Joffy Laine stands in the middle of the ring to officially announced his return to Lone Star Wrestling after a couple years spent on the major leagues. Explaining his action last month, where he came back and turned heel by hitting a Stunner over the champ Cali Slick, Joffy Laine keeps it simple: he lost is Texas Heavyweight championship on his way out two years ago and never used his rematch clause, even though is safe to say that isn’t something legally still there as he went away for a while. Still, Joffy Laine shows his desire to aiming straight at the top of the promotion just where he was when he left, and won’t care about what other wrestlers or fans in attendance think about his actions. Texas Heavyweight champ Cali Slick walks out, showing his big babyface heart and absolutely no fear for Joffy Laine's presence, so much so that he even goes so far as to consider putting his title strap up for grabs tonight, creating buzzing through the crowd, but just at this point "Hollywood" Jake Idol blindsides the champ, still eager to get back in the running for a title match. Aces High comes out as the cavalry to help his friend and Long Beach Crew partner, saving Cali Slick and making Jake Idol beat a retreat, while Joffy Laine calmly witnesses everything from his corner. Ricky Dale Johnson then appears on stage, accompanied by his assistant Mya Catalan, announcing a tag team match for later on: Long Beach Crew versus "Hollywood" Jake Idol and Joffy Laine. [61]

The Dynamite Express (Jones, Collier) vs The DeColts (Jack, Ricky)

Coming from a legendary Canadian family, Jack DeColt and Ricky DeColt immediately put former tag champs Cam Jones and Syd Collier, with whom they have clashed before at North of the border, in serious trouble. In a bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, with a slow build approach, The DeColts would seem to have found their way to victory, but suddenly a petite blond guy comes out and reaches the apron, distracting Ricky DeColt who's the legal man. The DeColts seem to know the interferer well and aren’t happy about it, Ricky shoves him off the apron and Jack immediately goes toe-to-toe with him at ringside, but inside the ring mischief happens! A distracted Ricky DeColt ends up in quick cradle pinfall by Cam Jones: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! The Dynamite Express win it in fifteen minutes. [57]

The petite blond guy reunites with Cam Jones and Syd Collier on the ramp, while furious Jack DeColt and Ricky DeColt lay in the middle of the ring, defeated on their debut here in the Mid South. The interferer introduces himself to the audience: he’s Drake Young and for many, many years he managed the absolute top notch wrestlers in Canada, and when he says “top notch wrestlers” he specifically refers to The Dynamite Express. Finally reunite with his clients after finding a deal with the boss Ricky Dale Johnson, the motormouth coward- who has a Great new gimmick rating - claims that Cam Jones and Syd Collier once again prove tonight that they're the best team in the entire continent, way better than the last mediocre survivors of an overrated and dying legacy, referring to the DeColts. [50]

Rapping his way to the ring, the LSW Brass Knuckles champ Fro Sure is ready to take on any member of The Most Wanted as he claimed last time. Maverick Chip Martin appears on stage, accompanied by his fellow allies, looking like he is the chosen one of the group as expected, but wait! On his way to the ramp, Outlaw Sam Laska puts an arm in front of his chest to stop him, while leader Cactus Jack Pryde whispers something in his ear. The face of "The Maverick" suddenly turns dark as Cactus Jack, after a light slap on his face, continues the walk to the ring! OMG! Maverick Chip Martin gets sidelined again, while Cactus Jack Pryde will take even this opportunity all by himself! He's gonna be the one to challenge Fro Sure for the Brass Knuckles titles in a no disqualification bout. [43]

lsw-brassknuckles.png

frosure.png   primetimejackpryde.png
Fro Sure (c) vs Cactus Jack Pryde in a No DQ match for the LSW Brass Knuckles title

In a decent match, Fro Sure proves himself way better than Cactus Jack Pryde when it comes to in-ring talent. However, given the nature of this bout wrestled under brass knuckles rules, the other members of The Most Wanted group start to interfere taking advantage of the fact that there is no disqualification. The South Coast babyface rapper fights like a lion, managing to take down multiple members of the brigade, but eventually Cactus Jack Pryde surprises him by swinging the Brass Knuckles championship on his forehead, taking him down and out. A disgusted referee still has to do his job, counting the winning pinfall. Ladies and gentlemen, in twelve minutes, Cactus Jack Pryde defeats Fro Sure in a tainted win to become your new Brass Knuckles champion. [58]

