TRADEMARKS LINKED TO NEW WRESTLING COMPANY

THURSDAY WEEK 1, SEPTEMBER 2020

AbezYLX.jpg

QUINCY GARVEY

Something may be afoot in the American pro wrestling scene.

WrestleMetrics has learned that a series of trademarks were filed with the US Patent & Trademark Office over the last week by an entity named MAJOR LEAGUE WRESTLING, LLC. Known filings include:

• Major League Wrestling/MLW

• MLW Firestorm

• MLW All In

• MLW Grand Slam

It appears as though the latter three trademarks relate to wrestling events, although it is unclear what type of events those are exactly.

So what does this mean? Well, since June of this year, rumors have been swirling regarding a potential new promotion coming to the United States, and the project has been linked to Snappshot founder Quincy Garvey, a billionaire who often tweets about his love for all things professional wrestling. Garvey has had a longstanding professional rivalry with AWF founder Ezekiel Trillion, although the two are personal friends. Garvey and Trillion regularly exchange in friendly banter on Twitter, with Trillion's wrestling fandom resides in the glitz and glamour of companies like WWW and AWF, while Garvey's love lies within the junior styles of DRAGON and DIASPORA.

Some cryptic tweets from Quincy Garvey telling us to "stay tuned," along with photos being taken of him in Detroit, MI with Nick Bell and in Leeds, England with Scott Nicholls, have been causing tons of speculation online.

The WrestleMetrics team will keep you updated with any further update to this story.

MAJOR NAMES LINKED TO MAJOR LEAGUE WRESTLING

SATURDAY WEEK 4, SEPTEMBER 2020

NICK BELL | SCOTT NICHOLLS | JESS BELL | KAI BELL

THE DYNASTY

The speculation surrounding the trademarks for an alleged new promotion named Major League Wrestling is only getting hotter.

The Dynasty, the group of close friends and family working for companies across the globe, have been dropping major hints on social media. First, Nick Bell and Scott Nicholls, two Englishmen who are lifelong best friends, posted photos from Miami Beach, with Snappshot founder Quincy Garvey hanging out in the background. Garvey has been rumored to be the financial backer of Major League Wrestling. Not long after those photos were posted, Jess Bell posted a photo on Snappshot of a sign at the Miami Airport, signalling that she was joining her brother and his best friend in the Orange State. Adding to the rumors, Kai Bell, known in the ring as Kosmo Supreme, tweeted that his world tour would be coming to a close, and that he would no longer be taking bookings. The last member of the Dynasty, James Gilmour, has not commented or hinted at anything, most likely due to being locked down to National Championship Wrestling, where he reigns as the NCW World's Heavyweight Champion and has been positioned as the clear number one in the company.

As always, WrestleMetrics is working to get more info on this developing story.

FRIDAY WEEK 1, NOVEMBER 2020

CLAY CLINTON

LEAD ANNOUNCER

SCOTT NICHOLLS | NICK BELL | JESS BELL | KAI BELL

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENTS

The long-rumored wrestling company was officially unveiled today during a press conference in the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach. The founder and CEO was confirmed to be Quincy Garvey, Snappshot billionaire and long-time wrestling superfan.

The press conference was announced with a four-hour notice, giving only local hardcore fans who have been following the story enough heads up to get down to the Ritz Carlton. Clay Clinton, the voice of the WWW, was the first to the podium and officially announced that Major League Wrestling was here, and would be a major player in the American wrestling scene. Clinton introduced Quincy Garvey, calling him the founder and "brains behind the whole idea."

Garvey thanked the fans for coming and gave a de facto mission statement for MLW: the promotion will not aim to be an "alternative" or "just an option," they want to be THE wrestling company in the United States! Garvey stated that he was not alone in the formation of the company, and his Executive Vice Presidents are just as much to thank. He revealed his three EVPs to be Nick Bell, Scott Nicholls and Jess Bell.

The three of them each took turns to speak, with Scott Nicholls, talking about the secret meetings with Garvey over the course of six months that ultimately led to the formation of MLW. Nick Bell spoke on the huge talent pool available across the USA and the rest of the world, and how they want MLW to be a haven for the best wrestlers on the planet. Jess Bell spoke on the importance of equality and stated that MLW would have a women's division that they intend to grow into the best on the planet. She announced that MLW would have a working relationship with AWW Ultra, the largest women's wrestling company in the western hemisphere. Nicholls also came back to the podium to mention the same would go for the Great British Wrestling Federation.

In terms of what talent to expect, Nick Bell stated that he and Kai have been leading the talent acquisition team, and they are not limiting themselves to the United States, or North America even. Their goal is to bring the best wrestlers together into Major League Wrestling to put on the best shows possible. Over the course of the next few months, talent announcements will be made to inform the public who has signed with the new company. Kai said that there are a few major, unexpected names on that list, and to stay tuned because you never know who may show up.

