John Lions
Ultimate Phoenix's Career Threatening Match Hijo Del Relampago vs Ultimate Phoenix Relampago continues to run through your lucha legends who are one foot into retirement and build up potentially the biggest heel in LAP's short history Amazing Fire Fly vs Samael The Executioner Guessing here, Samael doesn't seem like he's headed to the top of the card any time soon, so to spice up his typical "squash FCW guy" arcs of his story, Fire Fly gets a huge singles win thanks to some help from Ricochet Ramone LAP Women's Parejas Perez & Torres (Pinky Perez & Mariana Torres) ©️ vs Lilly & Rose (Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose) Don't want to see Lily and Rose become the Charlotte (or Alicia Strong) of your tag division LAP People's Sunburst ©️ vs Chess Maniac Sorry Sunburst, you were only allowed to be a champion because Chess Maniac didn't want it first. newbiezness
NOCHE DE ESTRELLAS II Sunday, Week 1, July 2021. Kaiser Permanente Arena, Santa Cruz, CA. Attendance: 2505 SELL OUT! Alfonso Garcia: Welcome to Lucha America Productions! Welcome to welcome to Noche De Estrellas II! Mac Smith: We are setting a new attendance record in LAP tonight! (The crowd chants "L-A-P, L-A-P!" loudly) Cueball Lynch: It's incredible how this place looks tonight here in Santa Cruz. Alfonso Garcia: And we have a stacked card tonight. Amazing Fire Fly faces Samael The Executioner. LAP Women's Parejas champions defend the titles against former 2-time champions Lilly & Rose. LAP People's champion Sunburst makes his sixth defence against Sunburst. LAP Parejas champions Perez Xtreme take on The Hammers. And in the Main Event, LAP Lucha champion Remmy Skye vs Frederique Antonio Garcia! Mac Smith: This event is very promising, Alfonso. Alfonso Garcia: And in our first match tonight, Ultimate Phoenix's Career Threatening Match, will he beat Hijo Del Relampago to continue his career in LAP? Cueball Lynch: Ultimate Phoenix is risking it all to honor his friend Eléctrico. I think 46-year-old Phoenix knows Hijo Del Relampago is younger and hungry, but he feels he can still manage to get a win using his in-ring experience. Mac Smith: Eléctrico had a hell of match in his last bout against Relampago and he wasn't able to defeat him. Putting his career on the line to face Relampago could be an ill-considered decision, but it's going to be an exciting match for sure. Ultimate Phoenix's Career Threatening Match ULTIMATE PHOENIX vs HIJO DEL RELAMPAGO A fantastic match to work the crowd, who were cheering Phoenix from the start. Phoenix got some offense in the first minutes with a remarkable suicide dive and he pinned Relampago early on the match after a leg drop, but Relampago kicked out at 1. But Relampago was superior during the entire match and as the minutes passed he dominated more. Relampago tried to hit Phoenix with the Relampago Blanco but he failed. When Phoenix thought his chances were increasing Relampago surprised him with the ReKO. 1, 2, 3! Ultimate Phoenix's career in LAP is over. The crowd chants Phoenix's name, while Relampago leaves the ring with a cold attitude. Hijo Del Relampago def. Ultimate Phoenix via pinfall (Rating: 60, Time: 8') Mac Smith: I can't believe that Ultimate Phoenix's career in LAP is over. We'll miss this Lucha legend! Alfonso Garcia: Ultimate Phoenix on the ramp turns to salute the fans one the last time. A standing ovation for him! Mac Smith: He deserves it. Alfonso Garcia: In the next match, Amazing Fire Fly vs Samael The Executioner. Mac Smith: Amazing Fire Fly comes off a very prestigious victory against Pantera Roja at Solsticio II. It was his first singles match in 2021, he is 4-3-0 overall in 1vs1 matches. We saw last week at One Night Of Lucha 2021 how Samael has become "el rudo número uno en Puerto Rico" or the top heel in Puerto Rico and don't forget his manager Raven Nightfall, who is as hated as him there. But when it comes to this match, I have high expectations. Cueball Lynch: I still don't understand their animosity against everything related to FCW and Puerto Rico. Anyway, I agree with you, this should be a good match. w/ Amazing Fire Fly vs SAMAEL THE EXECUTIONER (w/ Raven Nightfall) This was a car crash. Amazing Fire Fly was moving fast to start the match and Samael wasn't able to hit one of his impact moves, while Amazing Fire Fly began to connect some of his aerial moves. Amazing Fire Fly hit Samael with a senton and went for the pin but he kicked out at 1. Later The Executioner caught his opponent in the air and delivered a thunderous Chokeslam. Samael pinned Amazing Fire Fly but he kicked out at 2. Finally Raven Nightfall made a signal and Samael The Executioner hit Amazing Fire Fly with The Execution. Samael The Executioner def. Amazing Fire Fly via pinfall (Rating: 62, Time: 12') Mac Smith: Great match