  1. Ring of Honor Presents: Supercard of Honor 2020 Ring of Honor Presents: Supercard of Honor 2020 Live in Lakeland, Florida Ringside we have Ian Riccaboni, Rob Naylor and AJ Kirsch As the fans filed in they were treated to a very solid pre-show bout featuring The Motor City Machine Guns taking on the NJPW Bullet Club B-Team squad of Chase Owens and El Phantasmo. Phantasmo has been making a name for himself in the pacific northwest and in the last few months has affiliated himself with the Bullet Club in NJPW. Nonetheless, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley's long-time chemistry was on display here and they scored the win here. Post bout, Chris Sabin cut a heartfelt promo taking the fans of Ring of Honor for always demanding the most out of their performers, Sabin says he's taken that to heart and recently was presented with an opportunity to help lead the development and train the future of Ring of Honor with the start-up Future of Honor promotion. He and Shelley embraced in the ring and they left to a huge applause. The Motor City Machine Guns defeated El Phantasmo and Chase Owens (***1/2) ---------------------------------------------------------- The show opens with Bobby Cruise in the ring and making the announcement that this bout will be contested under the Pure Wrestling rules and will be for the Pure Wrestling Title... Backstage we see The Briscoes discussing the attacks that have been taking place and who could possibly be behind them... This naturally leads to an interruption by RUSH and Dragon Lee Jr. who claim to know who is behind the attacks and claim that tonight, when RUSH walks out as ROH World Champion, everyone else will see the truth... Bobby Cruise is standing by with Jeff Cobb who is ranting and raving about missed opportunities and how now it's not about titles, it's about taking scalps. Out steps "Switchblade" Jay White and he says he's not here to make friends, he is here as a mercenary... and he's the only one taking any scalps tonight... and it'll be Cobb's. As they head up the ramp, Truth Martini and the Kingdom of Truth make their way out and congratulate Leon St. Giovanni for becoming his own man... Truth hands the woman a booklet and says take a look at what the Kingdom of Truth can do for you and think about it... Bobby Cruise meanwhile caught up with Rocky Romero who is talking about the upcoming "Past vs. Present" event. Romero says he considers himself a little bit of both the past and the present in Ring of Honor, he says he wants an opponent from the past to step forth and sure enough, Matt Cross appears. Cross and Romero acknowledge eachother and the bout is advertised on the screen. We get a highlight video next comparing the styles and careers thus far of The Amazing and Will Ospreay. That match is next as both men make their way out to the ring. We get an incredible retrospective piece that heavily featured the famous Low-Ki vs. KENTA bout from 2005's Final Battle. Fans were reminded that it was Low-Ki who lost their first clash at Final Battle in 2005. Low-Ki and KENTA both have become world warriors since then and this promised to be a dream match that could have easily main evented the card. Backstage Team Filthy, well mainly just Tom Lawlor, are protesting their lack of inclusion on the show. Lawlor says that he's way more deserving than some of these goons and wants to prove it but hasn't been given that chance... Backstage Jay and Mark Briscoe agree that Mark will be at ringside to ensure that nothing fishy happens and that no one can jump Jay. As we head to the ring, we see that RUSH has brought his brother Dragon Lee Jr to the ring with him as back-up as well...
  2. I don’t tend to be a big “bumper” but in this case I’m making an exception. The actual Supercard of Honor was scheduled to be held on April 3rd, 2020; so with many of us experiencing a quarantine... this diary will post #goingtolakeland tomorrow! Stay safe y’all, and see you tomorrow!

  4. Couple intriguing storylines moved forward here. Looking forward to Full Gear, should be a great card. Omega vs. Devitt will be great. Strong and Spears is intriguing, think that would be a nice "upper mid" feud.
  5. Welcome back, I've always felt like the writing is for you, the timeline doesn't matter. Look forward to following.
  6. ROH TV March 2020 ROH TV Week 3, March 2020 Fresh off Anniversary 18, we are back for three more episodes of ROH TV as we find our way on the runway to Lakeland. We kicked off the road to Lakeland with Nick Aldis, the self-proclaimed National Treasure defending against Silas Young. After another successful defense Nick Aldis is assaulted by Shane Taylor and Kenny King. King launches into a diatribe about how people haven't taken him seriously for a long-time, well things are about to change, and at Supercard of Honor, Nick Aldis will understand what it means when a King reclaims his crown. Backstage Dalton Castle and Joe Hendry go through a semi-satirical skit that results in them agreeing to tag together. The newly rechristened Leon St. Giovanni quickly defeated Eli Isom in a bit of a showcase for the now single LSG. Post-match he grabbed a mic and cut a scathing promo about how Shaheem Ali held him back for the last two and a half years, but now it was time for Leon St. Giovanni to shine... Backstage Jonathan Gresham and Jay Lethal cut a promo on The Top Guys talking about how at Supercard of Honor the Top Guys will fall and the rise of a new tag empire will come with Gresham and Lethal as the rulers of the ring. We return with Castle and Hendry having a successful tag victory against the Top Prospects team of Joe Keys and Lochy Hendricks. Keys and Hendricks both love the ladies but that didn't seem to make them gel as they took a quick L. We cut to Chris Sabin screaming for help as he finds Alex Shelley bloodied on the floor with a note stapled to the back of his jacket warning of an impending "Plague on the horizon for all who stand in Ring of Honor"... Returning to the ring, Jeff Cobb took umbrage with Tom Lawlor and defeated him in the main event of this episode, as Cobb defeated Lawlor he stood above him and made a throat slashing gesture as we went off the air... --------------------------------------------------------------- ROH TV, March 2020 Week 4 This one kicked off