  1. Alliance question... So blatantly stealing from a few other mods that had it sent up this, The Yes Mod has the Mexican Commission as an alliance. The Mexican National titles are set up as alliance titles. All Mexico-based companies are part of the alliance. This is the most accurate way to simulate the Mexican National belts, which are promoted by specific companies (rarely and poorly) but not on a permanent basis. The issue I'm having is that setting up as a loan alliance has workers borrowed back and forth between CMLL and AAA. What's the "least impactful" alliance option that doesn't really do anything for the companies beyond allow them to share titles?
  2. <p>So post-Easter update. Poured some good hours into modding (my FMing time suffered in response) and made some solid progress. Some more workers went in, but I didn't focus on the list of yet-to-debut workers like I have been. I did tackle a few title lineages for retired belts. But I put a ton of time into working on Hall of Fame and Hall of Immortal entries. Didn't quite finish tem out but not too far away now. There are over 400 Hall of Fame entries at this point. I've also found some workers who need HoI/HoF cuts that I will get done and then they be added as well.</p><p> </p><p>

I've also been working my way through Oyaji's annual awards and adding them. Its a bit slower than one would expect, simply because I'm working my way backwards year by year, and now that I'm in the mid-90s, there are more workers who are not in the data. Especially managers, commentators and refs if they are retired or sadly passed away. I'm not sure if the awards are something most will pay attention to, but legit one of my favorite aspects of the mod. </p><p> </p><p>

So what's left and where does that leave a full release? Glad you asked!</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Yet to Do</span></strong></p><p>

<strong>Add Workers</strong> - this won't be completed before a full release as even finishing off the list I have won't "complete" the mod in this regard. There will always be more who can go in</p><p>

<strong>Missing Workers Check</strong> - holding off on this as it could really inflate the list of workers that still need to get added, but most will be future workers rather than active ones</p><p>

<strong>Finish the End of Year Awards</strong> - definitely want to get these done</p><p>

<strong>Finish Adding Hall of Fame & Hall of Immortal entries</strong> - would like to complete this before doing a full release</p><p>

<strong>Title Lineages</strong> - the belts remaining are mostly inactive ones so not a priority to get the lineages in</p><p>

    <strong>Agers </strong>- again, not a priority</p><p>

<strong>Matches</strong>: again, just cleaning up and adding a few</p><p>

    <strong>Locations</strong> - cleaning up the list</p><p>

<strong>Testing </strong>- this is probably going to be an going process </p><p> </p><p>

So if I'm not determined to have all of the missing future workers in before a full release (I am definitely not), we are getting quite close.</p>

  3. I actually hit Submit before i quite finished my last post lol

Among the "yet to finish" stuff is a lot of lineages for retired belts and dead companies. I like having that depth but those lineages are.... not appealing. I might skip doing the title defenses on those as that adds significant time. Just adding in the champions and dates speeds it up significantly.

I am very cognizant that this it the kind of project where you can drop into an endless cycle of "adding more polish". I don't want this to be the Chinese Democracy of TEW mods. You can add more workers forever. At the same time, leaving stuff "for later" carries risks as I am also aware that some of that "for later" stuff may never get completed. So its trying to find that point where I'm comfortable that if not much gets done for a further release, it feels okay to me.

I have a 5 day weekend coming up without much planned and we are in semi-lockdown here, so I imagine I should make some progress on getting at least some of what's left done.

You'll get there when you get there man, just appreciative of the work you're doing :) Looking forward to starting a game in this

Thank you. That is much appreciated.

glad to hear this is still being worked on but it is already by far the mod I've most enjoyed using on this tew :D

Only thing I had to do is import was the more notable missing yet to debut female talent, but that's the only noticeable issue I've had with the mod in it's current form.

That's awesome to hear and progress has never stopped lol.

