Dalton
AJPW NEW YEAR GIANT SERIES 1992 - NIGHT EIGHTEEN A packed-out Budokan Hall witnessed a tremendous main event for the AJPW Unified World Tag Team Championships, a wild six-man match in the semi-main, and the continued rise of the Can-Am Express duo (Dan Kroffat & Doug Furnas). Steve Williams & Terry Gordy made their fourth defense of the tag titles by defeating the Super Generation Army team of Mitsuhara Misawa & Toshiaki Kawada. Misawa held his own and even had the upper hand on each of his opponents at different times, but Kawada was outclassed and was eventually pinned by Williams after a dangerous Backdrop Driver. Stan Hansen recruited Dan Spivey and Johnny Ace to join him in a six-man match against Tsuruta-gun: Jumbo Tsuruta, Akira Taue & Yoshinari Ogawa. Hansen's mission to reclaim the Triple Crown Championship from Tsuruta started strong, with his team scoring the win after a Western Lariat from Hansen to Ogawa. All Asia Tag Team Champions Dan Kroffat & Doug Furnas, collectively known as the Can-Am Express, defeated the masked team of The Eagle & The Falcon to make defense number two of the titles. Kroffat & Furnas are rapidly rising up the card, and it won't be surprising to see them eventually take the AJPW Unified World Tag Team Championships. Elsewhere on the card, Super Generation Army's Kenta Kobashi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi scored a win over the foreign team of Richard Slinger and Fire Cat, Dean Malenko made his return to All Japan with a win over the rookie Satoru Asako, and the legendary trio of Giant Baba, Andre the Giant and Dory Funk Jr. beat Abdullah the Butcher, Giant Kimala and Joel Deaton in a match that got the crowd laughing and happy heading into the top four bouts.
