Nobby_McDonald
PRE SHOW Dark Order beat Bandido, Dalton Castle & The Boys in 7:34 when Vance pinned Brandon with a Protobomb. 51 COLLISION Saturday, week 3, May 2024 Cable Dahmer Arena, Independence, Missouri (5,800 capacity) Announcers: Nigel McGuinness, Taz and Tony Schiavone There is a now familiar cast of characters in the ring to start the show as we see EVP Kenny Omega with Chief of Staff Steve Austin and opposite them are The EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson along with 'Hangman' Adam Page. Austin cuts to the chase... he tells The Elite not to try and play games like they did on Dynamite where they tried to gift themselves title matches... if they start doing that then Austin says he can call on a lot of the locker room who want a piece of The Elite... if The Elite want title matches so badly, Adam Page can win one by winning the Casino Battle Royal... while Matt and Nick can get themselves some wins to climb the rankings, starting at Double or Nothing against these guys... The Acclaimed enter the ring accompanied by Billy Gunn with big smiles on their faces as The EVPs don't look too happy. Austin smirks and sarcastically wishes The EVPs good luck for Double or Nothing. 74 v AEW LEAGUE Black Lotus (Jamie Hayter (Women's World champion) & Kris Statlander) v Team WooItsNathan (Anna Jay & Diamanté) A good match and Black Lotus were too good for Team WooItsNathan and duly picked up three points in 7:30 when Hayter pinned Diamanté with a Curb Stomp. 57 Hayter and Statlander benefitted from public support. Renee Paquette is backstage with Jordynne Grace and the TBS champion Ruby Soho. Renee says Jordynne asked for this time, the floor is hers... Grace says she has been busting her ass and kicking serious ass since she got here, so she wants a shot at Ruby Soho and the TBS Championship... Soho stands up to the challenge from Grace and accepts the title challenge for next week. 59 v FTW CHAMPIONSHIP Hook (champion) v Boulder (with Bronson and Jacked Jameson) Hook was up against it numbers wise, but he had answers for his much bigger opponents when The Iron Savages when he T-Bone Suplexed each of them one after another, an impressive sight. This led to a successful defence in 8:22 by submission with a Red Rum. 46 Both men rated 46 Hook benefitted from public support. We go to the arena service area where we see Penta El Cero Miedo in the midst of a fight with Darby Allin. Their respective tag team partners Rey Fénix and Sting arrive on scene, as does Alex Abrahantes and the three manage to break up the fight, though tensions are clearly rising ahead of the World Tag Team Championship rematch at Double or Nothing. 71 v AEW LEAGUE TV Network (Trinity) v The Golden Lion Club (Ruby Soho (TBS champion)) A really good match and one where Trinity caused a lot of trouble for the reigning but not defending TBS champion. Ruby withstood Trinity's offence and managed to sneak the win in 10:55 by pinfall with a Destination Unknown. 61 Trinity out performed Soho 63-52 Trinity benefitted from public support. Staying with the AEW League, Lexy Nair is backstage for her latest AEW League Report. Her guests for this edition are The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society. Danielson says that with the wealth of talent on their team, it's frustrating they haven't had more wins and aren't higher up the league... Kingston remarks he even buried the hatchet with Danielson for the good of the team... Moxley says they always work hard and fight hard... and Deeb says the women match the men's work rate and agrees with Danielson that they should have more wins. 66 v Timeless Ensemble (Orange Cassidy & Sami Zayn) v The Spooky Club (Satnam Singh (with Sonjay Dutt) & Sting) A good match even though it proved comfortable for Timeless Ensemble, who won in 6:34 when Zayn pinned Sting with a Brainbuster. 61 Singh performed worse than everyone else (22, next worst Sting 40) Sting seemed off his game. Singh and Sting have zero chemistry. Cassidy benefitted from a hot new move. Zayn really shone in the match and benefitted from public support. Alex Marvez is in the backstage interview area and he one by one introduces the final four women to enter the Casino Battle Royal... Anna Jay... Nyla Rose... Saraya... and Abadon... the mood gets eerily chilly when Abadon enters the set, even Nyla Rose isn't really sure what to make of her. 40 v AEW LEAGUE The Peak of Perfection (Thunder Rosa) v Team Swerve (Mercedes Moné) A very good match, quite probably the best women's match in AEW this year. Both women gave their all and looked really good, though Moné got the victory in 15:27 by submission with a Bank Statement. 