Joshi has already gotten a LOT of future workers and quite a few of the ones on my list are joshi talent as well. I've tried targeting the ones I know have become stars or pargticularly notable talents. Its hard to know who is "worthwhile" among the lesser names. Joshi has a lot of "debut, work for 2 years, retire" talents. I'm sur all of pro wrestling does but they seem to stand out in joshi because almost everyone comes through a company dojo. Related, I also have a slight concern that too many yet-to-debut workers in all areas are a bit too... samey - in all game-world areas. But given the growth of young workers, they end up way overpowered too quickly if they debut as strong workers.

Whether before or after a "full" release, I'll hopefully get some feedback from you and/or some other joshi experts and help fine tune the scene even more :-)

  4. <p>Small update.... i was hoping to have a full version out by the end of February, and then the end of March and then.... well, its still being worked on. I'm not sure if there was more work left than I really realized or if I've slowed down a bit... or both. After the last batch of testing feedback from HWRP, there really aren`t major changes or additions going in. Its mostly "small stuff", but its still stuff that needs to get done. </p><p> </p><p>

    A few notes...</p><p>

-at around 2720 workers. Working through the list of remaining workers, which is mostly female yet-to-debut talent. Trying to focus on the more the "notable" workers on the list and the ones who debut sooner. Have added a few "legends" as well. I will still need to some "who is missing" lists at some point as I'm sure there will be plenty more missing that need to go in. </p><p>

-got thru the list of period-correct cuts for WWE and NXT workers</p><p>

-working on adding the custom End of Year Awards covering 1980-2012 that Oyaji did for me. Really happy with how his list turned out. Thinks its a great little addition and the work he put in is massively appreciated. </p><p>

-lots of "small" stuff still to do - Hall of Fame, agers, cleaning up the locations file. Nothing major or game-breaking.</p>

  5. hey man great mod, alot of title history is missing (like wwe european hardcore tag team)

Yes indeed. I think most of the active title belts have lineages. Its mostly retired belts that don't have them and they will get added in at some point, but I haven't prioritized them as they are not going to be used by the majority of users.

nah man feel free, add away.

    thank you kindly, sir.

  6. Did a few cuts for my New Japan Game so i thought i'd upload them if anyone wants 'em.

    Sgs3IJM.png

    https://www.mediafire.com/file/ci4s3ffx8psy83d/njpw_update.rar/file

Ohh…. ohh… any concern if I include some (or all) of these in the mod?

Small update… still plugging away. closing in 2700 workers in the data, and the list of "need to add" male workers is dwindling. Something like 100 women on that list. We aren't far away now, but still a bit to go.

  7. Might not be an ideal 1-for-1 trade, but could just use 2nd or 3rd place instead. Like 2010, UFC won for best event, so you could go with second place, which was ROH's Death Before Dishonor.

Women's Wrestler of the Year will be a pain though. I'd say go from Wrestler of the Year voting to Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Year and if there's no woman wrestler placed anywhere in the top 10 or honorable mentions, maybe use Most Improved as a last resort?

Nice suggestion, Atticus. Might be the direction I end up going.

Ran into something not too major today while modding and figured I'd ask what people think... Was adding King Mo and realized he never actually wrestled for TNA, at least as far as I can tell. He was with them for awhile, made some appearances but more as an enforcer role. I've held off on adding him for now, but I'm thinking its more accurate to have him set as a non-wrestler, and anyone can edit him to be a wrestler if they so choose...

  8. So I’m playing as a reopened AJW, from May 2013 – Jan 1st 2015

Been having a blast with this save, will probably post some detail about what’s going on in the other thread

May 2013, you say? I would very much like to know more!!!!

  9. Forgot to mention a small issue I've run into. Begun working on the End of Year awards and going by the Wrestling Obesrver Newsletter awards where possible. But they don't converge with the TEW awards perfectly. WON doesn't have a Women's Wrestler of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and others. WON also gave the UFC some awards in the early 00s. I looked at using the PWI awards but they are too kayfabe and WWE-centric to be of real value. Open to ideas.
  10. really looking forward to the next update on this man. you've done a killer job.

Thank you, kind sir. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the update and the work you're putting in. I've been playing and loving this mod, to the point my planned games in other mods or the CV have become distant memories. Even in Beta it already feels very complete. Glad you're avoiding burnout. Take as much time as you need and thanks again!

