1. Okami's gotta keep working and advancing. Sonnen was content to stay up top and throw down punches from the guard. Those hurt, but they weren't damaging Silva significantly and he didn't really advance much to better his chances at finishing Silva. Okami doesn't want this to go to a scorecard I assure you. Outside of the Sonnen fight (and Silva was injured) I've never seen anyone be able to hold him down and keep him there. And actually, Sonnen didn't either because he ended up getting triangled. Okami needs to take him down and work towards something with some decent wrestling. That said, I don't see this fight going well for Okami. And he definately won't be able to lay all over Silva. Anderson's superior to him in every way that I can see except for sheer strength.
 2. Is he getting the full replacement? That sucks. I dont wish that on anyone that's a very tough surgery to have. Especially Rey. He stood outside in the cold and signed autographs for about an hour after a show here in Philly. Pretty much all the other "big" names got in their cars but Rey stood out and talked to his fans and took pictures and everything. He really was a great guy, or at least came off that way to me. I was under the impression they were doing reconstuctive surgery on the ACL and/or MCL since the tendon issues were the problem moreso than connective tissue loss. I mean that surgery sucks too but if you couple that on top of getting a full knee replacement... it's not good. I hope he gets better but maybe decides he's done enough in wrestling and doesn't need to jeopardize his future anymore.
 3. I think it'll be revelaed little by little that Steph had something to do with all this. And Johnny Ace is probably in on it. It's all a conspiracy to get Vince back in there and ruin Triple H in the eyes of the board. Not saying anything new or crazy but I dont think it's one person. They'll make it seem like this huge reveal and that it WAS one of them all along, but I think more crap will come out on TV and it'll be a bigger conspiracy with several people involved.
 4. Yea dude Bellator is good stuff. I dont have MTV2 in HD though :-(
 5. Regal for sure. He's one of my all time favorite wrestlers. The dude can do everything. He always did well with whatever they threw at him. I'm probably one of the few who really dug what he did with his screen time in WWECW.
 6.

In all honesty Christian is the same type of wrestler like Beniot, Eddie, or Jericho. He can go up and down the card at will because he is a reliable hand and can become a credible ME when it calls.

Agreed. Christian's been awesome this summer. I hope they give him something nice for wrestlemania. He deserves it.

 7. They had the belt off of him for a nice chunk of last year and he was still riding pretty high.
 8. Fair enough. I wouldn't argue the point. The word out there is WWE writes the promos now way more than they used to. Wrestlers have less freedom to do what they want. Piper recently commented on this as have other wrestlers. I'm sure if you care enough you could google some stuff and read about it. But I wouldn't argue the point that they might have let Punk and Nash go at it without a script. Rumor has it they've been giving Punk freedom since he started this feud with John Cena. I don't ever think Nash's ring work was among the best. But as a mic worker, as a character- one of the most important figures on the late 90s no question. People should be and semmingly have been excited that he's working a top angle right now.
 9.
Kevin Nash is an all time great professional wrestler. In ring, I agree he was never as good as Undertaker or Kane but he was pretty awesome for awhile. And while his mic work wasn't the best I've ever seen this Monday night, the man's history should speak for the man's ability to work himself as a character.

One might remember that when Nash was awesome, he didn't have 100% scripted promos like he did on Monday Night.

His work with Hall and Hogan during the nWo angle is some of the most important stuff in wrestling history. It changed the buisness forever.

 10.
Yea I think bringing Nash in was pretty cool. It gave us a nice "holy crap" moment that few saw comming and keeps the feud fresh without Punk and Cena having to face each other yet again.

And btw, to the Cena haters, he DID drop two incredible matches to CM Punk last two PPVs. he's also been putting him over in promos on screen. And Punk really is the only true danger to his Tshirt sales. Mysterio does really well too. He puts over mysterio alot as well. But I guess he doesn't make guys look good. Just sayin'...