Interviewed backstage by Sweet Tabitha, Jack DeColt and Ricky DeColt show their disapproval over losing in their debut, saying they know well that motormouth coward of Drake Young and promising that they will avenge their loss, returning it to The Dynamite Express with interest. After this statement, David Stone approaches Jack DeColt and Ricky DeColt in an historical staredown. The young Stone pokes fun at the DeColts as is normal given the rivalry between the two families, while still showing great mutual respect between babyfaces. David Stone hopes that The DeColts will teach a lesson to The Dynamite Express and Drake Young, which soon "the entire Mid South will learn to hate" to quote the young talent. After that, maybe, just maybe, there will be room for a Stone vs. DeColts match-up! Huh? [44]

sayeedali.png   texashangman.png
Sayeed Ali vs Texas Hangman
In a good match, babyface Texas Hangman unleashes all his anger at Sayeed Ali, after being almost strangled with a steel chain by his rival during the Gold Rush match last month. Babyface basically has the upper hand throughout the entire first seven minutes of action, making Sayeed Ali grow impatient, who at one point decides to pull out. "The East Side Assassin" blatantly sends his opponent to hell as soon as he retrieves at ringside, walking toward the ramp along with his uncle and manager Travis Century. The Miami crowd covers Sayeed Ali with boos, while Texas Hangman witnesses this forfeit in the middle of the ring as the referee reaches the ten-count: Texas Hangman wins as Sayeed Ali intentionally gets counted out. [61]

Ricky Dale Johnson anticipates Sayeed Ali at the beginning of the ramp as the boss, accompanied by his assistant Mya Catalan, exposes his disappointment with "The East Side Assassin" who intentionally just backed down from a fight, despite acting tough in the previous months. Travis Century attempts to patch things up, preaching in favor of his nephew, but making the situation even worse and rattling RDJ. Because of this, the boss announces almost two months in advance that, at LSW No Way Out of the Cage, Texas Hangman and Sayeed Ali will collide once again, but this time no cowardly behavior will be tolerated! If anyone wants to act tough, then they will have to prove they are tough! Because theirs will be a CAGE MATCH! And there will be NO WAY OUT of it! [58]

antoniodelveccio.png brutusmilano.png   marvelmalloy.png stormspillane.png
The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) (c) vs The American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) for the LSW Tag Team titles

After winning the belts in a tainted way, The Empire are set to defend their LSW Tag Team championships against former champs The American Cobras, teasing the babyface duo straight from the beginning by raising the title straps in front of them. In a bout that has great wrestling, The American Cobras definitely outwrestle the champs in the first part of the match, but eventually the Italian-Americans react with some dirty tricks to balance the bout. In a very similar ending to their previous match, this time The Empire are caught cheating by the referee who is almost on the verge of calling for a DQ. The Empire lose lucidity for a few moments to argue with him, being punished by The American Cobras. Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane send Brutus Milano out of the ring, while legal man Antonio Del Veccio gets hit by the Cobra Strike! OMG! Marvel malloy goes for the cover: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! The hot potato continues to be passed inside the tag team division: The American Cobras reclaim their title belts and become three-time LSW Tag Team champions to the delight of the fans in attendance. [66]

thearchitect.png   tigresalvajejr.png
The Architect vs Tigre Salvaje Jr

In a midcard match aiming to calm the crowd a little bit, the old-school slow-paced grappling of heelish The Architect collides with lucha libre unique offense of babyface Tigre Salvaje Jr, accompanied by his friend and partner El Jaguar on his corner. The competitors have great chemistry and it shows in their perfromances, also the announcing team gives the bout a boost. In a match with good wrestling and a decent reaction from the Miami crowd, The Architect comes out on top, defeating Tigre Salvaje Jr by submission in ten minutes with a Blueprint. [56]

With his nutty attitude, fan favorite Southern Stinger delivers an in-ring promo talking about the upcoming King of the Rode tournament, declaring his interest in winning the single elimination tournament. "The Stinger" gets interrupted by Duka Hazzard though, who basically says how "The Stinger" is nothing more than an interesting character, yet mediocre competitor, and we should look at his next assisted as the clear cut favorite to win the Rodeo! After informing us that "The Animal" Taheiji Konoe left Mid South, in fact, Duke Hazzard reveals that he will serve as manager for "The Big Dog" Josh Nash! A muscular heavyweight competitor, Josh Nash - aka Atlas - shows up in LSW for the first time getting a Great rating, seeming like a real bad ass convinced of his own means and rather swaggering to think he can easily impose himself on many audience favorites, including Southern Stinger. The madman facepainted vigilante responds to the challenge, wishing he was ahead of Josh Nash in the bracket. [45]

zappowerson.png   zeusmaxmillion.png
Zap Powerson vs Zeus Maxmillion

In a decent match in terms of in-ring performance, the match-up between the heel veteran and the babyface rising star tells a story of pride, a desire to put the rookie in his place for Zeus Maxmillion, and a desire to prove to the egomaniac veteran that he is "The Next Big Thing" in the business for Zap Powerson. In his hometown Miami, Zeus Maxmillion loses clean to Zap Powerson in around nine minutes, as the rising star goes over by hitting a Press Powerslam to win the match by pinfall. Huge W for Zap Powerson who goes 11-0 in singles action here in LSW, also claiming probably his biggest career victory so far. Match gets the crowd hotter. [52]