    And thank you as well!

I'm thrilled that people are enjoying it, even in an incomplete state.

So mostly working on Hall of Fame and Hall of Immortal entries. Have a couple hundred sepia cuts done - thanks Atticus! - and will probably get another batch done for workers who are or are likely to be in a Hall of Fame. Don't know how many of you pay attention to the HoI and HoF entries, but... I like the feature, so....

Doing the entries takes some time and are not always going to be accurate. Things like headlining major events can be hard to figure out, especially since company size is a factor and many companies don't run a "normal" schedule. But the Hall of Fame requirements aren't exactly that heavy. Hall of Immortal ones are and it creates a bit of an issue. If i stick completely to the game criteria, some of the biggest legends of the early years of pro wrestling wouldn't make the cut. But they obviously need to go in. Japan and Mexico are particularly tough due to the way they treated titles. As we get to more modern wrestlers, I'm sticking closer to the actual criteria, although not necessarily absolutely.

  11. <p>Small update. Still plugging away. Up to somewhere around 2630 workers now, but a lot of focus has been on other outstanding aspects. Did up the Mexican national title linages, so that leaves the NWA tag team titles and possible one small company that still need to be done - leaving aside the historical belts that I will be adding at some point. </p><p> </p><p>

Lukkearthur was kind enough to share some year-correct cuts for WWE that I've been adding. I've been adding additional agers for some of those workers, and also adding HoI and HoF entries. There will still be lots of those entries to do, but progress is progress. </p><p> </p><p>

When I released the beta, i was thinking a February or March full release was doable, but I'm starting to doubt that a bit. I mean, it is feasible, but doing a "full" release which still has a whole bunch of stuff left undone, it would feel like a "beta plus" instead of a proper finished release. So that will delay things a bit. My daily modding time has decreased a bit lately, partly due avoid burnout. But I'm still making progress.</p>

Just wanted to say thanks as I'm really enjoying it. The amount of workers and companies is great, probably the best I've found in a RW mod for 2020 thus far. I'm also finding that most young and promising workers are finding regular gigs and getting matches/experience in at a healthy rate which is cool.<p> </p><p> I'm still only early in my playthrough so I can't give many notes regarding long-term play but I wanted to thank you for your work on this mod as I can see myself enjoying playing as NJPW, TNA, Stardom and many other feds here. He is no longer missing. </p><p> </p><p> Someone else pointed him out recently so he's already been added. </p><p> </p><p> He isn't going to be the only veteran missing, although I definitely should have had him in there. On some of the then-current RW mods from the 2009-2014 period, I often felt like there were too many leftover vets from the 80s and 90s while a lot of indy workers were left off. It could've been due to the base mod, the mod-makers knowledge, or the mod-makers preference. I think what I found annoying about having those workers in there wasn't just that they were there - it was that they would often be more appealing hires for indy companies. You would end up with ROH having a bunch of late 90s WCW guys headlining and if regions weren't restricted, a company in the UK or Europe would look like late days ECW in terms of its roster. So I kinda added the veterans who aren't still overtly active (so on a starting roster) a bit sparingly. But as Genadi likes to point out, those kind of workers are great for world building. And not just the ones who who are in a Hall of Fame of a company or two. Plus people also like to find their favorites, so I've been adding more. I don't want to en masse add everyone who would be in a late 90s mod but I'm keeping my eye on who could be useful. Especially veterans - still semi active or not - who would reasonably be useful as road agents or or even bookers. </p><p> </p><p> TL / DR - very open to suggestions on veterans that could be added to the mod.</p>
  13. The link on the OP still downloads version 0.1 of the data. Is 0.2 available?

I double checked its the more recent upload so try it again. If its says 0.1 then I've overlooked changing that. The main difference between 0.1 and 0.2 was Adam making sure the brands doubling issue that was patched out awhile back wasn't happening in the data, as some were seeing it on 0.1. It was only a few days between versions so not a huge amount was added or changed.

