1. bye bye childress.

Brad Childress was officially fired today by the Vikes. Fraizer their D coach will take over. I like that move because Fraizer will be a hot ticket this offseason. Also Jason Garrett has done nicely with the Boys, I know it was the Lions, but also the Lions aren't an easy game anymore.

  2.

Rashard Lewis seems to be shooting poorly this season. He didn't do bad last night though.

Nice game from Blake Griffin playing against Amar'e Stoudemire and the New York Knicks. He can jump like crazy for a white guy (okay, half-). Amar'e took him to school and the Knicks have picked up some wins from their west coast road trip.

Rudy Gay with a game winning shot over LeBron James. D-Wade was out and the Heat have started the season 8-5. Man was i way wrong in my eight ball on them. I thought they would have started the season better. But i know my role and i'll shut my mouth on that one.

Raptors and Hornets completed a trade. Peja & Bayless to Raptors for Andersen, Jarrett Jack, and Marcus Banks. Looks like a cost-cutting move for the Hornets who are notorious for selling their picks for cash.

I don't see the trade that way. They picked up a very solid PG (IMHO) in Jack and Banks and Andersen are just more bodies. The Hornets are trying their best to put more talent around Chris Paul.

I guess 10-10's aren't the done thing in UFC, but that's the impression I got.

I heard a suggestion somewhere that if two guys are standing, doing nothing, the referee should be allowed to disqualify them. I would have loved that in the Falcoa fight. Clearly they didn't want to fight, so DQ 'em and move onto the next thing. Rampage's?

I saw a close could go either way 1st round. Rampage won the 2nd and Dragon won the third.

  4. so to move away from Oden, has anyone seen the little impressive season Jameer Nelson is having? He has had back to back games of 9 ast or more, as well as 7 of the 10 games he has played he has 7 or more assist and 5 of the ten he has had 7 or more ast.

I have stated for a while a big reason the Magic wont be true contenders is maturity and Nelson being able to dish at will. He has looked very good in a bunch of the games they have played and the maturity of the whole team (Dwight) has looked extremely good to me.

Also Dwight seems to be finding his offense...... finally.

Vince Carter has looked good this year hitting 46% of his Three's. To bad we are still paying someone 19 mill to avg 10/5 a game :(.

  5. That was indeed a great card.

Main event hinged on who you gave the first round to. I gave it to Rampage, but I can completely understand someone giving it to Machida. My scorecard was 29-28 Rampage...there are a lot of people online saying that the last round was a 10-8, but I guess they were watching a different fight!

Penn-Hughes was 20-odd seconds of tension followed by all-round good times :)

Harris looked bad more than Falcao looked good - with that said, I understand why Falcao coasted the last round.

George Sotiropoulos vs Sean Sherk in Oz next Feb. Winner gets a title shot.

Phil Davis has the shoulders of an action figure.

As if this night wasn't surreal enough, I got an email off Mike f'ing Tyson. A colleague gave his manager my Gmail addy. Bizarre!

I agree with how you scored the 1st round and the fight. I thought Rampage was more aggressive and seemed to want it more. I didn't personal think Dragon did enough to warrant a 10 to 8 3rd round. He had a great match and won it yes, but Rampage also had offense in that round as well.

Also cool about the tyson thing

  6. Conley has already lost his starting job this year to vazques, and looks god awful when he's on the floor.

He is a turnover machine, I loved every minute he played against the Celtics last week. I was way more concerned when vazquez was on the floor, rondo was absolutely murdering conley.

Griz are kicking themselves hopefully for giving him 5 years at 50 million

  7. Oden will stay with the Blazers because 8 million for the option is a LOT cheaper than the 20 or thirty million they would need to bring in somebody from free agency. Oden at 8 million next year will actually be a "cheap" option for center.

That being said Greg Oden is not going to be the player people thought he was in college. I don't even think you can use the word potential for a guy like Oden since he's shown NO potential to be on that level. He's shown he can be solid but not Bill freaking Russell.

Anyway the Oklahoma City got Durant which I'm thankful for. Hopefully this time next year I'll be close enough to get season tickets.

I believe Portland has already declined his option so no 8 million isn't the option there. They got Camby last year and he probably has at least 2 more years of being their rebounder.

  8.

Well if that is the case so be it but the sad case could be he takes his talents...

TO SOUTH BEACH

I could see that honestly. If he gets Healthy. Also Oden has never shown he would be a dominate player at all, even when he is Healthy. He played on a good OSU team that has produced a couple Centers with potential the last decade, but I still don't see him doing anything other than being a another Sam Bowie player for the Blazer after passing over a sure fire hall of famer (and yes as long as Durant stays healthy I believe he is)

  9.

