Lucha Underground: Alternate Reality, Honestly [C-VERSE]

Recommended Posts

Ideally, no. I plan on posting the next episode of Total Wrestling before the first episode of Lucha Underground goes up. I've booked all the way through Battleground already in that save, and have written a large chunk of Total Wrestling already. I've just been having fun today doing all the roster introductions and the like, this idea has been brewing for a little over a week and I got eager to share it with everyone.

Glad to have you on board over here as well as over at Wonderland! Thanks for the kind words, see you in the Temple soon!

If this is half as good as Wonderland we are in for a treat my dude. Can't wait for more

Sayeed Ali enters Honest Frank's office, still looking back out on the Temple with a hint of amazement on his face.

"Yo, homie," he says as he closes the door. "You finna tell me dat place out there is a Temple? Dat you opened with a gold key?"

"Yes sir," Frank nods, feet up on his desk next to the pile of Aztec medallions.

"And you done found alla dat gold just sittin' in the desk drawer?" Ali questions, and Frank nods again. "Man, homie, if I woulda known alla dat, I'da looted this place up myself a long time ago! Boyle Heights Temple, sh!t... least me and da crew was able to help get you out here from Queens, know whut I'm sayin'?"

"Ah, yes, and I need to thank you for that, don't I?" Frank smiles as he sits up in his chair.

"Yo ducketts was good, we straight homie," Ali waves him off, but Frank is insistent.

"No, no, I didn't say I needed to pay you, we both know this meeting'd be a whole lot different if you didn't have your cash-in-hand already," Frank says, drawing a slight chuckle from Ali as he nods in agreement.

"Straight up, straight up," the gangster says as he nods.

"Alright, so let me thank you... by offering you a chance at some of the prizes the Temple has to offer," Frank says. "What say I offer you a chance at the Lucha Underground Temple Championship, and I offer your crew a chance at the Lucha Underground Trios Championship?"

Ali nods and smiles, slowly offering his hand out for dap; Frank flubs it, and goes to shake his hand instead. After a brief moment of awkwardness, they settle on clapping hands together and nodding.

"Me and the homies always lookin' for loot, Frank," Ali tells him. "You know, I like you man... you a' honest guy, Frank."

"Honesty?" Frank smiles. "That's what I do, and it's hard to find in a rough world like this. So I'll see you opening night?"

"You know it," Ali nods, snapping his fingers and turning to leave the office. "Me and the homies gonna GET! THIS! LOOT!" he shouts into the empty temple before closing the office door and leaving.

Frank sits there for a moment watching the office door, then grabs one of the Aztec medallions, death, and leans back in his chair again, twirling the medallion around in his fingers. After a beat, the Aztec Guardian emerges from the shadows in the office.

0ctaodS.jpg

"Do you really think he can win, Jefe?" the Guardian asks.

"What?! Woah! Jeez!!" Frank is startled by his appearance. "You been there the whole time?" The Guardian nods. "Do I think he can win what? The gold?" Frank shrugs. "All's I know is he helped get me here through some contacts in Queens, I owe him one."

"But the Temple Championship can only be claimed when it is vacant through Aztec Warfare," the Guardian explains.

A faint sound of a ghost crowd can be heard chanting Animo! Animo!

"Aztec Warfare??" Frank questions. "What's that?"

Animo! Animo!

"A battle between 20 luchadores, an ancient tradition... the only way to claim the Temple Championship when it has been vacant. The Believers will know."

Animo! Animo!

"Yeah, you just said the same thing a different way," Frank groans. "You're gonna have to tell me about this... Aztec Warfare..."

Animo! Animo!

Animo! Animo!

Season 1, Episode 1

DWkqE0D.png?1

Announce Team: Lee Bambino and CJ Weston

Location: Boyle Heights Temple

Show Rating: 41

SEASON 1, EPISODE 1

The Temple in Boyle Heights is packed as we open the first episode of Lucha Underground! The Believers are going crazy, several people in the crowd are wearing luchador masks or holding up signs with phrases like Animo! and Viva Lucha Underground written on them. It isn't long before we settle on the ring, where the attractive and charismatic Nicole Kiss is waiting with a microphone.

rtKbCkg.jpg

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, the owner of the Temple, El Jefe... Honest Frank!" Nicole announces, a mixture of cheers and boos rising up from the Believers as Honest Frank makes his way out of his office and to the ring.

RHZ4Hyi.jpg

"Welcome everyone... to Lucha Underground! That's right, I am El Jefe himself, and welcome to my Temple! We got a great show for you tonight, because we's gonna crown the first ever Temple Champion under my watch! Believers... do you know what that means?"

The crowd cheers, and an even bigger rumble starts to build as Frank smiles.

"AZTEC WARFARE!!" Frank screams, and the crowd pops huge. It doesn't take long before some unfamiliar and fairly generic-sounding opera music begins to play, and Pablo Rodriguez comes out of the entrance to make his way to the ring.

VlKho3J.jpg

"Frank, I came to the Temple to try and warn you, but you wouldn't listen to me... and now, The Mask of Death himself, Máscara Muerte, has made his way to the Temple! You don’t know what you have done!”

“I know perfectly well what I’ve done,” Frank answers in Queens accent. “I’ve opened my Temple to the Believers!”

The crowd cheers, but the Priest of Pain continues to protest.

“You’ve opened it to evil!” he insists.

“I’ve opened it to violence! To promotion! To money!” Frank declares. “All a’ those things mean more to me than whatever you got to say, padre.”

Just then, the lights in the Temple begin to flicker and grim cackling can be heard as smoke pours out from the door where luchadors make their entrance.

“I warned you!” Pablo bellows. “I warned you, Jefe!” Rodriguez bails from the ring as the cackling gets louder, and two masked minions come practically crawling out of the door.

l1o3zxH.jpgalKrZPY.jpg

The Waking Nightmares, Babau and Moroi start to make their way towards the ring while Honest Frank follows Pablo Rodriguez’s lead and hightails it out of the ring.

“Don’t go anywhere Believers, we’ll be right back!” Lee Bambino shouts as we go to our first commercial break.

SEGMENT RATING: 45

"The following lucha is a tag team match, and it is scheduled for one fall!" Nicole Kiss announces as we come back from commercial, The Waking Nightmares in one corner while another masked team are in the other, wearing sunglasses.

uZJg97k.jpgMSDVVpn.jpg

"In this corner, from Hollywood, California, The L.. .A... STARS!"