and another win for Samael. Alfonso Garcia: In our first Title Match tonight, LAP Women's Parejas champions Perez & Torres making their fourth defence vs Lilly & Rose. Mac Smith: This is a classic. Perez & Torres dethroned 2-time champions Lilly & Rose at Apertura II and they defeated them again at Venganza II. So this year it's 2-0 for Perez & Torres, but overall these tag teams are 2-2. Anything can happen! LAP WOMEN'S PAREJAS CHAMPIONSHIP PEREZ & TORRES (PINKY PEREZ & MARIANA TORRES) (c) vs LILLY & ROSE (KATE LILLY & DEBBIE ROSE) This match stole the show. Debbie Rose dominated Mariana and Lilly & Rose went for The Thorn early on the match, but Pinky was there to help her partner. The champions took control of the match and Pinky hit Kate Lilly with the Pink Butterfly Powerbomb, but Debbie saved her. The former 2-time champions regained the advantage to clean the ring and then hit Mariana Torres with The Thorn again before Debbie Rose pinned her. 1, 2 ,3! Lilly & Rose def. Perez & Torres via pinfall (Rating: 57, Time: 10') Mac Smith: 3-time champions! Lilly & Rose become 3-time champions, unbelievable! Cueball Lynch: They look at the cameras making the 3 gesture with their fingers. And they were given slightly different belts, these title belts have been redesigned! Alfonso Garcia: It's time for another match, LAP People's champion Sunburst makes his sixth defence against Chess Maniac. Mac Smith: Chess Maniac is 11-0-0 in singles competition in 2021. More than that, overall Chess Maniac is 25-3-0 in 1vs1 matches in LAP and those three losses were against the unbeaten Remmy Skye. This is by far the most difficult challenger that Sunburst has had. Cueball Lynch: They have met just one time, it was last year and it was a good match that Chess Maniac won. Sunburst has been a worthy People's champion but tonight he has very little chances of retaining the title. LAP PEOPLE'S CHAMPIONSHIP SUNBURST (c) vs CHESS MANIAC We can hear the crowd chanting "let's go Sunburst, let's go Sunburst" to start the match. Sunburst is in control to begin the match and quickly delights the crowd with a tope con hilo and a perfect Sunsault. As usual Chess Maniac doesn't lose mind control and starts to slow down his opponent by grabbing him a couple of times and a perfectly executed takedown. Later Sunburst delivers a Shooting Sun Star Press and goes for the Sun-Spot. 1, 2, NO! Chess Maniac kicks out of Sunburst's finisher. The crowd kept cheering the champion, but Chess Maniac has the advantage now and is on attack mode. After showing a couple of aerial moves of his own, Chess Maniac tries to submit Sunburst with his lethal Checkmate. The champion is in serious problems but somehow touches the ropes and survives the Checkmate! After a few minutes where they were even, Sunburst hits a double kick and a Sunsault before he goes for the Sun-Spot again. 1, 2... 3! Sunburst retained and the crowd went crazy! Sunburst def. Chess Maniac via pinfall (Rating: 66, Time 21') Mac Smith: Oh yeah! What a match! Sunburst has done a miracle in these 21 minutes of agony. Chess Maniac still can't understand what happened. An incredible story for Sunburst, from cinderella to a solid champion. Cueball Lynch: This is probably the biggest upset in LAP history! Nobody thought this could happen, including me. Sunburst did the match of his career and is still the People's champion! Alfonso Garcia: In our next match, LAP Parejas champions Perez Xtreme make their fifth defence vs The Hammers. Cueball Lynch: The Hammers won a Four Way Match at One Night Of Lucha to earn this title shot. The Hammers are 3-1-0 in 2vs2 matches. Mac Smith: Perez Xtreme are 10-2-1 overall in 2vs2 matches in LAP. They are the most successful tag team in LAP history. And then there's that thing about Frankie, who doesn't give any credit to his little brother Jonnie. LAP PAREJAS CHAMPIONSHIP PEREZ XTREME (FRANKIE PEREZ & JONNIE PEREZ) (c) vs THE HAMMERS (JOFFY LAINE & OX MASTADON) A car crash match. The Hammers showed the fantastic combination of strength they are and dominated the start of the match with Ox Mastadon giving Jonnie a hard time. The Ox hit Jonnie with the Ten Ton Splash, but Frankie saved his brother. Frankie lost patience with his brother as usual and got tagged in facing Joffy in what were truly brilliant minutes of wrestling. They were even for most of the time and The Ox and Jonnie became legal later again. The Ox hit the Ten Ton Splash again and Frankie saved him again, but this time after getting tagged Frankie used his surprised brother to throw him against Joffy, sending both of them out of the ring and then performed the P-Clutch on Ox Mastadon to secure the win. Perez Xtreme def. The Hammers via pinfall (Rating: 67, Time: 15') Alfonso Garcia: It's time for the Main Event, LAP Lucha champion Remmy Skye