  1. If you go into "relationships" and talk to your child company and end their agreement to accept your developmental workers they will hire their own staff. In a game i'm running I have 7 child companies lol... only one is my actual developmental territory where I staff it and send people there. It's a LITTLE annoying to have to staff refs and road agents and managers and stuff like that. But the trade off this year is that workers seem to complain about being in developmental a lot less.
  2. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Remianen" data-cite="Remianen" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47568" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>If you buy a company that already exists, they can run their own affairs (and they'll tell you 'no' when you try to exceed their maximum roster, for example). If you create a promotion from scratch, it is totally dependent on you for their personnel.<p> </p><p> In TEW20, it's a better deal to come to agreement with an existing company to accept your developmental workers (ala WWE and EVOLVE) if you don't want minute control over the developmental promotion.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ok so it turns out you CAN make a company yourself that runs itself. You simply have to take away the ability to accept developmental workers.</p><p> </p><p> So you create the company in "Investments". Then in your "relationships" tab you just can cancel the agreement to accept developmental workers for the new company. After you appoint an owner and booker it will staff itself. It takes about a week or so to start seeing theresults. You can borrow from them like a developmental company (i think...this is all off the top of my head) but you can definitely take people from their roster like you would a developmental company. The AI just hires them.</p><p> </p><p> Thats the thing. You can either FULLY staff developmental or you can have AI do it. You just cant have a mix between the two. </p><p> </p><p> MAYBE down the road if the AI hires a full roster, maybe you can make a new agreement to send developmental workers there and it's somewhat mimics the old system. That way you have a few of your guys mixing with veterans they hired. You'd likely have to staff them from that point on fully though. I dont know im not far enough along to mess with it that much yet.</p><p> </p><p> I had this question myself this morning and just figured it out. I wanted to create an international alliance of smaller promotions but i didnt want to staff all that myself. This is how I have started doing it.</p>
  3. I honestly was happy with the original version but i love how Adam took the criticisms seriously and just made what was already great even better. I was a little disappointed by the delay but I can see the time was well spent. The UI is beautiful you guys did an amazing job. I'm so happy with the hard work you folks all did it's fantastic. Long time fan of Grey Dog here and its good that my commitment has been worth it. Thank you so much to all all of you. This is a great game and frankly theres NOTHING that does what this game does as well as it does. It's the gold standard in wrestling booking simulators.
  4. Can't book a time traveling match at wrestlemania 1/10 jk obv its great i was a little late to the party busy with work and all but i finally got my hands on the demo I'm loving it absolutely loving it. Cant wait to play the real game in a couple weeks and see where my young company is going to go.

Got too busy playing No Man's Sky again so I'll wait until it's patched up and officially released.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yo they made No Mans Sky good tho</p>
  6. I'm really digging Ruiner and Absolver. Devolver is batting a thousand for me right now.
  7. <p>I like it and all. I'm playing it right now. Having fun already and considering they are going to add features and tighten up whats already there, it's well worth $20.</p><p> </p><p> But... it really highlights how far wrestling games have come and how silly it is when people say this series is a more accurate simulation of the "real sport" of pro wrestling than the current WWE games.</p><p> </p><p> I always say to the people that still harp on about how awesome No Mercy was, I say "play it and come back to me". I like old wrestling games, don't get me wrong. I just had a No Mercy night at my friends house with some beers we had a ton of laughs. But the newer games are just a thousand times better in every way. </p><p> </p><p> Still, what a wonderful trip down memory lane FPW is. The infinite created wrestler slots is clutch.</p>
  8. <p>Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is awesome!!! Its exactly what it says it is: Commandos in Edo period Japan. Fantastic game. And it looks absolutely terrific on my desktop which was old two years ago. Theres been a few glitches and its pricey for Early Access, but its basically the finished game. </p><p> </p><p> I sprung for a Steam Controller on Black Friday and I've mostly been annoyed with it. Its big, uncomfortable, and clunky. I have to say Shadow Tactics uses the Steam Controller well though. I almost feel like its the way to play. The controls took some time to get used to but I ended up preferring it to my K/M.</p>
  9. Is it content? Like if they're conservative and you offer risque content they might not sign.
  10. Forza Horizon 3 is great! It's one of the most graphically beautiful games I've seen this console cycle. It's a lot easier to get perks and level up this time around. It's just a joy to float around Australia. I'm loving every second of it. And my club hit number 1!!!! In the world!!!!!
  11. Elite Dangerous is a great game! I didnt buy it yet but its on sale on XB1 so im thinking ill get i to it. Just looks like a massive time sink, which is a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Im surprised with all the bashing of No Mans Sky none of those players looked to the Starpoint Gemini series, of which Im a huge fan. It has all the exploration NMS promised and its not as hardcore or "griefy" as Elite Dangerous. The new game is in alpha and still needs a lot of work but I picked up Starpoint Gemini 2 on sale for like 10 bucks and played the crap out of it.
