The WCW creative meeting isn't too much different from the one I had posted back a few months ago, but next time I post rosters (which I figure will probably be around the Great American Bash?) I will probably have had enough turnover that I'll post it up again.</p><p> </p><p> A few names have been purposely left off the lists as they had not debuted in either company officially yet. Since it should come as pretty much known knowledge the way I wrote the narrative, DDP is most definitely with the WWF now, but his debut is being saved for a big moment.</p><p> </p><p> There are a bunch of names from the WCW list who aren't listed anymore, such as the Mamalukes and 3 Count. Unless I've noted it specifically in one of Eric's thoughts, they are not released and their contract hasn't run out; I sent them down to Wildside.</p>
  5. <p>Shawn/Pillman</p><p> Raven</p><p> Bulldog</p><p> Southern Justice</p><p> Ahmed Johnson - <em>He's fallen pretty far given you've gained a more entertaining version of him in Scott Steiner, but a few choice wins could build him right back up.</em></p><p> Kliq - <em>Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Hardys too. A team that seems like just the right amount of pushover, but they end up fighting back really well.</em></p>
  6. Big Bang Aftershocks From the desk of Eric Bischoff: It was a pretty wild week, finally getting the relaunch of World Championship Wrestling running. Judging from the reaction of the live crowd and the internet sites afterwards, it seems like it was a hit thus far; now I have to keep that momentum going, if we are to make a quest for our lost glory. I let everyone know just that before the show, with some leaving the room feeling as though they’d been given some sort of “psycho sermon”. I don’t care what they call it, as long as it gives me results. The opening match both retired two titles and introduced a new one, as I phased out the Cruiserweight and Hardcore championships and brought in the new “no limits” X Division belt. It isn’t a perfect merger of the two titles that are gone, but saying that it’s all about “no limits” is something I feel we can have some fun with in the future. For now, however, I gave it to Rey as the first champ because it was a way to make up to him that we had promised he and Kidman Cruiserweight Tag Team titles. But I realized that our cruiserweight division couldn’t really support two divisions, especially one that had to feature four of them at a time. But this will mean nobody can complain about if we have to fudge someone’s weight, and people who are bigger than 225 but fit that sort of style can compete for it. I think fans will be generally receptive to some of the plans that I have set in motion. As for the Hardcore title, well… Shane was doing great as the champ, but the title was way lower than he is. Fans called it a copycat title of the WWF’s version all along, so erasing it erases that stigma of being “junior WWF” like how Russo wanted WCW. The WCW Panel was meant to be a staple of the brand new WCW Worldwide. Unfortunately, since I am currently unable to shop around for a network to air Worldwide because no broadcaster in this universe is willing to negotiate a show until three months after I’ve gotten another show, that means the Panel idea has to be shoehorned into my future Nitro and pay-per-view broadcasts. They do give a nice break for the live and home crowds if I put them on at the end of the first hour or so, and I plan on having them on the pay-per-view pre-shows and post-shows to do recaps, wrap-ups, and potentially announcements for the following week. Giving Tony his own panel to lead was the only way I got him to agree to step down from being our lead announcer and finally give it to Mike, who is in general a better announcer and someone who is a way better influence on our backstage. Hell, Schiavone has gotten in more backstage trouble than even Scott Steiner within this year so far; too much more of that and I’ll be giving the lead role of the panel to someone who doesn’t cause stupid pranks. And yes, Gene is fully aware that Jeremy Borash is being groomed to replace him eventually, but at his age, he is alright with that; once Jeremy is up to snuff, then Gene can stop standing there holding microphones and just helping with the panel until he finally hangs his microphone up for good. The show only had one hitch all night, and it came from the strangest of people: Booker T. My initial plans had seen him losing to Lance Storm again, tapping out in the arm lock. I had to ask Lance to protect Booker pretty hard in order to get that loss to go through on Thunder, but this time, Booker just wasn’t having it. I really don’t want to feel like I’m playing a politics game anymore, but honestly I think it was only because Booker felt he’d be losing to a team featuring Elix Skipper. Well, Booker is one of our bigger, brightest, and youngest main eventers right now, and I didn’t feel like I could afford him being upset at me on the first night of our relaunch. With this in mind, I made it clear that Lance was to be kept strong in the match then, hence the closing moments which saw Booker tapping out with no official. I have to change my original plans slightly, but I feel I can make this change work out well enough. During Big Bang, I saw Paul Orndorff working with some of his former Power Plant students again. He was teaching Jindrak and O’Haire a little more about using the microphone, and showing Yang some pointers on being a successful babyface. I find that a little funny given “Mr. Wonderful” was never known for his babyface work. Don’t get me wrong, he was solid enough as a good guy, but he was a natural as a heel. Kevin Nash told me that he thinks Chavo Guerrero Jr. is one more vanilla midget who couldn’t get crowds of dogs to follow him if he was wearing Milkbone underwear. But Bill DeMott said that AJ Styles is really looking to be a good worker, and that the kid is worth getting behind. After the cameras were off, I got the boys together to tell them I was pleased with how the show turned out. I especially praised Scott Steiner for his great performance in the main event (with Scott saying “You damn right you’re impressed!”), pointed out Ric Flair again for his continued great role as our on-screen authority figure (Flair was pleased with this, but still continues to give me sideways glances every chance he can), and complimented Lance Storm for holding the eight man tag together so well. He was pretty surprised to be given such praise, and seemed pleased to get called out positively. “The Nature Boy” called me up the next day, saying that he felt like he wasn’t making enough money to justify how popular he had become again with the fans. He even used my own words against me, saying that I keep telling people what a great job he has been doing. I told him that I had no problem paying my top workers, trying to ease his ego a little bit. That was until he asked for a $13,190 raise! I thought quickly, telling him that I did appreciate how he hasn’t dogged any performances because he wants to be in the ring instead of just an authority figure role, but that I couldn’t do all of that because of the financial state of the company. But with some calculations, I got him to agree to $9,892, seventy-five percent of what he was asking for initially. He agreed and seemed pleased about it, and he should be; at $33,692, he’s making a fairly solid chunk of money per month, albeit not nearly as much as the guys like Goldberg, Sting, or Buff Bagwell. The WWF saw a small signing spree this past week, which wouldn’t bother me except that a lot of the guys were some who I was targeting to bring into WCW and the new X Division. A lot of them I had gotten into contact with, but