  1. I guess its the word "dark" that I think gets thrown a lot lately in all sorts of media. A new comedy is "dark" the new direction someone is taking is "dark" when I don't think there is anything that could remotely be "dark" about Ziggler. He's got bleached blonde hair, flashy tights, his nick name is "The show Off" honestly I see him as more of a douchy heel than a "dark" babyface.

Daniel Bryan is a pasty, small, white guy with a giant goat beard that happens to be in kayfabe (and probally in reality too) the best wrestler in the company and is out to prove that his size has nothing to do with his talent. I wouldn't say thats "dark" just driven.

In my opinion Daniel Bryan's character arc is exactly what they should have displayed last year with Cena. A guy on a mission to prove something to himself and anyone else and if you get in the way you're going to be beaten and possibly hurt, a guy that won't stop until his goal is met. Thats Daniel Bryan's character right now which is great, its a fierce, intense, underdog story that they're telling with him.

I just wouldn't call those guys dark just alternatives to the Cena character. So no you weren't clear :)

Also a question I would have for you is if you need all these anti Cena's why don't you need more Cena's? You have what John Cena and MAYBE Sheamus as the smiling, do no wrong, good guys? You got right now Orton, Bryan, Punk, Ziggler and I'm sure others that I'm missing as the anti Cena. So if you need five anti Cena's why do you only need one or two Cena's? In theory wouldn't one anti Cena stand out more than five? I'm not disagreeing with you I'm just pointing out that its not really the "anti" Cena. In fact it has nothing to do with Cena.

I think really what you're asking for is a more diverse set of characters like what you saw in the Attitude era. Babyfaces of different background and character that you can cheer. Such as Austin, Foley, Rock, Taker, they were all babyfaces of a different kind. You didn't have ten Austins running around and then ten anti Austins. You just had individual characters.

Also to reply to SM82 what on earth what makes you think that playing yourself is the hardest thing to do? If someone goes up to you SM82 and says "Ok I'm going to say this and you just reply with whatever you would normally say to that" thats INCREDIBLY easier than for example if someone brought you into the WWE as John Cena's number one fan. Which is going to be easier to get across? Your mostly real feelings towards something? Or something completley exaggerated and unlike you that at almost every moment you have to continue to ask yourself what that character would do and searching for an answer that feels right rather than just replying with what you know to be true to yourself? So yeah I can't fathom any logical reasoning that playing yourself in any situation would be harder.

Wouldn't that be why its so much easier for these mega stars to get over playing an extension of themselves? Was Austin over as the Ring Master? Or was The Rock over as Rocky Maivia? Or Jesse James roadie or Billy Gunn cowboy? These guys got over when they started being themselves. For good reason its a lot harder to make people BELIEVE in a character that you are not. Is it possible? Sure but its a hell of a lot harder to build that connection to the audience acting or pro wrestling than it would be to just be yourself. So I disagree a million times over.

Disagree all you want, but before you do, make some research. Talk to actual actors and ask them. And you'll see what they tell you. Don't take my word for it, do some research.

  2. The thing is I don't think CM Punk is that great of an actor. CM Punk gets to be Phil Brooks every night. Thats not an insult Steve Austin got to be Steve Williams every night, Hollywood Hogan got to be Terry Bollea every night. The Rock get to be Dwayne Johnson, Randy Savage got to be Randy Poffo and so on and so on.

What I mean though its its like Eminem getting praise for his acting in 8 mile. Is it really acting when you're essentially just playing an ever so slightly tweaked version of yourself?

CM Punk is a fantastic promo guys, he's a pretty good worker (his kicks look sloppy and times and I think the GTS is the ugliest, sloppiest finisher in history and wish he would use the Anaconda Vice or something else).

Anyway though Bray Wyatt I would think that he's not really a cult leader in real life or really preaching to the masses about being sheep or what not. Maybe these are some of his thoughts but I would venture to say that Bray Wyatt's character is a farther stretch from who he really is than CM Punk's from who he really is.

Not saying Punk's not awesome he is, and I'm not saying he CAN'T act I'm just saying cutting an old school pro wrestling promo and acting are not the same thing. That being said The Miz can't even cut a pro wrestling promo let alone act so if we're only comparing him to The Miz and others of that ilk then I would think Punk would be DiNero on film compared to those guys.

Dude, playing yourself is the most difficult type of part to play.

