ESCALERA DE ORO II

Sunday, Week 3, October 2021. GCU Arena, Phoenix, AZ. Attendance: 5476

Alfonso Garcia.jpgMac Smith.jpgimage.jpeg

Alfonso Garcia: Welcome to Lucha America Productions! Welcome to Arizona, welcome to Escalera De Oro II!

Mac Smith: We have a new attendance record in LAP!

Cueball Lynch: It's the first time LAP comes to Arizona and there are more than 5000 fans here in Phoenix, unbelievable guys.

Alfonso Garcia: And we have the card to make history tonight. Lilly & Rose defend the LAP Women's Parejas titles against Tex-Mex. LAP People's champion Chess Maniac vs Mustang Blanco Jr. The Women's 6-Way Escalera De Oro Ladder Match. Panther & The Foxx defending the LAP Parejas titles vs The Lords Of Xtreme. LAP Women's champion Raven Nightfall vs Electric Dreamer. And in the Main Event, the Escalera De Oro 6-Way Ladder Match where the winner will main event the season finale event Lucha Fest II!

Cueball Lynch: This is what a stacked card is like.

Alfonso Garcia: And in the opening match, LAP Lucha champion Samael The Executioner makes his third title defence vs Sunburst!

Mac Smith: The Executioner has been so solid in his first two defences against El Toro De Oro Jr and Amazing Fire Fly that it's difficult to think in an upset tonight.

Cueball Lynch: But Sunburst is having an incredible year. He became the LAP People's champion and held the title for more than 6 months. Sunburst is 10-2-0 in 1vs1 matches in 2021. Maybe Samael has made a mistake attacking Sunburst and I can't hide that I will be more than happy if that is the case.

LAP LUCHA CHAMPIONSHIP

Raven Nightfall_alt1 copia.jpgw/ image.jpegvst copia.pngSunburst.jpg

SAMAEL THE EXECUTIONER (w/ Raven Nightfall) (c) vs SUNBURST

Fantastic match to work the crowd. "Sunburst, Sunburst!" chants to start the match and the challenger raising his hands to encourage the crowd created an electric atmosphere in Phoenix. Sunburst copied Remmy Skye and Amazing Fire Fly's strategy against The Executioner, he didn't stop moving and he tried quick strikes when possible. Sunburst hit a fantastic Sunsault and pinned Samael but he kicked out at 1. Later Sunburst connected a Shooting Sun Star Press and pinned Samael but he kicked out at 1 again. Samael laughed but Sunburst still had an ace up his sleeve and hit Samael with the Sun-Spot. 1... 2... NO! Samael doesn't laugh anymore and Sunburst tries to grab the champion in frustration but it was clearly a mistake. Sunburst takes chop after chop from the champion and then The Executioner hits him with a Chokeslam, but Sunburst kicks out at 2. Raven makes the signal and Samael hits Sunburst with The Execution. 1... 2... 3!

Samael The Executioner def. Sunburst via pinfall (Rating: 70, Time: 15')

Mac Smith: Oh man, what a Title Match to start the show!

lapbanner.png

Alfonso Garcia: In the next match,  LAP Women's Parejas champions Lilly & Rose make their second defence against Tex-Mex.

Mac Smith: 3-time LAP Women's Parejas champions Lilly & Rose have been the most dominant women's tag team in LAP history. Lilly & Rose are 4-2-0 in 2vs2 matches in 2021. Tex-Mex haven't been as active as the past year in the women's parejas division because Teresa Perez has been more interested in her singles career, but they won a triple threat title shot match to earn this opportunity.

Kate Lilly.jpgDebbie Rose.jpgvst copia.pngHouston Handley.jpgTeresa Perez.jpg

LILLY & ROSE (KATE LILLY & DEBBIE ROSE) (c) vs TEX-MEX (HOUSTON HANDLEY & TERESA PEREZ)

They stole the show. Teresa Perez had a strong performance in this match carrying her team but Lilly & Rose effectively took turns as a well oiled machine and finally took over this match. Lilly & Rose hit Houston Handley with The Thorn and Debbie Rose pinned her to win the match.

Lilly & Rose def. Tex-Mex via pinfall (Rating: 60, Time: 10')

lapbanner.png

Alfonso Garcia: In our next match, LAP People's champion Chess Maniac makes his first defence vs Mustang Blanco Jr!

Cueball Lynch: Mustang Blanco Jr is making his first appearance since Segunda Generación broke up and it's a tremendous opportunity for him because his got a lot to win and very little to lose. I think he will show us what he is made of in this match.

Mac Smith: I'm not as positive as you are, Cueball. Segunda Generación never won the LAP Parejas titles and Mustang could feel that pressure tonight, he might be aiming too high too fast. Chess Maniac is 13-2-0 in singles competition in 2021.

