  1. > And it was Hidaka who challenged Koji Iwamoto to a match in real life Hashasheen and Dyllan got it right. I may have been on a Discord where someone was discussing the news and pointed out Hidaka had worn a suit similar to that show in the photo by AJPW. Also, don't know if you saw the news about Koji Doi joining Enfants, but I wouldn't mind seeing him reunite with his buddies here as well!
  2. <p>NWA World Heavyweight Championship: <strong>Ric Flair © </strong>vs. Stan Hansen - 60</p><p> NWA International Tag Team Championships: <strong>The Funk Brothers ©</strong> vs. Giant Baba and Jumbo Tsuruta - 60</p><p> PWF World Heavyweight Championship: <strong>Harley Race ©</strong> vs. Atsushi Onita - 60</p><p> <strong>Genichiro Tenryu </strong>vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu - 30</p><p> AJPW All-Asia Tag Team Championships: <strong>Mitsuharu Misawa and Kodo Fuyuki ©</strong> vs. Mighty Inoue and Goro Tsurumi - 60</p><p> Chavo Guerrero vs. <strong>Masanobu Fuchi </strong>- 30</p><p> Motoshi Okuma, The Great Kabuki and Magic Dragon vs. <strong>Tiger Jeet Singh, Ashura Hara and Tarzan Goto </strong>- 20</p><p> </p><p> TIEBREAKER: <strong>Ric Flair vs. Stan Hansen</strong></p>
  3. Champion Carnival - Block A: Suwama vs. Jiro "Ikemen" Kuroshio Champion Carnival - Block A: Zeus vs. Kuma Arashi Champion Carnival - Block B: Yuma Aoyagi vs. Shotaro Ashino Champion Carnival - Block B: Shuji Ishikawa vs. Yoshitatsu Ikemen must die. Who's the Junior challenger?: Ikuto Hidaka!
  4. Champion Carnival - Block A: Jake Lee vs. Jiro "Ikemen" Kuroshio Champion Carnival - Block A: Suwama vs. Kuma Arashi Champion Carnival - Block B: Kento Miyahara vs. Yoshitatsu Champion Carnival - Block B: Shuji Ishikawa vs. Yuma Aoyagi I dislike both men, so Kuroshio vs. Lee will be a draw. Kuma Arashi gets a spectacular win over the Triple Crown Champion to set up a challenger, Miyahara beats Yoshitatsu and Yuma Aoyagi is close but not close enough.
  5. Lizzy Valentine actually appeared for TNA in their early years as a heel with Trinity, in a feud with the cage dancers. That era of 'women's wrestling' failed miserably and everyone involved kind of got sent out of the company fairly quickly. She's also a Homicide trainee. Edit: Oh damn, you really wrecked things for yourself.
  6. Hence you should be pushing for more Amish Roadkill in WCW - STL, not Luger!
  7. You have to remember Togg, Historian loves taking big heavyweight wrestlers not worth a damn and making them the next Bigelow or Vader. Luger's just an extension of that.
