2016, the year of the great Tsunami. It wiped everything out, the land of the Rising Sun was reduced to rubble and the wrestling industry..... hit hardest.

Companies struggled in the wake of the disaster and many had closed down.

The big three of BHOTWG , PGHW and GCG were struggling to turn it's finances but then came an even bigger blow as the ex-president of PGHW, Kaneie Komine staged his revenge and the greatest coup of puroresu.

spacer.png

The crash of the wrestling industry gave him his way back as he bought the rights to the defunct promotion, INSPIRE and added an extra S to it, calling it INSPIRE strikes back or INSPIRES and then unveiled the aces of PGHW, BHOTWG, GCG, BCG and WEXXV on the same stage.

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png
Koiso - Kikkawa - Gakusha - Funakoshi - Konoe

The first main event of the new promotion created lot of buzz as it was one of the dream matches of the century,

The four way between Koiso, Kikkawa, Gakusha and Funakoshi, each representing the four main promotions that they were once a part of put butt in the seats and ensured a red hot momentum for INSPIRES.

Koiso won the match when he hit the Top Rope Koiso Cutter on Funakoshi This event was also marred with controversies as both Funakoshi and Kikkawa got serious injuries.

spacer.png

Koiso denounced his PRIDE name, instead calling himself INSPIRE Koiso and then proceeded to re-introduce his new stable which sent the crowd in raptures,

All former mainstays of the previous incarnation, they were back and thus,

INSPIRE FIGHT CLUB was born!!!!

The unfortunate injury in the main event of the first ever Wrestle Summit under new management meant Kikkawa had to stay on sidelines for 1 full year while watching INSPIRE Koiso going from strength to strength and establishing himself as the company's ace.

On the night of Clash of the Titans 2017, the second big event in INSPIRE calendar, once Koiso had earned a pretty hard-fought defense against Tasuku Iesada, Kikkawa walks out to an enormous pop which brought the roof down. He enters the ring, and with INSPIRE Koiso extending his hand which everybody expected Kikkawa to take and join INSPIRE Fight Club considering the history he had with the previous version. Instead, he looks at the crowd and then decapitates Koiso's head with a huge lariat. Iesada's face goes from shock to that of a sinister smile as they raise hands together and they were further joined by the greatest tag team that BHOTWG had ever produced, Chuichi Sanda and Eiji Hamacho as they brought new T-shirts.

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

Tadiyuki Kikkawa - Tasuku Iesada -Eiji Hamacho-Chuichi Sanda- Fukusubaru Inao

The Burning had made their mark!!!!

Very soon, they started tasting success as Sanda and Hamacho won the All Asia Tag Team Titles ending the 8 month-long reign of Samoan Destruction Inc and the boys from BHOTWG came in the limelight.

Good luck on this bro! I did a shoot style save for myself and had a blast!

Thanks bro. INSPIRE in this alternate reality version has every interesting premise and it sets up nicely for a big gang war in puroresu. Though this INSPIRE is not restricted to shoot style fight anymore.

I'll be keeping an eye out on this one, though I'll need some getting used to the names first :p

When it comes to the CV, I'm mostly familiar with the Big 3 and AAA. But this looks really nice and easy to read, so I'll venture into the world of puro with you!

Good luck!

PGHW stars were distraught after losing their leader INSPIRE Koiso who was firmly established now as the promotion's ace.

spacer.pngspacer.png
Torajiro Sekozawa - Alexander Robinson

The two long-term members and tag specialists of PGHW were part of the initial roster in the restart and they found themselves floundering in midcard obscurity after Koiso had left them.

But that all changed when Sekozawa got himself a title shot against Koiso in the 2017 Wrestle Fest and despite his best efforts, he could not topple the champion and once the spotlight was firmly on Koiso, his INSPIRE Fight Club team-mates surrounded the ring but to the amusement of many, we got a wry smile across the face of Sekozawa and Robinson and then we got the unthinkable,

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png
Kawashima - Ugaki - Kwakami

The Golden Trio of PGHW was here in INSPIRE and they were face to face with Koiso. The hate clearly visible, they ran INSPIRE Fight Club out of the ring before hugging Sekozawa and Robinson.

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

The Pride Warriors were here to stay!!!!

They have been in the main event ever since and are biding their time for the ultimate face-off with the person they hate the most.

Glad to have you on board mate.

There's gonna be some avengers endgame level of puroresu shit in this one :p going to follow!

Thanks man. This will be a Game of Thrones style battle for supremacy. :D

Hiroyashu Gakusha - Toshiro Hyobanshi - Jimmy Cox

Gakusha and Hyobanshi, the golden boys of GCG enjoyed a dominating period when they debuted in INSPIRE along with Jimmy Cox.