69 - match of the night Moné out performed Rosa 73-63 Top Flight and Action Andretti are backstage, sneaking around. They come across members of LAX Sammy Guevara, El Hijo del Vikingo and Dralistico... they wait a moment to see if any other members of LAX are around... it seems not as the Martins and Andretti launch an attack, and leave the isolated members of LAX lying on the concrete. 31 v OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Adam Cole v Darius Martin The long awaited return to the AEW ring of Adam Cole and a number of injuries. He looked good, he'd clearly worked hard in rehab and getting ready for his comeback match. Martin was no pushover mind and the two had a good match. Cole prevailed in the end in 12:11 by pinfall with The Boom. 66 Cole out performed Martin 68-54 Backstage and MJF has his bags packed and is heading towards the arena exit where he comes across fellow former World champion Samoa Joe. MJF says that Joe is the Joker in the Casino Battle Royal... which he says is ironic as he always knew Joe was a joke... Joe says that's real clever and remarks that MJF has always thought himself as a comedian... Joe says he is winning the Casino Battle Royal and getting his title back... MJF says he doesn't care if he enters first... as he knows he is better than everyone... and you know it. 70 v Claudio Castagnoli (World Trios champion, with Bryan Danielson) v Will Ospreay The World champion Bryan Danielson is at ringside for this one, though he doesn't physically interfere. He does support his Blackpool Combat Club team mate as well as scout his Double or Nothing challenger. In terms of the match itself, it was good, but a little disappointing. Many observers expected better. Ospreay got the win in 17:50 by pinfall with a Storm Breaker. 67 Castagnoli 61, Ospreay 72 Show rating: 68 AEW increased popularity in 4 regions AEW lost popularity in 1 region Attendance: 5,750 TV rating: 1.22 (915,652 viewers and 1,302,536 overall) Collision drew the 3rd highest AEW crowd in 2024. Nobby_McDonald
PRE SHOW Jacked Jameson beat Alex Reynolds in 7:30 by pinfall. 37 DYNAMITE Wednesday, week 4, May 2024 CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario, Canada (5,000 capacity) Announcers: Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone We start the show with The Elite standing across the ring from Steve Austin and his men - Kenny Omega, Drew Galloway and Eddie Kingston. Despite being out numbered, The EVPs and Adam Page don't seem to concerned as they have a war of words with their enemies... it soon becomes clear as behind Austin, Omega, Galloway and Kingston have appeared Jack Perry and Jake Roberts, each holding large green bags... Everybody knows what is in the bag as Perry and Roberts stand on the apron with large smirks on their faces... Meanwhile Steve Austin has begun to get pissed off as while he has been telling The Elite that his men will open up some whoop ass, Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson and Adam Page and begun laughing... and then leave the ring... Austin is pissed, shouting at them to grow some balls and get back in the ring... and then Perry and Roberts empty their bags into the ring... It's no surprise that snakes come out of the bag, what is a surprise is how many as at least a dozen snakes start to slither around the ring... Suddenly Austin, Omega, Galloway and Kingston completely different problem to deal with as the snakes start to slide around their feet and legs. The four shakes of the snakes and get out of the ring... but The Elite, Jack Perry and Jake Roberts have already left ringside by the time Austin and his men have got themselves back together. 65 Steve Austin looked good. Jack Perry looked dreadful. v AEW LEAGUE The Spooky Club (Satnam Singh (with Sonjay Dutt), Malakai Black & Danhausen) v The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society (Bryan Danielson (World champion), Jon Moxley (World Trios champion) & Eddie Kingston) A decent match yet very one sided. BDAS got an easy win in 5:59 when Moxley submitted Singh with a Bulldog Choke. 67 Singh was far worse than everybody else (25, next best Danhausen 46) Danielson really stood out Danhausen benefitted from public support. Renee Paquette is backstage with the tag teams of Best Friends and Big Bill and Ricky Starks. She thanks the teams for agreeing to no physicality and says the two teams will meet on Sunday at Double or Nothing... Best Friends say they are one of the AEW original teams and it's about time they went on a run to try and win the big one... Starks rebutts them, saying he and Bill are former champions who know how to be the top dogs... which Best Friends don't. 61 v OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Kota Ibushi v Jimmy Jacobs The long, long awaited debut of Kota Ibushi who having recovered from ankle surgery faces Jimmy Jacobs who rarely even wrestles now. Who would have ever thought we would see this match? That's the joy of the random draw of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Ibushi did pretty good considering his very long absence, though he did look rusty which is understandable. Even so, he still got a comfortable win in 6:03 by pinfall with a Kamigoye. 