  12. <p>What was promised in No Man's Sky that didn't deliver? I'm not asking that like a smartass, I'm seriously asking. I don't pay attention to video games journalism at all anymore so I'm pretty far removed from the hype machine. </p><p> </p><p> Although in this case not paying attention to hype seems to have paid off haha. I adore No Mans Sky I think it's great. I've already put an easy 40 hours into it and thats my gold standard for a great game: anything I can get a solid 40 hours from. I'm definitely going to put in more. I love it so far and I'm not even close to the "end". I wouldn't say it's game of the year or anything. Not even top 10 probably. But it's fun and I don't feel ripped off at all.</p>
  13. <p>Some games I put down for awhile and pick up later. Rory McIlroy, EA MMA and UFC2 are great examples of games that got better after months of release. I mean... i think it's a travesty that one of the top publishers in the industry has the audacity to release what they basically admit is an unfinished game. Dont get me wrong I'm not praising EA here. But at least they put time and money into making the experience better. Makes that "EA Access" deal a lot more appealing knowing that it's better to just wait awhile for most of their games.</p><p> </p><p> I initially picked up Arkham Knight and thought to myself "Wow this is amazing!". Then, a few days into owning it, I found myself having a real hard time turning that game on. It just wasn't fun to me. I had just beaten "Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Mordor" and I thought Arkham Knight was technically superior but a much less fun game by comparison. The story was cool sorta. Not as good as the previous games Rocksteady Batman games though. And I saw the "twist" coming from a mile away. And it was a weird twist. It wasn't particularly well disguised to hardcore Batman fans and to those that weren't... they couldn't give the tiniest dump about the character who took up the mantle of the Arkham Knight. I just kept thinking "Who did they write this for?" </p><p> </p><p> Picked it up a week ago and fell back in love <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Can't tell you why but it probably has more to do with me re-watching BvS and reading some old Loeb and Sale comics. I dont think they changed the game much though I swear the Batmobile controls better but maybe it's just me. For whatever reason I was into it.</p><p> </p><p> I think a game, and its genre, are more compelling to me based on my mood. Lately there's been some decent UFC cards and I've been into UFC again as a TV show so I find myself enjoying the game more. One lends itself to the other. I might go see a really cool action movie like Hardcore Henry which sent me into an FPS kick for a month or so. Or recently I dug Forza Horizon 2 and then caught Fast and Furious 7.... so I ended up watching the entire film series and playing FH2 for hours in between. I'm not a car guy I just was into cars for a little bit for a month. Is that weird? I don't know it's how I've always been. I'm a moody gamer <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I recently re-read a bunch of my favorite Loeb/Sale Batman books so I'm really tempted to pick up this Batman game but I have a hard time believing I'll want to play a slow point-and-click adventure (a genre I've never loved) for the next FIVE FRIGGIN MONTHS. I watched some guy "play" it online and it didnt look like he was doing a lot of playing. Looked like a lot of watching stuff happen and him pressing "A" when the game told him to. Of course I'm admitting this is a poorly informed opinion. I've always just felt like I was on the outside looking in when it came to Telltale games. I've really tried to like them. There's lots of games like CoD or Halo that I just dont like anymore but I can at least see why other people do. I dont get the Telltale games. I've tried to like a bunch but I think they're all just boring after awhile. I tried TWD and I can dig it for a little bit but after an hour I feel like I've been playing for days and I just have to stop. Oh well, maybe I'll get Batman on sale in a year and it'll be the kick in the ass I need to get me into this popular genre.</p>
  14. <p>I picked up Forza Horizon 2 a few weeks ago when it was on sale and I found it to be excellent. The graphics are great and it's a great balance between great handling and fun gameplay. I had a hard time getting into previous Forza games, but for whatever reason I played the crap out of this one.</p><p> </p><p> UNTIL I got Ark: Survival Evolved. Haha. Holy crap did that game suck up my life. I DLed the preview on XB1 and fell in love. I've just been messing around with single player on super easy settings. But it's a great little game already and it's not even done. $35 is a LITTL steep for an indy game, but I think as fans of GDS games we can all agree sometimes those indy games can be amazing experiences.</p>
  15. <p>Witcher 3 is sooooo good, but considering they're not into WRPGs they probably won't be into it. But that game really is one of the rare few that live up to every word of the hype.</p><p> </p><p> In other news I've been way into board games lately and it's killing my video game time. But I was a fan of "This War of Mine" on steam and i just picked up "The Little Ones" on XB1 since it's on sale this week and wow... yea really great little strategy game. For whatever reason these games just get to me. I find they really immerse me in that awful world and I find the choices I make to be very serious. I'm sure not everyone will share that experience, but its one of the rare few games that makes me actually feel something. </p><p> </p><p> In a similar vein I played Life is Strange as well and again... blown away on an emotional level. I typically wouldn't be able to get into a game like that but I went in knowing nothing and expecting anything, and I think that's a good mindset to have going into that game. Really great experience.</p>
  16. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="BiffJordan" data-cite="BiffJordan" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>How can I get my touring development territory a tv deal?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I think if you make your own broadcaster it'll work.</p>
  17. Hey my TV shows do much better rating than the events I run on the same network. Is anyone else noticing this? Is that how it's supposed to be? Because it's a lot less. Like, twice as many people watch my TV shows over my events, which are essentially free PPVs. When I run the events on PPV... they do a killing. I get great numbers.
