DOTT: Which new workers were not included?

Recommended Posts

Like I told D. Boon, he shouldn't need to worry himself too much with adding new workers. So, I'm wondering who else should be included to the New Workers section of the mod (whether it's from the 80s, 90s, or 2000s)? I want to add as many relevant new workers as possible. I also have a question about if it is possible to start a game but decide to add a new worker to the database while the game is in progress if the new worker will be reflected in the current game?

Other than that, Brock Lesnar, Shelton Benjamin, the Haas brothers, maybe the Second City Saints would all be cool. EDIT: Also some more women would be cool, such as Trish Stratus, Victoria, Ayako Hamada, Mariko Yoshida, etc.

Thanks. The only negative is that new workers cannot be imported from other databases. That would be great if you could import but Adam already stated it is not possible, apparently. I'm basically just going to copy the stats from current mods for new workers to DOTT. Although, it won't be too realistic as The Rock, for instance, didn't start off as the most electrifying man in sports entertainment in his debut but you can't make everything realistic.

I've done it alot last year with other files...

Although, it won't be too realistic as The Rock, for instance, didn't start off as the most electrifying man in sports entertainment in his debut but you can't make everything realistic.
If your seriously considering this project, I suggest you take a deeper look at it. For one thing, The Rock is already a new worker in DOTT. DOTT stats are not equivalent to FOTORC, or T-Zone, or most other's. However, each of those games stats balance in their respective Mod. Meaning that the Rock's stats in FOTORC balance with the rest of the worker's in FOTORC (or should), however, they wouldn't balance in say T-Zone. They tested DOTT pretty well, so what I would seriously do... Is use the New Worker's already in there as your base. As you add other people to THAT base, even if your going to use another Mods stats, you should use the DOTT as a base, and come up with a conclusion on how to keep them balanced in DOTT Data. For example, lets keep using The Rock as an example.. his skillset in DOTT is between 20 and 80%, the higher one's being things such as power, Superstar Quality, Charisma.. while the lower one's are his actual wrestling abilities (he is green still). In the old FOTORC dataset, he is much higher in most wrestling abilities (around 50 to 100%), as well has been able to increase on Charisma and other stats as well. All together around a 30% difference in wrestling stats (although some are lower, like say High Flying abilities), and maybe 3 to 10% in the other abilities (Acting, Charisma, etc). Of course his Popularity is much different as well. Similar things if you were to look at Steve Austin. Using the people you know for sure in the New Worker's area, and comparing them with whatever database your going to use as a standard for creating new worker's, adjust them properly to fit the New Worker area already in place for DOTT. If you ignore this, what can and most likely will happen, is the DOTT scenario will fall apart. For example... Someone like RVD coming in as a rookie, with too much overness, he will never really be a rookie will he? All I'm saying, is whoever you import "as is" will come into DOTT as THE PEOPLE to aquire. Already Main Event material, and so ruining the balance of the other promotions status, as they are bound to do just as WE the people playing would do, and try and grab all the "so called" rookies. Pluss, it would take away the whole struggle that this Mod Offer's in abundance. So while I am glad someone is showing an interest in improving the database by adding new worker's to the data, I am very hesitant to actually want one done in the exact discriptive way you were thinking of doing it. However, if you were to take advice (especially from the people that did the data for DOTT), and approach it wanting to seriously improve upon the New Worker area, not just add a bunch of favorites that are already over, I would be all for it. By the way, just in case I haven't totally knocked the fun out of doing this, and you actually like the little advice I gave you... I want Chyna in it Dammit... I don't care... I want to bring in the Original DX one day, lol. Ok, nuff said.
Couldnt you "hack" the game? go through the save fame files, find out which one is the new workers file, and rename a copy of the file from the editor? make sense? I've done it alot last year with other files...
If your suggesting being able to use Worker's and New worker's.. the Answer is no. However, someone posted how to add to the New Worker area (simulating the import process) by using a Hex Editor. However, someone with a little more knowledge on programs also warned, that you could totally corrupt the data and game engine of TEW if you make one mistake. However, on that note, since there is no way to import new worker's in the game (Adam said for sure this wasn't possible), from one mod to another. Maybe someone would suggest the ability to import into the New Worker area from the regular worker area. In this way you could import people to the new worker area and then copy past the new worker's to the database you want them in, and then adjust the stats and overness for it. However, I'm not going to be that person to ask, since it sounds like it's just not possible to do anything really, with the New Worker's area, outside of just adding them in one at a time, like we do now. Probably the best thing to do, is for someone down the line to try and make a new database subset, for modder's to use how they wish. A mod with all the workers as New workers, and for people to adjust the stats how they see fit.
That would be great if you could import but Adam already stated it is not possible, apparently.
It's not currently possible, I am still working on a solution. I would suggest you at least wait for 1.3 to be released to see if I can get it done for then. I would suggest avoiding the hex editor method unless you absolutely know for sure what you are doing - what the person who came up with that method forgot was that while you can move the data across, it completely misses out any error checking or database standardisation, which means if you introduce any problems, you're going to mess up your database. Those checks are what the problem is, and always has been, not the actual moving of data.

Let's hope it works with 1.3.

Only use the nex editor to "import" new workers into the actually out-of-game database. Do not attempt to import into your save via this method, as you will likely corrupt your game. I only suggested that the hex editor be used for the standard database outside the actual game itself, not for importing into a game that has already begun. Other than that, as Mr. Ryland said, only attempt it if you absolutely know what you're doing and how to use the hex editor for the data files. If you have any doubt whatsoever, you shouldn't even consider it, hands down. P.S. Mariko Yoshida and the Rock are already in the new workers section of DOTT.

Jason Knight 1984 Michael Fury/Big Guido 1984 Jim Korderas 1985 Steve Blackman 1986 Cutie Suzuki 1986 Chris Hamrick 1986........
This list is incomplete... You left out everyone that debuted before 1984!!!! I know, your thinking DOTT right? Well, we've been having a side discussion on maybe something even earlier, don't you remember? LOL. Thanks Dolfanar, that list is HUGE!!
Krissy Vaine 2001
You get bonus points. I've met her before, and seen her matches and managerial work before she was really that well known. Very nice person, and a surprisingly good chain wrestler for someone whose original role in the business was "stand around and look pretty." EDIT: I'd also suggest Ric Converse. I believe he's the current AWA champion, but whether he is or isn't he's a good wrestler and pretty charismatic.

That's an awesome list, but I did notice one omission that probably ought to be in there (well, okay, one that at least I think belongs in there) Rick Michaels, 3x former NWA World Tag Team champion (w/David Young, as Bad Attitude) and an early trainer of several of the people already on the list, including AJ Styles & Jimmy Rave. His particulars can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Michaels
