Mai-Li Kato vs Tommy Clay

Seeking some form of payback for Tommy Clay's interference in her first round match against Sam Bailey, Mai-Li Kato was a raging fire from the moment the bell rung. To his credit, Tommy held on for periods until he fell to the Easter Sunrise to give Mai-Li a measure of revenge.

Mai-Li Kato defeated Tommy Clay in 7:57 by pinfall with an Easter Surprise.

Rating: 43

Mai-Li (46), Tommy (32)

Following on from Mai-Li's win, Richard Drake led out his client Kelsey Gold. Explaining that Friday's result was a rare blip on what will be an industry changing career, Richard demanded that whoever chose poorly by accepting the open challenge show their face...

....Only to be met by the now American flag wearing Derek Grace!

Derek Grace vs Kelsey Gold w/Richard Drake

Seemingly shaken by the calibre of opponent accepting the challenge, Kelsey and Richard spent the first thirty seconds of the match conferring between themselves whilst Derek looked on amusingly before offering a handshake once Kelsey was out of her corner - Kelsey responding by kicking his hand away instead. An all out match occurred after but the experienced high flier won out in the end, putting Kelsey away with the Judgement Day for a barely there three count.

Derek Grace defeated Kelsey Gold in 8:52 by pinfall with a Judgement Day.

Beauregarde Jones vs "Stallion" Stanley DiAngelo

Trash talking on his way down to the ring, Beauregarde Jones looked to be enjoying himself despite yesterday's loss. Stanley himself had an axe to grind following his unexpected early exit from the championship tournament. Trying to ambush his opponent for the evening, Stanley was instead swatted away like a fly before enduring three minutes of torture - torture that only ended when Beauregarde put Stanley down for the three with a Bayou Buster.

Beauregarde Jones defeated Stanley DiAngelo in 3:11 by pinfall with a Bayou Buster.

Rating: 25

Beau (31), Stanley (39)

BCAEXUa.jpg

Walking out to the ring just as Beauregarde had finished gloating some more over his trail of destruction, Ryan Doherty kept it short and sweet before the early intermission. Confirming that Tony Chi was ruled out of the rest of the tournament on account of his broken arm, Ryan did also confirm that Tony would be in line for a title shot as soon as he is back regardless of who is crowned as the Leader of the Rebellion tonight!

<div style="font-weight:normal;border-top:2px solid rgba(2, 73, 48 1);"></div><div style="font-weight:normal;border-top:2px solid rgba(2, 73, 48, 1);"></div>

Eddy Orion vs Jake Boone

The first match back from the intermission pitted the ruthless Eddy Orion against Jake Boone. A far better competitor than Stanley DiAngelo, Jake survived the initial flurry of offence and created enough space to avoid an early Nebula Driver from Eddy. Fighting his way into the match, the end came from almost out of nowhere with a surprise Boonedock keeping Eddy down for the pinfall to his utter dismay!

Jake Boone defeated Eddy Orion in 11:54 by pinfall with a Boonedock. Rating: 42

Diego Monterrey vs Sam Bailey

Marching to the ring with the same intensity as Friday, Sam Bailey looked set to hurt Diego Monterrey. Annoying the veteran grappler with his speed and general charming demeanour, Diego at times could be heard taunting Sam about his failure in the cult classic Become A Star competition. Like a red rag to a bull, the taunting sent Sam off his game and after a Monterrey Wind Rush, Diego walked through to the next round whilst Sam was left screaming in the ring.

Diego Monterrey defeated Sam Bailey in 7:23 by pinfall with a Monterrey Wind Rush.

Rating: 38

Erin Ortega vs Kosmo Supreme

A battle of two wrestlers with something to prove - Erin shaking off the somewhat unwarranted comedy wrestler label garnered due to her work in AMAZON, Kosmo staking a claim for a more permanent base after travelling across the world - and the match didn't disappoint. Taking it easy against Erin at first, Kosmo was soon forced to take the match more seriously after being flung around the ring by Erin and her various suplexes. Fighting his way back into the match, Kosmo would be the one with his hand raised at the end of the match after weathering the storm and forcing Erin to stay down for the three count after Entering The Kosmos

Kosmo Supreme defeated Erin Ortega in 12:57 by pinfall with an Entering The Kosmos.