is making his sixteenth defence vs Frederique Antonio Garcia. Mac Smith: Remmy Skye is still unbeaten in singles matches in LAP and has been the champion for more than 450 days. This streak is absolutely impressive. This is a rematch from their previous bout at Solsticio II, that time Frederique Antonio Garcia didn't receive any help from her manager Grace Harper or Jagged, but I doubt this will be the case this time. Cueball Lynch: Yeah. Frederique was arguably the biggest star in FCW and has become one of the highest paid wrestlers in LAP. He is so experienced but at the same time he is still in his prime. I think he's one of the biggest threats in Remmy's reign... LAP Lucha champion Remmy Skye makes his entrance with a special Noche De Estrellas II attire and a slightly modified LAP Lucha belt with silver side plates with the LAP logo. Rating: 61 Main Event: LAP LUCHA CHAMPIONSHIP w/ REMMY SKYE (c) vs FREDERIQUE ANTONIO GARCIA (w/ Grace Harper and Jagged) "Remmy, Remmy!" chants and the champion hits Frederique with a Tornado DTT to start the match. The challenger replies with a clothesline and a back breaker. They exchange blows later until Grace distracts the referee while making a signal to Jagged and he enters the ring to hit Remmy from behind with his finisher the Jagged Edge. 1, 2, NO! Remmy kicks out at 2. Remmy is still in problems and Frederique tries to take advantage with a DDT before applying his finisher the Romeo Is Bleeding. 1, 2, NO! Remmy kicks out at 2 again and Frederique can't believe it! Frederique's shock lasts for too long and that gives the champion the opportunity to recover a little before hitting him with an elbow blow and then connecting a fly kick. The crowd starts to sing "Remmy's on fire, Frederique is terrified, Remmy's on fire, Frederique in terrified!" changing the lyrics of Gala's "Freed From Desire" song, while Grace Harper loses his nerves on the ringside and Frederique turns to the fans to say his catchphrase "Shut up you sissies!", but Remmy uses the distraction to connect a thunderous running bulldog and then climbs to the top turnbuckle. Skye Diver! 1, 2, 3! Remmy retains! Remmy Skye def. Frederique Antonio Garcia via pinfall (Rating: 70, Time: 10') Mac Smith: This is a Match Of The Year candidate, what a bout! Remmy retains once again in a splendid match, the best in 2021 so far. Alfonso Garcia: Absolutely a masterpiece! Thank you for watching us tonight. This was Lucha, this was Lucha America Productions! SHOW RATING: 67 Live On Lilly & Rose become 3-time LAP Women's Parejas champions. Edited December 2, 2023 by newbiezness

As a friend of Eléctrico it was easy to connect him with the story of Relampago defeating Eléctrico in his last match. It was an opportunity to consolidate Hijo Del Relampago as one of the top heels and a "legend killer", that's why I started using the ReKO (RKO) in Eléctrico last match as the most lethal of Relampago's finishers. Schedule will explain this result much more than any other thing, as I've said in the previous predictions contests when you'll see which are the next events in the next weeks in the 2021 schedule, I think it will make sense. On 11/29/2023 at 5:05 AM, John Lions said: LAP Women's Parejas Perez & Torres (Pinky Perez & Mariana Torres) ©️ vs Lilly & Rose (Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose) Don't want to see Lily and Rose become the Charlotte (or Alicia Strong) of your tag division When I explained why Segunda Generación didn't win the Parejas belts I said one of the reasons was that I was worried that 4 out of 5 of the titles were babyface champions. I decided I wanted another heel champion/s in this event. My two best options were Chess Maniac or Lilly & Rose. Checkmate. Here's the second part of my previous explanation. Sunburst has been booked as an underdog more for character wise reasons than any others because he is a solid worker and he has performed at a high level in his title defences so far, and sometimes against not the best opponents. Chess Maniac is one of my top guys and he will continue to be one of my top guys. I though he could lose at some point and put someone over and he would still be Chess Maniac, while Sunburst climbs to a different level with this win. Sunburst's popularity has risen a lot since accidentally becoming the People's champion. I think Xavi Ferrera did me a favor when he refused to sign a contract with LAP, at this point I think Sunburst has been a better champion than Xavi could have been. I hope @HiPlusdoesn't mind me telling you that he picked Ox Mastadon as one of the FCW wrestlers he wanted to keep in the LAP roster in a predictions reward. I was going to release Ox, so this is another time that I have to thank one of you for choosing a different path because now I like this tag team and I think they add something different to the roster. HiPlus