They became the first and so far the only holders of the World Heavyweight Tag Team titles when they defeated Samoan Destruction. While they extended an offer to the Samoans to join them in their faction, considering the Samoans themselves were 5 times GCG World Tag Team Champions, it was met with a violent response as they got laid out and Rhino Umaga and Samoan Machine left the ring.

But to everyone's surprise and perhaps to Gakusha, Hyboanshi and Cox themselves, out comes BCG (Black Canvas Grappling) ace Funakoshi flanked by Yorie Ippitsusai and Sojuro Sen.

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png
Funakoshi - Yorie Ippitsusai - Sojuro Sen

BCG had been lifelong and staunch rivals of GCG and in fact it was Funakoshi who had staged the walkout of GCG to kickstart the BCG movement and now they were face to face with the poster boys of the other promotion.

The crowd expected a full-on brawl but they absolutely did not expect all three of them to extend their hands at the GCG trio. After pausing for a moment, Gakusa, Hyobanshi and Cox finally reciprocate, and then they raise hands together giving INSPIRE a meme-worthy which would be trended and shared in social media even months after the moment.

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

The Forbidden Alliance had just served notice!!!

spacer.pngspacer.png
Rhino Umaga - Samoan Machine

While Samoan Destruction refuted the offer of Gakusha to join with them, they had plans of their own which they would speak of throughout the next tour and finally on the night of Massacre in October, they introduced their own family, the former SWF Tag Team Champions, Samoan Pit Bulls.

Taheji Konoe - Munemitsu Senmatsu - Zeshin Makioka

For the WEXXV folk, a day in wrestling means getting butchered and maimed by colleagues for a few bucks of pay and a cold beer. Then, you develop a fan following, become a cult favorite and all of a sudden, everyone is talking.

That's what happened when Konoe, Senmatsu and Makioka, three of the brightest stars to come from the hardcore promotion WEXXV and all former champions themselves caught a massive fan following becoming cult favorites which prompted INSPIRES to take notice and sign all three. They have been on an upward swing since then with Konoe taking his first step to superstardom when he defeated Mohammed El Yaggoudi to win the All-Asia title.

With championship belt around your waist comes certain privileges and soon enough Konoe was allowed to form his own faction.

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png
Ieshige Nishio - Takeshi Yamanaka - Koichi Kajiwara - Washi Heat

Apart from the duo of Makioka and Senmatsu, Konoe added a lot of personnel.

Ieshige Nishio and Takeshi Yamanaka, the former Chaos Demons, who had now ditched their masks and were going by their original names,

The longest reigning and the most successful King of the Death Matches champ, Koiji Kajiwara.

And the well-traveled veteran who wrestled for BHOTWG, PGHW and WEXXV, Washi Heat.

The Xtreme Corps were taking over!!!

Arjen Van Den Leyne - Claudio Burdisso - Punisher Paul Hughes - Razor Valentine

With most of the ex-INSPIRE folk returning to the promotion and joining the INSPIRE Fight Club, it swelled up in size and even Koiso could not keep everybody happy and all the foreign talent started complaining about not getting important matches or title shots with only Li Bingci and Oleg Doroskolov managing the same due to their closeness to Koiso and the second-in-command Hitomaro Suzuki.

Arjen Van Den Leyne and Claudio were pretty vocal about the same but with the lack of a leader who can give a platform to their voice, they were just another voice in the crowd. Things had to change and change fast.

So, what do you do?? You bring over the biggest crossover star and convince him to return to the wrestling business that he left years ago.

spacer.png

Buddy Garner, one of the original crossover stars who had a successful career in both MMA and wrestling, having been a PGHW mainstay for 8 years over two different stints had retired from wrestling after the birth of his daughter, content with running his successful training school.

But when you are a man with high convincing abilities and deep pockets, you don't let go of this opportunity and Kaneie Komine was just that as he convinced Garner to return to the business and sign with Inspire in a move which was seen as a landmark deal.

He debuted in a packed Toyota Stadium when Inspire Fight Club was having an in-fighting of sorts at Demolition and confronted Koiso before most of the gaijin talents in INSPIRE Fight Club sided with Garner.

Buddy Garner promised greater heights and positions for everyone joining him than they were in the INSPIRE Fight Club

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

Global Fight Empire were aiming for the top!!!!

But in recent times, we have seen an erosion in the ranks as

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png
Wael Hossam - Mohd El Yagoudi - Kalu Owusu

Hossam, Yagoudi and Owusu had been slowly branching away from the Global Fight Empire due to clash in the ideologies with the rest of the members and have been tagging together in matches, calling themselves Titans

So far, Global Fight Empire has been a distant second in their battle with INSPIRE Fight Club but time will tell about the endgame.

The last posts finally bring an end to all the backstories and insights into all the different factions that are in the company right now.

I will start posting the shows soon. The format will be pretty simple. I will post recap of the tour shows without individually posting them, highlighting the important matches and the feuds or build-offs that happened. Only the big PPV's will get full write-ups along with images.