then a few days later I was seeing them announce that they were joining either OVW or HWA. Guys like Shawn Hernandez, Joey Matthews and Christian York, Guido Maritato, Nova, EZ Money, Chris Chetti… I had wanted them all, but apparently Vince sunk his teeth into them harder than I could. I’m not sure if he’s just screwing with me or it’s all coincidence, but if it is his purposeful doing, then karma got him back on Raw. The internet was abuzz with the news that K-Kwik suffered a majorly dislocated shoulder during a pre-show match with Tazz, of nobody’s fault but it will probably keep him out for the majority of his current contract. But Kwik has only been a jobber to the stars at best; not a huge loss. However, during the match against Matt Hardy, Tag Team champion Christian suffered a shattered knee after a bad spill out of the ring. Initial reports were that he could be out until sometime into 2002, but a successful surgery saw that time drastically reduced. Fortunately, I was able to make a few of the contract offers stick. Jimmy Hart has joined us; I sent him to work with the kids at Wildside, but the bigger upside of that is getting his continued work with our entrance music. A few other people were signed to go straight into Wildside, but I have three people to debut within the next month. One of them came from ECW, when I told him that he could potentially be a new cornerstone of what is replacing the Cruiserweight division he said that was more than Vince offered him. One is a young Samoan with some fine heritage that we can probably get him over with. And one of them came very, very highly requested by Gabe Saplosky, who I think may have almost strained himself doing a backflip kick when he was given the news. They may not be big names already, but hopefully people around the world will come to know them very soon. The new pay-per-view era of World Championship Wrestling has begun, with a Big Bang. As long as I keep things running smoothly, then they should never end with the same kind of whimper that we nearly did last month. ----------

I will admit to not doing the matches much justice here. I feel like I'm way better off getting rid of it. Dropping the Cruiser title I feel is a little more of a blow, but the X title will allow me to give it a lot more possible challengers than the small amount of cruiserweights that I have available without going on a huge shopping spree for new wrestlers. </p><p> I will admit to copying a little bit of Raven's seven deadly sins ideas and maybe a little bit of TFC's Salvation with Vampiro, not necessarily on purpose but just because the premise are somewhat similar: a dark group of dark individuals who are looking to save/destroy the faces of the company with a lot of flowery speech about darkness and despair and stuff. But at least mine will have a different cast for the most part. </p><p> Goldberg is at 53 wins out of 173. So only 120 jobbers left to run through!</p><p> </p><p> crackerjack: With my erratic posting schedule, I'm a little hurt that more people haven't just subbed to the thread and see it get notifications whenever I do get something posted, that's what I do <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> But I have some solid plans for JB, maybe one day he will be able to host his own little side show, he definitely is doing well shadowing Gene. I have him set up as both managing Gene and used him in both microphone and not rated roles during Big Bang, and just from the few times he was on-screen with the main eventers, he gained about 15 points of overness! So it likely won't be long until this young go-getter will be doing what I plan him for.</p></div></blockquote>
  8. They're back! Can't wait to see how things have "clicked" now. I dig Sid joining up with Hulk too, though with as volatile as Vicious is, that may still end up as a short pairing. The Steiners segment was comic gold too.

For the first show in the new era of World Championship Wrestling, our owner, Eric Bischoff, comes out to the ring with a huge smile on his face and a briefcase in his hand! Mike Tenay says that he can’t think of too many better ways than to start now and find out what the future holds for World Championship Wrestling immediately. The fans have a mixed reaction toward Bischoff – after all, this is the guy who spent years as the heel authority figure, but yet he is apparently the reason we still have a WCW right now, so there’s a lot of baggage in his arrival. As the song fades, a few small chants start up for him first saying “Welcome back,” then “Thank you Eric,” as Bischoff finally speaks, telling the fans no, thank you; thank you for supporting WCW after all this time. He says that never in his wildest dreams would he have thought that they would have been in this position just a few years ago, but a lot of mistakes were made by a lot of people – himself included – but yet the fans have stayed behind their company, and he is humbled by their support. Eric takes a few bows to the four sides of the ring, bowing to the sold out crowd. He continues, telling fans that World Championship Wrestling has been in a pretty bad spot the past year, but now is the time that they need their fans the most. With this in mind, he breaks the news that WCW Nitro will be returning, next Friday night, live from the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas, on pay-per-view! The fans are generally pleased with this news, though I’m sure you can hear a lot of people’s wallets groaning at the idea of the show being on pay-per-view. Eric says that for exact times and broadcasters, check on the brand new WCW.com site, as he informs everyone that Nitro is going to be on in nearly every country of the world in one form or another! But he says that he has tow more things he needs to address before he leaves the show to the wrestlers who bring the fans, and that is to call out one person: “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><iframe width="220" height="180" src="</p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q-BkQS8eYec?rel=0&controls=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q-BkQS8eYec?rel=0&controls=0"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/0f6jrZ3.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Flair comes to the ring wearing one of his finest suits for the re-launch of WCW, and the tension is high as fans remember the problems that these two men have had in the past few years. Flair stops Eric before he continues, saying that he doesn’t know what Eric wants him out here for, if it’s to shake his hand or slap his face and fire him, but Ric just wants to say that while he is skeptical of Bischoff running WCW unchecked, the love he has for this company will never die, and he will fight for it if he has to. Eric lets Ric know that he is right to be skeptical, but that Bischoff has no intentions of running the company unchecked; Eric plans to do most of the behind-the-scenes work, in fact once he leaves the ring tonight he will not be showing up very often on WCW programming. <em>“That’s where I feel you come in, Ric. The boys in the back have great respect for you, the fans have immense respect for you, and you have been steering this ship in the right direction the past few months. I know that it was said that you’d have to give up being the CEO if you were to step into the ring again, but hey – technically, you didn’t have a match on the final Nitro because the bell never got to sound, so by all rights, you are still ‘The Nature Boss’ as far as I am concerned!”</em> The fans cheer at that, and especially cheer when Eric shakes Flair’s hand! With a tear in Ric’s eyes, he thanks Eric and says that he will be keeping an eye on things, and he is going to do the new WCW proud!