In a taped video from a top class luxury hotel room, Platinum Agency Group talk about then upcoming King of the Rodeo. After an introduction of agent Laura Catherine Huggins, James Prudence takes the stage reminding everyone that last year he was the winner of the tournament. Entering the Rodeo again as the reigning champion, "Platinum" is confident that he can assert himself again, but in the remote case that he doesn't make it, then it will be up to one of the two elite clients of Platinum Agency Group to bring home the trophy. Davis Wayne Newton and Dreadnought will also enter the tournament, and you can expect one of these three to win it all! [60]

aceshigh.png calislick.png   hollywoodjakeidol.png joffylaine.png
Long Beach Crew (Aces High, Cali Slick) vs Jake Idol, Joffy Laine

In a bout that has superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Joffy Laine wrestles his first LSW match in over two years, teaming up with "Hollywood" Jake Idol to contrast babyface Californians, Texas Heavyweight champ Cali Slick and Aces High, aka Long Beach Crew. After fourteen minutes, "The Texas Coral Snake" Joffy Laine scores the victory as he hits Aces High with a Stunner to seal the deal. Good performance by the champ, Cali Slick, but his team still walks out with a loss. [62]

After the match, while the champ Cali Slick helps his friend Aces High returning backstage, Joffy Laine stands smiling in the squared circle while "Hollywood" Jake Idol keeps trash-talking Cali Slick and his partner. Being way to confident and cocky, Jake Idol approaches Joffy Laine thinking he's a trusty ally, giving him a manly hug and giving him a couple of friendly pats on his chest. Joffy Laine smiles at his tag partner for the night, before giving him the double middle fingers! NOT AGAIN! STUNNER! STUNNER! STUNNER! Joffy Laine stuns Jake Idol who goes down and out in the middle of the ring. Oh poor Jake Idol, didn't you receive the news? NEVER EVER TRUST A DAMN TEXAS CORAL SNAKE!!! [55]

kipkeenan.png   shooterseandeeley.png
Kip Keenan vs Shooter Sean Deeley

Kip Keenan and Shooter Sean Deeley go one-on-one after for the second time after they faced each other in singles action almost one year ago, when "The Shooter" defeated "The American Eagle" to win the Texas Heavyweight championship. Despite great performances in building a Spectacle, the match gets penalized for being done to a crowd that is already at an emotional high. Desiring to prove he can defeat "The Shooter" one-on-one, Kip Keenan throws himself perhaps too headlong into the bout and gets outwrestled by Sean Deeley who kinda dominates the entire match. Very, very unexpected and unbalanced match as "The Shooter" seems in absolute control and Kip Keenan is having the beating of a lifetime in the squared circle. After a couple of near falls, The Shooter connects a second Tornado German Suplex and he seems like he's playing with his opponent at this point. Manager Vinny Cruz is over the moon at ringside, even the wrestling machine Sean Deeley lets out a slight smile - something never seen so far in LSW - lifting "The American Eagle" from his neck and locking him into the Death's Triangle! BUT WARNING: Kip Keenan with a surge of pride surprises his opponent, tripping him up and going for the quick cradle pinfall: 1 ... 2 .. 3!!! OMG! Despite being slaughtered for fifteen minutes, "The American Eagle" steals this one, leaving Shooter Sean Deeley dumbfounded as he finds himself with a bitter defeat on his hands. [63]

Great show! Very enjoyable from start to finish.

The Dynamite Express vs The DeColts was a good match but the best part was the segment where The DeColts and David Stone met, also hinting a DeColts vs Stone match in the future which is great news.

The Empire and The American Cobras are delivering great matches as the belts jump from one tag team to the other.

Zap Powerson looks unstoppable, you're doing a good job with him.

Joffy Laine is getting hotter with the "NEVER EVER TRUST A DAMN TEXAS CORAL SNAKE!!!" line and his untrustworthy gimmick.

And Kip is still the MVP.

