Every active faction in the promotion has been given a chance to nominate their member for the qualifiers and the names are in.

Dos Phoenix vs Disco Boys

The first semi-final was pretty chaotic in nature with both Shoda and Hanarii of Disco Boys and Edo Phoenix IV setting pace with awesome aerial offense, but Japanese Phoenix came in to slow it down and used his experience to isolate Hanarii and work on his legs to take away his weapon. It paid off as Hanarii tried going for his Kai Krusher (scissors kick) off the ropes but could not get the power behind it.

A missed Phoenix Splash off the top rope from Japanese Phoenix gave the opening to Disco Boys and they soon capitalized on it when Shoda submitted him with his Around the World Armbar.

Disco Boys proceeds to the final.

X-2 Tag League Semi-Final

Massive Thunder vs Legion

The second semi-final pitted two teams which have started teaming together again in recent times and this was to be the match of the tournament. Sugimura took the early edge with his power game but Kawagishi and Hirose kept clawing away at any opportunity that presented itself and a miscommunication between Kijimuta and Sugimura saw Kijimuta eating the Spinning Wheel Kick from his partner when Hirose ducked and then he delivered a dropkick of his own to send Sugimura on the turnbuckles. Kawagishi came in after a hot tag and cleaned house before picking up Kijimuta for the Diamond Dust and the win.

Massive Thunder proceeds to final.

All Asia Title Qualifier

Musashi vs Ant-Man

The first qualifier for the All-Asia title pitted Kingdom against Musashi. Considering that the last All Asia champion, Yakuta had come from Kingdom, Ant-Man had a lot of pressure to deliver and he came up against a determined Musashi who was still reeling from the betrayal of his tag partner. And soon enough, Japanese Phoenix came in to get the necessary distraction for Ant-Man to hit his Antidote and subject Musashi to yet another loss.

All Asia Title Qualifier

Frankie Perez vs Danjuro Kikuchi

This looked a mismatch in paper as the well-known veteran and the star of Carnage Crew, Frankie Perez was up against the young stud of Order of the Dragon, Danjuro Kikuchi. But Kikuchi had been nominated to this spot by his faction bearing something in mind and he was keen to repay that faith and he took Perez by surprise with his submission game and quick transition between locks. But Perez had all the experience in the world to absorb everything and dishing even more.

But the turning point would come when the Carnage Crew members, Reynolds and Nakao would interfere one too many times and this would infuriate Perez who told them that he wants to win this on his own. That served as a distraction as Kikuchi broke up a flurry of punches before trapping Perez with a Step Over Leg Bar and despite best of Perez efforts, he had to tap out giving a big upset win to Kikuchi.

Hyotaru vs Burning Exile

The third and final qualifier pitted one half of H-X, Hyotaru against the legend of EXODUS, Burning Exile. Hyotaru was a former tag team champion but he had not done much in terms of singles career and he was willing to change that, preying on the lack of stamina later on in the match for Exile as Hyotaru Driver III was enough for the Lion’s Den member to keep his hopes alive.

Hyotaru proceeds to All-Asia title match.

Massive Thunder vs Disco Boys

These two teams had already wrestled a match and so they were tired which led to a very slow pace at the start but once the feeling out process ended, both teams changed gears and we got moves after moves from both teams.

But in the end, it was Kawagishi and Hirose who had the last laugh as Kai Krusher attempt was countered by Kawagishi who hit a basement dropkick before hitting his Diamond Dust to become the inaugural champion.

Massive Thunder wins the X-2 Tag League.

Edo Phoenix IV vs Isamu Kijimuta vs Motty Kuroda vs Jotaro Tanaka

We were back with our scramble match although this was a one-off and not another edition of Exploder League as one member of the four teams that finished strongest in the X-2 Tag League faced off to determine the next challengers for the tag team titles. It was Edo Phoenix IV who put in the performance of the night as he hit both Tanaka and Kuroda with Blaze of Glory’12 to get 2 pins negating the single pin that Kijimuta got over Tanaka.

Edo Phoenix IV wins the match when he got 2 pinfalls.

EXODUS World Jr. Heavyweight Six-Man Title

Street Sharks had been the inaugural champs of the Six Man titles and they have held it for over 4 months now but today they were perhaps facing their biggest challenge. Frankie Perez was coming off a shock defeat in the All-Asia title qualifier to Kikuchi and he was raring to have a go at some gold.

In a dominating performance, Perez carried his team on his own unleashing a violent bundle of offense and finished the match when he submitted Kimiyama with a P-Clutch.