with the #1 Contenders Gresham and Lethal scoring a pinfall victory over The Kingdom of Truth in a great opener. Gresham and Lethal really are great team and should be serious threats to the title. The Top Guys are out next to officially tell Lethal and Gresham they will throw-down at Supercard of Honor, and it'll be No Flips, Just Fists. Once again we jump backstage and find someone laid out, this time it is Mark Briscoe and once again there is a note stapled to the back of his jacket, the camera can't catch it all of the note but you can clearly see the words, "Tick tock". Returning to the ring we see Team Filthy secure a six-man victory, their specialty over the makeshift team of Flip Gordon, PJ Black, and the debuting El Phantasmo. Phantasmo will be appearing on the Supercard of Honor pre-show and tonight seemed to be more about him promoting the appearance than him... trying... as he took the loss for his team. Backstage we get another impassioned promo from Leon St Giovanni about why he turned on his partner and why he was happy to be riding solo into the future here in Ring of Honor, he refers to himself as one of the rarest forms of a diamond, "The Black Diamond" We get a video promo featuring highlights of Will Ospreay and promoting his bout against The Amazing Red at Supercard of Honor! In the main event, Nick Aldis defended his television title against Shane Taylor. While Kenny King was on commentary. King excused himself post-bout and leveled Aldis post-bout with Aldis' own belt. King and Taylor stood tall as the show went off the air. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROH TV, April 2020, Week 1. This one kicked off with Hammerstone destroying a debuting Aussie, Adam Brookes with the Nightmare Pendulum. Thus far, Hammerstone has been a wrecking ball with his partner, Odinson, but this was an effective showcase for his singles ability. Backstage we get a promo with Jeff Cobb, Cobb says he's been ripping the days off his calendar until he can challenge for another title and now there are less than 90 days left... and he's got his eyes on a prize... the Pure Title... But until then he'll face all comers, so at Supercard of Honor this is an open challenge... ... Suddenly, JD Drake enters the frame and says that Cobb will have to go through him before he ever can lay his hands on his partner. Cobb laughs and says he'll take care of that in tonights main event... and the open challenge still stands for Supercard of Honor. Another mysterious kanji word appears on the screen... Suddenly it fades out... The announcers say that Low-Ki was targeted at Anniversary and the kanji that was shown then read "Death"... Riccaboni says he's quickly translated this one and it says "Honor"... Suddenly this image appears on the screen... The announcers says, we can confirm that at Supercard of Honor it'll be KENTA vs. Low-Ki in a true dream match!!! Back in the ring, Kenny King is out to prove he is ready to take down Nick Aldis at Supercard of Honor. He has his opponent, Joe Hendry on the ropes and should be able to take him down, but Nick Aldis appears on the ramp distracted King... Hendry takes advantage and rolls up King for the quick 1-2-3... Before he can celebrate, King takes him down, prompting Aldis to run in for the save... but as Aldis slides in so does Shane Taylor, Taylor and King overpower the TV champ and this ends with King standing over Aldis, looking strong going into Supercard of Honor. We return from break, Dalton Castle is providing Joe Hendry with an ice pack and congratulating him on the "huge win"!!! Castle glosses over the post-match beat-down and the fact that he wasn't there to save his friend. In the main event we got an explosive 10-man tag... The Top Guys, teamed with Jeff Cobb, Leon St Giovanni and the returning to ROH, Doug Williams. Williams has been announced as Anthony Henry's first challenger for the Pure Title and in this one they faced off as the other team was Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Anthony Henry, JD Drake and Shaheem Ali. This one saw Jeff Cobb secure the win for his team when he delivered the Tour of the Islands to JD Drake... We went off the air, heading into Supercard of Honor with St Giovanni jawing with Ali, Doug Williams staring down Anthony Henry, and The Top Guys and Lethal and Gresham acknowledging eachother... but in the end the last image was Jeff Cobb standing tall and staring at the screen as someone seemed to answer his open challenge.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- As we near Supercard of Honor there are a couple of final match announcements that were made online prior to the show! In a bout that is bound to have ramifications on the future of midcard titles, Dragon Lee will be returning to ROH as be a part of a fatal-four-way with Joe Hendry, PJ Black and Flip Gordon as the other competitors! We can also confirm that Jeff Cobb's issued an open challenge and that has been answered by "Switchblade" Jay White. Lastly, the contract has been signed, sealed and delivered. We may not have seen much of Jay Briscoe in the last three weeks, but we can now confirm that he will defending the title at Supercard of Honor and he'll be doing it against... RUSH. This dream match will be a first-time collision for these two and is bound to set the building on fire. Especially since their have been heavy rumors that RUSH may be set to join Ring of Honor on a full-time contract, though that is merely that, a rumor for the time-being. The big question here is, have the mystery assaults and notes been from "El Toro Blanco" or is there a more nefarious being behind them! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- With all of that said, here is the card for Supercard of Honor! Supercard of Honor FINAL CARD: Pre-Show Honor Club Exclusive: The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Chase Owens and El Phantasmo Fatal-4-Way: Dragon Lee vs. Flip Gordon vs. Joe Hendry vs. PJ Black Fight Without Honor: Leon St. Giovanni vs. Shaheem Ali The Amazing Red vs. Will Ospreay KENTA vs. Low-Ki Jay White vs. Jeff Cobb ROH Pure Title: Anthony Henry {C} vs. Doug Williams ROH Television: Nick Aldis {C} vs. Kenny King ROH Tag: The Top Guys {C} vs. Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham ROH World: Jay Briscoe {C} vs. RUSH