Total Wrestling News: LSW Road Agent Moving On

Sources inside the company have confirmed that LSW will be losing Fabulous Frank shortly after he informed management that he wanted to move on. Our sources indicate that he will be working a further month to "tie up any loose ends" before making his exit. Part of the creative team since the very beginning of Lone Star Wrestling, the veteran Fabulous Frank should be replace by Human Arsenal, who recently retired from in-ring action and left TCW.

I hope we'll get to see Human Arsenal in some segments, he could do a nice job in front of the camera as well.

Davis Wayne Newton vs Roger Monteiro in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a match that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the San Antonio crowd, “Triple Threat” Davis Wayne Newton shines and defeats Roger Monteiro in ten minutes by submission with a STF. His agent Laura Catherine Huggins applaudes DWN from ringside. [62]

The Architect vs DeCipher in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
The master technician, The Architect, finds himself against a debuting tecnico luchador who surprises him with unorthodox techniques and lucha libre holds. In a technical masterclass, The Architect eventually finds the victory in almost fifteen minutes, making his opponent DeCipher tap out to the Blueprint. [53]

Cali Slick vs Ragnar The Viking in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
The LSW Texas Heavyweight champion is up next, and he battles against Ragnar The Viking, an imposing heavyweight straight from partner company CILL. With norse brute strenght and ferocity, Ragnar starts off really strong, but eventually after seven minutes “The Draw” Cali Slick connects his Slick-Back to seal the deal and pass the turn. Great match though, especially for the First Round. [68]

After his victory, Cali Slick takes few minutes on the stick to entertain the audience, doing a masterful job of improvising with the crowd. Will "The Draw" walk out this weekend as Texas Heavyweight champ and King of the Rodeo? [69]

Manny Alvarez vs Warwick Good in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a bout that doesn’t have much heat and terrible wrestling, Warwick Good defeats the outsider Manny Alvarez in eight minutes by pinfall with a Face First Suplex. “The Bad Man” advances to the Second Round, cheered by his brotherhood allies, Kalder and Wolfie Tagg. [38]

Shooter Sean Deeley vs Lion Genji in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
A so-called dream match for the rabid IWC fans, puroresu star Lion Genji surprinsigly appears in Lone Star Wrestling to join the King of the Rodeo tournament, colliding against Sean Deeley. In a decent match lasting almost thirteen minutes, “The Shooter” scores the pinfall with a Tornado German Suplex. The announcing team lifts the match. [61]

Jake Idol vs Animal Harker in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
Another new face entering the Rodeo, like it happens every edition, the menacing babyface Animal Harker returns to his hometown State of Texas to battle up against Jake Idol. In a bout that good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, “Hollywood” Jake Idol is able to overcome some suffering, hitting his Reality Check on Animal Harker after twelve minutes to win. [61]

Outlaw Sam Laska vs Kip Keenan in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
With Cactus Jack Pryde on commentary, who confirmed how The Most Wanted had two spots in the Rodeo and he chose himself, obviously, and the imposing Sam Laska, “The Outlaw” goes one-on-one against Kip Keenan. The match suffers from his odd booking, as workers try to do a slow build in such a short space of time and didn’t work. However, Kip Keenan is able to score the pinfall after his Belly To Belly Suplex after ten minutes. [52]

A great ending angle sees Cactus jack assaulting Kip Keenan in the middle of the ring, and fail to beat him down. “The American Eagle” ducks the PrydeFall and almost knockdown Cactus Jack Pryde, who beats a retreat alongside Outlaw Sam Laska and Venomous Venus Angeletti. [73]

LSW King Of The Rodeo 2023 - Day #2
Friday, Week 1, October 2023
Held in a SOLD OUT Ranch of San Antonio (Mid South) in front of 10,000 people
111,495 viewers on WrestleWorld

A sold out Ranch Of San Antonio gets immediately lit up by fan favourite Southern Stinger, who improvises well throughout the segment, getting himself and the crowd ready to rumble! [49]

Southern Stinger vs Siale Valhalla in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
Tough match-up for “The Stinger” as he has to collide against "The Tongan Death Machine" Siale Valhalla, a former international rugby player for Tonga and a big powerhouse heel of a wrestler. Engaging in a decent wild brawl, eventually Southern Stinger scores the victory in ten minutes after a Rayne Drop. [54]

Rob Reynolds vs Josh Nash in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
“The Big Dog” Josh Nash makes his in-ring debut against Rob Reynolds in a decent match lasting around nine minutes. The Asian-American babyface tries to take down Josh Nash with his striking, but eventually the strenght of “The Big Dog” hands him the victory, as Josh Nash pins Rob Reynolds following a Kronus Bomb. This match gets the crowd hotter. There’s one negative though, Josh Nash and his new manager Duke Hazzard are a very poor combination that doesn’t click at all. [54]