The team showboat for the Believers, taking off their sunglasses and preparing for the match as Kiss continues her introduction.

"And their opponents, from The Darkest Reaches of Your Mind... Babau... Moroi... THE WAKING... NIGHTMARES!"

THE WAKING NIGHTMARES VERSUS THE LA STARS

Despite the masks, The LA Stars spend the match acting like teen idol pretty boys, and the crowd eats up the semi-comedic act. The Waking Nightmares are far more serious, and far more successful in their offense for most of the match.

“The Waking Nightmares, of course, are members of The Death Tribe,” Lee Bambino reminds us on commentary.

“The Death Tribe led by, as Pablo Rodriguez warned us earlier, The Mask of Death himself, Máscara Muerte,” CJ Weston adds. “And, not only does he have The Waking Nightmares at his disposal but he also has, is this true, a zombie?”

“That would be Zombi, CJ,” Bambino corrects. “Aztec lore says that in order to turn a man into a zombie, he must have his heart ripped out by the hand of a god.”

“Is Máscara Muerte a god?!” Weston asks in bewilderment.

“The human embodiment of the God of Death, I am told,” Bambino informs us.

In the ring, The Waking Nightmares are in control and set up one of the LA Stars for their Sleep Paralysis double-team finisher and the win in the first-ever Lucha Underground match.

WINNERS: THE WAKING NIGHTMARES

MATCH RATING: 38

“The winners of the match,” Nicole Kiss announces as The Waking Nightmares stack the bodies of The LA Stars in the center of the ring. “The Waking Nightmares!”

“What a way to start Lucha Underground,” Bambino says as the camera settles on the small announce desk at ringside. “But now, it’s almost time… can you feel it, CJ?”

“I can feel it, Lee,” Weston replies. “The Believers are ready, and it is almost time for Aztec Warfare!”

“But, first, we’re going to hear from just a few of the luchadores set for competition tonight,” Bambino continues. “Twenty luchadores will enter, only one will walk away with the Lucha Underground Temple Championship!”

5H46xGD.jpg

Mr. Lucha III is backstage to cut a promo, talking about the legacy of his mask.

“I may not descend from an Aztec tribe, but my mask comes from a great lineage,” he explains. “Mr. Lucha I, my uncle, mi tío, is one of the most legendary luchadores in all of Mexico and now I wear the mask in Lucha Underground! Aztec Warfare, twenty luchadores enter, only one survives… and it will be Mr. Lucha tres!”

SEGMENT RATING: 40

We come back from the commercial break centered on the announce desk.

“Believers, we are just moments away from Aztec Warfare!” Bambino exclaims.

“That’s right, Lee, but first, let’s meet one more luchador coming from south of the border to the underground,” Weston says.

BdXj8UA.jpg

“My name is Extraordinario Jr.,” the masked luchador begins as a video shows off some of his impressive moveset. “I come to Lucha Underground as the sensation of Mexico. No one can put on a show like Extraordinario Jr.” A clip of his extraordinary Siempre Peleando finisher is shown. “I will outlast 19 other luchadores. I will put on the show. I will be sensational, and I will show Jayson Van Pelt who is the real sensation in Lucha Underground!”

SEGMENT RATING: 37

“Believer, it is ti--” Bambino begins, but the lights in the arena start to flicker in much the same way they did when The Waking Nightmares made their entrance earlier in the evening. Low cackling and smoke come from the entrance again, and out comes Máscara Muerte.

OhPdCFd.jpg

“Tick tock… tick tock… it is time!” Muerte growls. “Aztec Warfare begins, and it is time to claim MY prize. No one can hide from death for I am inevitable! Let the war begin, now bring me my first victim!”

SEGMENT RATING: 50

“The following lucha,” Nicole Kiss begins after entering the ring and showing fear toward Máscara Muerte, “is AZTEC WARFARE! Twenty luchadores will enter, two men beginning in the ring, the rest joining them at random in timed intervals. Let’s… LUCHA!!”

AZTEC WARFARE

“Máscara Muerte is already in the ring, I guess entering Aztec Warfare at number one,” Bambino says.

“I guess so, but my question is, who would want to enter at number one? It’s just bad strategy, in my opinion,” Weston comments.

“Who needs strategy when you’re death?” Bambino questions, and Weston concedes his argument.

Generic rock music begins to play, and the second luchador to enter Aztec Warfare comes into the Temple…

WzX1wyG.jpg

“Now entering the Temple, from Rock City USA,” Kiss announces. “Charlie California!!”

California plays air guitar on his way down the stairs, headbanging and getting the crowd into it.

“The leader of The Rock City Express is on his way to the ring,” Bambino observes.

“Yeah, but I think he needs to get serious real quick before he gets in there with Muerte,” Weston says.

The bell rings as California gets into the ring, and Muerte is immediately on the attack! Clubbing blows to the back and a vicious front kick sends Charlie into the corner.

“Muerte lining him up…” Weston leads as Muerte waits in the center of the ring, waving California forward. Eventually, the man from Rock City USA does come forward and Muerte levels him with a vicious Buzzsaw Kick that makes the crowd and the announcers all gasp.

“Oh my God!” Weston exclaims. “How is his head still attached?”

Muerte picks California up and dump him over the top rope for the first elimination.

CHARLIE CALIFORNIA HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“I think it’s important at this post to clarify for all the Believers,” Bambino explains. “In Aztec Warfare, as you can see we have our officials Dwight Kumas and Quincy Jargon at ringside. In a normal battle royal, the only way to be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope and have both feet touch the floor, but not in Aztec Warfare!”

“That’s right, Lee, a luchador can also find themselves eliminated should they be pinned or submitted,” Weston adds.

“But who’s next?” Bambino questions. They don’t have long to wait before some generic, patriotic American rock music begins to play.

6pAS8UU.jpg

“A descendant of the Eagle tribe, I’m told,” Bambino says. “American Flash is here in Lucha Underground along with two of his brothers in arms to win the Lucha Underground Trios Championship but it is every luchador for themselves in Aztec Warfare, every luchador out for the gold!”

Flash hurries down the steps and slips into the ring, immediately sprinting towards the opposite ropes and gaining a head of steam before cannonballing into Muerte’s midsection! Muerte bounds backwards into the ropes, but doesn’t go down!

“Muerte is not, by any means, a big man, but he will not go down!” Bambino exclaims as Flash tries a handspring elbow to no avail. Flash bounds off the ropes again and rushes towards Muerte, leaping into the air and getting smacked right in the head with another vicious Buzzsaw Kick! The sound resonates throughout the Temple, and the believers gasp once again at the sickening sound.