</p><p> </p><p> With that handled, Eric says that he has only one more bit of business to address, and it is inside this briefcase. He takes a moment to talk about how in 1995, he had a hand in revolutionizing the way people looked at pro wrestling when he instituted the Cruiserweight division. He says that in 1999, the hardcore brand of wrestling was at it’s peak when WCW brought in the Hardcore title. Eric says that pro wrestling is evolving once again, right in this moment; because you don’t have to be under a certain weight to be a cruiserweight anymore, and you don’t have to be a certain kind of person to be hardcore. With this in mind, effective immediately, he is retiring both the Cruiserweight and Hardcore championships. The fans aren’t very pleased at that news, but Eric wins them back by saying that this is the day of no labels, of no limits. With that, he opens the case up and reveals… </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="D0QZBAc.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/D0QZBAc.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> The brand new WCW X Division championship!</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Eric says that the X Division title will be all about the best athlete in the crowd, no matter what they excel in, be it brawling, high flying, or mat wrestling. And in order to crown the new champion, he is going to award the title to one of the men who just lost their titles – Rey Mysterio Jr. or “The Franchise” Shane Douglas! Being that they are both at the top of their game, the lack of time to scout one another didn’t seem to be much of a factor except in a few moments where Mysterio was able to force Douglas out of the ring with a surprise head scissors takedown, while Shane nearly got the win by taking Rey by surprise with a belly to belly suplex when Rey had come off the ropes toward him. Shane did what he could to slow the match to a crawl, keeping Mysterio on the mat as much as possible and working into a figure four leglock to damage Rey’s speed and to take advantage of his well documented knee problems. Tygress on the outside of the ring slapped her hands on the mat to get the South Carolina crowd to cheer Mysterio on, as he finally was able to turn the figure four over and reverse the pressure to force a break. Rey hit a few dropkicks to Shane’s legs, but found himself right on his back again when Shane caught him coming off the ropes with a big powerslam! Charles Robinson only counted a near fall however, and Shane lost his cool for a moment to argue that it was a three count. But it wasn’t, and when he turned back to Mysterio he started setting him up for the Franchiser – but Rey-Rey counters, spinning Shane into a small package that scores the three count, and we have a brand new champion!</p><p> </p><p> “The Franchise” furiously follows Charles Robinson out of the ring to argue with him about the cover, but back in the ring Mysterio is joined by his Filthy Animals teammates, who hoist him on their shoulders as he is presented with the brand new X Division championship title!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 11:47</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: Match deserved better color commentary, but got the crowd buzzing.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Ratings: B- / C-</em></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <hr></details></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/1D13aft.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/QDX2HET.jpg?1</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/C4RidzV.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/3Iw81k1.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/9Bo1juQ.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Back in the interview area, “Mean” Gene Okerlund is thrilled to say that, while it only took the company nearly going out of business for it to happen, he finally has his own “errand boy” introducing his “intern” Jeremy Borash. Jeremy’s first day on the job isn’t all about coffee though, as he is to flank Gene – who tells him to “watch and learn from the best” now – as they are to interview The Steiner Brothers. Gene asks them for some thoughts on the brand new beginning for WCW, and about their main event tag team match tonight. Scott says that the “new beginning of WCW is a new face with a dumb old brain,” making a quick move at Jeremy to make him flinch and then saying that nobody cares about some punk kid and an old man, all “Big Poppa Pump” needs is for them to hold the mic and stand aside so he can let his freaks see all the peaks. Rick says that tonight, they’re going to show that you can give WCW all the facelifts you want, but the Steiner Brothers still run the show, not some flash in the pan like Goldberg or a freak like Sting. Scott finishes flexing for a moment to say that Goldberg should stick to racking up numbers trying to get a title shot, because now that he’s messing with the “Big Bad Booty Daddy” his career is gonna be as over as DDP’s is! He adds that tonight’s Street Fight will be the beginning of WCW but the end for Gold Digger and Stink, because “mean’my’brudder” Rick are ready to rip, smash, and kill!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Scott looked excellent, and he and Gene both worked the crowd well, using the off-script freedom to their advantage. He takes control with a swinging neckbreaker before closing this bout with the Flatliner for the fairly easy pinfall.</p><p> </p><p> But Kanyon’s music is cut off as Ernest “The Cat” Miller comes out to the stage! Miller says that he was in a bad mood tonight as he found out he isn’t the WCW Commissioner anymore, but he was informed that in exchange, he was allowed to get something he wants: a match against Kanyon, because as upset as he is to not be commissioner, he’s even more pissed off that Kanyon brutally attacked and injured Ms. Jones! He says that he will be seeing Kanyon in two weeks on April 22nd at WCW Pride, so Kanyon better call his momma because “The Cat” is gonna whip his ass! Kanyon doesn’t take this lying down however, saying that he wanted to get Miller in the ring all along, so all he’s doing is giving him what he wanted: a chance to force Miller to say that Kanyon is better than him! Gene asks Booker for why he has come to the aid of the Thrillers, with him answering that he thinks these guys have some great potential, just like he did back when he was teaming with Stevie in Harlem Heat. Booker says <em>“I didn’t never have anyone take note of my talent and help me on the path, but that’s where I’m jus’ a little different than the ‘brothers’ who were on top when I was coming up.”</em> But he says that he takes his own advice and saves that drama for his mama. He adds that it also is about getting his hands on Lance Storm, who is trying to make his name off of Booker T in the wrong way. Booker is endorsing the Thrillers as the new faces of WCW, and he would do the same for Storm if he wasn’t just so damn serious all the time! He says that as for the rest of the World, the Thrillers are looking to get their hands on all of them, and that’s gonna make sure that Storm is all his for the taking. The five of them discuss what we’ve seen tonight, especially the excitement of Nitro returning next Friday night. They also talk about the pre-show battle royal that we witnessed, which featured stars such as Billy Kidman, the Problem Solvers, Animal, and Chavo Guerrero Jr., but was won by “The Prodigal Son” himself, Dustin Rhodes. They talk more about the brand new X Division championship (Lovey is especially excited to see how that goes) and then start to discuss what we just saw with Kevin Nash being attacked by Totally Buff. Tony says that, having known Kevin for so long, he knows that he isn’t going to take this lying down, despite the numbers disadvantage. The segment closes with Stevie Ray saying that <em>“dem fruit booties gonna know when Nash come a’callin’,”</em> adding that we need to get back to action so he can see Booker T and the Thrillers take out that <em>“group of maple syrup suckas”</em> The World.