Dreadnought vs Juggernaut Jones in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
The menacing Dreadnought faces an opponent at least as imposing as him. Another product of the Titan Factory, run by Dreadnought's legendary father Dread, Juggernaut Jones goes against Dreadnought in a bout that has a decent reaction from the crowd but terrible wrestling. In almost eight minutes, Dreadnought wins this colossal match-up and advances to the Second Round. [33]

Quentin Queen vs Jared Johnson in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a match that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from The Ranch, Jared Johnson defeats Quentin Queen in twelve minutes by submission, forcing his opponent to tap out to his Carolina Crossface. Match could have been better, but unfortunately these two competitor don’t seem to click and it make for an awkward bout. [64]

With his LSW Brass Knuckles title around his waist, new champion Cactus Jack Pryde brags about he’s the face of hardcore wrestling now that that he won the brass knuckles championship. Shortly after this, his Rodeo opponent comes out and he definitely has the look of a psychopath, arriving to the ring with a spiked baseball bat. Wicked Lester curiously enters the King of the Rodeo, presented as The Dark Princ of The Death Match. [51]

Cactus Jack Pryde vs Dark Prince Of The Death Match in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
Selling being scared by his opponent’s violent attitude, the so-called “face of hardcore wrestling” Cactus Jack Pryde keeps avoiding contact with Wicked Lester, and plays smart and safe. After eight minutes, The Dark Prince Of The Death Match gets distracted by Maverick Chip Martin, coming out to help his leader, and Cactus Jack hits the PrydeFall to win the match. A decent bout, especially thanks to a pretty good chemistry between the two wrestlers. [46]

Benny Benson vs David Stone in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
A well known competitor also joined the Rodeo, as Benny Benson is paired against the young promising David Stone in a babyface versus babyface match with great heat and good wrestling. David Stone goes over big, defeating Benny Benson in ten minutes by pinfall with a Stone Cutter. [61]

After the match, Benny Benson shows great sportsmanship by shaking David Stone’s hand and acknowledge his bright future. [49]

Aces High vs Joffy Laine in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
After colliding recently in tag team action, the bracket draw paired babyface Aces High and heel Joffy Laine. In a one-on-one with great wrestling and a decent reaction from the audience, Joffy Laine passes the turn, hitting a Stunner on Aces High and pinning him in ten minutes. “The Texas Coral Snake”slithers to the Second Round of the tournament. [65]

James Prudence vs Bart Biggins in the First Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
And in the main event, last year Rodeo's winner James Prudence shows up to fight against: BART BIGGINS!!! Another well known wrestler across the U.S., Biggins' presence testifies to the growing importance this tournament is gaining. In a bout that has fantastic heat and good wrestling, James Prudence defeats Bart Biggins in fifteen minutes by pinfall after a Surf's Up. [64]

And the close Day #2 of the King of the Rodeo, the entire Platinum Agency Group celebrates as all three competitors advanced to the Second Round as expected. James Prudence, Davis Wayne Newton and Dreadnought; one of them will really go home with the trophy in just two days? [62]

LSW King Of The Rodeo 2023 - Day #3
Saturday, Week 1, October 2023
Held in a SOLD OUT Ranch of San Antonio (Mid South) in front of 10,000 people
118,463 viewers on WrestleWorld

Cactus Jack Pryde vs Southern Stinger in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
We start off with a hot match-up between Brass Knuckles champ and hated heel Cactus Jack Pryde, accompanied at ringside by his entire The Most Wanted faction, and fan favourite Southern Stinger in a bout that has good heat and decent wrestling. The Most Wanted distracions and interferences are handled by Kip Keenan, Jared Johnson and David Stone who walk out to almost even the odds, starting a huge ringside brawl that lit up the crowd. After nine minutes, Cactus Jack Pryde gets himself distracted by giving orders to his brigade, and Southern Stinger takes him down before connecting a Rayne Drop to win the match! Southern Stinger advances to the Quarter-finals! [56]

Josh Nash vs David Stone in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
With Duke Hazzard managing him at ringside, despite bad chemistry, heel powerhouse Josh Nash defeats David Stone and goes 2-0 in Lone Star Wrestling after a good match, pinning the young Canadian star with a Kronus Bomb after ten minutes. This match gets the crowd hotter. [61]

In a a taped video, Jack and Rycky DeColt talks about their loss against The Dynamite Express during their debut, caused by the interference of Express’ manager Drake Young. Shooting at Cam Jones, Syd Collier, and their motormouth manager, it looks like The DeColts want a rematch against The Dynamite Express to even the score. [46]