  14. Minor update that's not really worth an update... Got most of the outstanding to-add active workers into the data and a nice bunch of future workers. Just shy of 2600 workers now. That's been my focus and probably will be for the next bit. will tackle some of the other small outstanding things bit by bit. Would love to do a February full release but not going to promise anything.

You might have already addressed this but shouldnt Wrestlemania be a April PPV and not March?

It tends to bounce between late March and early April IRL but most people tend to put it at the end of March in games as the default.

EDIT: While I'm here, I did notice in a new game that I was running today that when TJPW opened in August 2013, they also have a bunch of dojo graduates enter the game world at the same time and it doesn't look like they actually get first refusal and ultimately the AI will wind up not going back to sign most of them.

You gents have found two of my bug-bears!

The WWE schedule isn't accurate but because the WWE varies where they put Wrestle-Mania between late March and early April, no choice is going to be fully accurate. WM probably falls more often in early April. But I left in late March because it spaces it better with the other PPVs. I figure if someone running WWE can adjust it if they want but for the AI, it just looks and feels cleaner. Putting in the first weekend of April will put it fairly close to a PPV in March (which the WWE doesn't actually run) or space out weirdly if you lock the WWE schedule so the AI doesn't try to add a March PPV.

TJP is... a compromise that's still in progress. In reality, TJP started running shows in mid-2012. But they weren't really wrestling shows. They were variety shows with music, other performances, and wrestling exhibition matches. Many of those short exhibition matches were with the talent who would eventually debut in the first dojo class in August 2018.

I initially had TJP open at the start, but they didn't get any talent until August so the roster was filled up and ended up looking nothing like TJP actually did. so that wasn't ideal. Hence why the date was moved back to August to match up with the class debut. But yeah, its looks like they don't sign all of them. I have tweaked the start date to a month prior, so they get a bit of time to start filling the roster but they sign most of the debuting trainees. Not necessarily all of them. The only other option, which I don't really like, would be to have TJP open with the debut date of the trainees all moved up.

A few other things I noticed after playing this morning.

Tony Garea wasnt very good as a road agent for me, I had a look and his psychology is grand so I'm not sure what affected it.

A few of the picture seem to be from a later time period for WWE (Big E, Bo Dallas, Jack Swagger, Drew Galloway, Daniel Bryan ect.)

The Usos picture also seems like its from a slightly earler period maybe 2012.

Im not sure why AJ is heel and Ziggler is face but shes managing him even though theyre on two different brands. This is probably more of a TEW issue.

Id argue for setting Zeb and Swagger to have good chemistry with each other.

Id also personally set the WCW and ECW titles to retired instead of active for WWE.

But other than that Im really enjoying the mod, its slightly difficult I have dropped in size already but I dont find it insanely hard. I just probably need to get better. I personally ended the brandsplit because my ratings were too low without using both Raw and SD superstars on both shows. If youre interested at all I'll probably be cutting some of my own pictures for the mod if youre interested in taking a look at them and see if they fit in. Hope youre well!

Thank you for the feedback, good sir.

I think Garea is road agent time decline as it seems the only reason he's just not very good when he should be.

A few of the things, like retired belts being active, have been addressed already since I released the 2nd beta.

The brand split is kinda semi-non-existant at this point, which is why you end up with these weird situations. But I will check AJ - she might be incorrect set as a face.

I've started replacing some the pics that are "too new". I borrowed quite heavily from SAMP and from Forlan's 2016 RW mod. Someone shared a 36K cut pick pack in the nGo style so I've been able to find a few cuts that are more time period correct. Some aren't dated so its hard to know for sure. If you do some, I would definitely be interested in taking a look.