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Notes: Arn Anderson’s send-off seemed pretty weak. Hayashi attacks with some offensive karate moves (not offensive because he’s Japanese, just offensive because he’s on the attack) and almost picks up the win after a senton bomb from the top rope. Hayashi tries to set up a dragon suplex that could end things, but Helms is able to come back, reversing and utilizing his X-Plex to stun Kaz enough to hit the Sugar Smack superkick. Those two are Chuck Palumbo and Lance Storm, who is able to outmaneuver and outwrestle his larger opponent. Storm gets Palumbo into a side headlock on the mat, but Chuck gets to his feet and sends Lance into the ropes, taking him down with a shoulder block before heading to tag in Booker T – but Storm plays coy, rushing back to his corner to bring Mike Awesome into the match. Palumbo tags out to O’Haire, and the two largest men in the match size one another up. It isn’t long until this breaks down into a fist-flying melee, and the other six competitors get in on it after Skipper hits a cheap shot from the outside, and this quickly turns into an eight man brawl all through the ring! The World are sent to the outside as the rise from the crowd and pure adrenaline rush fuels Booker and the Thrillers to action! Scott James gets things settled down as Booker T enters the match against the always cocky Elix Skipper. “Primetime” slips away from a lockup with a slap across Booker’s face, with Skipper gloating about it and high-fiving his teammates. Booker tries another lockup, but receives another slap, this time Booker’s eyes look like they’re about to bug out of his skull! Booker feints a lockup a third time, and now he shoves Skipper into the turnbuckle and starts slapping him repeatedly across the face! The face team then take turns tagging in and out, each one hitting Skipper with harder and harder slaps, until Jindrak sends him into the ropes. He drops to the mat, forcing Skipper to jump over his back, but when he does O’Haire is right there to hit him with a hard spinning kick! Jindrak remains in the ring, getting a near fall, before locking in a rear headlock. Elix takes some more punishment, especially some corner thrusts from Jindrak, a diving shoulder block from Palumbo, and Booker’s 110th Street Slam. Mark hits the ropes to deliver a big move, but Lance Storm cuts him down with a knee to his back, Skipper hitting a crescent kick to take him to the mat.</p><p> </p><p> From there, The World look to take over Jindrak, as they tag in and out, keeping him on the mat and away from his teammates. He repeatedly tries to make comebacks, but always gets dropped back down in one way or another. Shawn Stasiak, who had thus far into the match made sure to avoid the wrath of the Thrillers, seems to take great pleasure in hurting his former stablemate, holding him right out of reach for tagging out before pulling him away. Major Gunns even gets involved during one comeback, distracting Scott James so that a tag couldn’t be seen, while Storm slips into the ring without his own tag in order to hook Mark with a superkick, nearly pinning him after it. But it is against Storm that Jindrak finally finds an opening, and he lands a beautiful dropkick to put both men down on the mat! Mark is finally able to make a tag, bringing Booker T into the ring – and Booker goes on a rampage, hitting everyone in The World! Awesome runs him over with a clothesline to stop that momentum, but the Thrillers come in en masse to take him, Skipper, and Stasiak out of the ring. Booker and Storm are left alone finally, and Booker looks to get the Book End – but no, Storm ducks out of it and turns it into the armbar submission he used to defeat Booker during their match on the last Thunder! It’s hooked right in the middle of the ring, and Storm puts all his weight onto Booker to hold him there! Booker has no way to escape – and the pain is unbearable! He has no choice, Lance Storm has made Booker T tap out again!</p><p> </p><p> But there’s no bell – Scott James is distracted by the brawl outside of the ring! It has spilled clear up to the entrance way, with Awesome looking ready to deliver an Awesome Bomb to Palumbo off the stage! No officials can seem to get him to stop as he readies Palumbo for the big fall… </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/ClBTeNn.jpg</span></p><p> But Sid Vicious comes out to stop him! Sid and Awesome trade blows into the backstage area, essentially taking Awesome out of the match completely! Storm is furious when he finds out that he hasn’t been given the victory, arguing with James about it. O’Haire comes in and blasts Lance with a springboard diving clothesline, just as Skipper enters the ring. Elix sees the down Booker T and starts to set him up for the Play of the Day, looking to capitalize. But Booker spins out of it, and he kicks “Primetime” in the stomach before hitting an axe kick! Booker drops onto Skipper, and this time Scott is right there to make the 1 – 2 – 3!</p><p> </p><p> Once Storm realizes what happened, he is completely incensed! This would have been another huge moment, but it was taken away from him. We see backstage that Awesome has laid out Vicious with the help of a plank of wood, and he angrily is heading back out to the ring. Once there, he and Storm swarm the celebrating Booker! Stasiak joins in with a steel chair, and the three of them with these weapons lay out the Thrillers while Storm cinches in his arm lock on Booker again. WCW security led by Doug Dillinger rush the ring, trying to separate this brutal attack before anything career threatening happens. They are finally able to pull Storm off of Booker, who is howling in pain and holding his shoulder. The World stand tall at the entrance way, overlooking the carnage that they left behind them.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 17:41</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: This was done to a crowd who were ready to eat it up, and it only made them hotter. Jarrett calls it a travesty and a conspiracy against him, saying that it seems to be going clear to the top of the chain at Eric Bischoff’s feet! Flair says that he doesn’t intend on stepping on the toes of the main event, but we are in South Carolina and he’s “The Nature Boss” so we don’t need only one street fight: we’re going to have another one, right now, with six-man tornado rules! This match has very little rhyme or reason to be honest, it’s mainly full of clubbering and plunder. Dusty would be so proud of what’s going on here. Jarrett takes control by fooling Hugh into being slammed into the steel ring steps, and he slips into the ring to help his hired goons at beating Kronik down to the mat. Both Clark and Adams take some punishment from a steel chair while they keep Rection out of the ring – but the General has come for war, and he throws powder in the eyes of Big Ron to come back into the ring! Once in the ring, he gets Kronik back on their feet, and the whole match spills out of the ring and all around the front few rows of the audience! Ron and D shove Rection into the ring and double team him, with Heavy D whipping Hugh into a big boot from Ron to get a near fall, but Adams breaks it up. However Jarrett is able to pull out another Acoustic Equalizer, and he puts it around Brian Adams’s neck! Both members of Kronik feel the H-Bomb! General Rection comes