 11. Loving this. Christian and the Miz work as your other two anti-HHH heels. Rey would fight for HHH since he was used as little more than a pawn in the "Corporation"'s scheme. And that leads to a confrontation where HHH would have to confront and old friend to ask for help. Randy Orton? Maybe. But who would be epic? BATISTAAAAAAAA.
 12. I know Cole is supposed to be the heel commentator. And to his credit, he has generated more heat on himself in the past 12 months or so than I think I've ever seen anyone do in that role. But he picks apart what the other guys say too much. Every tiny little verbal mistake soemone else makes gets addressed and joked about. At times, it can be funny, but usually it just kills momentum which is huge in commentary. He steps on people in the middle of their point. Fires horrific jokes out there. I think it creates a very difficult environment to create good, flowing, and complimentary commentary to the match. It gets ncomfortable to listen to at times. As a career commentator, I have no problem with Cole. But at this point, I wish he'd tone the heel character down just a litte bit more.
 13. I don't think they went all that deep, dude. Punk mentioned some of Nash' previous gimmicks but that was kinda it. The rest of the segment was generally Punk and Nash trading low-brow insults. Definately dug the title match. Pretty good back and forth stuff with a pretty nice finish. For a second there my suspension of disbelief kicked in and I thought Rey might hit that 619 and walk out the champ despite my better sensibilities. I also liked that Del Rio got a (relatively) clean win to show us that he belongs in the title picture. Of course, Cena runs out and screams about how Del Rio did nothing but cash in a briefcase on a battered opponent and that he'll one day have to defend that title... even though he had just beaten his supposed buddy and respected main eventer Rey Mysterio in relatively clean fashion. I mean Del Rio beat up Rey AFTER the match but the win didn't involve rule breaking of any kind. So even though it was a bit messy at the end... good show overall. I'm into where this angle with Nash is going. I like Swagger seemingly getting a push again. I liked the title match alot.
 14. I had so much fun tonight. I'ma keep it spoiler free just in case anyone "purchases the replay" but god damn did I enjoy the card. Wasn't perfect but it was fun. HUGE ENDING! awesome.
 15. Face vs Face feuds work to elevate a face worker. Maybe if he dropped a clean series of losses to another big face some day then it might happen. Thing is, there's no one with that status right now. I mean Punk's doing great and he's got a very good selling Tshirt right now. He might be the guy if they work this right. They'll heel turn him if he gets too stale and the sales go down though. I always say they won't heel turn him as long as he sells merch like he does.
 16. Dude I <3 your Micheal Bay analogy. The man wont and shouldnt ever win a "Best Director" Oscar but MAN does he make a hell of an action movie. Not always, but usually :-) It's very fitting. Cena's good. I really can care less what his haters have to say about the situation. He's not the best ring guy in the WWE -not even close- but he's no where near as bad as some people would have you say. The dude is a born main eventer. He delivers and knows how to get a crowd behind him. His popularity is down a bit right now, but even if he goes away after WM28... he'll have been WWE's top guy for what? Five or six years? That is one HELL of a run. Plus, he's a hell of a nice guy. I guess I should point out that I defend him staunchly because I met the man on a freezing cold night after a show here in Philly. He and Rey Mysterio came out after the show while the rest of the big stars snuck off in their limos and car services. Not that I blame them, but Cena and Rey came out, spent over an hour talking with fans, taking pictures, signing autographs. Both were class acts and hung out way later than they should have.
 17. Re-reading Rising Stars. It's an excellent read. Came out about 10 years ago. Lots of things since then have definately used it as an influence I think.
 18. So if Cena was as horrible as some of you are saying at MitB... why was there internet buzz all over the place about how it was a great match? Is it possible that you are the problem? That you can't put aside your Cena hate for one friggin match that the rest of the world enjoyed? Not to mention... some people keep breaking down this Cena match with the utmost care in their criticism. For someone you hate so much you clearly watch all of his matches with keen eyes.
 19. I think he must have meant Cena. You guys know that Punk doesn't get his butt kicked then fight his way back and that's not what happened at MitB. Before MitB Punk was booked pure heel and usually did the whoopin. I can't recall a Punk match that describes this while people on this very thread have been spending the last several days screaming about how all John Cena ever does is get destroyed and then do the 5 moves of doom and come back unscathed (like many big faces throughout wrestling history but John Cena is the one taking the heat for it right now). At MitB the match went back and forth beautifully and was, in my opinion, a highlight in Cena's career over the last two or three years. It's one of his best matches. The same can be said for Punk. I got no problem with Punk's ring work normally but that was one of the biggest matches of his career and he stepped up and ran with it. I don't think this angle could have been nearly as interesting as it has been if that match wasn't as fantastic as it was.
 20. As fond as we remember our Stone Cold beer truck moments... we forget the Godwinns/Southern Justice haha. You have a point though. I definately look back at 1997-2000 ish as the best period of wrestling in my lifetime / awareness period. But the undertaker DEFINATELY curcified stephanie mcmahon. But I still loved the Attitue Era because it's when I was ALL IN on wrestling. I like it today though as much as I ever did. I mean that. Wrestling is pure fun for me.
 21. I've been saying for awhile WWE should rip off the X division. Especially with all the internet shows and the network launching. Im not as into them putting guys together based on size as I am about them putting younger lower to midcard guys in a ring who can WORK but might still be developing their skills as a character. Put them together in long form matches where storylines aren't AS important. Obviously, you cant ditch mic work all together but the idea would be the original idea behind the X-Division: a WRESTLING division. I know it's not what WWE specializes in as they are much more heavy handed with entertainment then they are in-ring action, but a division like that is a great way to get younger guys to really show what they can do while they are still working on their physiques or mic skills or whatever the WWe wants to see to take them to that next level. The guys you mentioned would all fit my imaginary vision of that.
 22. I was under the impression he was going to cash it in AFTER the world title match at wrestlemania. Am I mistaken? BTW, I also think he will lose the briefcase before WM28