  7. I just love the vintage 2001 sleaze. Incredible. Great work, per usual.
  8. <p>This is a fascinating topic. I use the in-game notebook to list out the upcoming TV/PPV. Like this:</p><p> </p><p> TV 1</p><p> TV 2</p><p> TV 3</p><p> TV 4</p><p> PPV</p><p> </p><p> Then start to fill in the slots with must have matches, ultimately filling in the PPV card fully. The TV slots generally only have 3-4 matches max pre-determined, then I do the rest based on feel or if they'll progress a story towards the PPV.</p>
  9. ROH Anniversary 18 Ring of Honor Presents: Anniversary 18 Live from Sam's Town in Las Vegas, NV Announcers: Ian Riccaboni, Rob Naylor and AJ Kirsch We get a clip highlighting the history of Pure Title, we see highlights of the previous champions: AJ Styles, Doug Williams, John Walters, Jay Lethal, Samoa Joe, Nigel McGuinness, and Bryan Danielson. We then briefly go over the new ruleset that will be enforced... 1) Each wrestler has three rope breaks to stop submission holds and pinfalls during the match. After a wrestler exhausts his rope breaks, submission and pin attempts under the ropes by the opponent are considered legal. 2) There are no closed-fist punches to the face allowed in a Pure match, only open-handed slaps or chops to the face are allowed. Punches to other parts of the body (save for low blows) are permitted. The first use of a closed fist would get a warning, and the second would cause the wrestler to be penalized a rope break. If he is already out of rope breaks, he would be disqualified. 3) A wrestler is subject to a ten count by the referee if the wrestler goes to the floor and the title will change hands on a disqualification or count-out. 4) All decisions are reviewable by replay and can be overturned by the committee in case the official misses the call in the ring. As Henry and the Workhorsemen celebrate music reminiscent of the British national anthem hits and Doug Williams walks out to a surprise pop. Williams has a microphone and says his congratulations to Henry, before announcing that at Supercard of Honor he's challenging Henry for the title... and at Past vs Present, he'll be representing the ROH Past as the first-ever two-time Pure Champion. As Lethal and Gresham await the next challengers we get a split-screen with Joe Keys and Lochy Hendricks taunting Joe Hendry in the back... this was a pointless split-screen that really didn't serve a bigger purpose... As Coast 2 Coast headed to the back LSG berated Shaheem Ali saying he's the reason they haven't secured any big wins recently... they got to the top of the ramp and LSG suddenly delivered a super kick to the chin of his now former partner, sending him stumbling off the stage as The End made their entrance... Backstage, we see The Briscoe's in their locker room, they just finished watching the gauntlet and discussed how the Tag Division of ROH is part of the lifeblood of the company and that it has brought them to where they are as wrestlers now. They turned their attention to the main event tonight, where Jay Briscoe promised to wipe the floor with Jeff Cobb and walk out as the reigning and defending ROH World Champion. Next there was a video promo highlighting the "Aerial Assassin" Will Ospreay and some of his latest conquests across the globe... Ospreay announces he'll be at Supercard of Honor, and he'll be facing the recently announced, Amazing Red! What a dream bout! Main event time, but before we get there we are rushed backstage where Low-Ki is laid out with a mysterious note next to him written in kanji... Overall Show: ****
  10. Special Announcement of Talent for Supercard of Honor and First Match Special Announcement of Talent for Supercard of Honor and First Match Announced for Past vs. Present! With all this excitement let's not forget about this week's Anniversary 18 Pay-Per-View
  11. ROH TV End of February, Early March 2020, leading into ROH Anniversary Coming off of a successful Manhattan Mayhem we had three weeks of television to build into the 18th Anniversary pay-per-view! ROH TV February Week 4, 2020 We kicked it off with Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham defeating the Mexablood team of Flamita and Bandido in a great opener. This was the best Bandido has looked in ROH and Flamita was fun addition as well, but in the end Lethal and Gresham are the team on the rise. Backstage we see Bobby Cruise standing in front of a case draped in red velvet. The Workhorsemen and Team Filthy join him... Cruise says that as a result of the mayhem at Manhattan... Mayhem. ROH officials have made a unique decision. Effective immediately the Six-Man titles are on hiatus... Before Tom Lawlor and crew can argue, Bobby Cruise rips the velvet away revealing... The Ring of Honor Pure Title... and the Pure title has been reinstated. At Anniversary you six men will do battle, under the revised and renewed "Pure Wrestling" rules and the winner will be crowned the new Ring of Honor Pure Champion. Backstage, Jeff Cobb violently assaults Mark Briscoe. He screams that no one can stop him, leaving him bloodied. The announcers mention that Jay Briscoe is in Japan this week and is questionable to arrive back in town in time before next week. Back in the ring The Horror Kings warm-up for their title shot at Anniversary by easily defeating Ryan Nova and Eli Isom. Post-match they cut a promo on the Top Guys and promise to leaving Sin City with a victory one way or another... Nick Aldis defended his TV title against Lochy Hendricks in an easy defense, post-bout Dalton Castle makes his way out and ask for an opportunity at Anniversary. Aldis seems to confirm it is on. In the main event, an utter dud, Shane Taylor firmly defeated Brian Myers after Kenny King clocked Brian Myers with a bottle of champagne while Taylor had the officials back turned. As the show went off the air, King proclaimed see you in Vegas "Prince, the King is HERE". ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HonorClub February Exclusives As we wrapped up February here were the featured Honor Club exclusives taped throughout the month prior to shows. These three bouts can be streamed anytime through our HonorClub app! The End defeated Tito Escondido and Lochy Hendricks Joe Hendry, Dalton Castle and Anthony Greene defeated Rhett Titus, Cody Hall and Royce Isaacs The Dawgs defeated Coast 2 Coast ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ROH TV, March Week 1, 2020 Welcome to March, Flamita and Bandido team again in the opener and once again come up short as The End (Odinson and Hammerstone) defeated them in another solid opener. Backstage, The Kingdom of Truth is looking to expand its ranks. Bennett, Taven and Truth approach Flip Gordon in the back but he just seems to blow them off, Mark Haskins walks up and says "he's a loser anyhow" but The Kingdom of Truth seem to blow him off and walk off the screen... Nick Aldis continued his TV title defense tour against other former Top Prospect contenders as he easily dispatched Anthony Greene. Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham defeated Coast 2 Coast in a bout that was solid. It looked like Shaheem Ali and LSG had Gresham on the ropes, but Ali went for it all instead of taking advantage and Gresham wound up catching him in the Octopus Stretch submission. Post-match, Ali and LSG looked upset, with LSG walking up the ramp before his partner. Jeff Cobb defeated Mark Briscoe in a great main event. After the bell, Cobb continued to beat down Mark Briscoe, suddenly ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe sprints through the crowd in street clothes, fresh off a plane, to run down and break things up. Jay gets in his face as we go off the air. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ROH TV, Week 2, March 2020 This weeks show opened with a ten-man tag featuring combatants at Anniversary. The Tag Champions (The Top Guys) teamed with The Workhorsemen to defeated the #1 Contenders for the Tag titles (The Horror Kings) and the "former" six-man champions Team Filthy. We are reminded that the Pure Title is back and Team Filthy and The Workhorsemen will do battle to crown the new champion, with the man getting the win for his team being crowned the champion. Thus bringing into play team dynamics and will they be able to handle if their partner is crowned a single champion... Is it unity or division?! Dalton Castle is out next for a quick promo and confirmation that he is challenging Nick Aldis at Anniversary for the Television Title. Flip Gordon dispatched Cody Hall in a bout that saw The Kingdom of Truth watching both men closely from ringside. The Kingdom of Truth tries to slide into the ring to attack Gordon after the bell, but Mark Haskins comes sprinting down with a chair and cleans house... Flip gets up and Haskins smirks and then blasts Gordon with the chair as well... "Overkill" might have a screw or two loose in his head... Joe Keys got on the winning trail as he defeated Joe Hendry in our penultimate match but cameras didn't catch his celebration as they hurried to the back where they found Jeff Cobb standing over a bloodied Mark Briscoe... Jay Briscoe ran in and he and Cobb exchanged blows with the locker room having to restrain both men... Jay Briscoe screams at Jeff Cobb and says "You may not be able to challenge for a title, but there is nothing saying I can't kick your ass at Anniversary, and I'm a fighting champion, so I'll put this belt on the line, and I'll kick your ass all over Las Vegas, DO NOT MESS WITH DEM BOYZ" In the main event, Hammerstone scored a pinfall over Jonathan Gresham, in a fatal-four-way to determine the final team entrant in the #1 Contendership Gauntlet that will take place at Anniversary, Shaheem Ali and Bandido were the other two competitors. All four teams will be in the gauntlet at Anniversary. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ring of Honor Anniversary 18 Confirmed Card Couple unique stipulations here at Anniversary, first the reinstatement of the Pure Title. I actually booked this show back before the actual ROH announced the return of the title. I kinda of dislike the Six-Man titles, though they gave some value to the trios I have, but ultimately I thought this was a unique way to bring the Pure Title back into the picture. As for the tag gauntlet, I've always loved the Wrestle Kingdom gauntlet so what a better way to potentially elevate a team and book a contender for Supercard of Honor. Speaking of that... We have two more MAJOR talent announcements for Supercard of Honor... So... Here is one of them.... Signed and appearing at Supercard of Honor! RUSH appears at Supercard of Honor; Opponent TBA
  12. Just gotta say, I love this. Love the take on a promotion that always has some good names, but frankly I don't know much about. 16K looks great too, fun names.
  13. I just caught up on chapter 8 and 9... I cannot get over the fact that there was a Lion... a real Lion in the ring... I need more Gerald the Lion. Wouldn't be opposed to a title run
  14. I agree with Jaysin, feels era-appropriate and was a big WCW fan at this time myself, so... I', down. Love the format... and the Boogie Knights winning in round one...
  15. Really love Dario's addition, it fits really well and gives the luchas a nice direction. Kip Sabian pulling double-duty, trying to get that pop up or something! Ha
  16. ROH Manhattan Mayhem 2020 Ring of Honor Presents: Manhattan Mayhem 2020 Live from the world-famous Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, New York Announcers: Rob Naylor, AJ Kirsch and Ian Riccaboni ringside Backstage we see Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham having just watched the previous match on a monitor address the cameraman directly saying they promise to make a mark moving forward. We get a pre-taped promo with Jay and Mark Briscoe discussing Brotherhood, and Mark promising to stand by his brothers side tonight against Low-Ki. Backstage, Vincent talks about the path that the Horror Kings have taken and how tonight they will become the #1 Contenders. Backstage "Overkill" Mark Haskins and his wife Vicky tell Bobby Cruise that today begins the era of Overkill and Flip Gordon will learn the hard way... suddenly the cameraman hears something and takes off running down the hall where he comes up Kenny King and Shane Taylor ruthlessly beating down their partner Brian Myers. Taylor lifts Myers and plants him through the catering table. Kenny King stands above him and says that Myers only held them back... now they are heading to the VIP. We get a video package highlighting the conflict between Jeff Cobb and PJ Black, it mentions that Cobb lost his right to challenge for any title for the next six months and his had a bone to pick ever since then. Low-Ki was seen getting ready in the back for his title shot, the cameraman stayed with his as he made his way through the curtain and out onto the stage... The Main Event is next. Overall Show Rating: **** (Main Event and Opener carried the day)
  17. 'The Bulgarian Brute' Rusev [vs] 'The Drifter' Elias 'The EST' Bianca BelAir [vs] Taynara Conti 'The Premiere Athlete' Tony Nese [vs] 'The Archer of Infamy' Damian Priest R-Truth [vs] 'The Samoan Submission Machine' Samoa Joe Tegan Nox & Kacy Catanzaro [vs] Aliyah & Vanessa Borne 'The Extraordinary Man' Finn Balor [vs] 'The King of the 619' Rey Mysterio
  18. Really like the direction you've gone with this, I tend to struggle with how to handle when all the WWE guys magically join a rival promotion, but in this case and in the AEW case, it makes a ton of sense and I love the guys you've brought in.