Rating: 50

Cíclope vs Jake Boone

Showing some signs of wear going into the match, Jake Boone contrasted starkly against his far more fresher opponent Cíclope - not that Cíclope was really giving much emotion away in his body language approaching the match. An aerial focused contest, Cíclope was in control for the majority of the match but his downfall came by being too focused on synching in the Cíclope Clutch. Rolling out of the clutch, a Boonedock was all it took for Jake Boone to be the unlikely victor in the match and the first half of the finals of the tournaments!

Jake Boone defeated Cíclope in 12:22 by pinfall with a Boonedock.

Rating: 46

Jake (37), Cíclope (49)

Diego Monterrey vs Kosmo Supreme

It seemed almost academic that it would come down to the two friends and on/off tag team partners for the right to be the other half of the tournament finals. Showing respect for each other, the Airborne comrades had a slow start to the match with counters upon counters taking place - Diego eventually forcing Kosmo to the outside before teasing a huge dive only to bounce off the ropes and pose to the crowd with a flash of anger showing on Kosmo's face at the showboating. Back in the ring, the two continued to be a very even fit until a roll up from Kosmo with some added leverage saw the match end just over the seven minute mark. Seemingly brushing off Diego's concerns about the ending to the match heading into a second brief intermission, Kosmo hugged Diego instead and raised his arm for the Minnesota audience.

Kosmo Supreme defeated Diego Monterrey in 7:22 by pinfall with a surprise roll up.

Rating: 47

Kosmo (53), Diego (37)

PWR Leader of the Rebellion Tournament Final

Jake Boone vs Kosmo Supreme

Expected to be a match of two crowd favourites, Kosmo's antics in the last match swayed the crowd more towards Jake Boone which seemed to set Kosmo off a little. Still maintaining a friendly demeanour, Jake and Kosmo shook hands before setting off on the finals to the tournament. Much like Kosmo's match with Diego, both Jake and Kosmo struggled to get the advantage in the match until Referee Mark Rydale was accidentally struck by Jake Boone. Signalling to the back, it seemed Kosmo had banked on this as Maddox charged out to the ring with a steel pipe in hand.

RPItryAs.jpg

Striking Jake Boone in the back of the head whilst Kosmo stood by before disappearing again, Maddox had done more than enough to swing the match in Kosmo's favour - Kosmo now revelling in the negative attention from the crowd. An almost entirely pointless Entering The Kosmos sealed the victory to crown Kosmo Supreme as the first Leader of the Rebellion.

Kosmo Supreme defeated Jake Boone in 14:13 by pinfall with an Entering The Kosmos. During the match we also had Maddox run in and attack Jake Boone. Kosmo Supreme wins the Leader of The Rebellion title.

Rating: 47

Kosmo (51), Jake (41)

oLuxi08.jpgL7Alq4s.jpgRPItryA.jpg

Returning to the ring following the final bell, Maddox continued putting the boots to the fallen Jake Boone whilst Kosmo held the Leader of the Rebellion title high and loudly bragged about his masterplan coming together.

Final Show Rating: 47

<div style="font-weight:normal;border-top:2px solid rgba(2, 73, 48 1);"></div><div style="font-weight:normal;border-top:2px solid rgba(2, 73, 48, 1);"></div>

Prediction Results (Everyone gets 1 point for Cíclope vs Tony Chi regardless if they picked the correct winner, Tony was always out of the match but wanted to write it as a wait and see type deal for the tournament)

Tiberious - 7/10

kanegan - 4/10

jhd1 - 5/10

falling_star - 3/10

The song linked has no real bearing, I just like The Menzingers

BCAEXUa.jpg

Settling down in his Minnesota apartment, Ryan Doherty thought on his first two shows as a wrestling promoter. The tagline of the promotion wasn't original or clever but it got enough people in the door. Enough to start building the buzz anyway.

The majority of the shows went positively. Derek was...well...gracious enough to not kick up a fuss about his early exit from the tournament and went out of his way to help make Kelsey look good. A shame him and Diego couldn't commit to more than the first two dates but they both left the door open for future dates.

Stanley DiAngelo was a different proposal to them. Recommended to him as a reliable body who would put people over, he was anything but. Kicking up a fuss about doing the quick job to make Eddy Orion seem a dangerous threat, the match against big Beau was a little bit of revenge before he was told that he wasn't being booked beyond show two.

Speaking of big Beau, Tony's broken arm was unfortunate in their match but thankfully there was no ill will held between the two. With the name Tony passed over thought there was room to keep building Beau up and keep him fresh for the rematch with Tony when he returns.

Thinking to the future with positive thoughts, Ryan hit send on the post announcing the next card;
