

As the bell rings Raven directs the Nest to attack Page, but Chris Benoit runs out with a chair and he and Page again push back Raven and his goons.

Mean Gene comes into the ring and Dallas thanks Chris - Benoit says he is returning the favor. And Benoit says they both have a problem with Raven, but man-to-man, the Crippler wants to put that aside at SuperBrawl. Benoit says that he wants to look Page in the eye and challenge Page for that belt in San Francisco. Page sticks out his hand and says it will be his honor. Mean Gene points out that this huge match is made.. Chris Benoit will challenge Diamond Dallas Page for the United States Title at SuperBrawl.

LaMonaco and Hughes dominate the two younger and smaller men, finally hitting their fallback cutter finisher which Tenay refers to as the Death Drop.

<b>JUVENTUD GUERERRA VS REY MYSTERIO JR</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A standard high energy cruiser match which sees both men use the top rope several times. Mysterio builds momentum and is setting up Guererra for a springboard when Alex Wright comes down to ringside.

Distracted, Mysterio doesn’t see Juventud get back to his feet and approach him. Guererra rams Mysterio into the ringpost, then suplexes him back into the ring, rolling through and hitting a Falcon Arrow for the win.

WINNER BY PINFALL: JUVENTUD GUERERRA

After the math Das Wunderkind dances up the aisle pointing and laughing at Mysterio who seethes in the ring.

<b>LEX LUGER VS FIT FINLAY</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

During the match, the announcers acknowledge the speculation on the World Wide Web that tonight is indeed the final match of Fit Finlay in World Championship Wrestling. They say he wants to go out of WCW as a winner. But he doesn’t. After a convincing effort, Luger easily puts him in the Torture Rack and Finlay gives up.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: LEX LUGER

Following the win, Mean Gene comes into the ring. He asks Lex how he is feeling. Lex says he is happy to be back and he is feeling 100% recovered. As to who the identity is of the man that attacked him….we all know who that was. So, Kevin Nash - the Total Package is asking you to be a man, Instead of a sneak attack, how about you meet in the ring at SuperBrawl? Lex promises to put “Big Sexy” in the world’s largest Toture Rack if Nash has even an ounce of dignity and accepts.

The Nature Boy says he feels like he is on a roll ever since his vindication against Curt Hennig nine days ago at Souled Out and continuing last week on Nitro. But everyone wants to know what is next for The Nature Boy. Will Flair go after the World Title? Will he go after the US title? Form a tag team? Flair is here to annou….

Arn Anderson walks out behind Ric.

Ric asks his best friend what he is doing here. Arn tries to whisper in Ric’s ear but Flair shakes it off and asks again what’s up after putting over Double A to the San Antonio crowd. Arn simply says “will you please come with me, Ric? I need to run something by you.” Arn apologizes to Gene and now Ric allows Arn to whisper to him something. Flair looks surprised but nods and tells Gene he’s gotta go talk to his best friend. The two walk off with Gene chasing after them.

<b>CHRIS JERICHO VS CHAVO GUERERRO JR</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

A great fast paced match which allows both men to show what they can do in the ring. Chavo is building momentum and his uncle Eddie comes down to the ring to cheer him on.

However, Chavo makes a mistake when he misses a back springboard elbow. He hits the mat flat on his back and Jericho quickly puts him in the Walls of Jericho for the victory.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: CHRIS JERICHO

Following the win, Jericho leaves the ring while Eddie checks on his nephew. Eddie helps Chavo up only to deck Chavo and kick at his nephew screaming “you lost again!”. Jericho sees this and rushes back into the ring chasing the Cruiserweight Champion away. Jericho checks on Chavo while Eddie walks off disgusted.

The announcers take us back to earlier tonight where Macho Man Randy Savage challenged Bret Hart for SuperBrawl. We are told that Bret is in Canada tonight doing promotional work for WCW, but we have learned that next week when Nitro stays in the great state of Texas and comes to you from El Paso - the Hitman will be on hand to respond to the challenge by the Macho Man.

<b>RANDY SAVAGE W/ELIZABETH VS BOOKER T</b><span style="font-weight:normal;">

Booker is up for the challenge and gives Savage everything he can handle on several occasions causing Savage to regroup outside. Booker gives chase and Savage puts Elizabeth between them. While she argues with Booker Savage breaks away and gets behind Booker ramming him into the ringpost. From there it’s all Macho Man and he ends it with the big elbow off the top.

The announcers say we are going into overtime. They tell us to not go anywhere because we’re about to take our final commercial break. But when WCW Monday Nitro returns, Scott Hall will call out World Champion Sting. Don’t miss this. We’re live on TNT.

Scott Hall comes out alone and says that he is happy that Sting defeated “Benedict Hulk” two nights ago in Beantown because the Outsider wants to take that belt from the “scary dude”. Hall mocks being afraid of Sting. Hall says that he will save the fight for SuperBrawl but is calling out Sting for an interview here in the ring.

After a few moments of Hall calling for him and looking around we see someone walk from the back. Immediately it is clear that this is an Imposter Sting complete with a kids toy belt version of the WCW World Title.

Hall acts like he is scared of “Sting” but conducts the “interview” where Hall asks if Sting is scared of Scott Hall. This Sting nods. Hall has the fake Sting cower in the corner after Hall threatens to deck him. This goes on and on until the lights go off….

When they come back on, Hall and “Sting” are in the ring and they are laughing and yelling “gotcha”. The lights go out once more and when they return Hall’s face is surprised as this one wasn’t supposed to happen. And the crowd comes alive as the real Sting is standing behind both men.

He reaches forward and pulls both Hall and the Imposter back and does a Double Scorpion Death Drop onto both men.

The Wolfpac comes running out, but Sting has already hooked himself up to a harness. As Savage & Konnan & Syxxx almost get to the champ, Sting ascends to the heavens. Nash and Elizabeth check on the unconscious Scott Hall as Monday Nitro goes off the air.

Oh if only WCW had ditched the NWO or just redid it like you're doing in this, we could very well be talking about who WCW was hiring and complaining about their booking right now. Sigh...what could have been.
