  1. Can’t argue with anything others have said. You’ve told a fun story of the sale and the emerging storylines have been well done. I too enjoying seeing the various “jobber names” too. Waiting for a women’s job match when we can see Lucy McGillicuddy in action.
  2. Good point I don’t follow MLW but have heard him mention the guys you did like Hammerstone and Holliday. Will be fun to see the lists
  3. Interested to see who makes the list for each. Not sure Cornette could even come up with 10 modern wrestlers to put on his list but this is 3+ years ago. The intrigue is building as I’m looking forward to seeing all 3 lists while trying to remember who was all available when it started. Cornette’s list Punk, FTR (under WWE contract) and Briscoe’s (ROH contract) plus 5 more like maybe Nick Aldis, MJF and Jacob Fatu
  4. Honestly I love the idea. Maybe I’m in the minority but who cares. Will be looking to see how this is booked differently. I’ve been an AEW doubter for some time now and they completely lost me after that idiotic firecracker ring disaster. It started out ok with Cody and Dustin and had potential. So I wish you good luck with this project. This will be the last thing I say about the current “real” AEW product because not looking to turn this into a war of opinions. Looking forward to see what you do and how it differs from what “the Booker of the year” did
  5. I’ll be honest I have heard that as well. I doubt many did but fans back then bought into the stuff. It was so much more fun to be a fan back then over today. I’m sure several sent in money but as all good pro wrestling of the olden days you take a truth or partial truth and embellish it X10. Mega Mahareeshi Imed ( loved that I’m Ed lol).
  6. I always like Easy Ed Wiskowski. I saw the Mega character play out as a spoof on the Bhagwan cult that was in Oregon. Before that he was the top henchman for Playboy Buddy Rose. Wiskowski was so underrated honestly. Does the DeBeers character age well today, no. He was a good heat seeking heel but I’d have trouble writing his promos today. You’ve done a good job capturing his character. The only way to repackage Wiskowski would be to maybe put him in a mask but that would be tough unless he wore an Assassin type body suit. Not recommending that though. But in his next feud maybe he could go after a fresh arriving Ron Simmons before getting his comeuppance in that feud. Pushing Simmons in the feud and setting him up for a huge push.
  7. The AWA definitely needed an infusion of talent coming soon. The problem with the roster was it was aging and dull. WCW had Sid Vicious who the fans wanted to make a babyface when he was part of the skyscrapers. Always wondered what would have happened with Sid as the 90’s version of Hogan. WWF had that but screwed the whole thing up at Wrestlemania in 92. There are some names out there that could probably be had that have more promo ability and some youth that the AWA should go after. Plus you had Herd screwing up WCW at this point as well…..lots of possibilities. Plus the elephant (literally) is a former AWA guy in Japan right now……
  8. FCW Puerto Rican Title Handsome Stranger(c) vs Mutant Mutant won a lot of matches at the 2nd show and could be building for a strong push, but I don’t believe we see a switch here yet. FCW Tag Team Titles Relentless(c) vs Young & Wasted FCW People's Championship Island Boy Apollo(c) vs King Kong Kennedy He just won the title so I don’t see him dropping it here Marco Gonzalez vs Kanishoki The kid keeps the momentum rolling Cobra vs Tex Tegan Ox Mastadon vs Giant Brody Bsttle of the big boys, does the lady prove to be the difference?
  9. Missed the first show to make any predictions but really liked it. Nice to see someone take FCW on and run with it. Will look forward to the next show
  10. Ladies and gentlemen I think we just found out who Lee’s tag team partner will be….. btw I love the rotating jobber names. A nice trip down memory lane…..
  11. Generally I wrote them out before hand. When I was really prepare I would, but a few Tim’s I flew by the seat of my pants. I generally had an outline, would run the event in game and then adjust things as I wrote. But generally I had everything written beforehand
  12. Well gotta say I’m thrilled Vince didn’t get it. Tribune has long been my out partner for the AWA with WGN being the flagship station. looking forward to the future after the long sale journey, which was very entertaining.
  13. Verne, maybe talk to Stu Hart about Vince and his deals. Better be all cash up front and no installments. Remember Verne this (McMahon) is the snake that crippled your company in the first place by buying Hogan and so much of your talent. is an extra $100k or so that important to you. Or is preserving your and the AWA legacy more? Tell Vince to pound sand and go to Hell! Period!
  14. I’m behind and just read the WGN piece. When I’ve had thoughts of doing a late 80’s AWA I’ve always had WGN and Eddie Einhorn as the key central pieces to the stor, trying to replicate the TBS- Ted Turner GCW efforts a decade plus earlier.
  15. I can’t even remember Jerry Allen. Can’t picture him or anything. I’ll look him up. after looking him up that didn’t really do it for me. He looks a little familiar but is certainly no Snake Brown!
  16. Looking forward to this as I’ve enjoyed different takes on the NYCW.