  15. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Atticus" data-cite="Atticus" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="52428" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Did a couple deep games (one in 2027, one in 2021, and one in 2020), hopefully this stuff will be a bit helpful. One thing I've noticed is that a handful of notable yet-to-debut North American male wrestlers on the indies don't really ever develop because they never get signed anywhere, like Donovan Dijak, Brody King, Darby Allin, Killer Kross, Ricky Starks to name a few. In the 2027 save, they all manage to become 40s/50s across the board, but that's only in 2027.<p> </p><p> Guys on the EU indie scene though usually end up somewhere to develop. Tyler Bate basically becomes Tyler Bate of irl. Damon Moser is solid. Can't think of anyone else at this moment for the EU. Same with the Oceania guys, Kyle Fletcher has turned into a pretty good wrestler.</p><p> </p><p> As is the case due to touring shows, the Japanese guys are a bit harder to gauge. In two saves, Shota Umino becomes really good before he even leaves for excursion, but I don't think that's too far off either.</p><p> </p><p> The non-WWE yet-to-debut women end up crushing it though, usually because they get swooped up by a joshi fed and develop into great wrestlers over the years, but no one really becomes stupid overpowered. A handful become good in the early 2020s and then become great late 2020s.</p><p> </p><p> Performance Center crew end up being pretty true to life. Sonya Deville and Carmella usually fare better than most skill wise. However, Lana is the only one who becomes a lot better than she is, but I guess her being allowed to start wrestling 3 years earlier in developmental vs. real life gives her that edge.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Nice. Thanks for sharing. </p><p> </p><p> Reinforces what I observed and kinda expected - development arc tends to be linked pretty heavily to employment situation and for future workers, that's more unpredictable. Scenes like the UK, Europe, and Australia have a lot fewer available workers overall, which makes the debutantes more likely to find work sooner. In japan, they tend to come thru a dojo. </p><p> </p><p> I may end up adjusting the starting skills of some of them, just to make them more likely they get the work to develop. But I don't want to overpower them, either. I may also toy with setting a couple small indy companies to focus on free agents and young workers. I feel like the US indy scene has a lot of companies, but there are also a lot of starting workers and it seems like talented workers tend to end up in several companies, which just compounds the issue with talented but completely inexperienced youngsters not getting a shot anyway. </p><p> </p><p> thanks again Atticus and its an area where some tweaks will be required going forward to get things balanced JUST RIGHT lol</p>
  16. First of all This is a great mod Thank you for your work.

I have a problem with the Mod not knowing if it's supposed to be like this, but after a few months in the game a lot of wrestlers are retiring or left the Business (also active wrestlers under contract).

Is it supposed to be like this or is it a problem in my game?

Are they older wrestlers? Because wrestlers in their later 40s or early 50s will often retire, and even older it becomes more likely. Female talent will often retire in their late 30s or early 40s. If its mostly older workers, its a game mechanic.

  17. I don't know if this have allready been reported, but Joey Janela only speaks japanese. :p

    Good catch.

There are a few of those. Residual data - things that were missed being adjusted when they are converted over. Thanks for picking up on them!

Small Monday update... been plugging away on adding future workers. Finally finished HWRP's list of missing future workers, minus a couple of non-wrestlers. Still have quite a few more to add from another list. I've also begun picking away at doing lineages for some of the alliance belts in the data. Older histories for the Mexican National belts are just a hot, ugly mess in general. Good times.

So two questions for the community...

First off... anyone have any suggestions for how to integrate the NWA promotion? Its not in the data yet but I do intend to add it. I was planning on doing it as a normal promotion and probably making it a part of the NWA alliance but there isn't really a way to have them merge.

Second... anyone doing any long-term soak tests or even running a longer-term game, please keep an eye on the debuting workers. For anyone who debuts notably overpowered or underpowered, develops too quickly or doesn't develop enough....

  18. Possibly considering once things die down a bit picking this back up so just to address this. This is more to do with the game than the data, WWF talent wise is stacked at this time. Whilst in rela lfie they struggled, from a game mechanic point of view due to the talent of the workers they have the AI can always put on great shows.

When a company has a talented roster in TEW, its kinda really hard to keep the AI from doing well with them. The TNA dynamic, going back several versions of TEW. It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to set up a company so that it has talent but the AI won't be successful, in addition to being rather counter-intuitive.