LAP PEOPLE'S CHAMPIONSHIP

Chess Maniac.jpgvst copia.pngMustang Blanco.jpg

CHESS MANIAC (c) vs MUSTANG BLANCO JR

A long match that was all about storytelling where Mustang Blanco Jr wanted to demonstrate his ability as a singles wrestler against an established villain like Chess Maniac. Both wrestlers are even until the 5 minute mark, when Mustang hit the People's champion with a perfectly executed canadian destroyer and then he went for his finisher the Acceleration. However the champion kicked out at 2. Chess Maniac used arm drags to change the complexity of the match and slowly dismantled the challenger. The champion hit Mustang with a flying knee drop but Mustang kicked out at 2. Then Chess Maniac tried to submit Mustang with the Checkmate until he had no option but to tap out.

Chess Maniac def. Mustang Blanco Jr via submission (Rating: 62, Time: 21')

Mac Smith: Mustang was a good opponent but the People's champion is in great form.

lapbanner.png

Alfonso Garcia: Time for the first ever Women's 6-Way Escalera De Oro Ladder Match, where Alina America, Danielle Sweetheart, Electric Dreamer Miss American Pie, Queen Amazon and Simony Sentinel will fight for a title shot at the LAP Women's championship.

Mac Smith: It's incredible how the women's division is becoming more and more important in LAP. This year we saw the first Women's Gran Batalla De América that Raven Nightfall won and this is going to be another milestone for the women's division. We have 6 great wrestlers here and anyone of them would be a legitimate contender.

Cueball Lynch: It's very difficult to say who's going to win this match. Electric Dreamer is going to face LAP Women's champion Raven Nightfall again tonight but she doesn't want to lose the opportunity to make history in the first ever Women's Escalera De Oro. Will this be an historic night for the former LAP Women's champion?

Miss American Pie.jpgvst copia.pngQueen Amazon.jpgvst copia.pngimage.jpeg

ALINA AMERICA vs DANIELLE SWEETHEART vs ELECTRIC DREAMER vs

vs MISS AMERICAN PIE vs QUEEN AMAZON vs SIMONY SENTINEL

They stole the show from start to finish. Alina America and Queen Amazon dominated the first minutes cleaning the ring, then Alina tried to push Queen Amazon out of the ring but she was too powerful and it was Alina who ended up outside the ring. Queen Amazon began to climb the ladder but she was very slow and soon Danielle Sweerheart and Electric Dreamer grabbed her feet and Amazon felt to the mat. Dreamer applied her Electric Chair on Amazon and then Sweetheart connected the Super Kick, leaving Amazon knocked out. Simony Sentinel and Miss American Pie joined then in ring, Dreamer paired with Sentinel and Sweetheart with Miss American Pie and the four began to brawl. Alina was recovered and quickly aligned with her tag team partner Electric Dreamer to take out Sentinel, while Miss American Pie got rid of Sweetheart with the July 4th Jam. Queen Amazon was back to action and she quickly sent Miss American Pie out of the ring with a military press before facing Dreamer and Alina. Las Eléctricas cornered Amazon but she eventually turned things around and sent both of them out of the ring with a double clothesline. Queen Amazon was climbing the ladder again but when she turned her face to see if someone was chasing her she saw Miss American Pie pushing the ladder and she had a fatal landing. Miss American Pie is alone in the center of the ring and the crowd is going crazy. Miss American Pie takes the ladder and climbs to the top to win the match!

Miss American Pie wins Women's Escalera De Oro via retrieval finish (Rating: 62, Time 10')

Alfonso Garcia: Miss American Pie wins the first ever Women's Escalera De Oro and earns a title shot at the LAP Women's title!

lapbanner.png

Alfonso Garcia: Time a title match, LAP Parejas champions Panther & The Foxx make their first defence vs The Lords Of Xtreme!

Cueball Lynch: The Lords Of Xtreme criticized The Foxx for leaving his former tag team partner Snap Dragon to join a 'Big 3' company years ago, but The Foxx replied that Masked Cougar is still stuck in that place.

Mac Smith: You're right, Cueball. This rivalry is getting hotter and they are four great performers. This has all the ingredients to be a good match.

LAP PAREJAS CHAMPIONSHIP

PANTHER & THE FOXX (PANTERA FENOMENAL & FLYING JIMMY FOXX) (c) vs THE LORDS OF XTREME (MASKED COUGAR & SNAP DRAGON)

There was a big animosity between these tag teams and it wasn't a surprise that it ended in a car crash. The Foxx and Masked Cougar finally got their hands on each other to begin and it was a fantastic spectacle as we saw Cougar going for a tope con hilo and then The Foxx walking on the third rope for a dive to land on Cougar outside the ring. The crowd went nuts when Pantera Fenomenal got tagged in and delivered his Tumbleweed Legdrop on Snap Dragon, but Cougar saved his partner. Later The Foxx faced his former partner Snap Dragon, who was clearly enjoying the chance to get his hands on him. Dragon tried to submit The Foxx with an arm bar but Pantera was there to help his partner. When Cougar got tagged was dominating The Foxx and went for the High Rise Cougar Pounce, but The Foxx put his feet and quickly pinned him. 1... 2... 3! The Foxx was the smartest in this match and Panther & The Foxx retains.

Panther & The Foxx def. The Lords Of Xtreme via pinfall (Rating: 68, Time: 15')

lapbanner.png

Alfonso Garcia: In the next match, LAP Women's champion Raven Nightfall makes her second title defence against Electric Dreamer.

