<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Started</span>: 1/17/21</p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Finalized</span>: 1/18/21 </p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Recognition Of The Year Section</strong></span></p><p>

---</p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award</span>: Dalton</p><p>

<strong>Comments</strong>: Dalton began his diary writing career with the launch of 2020 and his short-lived New York diary. From there, he blossomed into a writer who won Diary of the Month on multiple occasions for his AEW Diary and even launched a puro diary that has been very good. He has consistently improved as he has gotten experience and has turned into a standout producer of content on the GDS boards.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Best Diary Not To Win DOTM Of The Year Award (Must have been active in 2020 but never won DOTM</span>): </p><p>

<strong>Nominee One</strong>: <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=548191" rel="external nofollow">A Change in the Corporate Landscape</a> by Corporate Icon -- I thought this diary was excellent and I really hope it makes a return. I really like the presentation of it. The commentary bits are/were excellent.</p><p>

<strong>Nominee Two</strong>: <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=545978" rel="external nofollow">Mid Atlantic Wrestling: The Sam Keith Saga</a> by Sco_xY2Jx</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">New Diary Writer Of The Year Award (Never written a diary before 2020</span>):</p><p>

<strong>Nominee One</strong>: Dalton - His first diary was New York State of Mind earlier in 2020 so he fully qualifies.</p><p>

<strong>Nominee Two</strong>: Corporate Icon</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award Nominee One</span>: willr0ck</p><p>

<strong>Comments</strong>: willr0ck has contributed immensely to the GDS boards. 2020 saw him get inducted into the Hall of Fame for his contributions. He has created hundreds of renders, he released his own mod for 2020 to add women into the CVerse, he has had two diaries. He is the epitome of a Jack of All Trades and has consistently contributed to the success of this community. </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award Nominee Two</span>: Togg</p><p>

<strong>Comments</strong>: He will kick me for nominating him, but I don't care. He's Welsh, they don't scare me none. Togg has consistently provided the GDS boards with a stabilizing factor. He's been a part of many RW mods. He's made graphics for lots of writers (me included). He runs the DOTM and DOTY and HOF and consistently updates them to make them a big part of the experience.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award Nominee Three</span>: TheLloyd</p><p>

<strong>Comments</strong>: Not only is TheLloyd a fantastic Diary Writer, 2020 also saw him begin to dabble into the render-alt business, creating alt renders for dozens and dozens of workers and fulfilling requests. He's done several for me personally as well as many other people. He is a regularly reader and predictor on a multitude of diaries and consistently contributes positively to the community. We are better off for having him, even if he is a real so and so.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Most Shocking Section</span></strong></p><p>

---</p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;">Most Shocking Signing Of The Year Award</span></p><p>

<strong>Nominee One</strong>: Adam Cole in <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=548893" rel="external nofollow">All Elite Wrestling: Are You #AllElite</a> by Dalton- The arrival of Adam Cole baybay towards the tail end of this diary really caught me by surprise and felt like he was going to be a major player in the company, which to me is the whole point of a shocking signing. Someone who really shakes things up and becomes a big deal.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nominee Two:</strong> Nicky Champion in <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=545872&page=7" rel="external nofollow">SWF & RIPW - The Supreme Network</a> by moafnsteel - I wouldn't think that SWF would have been able to out bid USPW for their franchise, but they did and it really shocked me to see Nicky Champion in the same company as Rocky Golden and Scythe and Spencer Spade, mixing it up with all of those gems.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Earlier today I thought I'd best come on and send in my nominations; it's ended up taking me WAY too long. And I don't think I'm fully finished actually I'll hopefully fill in the blanks I left. For 2 of them I gave 2 nominations, if that's not allowed just take the first one.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Recognition Of The Year Section</strong></span></p><p>

---</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award: Devilb0y</strong></p><p>