“That little man is dead!” Weston declares. Muerte picks him up, but while he is in the process of throwing him over the top rope the next entry is already beginning…

AMERICAN FLASH HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

VOQmwSo.jpg

“The legendary Acid is in the Temple!” Weston exclaims as Acid makes his way down the stairs, pointing at Muerte the whole time. Just like Flash before him, Acid enters the rings and immediately charges the ropes and comes off with a crossbody that takes Muerte down!

“There he goes!” Bambino calls, Acid immediately going to the top rope and waiting for Muerte to get up. A dropkick puts him back down, and Acid is a house on fire! “The Believers are feeling it!!” Bambino exclaims. “Not many people in North America have seen Acid in a long time, and they seem to have missed him!”

“I know I have, Bambino, he’s my kinda guy,” Weston adds, noting that Acid is a rudo despite the warm reception.

“Yes, and we might have a chance to see that here, because here comes babyface fire!” Bambino calls as participant number five starts to make their entrance

MPPI6lV.png

“The Amazing Fire Fly is here!” Bambino calls as he charges the ring to start helping Acid with Muerte, but Acid trips him up and starts putting the boots to him.

“What’d I tell you, Bambino? My kinda guy!” Weston laughs. With three luchadores in the ring now, we’ve got a match going but it truly is every man for himself as none of them can get along long enough to form a temporary alliance. After a few spots, it’s time for our sixth entrant…

TNhGLDM.jpg

“His mentor already in the ring, here comes Acid II,” calls Weston as the masked luchador makes his way down the stairs and into the ring. Mentor and protege go to work on Muerte together, Fire Fly trying to join in before Acid kicks him in the midsection and nails him with an Acid Rain Bomb out of nowhere!

“Oh my God, he killed him!” Weston screams as Amazing Fire Fly rolls out of the ring and falls to the floor.

“He’s not eliminated,” Bambino notes as Acid and Acid II go to work on Muerte. Muerte fights back as he can, but as we get ready for our seventh entrant it looks like he’s in trouble as the pair try to force him over the top rope…

nLLSN1M.jpg

“Now, this man right here might just have something to say about how Acid and his protege are faring,” Bambino calls as The Great Avatar makes his way down to the ring.

“This man’s Japanese rivalry with Acid is the stuff of legend!” Weston calls as Avatar enters the ring and immediately puts a stop to the attempted elimination by attacking Acid. A few punches and kicks, and the attack is over because Acid II is there to aid his mentor while Muerte recovers in a corner. Acid and Acid II turn their attention from Muerte to Avatar now, working him over as we get ready for the eighth luchador to enter the Temple…

5H46xGD.jpg

Mister… Lucha… Tres!” Bambino calls as the masked legacy makes his entrance to the Temple. “Mr. Lucha III charges the ring and goes right for Acid with an elbow, and he’s got one for Acid II as well!”

Lucha III helps even the odds, he and Avatar teaming up to fight with Acid and Acid II while Muertes lies in wait in the corner.

“Muerte is smart here,” Weston says on commentary. “He’s letting the rest of them fight it out while recuperating in the corner.”

“Can’t disagree with that,” Bambino adds. The fracas in the ring continues until it is time for luchador number nine, Máscara Muerte begins cackling in the corner as smoke pours from the entrance…

ZbnuTxn.jpg

Zombi shambles out of the back, not from the entrance door but from the far side of El Jefe’s office, and slowly shuffles to the ring.

“What is… wh-what is this??” Bambino questions, obviously trying not to laugh.

“Zombi,” Weston answers. “Muerte’s undead servant.”

Zombi rolls into the ring near Muerte, and suddenly there seems to be a standoff… Muerte and Zombi in one corner, Acid and Acid II in another, Avatar and Lucha III in another. After a brief staredown and some smacktalking, all six men rush to the center of the ring as a wild brawl breaks out. Fists and sweat are flying as each duo wars with the other two.

“Wait just a minute!” Bambino cries out on commentary. “What’s that?!”

“Oh my God!” Weston screams as Amazing Fire Fly appears on top of El Jefe’s office! “Where did he come from?!”

“Where is he going??” Bambino asks.

“Only one way to go!” Weston screams as Fire Fly takes a flying leap off the top of Jefe’s office and onto the pile of wrestlers in the ring with a dazzling tope suicida. “OH MY GOD!!”

“They’re going down like bowling pins!” Bambino cries as Fire Fly lies atop the pile of luchadors for a moment before starting to get up. He gets up and celebrates for the crowd for a moment as they start the first of many chants in the Temple…. Animo! Animo!

“The Believers love it!!” Weston calls.

“And they love Fire Fly here in the Temple!” Bambino adds. He goes to pick up Muerte, but Zombi grabs his wrist out of nowhere and sits up.

“Zombi didn’t feel a thing!” Weston cries out as he gets to his feet, and grabs Fire Fly by the throat. Muerte is up now as well, and Zombi holds Fire Fly in place for a vicious Buzzsaw Kick from Muerte before dumping over the top rope.

AMAZING FIRE FLY HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“After that amazing display, Amazing Fire Fly has been eliminated!” Bambino laments. The fight in the ring resumes again, continuing to rage on as the Believers cheer on the tecnicos and boo the rudos, awaiting the tenth entrant into the match.

“We are almost at the halfway point,” Bambino notes as music begins to play.

29Hgcxp.jpg

Dragón Neón is out next, hurrying down the stairs and climbing to the top rope before entering the ring, hitting a moonsault press on Zombi and getting up to celebrate. Zombi is down for only a few seconds sitting up again, and Weston loses his mind on commentary.

“The undead luchador is up again!! What will take him down??” Weston cries.

A side fight splinters off from the main group in the ring, Mr. Lucha III following The Great Avatar to the outside when Acid and Acid II roll him out in an attempt to isolate him. Neón goes toe-to-toe with Máscara Muerte for a moment, but Zombi is right there again to pull him off and restart the double-team beating; Neón is soon in danger of being thrown over the top rope by both men.

Gm3ohWz.jpg

Dragón Americano is out now, another descendent of the Eagle tribe, of course we saw American Flash earlier,” Bambino calls as Americano makes his entrance.

“Yeah, he didn’t last long,” Weston snarks.