Dreadnought vs Shooter Sean Deeley in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
A really interesting match-up between heels, as the wrestling machine Shooter Sean Deeley goes 0-100 real quick, trying to outwrestle and wear down Dreadnought. The masked behemoth chases away "The Shooter" multiple times, but Sean Deeley methodically always quickly returns to the attack with choke holds and takedown attempts. Eventually, after seven minutes of intense action, Shooter Sean Deeley ducks a Lariat and consequently connects his Tornado German Suplex to win the match. Great chemistry between these two and Dreadnought's best match so far probably. [62]

Jared Johnson vs The Architect in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a bout that has superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Jared Johnson defeats The Architect in fifteen minutes by pinfall following a fast roll up. This match has been poorly placed to be fair, as a technical masterclass isn’t the right thing to be feeding an already rowdy crowd. The Architect gets surprised by the roll-up and is visibilly annoyed by that after the bell. Quite a snub for him. [59]

Interviewed backstage by Sweet Tabitha, the boss Ricky Dale Johnson obviously speaks very well about the ongoing Rodeo tournament, before covering something that shows how much Lone Star Wrestling is obsessed with explaining even little details. Sweet Tabitha, in fact, asks the boss why multiple important competitors in LSW didn’t participate in the King of the Rodeo. Regarding Texas Hangman and Sayeed Ali, RDJ explains that he’s letting them getting physically ready for their upcoming grueling Cage match next month, selling the match like it could be career-threatening. Zap Powerson has been ruled out by RDJ himself, after he suffered - only in kayfabe - a small shoulder injury after hitting the turnbuckle in his match at LSW Beach Brawl. Nothing to scary, but some rest was the best option to avoid further damages. Probably, this was just an excuse to avoid having to make Zap Powerson lose a match during the Rodeo, so his winning streak could continue. Last but not least, Zeus Maxmillion simply took himself out of competition, as RDJ says “The Bronzed God” is not in the right mindset after losing in hometown Miami against powerhouse rookie Zap Powerson. [56]

James Prudence vs Kip Keenan in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
What was last year's Rodeo Final is coming up again soon this time in a superb Second Round bout. A well-balanced match between major stars, Kip Keenan eventually defeats James Prudence in fourteen minutes by pinfall with an One-Winged Eagle. This match could have been even better, as "Platinum" James Prudence seems really off his game. Minor note, Kip Keenan has a gimmick that is getting stale. [65]

Davis Wayne Newton vs Warwick Good in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a heel vs heel bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Davis Wayne Newton overcomes Warwick Good by submitting him to the STF in eight minutes to reach the Quarter-finals. Good job at ringside by Laura Catherine Huggins, DWN’s manager, while The Hot Taggs witness the match at Warwick Good’s corner. [61]

The American Cobras join the ring for a short promo, celebrating the recapture of the LSW Tag Team titles, becoming the first ever three-time tag champs in the promotion. Former champs The Empire, which played some hot potato with The Cobras for the tag straps recently, interrupt the champs to add further fuel in their heated rivalry, demanding a new title shot by using their rematch clause. [63]

Fro Sure vs Joffy Laine in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a bout that has great wrestling and good heat, former Brass Knuckles champ Fro Sure takes on Joffy Laine. After almost ten minutes of a well-balanced match, Joffy Laine hits his Stunner, then going for the pin: 1 .. 2 .. 3!! “The Texas Coral Snake” defeats the babyface West Coast rapper and qualifies to Day #4 of the King of the Rodeo. [66]

Cali Slick vs Jake Idol in the Second Round of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a main event match that has superb wrestling and good heat, and rating-wise is ranked at #2 as best match ever in Lone Star Wrestling, the LSW Texas Heavyweight champion Cali Slick defeats “Hollywood” Jake Idol in fourteen minutes by pinfall with a Slick-Back. [76]

LSW King Of The Rodeo 2023 - Day #4
Sunday, Week 1, October 2023
Held in a SOLD OUT Ranch of San Antonio (Mid South) in front of 10,000 people
133,229 viewers on WrestleWorld

LSW King Of The Rodeo is sponsored by Herrera Steak, the best steak in town!