Comments: I was initially considering him for the new diary writer award but then I noticed he had a diary in 2012. Granted I’ve not properly read this one but his presentation definitely improved and to go from one diary which never properly got going to the impressive run he had with TCW in 2020 is a great improvement.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Diary Not To Win DOTM Of The Year Award (Must have been active in 2020 but never won DOTM): </strong><a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=546695" rel="external nofollow"><strong>20LEgend: Paul Heyman's TNA 2010 | The Young, Hungry, Aggressive Alternative!</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: I had to triple check this as I could have sworn he had won. It’s been consistently great. I think the main thing I often look for in a real world diary (but with TNA especially) is for it to stay in the realms of possibility but also go in a different direction. I think with real word diaries if it sticks too close to what has/could happen in real life then what’s the point, but also if it strays too far away from what the promotion is then I can lose interest. I think the line is walked perfectly in this diary.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>New Diary Writer Of The Year Award (Never written a diary before 2020): Willsky</strong></p><p>

Comments: His first diary was an impressive complete full year of OLLIE which was very well received. Although his next two were shorter lived (PSP & CWW) they were both unique and great reads. Again now with PWL he has an interesting promotion.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award: Historian</strong></p><p>

Comments: I imagine this award is often to (rightly) recognize a lot of the great non diary work people do from mods to alt renders and things like that. But as I’m not too knowledgeable with it all I’ll go a little different with this. Obviously his diaries receive plenty of deserved recognition but I'd say the nom is more for his activity on the boards in general. I'll often go around to make sure I'm keeping on top of other diaries I'm following and almost every time Historian has predicted/commented offered support. It's good to have someone on the boards who's active with their diaries but also consistently participates on other threads.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Most Shocking Section</strong></p><p>

---</p><p>

<strong>Most Shocking Signing Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2455970&postcount=460" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Joss Thompson in The_Lloyd's RAW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: Obviously in ways Jack Bruce going to RAW was more shocking but the reveal of Joss was really great </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Most Shocking Push Of The Year Award:</strong></p><p>

Comments: </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Most Shocking Championship Win Of The Year Award:</strong></p><p>

Comments:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Most Shocking Heel/Face Turn Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2431477&postcount=186" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Kerry Wayne's heel turn in The Lloyd's RAW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: Went in the complete opposite direction that I went in luckily, was perfect to have him turn heel by joining his family but also to go against his old friend and Will. (although a special mention to Riley for breaking Doug’s heart)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Individual Focus Section</strong></p><p>

---</p><p>

<strong>Worker Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2455970&postcount=460" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Blake Belushi in The_Lloyd's RAW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: Unbeaten throughout, in lots of great matches and then part of one of my favourite moments in the whole diary. There were lots of great characters in this diary but I wanted to stick somewhat in kayfabe and pick someone who was also dominant. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Face Character Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2455608&postcount=106" rel="external nofollow"><strong>John Blackfyre in Devilb0y's TCW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: Every segment he was involved in (including the build up to his debut) was really well done. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Heel Character Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=546088" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Alicia Strong in 20LEgend's USPW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: I think in terms of show quality this would be right up in my list of DotY’s actually, so I know I needed to give it the nod for something. I think Strong in this was perfect, and especially because she’s such a big character in the C-verse itself that makes it extra special. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Tag Team Of The Year Award: l</strong><a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=544098" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Dan & Robin DeLay in Self's CGC</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: This was just such a fun dynamic with Dan trying to teach his boy the ways of a DeLay. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Stable/Faction Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=547101" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Los Siete Pecados Capitales in LaEstrella's EMLL</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: A great idea behind the stable with the 7 deadly sins, and Demon King was a badass guy to have head a group.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=546695" rel="external nofollow">The New Age in 20LEgend's TNA</a></p><p>

Putting Jimmy Jacobs in with the knockouts was a great move and throughout it’s different iterations it’s been a key part of making sure that division was interesting.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Champion/Reign Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=547295" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Aaron Andrews in Devilb0y's TCW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: Some huge PPV wins off the top of my head I remember Edd Stone, Wolf Hawkins and Josuha Taylor. He was built really well as AA in TCW needs to be and made the eventual loss at Total Mayhem really matter. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=546695" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Kurt Angle in 20LEgend's TNA</strong></a></p><p>