Not at all look back at his final college contest where he had a superb defensive game and he can be a possible force in the paint also this man wasn't healthy during his only season in college yet the Buckeyes made it to the national title game. If fully healthy he could be a force

dude that's college. College he was playing against some nice talent, but how many centers did he play that made it to the NBA outside of Horford and Noah? A Center has a much more difficult time becoming a superstar in the NBA then any other position is because of their size. Oden would be lucky to be one day compared to Marcus Camby who has had a very good career as a REB guy and putting up 8 to 13 points a night.

  10.

The key word in my statement was potential because his year at Ohio State he,Conley,Cook and Lighty lead OSU to national championship and if it wasn't for his key defensive stop against Tennessee that would have never happened also both Kenyon Martin and Amar'e have had micro fracture surgery and haven't had many leg injuries since.

First they lead them there and got beat by three players who have done so much more than then in the NBA. Second Conley hasn't done much himself and the reason he got that contract amazes me. Third you are right about Amar'e he had one I believe and still is good. Kenyon had one in college and then a couple recently and wasn't the same once he got to the Nuggets. Oden has already had two or three knee operations since his first year like 3 years ago.

  11.

Are you high? That's one of the worst comparisons I've even seen on a message board,...And i used to write a sports column for 411mania, so I've seen some really BAD comparisons.

Even healthy, Oden has barely averaged 11 pts and 8 reb and just over 2blks. You just compared him to two of the best centers in the history of the NBA and maybe the greatest "winner" in any sport.

If Oden ever does get healthy, he'd be lucky to have Sam Bowie's career.

LOL if he gets healthy the team would just be happy about a stat line of 11pts and 8 REB a game lmao

No thanks. Hoping that .289 avg from this past year keeps up, but if not I surely don't want him hitting third.

why not in the three hole first of all. I mean the three hole is for players who drive in runs and Uggla has proven he can do that on a team where he's had no protection like the Braves can offer him.

And no, I was thinking the 4 hole. He hits 30 HR a year and Heyward hit 18, but I expect to see that rise at least 7 HR this year. With Uggla hitting behind him, Heyward will see better pitches.

I expect Lee to be back this year at a much reduced salary. I think McCann will bounce back. Overall I think this will be a dangerous offense.

  14.
http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/news/story?id=5819502

Dude the yanks are dumb. They could go as low as 3 years 10 mill a year. He wont command much on the open market because of the fact he is so old and had some of his worse numbers. Don't let the gold glove fool you either, he doesn't have the range he use to have.

I would offer 10-11 mill a year for 3 years take it or leave it. Jeter probably just wants 5 or 6 years because it would put him at 40-42 and since MLB contracts are a sure thing he could play all 6 years suck or get cut and still get all the money he signed for.

You don't want to lose him and I understand that, he will probably be the first yankee with 3000 hits, but 21 million a year to me at least is crap.

Also do the Yanks go and get a closer like Soriano this year and have him as the 8th inning person for a year or two until Rivera is ready to hang them up?

Also, I'm not sure these are 'official' since there's nothing on the Nike website about new team designs.

there are not official, they have just been going around the internet. They were designed by Nike though. Also I didn't like really any of them outside of the Panthers, but I loved a lot of the helmets

  16. I think the Chargers is the easy one to see moving; i also still see there being two teams moving to LA.

I think they will do one for now and see if they will be able to be successful there (which they will) I expect by 2020 we will see two teams in LA

also Nike has the rights to the NFL jersey starting in 2012 and these are some designs that have been hitting the internet

    what do you guys think?

  17. Read a news report saying that the L.A stadium proposal thats on the table right now is closer to being a done deal than any of the proposals the last fifteen years. Right now if the proposal is accepted the stadium would be built around 2015.

Early rumors have the Chargers heading to L.A apparently they have a clause that they can get out of their contract with San Diego any year from now until whenever. Right now the price tag to get out of the contract is at 26 million and each year it decreases. On top of that the family that currently owns the Chargers are shopping around a minority ownership in the team with Goldman and Sachs partnering up with the familiy to sell some of the team.

Of course that being said the Rams lease in the Edwards Jones Dome is up after the 2014 season making a transition to L.A in 2015 easy.

Not too mention Jacksonville rumors persist as well.

I could see the Rams or Chargers, but here is the big reason I see the Chargers.

The new Rams owner is from Miss. so it would be harder for them to move since he has ties their. Again though the all mighty dollar means a lot to people and it would lessen his travel cost for four games each year.
