  1. This is great thank you for all your hard work Togg!!
  2. I definitely think adding more modern workers would be the lowest hanging fruit here…
  3. I wonder what a wish list is for updating this... I'm very in between pursuing a 2001, post-Vince release from prison update (seems daunting) and an update to the current version. (1) Mexican territory seems to be a call-out throughout the thread. (2) More modern day workers for longer plays? I wish I could schedule scandals in the future, or negative effects on workers. I think this is a huge portion of future state modding that would make significant improvements to long-term plays. I've completely revamped the broadcasters to lessen their ridiculous viewership long-term. Decreased popularity across the board as well, to lessen viewership and overall popularity scaling too high too quickly. I'm also considering revamping the gimmicks in the database and their assignments to workers. The difficult thing as well is I am so far gone from having worked on this that it is hard to grasp where I left things exactly.
  4. 2016 is definitely when things started to change. Glad to see this is finally getting the attention it deserves!!!
  5. I find massive adjustments to broadcaster coverage really helps this. Unfortunately this requires scaling to everey broadcaster in your database to align everything but from what I've found: Huge terrestrial cable networks: never higher coverage than Very Big (never use Huge or Enormous) Large commercial cable networks like TNT? never higher coverage than Big Medium coverage for smaller cable networks like Versus, CMT, etc. Then scale down from there Obviously depends on the time frame IRL if you are using a RW mod and the state of that broadcaster at the time I've also combined this with: - Scaling down worker popularity - Scaling down company popularity - Scaling down industry and economy in world regions And even this doesn't produce perfect numbers. I've even considered scaling major networks like CBS, FOX, ABC, NBC down to just Big coverage and scaling from there...
  6. Only reason I thought WSW might fire immediately is because in this scenario the drug testing is taken much more seriously because of the Vince trial. Essentially the trial helps "clean up" the industry throughout the mid to late 90's (note how every promotion has drug testing policy - essentially a gov't regulation because of this trial) but eventually wrestling slips into it's drug-filled checkered past heading into the late 90's and 2000's. I would definitely be interested in the gif pack. I've considered converting myself but just don't have the time right now.
  7. Also, thank you for all the kind words. I thought this mod didn't really receive much attention, happy to hear people have enjoyed it, but also sad to hear you all feel it is incomplete without Mexico and Europe. I have been slowly working on a 1.3 version of this mod. It does not include addition of new areas in the game, but does include: - Lower abilities of those that are not absolute stars - Decreased popularity of all workers across the board by 10 points - Revamp of broadcasters, more accurate reach and popularity for the era, as well as overall decrease. - Decrease in company starting money (although may be irrelevant) I've also been spending some time considering a new release in the future when Vince McMahon is released from prison, or maybe a year after. Mainly been working on a timeline, much of which I WISH I could add as future narratives in this mod so the world evolves as canon dictates. However, it does not seem possible to schedule scandals for workers, which is a shame. There are plenty of avenues to take the story but in regards to Vince I am stuck between having him take over the WWF (leading to Shane and Heyman forming ECW) or start a new company after he cannot regain control. But definitely entering the 2000's it becomes Shane versus his father. But just to give some perspective, here is my current future timeline:
  8. Yeah we'll see if I touch this at some point... I'm a new father now so many other priorities taking place, plus I've had interest in continuing my Wrestling at War mod as well...
  9. This is awesome, love the presentation and style so far, hope to see good stuff here!!
  10. Super playable. I've simmed ten years into the future and there is nothing really odd or game breaking about it. The only game breaking aspect of it, I feel, is the inability to stop big promotions from just piling hundreds of millions of dollars, but that's not a problem segmented just with this mod.
  11. What’s the projected end date for the draft at this point?
  12. I would love to do a modern day version of iDOM as well
  13. Wow these are amazing!!! I’m on vacation so can’t make much progress on this for the time being. In the mean time, loving the logos!!
  14. Man look at those, way better than what I could do! LOVE the Ric Flair template! I will check out the square template as well and see what I can put together, thanks Idol!