Americano hits the ring and goes to save Neón from The Death Tribe, the cameras showing us Acid brawl with Mr. Lucha III while Acid II has his hands full with The Great Avatar. The referees are trying to get them to go back into the ring, but the carnage will not be contained at the moment.

“This ring is filling up awfully quickly,” Bambino notes as we have eight luchadors already in the Temple, and it’s almost time for the twelfth overall entrant to make their appearance.

oqg8QlQ.jpg

Americana Jr. is another descendant of the Eagle tribe, his mentor Americana is a legend in Japan!” Weston calls as American Jr. rushes the ring to save his brother Dragón Americano from being eliminated by Muerte and Zombi, Dragón Neón at their feet near the apron after going over the top but not the ringside area. Americana makes the save, and goes to check on his partner… but Muerte grabs him!

“Kill Switch! Kill Switch!!” Weston screams as Muerte hits his actual finisher on Americana Jr., then directs Zombi to make the cover. Kumas is there to count the pinfall.

AMERICANA JR. HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

Before the pinfall has even been done, Muerte has Americano up and hits him with another Kill Switch! Muerte screams at Zombi, who moves over from Americana Jr. and makes another pinfall.

DRAGÓN AMERICANO HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“That puts Muerte at two eliinations, Zombi at three,” Bambino notes as the refs clear the losing members of the Eagle tribe out of the ring.

“And here we go with lucky number thirteen,” Weston snarks as our next entrant makes his entrance.

4qzxUvY.jpg

“The Great Silver Tiger is here!” Bambino exclaims as the Tiger God makes his entrance.

“The Great Silver Tiger, the God of the Panther Tribe, the leader of The Cult of the Silver Tiger… whatever you want to call him, he… is... here!” Weston excitedly adds as Silver Tiger makes his way to the ring. He finds Dragón Neón and promptly plants him with Silver Tiger Driver for a pinfall elimination.

DRAGÓN NEÓN HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“Oh my God!! Someone else is up there!” Weston screams, Acid II standing atop El Jefe’s office with The Great Avatar. Down below, Acid has planted Mr. Lucha III on a table and is trying to direct his protege to leap off and put him through the table, but he’s got his hands full trying to fight off The Great Avatar. While all of this is going on, it’s time for another entry!

xficZmz.jpg

Sayeed Ali, the leader of the BHC, Boyle Heights Connection,” Weston calls as the gangster makes his entrance. “The man who helped El Jefe get to Boyle Heights and locate the Temple has arrived!”

Ali seems more concerned with what is going on atop El Jefe’s office than making his way into the ring; Avatar and Acid II are fighting back-and-forth, near the edge, threatening to knock one another off. Avatar finally gains the upperhand, grabbing Acid II. Mr. Lucha slides off the table and starts brawling with Acid just as Avatar lifts Acid II up…

“OH MY GOD!!” Weston screams as they leap off the top of the office, and Acid II gets planted through the table with an Avatar Driver Mk. II!

“AVATAR DRIVER MARK TWO!!” Bambino screeches as the camera shows us the heap of table and luchador on the outside. Mr. Lucha III forces Acid back into the ring. Avatar and Acid II look in no condition to go anywhere, and the cameras go back inside the ring as Sayeed Ali finally makes his way in and heads straight for Mr. Lucha III and Acid to help the heel regain the upperhand. It isn’t long before he lifts Mr. Lucha III up and hits him with a GHB Driver for the pinfall.

MR. LUCHA III HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“And Sayeed Ali takes the first step towards claiming the Temple Championship,” Weston notes as Mr. Lucha III is rolled out of the ring.

BdXj8UA.jpg

Extraordinario Jr. is out next.

“Only five luchadors left to go,” Bambino notes as Extraordianrio Jr. makes his entrance to the ring, heading straight to the top and coming down on a group of luchadors with a corkscrew plancha. SIlver Tiger is the only luchador not caught up in the move, and he pounces on the opportunity to grab the undead Zombi and throw him over the top rope.

ZOMBI HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

F4jP1N8.jpg

JOJI is the next luchador to join the fray, and he heads straight for Silver Tiger.

“JOJI is a descendant of the deer tribe, or the hunting tribe, and he would love nothing more than to bag the Great Silver Tiger!” Bambino exclaims. He takes the fight to Silver Tiger as other brawls continue all over the ring, Acid II and The Great Avatar finally starting to stir from the rubble outside and crawl towards the ring. Acid helps his protege, guarding him in a corner but The Great Avatar is easy pickings for Sayeed Ali… or so it would seem, as The Great Avatar clings to the top rope for dear life and fights elimination. Muerte goes to the corner to square off with Acid, rekindling their fight from earlier in the match.

Animo! Animo!

“The cry of the Believers, the war cry,” Bambino explains as the Believers in the Temple chant while the fight rages on in the ring.

DLP8kZ0.jpg

Jayson “The Sensation” Van Pelt, enters at number seventeen,” Bambino exclaims.

“JVP, if you didn’t know,” Weston adds as Van Pelt stands at the top of the stairs and does a pose that might be familiar in another universe, thumbs pointing to his shoulders as he says his initials, “J… V… P!”

He heads to the ring and goes right for Extraordinario Jr.. While Acid and Muerte brawl, JOJI and Silver Tiger continue to fight, and Sayeed Ali has given up on trying to eliminate The Great Avatar. He turns his attentions to the still-recovering Acid II, but in a shift of fates, Avatar and Acid II team up to eliminate Ali!

SAYEED ALI HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

2hbfz4t.jpg

“And here comes Silver Tiger’s loyal lackey, Amo Del Gato!” Bambino says as entrant number eighteen makes his entrance. He immediately goes to work aiding Silver Tiger with eliminating JOJI.

JOJI HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

Acid is back over with his protege now, and together they team up to take out The Great Avatar.

THE GREAT AVATAR HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

They turn around to a double clothesline from Silver Tiger and Amo Del Gato, Tiger connecting with Acid II and putting him out while Amo Del Gato narrowly misses the elimination of Acid, who lands on the apron and rolls back inside the ring.

ACID II HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

lAPIxNc.jpg

Rey Serpiente, the King of Snakes!” Bambino calls as the second to last entrant makes his way to the ring.

“Honest Frank can’t be pleased with a snake in his Temple!” Weston calls.

“You wanna get in there and get rid of him?” Bambino questions with a laugh.

“No, not at all,” Weston laughs.

In their fighting, Extradordinario Jr. and JVP take each other out over the top rope.