Also: I am here to agree that he's (Cena) the worst thing in the world and i want to petition you guys to tie him up and burn his house down with him in it. You're Wellcome. :D

Cody's the guy that needs to be focused on. <p> </p><p> Agree that Christian is now just looking old and not great, he really shouldn't be a focus. I mean, neither should Jericho, but Christian is the <em>other</em> "old, small Canadian babyface" right now. Not exactly a recipe for success.</p><p> </p><p> The issue with the Shield seems to be that WWE has gotten them pretty over, but don't seem to have much for them to do. I mean, at least they're not losing every week like every other midcard champ, but defending their belts feels like kind of a waste of time considering where they are right now. I'd love to see them destroy Jericho and Christian for a month or so (call them the Canadian Cool Dads) rather than try to make anyone care about a tag division that WWE forgot about for about six months.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Disagree 1000%. I hate it when a heel starts getting cheers and immediately starts smiling and high fiving people coming down the entrance ramp. The fans are cheering for Cody and Ziggler because of circumstances that made them sympathetic. I'd much rather they gradually kind of come around to more of a babyface role while still doing the things they always did. I hate when a heel turns face and suddenly Kofi Kingston is totally cool with teaming with Ziggler, a guy he wrestled roughly 16,000 times without a word backstage of "hey I don't like you, but let's work together."</p><p> </p><p> And if your issue is that you just don't understand why the crowd was sympathetic... it was already explained. Cody showed fighting spirit, and Sandow was a liar who took advantage of the situation. The "every man for himself" rule ignores that the whole point was to get the crowd to want Cody to win, just to have Sandow snatch it away.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm not saying a face turn has to be acting like bland super cena and i even agreed the situation at the PPV was good, but i don't see Sandow as the bad guy here. Sue me. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  5. <p>And Sandow winning his MITB match does not make him a guaranteed star, unfortunately. It's like Dolph Ziggler all over again. And I'm not really surprised tbh. Let's look at how they book their world titles.</p><p> </p><p>

"Winning John Cena" Championship: This is the main title in WWE right now. If you actually manage to win Cena at a main event of a PPV, you have won the most coveted title in WWE. Heck..winning? You're even lucky to wrestle him at the ME of a PPV.</p><p> </p><p>

WWE Title: This one is treated like a post-Jordan Chicago Bulls. Which means: Congatulations, you're on NBA, but you suck. No one even cares.</p><p> </p><p>

WHC: This one is the B-leage. Enough said. </p><p> </p><p>

If this is how they book the world titles...im not surprised at how they book MITB winners, especially Smackdown's.</p>

And I'll take it a step further, Cody's turn also makes no sense because it was an every man for himself brawl.<p> </p><p> What was sandow supposed to do? Clap and wave at him? Not sure why it's a face maneuver to get outworked by another guy in a winner take all match, regardless of the fact he's your tag team partner.</p><p> </p><p> If they had both been faces going in, sure, then you have the whole betrayal stichik.</p><p> </p><p> Interested to hear Cody on a mic trying to be a face. To me he has great heel mannirisms and talking skills. not sure how it's going to translate to being a good guy.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Amen to all of that. I mean, the moment itself was great, but it is not a turn by itself. If they had worked on it, built that in the weeks before the mach, with subtlety, than that moment could have been the climax of a good turn. Instead...it makes no sense to me. When it comes to logic, I mean.</p>

I just think that since it was the main event, it should have lived up to those stantards as a match. I don't think it did, I couldn't care less about Orton winning, not because i dislike him, but because it was a weird, non dramatic, anti-climatic finish. I guess someone must have thought: "No one is expecting Orton to win, especially the smarks, since they know he's on the limbo since his second strike. Boy, the shock of him winning should raise some buts out of those seats."</p><p> </p><p> Guess what? 8. This had all the ingredients to be a great PPV...and it ended up being...average. All Stars MITB was slow and disapointing...And The WWE title match not main eventing the PPV was dumb booking. Cena is always on The main event, except when he should be. I support the MITB match to main event...if it had the quality to do so. Putting it as ME just because they would get an RVD cheap pop is lame booking. I will riot if Brock vs Punk is not the ME for SummerSlam. Sandow winning was gold, i marked for Rhodes when he was almost winning, but i marked even more when Sandow went for it. Gold. Ryback's match with Y2J was actually better than expected... but that was an asinine ending. Henry vs. Cena was dull....man, so dull....but after the ME that followed....i have no idea why it didn't main event the show. And i'm anti-Cena. Also...Axel interfering didn't made sense. He really wasn't needed there. The idea it gave was that Punk could only have won because of Axl... Wouldn't it be much easier to have Punk almost winning and then Heyman comes and screws him? No...instead we have: Axel interferes...leading to a Punk win...and than Heyman screws him. It was a subtle, as well as dramatic as the same time, turn that could work well in other scenarios, if well done, just not in today's WWE.
  9. I'll be honest, the pre-show and WHC MITB match were both so good that the rest of the card did seem a little weak. The IC match was alright, Diva's match was pretty good, and hopefully Ziggler benefits long term from what happened/will happen with AJ. Ryback won in a way that made him look weaker than if Jericho had won and Ryback destroyed him after. That baffles me that they can't book him right AT ALL. The crowd kinda took me out of the WWE Title match, they didn't want to really cheer either guy it seemed. The end result to the All Stars MITB is what I wanted, but are we really getting Bryan/Axel instead of Bryan/Cena? I hope not. All in all, the rest of the card didn't live up to the first two matches imo, and that really hurt my enjoyment of the event.