  19. <p>Ring of Honor February 2020 Recap</p><p> </p><p> With us cruising towards the release of TEW 2020 I wanted to begin to wind us down on easily my longest tenured diary (started in December 2017)... That doesn't mean we are closing up shop just yet, but I did want to at least get through Supercard of Honor and will be moving to a more fast-paced style to get there. 21. Wrestling Observer Newsletter Exclusive: Marty Scurll Update Marty Scurll Contract Status Unknown We’ve long heard that Marty Scurll would be joining All Elite Wrestling in 2020 once his contract with Ring of Honor expired. We have good sources saying that Marty’s contract expired at the end of January and like he hinted in an appearance during Colt Cabana’s Unauthorized Event he is a Free Agent. With AEW currently pushing a storyline featuring the mysterious, cult-like, Dark Order and their leader hasn’t been revealed many of us speculate that Marty Scurll will fill that roll. With that said though, we will just have to keep an eye on the Villain and see where he pops up next… Speaking of Ring of Honor, they have announced another name for their April Supercard of Honor... NJPW’s “Switchblade” Jay White will be returning to Ring of Honor live in Lakeland, Florida. This week leading up to Wrestlemania is always packed with great independent and affiliated wrestling and this year will prove to be no exception! We’ve heard that despite some earlier concerns the NJPW and ROH relationship is stronger than ever, and this exchange for Supercard of Honor will lead to a number of Ring of Honor stars making their way to Japan for a tour with NJPW starting immediately after Supercard of Honor. We haven’t confirmed the names yet, but we’ve heard that this tour will take place through June and the stars who go will likely not be on ROH TV during that time, but will be able to appear at their events, including the Special April Event, Past vs. Present, as they won’t conflict with NJPW dates. Speaking of Past vs Present, we’ve heard that ROH has been reaching out to some big names from their past and we can expect to see a number of former champions on the show!
  22. <p>ROH TV January Week 4, February Week 1, 2020 Plus Unauthorized</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">ROH TV Week 4, January 2020</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> We are back and we are live on your television as we come fresh off a successful Top Prospect Tournament where <strong>Joe Keys</strong> was crowned the 2020 Top Prospect. The show kicks it to the ring where <strong>The Dawgs</strong> are back in the ring. The announcers point out that as a team they haven’t won a match in over a year!… Well that wouldn’t change here as <strong>The End</strong> entered, immediately annihilated <strong>Titus and Ferrara</strong> and took the victory. Post-match, <strong>The Kingdom of Truth</strong> was out with words for <strong>The End</strong>, but suddenly the a spotlight highlighted two men in the cat-walk esque rafters… <strong>Brody King</strong> was holding the Red Balloons again and standing next to him, looking possessed was <strong>Vincent</strong>, the former Vinny Marseglia. <strong>Vincent</strong> spoke stating that “Horror walks among you… and we are coming to steal your soul…”</p><p> </p><p> Up next we had a match that never typically would be given away on free TV as <strong>Jay Lethal</strong> and <strong>Jeff Cobb</strong> did battle in one of for the ages, easy four star bout here. Both men had a number of opportunities to showcase. <strong>Cobb</strong>, coming off a heartbreaking loss to <strong>Lethal</strong>’s former partner <strong>Low-Ki</strong>, and <strong>Lethal</strong> himself stepping back into the ring for first time in over a month after the brutal finish to the Last Man Standing bout with <strong>Low-Ki</strong> at Final Battle. Both men went at it here with solid pace. Ultimately the finish saw <strong>Jeff Cobb</strong> lose focus briefly and <strong>Lethal</strong> catch him with the Lethal Combination for the win… Post-match both men stare at eachother and <strong>Cobb</strong> just rolls out of the ring, looking frustrated.</p><p> </p><p> Back in the ring, <strong>“Overkill” Mark Haskins</strong> makes his way to the ring accompanied by his wife <strong>Vicky Haskins</strong>. Mark has slowly been making a name for himself and now here a mere week removed from his title shot, he’s accompanied by his wife. His opponent was <strong>“Loverboy” Lochy Hendricks</strong>, the Australian import whom <strong>Rocky Romero</strong> has tried to keep focused in the ring. Here though <strong>Haskins</strong> had a clear advantage and scored a quick win.</p><p> </p><p> Backstage, <strong>Joe Keys</strong> is seen taking a selfie next to his trophy. He glances up and says “new profile pic for the ladies to Swipe Right on”… <strong>Nick Aldis</strong> enters the frame with the TV title draped over his shoulder. He scoffs at <strong>Keys</strong> and says that he’ll never be draped in gold like the National Treasure.</p><p> </p><p> In the main event, <strong>Will Ospreay</strong> took on <strong>Davey Boy Smith Jr</strong> of Villain Enterprises in a bout that fell a bit flat. Their styles just didn’t gel here. <strong>Ospreay</strong> used the OsCutter to secure the victory and firmly establish himself as a major threat who just needs a little more to climb to the mountaintop that is the ROH World title… post-match as <strong>Davey Boy Smith Jr</strong> walked up the stage the lights cut out… the video screen flashed a black and white image of a old-worn down ring with a coat rack sitting inside of it, the image slowly panned to <strong>Marty Scurll</strong> sitting at a desk… “There comes a time when even Villains need to rethink, and plan their next assault on society… Thing is, you just don’t know when or where it will happen. You don’t know where we will show up. You don’t know what we will bring… Long Live The Villain…” the screen goes black leaving a bewildered <strong>Will Ospreay</strong> in the ring. Just like after his match with <strong>Jay Briscoe</strong>, post-bout Villain Enterprises had something to say, but this time they used words and not physical, haunting imagery.