The next show will be Wrestle Summit VI, the biggest event in INSPIRE calendar and the season finale of sorts.

This is the Cverse Alt 2018 mod which is fantastic and is worth checking out. Currently we are sitting at #1 in Japan with Medium size with WLW, BHOTWG, PGHW and GCG all breathing on our necks and all of medium size. The aim will be to consolidate our position and keep pushing for global growth.

ROAD TO SUMMIT TOUR RECAP

The tour started with INSPIRE Koiso cutting an in-ring promo about how today is the 1 year anniversary of he being the champion and nobody has been able to take the title from him and he is sure next year also he will stand in the ring celebrating 2 years as champion. Tadiyuki Kikkawa comes down and warns him to stop being complacent before they engaged in a wild brawl.

Burning and INSPIRE Fight Club clashed throughout the tour with Li Bingci and Oleg Doroskolov earning themselves a shot at the All Asia Tag Team Championships when Oleg Doroskolov defeated Eiji Hamacho.

INSPIRE Fight Club (INSPIRE Koiso, Oleg Doroskolov, and Li Bingci) defeated The Burning (Tadiyuki Kikkawa, Eiji Hamacho, and Chuichi Sanda) in 21:29 when Oleg Doroskolov submitted Eiji Hamacho with a Cross Armlock. 73

Buddy Garner had been with the company for the last 4 months but he was 7 years away from wrestling and he had built off a lot of ring rust which needed time shaking off but he was slowly getting into the groove, one match at a time. In January his lust for titles led him to get a shot at the INSPIRE Strong Style Championship currently held by Jimmy Cox after Buddy defeated both the previous contenders of the title, Alexander Robinson and Torajiro Sekozawa.

Buddy Garner defeated Alexander Robinson in 16:28 when he submitted Robinson with a Garner Choke Sleeper. 54

Buddy Garner defeated Torajiro Sekozawa in 15:40 when he submitted Sekozawa with a Garner Tendon Hold. 53

Xtreme Corps, Forbidden Alliance, and the Tribe notched up the inter-faction battle up a level when they engaged in multi-man matches between them throughout the tour and we also got title matches finalized for Wrestle Summit when Rhino Umaga pinned Hyobanshi while the Forbidden Alliance turned their fortunes when Funakoshi pinned Makioka and then immediately challenged Taheiji Konoe for his All Asia title.

Rhino Umaga though got injured during another match which has now sidelined him for over a year and the Samoan Pitbulls team of Akima Brave and Tama has agreed to step up in the title match against Gakusha and Hyobanshi.

The Tribe (Rhino Umaga, Samoan Machine, and Tama So\'oialo) defeated Forbidden Alliance (Hiroyasu Gakusha, Toshiharu Hyobanshi, and Sojuro Sen) in 17:01 when Rhino Umaga pinned Toshiharu Hyobanshi with a Rhino Charge. 72

Forbidden Alliance (Jimmy Cox, Sojuro Sen, and Funakoshi) defeated Xtreme Corps (Munemitsu Senmatsu, Zeshin Makioka, and Taheiji Konoe) in 19:35 when Funakoshi pinned Zeshin Makioka with a Butterfly Backbreaker. 61

Sotatsu Sorumura was an unhappy man. The holder of the Leader of the Pride only had defenses with the veterans of the industry which meant he was not getting exciting matches. He attacked the INSPIRE Knockouts Champion, Gesshin Noro, and then went to management to propose a title unification match which was agreed.

Hitomaro Suzuki also won himself a Middleweight title shot against Kuemon Hotta after his impressive performances throughout the tour.

Attendance: 50,000 @ Toyota Stadium (SOLD OUT!!!!!!)

Match 1: Global Fight Empire vs INSPIRE Fight Club

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

Arjen Van Den Layne/Claudio Burdisso vs SS Yoemon/QK Nakao

The first major PPV for both the teams as we got a decent opener and Global Fight Empire got the first blood in as Van Den Leyne submitted  Nakao with an ankle lock.

Grade: 52

Match 2: Title Unification Match: Leader of the Pride vs Knockout

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

Sotatsu Sarumura vs Gesshin Noro

Sarumura had promised in the tour that he would bring a new age to the promotion and the early minutes of the match looked like he has bit off more than he had chew as the huge mass of Noro completely manhandled Sarumura but he kept his nose up and when opportunity presented itself, he submitted the big man with a Mounted Arm Lock.

Winner: Sotatsu Sarumura (becomes double champion)

Grade: 58

Post match, he grabbed the mic and proclaimed that he has delivered on his promise and a new era will start today as he is retiring both the titles and unveiling a new one.

The ring assistant took away the two belts and presented a new belt,

INSPIRE Pure Championship!!!!!!

which will be contested under a new set of rules which we will get to know soon.