The biggest news came towards the end of the press conference, when Garvey announced that Major League Wrestling had made a major signing that he was proud to announce right then and there. Out came Jean-Claude Giroux, the French megastar and five-time AWF World Champion. He was accompanied by his protege, Eddy Lemaitre. Giroux returned to Paris in July 2018 to take over Next Evolution Wrestling, which he had transformed into one of the largest promotions in Western Europe. After a few minutes of calling himself "Le Champion" and some heel crowd work, Giroux talked about coming back to the States thanks to a big money offer from Quincy Garvey. He said part of the deal was bringing Eddy Lemaitre with him because, as Giroux stated, "After the time on top is done for moi, vous are the next le champion of Major League Wrestling."

To close, Scott Nicholls announced the date of the first Major League Wrestling event: MLW All In, Saturday Week 4, January 2021. The main event would be announced at the next press conference, the last Saturday of November! He thanked the fans for coming, and noted that the wrestling world has just been turned upside down!

Really excited for this, there's such a wealth of talent available to hire at the start of the game now, and particularly guys that suit Garvey's vision thanks in part to DRAGON's downfall. Excited to see how it develops. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

MAJOR LEAGUE WRESTLING ANNOUNCES FIRST BATCH OF SIGNINGS

FRIDAY WEEK 3, NOVEMBER 2020

Major League Wrestling's first signings post-formation have been made. The names come from across the world, from unknowns to indy darlings:

e3wwgOd.jpg

Diego Monterrey

Diego Monterrey is a second-generation Mexican wrestler from La Antigua. The son of Prodigio and young brother to Prodigio II, the small Monterrey has taken on Prodigio's speedy technical style and prefers to keep it on the mat wherever possible. He has been a tag team partner of Kai Bell (Kosmo Supreme) for years, but recently went to Mexico to work full-time. Now back in the United States, Kai Bell announced his signing on Twitter and said they would be teaming again in Major League Wrestling.

pAYIxNU.jpg

Seven Brandt

Seven Brandt was often considered one of the best wrestlers on the independent scene before he signed with GILL in 2019. Signing a short term deal with the promotion, he was able to make an impact in Mexico which in turn heightened his status once again in the United States. Deciding not to renew with GILL, Seven Brandt has signed with Major League Wrestling and, according to Scott Nicholls, be one of their major players going forward.

Nha8Sq5.jpg

Mattias Taylor

On any "future superstars" list found online, Mattias Taylor is top three. The 22 year old has signed with Major League Wrestling and will look to be one of their biggest breakout stars without a doubt. Taking many mannerisms from Guy Lothario, the legend's influence is heavily seen within Taylor in a good way. Taylor announced the signing himself on Twitter, proclaiming himself to be the second coming of Lothario and noted that he will be aiming to be the company's first champion.

CMl9shH.jpg

Markus Kage

"The Bamma Beast" Markus Kage is an American former pro football defensive end. Weighing in at close to 300 pounds of muscle, Kage was trained for in-ring competition by Gus Hogg. Another hot prospect on the indie scene, Kage's signing with MLW is a sign that he will be a household name sooner rather than later.

27KizB8.jpg

Cassidy Gilmour

A close friend of The Dynasty, Cassidy Gilmour is another hot prospect on the indie scene that has been signed by Major League Wrestling. She is James Gilmour's cousin, and a very close friend and trainee of Jess Bell, Gilmour's ex-wife and current friend. Cassidy Gilmour worked for Pro Wrestling HONOUR before their closing and is a current star for All Japan Joshi. Major League Wrestling is a perfect fit for Cassidy, and she is primed to be a major player for them, pun intended.

MNqGsaP.jpg

Sumie Kajitani

A self-trained wrestler, Sumie Kajitani is an Asian-American athlete from Cleveland. Still very green, Kajitani has plenty of star presence that should carry her through the opening gates of Major League Wrestling. In five years, it will be a huge surprise if she hasn’t been a champion in the company. Kajitani is also very outspoken for transgender rights, being one of the few transgender professional wrestlers working today. With MLW's commitment to equality and inclusion, Kajitani will be a spokesperson for them in addition to her in-ring duties.

Working for DRAGON Michinoku's company until its closure in 2016, the duo toured the independent scene for the next four years before being signed by Art of Wrestling as full-time competitors. In addition to that, Trent Brooke is also a regular in Las Vegas for the Guerrilla Wrestling Syndicate, where his 21st Century Caveman gimmick is super over with the crowd. Their signing to Major League Wrestling signals big things for the sisters. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';">

His time in Guerrilla Wrestling Syndicate in late 2018 through mid-2019 improved his wrestling skills while allowing him to work on his character in front of a hardcore wrestling crowd. Rhodes is another worker who Quincy Garvey would often talk about on Twitter. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';">

Talisman cannot quite be described without seeing him. Dawning an amazing mask, Talisman debuted with DIASPORA ten years ago. He worked there for about four years before being sent to DRAGON on excursion, not to gain more experience in-ring, but to temper his bulging ego. He stuck with DRAGON until their closure before returning to Japan, but not finding his way back on the DIASPORA roster. Feeling shunned, he signed with SPLASH! and is their reigning SPLASH! Global Champion. Now returning to the States for the first time since 2016, Talisman's success weighs just as much on controlling his ego as showcasing his wrestling skills.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';">