</p><p> </p><p> ——————————————————————</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-size:18px;">ROH TV Week 1, February 2020</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> Another week, another bout to open us up as <strong>Dalton Castle</strong> took on <strong>Silas Young</strong> in a bout that serves as a partial preview to their tag clash at Unauthorized. <strong>Castle</strong> gets the better of <strong>Silas</strong> here. Post-bout outcomes <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> to a big applause. He reminds fans that he is hosting Unauthorized, and he has just the partner picked out for <strong>Silas Young</strong>! A wrestler who is just as serioushausen as <strong>Silas Young</strong>… <strong>Young</strong> looks pleased in the ring… until <strong>Danhausen</strong> makes his way out…</p><p> </p><p> In the next bout, <strong>Flip Gordon</strong> took on the weird, quirky and humorous <strong>Danhausen</strong> as <strong>Silas Young</strong> looked on… <strong>Danhausen</strong> got some offense in but <strong>Flip Gordon</strong> took home the win in relatively easy fashion… <strong>Silas</strong> walked off shaking his head. Post-match: <strong>Brody King and Vincent</strong> slide into the ring and disembowel <strong>Flip Gordon</strong>, leaving him prone in the ring. <strong>Brody King</strong> ties the balloons around <strong>Flip</strong>’s wrist in the ring as <strong>Vincent and King</strong> walk to the back.</p><p> </p><p> Backstage: <strong>Will Ospreay</strong> announces that he thinks that the Villain is targeting him and he’s not going to play those mind games, in fact he’s going to cut the snakes head off, and he’s going to England to do it… <strong>Ospreay</strong> is seen boarding a flight as we head back to the ring.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Nick Aldis</strong> made quick work of <strong>Chris Bey</strong> in a quick Television Title defense. This prompts <strong>Joe Keys</strong> to come out and proclaim that the National Treasure struggled to beat a man who couldn’t even touch <strong>Keys</strong>… <strong>Aldis</strong> grabbed a microphone and said that if <strong>Keys</strong> were so confident he could have his title shot right now… but <strong>Keys</strong> said he had some other things to do, like answer some messages on Bumble and walked out.</p><p> </p><p> At the farm, the <strong>Briscoe Brothers</strong> are seen. <strong>Jay Briscoe</strong> says that he’s been thinking a lot about Villain Enterprises and how they felt a need to show up at Top Prospect Tournament, he says that around here, we raise men willing to fight, not chickens looking to play games. He said that if <strong>Scurll, Smith or Latimer</strong> had anything to say about that, they knew where to find Dem Boyz… He then turns to his brother and says, “At Unauthorized beat Low-Ki and earn your next shot at my belt”</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> ——————————————————————</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Ring of Honor Presents: Colt Cabana's Unauthorized Event</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>On the heels of the TV Taping, we actually broadcast filmed Colt Cabana’s Unauthorized Ring of Honor Event!</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="tH5YkHl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tH5YkHl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> was out first to welcome us to his show! He said that tonight, Anything Goes!!! and you never know what will happen! As he’s continuing his introductory speech. He’s cut off by Villain Enterprises theme… <strong>Marty Scurll</strong>, flanked by <strong>Davey Boy Smith and Thomas Latimer</strong> make their way out to the ring, all wearing the plague masks… <strong>Scurll</strong> removes his but the other two men keep theirs on… <strong>Scurll</strong> has a microphone and immediately starts: “<strong>Will Ospreay</strong>… you came to find us… but we are right here. We’ve always been here. I told you that we will do this on our terms and I mean it. <strong>Colt</strong>, you said anything goes and this is Unauthorized… well… Consider this a formal warning <strong><em>Ring of Honor</em></strong> that the Villain will make his mark… on his terms… A lot has been made about my contract and the dirt sheets are right. I cannot be bought. I am a free agent. I am a man without rulers… I am after all… The Villain that you need.” Smoke begins to fill the ring and <strong>Scurll</strong> puts his Plague mask back on as he and his crew leave the ring… </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dan Maff vs. Jeff Cobb</strong></p><p> </p><p> Our opening bout is the first “surprise” of the night as <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> has booked a true hossfight. <strong>Dan Maff</strong>, a man who took nearly 6 years off as a pro wrestler and hasn’t appeared in <strong>Ring of Honor</strong> in over a decade makes his way out first to a tepid response. <strong>Jeff Cobb</strong> is out next to a mix or heat and pops. The announcers immediately remind us that <strong>Cobb</strong> lost last month at Top Prospect Tournament and cannot challenge for any title until at least July 2020. After the pleasantries are exchanged these two hosses begin just absolutely brutalizing eachother with both men laying in clubbing strikes. The finish comes relatively quickly as <strong>Jeff Cobb</strong> finally catches the winded <strong>Maff</strong> with a quick hiptoss followed by the Tour of the Islands for the 1-2-3.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Jeff Cobb defeated Dan Maff via Tour of the Islands (**3/4)</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Backstage we see <strong>Cody Hall</strong> taping his wrists up… suddenly a large book is placed on the table in front of him and the cackling laugh of <strong>Truth Martini</strong> fills the room. <strong>Truth</strong> tells <strong>Cody</strong> he saw something in <strong>Cody</strong>’s eyes that reminded him a lot of his former protege. He tells <strong>Cody</strong> to read the book and find his purpose in the <strong>Kingdom of Truth</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> <em>Six-Way</em></p><p> <strong>Colt Cabana vs. LSG vs. Mark Haskins vs. PJ Black vs. Royce Issacs vs. Shane Taylor</strong></p><p> </p><p> Our second bout featured six men who really don’t have much of a tie to one another… Before the bell rings <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> announces that this bout will be a “Proving Ground” match where the winner will get a future Ring of Honor Television Title or Tag Title shot! It is mentioned that <strong>LSG</strong> and <strong>Taylor</strong> both have obvious partners, <strong>Shaheem Ali</strong> and <strong>Kenny King</strong> respectively, but that the other four men seem to be relatively independent. <strong>AJ Kirsch</strong> reminds <strong>Riccaboni</strong> that <strong>PJ Black</strong> came here with <strong>Tracy Williams</strong> who should be back from injury soon and that <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> knows everyone! The match itself was actually an effective showcase for all six men. <strong>Shane Taylor</strong> is starting to come into his own as a big-man with bad attitude and he controlled the pace early. Ultimately<strong> PJ Black and Haskins</strong> picked