Match 3: INSPIRE Middleweight Championship

Kuemon Hotta.jpgspacer.pngspacer.png

Kuemon Hotta (c) vs Hitomaro Suzuki

The deputy leader of INSPIRE Fight Club, Suzuki had to step up the game because his faction had drawn nil so far in the night. With all expectations now centering around him, he rose to the occassion as he systematically dismantled Hotta with various submission manuevers and a arm wrench on the top rope was the highlight which drained Hotta out. The Suzuki Lock (Cattle Mutilation) followed and finally INSPIRE FC had something to cheer about. The match was very poor though as Hotta was completely off the game.

Winner: Hitomaro Suzuki (new champion!!!!)

Grade: 38

Match 4: INSPIRE All Asia Tag Team Championship

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

Eiji Hamacho/Chuichi Sanda (c) vs Li Bingci/Oleg Doroskolov

More good news for INSPIRE Fight Club and a huge upset as the team of Bingci and Doroskolov who was riding a huge wave of momentum finally stopped the 8 month long reign of The Burning's premier team as they combined to hit some innovative offense. The highlight of course was provided by Bingci who hit 8 successive Germans to Sanda before he passed away to Oleg's Judo Chole Hold.

Winner: Li Bingci/Oleg Doroskolov (new champion!!!!)

Grade: 66

Match 5: INSPIRE Strong Style Championship

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

Jimmy Cox (c) vs Buddy Garner

After his stablemates had given them a win in the first match of the show, it was upto the leader Buddy Garner to get them some gold and he did not disappoint. Keeping Cox at bay, he was able to control the proceedings and countered the Cox Line with his Garner Tendon Hold hyper extending Cox limbs and he had no choice but to tap. We had got new champs in every match as Garner becomes the fourth new person to win a title tonight.

Winner: Buddy Garner (new champion!!!!)

Grade: 59

Match 6: INSPIRE World Heavyweight Tag Team Championship

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png Hiroyashu Gakusha/Toshiro Hyobanshi(c) vs Samoan Pitbulls

Pitbulls were subbing for their brothers as Samoan Machine was out injured for a year. They were hoping to create history as the first ever Samoan born champions in INSPIRE but Gakusha and Hyobanshi had been champions for almost a year and they were not going to drop the titles so easily. Pitbulls used all their power and high flying moves but the champs were not to be deterred as they kept up with their opponents and Gakusha Golden Bomb was dropped on Akima Brave for the win.

Winner: Gakusha/Hyobanshi (defense #5)

Grade: 77

Semi-Main : INSPIRE All Asia Championship

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

Taheji Kanoe (c) vs Funakoshi

The match six months in the making. Konoe was the person who dethroned Funakoshi ending his epic reign and since then Funakoshi has been waiting to get another chance. This was a hard hitting brawl with both men using their bare fists to pummel each other. A running lariat from Funakoshi dropped the champ but could not keep him out for long and he started his usual ultra stiff shots but Konoe took it to outside where he was more comfortable and threw Funakoshi on the guardrail before dropping him on the bare floor with an overhead suplex. With Funakoshi's bones being crushed with that fall, Konoe went for the kill and hit the Savage Cradle DDT to overcome his fiercest competitor yet.

Winner: Taheji Konoe (defense #3)

Grade: 78

Main Event : INSPIRE World Heavyweight Championship

spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

INSPIRE Koiso (c) vs Tadiyuki Kikkawa

The two men started off slow. This was a dream match up for many and so both of them took time, not giving any chance of an opening to other. Kikkawa's heavy hands hurt Koiso's head as he bore the brunt of his open hand chops and punches but manage to counter into a ten punch of his own before a headlock and a swinging neckbreaker brought him some respite.

With a stalemate, both Koiso and Kikkawa notched up their intensity as punches seemed even more powerful, slams looked even more devastating and a backdrop driver to Kikkawa almost brought him a three count but Burning's leader kicked up at the last moment.

Kikkawa went for his Kikkawa Lariat but Koiso blocked it, hit a knee strike before hoisting him up on his shoulders, Koiso Cutter!!!! He pins the challenger.

Th

Winner: INSPIRE Koiso (defense #12)

Show Ending Segment

Quote

As Koiso was celebrating his win and playing to the crowd, from out of nowhere three figures came in and started attacking the champ.

Further  close-up reveals that it is

 spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

the golden trio of Pride Warriors, Kawashima, Ugaki and Kwakami. They put on the hits but the cavalry came in rescuing their leader.

From the ramp, Kawashima takes the lead and firstly praises Koiso for his title defense but then says his real work starts now as he has avoided the Pride Warriors throughout his tenure but not anymore. In the upcoming D-Road Tour, he will face one of the three in every big event for the next three months and so his time is coming to an end.