Yeah...and the all stars was one of the slowest MITB matches i've ever seen. It could have been great. I still don't know what Axel was doing there, but Cena-Bryan at this point seems like a mirage.

  10. The All-Star MITB Match had the most god awful ending I have ever seen. It wasn't a bad show, it ended on a really crappy note. The first MITB match was solid, the ending was creative. The IC match was just dull. The Divas Title match was good, better than the normal diva garbage. Ryback-Jericho was pretty boring. The WHC match was okay, but Del Rio is just dreadfully boring. Cena wins, big surprise. It really was a solid show, I just don't get the ending. Randy Orton got zero response from the live crowd. I am not a fan of his, I think he is super dull, to me he always has been. But, he has been pushed as a mega superstar on Cena's level forever. So, shouldn't he have gotten a better reaction other than dead silence? I love the direction this company is going right now, I think they are so close to something special. It's just moments like this where a poorly scripted match or a dumb ending ruins a show. Just like Wrestlemania 29.

Wrestlemania 29 was just awful, Nothing could save that. :D I had 100 % sure Orton would not win...and he won. Why? To get a 3rd strike and firing during his title run? Awesome.

  13. It might be harder to learn grammatically but learning it conversationally it isn't as hard. Maybe its harder for him who's from Mexico City compared to someone like me who's from Coahuila which is the state bordering Texas. However there's similarity between the Spanish language and the American english. In addition a lot of schools teach English much like here in Texas they teach Spanish or French.

Through I wouldn't let him cut live promos he could still do interviews for the youtube shows. Rey Mysterio was a great tag team partner as Rey can cut promos and as the older more established star no one would question Sin Cara not speaking.

Sin Cara could very well use a valet to speak for him as I don't really see him with an actual manager since managers are mostly used as interference for heels. A good looking girl who can cut the promos backstage for Sin Cara and be his damsel in distress could really help his superhero like character.

I don't mean to attack morrison but his stament was by far the most idiotic thing i ever saw. English is the most easy language to learn IN THE WORLD! Written or verbal. Portuguese is universally know as the most difficult one to learn. Most languages that descend from latin are, but english is not one of them. Im on my phone now, but when i arrive home, if you want to, i will break down to you how english is easy.

So there have always been these types of fans.<p> </p><p> I guess to a lesser extent you could look at Terry Taylor who was never able to live down the Red Rooster gimmick for the rest of his career. That one gimmick killed his career <strong>because the fans would never let it go</strong>.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> There you go. There is the explanation. In the same way there are career making moments, there are also career killing ones. Maybe the Husky Harris gimmick was one of those moments, but hopefully not. In these moments, it really doesn't matter how good a worker is or how many like him. Once you hit that "red rooster" point, there is no coming back. But i don´t think that is the case here. Crowds are easy to manipulate. All it takes is one guy that hates husky starting to scream his name, and a lot of people that don' t even remember that gimmick will start chanting too....like sheeps...oh the irony! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Also, am i the only one thinking that ryback will get involve on that whole Mcmahon-Helmsley 2.0 feud featuring Vickie Guerrero?</p>
  20. No one said life was fair. Sorry, but it is what it is. I'm not saying i like the chants, and i wouldn't do them, but if he lives to his potential the chants will go away. If not, pack and go home, so to speak. Is the audience being hypocrit? Sure. But they paid tickets. They can chant whatever they want.

Edit: again, not saying i agree with the audience. But i get it.

  21. So you think that everyone should be reminded of past gimmicks with nothing to do with current gimmicks?

Kane was a scrub dentist beat by Taker quite easily in a SvS match a year prior to him utterly destroying him, but nobody should have took him seriously since he was repackaged correct?

No. Never said that. I think that if he's not capable of making people forget about the past gimmick, he should pack and go home. Might sond cruel, but that's how it works. Kane is a good example. No one remembers Isaac Yankeem because Kane made a good work making sure they wouldn't.
