Official "Booking Committee" Thread

If you go with the time off approach, do it within a storyline (if possible).

e.g. Rey Mysterio is walking backstage and gets attacked, out for 30 days. You can disclose who attacked him, or if you're building up a big debut, just reveal it then.
-

Thanks for the clarification. Still didn't like the booking of the match. Would have preferred Strowman to win, but if you're gonna have Reigns vs Undertaker I guess you have to keep Reigns strong going in. -

Glad to see Joe come out a winner. Zayn is meh to me. Agree that Gallagher/Neville was match of the night.

Goldberg/Brock at Mania should go longer (hard for it to not). And it may even set up Brock © vs Owens. I'd like that.
-

Are you saying 4 years because that's when these guys debut? Because you could make the switch earlier (say a year earlier) to start the transition. -

When something is so over the top, I'm skeptical. And whenever anything gets out, it's because someone wants it to get out. I have no knowledge of wrestling contracts, but why would they ask for 10% of the profits from other sources? The "Broken" character is Hardy's, not Impact's right? Not saying that the new owners can't be this dumb, but it just seems...odd. -

I don't care enough about it to really look into it. I just wonder if it affects TV ratings.

I know in football teams who go to OT fare substantially worse the following week.

Could even be seen as more pressure because people are already expecting a certain outcome so the delivery has to be special.
-

Let's hope the execution of the storyline is fun because Bray is "meh" to me at this point.

I do agree with the review a few posts up - very enjoyable show but nothing really stood out. I would have preferred Miz winning EC. His work this last year has been his best.
-

Probably a good thing that I only watch PPVs and some NXT TV. That way I'm not burnt out on the characters. I thought it was a fun enough event, honestly. I'm not heavily invested in the product. Instead, if there's something I see I don't like, I just say "Hmm, wonder why they did that?" or "Wonder where they're going with that?" -

K-Nection - my comment was not directed at anyone here. I think it's great to have a place to vent.
I can't get behind Zayn. Between him and Owens, I felt Owens was always the superior one. I did think it was funny all the apologists coming out when he got hurt during his entrance the first time on Raw (against Cena for the US Title). Good wrestler and whatever you want...just can't get behind him.

EDIT:

Taker/Cena for the title at WM? They'd blow 2 big matches in one?

EDIT 2:

I like that result. Bray wins title at Elimination Chamber and the situation with Randy comes to a head when Orton completes the turn and goes for the title at WM.
-

You also have to look at the age of the fans - those in their 30s likely grew up watching Emmitt, Michael and Troy. It was no surprise when LeBron said he grew up a Yankees and Cowboys fan.

In all honesty though, I'm a proud fairweather fan. I don't have the time (or desire) to follow sports closely and I never really understood a sporting event ruining your day/week. I like getting enjoyment out of watching sports, so more often than not I pick teams on a game by game basis.

Dean then goes on to have a good run with the title and drops it to whoever is most built up (as long as its not Cena or AJ)

Either Cena/Dean for the WWE Title or AJ/Taker for the WWE Title is how I'd book it. Cena gets his final title run, or Taker gets to retire as high as anyone could ask to be.

If we get AJ/Taker for the WWE Title, then I'd personally have Roman or Dean go against Cena. Whoever doesn't get Cena can fight Nakamura or Joe for a one off match and win.

One thing for sure is this WM is going to be the first STACKED WM in a long time. Taker, Brock, Goldberg, Triple H, Cena, Orton, Seth, Dean, Roman, AJ, Bray. That's just the absolute top of the card. Not to mention any special appearances by Rock, Austin, HBK, etc.

If KO is still champion by then, the Universal Title is going to be buried so badly I'd assume. Jericho's outshined him enough as is.

Reigns is getting the Universal Title at RR - at least that's what has been rumored. KO's next reign will be more memorable I think, though I've enjoyed the Jericho interactions.
-

I doubt they would show the chain hitting anyone (or them receiving medical attention). But there have been no reports of anyone getting hurt, so I'll assume it was a close call. I saw Takeover and I saw the Crash Cage commercial...didn't put two and two together - clearly I am not their target audience. -

Do we know for sure that it was his call (on the length)? Do we know that he's not just saying that about UFC/Boxing to throw shade on them - especially since in one you can control the outcomes (and lengths of the events)?

Not to say they do the best job with their programming, but I don't remember Thunder being memorable at all.

Raw is too long, but SD is fine and NXT does a good job of putting out solid shows even when they can be heavy on squashes. They have 168 hours of programming to fill - not all of it can be original content. But it's a smart thing to have some variety (like the Cruiserweight Classic or 205Live).
-

It could still be Brock with a renewed sense of purpose from now through WM and someone else getting the rub then. I enjoyed it. Interested to see what they do with it now.

Maybe people say "Don't bring him back if he can't go in the ring" - but since they did, I think they did a good job with it.