Mac Smith: This is the third time they meet recently. Raven striped Dreamer off the belt in the first one and then she successfully defended the title in the first ever women's match in Puerto Rico.

Cueball Lynch: It's been a great feud so far and I still believe in Dreamer. Come on Dreamer, this is your time to beat Raven!

LAP WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

image.jpegvst copia.pngElectric Dreamer.jpg

RAVEN NIGHTFALL (c) vs ELECTRIC DREAMER

They stole the show with this short match. Dreamer put everything she had in the first couple of minutes delivering a brilliant double kick, a meteora and finally the Electric Chair, but the champion kicked out at 2. The crowd chanted "Dreamer, Dreamer!" as they felt the time for a new champion had come, but then Raven took over and didn't look back. Raven hit Dreamer with a DDT and then repeatedly hit her hands and legs with stomps while she was booed loudly. Raven submitted a too tired Dreamer to fight the Night Crawler.

Raven Nightfall def. Electric Dreamer via submission (Rating: 68, Time: 6')

lapbanner.png

Alfonso Garcia: Time for the Main Event, time for the 6-Way Escalera De Oro Ladder Match! Amazing Fire Fly, Axxis Jr, Frankie Perez, Jagged, Hijo Del Relampago and Remmy Skye fight for a title shot at the LAP Lucha title and the right to main event the season finale event Lucha Fest II.

Mac Smith: This is the elite of the elite in LAP. Any of these wrestlers is ready to main event Lucha Fest II, so it comes to who's having a good day, who's in best form, who's lucky tonight. However, Jagged has a slight advantage in my opinion because he won last year, he knows what it takes to win Escalera De Oro.

Cueball Lynch: Remmy Skye is a former LAP Lucha champion, he knows what it is to main event Lucha Fest and has only lost to the current LAP Lucha champion Samael The Executioner. I'm sure he wants a rematch in the best possible scenario. Also Frankie Perez after losing the LAP Parejas titles is someone who is motivated to demonstrate his true caliber as a singles act. Supercopa De La Lucha II winner Axxis Jr is having an incredible 2021. The we have Amazing Fire Fly who has been in the LAP Lucha scene recently and is also a ladder specialist and don't forget about "El Asesino De Leyendas" Hijo Del Relampago who ended Ultimate Phoenix's career in LAP or defeated Eléctrico in his last match.

AMAZING FIRE FLY vs AXXIS JR vs JAGGED vs

vs FRANKIE PEREZ vs HIJO DEL RELAMPAGO vs REMMY SKYE

aThis match was a spot fest full of dangerous aerial moves. Amazing Fire Fly impacts the match early on showing his fantastic aerial moves arsenal connecting a shooting star press on Frankie Perez and the Sky High Fire Fly on Relampago. Meanwhile Remmy Skye, Jagged and Axxis are having their own triple threat, where Axxis delivers the Gravity Axxisault on both opponents to clear competition. Frankie Perez, Amazing Fire Fly and Axxis Jr are on the ring. Amazing Fire Fly tries to climb the ladder but Frankie pushes the ladder and he is caught in a bad landing outside the ring. Axxis and Frankie are face to face and Frankie hits his opponent with an elbow blow and then tries to grab him, but Axxis reverses his move and hits him with a rebound clothesline before hitting the Double Axxe Handle. Now Axxis has a clear path to the ladder and the crowd is chanting his name.

Frederique_alt1.jpgimage.jpeg

Frederique Antonio Garcia and his manager, and also Jagged's manager, Grace Harper, come out running down the ramp to ruin Axxis' chances. Frederique steps in the ring and fights Axxis until he hits him with the Romeo Is Bleeding, leaving Axxis lying on the ground, while Grace has helped Jagged and now he is back on the ring and starts to climb the ladder. Soon Remmy Skye is there to stop him, but Jagged doesn't win and jumps from the mid of the ladder for a missile dropkick. "Remmy, Remmy!" chants and he recovers almost immediately to hit Jagged with a flying kick that sends him outside the ring. Remmy starts to climb the ladder and nobody seems to be able to stop him.

Marc Speed.jpg

Suddenly Marc Speed jumps the barricade and enters the ring. Remmy doesn't know about it and thinks he is about to win when Marc Speed pushes the ladder and Remmy has an awful landing. Not happy with ruining Remmy's win, Speed knocks him out with the Deadly Heel Hook. Frankie Perez is back on the ring, he looks to his old rival Remmy Skye lying on the ground and smirks before he starts to climb the ladder. But Axxis Jr makes his way back too and quickly grabs Frankie's leg, leaving him no option but to go down and fight Axxis. The two brawl while the crowd chants "Axxis, Axxis!" and the babyface hits a clothesline and climbs to the mid section of the ladder. Frankie is standing up when he discovers that Axxis is ready for a Gravity Axxisault from the ladder! A great spot. Relampago, Remmy and Jagged get back to the ring at the same time but it's too late and Axxis retrieves the golden item.

Axxis Jr wins Escalera De Oro via retrieval finish (Rating: 74, Time: 15')

Alfonso Garcia: Axxis Jr wins Escalera De Oro and he will main event season finale event Lucha Fest II.