Danjuro Kikuchi vs Ant-Man vs Hyotaru

Hyotaru had been a tag champion before but he was looking for a singles career and this was a great chance to start on a winning note but on his path was the Canadian and the first winner of Exploder League, Ant-Man and the breakout star of the last couple of months, Danjuro Kikuchi. Kikuchi had the biggest momentum coming into this match having got a big upset win over Frankie Perez and he rode that with another career defining moment as he made Ant Man tap to his Step-Over Leg Bar.

Monks were a little rusty coming into this match as Yoshitaka had been injured and Tsuchie had not seen any action as the champs were left out of the X-2 Tag League and they paid the price as the Tag League winners Massive Thunder showed why they had won and employed some great technical wrestling and power moves to hurt their opponent, especially working on Yoshitaka’s injured leg and it paid off in the end as Yoshitaka faded off to a Mountain Sleeper to give us our 3rd new champion of the night.

EXODUS World Jr. Heavyweight Title 30 Min. Ironman Match

This was supposed to be a dream match. The champ Yanagimoto against the “Tap-out Artist” Billy Russell in an Ironman match and we got a hot start with both trying to hit their finishers early.

But soon it was evident that they had poor chemistry with each other, and the match did not reach the height that it was supposed to. Billy Russell got the 1st fall when he hit his Ground and Pound Flurry to knock out Yanagimoto. But the tables turned when Russell in his overconfidence started taunting his opponent and Yanagimoto got a second wind as he dished out his revenge, knocking back Russell with every ounce of his body and then delivered a top rope Mikado Bomb to get the pin in the dying minutes before the timer went out.

The match went into a draw with one fall each. Tsuneyo Yanagimoto makes defense #3 of the EXODUS World Jr. Heavyweight title.

The second Battle Lines event was a major landscape changing event creating a buzz in the Japanese wrestling scene.

Three championships changed hands on the night as Danjuro Kikuchi started the night becoming the new All Asia champion riding the big wave of momentum that he got after pulling off a big upset win over Frankie Perez.

Speaking of Perez, he put the disappointment of that shock loss behind as he helped his group Carnage Crew to become the new six man champions cutting short the reign of Street Sharks.

And the third title to change hands was the tag team titles as the X-2 Tag League winner Massive Thunder went on to become the new tag champs as they capitalized on the grogginess of Yoshitaka who was coming back from injury after a month.

Order of the Dragon finished the night on a high as they now hold two titles in the company.

This brings us to our final tournament of the year but the biggest of them all, the EXODUS Grand Prix where 10 stars go at it to win the GP and get a shot at the biggest prize, the EXODUS World Jr. Heavyweight at our season finale, All Out War.

After a month long action packed Grand Prix league, we are now set for the finals.

Group A saw perennial favorites, Perez and Yanagimoto failing to break the deadlock at the top and finished with 7 points each to top their group. While in Group B, Tsuchie became the only man to finish with 100% win record and so for the first time in history, we will be getting a triple threat for the Grand Prix trophy between the three best wrestlers on the roster.

Musashi finished with 4 points in their block but he had two landmark victories against the two legends of wrestling, Burning Exile and Chess Maniac. This has given him a shot at All Asia title in the first ever ladder match of the year.

Burning Exile challenged Massive Thunder for their tag titles after he pinned Shimpei Hirose in their block. But with already an established tag team, Kimiyama & Kogo in their ranks, Exile instead went with Shibasawa, the youngster of Street Sharks as his partner.

Also, since Perez is fighting in the main event, Carnage Crew has activated the Freebird Rule and Billy Russell is now the part of the champion trio with Rob Reynolds and Quick Kick Nakao who will be defending their six man titles against Kingdom who have had some hard hitting battles against Carnage Crew in the tour.

All the matches that Art of War had been winning in the tour gave them steam as they trumped three other teams who are considered the best of the division and came out on top. Hotta and Tanaka's tag chemistry gets better with every passing day.

Our best main event of the year as the three hottest stars of the promotion went to battle. Everyone got to shine and it made for a very graphic viewing. All of the bodies were covered with bruises and were blood red from all the offenses. They almost killed each other. In the end, it was Tsuchie who kicked out of Mikado Bomb, broke out of a P-Clutch and then superkicked Yanagimoto as he fell hard on the floor beneath before he picked Perez up, carried him on his shoulders and from the top turnbuckle, delivered a Super Orange Flash to win the war and the trophy for the second time in 3 years.