the pace up and really got things moving. <strong>LSG</strong> scored a near pinfall with an abrupt Sunset Flip on <strong>Cabana</strong>, but <strong>Cabana</strong> managed to kick-out… As <strong>Cabana and LSG</strong> engaged in one corner. <strong>Haskins and Black</strong> double-teamed <strong>Taylor</strong> to the floor… <strong>Royce Isaacs</strong> seeking an opportunity to steal a win then went to attack them both, but instead found himself flying over the ropes and onto <strong>Taylor</strong>… This led to <strong>Haskins and Black</strong> both taking flight and a four-man car crash emerging on the floor. Back in the ring, <strong>Cabana</strong> had <strong>LSG</strong> in the corner and worked him over with 9 punches to the skull… he hopped down and was met by a <strong>Mark Haskins</strong> dropkick sending him from the ring… <strong>Haskins</strong> turned around and was met by a Superkick from <strong>PJ Black</strong> that sent <strong>Haskins</strong> crashing over the ropes and into <strong>Shane Taylor</strong>’s arms… <strong>Taylor</strong> planted him on the mat, effectively knocking <strong>Haskins</strong> out… Suddenly a human missile named <strong>LSG</strong> took flight and took <strong>Taylor</strong> down… meanwhile, <strong>PJ Black</strong> appeared to be ready to fly again when <strong>Royce Isaacs</strong> stepped back in… <strong>PJ Black</strong> started his run towards the ropes but <strong>Isaacs</strong> was there and <strong>Black</strong> instead leapt, catching <strong>Isaacs</strong> as he passed, clipping the ropes with his feet and delivering a huge Tornado DDT squarely in the center of the ring. <strong>PJ Black</strong> made the cover… 1… 2…3… Just as <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> made his way back in <strong>Black </strong>was named the winner… </p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">PJ Black pinned Royce Isaacs and in effect defeated Colt Cabana, LSG, Mark Haskins and Shane Taylor in a Proving Ground Six-Way match. He’ll earn a future TV or Tag title shot at his choosing</span></strong> (**1/2)</p><p> </p><p> Backstage we see <strong>The End</strong> getting ready for battle… in walks <strong>Rocky Romero</strong> with his NJPW Young Lion, <strong>Karl Fredericks</strong> in town. <strong>Romero</strong> tells <strong>The End</strong> that he knows they don’t have a ton in common but tonight… they should really work together and score this win… <strong>Hammerstone</strong> looks at <strong>Romero</strong> and just barks some words at him, as <strong>Romero</strong> leaves <strong>Fredericks</strong> in the locker room with his “partners”</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Anthony Greene and Dalton Castle w/ The Platinum Hunnies (Kammi and Candy) vs. Silas Young and Danhausen</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Greene and Castle</strong> make their entrance first, accompanied by the gorgeous Hunnies. They get kisses on the cheek and do some cheeky things to pop the crowd… <em><strong>“The Last Real Man”</strong></em> is out next looking pissed as usual… He stands at the ramp and barks “COME ON” as <strong>Danhausen</strong> walks out in a full vampire-esque cape… <strong>Danhausen</strong> reveals he has a microphone and has some demands for <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> “Colt… As you well know, Danhausen is Very Nice, but also Very Evil... So before this bout I was promised thinghausens, and they better be readyhausen.” <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> who didn’t leave ringside after his match and has joined the announce table ensures <strong>Danhausen</strong> that “everything is ready...hausen”… And as such <strong>Danhausen</strong> makes his way to the ring… This match is more of a comedy bout than anything. The highlight coming when <strong>Danhausen</strong> gets a hot-tag and tosses <strong>Anthony Greene</strong> from the ring… as <strong>Danhausen</strong> stands on the apron he yells “HIT IT” and suddenly the 1980’s hit song “Tequila” begins to play… <strong>Danhausen</strong> begins dancing to the beat on the ring apron… even the Platinum Hunnies get into it… <strong>Silas Young</strong> meanwhile is screaming at <strong>Danhausen</strong> to focus… <strong>Greene</strong> goes to sweep <strong>Danhausen</strong>’s legs, but <strong>Danhausen</strong> jumps and as the song reaches the part where everyone yells “Tequila” he delivers a punt kick squarely across <strong>Greene's</strong> face… As <strong>Danhausen</strong> continues his dance toward the corner, <strong>Silas Young</strong> tags himself in, to loud boos from the crowd. <strong>Young</strong> tosses <strong>Greene</strong> back into the ring and looks to end the bout, but <strong>Greene</strong> kicks out at 2, and then makes a hot tag of his own to <strong>Castle</strong>… As <strong>Castle</strong> enters <strong>Silas Young</strong> backs into the corner and turns and just tags <strong>Danhausen</strong> back in… <strong>Danhausen</strong> enters, is immediately flattened with a Bang-A-Rang and this one is over…</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Anthony Greene and Dalton Castle defeated Silas Young and Danhausen (**3/4) via Bang-A-Rang</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> We get a promo hyping a match announcement for Manhattan Mayhem as <strong>The Workhorsemen (JD Drake, Anthony Henry and BJ Whitmer)</strong> will face <strong>Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor, Fred Yehi and Josh Woods)</strong> with the Six-Man titles on the line.</p><p> </p><p> <em>Six-Man Tag</em></p><p> <strong>The End and Karl Fredericks vs. Cody Hall and The Kingdom of Truth</strong></p><p> </p><p> The bell rings in this one and it’s <strong>The End</strong> looking to score some level of punishment on the <strong>Kingdom of Truth</strong>, but <strong>Truth</strong> instructs <strong>Taven and Bennett</strong> to immediately tag <strong>Hall</strong> in. <strong>Hall</strong> seems pleased and he hangs with <strong>The End</strong> nicely, matching their strength and size. Ever the opportunists, <strong>Matt Taven and Mike Bennett</strong> only tag in briefly to take shots on downed opponents before passing it back to their new muscle. This goes on a for a couple minutes until <strong>Hammerstone</strong> overpowers <strong>Hall</strong> and <strong>Bennett</strong> is forced to face<strong> Hammerstone</strong> in the ring. They exchange blows before <strong>Hammerstone</strong> whips <strong>Bennett</strong> into the corner. <strong>Hammerstone</strong> tags <strong>Odinson</strong> in and they deliver a huge dual-suplex on <strong>Bennett</strong>. As <strong>Odinson</strong> backs into the corner to prepare for a spear… <strong>Fredericks</strong> tags himself in blindly. <strong>Odinson</strong> delivers a huge spear to <strong>Bennett</strong>, but <strong>Todd Sinclair</strong> won’t count and tells him <strong>Fredericks</strong> is the legal man. <strong>Fredericks</strong> hops in and starts towards <strong>Bennett</strong> but is instead met by <strong>Odinson</strong> delivering a huge lariat to his partner. <strong>Hammerstone</strong> steps in and hits the Nightmare Pendulum on <strong>Fredericks</strong> and <strong>The End</strong> leave their partner out cold in the ring, allowing <strong>Matt Taven</strong> to tag-in and steal the win.