back into the fray swinging though, and he delivers a big double diving clothesline to take both Harris Boys down, then hitting a military press slam to Jarrett! Kronik come back into the fight, and they lift the US champion up to give him some High Times! Two chokeslams to both Harris Brothers lay all three of them out in a row, as Hugh goes up and hits the No Laughing Matter moonsault before making a successful pinfall on Big Ron. Tenay and Hudson’s good commentary chemistry shone through in the six man, even if it was also considered short. He says that he doesn’t like the alternative of Vince McMahon buying WCW any more than the next person does, but he calls those who stick by WCW “accomplices of sins to come” who will be punished for their crimes soon. Of special note is that he says that Crowbar was punished for the sin of greed, as he had become so blinded by wanting the Hardcore title that he needed to be sacrificed. Vampiro warns Eric and Ric Flair that if they don’t get out of the way and stop these sins, they must be sacrificed at the altar as well. As Sting makes his way to the ring and points into the crowd to get specific sections of them to cheer him on, Tenay and Hudson talk about how Sting has long been known as “The Franchise of WCW” because he never left them, with Anderson saying that this may be a new WCW, but it’s the same loyal, energetic, and very dangerous Sting, a man he’s faced off with and gotten his butt kicked by many times in the past.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><iframe width="220" height="180" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/M9udAirjw3U?rel=0" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/M9udAirjw3U?rel=0"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/EVSpvhk.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> But when the lights come back on, the rolling drums begin and the crowd get on their feet for “Da Man”! The fireworks go off at the entrance way, and when they die down we see Goldberg! Commentary talk about his former 173-0 winning streak, saying that he is currently up to 52 victories in a row. Arn Anderson says that 173 wins is an inhuman task once, let alone twice; but if anyone can do it, it’s a focused Bill Goldberg. Goldberg joins Sting in the ring, and the two seem a little uneasy teaming together, but they know that it is for a common goal: to defeat the Steiner Brothers, who make their way to the ring with very few extra embellishments, simply ready to enter the ring and try to complete their recent dominance of WCW by taking down two of WCW’s “favorite sons.”</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/C4RidzV.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/3Iw81k1.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Uk8UtOC.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/EVSpvhk.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/PLFbwG7.jpg</span></p><p> <em><span style="font-size:8px;">Announced Time Limit: TV Time Remaining</span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-size:8px;"> Official: Nick Patrick</span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-size:8px;"> Ringside: Midajah (with Scott Steiner)</span></em></p><p> </p><p> You can cut the tension with a knife as the Steiners enter the ring. The lack of rules in this bout mean nobody has to leave the ring, and when the bell sounds we get immediate action as Goldberg rushes Scott! The crowd go crazy watching him and Steiner go after one another, while Sting takes Rick out with a baseball bat jab in the ribs. Sting chases “The Dog Faced Gremlin” out of the ring, as Scott takes Goldberg out of the ring on the opposite side. The four men fight around the outside of the ring, with “Big Poppa Pump” slamming Goldberg into the ringpost in order to try to injure him. On the other side, Sting makes the mistake of trying to hit a Stinger Splash as Rick laid against the guardrail; as Rick moves, Sting crashes hard against the railing. The Steiners seem to be in control as Goldberg is shoved back into the ring, with both Rick and Scott entering to begin a double team on him. They take turns suplexing Goldberg all around the ring, with Arn saying that “I’ve taken many of those suplexes from the Steiners even before they were both so jacked up, you never come out of them the same man you were before they throw you.” After a series of near-falls, Sting trying to enter the ring and being shoved back away from it, and a lot more suplexes, Goldberg must seem right for the picking. The World champion says that “He’s done!” and locks in the Steiner Recliner, with Nick Patrick right in Goldberg’s face waiting to see if he’ll submit. Rick starts helping his brother to apply pressure, but that leaves Sting an opening to enter the ring to break up the hold! </p><p> </p><p> That just serves to infuriate the Steiners even more, as Rick forcefully sends Sting out of the ring and goes out after him, overheady belly-to-belly suplexing him on the protective mats outside the ring! Midajah gives Scott his lead pipe, and he starts using it to pummel Goldberg in the back and ribs. There’s nothing Nick Patrick can do about it except plead with him to stop, until Steiner takes a swing at him, too! Scott drops an elbow on Goldberg’s back before doing some push ups. Rick and Sting battle up the entrance way, with Rick mostly beating on Sting but then Sting getting a few punches in here and there when he can. In the ring, Scott uses the pipe across Goldberg’s throat and places him back in the Recliner, with Tenay saying this could be the end of Goldberg’s career right now!</p><p> </p><p> But Sting hits him with his baseball bat! That breaks the hold, and “The Stinger” goes on the attack against the World champion! He puts Steiner into the corner and climbs up, delivering ten punches to him as the fans count along. He sends Scott to the other side of the ring and connects with a big Stinger Splash as Hudson talks about how this has to feel great for Sting, who was put out of action by Steiner back in November. Sting hits another Stinger Splash, and he starts setting Scott up for the Scorpion Deathlock! He gets the dazed Steiner over, locking in the hold! Now it’s up to Scott to submit or not! Cameras show that Rick is down in the aisle, trying to get back to his feet after Sting had hit a vertical suplex on him. So this time, Midajah comes to Scott’s aid, not wanting to lose her cash cow; she takes Sting’s bat off the mat and hits him with it. But the swing is so weak, that it barely fazes Sting. He simply stands up and grabs the bat away from her, telling her to leave the ring. Rick comes back and tries to hit Sting from behind, but he senses it coming – he nails Steiner in the ribs with the bat and delivers a clothesline that takes both of them over the top rope and out of the ring!</p><p> </p><p> As “Big Poppa Pump” gets back to his feet, he grabs up his lead pipe again and starts shaking loose the cobwebs. Midajah starts yelling to him, but it’s too late for Scott – Goldberg spears him out of his boots! The crowd scream with joy as Goldberg jumps up and snarls, before hoisting Scott up off the mat, and in nearly one swift, simple move he has Steiner up in the air! The Jackhammer! Goldberg hits it, planting Steiner right in the center of the ring! The pipe goes flying across the ring, and Midajah picks it up; but she is stopped from doing anything by the ice cold stare of Goldberg, as he hooks his leg over Steiner’s for the pin!</p><p> </p><p> 1!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> 2!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> 3!</p><p> </p><p> It’s over! The bell sounds, and it’s over! Sting joins Goldberg in the ring, and Nick Patrick raises their hands. Tenay and Hudson wonder what this means, as Goldberg just pinned our World Heavyweight champion cleanly in the middle of the ring!