  8. <p>I've been thinking about an HGC retro-brand being a part of TCW as a secondary or supplementary brand. The idea would be that (much like IRL TNA and WWE), the Brico people reach out to JK Stallings, who agrees to come back as a personality to headline the brand and offer something different to bring back ex-HCG / ex-TCW fans. </p><p> </p><p> Now, I'm struggling on two fronts: </p><p> </p><p> 1. Should this simply be a straight HGC throwback, with whatever veterans of that period on the roster plus some fresh guys to work with? Or maybe I should take it in another direction, and have it be Stallings presenting a whole new roster of rookies and veterans... that is to say, female rookies and veterans? The idea would be that Stallings matured as an indie smark as he got older and is now all about women's wrestling as he got burnt out on men's wrestling after dealing with Strong, Chord and the rest as the boss.</p><p> </p><p> 2. What would this retro-HGC be like? In my head it's kind of like WCW was under Bischoff as opposed to the more straight-laced TCW mimicking ROH, but in trying to condense it to a one hour show I'm trying to pick out branding and themes. Obviously a bit more hardcore than basic TCW, maybe a little more into the characters and mood. Maybe a little bit more cinematic even, ala an LU or WWE atmo. This extends into the title scene as well. I'd do an HGC TV title either way, but TCW's kind of stolen thunder on that one, so I'd have to rebrand the TCW title as something else. </p><p> </p><p> So, any suggestions or thoughts?</p>
  9. Yeah, half the current AJPW roster of regulars came from like BASARA, OPW, W-1 etc... and you have a situation where one guy being brought in full time will recommend others. Zeus for example was an OPW guy (one of three heavyweights), and he probably brought in Atsushi Maruyama who was a trainer and top guy in OPW. Meanwhile Ryouji Sai is ex-ZERO1 so he can bring in ZERO1 alumni, but he's also got a dojo so Daimonji So comes in as his trainee to work undercards. TAJIRI meanwhile has the WNC and W-1 connections so there's your Jiro Kuroshio or Enfants, but he's also still working in Europe a lot so he'll grab an Italian guy while an Ultimo Dragon might recommend a gaijin slumming it in Mexico. And I think Atsushi Aoki and Shuji Ishikawa started reviewing the UK indies since Wrestle Gate started booking AJPW wrestlers, so you've got that connection as well. It's not QUITE a replacement for the gaijin roster of the Baba years where one guy would chain in another (especially from the Florida scene), but it's organizationally the same.

I think investors he had brought in were expecting more.</p>

I guess AJPW might be being a bit petty or something since he's now freelancing for DDT.</p>
  12. Not sure why you don't have Jun Akiyama in a Memorial match. He was Atsushi Aoki's trainer and one of his closest friends. They also booked and ran AJPW together.
  13. Nobody really remembers Bam Bam for fighting Goldberg or Stasiak though. Lawrence Taylor was a much bigger deal.
  14. Well, this is certainly something I didn't expect to see. Looking forward to seeing what miracles you work!
  15. You know, piecing together Hardy and MCMG is something I've never thought about but makes a lot of sense. They do really occupy that same sort of sphere, though MCMG never got to burn as brightly as they could whereas Hardy maybe burnt too bright...
  16. Well it's kind of interesting to me, because you're taking the time to explain what specific wrestlers mean to 5SSW and to you personally from previous games, so it gives me a better feel for who these wrestlers are on the canvas, so to speak. Whereas otherwise I'd just go "Higa is a great wrestler and mega-asshole" as the extent of my knowledge, being someone with a very superficial awareness of CVERSE Joshi.
  17. Really enjoying this. There's something about the perspective of a dad, his wrestling daughter, his business stooge and the dirtsheets coming together to view 5SSW that's making it more accessible than any dynasty I've read before on GDS.
  18. I mean, don't get me wrong: I'm even more interested now in seeing who you're going to try and pick up, push and make stars out of. I'm thinking there might be a few guys from Japan and Mexico who you'll be considering...
  19. Some thoughts: I firmly believe that Big Boss Man, Road Warriors, Roddy Piper, Shane Douglas, Ted DiBiase and Texas Tornado would be fine to hire. They might be ‘Titans’ now, but they’re all have NWA history, Mid-Atlantic history or JCP history. As for the free agents… Bad News Allen is Canada / Japan for me, Blackjack Mulligan is a southern name, Kamala is from Georgia, One Man Gang worked in the South and Wendi Richter is kind of useful if you’re going to do anything with women’s wrestling. None of those mean much to WCW though in the long term so, so its whatever. The third section is mostly fine. Jacqueline did work for WCW, and Ivory was an indie girl for years on end so I’d relent on those if women’s wrestling matters to you at all.
  20. You should keep an eye on what he does when he first goes in. If he shows up to just do a job on his first show Marv should call him up and blister him proper.
  21. Shawn Daivari, ODB and Ken Anderson are all very close friends IRL and I think Daivari and Anderson have a training school together. So that could be a good stable of heel buddies you could put together...
  22. https://twitter.com/WWEotd/status/1287359516607238144 Found something that reminded me of the dynasty.
  23. I've always had a soft spot for old buzzcut, so I'm not complaining! He's someone I'd push to the main event in older versions of USPW. How's he looking for you? Time decline? Menace still holding up?
  24. <p>> The Big Problem is in TCW. </p><p> </p><p> Huh. Guess there's a time and a place for everyone.</p>