  19. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="forlan" data-cite="forlan" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="52428" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Looking great from what I have seen so far, a lot of effort put into the balancing and it shows <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thank you, kind sir. A nicely balanced game world that is fun to play was definitely something I targeted from the start with this. </p><p> </p><p> Small update... I haven't added many more workers over the past week. Not that I haven't done anything, but I've been focusing on going through all the companies. Everyone does - or should - now have a biography. That includes the dead companies and the future ones. </p><p> </p><p> Beyond that, I also cleaned up the companies a bit. I checked products and tweaked finances. The financial tweaks were necessary and probably not done. Most of the companies were from TEW 2016 data, where the financial modelling meant smaller companies really struggled, so they tended to have pretty big bank rolls so they didn't all die off within a year or two. That's not the case as much on TEW 2020, so companies that had like $250,000 are now at $20,000 or even $5,000. Keeps things more realistic, but it will be something I will have to watch for in testing because it could also be taking them down too low. </p><p> </p><p> All of the future companies have titles and schedules, except for W1's touring scheduling. Debating on putting it in, but I might create at least part of it because otherwise their Grand Prix titles won't be held. </p><p> </p><p> Getting the company clean-up done and the bios completed is a nice step forward. I'm probably not going to worry too much about the outstanding title lineages before a full release, but I do need to have more workers in the data. So that's going to be the focus for the next while.</p>
  20. Don't bother with this one, workers switching to Comedy Wrestler happens in each and every mod, as its one of the styles that doesn't have too many people at the start. It is a game thing, not a mod thing. Only real way to remedy it would be to have more people as comedy wrestlers from the start, which is more like creating the problem to avoid the problem. :p

Ahh thank you for the heads up. There are probably a few workers who could potentially be considered comedy workers that aren`t so maybe a few tweaks down the road will help out with it.

For the Defiant product it would probably be wrestling nerd nirvan or maybe no-style style with a small women's division. They also had a weekly show on Youtube called Loaded. If you need any more specifics feel free to send me a message

Excellent. I do know they started out as What Culture Pro Wrestling. I assume that changing the name was just that and not some kind of massive style shift? Was asked to include a few of the What Culture folks so will try to get them into the data soon.

As an extremely minor update, I've really only worked on is finishing the WWC title lineages. Have 2 of the 3 outstanding ones done and am partway through that final one. Won't be the end of title lineages by any means but those were the nastier ones due to having so many title changes.

  21. Small update.... did a few more companies but focused moreso on belt lineages. Sucked it up and jumped into one of the outstanding WWC belts. A mere 150 entries. The other will have somewhere around 200 each. That's a lot of lineage entries for a belt. I mean, the utterly ridiculous DDT Ironmanheavymetalweight belt has like 950, so having about 550 between 3 belts is pretty bad, even if they go back to the later 1970s.

Yeah I've noticed wrestlers becoming Comedy Wrestlers too. I have a sim that went to 2027 in the first beta and about 100+ wrestlers are Comedy Wrestlers.

I think the "Plays Comedy Well" attribute is the reasoning behind it since it seems like all of the wrestlers on the list have it.

Plays comedy Well or Comedy Match Worker? I gave both of those out to quite a few workers. Might need to be edited. anyone that wants to post a list of who they have noticed switch to comedy (who clearly shouldn't), I can adjust them.

Defiant Wrestling (WCPW) in the UK didn't run for too long but they were pretty big for a while. Adding them in could be a lot of fun. They'd only need to start with potentially one of the Adams (Probably Pacitti) as the owner/booker (Altough I think IRL they were booked by a group of people.) In the first year or so they had some pretty big names wrestle or them including Kurt Angle. Cody was their internet champion for a while as well.

Good shout. I know little of them but I've heard of them enough. I would probably need some details, like product type. Pacitti is someone I need to add to the data, as well.

Just gonna mention it again since it wasn't changed in the first update: SUWA should be GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag champ with Genba, instead of Maybach Taniguchi. Just in case you forgot it or I was just poor with my words when explaining the mix up.

Have to say as a follower of Japan's kickboxing scene, I love the inclusion of Rina Panchan lol. Very surprised when I opened up the mod and saw her, although I'm guessing it's due to her promotional work with Stardom wrestlers at the start of last year rather than someone sharing my niche interests of J-Kick and TEW.