53 Ibushi out performed Jacobs 57-45 Ibushi suffered from being in extremely poor form. Backstage we see Christian Cage with Killswitch and Nick Wayne. Cage says it's the Casino Battle Royal on Sunday night and he is going to rip through everybody and get the World Championship match at All In London. 71 v TNT CHAMPIONSHIP COPE OPEN Adam Copeland (champion) v Evil Uno (with Alex Reynolds, John Silver and Preston Vance) A good match and one where despite the clear numbers disadvantage, Copeland stayed focused and was comfortably the better man in the ring. The win duly came in 7:22 by pinfall with a Spear. 70 Copeland out performed Uno 74-56 The Peak of Perfection are with Lexy Nair for her AEW League Report... The team are in a bouyant mood with Jay White saying they are delighted at being top of the table by three points... Drew Galloway warns that they can't get complacement, three points is one win so one defeat and they could drop back into a tie... MJF tells him not to be a party pooper, they will have a big party when they win the league... while Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo are united in winning points in the women's matches (how different to real life!) 65 v AEW LEAGUE Team WooItsNathan (The Butcher) v Black Lotus (Miro) A hard hitting match between two beasts of men that was well received. Miro came out on top in 10:09 by submission with a Game Over. 55 Butcher and Miro don't click which led to an awkward bout. Top Flight and Action Andretti are at the catering table when Konnan approaches them... Konnan says he saw what happened on Collision last week when the Martins and Andretti took out members of LAX... he carries on by telling the high flying trio that an attack like that only unites a gang further and that prompts LAX, all the members (Rush, Santana, Ortiz, Guevara, Vikingo and Dralistico) to launch a vicious attack on their Double or Nothing opponents, striking them with whatever catering equipment they can lay their hands on and ultimately putting Top Flight and Andretti through the catering tables. 46 v AEW LEAGUE The Golden Lion Club (Ruby Soho (TBS champion) & Athena) v TV Network (Trinity & Tessa Blanchard) A good, even match where it was difficult to seperate the teams as the action went back and forth, and for a good while. TV Network got a morale boosting win in 14:27 when Trinity pinned Soho with a Nightmare. 60 Athena benefitted from being in amazing form. Trinity benefitted from public support. Alex Marvez is backstage with Samoa Joe... Marvez introduces Joe as the Joker for the Casino Battle Royal... Joe says that normally Marvez would be on his ass for tagging Joe as a Joker... but this one time Joe actually wants to be the Joker as it sends him out last with the Wildcard on Sunday night... and he's going to win the battle royal and punch his ticket to All In London so he can win back his World Championship. 64 v Darby Allin (with Sting) v Penta El Cero Miedo (World Tag Team champion, with Rey Fénix and Alex Abrahantes) Some great action and a receptive crowd as two like no others put on a show. Their respective partners are ringside played support roles very well without getting physical in the action. Penta took the win in 15:20 by pinfall with a Made in Japan. 75 Will Ospreay comes out to the ring and calls out the World champion Bryan Danielson... Danielson comes out and the two have an intense stare down straight away... Ospreay tells Danielson he's coming for the title bruv... Danielson says he will take it over his dead body... The two refrain from physicality as the crowd lap it up and start a "Yes" chant. 70 v AEW LEAGUE Timeless Ensemble (Kenny Omega) v Team Swerve (Swerve Strickland) A superb match to top off a very good show. Timeless Ensemble need the three points to stay in the thick of it at the top end of the league while Team Swerve are fighting for pride, and for Swerve individually trying to get himself back in the World Championship picture. Despite the snakes incident at the start of Dynamite, Omega was focused on the match as the two battled back and forth. Team Swerve got the win and dented Timeless Ensemble's league challenge (though they have had less matches than the other teams challenging for the inaugural championship), with Swerve winning in 18:29 by pinfall with a Swerve Stomp. 77 - match of the night Omega 78, Strickland 74 Show rating: 74 AEW increased popularity in 24 regions Attendance: 4,849 TV rating: 1.37 (1,034,549 viewers and 1,817,302 overall) Dynamite was AEW's 4th best show in 2024. Nobby_McDonald