  18. I just read Adam's interview on 411mania. Uhm... anyone else kinda hoping he gets one of those wrestling themed card games out? I'd support the heck out of that on Kickstarter or something.
  19. So I set up an award show as my first PPV of the year! I love it! I can use angles to present tournament titles as awards. I use a custom company in C-verse and we're still pretty small with only one singles title. No tag title yet. So it's kind of cool that I'll have some titles and history to look back on.
  20. My plan is to replace Rocky with Wolf as my figurehead down the road. Maye January 2017. Andrews is good but Wolf's better. Sammy's in decline for me so he's out. I told ya guys before though, Rocky has been a slaughterer of the maine vent scene for me. Nothing but killer grades.
  21. I never used to play with perfect show theory on, but I tried my new game with "Crowd Control" and I have to be honest, I like it much better. It's a little harder no doubt, but it makes every match mean more. I found when I had crowd control/PST off that it turned out all that REALLY matters gradewise are the top two matches of the card. The rest of the card could totally bomb but as long as you had one good angle and two good matches, the overall card could still do really really well. Now sure this is an easier way to play but it means a vast majority of your roster will spend most of their careers not really contributing. Their awesome matches will mean as much as their bad matches. With Crowd Control on I'm paying attention to every single match and angle to monitor pacing. And each performance matters due to it's place on the card. I certainly don't have the whole thing figured out yet, but the basics aren't too hard. Have a few matches that lift the crowd, then have a big blowoff, then calm the crowd and start all over haha. It's actually quite fun. Thought I'd share my experience with you guys.
  22. We are not worthy! You're a master at what you do, sir. All of you guys who contribute to these kinds of things, you have no idea how much what you do helps me keep this game fresh. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you all.
  23. I combated this with getting rid of Jason Azaria and Warlord Pain and replaced them with Peter Michaels and Ed Monton respectively. Those small changes made a huge difference in my backstage numbers. Then I found a few friends and family members of my current workers, bit the bullet on one or two backstage rules, and hired a few extra people with good backstage behavior and viola: backstage rating is 100% before my first PPV
  24. The Rocky Golden Problem I like TCW as a company I find them challenging but simple to book and I usually start my c-verse save through them. But I have always hated rocky Golden and generally used him to put over other talent I liked better in 2013. When I saw Rocky Golden was TCW's figurehead in 2016 I was like "Damn, Rocky Golden just plain sucks how am i going to pull this off?" Swimmingly apparently lol. He's been phenomenal for me getting me killer grades as long as I put him with someone decent. I used him in squash matches to build him up. I got an 89 in a TV main event with him and Troy tornado and an 87 in a tag match with him and Hawkins versus Jay chord and Arsenal. This is unheard of for me. I always found him to be a total albatross to match ratings and generally he made everyone around him worse in the ring, only really being useful to cut promos to help boost show ratings. This year he's just been slaughtering for me. Was I just remembering him poorly in 2013? I coudl have sworn this guy sucked ass now he's maybe the most important part of my roster. I still think Wolf and Jay Chord are my future main event slayers, but Golden can do some damage in the meantime! I have the default feud with him and Andrews still active, but i don't want to pull the trigger on that quite yet. Why? Because through squash matches I already have Rocky's pop up to 93!! And I haven't quite gotten to Malice yet! He's been a monster, man. I want aaron to have the belt just a month longer. But i can't feasibly see putting Andrews over Golden at this point. At Malice I think I'm going to have Andrews go over troy tornado (who I've generally been building with squash matches outside of his one loss to Golden) and have Rocky go over Taylor with Hawkins interfering. That way, I'll head into the next PPV with those two huge matches in mind. have War to Settle the Score... end both those feuds, then start putting Hawkins and Golden together as I'll be heading into Total Mayhem season I had initially planned to immediately replace Golden as my figurehead with Wolf Hawkins but it looks like that won't be necessary. I want to build some relationships with other companies, bring in good in-ring workers maybe just tune Hawkins up for a year and re-evaluated the situation then. What are you guys doing? Keeping golden? Replacing him? If so with who?