Cali Slick vs Joffy Laine in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo
To kick off the show, the LSW Texas Heavyweight babyface champ Cali Slick takes on heel star Joffy Laine in a bout that has superb wrestling and good heat. After sixteen minutes of action, “The Draw” goes for his Slick-Back but Joffy Laine hangs tight to the ropes to avoid the signature, then connecting his finisher on the champ: STUNNER! STUNNER! 1 .. 2 .. 3!! OH MY!! “The Texas Coral Snake” strikes a clean victory over the Texas Heavyweight champ to advance to the Semi-finals. This match gets the show off to a strong start. [69]

Davis Wayne Newton vs Kip Keenan in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo
The last remaining member of Platinum Agency Group, Davis Wayne Newton, goes one-on-one against babyface major star Kip Keenan in a bout that has super wrestling and good heat. Both competitors deliver great performances and have one of the best rated matches in LSW history. After fourteen minutes, Kip Keenan hits DWN with the One-Winged Eagle to score the victory. [77]

After the bell, Kip Keenan shows great sportsmanship, approaching a dejected Davis Wayne Newton and offering him an hadnshake as a sign of respect after a great performance. DWN milks it a bit, pondering whether or not to shake hands and looking out at the audience, and just at the moment when Davis Wayne Newton seems to have made up his mind, the entire Platinum Agency Group storms into the ring, with "Platinum" James Prudence pushing his client Davis Wayne Newton away, sending Kip Keenan to hell. After a few big words from James Prudence, the entire P.A.G. return backstage, leaving babyface Kip Keenan alone inside the squared circle. [64]

Jared Johnson vs Shooter Sean Deeley in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a Quarter-finals match with superb wrestling and good heat, heel shooter Sean Deeley and babyface Jared Johnson wrestle an intense bout, showcasing their fantastic technical abilities, always trying to outwork the opponent. After eleven minutes though, "Double J" comes so close to victory after locking in his Carolina Crossface! "The Shooter" raises his right hand, seconds away from tapping out, but somehow he pulls out an outstanding reversal, moving all his weight backward and flipping the crossface, before reversing it into a Death's Triangle! How in the world!?! "The Shooter" with a technical masterpiece, and now Jared Johnson has no other option but to tap pout before fading: DIN DIN DIN! Sean Deeley advances to the Semi-finals. [75]

Josh Nash vs Southern Stinger in the Quarter-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In a bout that has good heat and decent wrestling, despite being the worst Quarter-final match by far, Southern Stinger defeats heel powerhouse Josh Nash in nine minutes after a wild brawl. The finish of the match sees Josh Nash lifting “The Stinger” for his Kronus Bomb, but somehow Southern Stinger rolls over his opponent’s back, putting him on the mat and into a quick pinfall for the victory! Southern Stinger steals the W to advance. [49]

Post-match, Josh Nash refuses to accept defeat, especially after a quick cradle, beating down Southern Stinger before lifting him up and hitting the facepainted madman babyface with a nasty Kronus Bomb that may have injured Stinger’s back. [46]

Taking over the squared circle for few minutes, The Dynamite Express and their manager Drake Young - who showed up last month for the first time here in Lone Star Wrestling - cut a promo over their rivals Jack and Ricky DeColt. The motormouth manager Drake Young clearly enjoys having the freedome to go off-script and performs well, announcing that he already talked to the boss Ricky Dale Johnson and set a rematch for LSW Desperados 2023 in a couple of weeks, so his clients can show how better they are than those two washed and overrated Canadian brothers. [43]

Joffy Laine vs Kip Keenan in the Semi-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo
Stunning, absolutely masterclass one-on-one action. Major babyface Kip Keenan and sneaky heel Joffy Laine raise the bar even higher in a bout with superb wrestling and great heat from the Ranch audience. In a well-balanced brawl, both competitors get close to the victory but a couple of near falls or rope break to stop lethal submission holds avoid them to win the match so far. After seventeen minutes, Kip Keenan ducks the Stunner, and lifts Joffy Laine over his shoulders, getting ready for the One-Winged Eagle! “The Texas Coral Snake” starts panicking, and in the rush of the moments decides to eye poking Kip Keenan to get himself free. Joffy Laine gets released, but the referee stops him right away, while Kip Keenan crumbles on the mat, covering his eyes. The referee Clinton Edwards takes some seconds, then deciding to call for the DQ! DQ! DQ! The eye poking causes disqualification for Joffy Laine, which means that Kip Keenan is the first finalist of the 2023 Rodeo! “The Texas Coral Snake” goes face-to-face with the referee, harshly protesting against the call, while the crowd cheers for Kip Keenan. [79]