PRE SHOW Dante Martin beat Jake Hager in 9:05 by pinfall with a 450 Splash. 55 RAMPAGE Wednesday, week 3, June 2024 Broadcast on Friday, week 3, June 2024 CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario, Canada (5,000 capacity) Announce team: Don Callis, Excalibur & Paul Wight Athena starts the show with Renee Paquette. Renee asks Athena for her comments ahead of tonight’s main event, her Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Second Round match against Thunder Rosa… Athena says that a few weeks ago she gambled everything… her ROH Women’s World Championship… to be in The Big Gamble… and lost… so she needs to make a name for herself in AEW and will to do by going all the way in the Owen Hart tournament. 50 Nyla Rosa (with Marina Shafir) v Billie Starkz Not the best match, but a surprise as Starkz upset the former Women’s World champion in 9:30 by pinfall with a fast roll up and was good value for the win as well. 45 Backstage and The Boys challenge Private Party to a match next week, saying they want a shot to prove themselves in AEW. Private Party accept, saying the only shot they have are shots at the party. 26 Preston Vance (with Alex Reynolds, John Silver and Evil Uno) v Bandido Lacklustre in action, Bandido looked the better of the two, but it was Vance who got the win in 9:14 by pinfall with a Pounce. 51 Bandido out performed Vance 55-38 Thunder Rosa is now with Renee Paquette. Renee asks for Rosa’s response to Athena earlier… Rosa says she is a former Women’s World champion so she knows what it takes to be the best… and the best is going to win the Owen Hart tournament. 59 OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN’S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Danhausen v Kyle O’Reilly A decent match thanks mainly to the recently returned O’Reilly’s technical wrestling, though Danhausen played the more comic role well. Try as he might to put a curse on his opponent he couldn’t and ultimately O’Reilly simply out wrestled his opponent to advance in 9:17 by submission with an Ankle Lock. 55 O’Reilly out performed Danhausen 61-42 In the locker room, Taya Valkyrie challenges Riho to a match next week, which the inaugural Women’s World champion accepts. 42 v OWEN HART FOUNDATION WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT SECOND ROUND Athena v Thunder Rosa (with Konnan) A decent match that Rosa largely had control off, though the opportunity to go through slipped through her fingers as Athena got the win in 13:40 by pinfall with a Top Rope Stunner. 60 – match of the night Athena 50, Rosa 62 Athena benefitted from being in amazing form. Nobby_McDonald
PRE SHOW Big Bill beat Bandido in 6:41 by pinfall with an East River Crossing. 54 COLLISION Saturday, week 4, May 2024 GFL Memorial Gardens, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada (4,928 capacity) Announcers: Nigel McGuinness, Taz and Tony Schiavone Collision starts in the backstage interview area where Renee Paquette is with Miro... Renee asks him his thoughts ahead of the Casino Battle Royal tomorrow night at Double or Nothing... Miro says it's time for redemption and he will be the one standing at the end to earn the World Championship match at All In London. 60 v AEW LEAGUE Team WooItsNathan (Anna Jay) v Team Swerve (Rosemary) Not a good match, the action wasn't good and the crowd weren't really into it. Despite having less of the match, Jay picked up Team WooItsNathan's second win of the season in 7:07 by pinfall with a Scissors Kick. 31 Rosemary out performed Jay 45-35 A video plays where we see The Acclaimed perform a rap on The EVPs with Billy Gunn in the background ahead of their tag team match at Double or Nothing tomorrow night. Caster and Bowens mock their fashion style, their hair and their ring work amongst other things. 64 Bowens and Caster benefitted from public support. v Dr Britt Baker D.M.D. (with Rebel and Jamie Hayter) v Tessa Blanchard A decent match and one where it was tough to seperate the two women. It was Blanchard who picked up her biggest win in AEW since her arrival in 10:11 by pinfall with a Piledriver. 47 In the parking lot, we see MJF laying into Samoa Joe. First he attacks the back of Joe's legs with a crowbar before slamming him onto the hood of a white car before throwing the crowbar at Joe's head. Luckily Joe rolled out of the way and the crowbar wedges in the car's windshield. Security and AEW officials arrive to seperate the two before the violence escalates even more. 73 v AEW LEAGUE TV Network (Jay Lethal & Johnny TV) v The Peak of Perfection (MJF & Jay White) The second league action of the night and a much better match than the first one. The Peak of Perfection proved too good for TV Network and the win duly followed in 11:45 when MJF pinned TV with a Heat Seeker. 68 MJF out performed everybody else (76, next best White 65) TV seemed off his game. Lethal and TV have excellent chemistry. Staying with the AEW League, here is Lexy Nair with The Golden Lion Club for the AEW League Report...