Mac Smith: What an unbelievable ending to this unforgettable event, Alfonso. One of the best matches in LAP history.

Alfonso Garcia: Thank you for watching us tonight. This was Lucha, this was Lucha America Productions!

Wow you're killing it with the ratings lately! Opener and main event carried the show!

I wonder if this "contenders do the same strategy against Samael" is something purely related to obvious size differentials, or if it gonna lead to a more muscular opponent who will come straight at Samael and surprise him. Maybe Axxis?

@Wrestling Machine these are Samael (muscular heavyweight) last opponents current sizes: Remmy Skye (toned lightweight), El Toro De Oro Jr (flabby middleweight), Amazing Fire Fly (small), Sunburst (toned lightweight). El Toro was the only one that tried to do something else and yes it was because of size differentials. Axxis Jr (muscular lightweight) is still far away from Samael, but it's true that he is more muscular. When I emphasize about same strategy I'm suggesting that maybe they'll need something else or a different strategy to dethrone him, but you never know!

I thought it was an opportunity to have the best possible contenders match in the Women's Escalera De Oro and at the same time 'justify' a little bit Dreamer's third straight loss against Raven Nightfall. Probably it made too easy to predict Raven's win but I preferred to add more uncertainty to the Ladder Match and there was that unthinkable small possibility of winning both matches the same night and make history. I think Miss American Pie as a big surprise signing and the most popular one was the best pick to face Raven at Lucha Fest II.

You may be right, but they've become 3-time champions and when they are dethroned I want it to be meaningful. The season finale is close and I thought they should hold the titles to that point. We'll see what happens there.

I'm very happy how Escalera De Oro II went down. It tied Amenaza II (72) for the best rating in LAP history. The Main Event (74) tied for the second best match rating. To be honest, I was more confident than ever looking at the 6 wrestlers I had in the Ladder Match and the amazing year each of them has had. I needed a babyface win and in my mind there were only two options: Remmy's rematch against Samael or pull the trigger and make Axxis Jr the winner. I thought Amazing Fire Fly had a title match against Samael recently and it was absolutely great (73), thinking exclusively on the ratings it was a fantastic choice. Remmy's title match against Samael was the best match (79). But I wanted a fresh match and also Axxis is the oldest one here, he had to take this opportunity to main event Lucha Fest.

I didn't want to take away the focus before Escalera De Oro II, but last week LAP This Is Lucha crushed CZCW Coast To Coast. Pablo Rodriguez & Al Coleman def. Waylon Walls & El Jaguar (60) in last Coast To Coast's Main Event, while Frankie Perez def. El Hijo Del Neutron (70) in This Is Lucha. Next episode will close the first month in the Californian Monday Night Wars!

THIS IS LUCHA EPISODE 36

Monday, Week 4, October 2021. Bar Juárez, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Attendance: 116

Official theme song

Axxis Jr.jpg

Escalera De Oro winner Axxis Jr is in the ring to start the show and the crowd chants "Axxis, Axxis!".

Axxis Jr: What a feeling to be tonight in my dear friend Eléctrico's town Ciudad Juárez! It was one of those unforgettable moments in my career when I retrieved the golden item to win Escalera De Oro. I'm here to face Jagged in the Main Event tonight after Grace Harper, Frederique and him tried to steal my victory at Escalera De Oro. But I know everyone wants to hear what I have to say about the season finale event Lucha Fest II Main Event, when I will face the LAP Lucha champion Samael The Executioner. I have a message for Samael. I'm coming for you!

Rating: 66

Alfonso Garcia.jpgMac Smith.jpgimage.jpeg

Alfonso Garcia: Welcome to Lucha America Productions! Welcome to Mexico, This Is Lucha!

Mac Smith: This is the place where Juárez's legend Eléctrico had his last match in LAP.

Cueball Lynch: And it's amazing how they welcomed Axxis Jr to start the show, he is an absolute legend in Mexico.

Alfonso Garcia: In the opening match, Campeón Jr faces El Orgulloso.

Mac Smith: Campeón Jr debuted in LAP in the Gran Batalla De América II batte royal and then challenged Sunburst for the LAP People's title at Breaking The Wall II. This will be his third appearance in the company.

Cueball Lynch: He is very popular in Mexico. El Orgulloso is 0-3-0 in singles matches in 2021, he's looking for the first victory of the year.

Campeon.jpgvst copia.pngEl Orgulloso_alt.jpg

CAMPEÓN JR vs EL ORGULLOSO

They tried to steal the show but it was a short subpar match. Campeón Jr hit El Orgulloso with the Flying Cross Body.

Campeón Jr def. El Orgulloso via pinfall (Rating: 44, Time: 5')

Alfonso Garcia: In the next match, Rapido vs Scarlet Scarab.