</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/8UJsx2M.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> The camera pans back to the entrance way, as the smiling face of Eric Bischoff is seen. He points into the ring, and applauds the winners of our main event as the crowd cheers “Da Man” and “The Stinger” loudly. Mike Tenay signs off for himself, Scott Hudson, and “Double A” before telling viewers to keep watching for the WCW Post-Show Wrap-Up hosted by Tony Schiavone and his WCW Panel; but after that, we will see you all next Friday night for the relaunch of WCW Nitro!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Match Time: 12:29</em></span></p><p><span style="font-size:8px;"><em> Notes: During Sting and Goldberg’s awesome entrances, all of commentary came off pretty weak. We could have milked the fan reaction a lot longer, but Goldberg definitely was looking excellent. During the match, the Steiners showed off their excellent in-ring chemistry as Tenay and Hudson showed again how well they play off one another on commentary. The match got the crowd hotter despite the occasional lack of psychology and underwhelming selling. The match was considered a bit rushed, and Arn’s commentary left a lot to be desired in such a big match. Scott was well suited to the brawling nature of the match, and if we were to grade everyone, he was head and shoulders above everyone else in the ring with him, a true A+ in this match. 15. <p>First Week Away from Turner</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">From the desk of Eric Bischoff:</span></span></p><p> I would say that the first week of April was pretty boring, but not having to worry about booking any shows for our brief hiatus gave me time to call up some broadcasters whom I hadn’t thought about. Apparently the Jarretts had been in contact with people, and using their name and goodwill that they’d presented led WCW into having an event broadcaster in the form of Comcast, who show to all of the United States save for Puerto Rico. From there, I was able to set up a deal with Dish Mexico as well, shoring up south of the border – where WCW has generally done well thanks to the Lucha influence of the cruiserweights – as well as Puerto Rico, which was a nice bonus. Australia was also a WCW location that I prided myself on, and having events on the subscription based Foxtel seemed like a strong idea to keep us afloat “down under”.</p><p> </p><p> But one of my biggest problems was that my baby, my greatest victory in wrestling this side of the New World Order, was not on television anymore. It just felt wrong to me to have World Championship Wrestling without Nitro. Some had tried to push me to make a new show, or to perhaps revive one of our other shows such as Saturday Night and give it top billing again, but this is Eric Bischoff’s WCW, and Eric Bischoff runs Nitro!</p><p> </p><p> But where to run it? Well, this was the beauty of the Jarretts’ idea. I did not go to Comcast pitching them events; that was just a nice addition that they agreed to play our events for the next year. I went to them pitching them the first ever weekly mainstream wrestling pay-per-view only television show! Comcast executives found the idea interesting, and we inked a six month trial period to see how it goes. I was able to get Dish Mexico to agree to the same deal, which means a weekly stream of money coming directly from fans to WCW’s empty checkbook. Where I had previously run into people saying that they saw no need to air a nearly bankrupt company, now there was hope that our money problems would go away with this new arrangement. With that hope, I was able to pitch to some other stations, and despite them not being more pay-per-view, some commercial broadcasters in other countries will build us up there until we can get a strong foothold. To that end, I was able to get my new vision onto Ten Network Australia, TV Asahi from Japan, and MTV Europe for both European and British views for Nitro. The only place I was unable to gain any footing was in Canada; but Canada has always been more a place for Vince than WCW anyways. He can have Canada for now – I am doing what I can to put the “World” back into World Championship Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> I did also attempt to strike a deal to keep Worldwide on the air, as that show has been on practically non-stop since the ‘70s and I wanted to keep that tradition running. However, no broadcasters would touch a second show given that I just resurrected Nitro, in what I feel is a silly reason but I guess I’ll just have to show them over the next three months that we are worth putting the extra TV time into. I had some big plans for it, but I will just find another way to implement them until we get it back on the air.</p><p> </p><p> With those pesky money problems getting (hopefully) squared away, I probably shouldn’t have done so much, but I made quite a few offers to some young talents. Let’s just say that I had a plan. When I signed Simon Diamond, I asked him for word on the right hand man of Paul Heyman in ECW, and one of the names that came up was a young guy by the name of Gabe Saplosky. With ECW teetering on life support, I got in contact with Saplosky, offering him to come to work for me – and once his name was on the dotted line of a three year contract, I started picking his brain for some of the top young talents that Paul had been looking to bring in, and if he had any knowledge on how Paul had planned to use them. Being more of the “internet age” than I am, I am looking to him to be on the ground level for me, and supply me with names who will be able to excite fans into getting off of their money. With the help of Gabe, Terry Taylor (for the two weeks that he’s going to still be working for WCW before his contract runs out), Johnny Ace, and Jerry Jarrett, I think we have a very fine little creative team who can give fans a multitude of stories that will appease at least someone in the audience. I also moved our music licensing rights back up a notch, which is probably how I was able to land that deal on MTV Europe at least, to a “Licensed” level rather than minor licensing. I sent Garrett into school on a mission to find out what the kids are listening to, and while some of the things he brought back to me were utterly horrific, I think we’ve found something that they will take to as the new lead themes for Nitro and other events, that will make sure we don’t just look like the same old “southern ‘rasslin’” that we have generally been labeled as.</p><p> </p><p> Just because I could, and because I felt like I needed to at least try and keep our name out there, I did a sneaky move by paying some fans to try to hijack the live Raw with some WCW chants. Unfortunately, they were lambasted by a rough audience and kicked out by security, but I feel I have enough plausible deniability that this won’t do any actual damage. After all, it isn’t the worst dirty trick I’ve tried to pull on ol’ Vincey, and I’m sure that it won’t be the last either.</p><p> </p><p> In strange news, apparently our little development that can is having some problems playing well with others. One of the names that I sought out was “Dirty” Dutch Mantell, as I felt the influx of talent I was about to send to NWA:Wildside needed a better head booker than what Bill Behrens was capable of. However, only a few days after his signing, Wildside took it upon themselves to become hostile towards both Jersey All Pro Wrestling based in New Jersey and Dusty Rhodes’s Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling. But at least that is a child company going against other potentially rival companies; Vince has to deal with a hostility within his own children, as OVW and HWA declared hostile feelings toward one another. Honestly, with Jim Cornette as OVW’s head booker, it seems only a matter of time before everyone hates Ohio Valley.