El Hijo second big match essentially retiring a Lucha legend from the company. It has certainly elevated him further. Your mid/main event scene feels so incredibly stacked right now and even losing Electrico and Phoenix it just shows how much depth you have built. Samael has become something of a monster with Raven by his side, he is reminding me a lot of Chess Maniac with his build up. Getting very solid and strong wins without being on every show. I thought this would be a breakout moment for Amazing Fire Fly, or at the least a way for the pair to develop a feud. So I am saddened because he has quietly become one of my favourites in the diary just for his in ring ability. Still looks like Samael is just being built up more and has bigger things on the horizon. Sunburst vs Chess Maniac - God I thought Chess Maniac could go over here and I am so glad you didn't pull that trigger. It makes it so Sunburst a legitimate guy now with one of the biggest wins he could ever get. Chess Maniac isnt weaker because of this loss. Like you could book him against Sunburst again and it would still be Chess Maniac as the favourite. So this is like a perfect, all win. Still I have loved the shock of Sunburst winning and how legitimate he is becoming. I hope he gets a long running feud to develop his character even if it's against CM and he losses in the end. The Hammers have come along way, I could have seen them get that win but they are a solid team inside the division. When Perez Xtreme split up eventually it will be interesting to see how the tag team division shakes out. God Remmy is untouchable at this point. Whoever upsets him it will be a big upset. Not sure where Fredrique and Jagged go from here. I really thought it was time for Fredrique to take the win as there are so many fresh matches. I spoke about it before but at the same time it feels there are so many strong threats, and legitimate challengers between Axxis, Perez, El Hijo, Samael, CM, Fredrique all guys at the top of the card. Then you have guys like Magnifico, Pantera Roja, El Toro and Jagged with the right booking are viable on that LAP People's Champion level. So it is really a credit to the depth you have built with the roster that I could see any of these guys mix it up at the top of the card and Main Event matches. Which I just wanted to highlight. Because it has been such an awesome job.
newbiezness
THE LATINO KINGS HAVE LEFT LAP Yesterday LAP announced The Latino Kings have been released. Apparently Hector Galindo demanded a big pay rise before One Night Of Lucha 2021, which took place in Puerto Rico. When the pay rise was rejected he decided to sit out for the rest of his contract. LAP released Hector Galindo immediately. The Latino Kings were booked to compete in the Four Way Title Shot Match for the LAP Parejas titles at One Night Of Lucha and were replaced by Star Spangled Scramble. Then Rudy Velasquez was booked to face People's champion Sunburst. There were no further plans for Rudy Velasquez as a singles act and LAP decided to release him after One Night Of Lucha. newbiezness
VELADA DEL VERANO 2021 Sunday, Week 2, July 2021. Presley Askew Field, Las Cruces, NM. Attendance: 595 Alfonso Garcia: Welcome to Lucha America Productions! Welcome to New Mexico, welcome to Velada Del Verano! Mac Smith: This is the first time LAP visits New Mexico and I'm excited. Cueball Lynch: New Mexico is showing tonight they love LAP. Alfonso Garcia: Tonight we have 4 qualifying 2vs2 matches for Torneo De Parejas 2021. And in the Main Event LAP Women's champion Electric Dreamer vs Purple Viper! Cueball Lynch: Torneo De Parejas is going to showcase the best tag teams in LAP and also some tag teams from other promotions will chase this prestigious tournament too. Perez Xtreme were the first winners, which tag team will win this year? Alfonso Garcia: In the first qualifying match, Segunda Generación faces Going Cali. Mac Smith: This is the first match for Segunda Generación after losing a Title Match against Perez Xtreme at Solsticio II. Going Cali participated last year in Torneo De Parejas 2020 where they lost to Fire Attack, so they will have the motivation to improve their performance this year. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas GOING CALI (FRANKIE-BOY FERNANDES & CALIFORNIA LOVE MACHINE) vs SEGUNDA GENERACIÓN (EL HIJO DEL NEUTRON & MUSTANG BLANCO JR) A decent match that was all about storytelling. Going Cali made continuous references to their will to last longer in the tournament this year, while Segunda Generación wanted to get the Title Match loss off their heads. It was about who wanted to win the most. El Hijo Del Neutron did the Neutron Gun and it was Mustang Blanco Jr who connected his Acceleration to combine for the Neutron Accelerator. Mustang pinned Fernandes to advance to the Final Stage. Segunda Generación def. Going Cali via pinfall (Rating: 55, Time: 16') Alfonso Garcia: In our second qualifying match of the night, The Night Terrors take on The Aces Of Mayhem. Cueball Lynch: This is the third match for The Aces Of Mayhem in LAP. Last year they lost to Perez Xtreme at Solsticio I and they also participated in Torneo De Parejas 2020. Do you remember who eliminated them, Mac? Mac Smith: The Night Terrors! This is a rematch from last year's tournament. I'm sure The Aces Of Mayhem want to take revenge and also they want to impress. Some teams who participated in last year's tournament were signed later, that was the case of The Night Terrors or Los Rubios Canadienses. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas THE ACES OF MAYHEM (ACE YOUNGBLOOD & MAX MAYHEM) vs THE NIGHT TERRORS (BABAU & MOROI) They tried to steal the show and it was a decent match. The Night Terrors hit Max Mayhem with the Sleep Paralysis before Moroi pinned him. The Night Terrors def. The Aces Of Mayhem via pinfall (Rating: 53, Time: 8') Alfonso Garcia: In the third qualifying match, Los Rubios Canadienses vs Star Spangles Scramble. Mac Smith: Los Rubios Canadienses were signed after participating in last year's Torneo De Parejas. They defeated The American Cobras and lost to Perez Xtreme then. They look to the 2021 edition with big hopes. Cueball Lynch: I don't want to portray this as a Canada vs USA thing, but for a patriotic act like Star Spangled Scramble it's a question of honor, so... yeah, it's basically Canada vs USA for them. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas LOS RUBIOS CANADIENSES (FLASH SAVAGE & OZZIE GOLDSTEIN) vs STAR SPANGLED SCRAMBLE (KIP KEENAN & USACE) It was a car crash match that had subpar wrestling. Ozzie Goldstein hit USAce with the Golden Shower before he pinned him. Los Rubios Canadienses showed a Canadian flag after taking the win and the crowd booed them. Los Rubios Canadienses def. Star Spangled Scramble via pinfall (Rating: 46, Time: 12') Cueball Lynch: I think this match proved that Star Spangled Scramble aren't close to the chemistry level of Los Rubios Canadienses or the best tag teams in LAP. I love Kip, I see potential in USAce, but they still need to work much more as a tag team. Alfonso Garcia: Time to rest a little bit of the Torneo De Parejas to focus on our Women's division, Teresa Perez vs Queen Amazon! Mac Smith: Teresa, inspired by Chess Maniac's open challenge, decided to issue an open challenge of her own and it was Queen Amazon who accepted it and then destroyed Teresa. Then Chess Maniac mocked Teresa. I think Teresa hasn't given up yet. QUEEN AMAZON vs TERESA PEREZ They tried to steal the show but it was just acceptable. Some fans mocked Teresa and she fired back at them, while Queen Amazon laughed at her. Teresa insulted her and Queen Amazon replied with an insult of her own. The insults continued during the match until Queen Amazon hit Teresa Perez with the Amazonian Powerbomb. Queen Amazon yelled at Teresa "Perra" (bitch) after the match was finished. Queen Amazon def. Teresa Perez via pinfall (Rating: 50, Time 9') LAP Women's champion comes out and the crowd chants "Dreamer, Dreamer!" Electric Dreamer: What the hell are you doing? You're giving a regrettable show for the Women's division! (Teresa Perez seems ashamed of herself while Queen Amazon doesn't seem to care in the slightest) Rating: 48 Alfonso Garcia: Time for the last qualifying match of the night, Orgullo Escarlata faces a mystery tag team. Flying Jimmy Foxx sneaks up while poorly covering his face with the elbow provoking laughter from the crowd. The Foxx whispers something in Alfonso Garcia's ear. Alfonso Garcia: What? Feno...? Ok, ok. (Flying Jimmy Foxx sneaks away again and the crowd's laughter continues while Orgullo Escarlata are waiting on the ring losing their patience) Scarlet Scarab: Can we cut this shit? Alfonso Garcia: Making their entrance Pantera Fenomenal and Flying Jimmy Foxx... Panther & The Foxx! Pantera Roja comes out with a new mask and a new name, Pantera Fenomenal, which sounds similar to a mix with his pre-LAP name Phenomenal E. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas ORGULLO ESCARLATA (SCARLET SCARAB & EL ORGULLOSO) vs PANTHER & THE FOXX (PANTERA FENOMENAL & FLYING JIMMY FOXX) Match Of The Night. It was full of dangerous aerial moves. The crowd quickly supported the new babyface tag team with "Let's go Panther, let's go Foxx" chants that The Foxx spurred with his fist in the air. Pantera Fenomenal and Scarlet Scarab had the best moments of the match with a great display of high spots. Scarab hit Pantera Fenomenal with the O'Hararana but he kicked out at 2. El Orgulloso and Flying Jimmy Foxx faced each other later, but this time The Foxx was superior and Scarab had to save his partner after he connected the Flying Foxx. Pantera Fenomenal got tagged in and continued in control until he hit El Orgulloso with the Tumbleweed Legdrop. Panther & The Foxx def. Orgullo Escarlata via pinfall (Rating: 62, Time: 13') Grace Harper and her clients Frederique Antonio Garcia and Jagged take the ring and are received with "You three suck!" chants from New Mexico's crowd. Frederique Antonio Garcia: Shut up you New Mexican sissies! Grace Harper: I have an announcement. I know everyone is so excited with Torneo De Parejas 2021. We are excited too. That's why I've registered Jagged & Frederique for the tournament! Jagged & Frederique will be at Lucha Fury 2021 to qualify for the Final Stage. And make no mistake, we compete to win. Rating: 52 Alfonso Garcia: Wow, huge announcement. It's time for the Main Event, LAP Women's champion Electric Dreamer makes her fifth defence vs Purple Viper. Mac Smith: Purple Viper lost her opportunity to dethrone Dreamer at Solsticio II, but she gets another chance tonight. Dreamer, our first and only LAP Women's champion, looking to continue a reign that lasts for more than 200 days. Main Event: LAP WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP ELECTRIC DREAMER (c) vs PURPLE VIPER Purple Viper was in control for the first minutes and even tried to hit Dreamer with the Viper Bite but Dreamer got rid of her in time. Queen Amazon came out and was heading to the ring to interfere in the match when Teresa Perez came out running down the ramp to hit her from behind and then applied her Around The World Armbar making Amazon testimonially tap out. Dreamer used the distraction to hit Purple Viper with the Electric Chair. 1, 2, 3! Electric Dreamer def. Purple Viper via pinfall (Rating: 57, Time: 10') Alfonso Garcia: And Electric Dreamer retains! Next Sunday, Lucha Fury 2021 in Puerto Rico! Thank you for watching us tonight. This was Lucha, this was Lucha America Productions! SHOW RATING: 60 Live On Pantera Roja turned face and changed his name to Pantera Fenomenal. It was a complete success. - - - > Edited December 4, 2023 by newbiezness

Perez Xtreme (Frankie Perez & Jonnie Perez) won in 2020. By winning it they also became the first LAP Parejas champions. This year it will be an independent thing.
newbiezness
LUCHA FURY 2021 Sunday, Week 3, July 2021. Coliseo Emilio E. Huyke, Humacao, Puerto Rico. Attendance: 1218 Alfonso Garcia: Welcome to Lucha America Productions! Welcome to Puerto Rico, welcome to Lucha Fury! Mac Smith: LAP honors the tradition of FCW FREEDOM's Fury with this event tonight. Cueball Lynch: Look, I understand what it means to promote an event, commercial reasons, etc. But putting Samael The Executioner's face on the logo of Lucha Fury, the man who burned the FCW logo, is unacceptable. It is an insult to FCW tradition. Alfonso Garcia: Tonight we have the last 4 qualifying 2vs2 matches for Torneo De Parejas 2021. And in the Main Event, Ricochet Ramone faces "el rudo número 1 en Puerto Rico" Samael The Executioner! Mac Smith: Great. Alfonso Garcia: In the first qualifying match tonight, Jagged & Frederique vs The Puerto Rican Boys. Mac Smith: Grace Harper announced last week she had registered her clients Jagged & Frederique for Torneo De Parejas in an unexpected move. Jagged & Frederique are 3-0-0 in 2vs2 matches. They are individually very strong and have worked well together, so it sounds like a good idea. Cueball Lynch: The Puerto Rican Boys are fan favorites here in Puerto Rico. They are 1-4-0 in 2vs2 matches in LAP, this match is a must win for them. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas w/ JAGGED & FREDERIQUE (JAGGED & FREDERIQUE ANTONIO GARCIA w/ Grace Harper) vs THE PUERTO RICAN BOYS (ISLAND BOY APOLLO & KID SAN JUAN) Match Of The Night. A great way to work the crowd. The Puerto Rican crowd showed their love for The Puerto Rican Boys as much as their hate for Grace's clients. Island Boy Apollo brought the crowd on its feet when he connected the Island Driver and pinned Jagged, but he kicked out at 2. Later Frederique Antonio Garcia got tagged in and he dominated Kid San Juan until he applied the Romeo Is Bleeding. Jagged & Frederique def. The Puerto Rican Boys via pinfall (Rating: 60, Time: 13') Alfonso Garcia: In our second qualifying match of the night, Perez Xtreme vs The Rock City Stars. Cueball Lynch: As surprising as it was to have Jagged & Frederique in the tournament, I think it's even more surprising that the past winners and current LAP Parejas champions Perez Xtreme are participating this year again. Mac Smith: But it's a good move because this tournament is at least as important as their belts and they could make history if they won the first two editions. And of course, there's an unwritten rule that says that sooner or later the winners of Torneo De Parejas will face the LAP Parejas champions. If Perez Xtreme wins the tournament again they will be in control of their destiny. Alfonso Garcia: What about The Rock City Star? Mac Smith: They are making their appearance in LAP. They are an interesting Canadian tag team who have been working in the independent circuit for the past years. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas PEREZ XTREME (FRANKIE PEREZ & JONNIE PEREZ) vs THE ROCK CITY STARS (ROCKIN' RYAN TURNER & STAN MANNA) They tried to steal the show but it was just a decent match. Perez Xtreme dominated the match, but Frankie lost his nerves with his little brother as usual. Frankie Perez hit Rockin' Ryan Turner with the P-Clutch to win the match. Perez Xtreme def. The Rock City Stars via pinfall (Rating: 51, Time: 8') Samael The Executioner and his manager Raven Nightfall come out and are booed loudly by the Puerto Rican crowd. Alfonso Garcia: Samael and Raven are here! Uhm... Are they coming this way? Raven Nightfall: You nostalgic piece of shit, you're going to pay for it! Samael takes Cueball Lynch by the neck and is about to chokeslam him. Ricochet Ramone comes out cheered running from the crowd and pushes Samael, saving Cueball Lynch in the last moment. Then Ramone and Cueball look from the distance to Samael and Raven, who make threatening gestures to them. Rating: 58 Mac Smith: That was close, Cueball. I'm glad you're okay. Alfonso Garcia: It's time for a different kind of match, Davis Wayne Newton vs El Toro De Oro Jr. Mac Smith: "The Triple Threat" DWN is having a hard time adapting to LAP. He has lost all of his singles matches and is 0-5-0 now. El Toro De Oro Jr is 2-5-0 in 2021, but to his credit he has faced some of the very best this year, like Frederique Antonio Garcia, Chess Maniac or Samael The Executioner. Overall Golden Bull is 7-10-0 in singles matches in LAP. DAVIS WAYNE NEWTON vs EL TORO DE ORO JR This was about storytelling and it resulted a little bit too long for the fans. DWN was willing to take this win by all means and he didn't hesitate to use the dirty tricks. DWN removed one of the turnbuckles and El Toro clashed against the corner. DWN pinned El Toro but he kicked out at 2. From there it was a story of resilience with El Toro finally hitting DWN with the Head Of Steam Gore. El Toro De Oro Jr def. Davis Wayne Newton via pinfall (Rating: 47, Time: 16') Alfonso Garcia: Time for the third qualifying match of the night, Fire Attack vs Juggernightmare! Mac Smith: Fire Attack are 4-3-0 in 2vs2 matches in 2021 and 7-4-0 overall. With Amazing Fire Fly in the form of his life, we can safely say they are among the favorites to win the tournament, don't forget that they lost in last year's Final to Perez Xtreme. Cueball Lynch: Juggernightmare are very dangerous opponents though. They still don't have the chemistry of Fire Attack but they are ruthless and they love inflicting pain to their opponents. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas FIRE ATTACK (AMAZING FIRE FLY & RAPIDO) vs JUGGERNIGHTMARE (JUGGERNAUT JONES & MARTYR) They tried to steal the show but this match was too hardcore for the fans taste. Juggernightmare still need to find a balance between the hardcore and cartoonish lines. Amazing Fire Fly was the star of the match as usual. Amazing Fire Fly hit Juggernaut Jones with the Sky High Fire Fly to advance to the Final Stage. Fire Attack def. Juggernightmare via pinfall (Rating: 46, Time 10') Alfonso Garcia: And now the fourth qualifying match of the night, The Hammers take on The American Cobras. Cueball Lynch: The Hammers come off a Title Match loss against Perez Xtreme, but they made a great impression in their first Title Match. I think The Hammers are on the rise and the fans are buying them. Mac Smith: The American Cobras participated in last year's Torneo De Parejas where they were eliminated by Los Rubios Canadienses and are 1-1 in 2vs2 matches in LAP. They are one of the finest tag teams out there. This should be a good match. Qualifying Match Torneo De Parejas THE AMERICAN COBRAS (MARVEL MALLOY & STORM SPILLANE) vs THE HAMMERS (JOFFY LAINE & OX MASTADON) A good match were everyone got involved. The American Cobras had a strong start with Marvel Malloy facing Joffy Laine, but as soon as The Ox got tagged in the balance of powers changed. The Ox hit Malloy with the Ten Ton Splash, but Storm Spillane was there to help his partner. The Ox keep dominating the match until Joffy got tagged in to hit Storm Spillane with the Double Hammer. Joffy pinned Spillane to win the match. The fans celebrated their win with passion. The Hammers def. The American Cobras via pinfall (Rating: 58, Time: 12') Alfonso Garcia: It's time for the Main Event, Ricochet Ramone vs Samael The Executioner! Mac