1. Looking for a name for a tag team with Benny Benson and Edd Stone, both doing a gimmick where they're rebels fighting against the cheating and corruption that keeps causing them losses. Also looking for a name for a stable with Bryan Vessey, Cameron Vessey, Casey Valentine and Eddie Peak.
 2.
I'm playing an alt-history TCW where Tommy teamed up wih Sam Keith's MAW so he never left for Britain.

I managed to steal Champagne Lover from SOTBPW, for a cool $125k (plus wage matching. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />). Unfortunately, it turns out Rocky 'Whiner' Golden also had wage-matching, so he's now pulling $125k as well.

I've also snagged Rogue, Paul Huntingdon, Cameron Vessey, Matt Keith, Nicky Champion, and Casey Valentine, and helped SOTBPW steal Valient from SWF. I'm currently trying to hire KC Glenn. I'd be worried about salaries, but we're still making nearly a million a month in profit. USPW fell to cult, and SWF is hanging on by a single point.

The biggest concern right now is Time Decline. So much of my midcard and higher are either declining or getting close. Buffalo, RDJ, Joel Bryant, Bryan Vessey, Eddie Peak, Giant Tana, Human Arsenal, and Brent Hill have all started. Even Rogue (who was worth it just for the pop) is already dropping like a rock. Building up a new roster around Wolf Hawkins, Matt Keith, Aaron Andrews and Jay Chord is becoming a priority. Killer Shark is, somehow, one of our top 3 Hottest Prospects.

In storylines, we just held Total Mayhem XX.

Rocky Golden won a Heavyweight title match against Aaron Andrews by DQ due to Cornell's interference. That was his third failed attempt to take the title, so Cornell says he should lose the chance, but he's fighting to argue that the interference resets that.

Sammy Bach lost to Eddie Peak (who was hired by Cameron Vessey to avenge his brother's loss), and then was saved from a Rogue sneak-attack by Champagne Lover, who turned the save into his debut match against Rogue.

The Incorruptable Nicky Champion beat Rich Money in a cage match thanks to Matt Keith policing the ring. Keith then fought Killer Shark and won. (Champion and Keith are currently feuding with Rich Money and Marc Speed. Shark is serving as Money's goon.)

The Canadian Animals lost to Devine Fortune, which then led to the Animals having a breakup match, with Edd Stone turning face, frustrated that Freddy Huggins' obsession with Chance Fortune is making him weak.

RDJ beat American Buffalo thanks to Floyd Goldworthy tripping his own client, in revenge for Buffalo attacking him during the previous show.

And Troy Tornado, Benny Benson and Joey Minnesota fighting over Tornado's cheating ways. I'm honestly not sure how to end this one, since I'd like to start booking a Minnesota/Taylor vs Hawkins/Huntingdon feud.

 4.
Sorry, not game related, but it IS a question and not sure where else it belongs.

Is anyone else suddenly getting constantly redirected to a site called promotefine.com any time they try to open a thread? It's been happening on both my iPad and iPhone, and only on this site.

 5. I was going to say that no one would believe something that ridiculous. But on second thought, you ARE playing as the WWE.
 6. To follow up on Gungner's points, if you want the events to be like titled PPV's, annual is the best way to go, and then make 12 events. If you just want reoccuring shows, then monthly is probably better. Once you start making some more money, then adding a second show each month is a good way to build extra pop.

He can come out with a 2x4 slung over his shoulder and smash people in the face with it. Etc.

Or, maybe The Baccalaureate?

 9.
Thanks everyone. It sounds like part of the problem was me focusing too literally on the word popularity and assuming that even a completely terrible person would help as long as he was famous.

It sounds like a better way to think of it is more as a "personality-driven" show rather than simply an echo chamber of popularity.

On the flip side, your explanations have also helped me understand why WWE used to rely more on gimmick matches, when they had wrestlers with less technical skill. It's been really neat as a neophyte to keep seeing new ways that this game lines up with why the real life companies make the decisions they do. Some day, I swear I'm going to get around to writing something in-depth about that.

Actually, one more question along those lines. Is there a way in the game to simulate the Roman Reigns thing, where audiences dislike a push that a wrestler gets and actively turns on him? I feel like it hasn't happened to me, but maybe there's a setting I missed.

 10. Can I get some general advice on running a pop > perf company? So far I have mainly run MAW and TCW, but I'm thinking of trying a USPW or SWF game again. But I've never figured out how to build characters right. Obviously, using higher pop wrestlers will give better segment ratings, and using angles is a good way to build popularity for people who can't wrestle well. I'm mostly trying to figure out things like how to build pop for characters with bad stats. If I have them go over higher pop wrestlers, that seems like a zero sum game. If they're bad at Entertainment stats, it makes angles tough. Likewise, when booking matches, I can't really get the hang of how to handle a bunch of guys who might be better serving as the turnbuckle. I've really tried a few times, but I wind up in a pretty bad popularity tailspin after a few months. So any tips would be really appreciated.
 11. Yes, I can. I apologize, I thought that got double checked before it went live. I have corrected it now.