Guilty! I had missed it. Sorry, adjusted now. And changed Suwa to the Maybach Jr gimmick as well. Thank you for the reminder.

I take no credit for Rina. A gent on another site who is pretty plugged in suggested her and the Stardom link made it make sense. I was just looking for some interesting ideas for user characters. I have another 5 or 10 to add at some point but am always open to more. I used to follow Japanese MMA pretty close and did get into some of the kickboxing but pay less attention now, unfortunately.

  22. Quick Monday afternoon update...

    -up to 2521 workers

-OVW title histories are done. I now officially hate any company that does endless 2 week title reigns

-speaking of which.... still several WWC belts to do. They scare me. They have like 200 entries. That's a lot. And probably over 200 because they vacate the belts a whole whole whole lot.

-the alliance titles all need to be taken care of but I'm less concerned about those lineages.

-got some good feedback on New Japan and TNA that has been added

-will be adding in some more retired belts. Lineages for those can come later

-hope to keep making progress on the companies (bios, product checks, etc) and adding more workers

-open to suggestions for more future companies to add. the one already in the data include AEW, Lucha Underground, Lucha Libre Elite, Seadlinning, GCW and OTT. Will be probably adding Defy. Looking for other ideas as well. Might not get added until down the road, but.... suggest away.

The workers I see that you're missing that were a big part of 2CW around this time are Cheech (yes, the same Cheech that was in the tag team of Cheech and Cloudy), Jay Freddie who is similar to an Eddie Edwards type wrestler and has had some matches in Beyond, and Nick Ando (who did a Gilligan's Island Captain gimmick and had a few reigns as 2CW Champ in 2014 and 15. He's kind of more of a brawler type.), Guero Loco/Loca Vida (a luchador from Mexico.......NY who had been in 2cw since the Beginning), Steve McKenzie (a kinda generic dude, but a 2CW original. Makes up the Electric Dream Machine with Guero Loco), Bin Hamin (who is mostly a manager, but has an occasional match. Uses an Arab American/Hacker gimmick, definitely a brawler. Not great in ring), and Slyck Wagner Brown who is another guy that has appeared in 2CW since 2006. He's a good wrestler and could be a good trainer, because that's what he seems to do now. He was trained by Killer Kowalski. And in the Title history for 2CW, Isys Ephex who starts off the current mod won the title from Kevin Steen on 4/19/2013. The game doesn't recognize a date for that title reign starting. :) Other than that, great job with the 2CW section of the mod. I'm having a blast with it.

Good to hear you are enjoying and appreciate the feedback. I've added the workers to the list of to-add workers and should have them in the data before too long.

Been watching WWE shows from 2013 as a reminder of what was happening in the company around that time and I think Randy Orton should be a face at the start of this mod. He was turned on by Big Show at Wrestlemania and feuded with him then started teaming with Kane and Daniel Bryan against the Shield. He turned heel at SummerSlam when he cashed-in on Bryan and joined the Authority.

Also the starting date for the Shield is listed as November 2013 instead of November 2012

Good catch. I will adjust Randy. And I think I corrected The Shield already but will double-check.

As for the previously mentioned observation about workers switching to comedy, not something I've noticed. Could be a bug or a just a random coincidence. But definitely weird.

  23. - Personally I've changed WWE's product to Classic Sports Entertainment, the first show in May IRL they had 4 matches go over 10 minutes. The current product would penalize them for having those long of matches.

Good choice. Honestly, any of the family-friendly SE products would do pretty well for the WWE. Not sure if you saw a page or two ago, but I mentioned (and added it to the Read Me) that if running the WWE, changing the product is highly recommended.

The starting product was selected partly as it still fits the WWE model (mostly) but seemed to mitigate the AI grades just slightly. Its hard to get the AI to book less than ideally and I didn't want to nerf the WWE talent in terms of skills or popularity. But I also didn't want to see 5-10 100 matches within the second half of 2013, let alone beyond. so the product choice was a compromise. But for anyone wanting to book the WWE, definitely a good idea to switch it.