Cueball Lynch: This is the first singles match for Rapido since Amazing Fire Fly and him parted ways. Scarlet Scarab is having a tough 2021, he is 1-8-0 in singles competition this year.

image.jpegvst copia.pngimage.jpeg

RAPIDO vs SCARLET SCARAB

A good match full of dangerous aerial moves. Rapido had a strong start and even went for the Rapido Knee early on the match, but Scarlet Scarab was quick to avoid it and then he took over slowing down Rapido with holds and much more contact. Scarlet Scarab hit Rapido with the O'Hararana but Rapido kicked out at 2. Later Scarlet Scarab grabbed Rapido for the Spinning Arm Breaker and submitted him.

Scarlet Scarab def. Rapido via submission (Rating: 64, Time: 10')

Cut to the backstage where Alina America and Electric Dreamer are talking. Electric Dreamer is sad about losing the LAP Women's title to Raven Nightfall and being unable to recover it in two different occasions.

Alina America: I know it must be painful for you, but listen. This is an opportunity for us, Dreamer. We can bring back Las Eléctricas again!

(Euphoric reaction from the crowd "Yes, yes, yes!")

Alina America: I've been told there will be a Women's Parejas Title Shot Match next week. We can't miss this opportunity, Dreamer.

(Close-up shot of Electric Dreamer thinking about it)

Rating: 70

Alfonso Garcia: In our next match, Mariana Torres vs Purple Viper.

Mac Smith: Purple Viper is 4-3-0 in singles matches in LAP, while Mariana Torres, half of Perez & Torres, has her second singles match in LAP after losing to Simony Sentinel last year.

Poison Ivy.jpgvst copia.pngimage.jpeg

MARIANA TORRES vs PURPLE VIPER

The girls stole the show. Purple Viper was in control during the whole match. Mariana Torres resisted two pin attempts before Purple Viper hit her with the Purple Bite to win the match.

Purple Viper def. Mariana Torres via pintall (Rating: 56, Time: 8')

Alfonso Garcia: It's time for the Main Event, Axxis Jr vs Jagged!

Mac Smith: Axxis Jr had a clear path to win Escalera De Oro when Grace Harper and Frederique Antonio Garcia came out to ruin his victory and to favor Jagged. Axxis finally won the match, but it's not surprising that he wants to face Jagged tonight.

Cueball Lynch: But he should be aware that Grace and Frederique will be there tonight again...

"Les Terres Saintes" plays and Axxis Jr makes his entrance with Ciudad Juárez's crowd singing in unison the characteristic "LALALALALARALA" while a pic of Axxis Jr riding a horse with the Mexican flag is shown on the screen.

AXXIS JR vs JAGGED (w/ Grace Harper and Frederique Antonio Garcia)

This match was all about storytelling with Axxis looking for revenge and the menacing presence of Grace and Frederique at the ringside. Axxis went all out including three rebound clotheslines in a row that delighted the Mexican crowd. Grace distracted Axxis with her usual dirty tricks and Jagged stopped him with his arm drags and leg locks. Jagged tried to submit Axxis with a figure four but the crowd reacted "Axxis, Axxis!" until he got rid of it. Frederique tried to enter the ring but the ref caught him and banned them from the ringside. Jagged was still confident despite losing his friends and soon hit Axxis with the Jagged Edge. 1... 2... NO! Axxis still alive and the Mexican crowd erupts as he's making his comeback! Clothesline, rebound clothesline and now a crossbody! Axxis is on fire now... Gravity Axxisault! 1... 2... 3!

Axxis Jr def. Jagged via pinfall (Rating: 68, Time: 17')

image.jpegimage.jpeg Axxis Jr.jpg

LAP Lucha champion Samael The Executioner and his manager and also LAP Women's champion Raven Nightfall come out and interrupt Axxis' celebration. The #1 contender for the Lucha title Axxis Jr is tired after a demanding match when they step into the ring. The two wrestlers that will main event Lucha Fest II are face to face under Raven's eye.

Samael laughs evilly before he hits him on midsection and then powerbombs him. Suddenly Raven makes a signal and Samael hits Axxis with The Execution. Samael and Raven leave him lying on the floor while the crowd boos loudly.

Rating: 72

Alfonso Garcia: Less than 6 weeks until the season finale event Lucha Fest II and things can't get more interesting. Or can they? We'll see next week! Thank you for watching us tonight. This is Lucha, this is Lucha America Productions!

LAP This Is Lucha once again beat CZCW Coast To Coast to close the first month in the Californian Monday Night Wars beating the rivals by an average of 5 points in the ratings.

Pablo Rodriguez & Al Coleman def. American Flash & Masked Cougar in a Cage Match (70) in the Main Event of CZCW Coast To Coast surpassing Axxis Jr def. Jagged (68) in This Is Lucha's Main Event, but Samael The Executioner attacking Axxis Jr (72) in the last segment and a much better overall performance secured a comfortable victory this week. Masked Cougar, who works for both companies, appeared in CZCW for the first time since the War started as he wasn't booked in any match or segment in the last This Is Lucha episode. Masked Cougar is enjoying a grow in popularity.

THIS IS LUCHA EPISODE 37

Monday, Week 1, November 2021. Earl Wilson Stadium, Las Vegas, NV. Attendance: 1163

Official theme song

image.jpeg

"The Angel Of The Dark" Raven Nightfall is in the center of the ring to open the show and the LAP Women's champion gets booed by Las Vegas' crowd.