</p><p> </p><p> A few of the names who were on my docket to be signed I am leaving to do their own things for a little while, despite having been pretty high on the list I was handed. TAKA Michinoku, CM Punk, Yoshihiro Tajiri, and “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson have all agreed to do a tour of Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, and for the time being I am going to allow them to just do so. Seeing how they come out of FMW may prove a much different package than what they are going into it, so we will see how that goes. Brian Kendrick also is doing a tour, but his is for the Ultimo Dragon project Toryumon Mexico. He assured me that he isn’t looking to go to the WWF, as he is a little sour that they didn’t reup his development contract in February. That tells me that if I just give him some time, he will play out this Mexico gig and come back better.</p><p> </p><p> Most of what I set up are development deals, however. Some of these guys have only had a few years in the business, and after a couple months under Dutch they should be ready to replace guys like the Harris Boys and make the new WCW far more exciting. Fans will love some of these guys for sure, and a lot of them are coming off the back of ECW careers that should help bring some of those fans over to our new shows. As I said before; losing Dallas is a blow, but that extra $250k in the bank per month is going to be a life saver, as well as Kevin agreeing to a lower contract. Most of these kids are only asking for a little over a thousand dollars a month, compared to $300 grand! “ATM Eric” has closed for good, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for what’s to come. But some great news is that earlier this week, the new championship belt I had commissioned arrived; and I think fans are really going to enjoy this.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>-----------</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="OOC" data-cite="OOC" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43111" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Thanks everyone for the predictions! 18. <p>I am really liking Booker joining up with Uncle Eric and his Empire here. It's a natural move for him in this position of not being sure of himself, and the add-on effect is that his overness should rub off on all other members of the group, who I would imagine have almost capped off after their previous feuds ran their course. In that I mean to say that there's only so much that they were going to gain by just hanging around Bischoff and having matches with aging Flair and Sting, but being around Booker and Austin are going to add a whole new level for them to reach.</p><p> </p><p> I always liked Tony Mamaluke, he may not have been quite as sound as Guido was but he definitely is a solid hand. If I remember correctly, his selling is through the roof as well, which will help if the Steiners ever get their hands on him!</p><p> </p><p> I like the signing of Aries as well, he should improve pretty fast in Wildside and be a strong player soon. I don't think he'll be quite "A-Double, Best Wrestler in the World" or anything for some time, but he can for sure be the intense killer that he was in his early Ring of Honor career.</p>

He isn't one of my initial hires that I plan on bringing in because Final Countdown has done such a great job pushing him that I want to make sure I'm carving my own niche in 2001. He really was quite the surprise, and while I'm not really thinking he's going to take the title home from Jarrett, it'll definitely be an interesting feud when it happens. Another surprise though was Storm taking the US title. I'm not saying I don't like it, just that I didn't think it would be jumping off of Rey so quickly. Kanyon and Stacy are a solid pairing, I have continued finding something for Stacy to do in my game other than be a pre-show hype segment (she has thrown a lot of t-shirts to a lot of crowds ), so I applaud you and TFC for finding a place for her.

Don't get me wrong, Austin has been great, but ever since June, Scott has been a real force.</em></p><p> Rey Mysterio</p><p> Undertaker - <em>Not sure if we'll be seeing Dude or Jack, but it'll be an entertaining piece for sure.</em></p><p> Lance Storm - <em>This win should put Storm on the map for sure, the Battle of the Thrillseekers could potentially last until Mania if you play it right.</em></p><p> Jeff Jarrett - <em>As much as I would figure Sid will win this, if he does then the M$C are pretty much dead in the water as you begin 1997. We need all the stars we can get, and with the amount that I’d be saving on Kev, I probably could bring Scott in once he’s done in Japan. Vince who? And I never sent you any tapes. What are you talking about?”</span></p><p> </p><p> “The tapes, with your wrestling show on them! We had some of the interns watch them. Why would we want to put a show with a geriatric woman trying to undress, or some badly acted soap opera where a woman loses her baby tripping on a ring apron, or even that vampire character spitting blood at the audience?”</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#0000FF;">“Sir… WCW have never done any of those things. Who sent you those tapes?”</span></p><p> </p><p> “Vince did! He wanted us to see what you were trying to sell, and it was complete smut! We want to try and be a little edgy on FX, but that is going too far!”</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#0000FF;">“Was it Vince McMahon? Because his company is the one who booked all of those things!”</span></p><p> </p><p> “Look, just stop calling us! We aren’t putting a low-brow, nearly bankrupt company on our stations. Good bye!”</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>-----</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> So that’s it, huh? Vince went out of his way to cost us potential TV deals. Was it McMahon or Russo? Is there much difference between the two of them? Those sons of bitches think they can silence me and my new WCW. He actually convinced them that our show was theirs! No wonder they wanted nothing to do with us! He sent them a bunch of their crap “slop opera” stories! Russo’s BS, that crap that he tried to bring to WCW.</p><p> </p><p> It’s starting to look bleaker and bleaker for WCW… we need a miracle, or a new idea… we only have one episode left of Nitro and of Worldwide left, no pay-per-view outlet, and Thunder is officially finished – <em>finally</em>, I might add. I never liked having that show forced on me by Ted Turner in 1998, let alone four years later when I was just stuck with it. But that doesn’t help me now. I put my head in my hands. I’m just not sure where to go from here.</p><p> </p><p> Just then, there’s a knock at my door. <span style="color:#A0522D;">“Hey, Eric?”</span></p><p> </p><p> I look up to see Jeff and Jerry Jarrett in the open doorway. <span style="color:#0000FF;">“Sorry guys, I didn’t see you there. What is it?”</span></p><p> </p><p> Jerry speaks, saying that they heard that last discussion. <span style="color:#A0522D;">“It sounded a lot like we aren’t gonna be back on TV anytime soon, are we?”</span></p><p> </p><p> I sigh under my breath. <span style="color:#0000FF;">“It sounds like a Vince – not sure if it’s McMahon or Russo – cost us a deal with FX, which was probably our best hope. I’m just not sure what to do from here. I was kinda banking on that FX deal.”