 14.
I really liked the Cena vs Styles match. The Cena in that match felt refreshing and cool. It was fun.

I was glad that Lesnar got dumped so quickly, but I wish Goldberg had already been in the ring and threw him out instantly. Lesnar looks like a naked mole rat on 2 legs, and I don't want him on my TV screen. I don't find myself hating himfor being a heel. I find myself hating him because he looks gross. I was actually surprised to find myself cheering for Goldberg, who I always found kinda "meh".

Also, having missed the part of Reigns's build that everyone apparently objects to, watching the crowd chant "Bullshit" the entire time he was in the ring made me instantly love the guy more than I already did. In my mind, (esp. after trying to get into NXT) WWE crowds are the ultimate heels, so anything they hate is obviously awesome. I was really hoping he'd take it.

I counted 7 storylines in that match, which seems pretty good to me.

 15.

Planning on making a new stable akin to the NWO. (Without the many additions that came after)

Braun Strowman, Cody Hall (developmental guy who has improved significantly during the last few months) Kevin Owens are all going to be a part of it; Kevin Nash will also take part as their mentor. (He's currently managing Strowman)

Just a few things I need to go over with you guys. What should I name the stable (NWO is too obvious for me) and more importantly, how should I debut the stable?

I feel like I reply to this thread too frequently, but I'm doing it again anyway.

If you have Kevin Nash, and a guy with the last name of Hall, the stable name is obvious - they're The Outsiders.

As far as Owens and Rhodes goes, being indie guys who came into the WWE gives them motivation and a way to debut - they're pissed that they had to make their names before WWE would even look at them. Sort of like the CM Punk storyline, but rather than trying to "change" WWE, they just want to dismantle it, so that indie feds have a better chance to grow.

So, it could debut by beating up some of the WWE 'loyalists' - John Cena, Undertaker, and other guys who have basically come up though WWE feeder leagues.

 16.
Planning a TCW brand split, as I have about 65 wrestlers on the roster. I've gone through and figured out who's going to be on each brand, but I'm not sure which focus I should give them.

One brand is going to be centered around flashy fliers - like Edd Stone, Sammy Bach and Jefferson Stardust - while also having several big bruisers - Remo being the central heel, as well as Titan and Killer Shark.

The other is going to be more built around brawlers and mat guys - Aaron Andrews, Eddie Peak, Mighty Mo - and some aging superstars like Lobster Warrior and Skull DeBones.

Both are going to have melodramatic "sports entertainment" storylines, with mostly realistic characters.

I was originally thinking "Daredevil" and "Cult", but that doesn't quite feel right.

Who to and when to push?

Now my question: In my current game, my promotion is on verge on becoming national.(7 months in game time-custom promotion) My product is Pop=performance a lot similar to WLW.

My problem is- I have 2 guys who are 80+(fairly young) with 6 others at 60-67 pop. Thing is, all the UM's and most of ME's are on Decline(most of them are like 4-5 years already.)

Most of the midcarders are sitting on 20-30 pop with highest being 40. UM's are useless in the ring as they have already detoriated in their stats.one of them is owner and his best friend so they won't job. None of my ME's wants job I already have 2 on CC so they won't too.Mid card matches never score more than 50-60 with steal the show note being exception.

I am spamming combinations between 4 of my top guys in main events and storylines to sustain grades.

So how I can push my new guys to the top? UM are on the verge of retirement with most in 40-45 range. In few months, I will need to change my whole top of the card but if most of them wont job, how will I able to transfer the POP? My product is Pop=performance a lot similar to WLW.

First of all, I would freeze yourself at cult for now. If you jump up to National before you have the numbers in place to stay there, you're just going to crash back down again. And it sounds like you're just barely pulling in the numbers you need.

I might try seeing if you can do a bit of 'failing up the card'. Take some LM's, book them to lose against the UM's and ME's, but always using the 'keep strong' note. Maybe even add some DQ or other cheap losses. Then, give the ones who are good at talking a bunch of promos saying that next match, they'll do it.

Meanwhile, pick 2 Midcarders and let them run roughshod over the rest of the midcard. Once they've built a few wins, and their pop is a bit higher, feel free to also throw them some wins off the LM's. These are the two you're going to build up. If one of them is a menacing heel, they can also have promos where they run in and destroy 2 ME wrestlers right after a match. After they have a solid streak, you can probably get those two to go over your stubborn high-card guys.

 18. Another question - if a wrestler is currently in the process of foreshadowing a turn, does the game count them as being a 'tweener', or would they still suffer from being booked against people of the same alignment?
 19.

Hmm, I was thinking of Kurt Angle just to give him at least one more accolade to his accomplishments, but I think your idea better.