Raven Nightfall: Who the hell you did you expect to be here opening the show? Miss American Pie? She won the first ever Women's Escalera De Oro and I will have to face her at the season finale event Lucha Fest II. But I have a suggestion for you, Miss American Pie. Don't do it. Don't take the risk. You'll never defeat me and you will have to put your body in the line against me.

Rating: 62

Alfonso Garcia.jpgMac Smith.jpgimage.jpeg

Alfonso Garcia: Welcome to Lucha America Productions! Welcome to Las Vegas, This Is Lucha!

Mac Smith: Wow, that was an intense message from Raven Nightfall to start the show.

Cueball Lynch: I prefer to keep thinking in the casinos and all the fun here in Las Vegas than talking about Raven Nightfall!

Alfonso Garcia: In the first match, The Lords Of Xtreme vs Los Rubios Canadienses.

Mac Smith: Los Rubios Canadienses are 2-5-0 in 2vs2 matches in LAP and they'll face the last challengers for the LAP Parejas titles The Lords Of Xtreme in this match.

masked cougar alt ok.pngSnap Dragon.jpgvst copia.pngFlash Savage.jpgOzzie Goldstein.jpg

THE LORDS OF XTREME (MASKED COUGAR & SNAP DRAGON) vs LOS RUBIOS CANADIENSES (FLASH SAVAGE & OZZIE GOLDSTEIN)

This was a match about storytelling where two heel tag teams collided and competed on which one was in best form. Snap Dragon had a strong start but Flash Savage tried to surprise him with the Flash Pinfall, but Dragon kicked out at 2. Later Masked Cougar and Ozzie Goldstein were very even until Cougar hit him with the High Rise Cougar Pounce, but Savage was there for his partner. Finally Masked Cougar delivered the High Rise Cougar Pounce again, this time to Ozzie, for a solid win.

The Lords Of Xtreme def. Los Rubios Canadienses via pinfall (Rating: 56, Time: 16')

Remmy Skye.jpg

Remmy Skye takes the ring to talk about Marc Speed's interference in the Escalera De Oro Ladder Match that prevented Remmy from winning.

Remmy Skye: I qualified for Escalera De Oro by defeating Marc Speed fair and square. But he doesn't accept his defeat and he was so mediocre that his only desire was to ruin my chances of facing Samael The Executioner to recover the LAP Lucha title. Marc, if you're here, this is not over!

Marc Speed.jpg

Marc Speed comes out and just looks at Remmy defiantly from the ramp while Remmy gestures for him to come closer.

Rating: 69

Alfonso Garcia: In the next match, Magnifico vs Rapido.

Cueball Lynch: After losing to Scarlet Scarab last week, Rapido has his second since Amazing Fire Fly and him parted ways. Magnifico is 2-5-0 in singles competition in 2021.

image.jpegvst copia.pngimage.jpeg

MAGNIFICO vs RAPIDO

They tried to steal the show in a very short match but they failed miserably. Magnifico hit Rapido with the Magnifico Cradle to finish one of the worst matches of the year.

Magnifico def. Rapido via pinfall (Rating: 31, Time: 5')

Alfonso Garcia: In our next match, Jonnie Perez faces Máscara Roja Jr.

Mac Smith: This is the first 1vs1 match for Jonnie Perez in 2021 and it's also his first match since Perez Xtreme lost the LAP Parejas titles against Panther & The Foxx at Amenaza II. Máscara Roja Jr owns a record of 0-12-0 in singles matches in LAP, he is still looking for his first victory.

Cueball Lynch: Frankie Perez had to carry that match for Perez Xtreme because he didn't trust his brother to do the job and I think it was a bad decision because taking care of both Pantera Fenomenal and Flying Jimmy Foxx was too much for the Kill Switch

image.jpegvst copia.pngimage.jpeg

JONNIE PEREZ vs MÁSCARA ROJA JR

It was a car crash match. Jonnie Perez was looking good early on the match, using some risky spots to spice up the action and a springboard cross body that stood out, but it caught the ref in a bad position and they accidentally hit him.

Frankie Perez_alt1.jpg

Suddenly Jonnie's older brother and tag team partner comes out of the crowd  and uses referee's accident to step into the ring. Jonnie looks confused while Máscara Roja is on guard waiting for the brothers to attack him. But Frankie looks at Jonnie and hits him with a high kick, then he grabs his little brother and hits him again, this time with a stunner. The ref wakes up and Máscara Roja is ready to cover Jonnie. 1, 2, 3!

Máscara Roja Jr def. Jonnie Perez via pintall (Rating: 51, Time: 6')

Mac Smith: Frankie betrayed his own brother and tag team partner! It's unbelievable.

image.jpegjagged_alt copia.jpgFrederique_alt1.jpg

A videomessage is shown where Grace Harper says that This Is Lucha will return soon to Puerto Rico and her clients Jagged & Frederique will be there to defeat The Puerto Rican Boys in the Main Event despite 'home field advantage'.

Rating: 58

Alfonso Garcia: It's time for the Main Event, a 4-Way LAP Women's Parejas Title Shot Tag Team Match between Las Eléctricas, Las Gatas, Perez & Torres and Tex-Mex!