EXTRAORDIANRIO JR. HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

JAYSON VAN PELT HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“And I think there’s only one person that can be number twenty…” Weston says as the operatic music from earlier begins.

VlKho3J.jpg

“The Priest of Pain, Pablo Rodriguez!” Bambino calls as the final entrant makes his way to the ring to join Máscara Muerte, Acid, Silver Tiger, Amo Del Gato, and Rey Serpiente. At first, the tecnico Priest of Pain seems outnumbered by the rudos, but fan favorite rudo Acid switches sides before a big brawl breaks out. The first casualty is Amo Del Gato, who finds himself pinned after an Acid Rain Bomb.

AMO DEL GATO HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

Rey Serpiente hits the Snake Bite on Silver Tiger to put him away.

SILVER TIGER HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“We are down to four!” Bambino announces.

“Acid, Rey Serpiente, Pablo Rodriguez, and the man who entered at number one, Máscara Muerte,” Weston informs us all. Rey Serpiente pairs off with Acid while the Priest of Pain turns his attention to the man, nay, the god, he has been here to battle all along, Máscara Muerte. Acid and Serpiente end up battling on the top rope, jockeying for position to hit their move but neither can get it until Acid finally hefts Serpiente up and, letting the momentum carry them, plunges over the top rope and through a table with an Acid Rain Bomb!

ACID HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

REY SERPIENTE HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

“And then there were two!” Bambino decrees, Pablo Rodriguez and Máscara Muerte unphased in their brawling by the eliminations.

“And the battle continues,” Weston says. “The tale as old as time, good versus evil!”

“Man versus god,” Bambino asserts.

The last several minutes of Aztec Warfare is a one-on-one encounter between Muerte and Rodrgiuez, the Mask of Death throwing everything he can at Rodriguez but finding himself unable to get him thrown over the top rope. Rodriguez goes for the Sinner’s Salvation as soon as he gets the upperhand, but finds it countered into a vicious Buzzsaw Kick!

“That move has finished luchadors in Aztec Warfare already tonight!” Weston says.

“But can it finish the Priest of Pain?” Bambino asks.

“No!” Weston answers, Rodriguez catching himself on the ropes as Muerte attempts to throw him over and rolling back into the ring. Muerte pulls him back up, and ANOTHER Buzzsaw Kick puts Rodriguez down. Muerte goes for a pinfall this time, but only gets a two count!

“He’s going for the Kill Switch!” Weston shouts as Muerte picks him up again, but Rodriguez counters!

“Final Judgement!! Will that do it?!” Bambino questions, but the move only gets a two count.

Both men are down when Babau and Moroi crawl out from under the ring!

“What are they doing here?! They’re not supposed to be involved in Aztec Warfare!” Bambino shouts.

“I don’t think it matters,” Weston asserts. “There aren’t many rules in Aztec Warfare, and I don’t think this goes against any of them!”

The Waking Nightmares hit the ring and put the boots to the Priest of Pain, Muerte cackling as he hoists himself up and starts directing traffic. They go for a Sleep Paralysis but Rodriguez reverses! Final Judgement to Moroi, Sinner’s Salvation on Babau!! But the distraction has done it’s job, Muerte has Rodriguez… KILL SWITCH!! 1… 2… 3!!!

PABLO RODRIGUEZ HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

WINNER, AND NEW LUCHA UNDERGROUND TEMPLE CHAMPION: MÁSCARA MUERTE

tdogk2w.jpg

MATCH RATING: 39

“The Death Tribe controls the Temple Championship!” Bambino cries.

“What does this mean for the Temple?” Weston ponders.

“What does this mean for the Believers?! We’ll see you next week!” Bambino signs off.

Edited so my post won't spoil the result, sorry to hijack the post, someone had too :0

Great start, and a smart choice to establish the championship! Just loaded up the default database for the first time to check out your roster, as I am totally new to C-verse. Acid/Rey Serpiente intrigues me because both guys look cool :p

Thanks guys, I truly appreciate it! The Tiger thing was just leftover from where I copied the coding of Silver Tiger being eliminated and forgot to erase the full name, I fixed it now. :)

I really appreciate the kind comments, I spent all afternoon writing and polishing Aztec Warfare to get the show posted today. Glad you're both enjoying it so much, I hope everyone else is as well.

Fantastic start. Writing battle royals is hard as hell And you knocked it out of the park.

Minor thing, on Acid and Rey SERPIENTE's eliminations they have tiger attached to their names.

Aztec Warfare! What a great way to start off a dynasty, big fan of Aztec Warfare being written out with each spot & elimination. You've got some of my favorite peeps on your roster, the sky is the limit for Zombi as long as he's paired with Máscara Muerte ;)

This is tremendous stuff, excited to follow along with this thread!

Aztec Warfare is the BEST

Got introduced to a lot of interesting characters. I usually shy away from CVERSE diary because I don't know any of these dudes, but the context of LU allows you to dive me a good insight to who they are and what they want.

Loves JSP as a RVD type of athletic douchy guy, and the Priest has a killer look.

Looking forward to see more of this!

Thanks everyone, Death Tribe versus Pablo Rodriguez is going to be a focal point so there's plenty of Muerte and Pablo to come!

As far as bringing in the women, I have a few ideas and I have the product set to integrated; it will definitely happen, just maybe not so much in the first part of season one. There are a couple women on the roster already, though, capable of mixing it up... they'll be introduced in the next few episodes!

great first show, I did find myself wondering if you're gonna bring in any women, it was a big part of LU and I feel there are definitely some cverse women that could fit in well.

The scene fades in on El Jefe’s office where Honest Frank sits behind his desk smoking a cigar, feet kicked up near the pile of golden Aztec Medallions.

“So, here’s what I’m thinkin’,” Frank says as the camera pans back to reveal the Aztec Guardian standing stoically nearby. “You’s sayin’ the luchadores that come to the Temple will fight over these ancient medallion thingies, and I get to put them up for grabs?” The Guardian nods. “And when all seven a’ these things is togetha, they make the Gift of the Gods?” Another nod. “Hmmmm…”

Frank puts his feet down and sits up in his chair, spreading the pile out into a line on his desk before taking another pull from his cigar.

“Each one represents a, whatcha call, tribe? And we got guys from the tribes already here in the Temple… I bet guys want their own tribal medallions from their descendents or whateva. Man, I can… I can do whatever I want to make guys jump through hoops for these things,” Frank leans back smuggly.

“They must be earned through lucha, Jefe,” the Guardian reminds him.