Shooter Sean Deeley vs Southern Stinger in the Semi-finals of LSW King Of The Rodeo
In the second Semi-finals bout, the cold-hearted wrestling machine Sean Deeley goes one versus one against fan favourite Southern Stinger in a match that has great wrestling and good heat. Selling some back injury following Josh Nash’s earlier Kronus Bomb, “The Stinger” attracts all the sympathy of the crowd, and kinda build a comeback after suffering in the first half. However, after almost thirteen minutes, Shooter Sean Deeley connects his second Tornado German Suplex of the bout, before locking his opponent inside the Death’s Triangle, forcing the madman vigilante to tap out. [68]

From the announcing table, commentators Lee Bambino and MC Motormouth announces that at LSW Desperados 2023 we’ll have a championship rematch between current champ Cactus Jack Pryde and former champ Fro Sure, in a match to be fought under brass knuckles rules. [52]

Cameras take us backstage, inside the boss’ office, where Ricky Dale Johnson and his assistant Mya Catalan announces a new match for next month’s No Way Out Of The Cage event. Continuing their tango around the LSW Tag Team championships, the current champs The American Cobras will defend their crown against former champs The Empire, in a Cage match! [54] Right after the announce, Joffy Laine storms inside the office, mad as hell for being disqualified in his Semi-finals match. “The Texas Coral Snake” complains straight to the boss, even alluding that maybe RDJ is protecting Kip Keenan and that this tournament may be rigged. Ricky Dale Johnson replies firmly, but trying to keep the situation under control, make sure the camera is turned off before going on with this conversation. [62]

Kip Keenan vs Shooter Sean Deeley in the Final of LSW King Of The Rodeo

And in the main event, two rivals collide in a bout that has super wrestling and great heat. Major babyface Kip Keenan goes one-on-one with heel wrestling machine Sean Deeley with the Rodeo trophy on the line. With a slow build approach to the match, selling fatigue as this their third match of the night, Kip Keenan starts strong as opposed to what was seen during their last showdown, when Kip Keenan won despite being dominated by Sean Deeley. "The Shooter" eventually balances things out, and well over the fifteen minutes mark a couple of near falls lit up the crowd. The finish of the match sees the referee taking a minor bump, who leaves him down and out for just around a minute, Kip Keenan lifts Sean Deeley over his shoulders for the One-Winged Eagle, but Joffy Laine storms into the ring! Gut kick and STUNNER! STUNNER! STUNNER! "The Texas Coral Snake" avenges his Semi-finals elimination, disappearing behind the railings. Meanwhile, inside the squared circle, Shooter Sean Deeley hits a Tornado German Suplex over a stunned Kip Keenan, while the referee gets back to his senses, just in time to count a slow pinfall: 1 ..... 2 ..... 3!!! After twenty-one minutes, Shooter Sean Deeley wins the match to become the 2023 King of the Rodeo!!! A world class match, way above what we should expect from a Small company in Mid South. Not a single malus in the dirt sheets, phenomenal result. [86]

After the match, Ricky Dale Johnson walks out, visibly irritated by Joffy Laine's interference during the match. However, attributing no responsibility to “The Shooter”, the boss shakes his hand and congratulates him, before handing him the King of the Rodeo trophy! And after that, Shooter Sean Deeley also poses alongside his manager Vinny Cruz, as they pose with the $50,000 maxi-check sponsored by Herrera Steak, the best steak in town! Congrats to “The Shooter”, the winner of 2023 Rodeo tournament. [69]

Hi everyone, with the following message I wanted to inform you that this diary is officially closed!

I had to reset my secondary PC (yeah, I have a Macbook and I am "forced" to use an older one just for TEW lol) after some settings went to hell. With TEW IX approaching in a matter of weeks, and after this massive success of the Rodeo tournament, I decided to pull the trigger and reset it. I think there was no more opportune time to end this chapter. Lone Star Wrestling was a blast! No doubt my best save ever on TEW and it was so much fun, I hope you enjoyed it and thanks to all of you who participated in the diary!

Maybe you will find me again with a new diary on the brand new TEW IX, I hope to find you there too! And of course please feel free to live some thoughts or feedbacks on this journey to improve my booking skills even more!

Ricky ✌️

@Wrestling Machine Wow! I don't know what to say to begin. The ratings were incredible, I can't argue that it's not a good time to say goodbye. 81 as overall rating is unbelievable but the 86 that Kip and Deeley pulled is even more surprising to me. I'm happy to be the first and only to predict the entire Rodeo Madness in your diary.

This has been one of the best diaries I've ever read on these forums, congratulations Ricky. I'll probably be tempted to create LSW in one of my saves, even if its not me who books it or it's not for a diary, as it always seems to me like a very natural addition to the C-Verse. Also I hope to still see you in my diary as you've always been one of the best predictors and especially in this predictions cycle you're killing it.