Cueball Lynch: It seems that Alina's speech convinced her tag team partner to participate in this match and we will see Las Eléctricas fighting for a title shot. This is a very open match where anything can happen.

Mac Smith: They aren't fighting just for a title shot, they are going to fight for the opportunity to dethrone 3-time LAP Women's Parejas champions Lilly & Rose at the season finale event Lucha Fest II.

Main Event: LAP Women's Parejas Title Shot Match

Alina America.jpgElectric Dreamer.jpgvst copia.pngHellcat Hernandez.jpgDarkness Cat.jpg

Pinky Perez.jpgPoison Ivy.jpgvst copia.pngHouston Handley.jpgTeresa Perez.jpg

LAS ELÉCTRICAS (ALINA AMERICA & ELECTRIC DREAMER) vs LAS GATAS (HELLCAT HERNANDEZ & DARKNESS CAT) vs PEREZ & TORRES (PINKY PEREZ & MARIANA TORRES) vs TEX-MEX (HOUSTON HANDLEY & TERESA PEREZ)

A match where everyone got involved. Teresa Perez had a strong performance to start the match, but then Hellcat Hernandez cleaned the ring with a few good combinations. Pinky Perez rose to the occasion, and was arguably the best performer in this match, to hit Houston Handley with the Pink Butterfly Powerbomb, but Teresa saved her. Later Electric Dreamer hit Darkness Cat with the Electric Chair, but Hellcat helped her partner. Alina America got tagged in and soon she found an opening to hit Mariana Torres with the Southern Lights Bomb to win the match. Electric Dreamer ran to hug her friend in an emotional moment that delighted Las Vegas' fans.

Las Eléctricas def. Perez & Torres, Las Gatas and Tex-Mex via pinfall (Rating: 64, Time: 10')

Alfonso Garcia: Less than 5 weeks until the season finale event Lucha Fest II where Las Eléctricas will face the LAP Women's champions Lilly & Rose! Thank you for watching us and see you next week. This is Lucha, this is Lucha America Productions!

WrestlingCommunity.com - A fresh look at the wrestling industry

· KILLER SHARK JOINS USPW

Muscular super heavyweight Killer Shark has left TCW to join USPW for a 3-year contract worth $98000 per month. The 31-year-old is widely considered a physical freak.

· D-USW, A SLOW START

Many fans were high on D-USW, the child company created by USPW to copy SWF's strategy with RIPW, however the first three monthly shows have been pretty weak: Summer Night In Florida (49), American Flags Waving (46) and New Horizons (47). Reverie's reported negative to stream D-USW's events or let other platforms do it is a big concern for its growth. D-USW champion Nobuyo Hikichi didn't defend the title in the last event, while Mutant def. Matt Blackburn (50) in the Main Event.

· LAP THIS IS LUCHA BURIED CZCW COAST TO COAST LAST MONDAY

In another chapter of the so called Californian Monday Night Wars, LAP This Is Lucha (64) beat CZCW Coast To Coast (43). Las Eléctricas def. Las Gatas, Perez & Torres and Tex-Mex (64) in a Title Shot Match for the LAP Women's Parejas belt in This Is Lucha's Main Event, while Pablo Rodriguez def. Peter Flair (33) in the Main Event of Coast To Coast. Flair, a Coastal Resort alumni, wasn't ready for a match like this.

THIS IS LUCHA EPISODE 38

Monday, Week 2, November 2021. Brazell Stadium, Phoenix, AZ. Attendance: 1478

Official theme song

Alfonso Garcia.jpgMac Smith.jpgimage.jpeg

Alfonso Garcia: Welcome to Lucha America Productions! Welcome to Phoenix, This Is Lucha!

Mac Smith: It's great to return to Arizona!

Cueball Lynch: Escalera De Oro II took place in Phoenix and what an historic event it was.

Alfonso Garcia: In the first match, The Hammers vs The Lords Of Xtreme!

Mac Smith: The Hammers are 6-4-0 in 2vs2 matches in LAP, while The Lords Of Xtreme are 2-1-0. This is a very interesting matchup.

Joffy Laine.jpgimage.jpegvst copia.pngmasked cougar alt ok.pngSnap Dragon.jpg

THE HAMMERS (JOFFY LAINE & OX MASTADON) vs THE LORDS OF XTREME (MASKED COUGAR & SNAP DRAGON)

Very good match to work the crowd. The Hammers had the support of the Phoenix's fans and were superior in the first minutes. Joffy Laine hit Snap Dragon with The Jackhammer but Masked Cougar was ready to help his partner. Later Snap Dragon tried to submit Ox Mastadon with the Dragon Sleeper but it finished in a rope break. Masked Cougar hit Ox Mastadon with the High Rise Cougar Pounce to win the match.

The Lords Of Xtreme def. The Hammers via pinfall (Rating: 65, Time: 10')

image.jpegjagged_alt copia.jpgFrederique_alt1.jpg

Grace Harper and her clients Jagged & Frederique take the center of the ring and are booed by the fans.

Frederique Antonio Garcia: Shut up you sissies!