With so much good talent at the top of the card it’s fairly surprising that Kurt has kept the title for this long, but it’s done wonders in setting the bar and making the TNA World Heavyweight Title seem prestigious.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Angle Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="https://www.docdroid.net/vmCdf9C/episode-7-pdf" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Tag Team Speed Dating in christmas_ape's RAW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: I’m allowing myself one self indulgent vote (I believe it's allowed), which feels a little wrong but it’s good to pad out the categories to get a good list of noms. Also this won a RAWard which is reader voted for so I’m picking it from that. This is one angle where when I read back I think I could improve on it (and I do plan on having a TTSP 2) but I remember being proud of the actual idea and it’s led to 2 tag teams who are going to be important parts of my diary. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Match Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2455970&postcount=460" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Swoop McCarthy vs Blake Belushi for RAW Title in The_Lloyd's RAW</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: Had everything 2 belts, 2 dominant interesting characters, plenty of shenanigans. Perfect way to end a big show.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Storyline/Feud Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2452808&postcount=113" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Operation Anti-Venom in LaEstrella’s EMLL</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: This served as both a really fun and unique side story, a great way to build up lore for the world of EMLL and also a fantastic way to debut a new wrestler.</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=546695" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Jeff Hardy vs Desmond Wolfe in 20LEgend's TNA</strong></a></p><p>

Was a really big storyline that built Wolfe up by having him feud with someone like Hardy. They traded wins and must have been feuding for a good 6 months culminating in the last man standing match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cornellverse Diary Of The Year Award:</strong></p><p>

Comments: It’s a strong group already up, I don’t think I have any to add. There are a lot of great more recent diaries that may have started at the tail end of 2020 but I’m trying to focus solely on stuff within 2020. For example whilst I’m enjoying both Lloyd and Willsky’s current diaries it would feel a little wrong to personally nominate them as I’ve only started reading in 2021. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Writer Of The Year Award: 20LEgend</strong></p><p>

Comments: I’ve already nominated his TNA diary and talked about that, but also enjoyed both his ECW and USPW. A nice mixture of c-verse/real world, traditional diary/youtube. Really good all round work.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Best Graphic Presentation Of The Year Award: </strong><a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=545098" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Eisen-Verse's SWF: The Evolution of Supreme</strong></a></p><p>

Comments: A fantastic all round diary. EV obviously deserves all the praise he gets for both his writing and the presentation but as I personally took plenty of little bits of inspiration from his layout I feel like that’s what I want to give my vote to.</p>

Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award: falling_star

Comments: falling_star returned to the GDS board late in the year and immediately started two incredible diaries with TCW and a C-Verse Lucha Underground. He has become very active and supportive of other efforts as well, and just from post one to post forty in his own threads, there has been VAST improvements made.

Best Diary Not To Win DOTM Of The Year Award (Must have been active in 2020 but never won DOTM):

  • Nomination One: All Japan Pro Wrestling (1983): The King's Road to Glory by Rogue
Comments: Rogue wasn't consistent enough with his posts to garner enough votes for a DOTM at any point this year, but nevertheless I get excited whenever I see a new post in the thread because it is AWESOME.

  • Nomination Two: The Puppets Dance (CVerse '20 - 5SSW) by White Dolphin
Comments: White Dolphin did an excellent job with 5SSW shortly after TEW2020 was released. They didn't get nearly enough credit for his effort, only due to taking on such an underrated gem of the CVerse. They deserve all the praise for this run.

  • Nomination Three: IMPACT Wrestling: Hard to Kill by Texasrangers13
Comments: Let's be honest, everyone hates IMPACT. That's the only reason this didn't get the traction it deserved.

New Diary Writer Of The Year Award (Never written a diary before 2020): Willsky

Comments: According to his post history his first diary started in April 2020. He has put together some awesome diaries here, my favorite being Prestige Wrestling League.

Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award: CPBHBK

Comments: CPB always gave INCREDIBLE feedback in his reviews of others' diaries. He would go into detail about the little nuances of each storyline and why something did or did not make sense. He was also not afraid to tell you when something is bad, which I, and many others, truly truly appreciate so we aren't being told "great job" over and over!

Most Shocking Heel/Face Turn Of The Year Award: Edd Stone in TCW: Gathering Storm by DevilB0y

Comments: The formation of the Heritage brought about a heel turn for the Stoner, as he turned on his partner Aaron Andrews in the Battleground main event. It was a hell of a moment that brought about the best faction of any diary in 2020!

Worker Of The Year Award: Zippy Deverell in No Ordinary Men by Historian

Comments: The way Historian turned Zippy into another indie nobody into a captivating character was marvelous. Bringing in his father's history in the coal mine, interweaving it into his character while still remaining a heel, all of it.

