    WCW WEEKLY RUMBLINGS

    Extended Deals And Signings

-With Eric Bischoff now at the helm of World Championship Wrestling, everyone can expect some changes. Some of them are positive and some of them are negative. Here we can report that Terry Taylor extended his deal and that former WCW/NWA wrestler 'White Lightning' Tim Horner has signed with the company. Rumors are that he will be re-forming the team known as The Lightning Express with Brad Armstrong. Other signings have been made but have not been announced by WCW as of press time.

Tag Team Wrestling On The Rise?

-A recent interview with Eric Bischoff has him announcing that he is going to put an increased focus on tag team wrestling as part of the future of WCW. Right now WCW has several tag teams looking to work their way up the rankings, including the team of Booker T and Stevie Ray who are known as Harlem Heat. Other teams include the Bad Attitude pairing of Bobby Eaton and Steve Keirn, the Pretty Wonderful duo of Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma, the Stars 'N' Stripes team which includes The Patriot and Marcus Bagwell and, of course, the WCW World Tag Team champions Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan. Rumor has it that more teams will be coming to WCW as the weeks and months push forward.

    WWF Monday Night Raw Taping

-In the main event for this company, Razor Ramon defeated Diesel in a 'B' rated match. The only other match on the card was The New Foundation defeating Men On A Mission. They also had a skit involving The Undertaker and Randy Savage. Overall, Monday Night Raw scores a 'B+' on the Ryland scale.

    ECW Hardcore TV Taping

-In the main event for ECW Hardcore TV, The Sandman teams with 2 Cold Scorpio to defeat Sabu and Ron Harris in a 'B-' rated match. Other matches on the card included Dory Funk Jr. defeating WCW wrestler Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck defeating Big Tilly. Other moments on the card included a brawl between Cactus Jack, Shane Douglas and Terry Funk and a confrontation between Jimmy Snuka and Johnny Grunge. The show scores a 'C+' on the Ryland scale.

    WCW Saturday Night TV Taping

-Make sure you come tonight for the taping of WCW Saturday Night! Announced matches so far include Terry Funk taking on 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright, Lord Steven Regal defending the WCW World Television title against Scott Stud, Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan defending the WCW World Tag Team titles against the long-time pairing of The State Patrol, Jean-Paul Levesque in action and a non title match between WCW United States Heavyweight champion 'Stunning' Steve Austin and the WCW Franchise Sting! Plus more, including an appearance by the WCW World Champion Ric Flair and one of the newest signings to WCW, 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan!

I don't know much about the whole Japanese scene, however, I do know that you are creative and an excellent writer. That can be enough for me.</p>
  7. <p>Looking forward to a bunch of the diaries mentioned here. Welcome to the Coastal Zone is an institution here on the GDS boards. Phantom Stranger is a legend. 8 Rings Of Wrestling looks to be a lot of fun, though a difficult undertaking. Ohiodevil has done a great job with USPW in the TEW 2010 diary section.</p><p> </p><p>

As far as my own plans go, as of right now I am thinking about running with what I believe will be a very interesting story. It will be more fleshed out in the diary, however, the story begins with a heated argument between Christian Faith and Richard Eisen over Christian needing to scale back his schedule. The argument ends with Richard firing Christian Faith from SWF. This leads to the superstar looking to get revenge on the company he feels has turned his back on him after many faithful years of service. How better to get revenge than to join their enemies. He knows his body cannot take the pain of wrestling in TCW. This leaves one specific promotion open.</p><p> </p><p>

United States Pro Wrestling Has Faith.</p>

  8. How about the man who is running the Aces And Eights being Raven? Granted, he hasn't been around since 2010. However, the whole Dead Man's Hand seems to fit his gimmick. He is a really smart guy in real life (MENSA material). He seems like he would be into the whole biker lifestyle. And he lost to Jeff Hardy in a match where he had to leave TNA and Jeff Hardy is now the World champ.
  9. I'm torn, I don't want Undertaker to beat Punk for the title or be champion at all, but I don't want Punk to end the streak.

I think Punk and Taker could tear the house down majorly though.