“Yeah, yeah, I can’t just give ‘em away, and who would wanna?” Frank chides. “But there’s nothin’ says I can’t stack the deck in my favor for the final showdown… make sure I handpick my next Temple Champion, someone who can take down Muerte.”

“You wish to dethrone the God of Death, Jefe?” the Guardian inquires.

“I mean, why would I want some vengeful god hangin’ around my Temple? Ready to strike me down whenever the mood hits him and take my Temple for himself?” Frank asks.

“You seem paranoid, Jefe… Máscara Muerte seeks only the glory the Temple offers, not the Temple itself,” the Aztec Guardian tries to put Frank’s worries at ease.

“Who wouldn’t want this place for themselves?” Frank asks. “I mean, I came across it at a pawn shop, coulda just as easily won it in a game a’ cards or somethin’! You tellin’ me a god wouldn’t cut me down and take it, just because? Make it a… a… a Temple a’ Death or somethin’?!”

The Guardian doesn’t have a reply.

“That’s what I thought,” Frank says confidently.

¿Y el padre? Pablo Rodriguez?” the Guardian asks.

“The padre? That goody-goody?” Frank scoffs.”What, so he can donate the gold to orphans? I think not… no, I got a guy in mind… I just gotta get word back east…”

Big props for diving into Aztec history. Reading about the Gods myself, and I'm interested to see how that will be used here. Nice second show too, somehow I missed it the first time

Thanks man, the Aztecs have some truly bonkers history that is ripe for LU adaptation. I wanted to have something of a gang warfare vibe going on between the Tribes to cause some natural conflict along with the more pro-wrestling style conflicts.

Great second show!

El Padre's gonna be my favourite, i can feel it. What isn't there to like about a priest going against the forced of evil inside an Aztec Temple? His intro promo to start the show was damn good!

Solid second show, as things get in place, with the GotD being a nice tool to set up conflicts!

COMING SOON TO LUCHA UNDERGROUND...

===================

Thanks for the kind words about Pablo's promo, I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Pablo vs Muerte is really the only obvious money feud to start with from the roster I have, so I hope you enjoy the season one ride!

Season 1, Episode 3

Announce Team: Lee Bambino and CJ Weston

Location: Boyle Heights Temple

Show Rating: 44

SEASON 1, EPISODE 3

RHZ4Hyi.jpgBdXj8UA.jpg

This episode begins with Extraordinario Jr. walking into the office of El Jefe himself, Honest Frank.

“Jefe, I--” the masked luchador begins, but Frank cuts him off.

“Hey, don’t you know how to knock?” Frank chides, but Extraordinario just grimaces and sneers at him.

“I will not stand for this, Jefe!” he says angrily. “I will not stand to be cheated like I was last week!”

“Ah, you're mad about, what’s his face? JVP?” Frank smirks. “All’s fair in love and war, they say… and inside the Temple is war, my friend. So, what? You want a rematch or somethin’?” he asks.

“I want redemption!” Extraordinario demands. “I will not stand to be cheated and disappoint my fans!”

“Ah, the Believers are your fans, are they?” Franks asks smugly, but Extraordinario just nods, looking ready for action. “Well, I hate to disappoint you, uh… Extra-ordinary-o, is it?” Another nod. “But we’ve got a full night of action already planned for this week… but, I’ll tell you what… next week, for the first time, we’re gonna have a showdown for one of these…”

Frank reaches into a desk drawer, faint glow coming from it as he pulls out an Aztec Medallion and holds it up for Extraordinario Jr. to see; the masked luchador smiles.

“You know what this is, don’t ya?” Frank asks.

“Si, si,” the masked luchador excitedly answers. “My way into the Gift of the Gods match!”

“Yes, yours or maybe… Acid’s way into the Gift of the Gods match,” Frank tells him. “I guess we’ll find out next week… ??? How’d that be for a chance at redemption?” The masked luchador gives another big smile and nod before leaving the office. Frank’s demeanor immediately changes, annoyance washing over him as he slumps his shoulders and tosses the medallion on the desk.

“Friggin’ egos on these luchadores, man…” Frank says before he’s interrupted by a knock at the door. “Ah, finally, someone with enough class to knock! Come in…” he says, the camera slowly zooming in on Frank as he leans forward in a bit of disbelief. “Ah, finally… you’re here,” he smiles. The camera never shows us who has entered the office before the opening fade-in takes us to the Temple.

SEGMENT RATING: 35

“Welcome to the Temple, Believers!” Lee Bambino exclaims as the show begins. “Welcome to Lucha Underground!”

rtKbCkg.jpg

“The following lucha is a tag team match, and is scheduled for one fall!” Nicole Kiss excitedly announces, getting the crowd pumped up for the entrances. “Making their way to the ring, accompanied by The Black Cat… from The Obsidian Temple… Los Gatos Salvaje!”

Two maked men and a masked woman make their way into the Temple, the woman stalking down the stairs on all fours behind the masked tag team as the announcers tell us they are part of The Cult of the Silver Tiger.

“And their opponents, accompanied by Becca… from Rock City USA… The Rock… City… Stars!!”

Rockin’ Ryan and Stan the Man air guitar their way into the Temple and down the stairs, really playing to the crowd during their entrance.

l6ShruF.jpglZMkCZc.jpgUnclLYn.jpgmkEqWdw.jpgAFbyolf.jpgHn5Z1zf.jpg

LOS GATOS SALVAJE VERSUS ROCK CITY EXPRESS

These teams are all fire from the start, going all out to whip the crowd into a frenzy with fast-paced, high flying lucha libre action.

“Rapid fire!” Weston exclaims during a particularly intense sequence of dual reversals and stalemates with all four luchadors in the ring that ends with dodged dropkicks and ducked lariats. “Can you believe what you’re seeing here, Bambino?!”

“Of course I can,” Bambino replies. “I’m a Believer!”

As Weston groans over the pun, the match settles into a more relaxed but still high intensity pace. The end sees Black Cat trying to get involved on behalf of her fellow Cult members, but Becca from Rock City Express is having none of it… she pulls Cat off the apron and tackles her.

“Would you call this a catfight, Bambino?” Weston tries a pun of his own.

“I call this Lucha Underground!” Bambino answers, unphased by the pun.

As Black Cat and Becca brawl on the outside, Rock City Express sets up for their finisher, the Cover Version, but El Jaguar slips out and puts Rockin’ Ryan out of the ring with a shove face-first into the turnbuckle. From there, Jaguar and Tigre Salvaje take control and put an end to the match with a move Bambino excitedly calls the Wildcat Strike.