Smith: I believe at this point this is more than Ramone vs Samael, this match is beyond that. Samael and his manager Raven Nightfall burned the FCW logo, they made the FCW revolution leader Bradford Peverell lose his job, Samael injured another former FCW wrestler like Rob Reynolds and he also couldn't opt to extend his contract... and tonight they attacked my colleague Cueball Lynch, who represents FCW tradition here in LAP. I don't know if you want to add anything else, Cueball. Cueball Lynch: I just want to say that I hope Ricochet Ramone beats the sh*t out of him! Main Event: w/ RICOCHET RAMONE vs SAMAEL THE EXECUTIONER (w/ Raven Nightfall) This was a total car crash from beginning to end. The crowd was fired up with "Samael sucks" and "Raven sucks" chants and they were applauding any good move by Ramone. Ricochet Ramone had a good start and brought the crowd on its feet when, after connecting a meteora, he went for his finisher the Ricochet Senton, but Samael kicked out at 1. Ricochet Ramone was in disbelief and Samael laughed before taking advantage with a Chokeslam. Raven made a signal then and Samael The Executioner hit Ricochet Ramone with The Execution. Samael The Executioner def. Ricochet Ramone via pinfall (Rating: 58, Time: 8') After the match, Raven Nightfall takes an old FCW logo from a fan and breaks it, after acting like it makes her vomit. Samael and Raven are going up the ramp while many people in the crowd spit at them. Raven gives them the middle finger and Samael laughs, provoking the crowd even more. One fan jumps the guardrails and confronts Samael, who doesn't hesitate to take him by the neck and chokeslam him! More fans go crazy and LAP security has to be fully deployed to control the fans. Alfonso Garcia: What a shame! Don't miss Torneo De Parejas 2021 next Sunday! Thank you for watching. This was Lucha, this was Lucha America Productions! SHOW RATING: 60 Live On

Charasmatic Enigma
TORNEO DE PAREJAS 2021 CARD Quarterfinal 1: Jagged & Frederique (Jagged & Frederique Antonio Garcia) vs Segunda Generación (El Hijo Del Neutron & Mustang Blanco Jr) Tough one, but I think Perez Xtreme will get to the final - so picking the faces here to face them. Quarterfinal 2: The Hammers (Joffy Laine & Ox Mastadon) vs Perez Xtreme (Frankie Perez & Jonnie Perez) I don't think the defending champs go out in the quarters Quarterfinal 3: The Night Terrors (Babau & Moroi) vs Panther & The Foxx (Pantera Fenomenal & Flying Jimmy Foxx) Coin flip, but Jimmy Foxx is probably the biggest name here Quarterfinal 4: Fire Attack (Amazing Fire Fly & Rapido) vs Los Rubios Canadienses (Flash Savage & Ozzie Goldstein) I have a soft spot for Amazing Fire Fly, so backing his team Semifinal 1: Winners Quarterfinal 1 vs Winners Quarterfinal 2 Semifinal 2: Winners Quarterfinal 3 vs Winners Quarterfinal 4 Final: Winners Semifinal 1 vs Winners Semifinal 2 Backing a (somewhat) upset loss for Perez Xtreme in the final (TIE-BREAKER) Which 3 Quarterfinal matches will have the highest rating? John Lions
Quarterfinal 1: Jagged & Frederique (Jagged & Frederique Antonio Garcia) vs Segunda Generación (El Hijo Del Neutron & Mustang Blanco Jr) Quarterfinal 2: The Hammers (Joffy Laine & Ox Mastadon) vs Perez Xtreme (Frankie Perez & Jonnie Perez) Quarterfinal 3: The Night Terrors (Babau & Moroi) vs Panther & The Foxx (Pantera Fenomenal & Flying Jimmy Foxx) Quarterfinal 4: Fire Attack (Amazing Fire Fly & Rapido) vs Los Rubios Canadienses (Flash Savage & Ozzie Goldstein) Semifinal 1: Segunda Generación vs Perez Xtreme (Frankie Perez & Jonnie Perez) Semifinal 2: Panther & The Foxx (Pantera Fenomenal & Flying Jimmy Foxx) vs Fire Attack (Amazing Fire Fly & Rapido) Final: Perez Xtreme (Frankie Perez & Jonnie Perez) vs Panther & The Foxx (Pantera Fenomenal & Flying Jimmy Foxx) (TIE-BREAKER) Which 3 Quarterfinal matches will have the highest rating? (in order) Jagged & Frederique vs Segunda Generación The Hammers vs Perez Extreme The Night Terrors vs Panther & The Foxx ___________________________ Since all the matches are connected I'll just put all my thoughts together. Honestly, the only matches I feel confident about are Panther & Foxx and Fire Attack winning their QFs. I originally had Jagged/Frederique winning, but I can't see a heel vs heel match up in the semifinal. There IS a slim chance that The Hammers eke out Perez Extreme... I am leaning purely on the hopium that Pantera can pick up his first big win in LAP. My hunches right now for storyline set up is that Grace and her boys are not very happy with the result of their loss and get pulled into a feud with Segunda Generacion, maybe costing them the Semifinal rematch against Perez Extreme, and Perez Extreme losing the finals and probably the titles is what tips Frankie to ditch his brother and jump back into the singles world.