If you ever need any info about workers who worked for 2CW (Squared Circle Wrestling) at the time, let me know. They were the local company here in my area and I am more than willing to help. I see that you have them as "Anti-Establishment Hardcore" whereas I think I'd give them a more balanced product. I'd equate them more to a PWG type company than a CZW/ECW type company. :)

Well that's interesting. One of the things I've been doing over the past few days is going through the list of companies to add bios. I've also been checking the products of each company. And I just did 2CW. I'll adjust the product for sure. Anything else you spot with the, please let me know.

One thing I've noticed is that a lot of wrestlers change their wrestling style to comedy (Jimmy Jacobs and Mark Briscoe just did it in my game)

    That's... weird.

Loving the data, I personally cannot wait for this data to be released fully. A real transitional period for pro wrestling.

First thing I have noticed is that, at the most you have disregarded India in peoples popularity, however there are a handful of wrestlers who have high popularity in India. This leaves a real imbalance in the game.

Most wrestlers have a set popularity throughout the USA, (unless they are more over in a certain region) however Lesnar seems to have a different popularity in each region in the USA - very random.

I think Cena & Hogan should see an increase in popularity, apart from The Rock these two are definitely the most recognizable and (arguably) popular wrestlers on the game.

Sting is the most popular active wrestler in TNA however I would argue Jeff Hardy & Angle much more popular and bigger draws at this stage.

A few 90s legends have quite high popularity compared to other active names in the wrestling world who are much more popular and bigger draws - DDP, Kevin Nash, Arn Anderson, Road Warrior Animal, Ricky Steamboat, Sgt Slaughter & Ted DiBiase Sr.. I understand all these can be classed as subjective.

OVW title histories/champions seem to be have left out.

Women of Honor title seems to be active however didn't come into place until 2017.

Keep up the good work mate!

    Thanks!

Popularity balancing is a work in progress. I've been tweaking things but I'm loathe to tweak too quickly because it can unbalance things. I've probably mentioned this before but the popularity is meant to emulate the "cascading" popularity of the CV, at least with workers who would be globally known. I've tried to take into account level of popularity a company has in an outside area due to the TV deals, etc, but that gets awfully hard to differentiate.

One of the aspects of balancing has been what "feels" accurate and what works in the game. So guys like Cena, Lesnar, Punk... honestly most of the top of the WWE card and a lot of TNA guys... they started out 5-10 points higher but have gradually been nerfed to keep from over-grading. There is also the dynamic of how workers "draw" for one company versus another - Hogan didn't move the needle for TNA at this point. And too high of popularity for him turns him into a "cheat worker" for TNA that the AI just uses to get really strong angle grades every show and inflate show grades, etc.

The inconsistency with worker popularity in India is down to the conversion process. The vast majority of workers for bigger companies were created when this was still on TEW16, where there was no India as a region. So if someone should have some popularity there and doesn't, it wasn't added after the conversion process. Just got missed and because it doesn't seem to have a big gameplay impact, I haven't taken the time to specifically address it yet.

For the "legends" workers, its definitely hard to balance things. Lots of them get a nostalgia pop but wouldn't necessarily move the need for a company as a full-time presence. But I erred on the high side for most of them because they mostly are retired so it doesn't hurt, and it allows them to be a bit more useful to someone as an authority figure or manager, without (hopefully) being a "cheat worker".

I will take a look at the ones mentioned (and any others pointed out), but just figured I would explain the thought process if they aren't changed, or only changed a little. Bigger changes - especially for active workers in a big company - would require a bit of testing to see what impact a popularity bump has.

OVW title lineages are ongoing. Literally working on the tag titles lineage today... and hating on companies that pass belts around every six weeks lol

The ROH women's title is a bit of a game issue. I created it since I had a cut and was going to leave it inactive (retired), but then the AI just creates a different one. Or if they don't create one, the real one doesn't get activated at any point either. So its kinda inaccurate any which way, unfortunately.