WINNERS: LOS GAOTS SALVAJE

MATCH RATING: 46

Following a commercial break, we return to the Temple where Mr. Lucha III is in the ring for a promo.

“We haven’t seen this man since Aztec Warfare,” Bambino says as the masked legacy soaks in the cheers of the Believers.

“He had a good showing, but he was ultimately taken out by Sayeed Ali, who we will be seeing in trios action later,” Weston says before Mr. Lucha III begins to speak.

“I may not descend from an Aztec tribe like my opponent tonight, but my mask comes from a great lineage,” he explains as he did in the first episode. “Mr. Lucha I, my uncle, mi tío, is one of the most legendary luchadores in all of Mexico and now I wear the mask in Lucha Underground! I fight for the same honor and the same glory as the Aztec tribes to bring pride to my legacy.”

Mr. Lucha III is interrupted by the sound of a tiger’s roar, and Silver Tiger appears atop the entrance steps into the Temple.

“Your lineage pales in comparison to mine, the favored of the god Tezcatlipoca,” the silver-masked luchador claims. “The great Silver Tiger comes for your legacy!”

SEGMENT RATING: 47

Nicole Kiss enters the ring as Silver Tiger makes his entrance, ready to do her job.

“The following lucha is scheduled for one fall! In this corner, from The Obsidian Temple, Silver… Tiger! And his opponent, from Mexico City, Mexico… Mister… Lucha… Tres!”

5H46xGD.jpg4qzxUvY.jpg

MR. LUCHA III VERSUS SILVER TIGER

“Both of these men are very popular in Mexico, about to show Lucha Underground what they can do!” says Bambino as the match begins. The two seem to be just a little off as the match goes on, not really clicking all that well despite commentary giving their accomplishments in Mexico the hard sell.

The ending sees the luchadores going toe-to-toe, Mr. Lucha III attempting his Third Strike finisher but Silver Tiger avoiding it.

“Silver Tiger ducking under the Third Strike, kick to the midsection now by Silver Tiger,” Bambino calls as the finish continues to unfold. “Tiger has the hooks and… SILVER TIGER DRIVER!”

WINNER: SILVER TIGER

MATCH RATING: 38

After the match, the rest of the Cult of the Silver Tiger make their way to the ring and lift up Mr. Lucha III just as they had JOJI last week and attempt to carry him out for sacrifice.

“Wait just a minute!” Weston cries as JOJI appears atop El Jefe’s office.

F4jP1N8.jpg

“The hunter is here!” Bambino adds as JOJI stalks across the top of the office with a spear in his hand. Amo Del Gato is the first to notice him, screaming at his companions to move. Mr. Lucha III is dropped in the commotion of the Cult scurrying away, JOJI screaming incoherently and threatening to launch the spear as Silver Tiger and his followers all hightail it out of the Temple without a sacrifice for the second week in a row.

SEGMENT RATING: 18

After a commercial break, the Boyle Heights Connection is out for a promo, Sayeed Ali doing the speaking for his mostly silent accomplices.

“Boyle Heights…” Sayed Ali begins, the crowd not sure how to react to the locals. “Allow me to introduce myself and the homies… my name is Sayeed Ali, this over here is Mobstar and my boy Gravedigga… together, we the Boyle Heights Connection, or the BHC. Now, me and the homies here, we done did a lot of work helping El Jefe find his way out here from the Big Apple and, in return, Jefe’s promised us a few things.”

“Just what has El Jefe promised these men?” Bambino ponders as Gravedigga and Mobstar nod in agreement with their leader.

“First, and, well, only thing he promised… is gold, or the chance at it,” Ali says. “So tonight we got a trios match, the first of the trios tourney; three trios matches, six trios become three… and those three face off for the Lucha Underground Trios Championship! So I dunno who we facin’ tonight, but the BHC about to 187 some fools, so get some bodies out here!”

SEGMENT RATING: 41

Nicole Kiss enters the ring, a bit wary of the obvious gang members eyeing her up-and-down in the ring.

“The following lucha is a trios match, and is the first of three Trios Tourney matches,” she announces. “Already in the ring, from Boyle Heights, the B… H… C!”

“And their opponents, now entering the Temple…” she says as three colorful but mysterious babyface luchadores appear atop the Temple steps. “Amazing Fire Fly, The Great Avatar, and Dragón Neón!”

xficZmz.jpgrsjidOe.jpgtPqInJS.jpgMPPI6lV.pngnLLSN1M.jpg29Hgcxp.jpg

BOYLE HEIGHTS CONNECTION VERSUS AMAZING FIRE FLY, THE GREAT AVATAR, AND DRAGÓN NEÓN

“Apparently we’ve got the beginnings of a tourney on our hands here,” Bambino observes as the match begins.

“One can only wonder the other four trios involved,” Weston responds. “I mean, we’ve got an obvious unit on one side of the ring, and a hodgepodge of talent on the other.”

“Well, I mean, Avatar and Fire Fly are both descended from the Moth Tribe, but, to my knowledge, this is their first time ever being on the same side of the ring together,” Bambino says as Gravedigga starts off against Avatar. When the heels are in control, it’s with hard-hitting brawling; when the faces shine, it’s with fast-paced high flying. Fire Fly teases going to the top of Jefe’s office for a dive as he did in Aztec Warfare, but settles for a leaping cross body off the stairway beside it onto Mobstar near the middle of the match.

The finish sees Sayeed Ali with Amazing Fire Fly in the ring while the other four men are involved in a chaotic scene all around the ringside area; Ali uses a particularly devastating-looking GBH Driver on the small luchador for the victory.

WINNERS: BOYLE HEIGHTS CONNECTION

MATCH RATING: 39

Gravedigga and Mobstar put down their opponents on the outside before rolling back into the ring to celebrate with Ali.

“Not to discredit any of the luchadors who stood across the ring from them, but I have to think this is a fix by El Jefe to get his guys the easy win,” Bambino postulates.

“I’m not sure I’d call any win here in the Temple ‘easy’, Bambino,” Weston suggests. “I mean, that Fire Fly guy is little, but have you seen the way he flies off of things around here? And that Avatar guy, too?”

“Fair enough, Believers, we’ll see you right after this!” Bambino admits before sending it to commercial.