</span></p><p> </p><p> Jeff speaks up now, a smile on his face. <span style="color:#FF8C00;">“Well it wouldn’t have been Russo, I just talked to him the other day. He would’ve bragged about something like that.”</span></p><p> </p><p> I bite my tongue; I know Jeff was friends with Russo, but I’m not clearing him of anything just yet.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF8C00;">“Look, Dad and I had an idea not long ago for a new wrestling company, if WCW didn’t work out. But if you’re planning to stick with this, then we’ll share it with you. A little ace-in-the-hole that nobody would even dream of for a wrestling organization. It may be just what you need right now.”</span></p><p> </p><p> I listen intently, as they explain, and a light goes off in my mind. I will need to make a few new calls, obviously, but this could be it.</p><p> </p><p> This could just be the answer to all of my problems.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">From the desk of Eric Bischoff:</span></span></p><p> What a week it was! The series finale of Nitro, and also WrestleMania. I didn’t actually get to watch the show, but I looked at the results, and I have to say… </p><p> </p><p> Are they ****ing kidding with this?</p><p> </p><p> Look, Steve Austin is a solid heel, don’t get me wrong. I pushed him as a heel for years before dropping him from WCW. He makes a good heel. However, this isn’t the same Steve Austin as 1994, and not the same fans. The Southern fans who ate up his Hollywood Blonds golden locks and cocky attitude are not the ones who watched him since 1997 as the ass kicking beer drinker. And to actually align him with Vince? It just screams of a desperate shock move… a lot like the one we did with Goldberg last June, and that completely blew up in our face. Maybe Russo really is working with the WWF again, though everyone swears that he isn’t. I guess we’ll see how it goes, and if it impacts their numbers for the better or worse.</p><p> </p><p> Then again, maybe I’m just criticizing because I had pitched the idea of “huge babyface turns heel to align with his greatest rival” around our locker room to use toward the summer, and it looks as though Vince beat me to it. Now if I use that, it’ll just look like I’m copying off the WWF, and that sort of stigma is the last thing we need right now.</p><p> </p><p> Back at the final Nitro, I had a problem arise when Sting got to the show. My plan was to have a big match featuring he and Ric Flair to really close out Nitro on TNT. I even went ahead with having Flair make the challenge to him, but the more the night wore on, the more I could tell that Sting was hiding that he wasn’t quite ready for in-ring action yet. I left him on the show, but used it as a vehicle to put some more heat on the Steiners by having them stop the match before it ever started. I pleaded with Sting to get himself back into fighting shape by Big Bang, and he said he would do so for his first pay-per-view main event since Fall Brawl 1999. Backstage at Nitro, Shane Helms was the life of the party by proving that “Sugar” wasn’t only a wrestling related nickname, showing that he had some cooking skill by setting up a barbeque outside Club La Vela to make food for wrestlers and some of the early fans who showed up. Scott Steiner turned his attention toward CW, saying that he should be written off because there’s no way that a – and I’m paraphrasing here – “ugly dumb slob like him” would ever make a connection with fans. I didn’t say anything, as letting Scott rant can be in someone’s best interest sometimes, but Chris isn’t any better or worse off than Rick Steiner was back in the late 1980s when he arrived in the NWA, and nobody jumped on his case. I have plans for CW, and I don’t care what people may say about him, because unless something serious happens, he’s going to be sticking around. In better notes, Tony Schiavone let me know in no uncertain terms that he wasn’t a big fan of the move I was taking WCW in by heading to Vegas, saying that his children and wife like their Atlanta home and so he wouldn’t be moving along with it. I told him that is admirable, but that he wasn’t going to be changing my mind about it as I really feel like WCW need a change of scenery in our new era. Kaz Hayashi, however, seemed very excited as he let me know that he had completely relocated himself from the Kanto region of Japan to Colorado, to ensure that he would always have WCW closer to his home and thus would be easier to book.</p><p> </p><p> I gave World Championship Wrestling a two week break so that everyone could be rested up, but also to give fans a short rest as well. I would have set Big Bang up in May, but I didn’t feel like we could financially wait that long. Wrestlers need paid, and if I don’t keep up momentum with that $5,312,500 that Dallas gave me in order to leave his contract, then we are going to be right back where we started. I was also looking to try and shore up a few new talents before the big show. At the same time, I am also looking into moving Nitro onto a different night. As I’ve said, I will freely admit that Vince won the Monday night war for now; however, thus far I only lost due to Time Warner’s restrictions and my own hubris. Both of these things have been dealt with, but we need to step back and regroup. Maybe one day we will make another push for the top, but WCW is clearly regarded as second rate right now in comparison to the WWF. I will be getting with our webmasters to get the news out on how to watch Big Bang and further WCW shows later today, as well as getting out our new branding. I never really liked the 1999 rebrand logo, it just felt like a rushed first draft idea that we ended up stuck with for the past two years. Sadly that era will be defined by failure, but hopefully our red logo will show that we are finished with those days. It has been shown on-screen in the background here and there and has been on the cover of WCW magazine for some time now, but I’m going to force the change to make it what we are associated with in the new times.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>Despite our poor finances and an overall bad few years – along with the numerous times that I’ve had to try and stave off Shane McMahon trying to get his claws into my WCW – overall, God help me, I’m getting hopeful for the future of WCW again.</p><p> </p><p> -----------------------------------------------------------------------</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="OOC" data-cite="OOC" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43111" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I know, I had said that I was going to post WCW and WWF rosters and then I didn't do it. Don't hate on me please! I just ended up deciding that it would be better to do that after week one for the WWF and after Big Bang for WCW. So I am going to just continue on at the moment. There will be two WWF weeks before I post The Big Bang, but in between them I will be posting a prediction card for Big Bang. But judging by some of the things I've put into this backstage post, maybe people will figure out where I am going with WCW before it gets announced for real. I also have finally revealed for sure what BigBad told me to do at SuperBrawl with Kevin Nash, which I appreciated highly because I was inwardly hoping that whoever had won that prize would ask for that! I had intended on losing Page no matter what happened with Kevin, so not losing him and also being told to try signing Hall when he becomes available should help the star quality in the future, but may also hurt the backstage in the long run. Meh, what are ya gonna do? In really great news, somehow that $6m wage bill that I had back in January is now only claiming to be $2m, so hey, maybe I will be turning profits soon!</div></blockquote>