That first part is kind of my point. There was never any threat to the streak being ended by Shawn Michaels or Triple H these last few years, IMHO. But with this scenario, it lends itself to a true threat of the streak being ended. It lines people up on both sides of the equation. And if the WWE wanted UT to win but not hold the title, could always have him retire and vacate the belt afterward. But this truly gives a threat to the streak that I haven't felt in a long time.

  10. This is slightly random and doesn't fit in with the topic at hand but this is the WWE thread, after all.

How about at WrestleMania 29, we have The Undertaker defend his streak against...CM Punk?!?! Here's how it happens.

CM Punk keeps his title over the next few months, cementing his heel status and talking about wanting respect, etc. Then he goes against The Rock at Royal Rumble. The match is even, back and forth. The end comes as CM Punk goes for the GTS but The Rock reverses into a Rock Bottom. Rock covers but the referee has been knocked down so there's no pinfall. John Cena attacks The Rock, hitting the AA and CM Punk retains his title. That same night, the Deadman returns at the Royal Rumble, winning the Royal Rumble itself. The following night on Raw he makes his choice to face the man who wants 'respect.' If CM Punk wants respect, he'll have the chance to earn it in the Deadman's Playground at WrestleMania.

    Thoughts?

  11. For those of you who are in the 48 contiguous states of the United States, make sure you sign up for the Direct Auto Insurance Bound For Glory Fly Away Sweepstakes. Last year, I won the BFG Fly Away Sweepstakes sponsored by Circle K and it was a blast. I got to go to a reception the first night, the fan fest on that Saturday, a breakfast the Sunday of the pay-per-view plus two tickets in the second row of Bound For Glory last year. They flew me out, paid for the hotel, paid for the transportation to get to the arena and back. It is so much fun. I, of course, am already signed up this year as well. I am hoping to have the same luck I had last year. But if I don't win, I would love to have someone else from the Grey Dog Software family go. The link is here.

  12. According to ewrestlingnews.com, Brian Kendrick is gone from TNA.

Kinda bummed, but at the same time I really hated that guru gimmick. I wish he had just played The Brian Kendrick again.

When I went to the BFG Fan Fest, he signed my autograph book as The Brian Kendrick. He seemed like a really good guy. Hope he heads back to the 'E.'

  14. That was pretty cool, you seemed very calm during that interview. I know if I was standing next to So Cal Val, well first I would be drooling and then I would just stare into the camera like a deer caught in headlights.

Amen to that. I'd throw her over my shoulder and try to make a run for it out of the building, hoping the security would be mostly fatties that day.

Thanks a lot guys! And I thought about that with Val. lol. But it does help that I talked with her multiple times during the weekend, including a long conversation at the reception when I first got there. She is definitely one of the hottest women I've ever seen in person, though. One of my greatest memories there, though, is that she actually remembered my name throughout the entire weekend.

  15. I know that I hear a lot of these bad things about Bound For Glory, but it was an amazing show live. I killed my voice screaming and shouting for my favorites. lol. There was a definite Austin Aries chant during his match and a few ECW chants sprinkled throughout the show. The Hulk Hogan turn was amazing live and felt to me like being there at Bash At The Beach 1996 when he turned bad. When Mr. Anderson set Bully Ray on the table and went to the apron, I began a 'Kenton Bomb' chant and it seemed to me like he looked my way. It could be just me, though.

The Fan Fest weekend was absolutely awesome. We had a reception on Friday night with guys like James Storm, Jeff and Karen Jarrett and Jeremony Borash showing up. Then the Fan Fest came and it was great to get autographs and pictures taken with guys like Rob Van Dam, Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, Mr. Anderson, Bully Ray, etc. Then came the breakfast where Traci Brooks, Kazarian, Christopher Daniels and Mexican America all showed up.

Then before the show my guest, myself and the other contest winners had a meet and greet with Matt Morgan, Traci Brooks and Kazarian before we were taken down to the backstage area. We had interviews done with So Cal Val and as soon as they are posted on the website I will post the link here. So Cal Val is definitely a gorgeous woman.

All in all, it was an amazing once in a lifetime experience.