VlKho3J.jpg

When the show comes back, we join a cinematic promo in a graveyard somewhere at dusk; the headstones are all very old and were fairly ornate before falling into disrepair. We finally come upon a large headstone of a kneeling angel, and pan to the side to see Pablo Rodrgiuez kneeling before it and finishing a prayer with a rosary in his hand.

“Amén,” he says before standing, the camera moving up with him and revealing Máscara Muerte standing behind him! But El Padre doesn’t see him! “My beloved, I will avenge you soon,” he promises the headstone before turning around right into Muerte!

OhPdCFd.jpg

“Is your obsession with vengeance not a sin, father?” Muerte asks.

“Dios mío!” Rodriguez exclaims, taking a step back. “The Mask of Death himself… what vessel have you taken under that visage this time, Muerte?”

“It matters not, father,” Muerte responds. “There will always be followers of mine willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for Mictlāntēcutli, men and women willing to submit their lives to bring me treasures. Treasures like this…”

From seemingly nowhere, Muerte produces the Lucha Underground Temple Championship and lifts it high in one hand.

“And you could do nothing to stop me!” Muerte laughs.

Maldita sea!” Pablo Rodriguez exclaims, stomping his foot on the sacred ground.

“Such language, El Padre,” Muerte chides him.

“I will not suffer belittlement by the likes of you!” Rodriguez shouts, lunging forward but Muerte disappears. “MUERTE!!” he shouts, clutching his rosary in his fist and looking around frantically. “Show yourself!”

The camera shows us an overhead view of Pablo Rodriguez alone in the cemetery, slowly panning up and further away from him as he screams in anguish; it is clear his past with Máscara Muerte still torments him.

SEGMENT RATING: 62

The cinematic segment fades away, and we are back in the Temple as Nicole Kiss begins to announce our main event for the evening.

“The following lucha is scheduled for one fall!” she says. “Coming to the ring, from El Monasterio... El Padre Pablo… Rodríguez!!”

“The Believers love El Padre!” Bambino exclaims as Rodriguez makes his way down the stairs and into the ring.

“And his opponent, from Beyond the Grave… Zombi!”

Zombi shambles out from the far side of El Jefe’s office and makes his way to the ring.

VlKho3J.jpgZbnuTxn.jpg

PABLO RODRIGUEZ VERSUS ZOMBI

The match starts off almost comedic with Zombi shambling around the ring like doesn’t realize he’s in a fight; but then, when Rodriguez goes to throw the first strike, Zombi comes to life to block and fight back. Zombi wows the crowd with some high flying, even drawing an Animo! chant when he climbs to the top rope, sticks his arms out like he does when he’s shambling, and then hits Pablo with a moonsault.

“Oh my God!” Weston cries when he sees the move, and it even gets a picture-in-picture instant replay.

Unfortunately, just like in the earlier singles bout, these two just don’t click in the ring together and despite getting Zombi over with the Believers, it doesn’t accomplish much else of note for either competitor. The finish sees The Waking Nightmare try to get involved, Máscara Muerte standing atop the entrance stairs and directing traffic. Just like Aztec Warfare, however, Rodriguez overcomes the numbers game to rid the ring of Babau and Moroi and hits Zombi with Sinner’s Salvation for the victory.

WINNERS: PABLO RODRIGUEZ

MATCH RATING: 32

“What is that sound??” Bambino questions before Máscara Muerte is revealed to be blowing on an Aztec death whistle.

“I don’t like this one bit, Bambino,” Weston says.

“This is… this is unnerving!” Bambino says as Rodriguez starts to cower a bit in the ring just from the sound.

“We’re out of time, we’ll see you next week, Believers!” Weston shouts as The Death Tribe all converge around Muerte on the steps as Rodriguez screams in the ring.

The scene fades in on El Jefe’s office where Honest Frank sits behind his desk smoking a cigar, feet kicked up near the pile of golden Aztec Medallions as is often the case. He is playing with one of the Medallions in his hands, taking a big puff from his cigar before sitting it down on the lip of an ashtray.

“Our first Medallion match,” he says dreamily. “The Believers are growing… the Temple numbers are gonna be big this week, I can feel it!”

Just then, there’s a knock at the door and Frank sits up in his chair hopefully.

“Come in?” he asks as the camera slowly zooms in on his face and we see the wide smile that crosses his lips as we hear the office door close. “Ah, come in, my friend… come, have a seat,” he says cheerfully, greeting the unseen visitor. We briefly see a form come into view before they sit in a chair on the opposite side of Frank’s desk, the only discernible thing about them is that they are wearing a leather jacket.

“Thanks for comin’ all a’ this way,” Frank says. “I really appreciate it. I got a few things need dealt with, and I don’t know anybody betta’ to do the job… ‘member that thing back in Jersey? Nobody does it betta’ than you, huh?” We can barely make out that the person is nodding by some hair shaking in-and-out of frame. “Well, where to begin? First, I got a snake problem… three of ‘em in the Temple, Guardian says I gotta let ‘em in but you know I feel about snakes, and spiders, and rats.”

The figure nods again.

“Ha, yeah, I got a, how you say? An Aztec prince guarding the place,” Frank beams.

“Then what do you need me for?” a gruff voice asks.

“Ah, he’s too by-the-book for my liking,” Frank scoffs. “Says I gotta open the Temple to everyone who comes to fight. Don’t get me wrong, shit hits the fan I’ll be glad to have some spirit a’ some Aztec prince on my side, but I need someone I know I can trust to see and do things my way… that’s where you come in,” he explains. “Me an’ you, we go way back, how many jobs you done for me?? Countless, right?”

Another nod from the man in the chair.

“That’s why I need you out here on the coast with me,” Frank explains. “You do some work for me, I send some cash an’ some gold your way for the trouble. But the snakes, that’s not even the biggest problem right now… there’s this, uh, guy… Máscara Muerte… he’s got my Temple Championship right now. This other guy, real goody-goody type despite all his bellyachin’... name a’ Pablo Rodriguez, a padre, actually… you know what he’ll do with the gold if he gets his hands on it,” Frank says followed by an overzealous laugh; his friend joins him in the laugh briefly.

“Well, basically, I need you around to be my insurance policy,” Frank says. “You take my directions, ask no questions, just give me a price… we got a deal, Ernie?” Frank extends his hand, and soon the men are shaking on the deal.

“Sounds good as usual, boss,” the man says as we see him for the time while he stands up, still shaking hands with Frank. “Thanks.”

“No, Ernie, thank you,” Frank grins as they shake hands for an uncomfortable amount of time as the scene fades out.