"The Stonebreaker" Magnus Steinsson is an Olympic silver medalist in the 2016 Olympic Games. Representing his native Iceland, Steinsson's skills on the mat allowed him to become a hero in his homeland. Deciding to switch to professional wrestling after the Games, he debuted in Japan with International Wrestling Japan the same year. He looked to be the next big gaijin for the promotion after Iceman Gaines, but the company unfortunately folded in 2018. Not out of work for long, he returned to Europe and joined the Freestyle Wrestling Coalition, where his amateur background allowed him to quickly become a top star for them. Now signed with MLW as well, he will most likely be featured as the "shooter" of the promotion.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';">

Ambassador's Club is another talented team finding their way to Major League Wrestling. The two have traveled the world together, working for every workrate promotion from DRAGON to United Promotions Japan. The two mutually split in 2018 as Paul Crowley wanted to return home to England, while Ebi Kadivar wanted to continue his journey in the United States. Crowley would find full-time work for the Great British Wrestling Federation, being a consistently featured worker under the booking of Scott Nicholls, while Kadivar signed with the Awesome Wrestling Federation. Growing sick of AWF's tumultuous environment, as he joined the company in the midst of the Johnny Valleau takeover, Kadivar's per-show contract allowed him to leave the AWF and sign with MLW, being the company's first "coup" from a major American company.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';">

After growing frustrated with being unable to break out in AJJ, she left Japan in 2012 for a self-imposed excursion to North America, wrestling all over the continent as her fame quickly grew. She became a major player for AWW beginning in 2014, and now splits her time between AWW Ultra and AJJ as a top star for both, including being the reigning AWW Ultra Champion. Signing with MLW in addition to her other duties, Joshuyo will undoubtedly be a focal point of the women's division.</span></p><p> </p><p>

FINAL WAVE OF MAJOR LEAGUE WRESTLING SIGNINGS ANNOUNCED

FRIDAY WEEK 2, DECEMBER 2020

The final, allegedly, set of Major League Wrestling signings has been announced on MLW's official Twitter account. There are some big names here, with some notable independent stars from the USA and Canada.

Also announced was the press conference for MLW's debut event, All In. Taking place in one week, the press conference will see the card for the debut show be revealed. There has been plenty of speculation and fantasy booking regarding the card, MLW Owner Quincy Garvey stated that no one knows what the card is except for himself and the EVPs, the Dynasty.

[yP9hEKD.jpgaOVPA5Y.jpgXACWOvE.jpg

Jason Anderson | Mason Anderson | Nathan Anderson

The Anderson Sons

The Anderson Sons from Canada are some of the best from the North. Nathan and Mason are twins with Jason being the younger sibling. "Wild" Nathan has made a name for himself internationally, working for both his "home" promotion of Great North Revival (and its predecessor, Great North Wrestling) and Great British Wrestling Federation. Mason and Jason have been teaming as the Manitoba Wrecking Crew for quite some time, even winning the GNR Tag Team titles on three occasions!

CfWcV2O.jpg

Adrienne

One of MLW's biggest signings yet, Adrienne was an Awesome Wrestling Federation stand-out, first working with Jean-Claude Giroux and then with Wilson Hancock. She left AWF a couple years ago after failing to impress AWF management in the ring, however her time with Wild Card Championship Wrestling has seen her vastly improve, leading to her getting #CalledUp to MLW. Mentioned by MLW Owner Quincy Garvey as a cornerstone of the women's division, expect to see a lot of Adrienne in MLW.

C7At4r0.jpg

Shay Kinsella

Shay Kinsella holds the honor of being the first ever PWI World Champion. A legitimate legend of this century, Kinsella is often referred to as "your favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler." Strting with UPJ in the late 1990s, Kinsella returned to the United States following the birth of his daughter in 2001. When Pro Wrestling Integrity formed in 2002, he was the first man contacted by Shane Allman. He retired in 2005, only making sporadic appearances from then, but returned in 2012 with Championship Wrestling from Tennessee. He decided to go freelance in 2014 and has been one of the most sought after independent talents in the world. Major League Wrestling will be proud to house such a great talent.

6HimHBC.jpg1VWAS3R.jpg

Ricky Binks | Zach Martin

24/7 Express

The Australian tag team of Ricky Binks and Zach Martin are one of the top teams in the world. Their time in GWS and LWA opened them up to working across the entire world, making a killing working major shows in Europe, Africa, Australia and South America. They would be signed in PWI in 2010, working there until 2013 and again exploring the indie scene. They returned to Boston in 2015 and stayed until 2019, deciding to go home to Australia and work for Wrestling STATEMENT, the new company based out of Brisbane. Now signed with Major League Wrestling, their contracts will allow them to continue working for STATEMENT, where they are the top stars and reigning STATEMENT Tag Team Champions.

Np3Qx8x.jpg

Bryce Christensen

The longtime standout in AWF has made his way to Major League Wrestling. A one-time AWF United States Champion and three-time AWF World Tag Team Champion, Bryce Christensen has been on a tear in the indie scene for the last eight months, making appearances at random promotions and making their talent look like a million bucks. He is now set for a career renaissance with Major League Wrestling