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Kingdom of Truth and Cody Hall defeated The End and Karl Fredericks when The End turned on their partner (**)</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> We see <strong>Brody King and Vincent</strong> sitting in a dimly lit room. It appears to have dolls and balloons covering the room… Vincent speaks and says that “Times are dark man… But I’m the savior that you need. Brody here is the monster in your closet, and I’m the nightmare waiting under your bed… We are Horror… We are here for your soul.”</p><p> </p><p> We see what appears to be a photoshoot for <strong>Nick Aldis</strong> set-up. <strong>Aldis</strong> is having some images taken when suddenly <strong>Joe Keys</strong> interrupts and instructs the cameraman that “I need a new profile pic, snap some of me now…” This miffs <strong>Aldis</strong> who immediately shoves <strong>Keys</strong>. <strong>Keys</strong> shoves him back and things get out of hand quickly. Security separates them as <strong>Keys</strong> is yelling something about how <strong>Aldis</strong> violated him and that earns him an immediate “left swipe”. <strong>Aldis</strong> yells “Grow UP” at <strong>Keys</strong> as sanity is restored.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham vs The Dawgs</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Lethal and Gresham</strong> are out second, the announcers ask <strong>Colt </strong>if<strong> Jay Lethal </strong>specifically request <strong>Gresham</strong> or if this was a <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> idea, <strong>Cabana</strong> says that a match-maker never shares his secrets… but that <strong>Lethal </strong>did provide him with a list of names that he was into... <strong>The Dawgs</strong> may be a jobber team, but they are actually solid in-ring workers, and <strong>Will Ferrara and Jonathan Gresham</strong> have a history together. This one was a much better match than anyone would have predicted. It helps that <strong>Lethal</strong> was in it, but he immediately elevated <strong>Gresham</strong> to a level we haven’t seen in ROH. They just seemed to have instant chemistry and that made this a really fun bout. <strong>Lethal and Gresham</strong>, perhaps obviously, scored the pinfall victory and they celebrated together as the announcers mentioned it seemed like we might have just found a new tag-team here in ROH.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham defeated The Dawgs (***1/4)</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Speaking of tag teams, we get the confirmation that at Manhattan Mayhem, <strong>The Top Guys</strong> will grant a rematch to the <strong>Motor City Machine Guns</strong>!</p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44489" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>#1 Contendership for the ROH World Title</em></p><p> <strong>Low-Ki vs. Mark Briscoe</strong></p><p> <img alt="xj4swgH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xj4swgH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="kTDXWu3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/kTDXWu3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QLxbVjg.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QLxbVjg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> The main event featured <strong>Mark Briscoe and Low-Ki</strong> in a bout that we all knew was going to be a barn-burner and it sure delivered. <strong>Colt Cabana</strong> ceded his spot on the announce table to <strong>Jay Briscoe</strong>… and then revealed himself as the self-appointed “Special Referee” for this bout to a big pop from the local Chicago crowd. <strong>Cabana</strong> enters the ring and shakes hands with both men and this one is underway! <strong>Briscoe and Low-Ki</strong> spend some time feeling each other out but then this turns into the slobberknocker we knew it would be. Both men have an extensive history with eachother and it showed in the way they handled one another. The fans are really into this one and <strong>Mark Briscoe</strong> starts to pull out some new tricks to take <strong>Low-Ki</strong> down. <strong>Low-Ki</strong> has some tricks of his own though, and he takes advantage of <strong>Cabana’</strong>s lack of experience as a referee to deliver an eye-rake that turned the tide of the bout. As <strong>Briscoe</strong> is down, <strong>Low-Ki </strong>then started to untie the turnbuckle, which <strong>Cabana</strong> stopped and began to re-tie, with his back turned, <strong>Low-Ki</strong> pushed<strong> Briscoe</strong> to the corner and mounted him for a group of closed fist punches to the skull. The fans began to count, reaching four before <strong>Cabana</strong> turned around and began his own count to ten with <strong>Low-Ki</strong> backing off at 9 and then restarting. Getting in a few extra blows here and there. On commentary, <strong>Jay Briscoe</strong> said he knew that his brother wanted another shot, but that he wouldn’t just had it to him and he wouldn’t help him secure it… they are best friends and blood brothers, but brotherhood means a fair fight… <strong>Low-Ki</strong> rolled<strong> Briscoe</strong> to the middle and climbed up to the top rope…. Warrior’s Way… <strong>Briscoe</strong> moves and <strong>Low-Ki</strong> rolls through… both men to their feet… <strong>Low-Ki</strong> charges, <strong>Mark</strong> catches him with a Spanish Fly. 23. Love it, creative thought process. When they left WWE in my game and joined ROH I renamed them The Top Guys, but went back to their old indy names, I like what you did way more. Really feels authentic to their style. Very nice, cheers.
  24. Yeeeeessssss! Hardy is a perfect fit, and one of two guys I think they’ll use in reality (with Raven being the other). Really like your spin. Curious how you picked the names for The Awakening, DM?
  25. I’m very impressed with the predictions Kijar pulled from page one over two years ago... he must have been watching an old episode on Honor Club ;-). Appreciate the love, just booked Supercard of Honor, so I’m two months ahead, and we finally had a 5 Star (A+) segment... better keep following to find out what it was. Show coming in the next day.