Best Face Character Of The Year Award: TAKA Michinoku in ECW: Hardcore Revolution by Bigelow_Cartwheel

Comments: TAKA was such a fun character in this albeit short diary. He was a great signing who put on the match of the night no matter who else was on the card.

Best Heel Character Of The Year Award: Zippy Deverell in No Ordinary Men by Historian

Comments: I've told Historian countless times to GIVE ZIPPY THE WORLD! Historian somehow managed to make Zippy the most sympathetic character in his diary, yet still make him the most hated as well. Zippy's run has been a masterpiece of storytelling, and I believe it is his best character since Riley McManus in The Climb.

Best Tag Team Of The Year Award:

Comments:

Best Stable/Faction Of The Year Award: Heritage in TCW: Gathering Storm by DevilB0y

Comments: The second generation stars of Greg Gauge, Edd Stone and Jay Chord teaming up was a shock, and potentially my favorite moment of any diary this year.

Best Champion/Reign Of The Year Award: Conner Threepwood in No Ordinary Men by Historian

Comments: The first champion of a new company, Conner held the strap for a full year. He was the epitome of a babyface champion, even when he wasn't the strongest in-ring. His reign was made even sweeter when he unfortunately passed away.

Best Angle Of The Year Award: The debut of Heritage in TCW: Gathering Storm by DevilB0y

Comments: When Gauge/Stone/Chord surrounded the ring at TCW Battleground, Aaron Andrews and Wolf Hawkins were forced to stand back to back in a failed attempt to defend themselves against the new Heritage faction. The visual of those two standing together after a match as the other three are on the apron ready to pounce was a work of art.

  • Nomination One: Austin Gunn in All Elite Wrestling: Are You #AllElite? by Dalton
  • Comments: Had to nominate myself here! I was very proud of the storyline I had with Billy & Austin Gunn that lasted for the entirety of the diary (July to December in-game!). Austin Gunn joining the Dark Order, Billy's quest to save his son by going through the Dark Order one-by-one, only to lose to Mr. Brodie at Full Gear, but then Austin saves his father and turns babyface again!

  • Nomination Two: Charlie Corner in NYCW: The Tri-State Hustle by arwink
  • Comments: The YouTuber gimmick is amazing. I consider this eligible because Charlie Corner is basically a nobody. and he turned him into a humorous and exciting character.

Honored for the nomination, Dalton. I might do a big post in the thread showing where the booking was headed (I had plans all the way through New Year Giant Series 1984 and ideas for the whole of 84) had I continued it. Shame I couldn't get the data transferred to the new game. Didn't want to keep booking/posting in the 2020 forum for a game that was going to continue beyond Summer Action Series in TEW 2016. :|

Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award: Dalton

Comments: From his first dynasty in the year to his work now, you can see consistent improvement in almost every aspect of his writing and presentation.

Best Diary Not To Win DOTM Of The Year Award (Must have been active in 2020 but never won DOTM): Sco_xY2Jx’s MAW: The Sam Keith Saga

Comments: This is one of the few dynasties I’ve gone back and read from my inactive time, after his HGC effort had begun and hooked me into his writing. I only know it hadn’t won DOTM because others nominated it here.

New Diary Writer Of The Year Award (Never written a diary before 2020): Dalton

Comments: Couldn’t believe he just started this year when I found out, as my first exposure to him was his awesome AEW dynasty.

Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award: Togg

Comments: Curating DOTM/DOTY is no small task, and it’s awesome that you do it for everyone.

Outstanding Contribution Of The Year Award Nominee Two: Togg

Comments: He will kick me for nominating him, but I don't care. He's Welsh, they don't scare me none. Togg has consistently provided the GDS boards with a stabilizing factor. He's been a part of many RW mods. He's made graphics for lots of writers (me included). He runs the DOTM and DOTY and HOF and consistently updates them to make them a big part of the experience.

Stabilizing Factor? Me? Well if you insist on telling White Lies... I was also the Anonymous Raw GM all along! :p. Thanks for nominating me against my will :D, after specifically saying not to nominate me for Outstanding Contribution this year :p.

ANYWAY...

Announcement...