Grace Harper: I have an important announcement, one that will change the landscape of LAP. I had a conversation with LAP owner Joaquin Soler and I made him an offer he couldn't refuse. As a result, Jagged & Frederique will face Panther & The Foxx for the LAP Parejas titles at the season finale event Lucha Fest II!

Rating: 57

Cueball Lynch: What?!?!? An offer he could not refuse? What does she mean?

Alfonso Garcia: In the next match, Danielle Sweetheart faces Purple Viper.

Mac Smith: This is the first singles match in LAP for Danielle Sweetheart, who participated in the Gran Batalla De América battle royal and the Escalera De Oro ladder match. Purple Viper is 5-3-0 in 1vs1 matches in LAP.

Danielle Sweetheart.jpgvst copia.pngimage.jpeg

DANIELLE SWEETHEART vs PURPLE VIPER

This short match was a worst match of the year candidate. Danielle Sweetheart hit Purple Viper with the Super Kick.

Danielle Sweetheart def. Purple Viper via pinfall (Rating: 29, Time: 5')

Joanne Rodriguez.jpg Alina America.jpgElectric Dreamer.jpg Kate Lilly.jpgDebbie Rose.jpg

Joanne Rodriguez: I'm here with the former LAP Women's Parejas champions and next challengers Las Eléctricas and the 3-time LAP Women's Parejas champions Lilly & Rose. Alina, you pinned Mariana Torres last week to earn this title shot.

Alina America: It was a great moment, Joanne. Now it's time to win the LAP Women's Parejas titles again.

Kate Lilly: Excuse me, you are talking about OUR titles. You are talking about one of the most dominant tag teams in women's wrestling history. Do you really think you've got what it takes to take these titles?

Electric Dreamer: You are just two mouthy girls, the kind of bullies we've faced many times in our life. We are in our best form ever and we are certainly not afraid of you.

Rating: 51

Alfonso Garcia: In the next match, Frankie Perez vs Frogue Element!

Mac Smith: Last week Frankie Perez attacked his own brother and tag team partner Jonnie Perez. This is the first singles match in 2021 for the Kill Switch, who owns a record of 6-3-0 in 1vs1 matches. Frogue Element faced Frankie last year and he lost the match, we'll see if the aussie can defeat him this time. Frogue is 4-7-0 in singles matches in 2021.

Frankie Perez_alt1.jpgvst copia.pngimage.jpeg

FRANKIE PEREZ vs FROGUE ELEMENT

It was a car crash. Frogue had a strong start and he hit Frankie with a senton before he went for the Fro' Splash but Frankie avoided the impact. Later Kill Switch took over until he hit Frogue with the Frankensteiner.

Frankie Perez def. Frogue Element via pintall (Rating: 59, Time: 10')

Frankie Perez_alt1.jpg

After the match Frankie Perez took a mic while he was booed.

Frankie Perez: All my life my little brother Jonnie has been nothing but a heavy burden for me. We lost the Parejas titles because of his weakness. I'm tired of lifting Jonnie. My little brother died the day we lost those titles for me.

Rating: 46

Cueball Lynch: How can you be so miserable?

Alfonso Garcia: It's time for the Main Event, Remmy Skye faces Marc Speed!

Mac Smith: Remmy defeated Marc Speed in a qualifying match for Escalera De Oro and then Marc Speed interfered in the ladder match costing him his opportunity to win Escalera De Oro. If Remmy had won that ladder match he would have earned a rematch against Samael The Executioner to recover the LAP Lucha title at the season finale event.

Cueball Lynch: Remmy asked for this rematch because he wants to take revenge and I understand why.

Main Event:

Remmy Skye.jpgvst copia.pngMarc Speed.jpg

REMMY SKYE vs MARC SPEED

It was about storytelling with Remmy talking and acting, while making references to the storyline during the match, and Marc Speed focusing in his in ring work. Remmy was motivated and hit Speed with a meteora early on the match, then he delivered a flying kick and was in control. Later Speed slowed down Remmy with an arm lock before he tried to submit him with the Cross Armbreaker. Remmy fought for half a minute with the crowd chanting his name until Speed released him. Remmy hit Speed with a suicide dive and a tornado DDT before he tried to climb to the top turnbuckle for the Skye Diver, but he didn't expect a Speedy Recovery and he got caught for a cradle. Then Remmy created some distance with an elbow blow before he missed the target with a flying kick. Remmy tried to put on his feet... Speedy Pin! 1, 2, 3! Marc Speed caught Remmy by surprise!

Marc Speed def. Remmy Skye pinfall (Rating: 65, Time: 16')

Alfonso Garcia: Wow, what a controversial finish! Thank you for watching us and see you next week. This is Lucha, this is Lucha America Productions!

This week was much more closer but LAP This Is Lucha managed to beat CZCW Coast To Coast again. Pablo Rodriguez & Al Coleman def. Waylon Walls & El Jaguar (59) in the Main Event of Coast To Coast, while Marc Speed def. Remmy Skye (65) in This Is Lucha. Will This Is Lucha pull off a perfect month by beating Coast To Coast every week en route to Lucha Fest II?