On a side note, Cesaro and Angle's feud is actually face vs face. They are fighting to see who really is the best wrestler in WWE.

I think the one way it might make sense to crown Angle is if he won off some cheap thing which wasn't actually his fault. Then you theoretically book a feud between Angle and Zayn, with Zayn claiming to be rightful King of the Ring. Unfortunately, the only way I really see that feud going is basically a Michaels v Taker at WM 26, where Zayn challenges Angle to enter next years KotR, and Angle says he'll retire if he doesn't win the crown again.

Then again, if you set something up where Zayn challenges Angle for KotR 2018, and gets knocked out at semi-finalist by the person who then beats Angle to retire him, you can use Angle to build heat for 2 wrestlers, and 2 feuds.

 20.
I have a couple more questions. The first is another 'theory' question I guess. And the other is more about the 'Storylines' menu.

First - I'm pretty good at booking stable vs stable, and team vs team, or whatever. But I'm really bad at just booking straight 1 on 1, face vs heel feuds. I feel like it either falls into "Heel beats face a few times, possibly using cheap tactics. Face powers up and proves it by beating some other people. Face beats Heel" or "Heel interferes in a bunch of matches. Face reciprocates (depending on how nice the face is.) Face beats heel in an actual match." I feel like either of those leaves the face as the feud's 'loser' in TEW terms (it's appropriate dramatically, but he's lost way more matches).

What are some other ways to book 1 v 1 storylines to balance out a bit (alternatively, should I make a new thread to not clutter this one with stuff like this?)

Second, after watching Wrestle Kingdom, I was inspired to try my hand at a longer frame storyline. So, I'm planning a 2-3 year storyline which leads to new acquisition Jimmy 'Mainstream' Hernandez eventually challenging Rocky Golden for position as figurehead and winning, turning Rocky heel in the process. However, due to storyline decay, obviously I can't have a major storyline between them yet.

How would you handle it? Book a storyline where Jimmy is the only main character, and have Rocky as support, and then cycle in people as he challenges them? Or would you book his few interactions with Rocky more as simple foreshadowing, and not include Rocky in a storyline until Hernandez is ready to feud with him?

 21.
Is psychology improved by having people on the same team, or is it only good for opponents? Does it have the same liklihood of improving in multi-man matches as in 1 v 1?

Additionally, which other skills can be improved by pairing people with higher-skilled opponents? Is it mainly left half of the middle line, and then some entertainment?

Power and stamina seem mostly tied to size (stamina improves with long matches?)

2/3 of my roster is under 30, so I'm basically trying to do some "selective breeding", in hopes that by the time they all hit 30, I'll have a solid roster who'll be in place for about a decade.

 22.

Posted this already in the Booking Committee thread but I guess it really belongs here.

Looking for suggestions for changes to the Bumfhole surname for something more "serious/main event". I could've sworn I saw some good alternatives used in Dynasties here over the years but I can't for the life of me remember any. Ideally I'd want something reminiscent of the Bumfhole name

What about "The Arsenaults"? You get to keep a butt-related name, it sounds a lot classier, and you could imply they're related to Human Arsenal if you wanted to.

 23.
This is more of a "booking theory" question, I guess, but as a wrestling neophyte, I'm curious about when it would be natural in a feud to use some of the more 'exotic' match types? (In my case, primarily in TCW/SWF).

Like, I know ladder matches tend to be done when 2 or more 'equals' are fighting for some prize. And Cage matches are theorectically to prevent 'interference'.

But, outside of lucha, when would you use a 2 out of 3 falls match? Or a Cell match as opposed to a Cage match? And things like First Blood vs I Quit vs Last Man Standing?

I feel like I tend to rely too much on basic matches, when I probably should be ramping up some of my storylines, so I'm hoping that having a better understanding may help open my toolbox a bit.

 24.

I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for a name of an unmasked Enygma in USPW 2010 mod? He has recently turned heel but (to me) is completely stale.

How about something like Absalom or Brimstone?

 25.
So, I don't know much about Japanese wrestling (actually, I only know a little about any wrestling. TEW 2013 is what got me to start watching it).

But I watched that Okada vs Omega match, after hearing it was amazing. And holy crap, it was amazing. Between this, and loving SMASH's joshi matches, I think I'll be signing up for NJPW.

If someone's willing to indulge me, I have a couple questions about that match. Are Japanese wrestling 'rules' different from in WWE? The red shoes ref seemed to take a very different role from the striped shirts. Also, count outs seem to go to 20?

And are people generally allowed at ringside, because it's assumed they won't interfere as much?

Lastly, does Japan use heels and faces in the same way as the WWE? Or is it a bit more malleable? Because several of Okada's tactics seemed very heely. And I wasn't sure whether he was foreshadowing a turn, whether he was showing that this was a grudge match, or whether this was just more acceptable in Japan.

Thanks for any enlightenment.