  15. Let's talk pictures. I'm exploring using GIF sticker pics for this project. I think it would really add an awesome layer of flare to the entire mod. I am also interested in this because I have never even really used the GIF stickers but I've thought of them to be an awesome way to view talent in the game, especially for a project like this where workers will frequently be shared between NWA promotions. While exploring different ways to create a "card" for each promotion is one half of the fun, the other half is playing with the logos. I love logos in general, from their symbolism and design, to structure and meaning. Unfortunately, I've never considered myself to be good at them by any means, and have to use Photoshop to create them as opposed to the probably preferred Illustrator (which I don't use). With that said, I of course want to use the original graphics as inspiration for this remake, so here is the original WCCW logos: The first one is of course the original WCCW logo from the late 1970's/early 1980's, which I love. Plenty of history in that logo I don't need to get into at this point, but I definitely want to keep it around. But at the same time, I love the modern, stencil font, flaming text logo. This version can also be found on the iDOM Wiki page for WCCW: I am considering using this original from the iDOM Wiki to create one card as an option, but I also want to do what I can to make a new version of this logo specifically for this mod, and I'm playing around with stencil fonts and creating the flaming text effect. My current iteration is as follows and is open to criticism: Not sure how I feel about it now looking at it before posting... doesn't really capture the same flame effect as I had hoped for...
  16. Why is the one thing I'm obsessed with these indy event logos with the 2000s video cam display. Such a slick idea!
  17. Update #2 Titan Wrestling Entertainment up next. Just about finished with their initial set-up, future balancing to come. Company Tour Roster Preview Product Preview Title Preview
  18. Oh there will probably be harder challenges ahead... I’m sure a popular one will be taking Windy City Wrestling with CM Punk and friends to national status will be a popular one!
  19. I was thinking this would be a good idea at first, but, after reading more into what WCCW is supposed to be like, this line turned me away from proceeding with this idea, " Every week on Ignition, people are busted open, struck with weapons and simply beaten to a bloody pulp in a way that the TWE's sports entertainment can't come close to emulate". With that said, instead, I think I'm likely going to be adding more brawlers (especially hardcore workers), and maybe some younger, but not all that talented workers, to help fill out the bottom of the card and provide some fooder for the upper card. I still want to keep the challenge of starting a game with WCCW and realizing your roster is aging fast. On the six-man tag belts... yes I understand their history, but I'll likely just have it in the game as inactive for the user to activate. If not, I was interested in seeing if I could put together a "New Freebirds" stable but I don't see many options for it in terms of original WCCW talent to put this together, so I will probably just leave it up to user's discretion if they want to make it active and rebuild some sort of Freebird/Von Erich feud... WCCW Light Heavyweight? Not too familiar with it, and I don't think it would have lasted. Yes, I agree. I have renamed it to the Brass Knuckles title in game, since it's a pretty historic belt with an incredible lineage. I am also adding back the Texas Heavyweight title, since I just don't how they would get rid of it. Perfect singles title that isn't on the main event level to be competed over, and outside of the Hardcore and Heavyweight belts, there was nothing for others to compete for. Much to your request for the six-man tag titles, I may figure out a way to have them active, but for now will likely just have it as inactive. Last change I believe is changing the title of the WCCW Heavyweight title to the WCCW American Heavyweight title. If the NWA remained solvent, I think the American portion of this would not have been dropped, especially since the NWA World title is still the big daddy of them all... With that said, here is an updated list of WCCW titles (remember, trios title is inactive at game start for now...) Yes, incredibly aging. I think this really touches on a major opportunity for improvement with this mod thanks to how much time has gone by since this was first put together. Back when this was first released, there was no WWE Network. There was barely even a YouTube. Creating realistic rosters for this mod was no small task at the time. But now, you and I have the amazing benefit of hindsight, given we are 10+ years from this game start mark of 2008. I think that's why a lot more guys are stretched out to work longer into their careers (outside of the basic fantasy of just having Steve Austin work in the late 2000s, etc.) Thankfully, there is an amazing track record for guys from the mid-2000s into the early-2020s (crap, I'm getting old) that can help round out these rosters and really add an extra layer of depth that wasn't available at the time. It's actually really interesting to see what sort of perception some workers had at this time in terms of how charismatic and talented they were, versus how they would turn out years later in real life. I want to keep the rosters as original as possible from the EWR conversion, but also want to add in workers where TEW will require balancing and also provide the depth for a company like WCCW to really be at the top spot in the industry. Hard to imagine they are as big as they are with an active roster of only 36 workers. Hopefully this will give you a glimpse into what the wrestling world was like around 2008, and how many name were relevant then and are not relevant whatsoever anymore (Robbie and Rory McAllister anybody? Those guys just went ghost after they left the WWE). Back in EWR days this was an incredibly popular mod, lots of people did diaries around it. I hope it's not too old at this point it doesn't draw much interest, it's hard to tell how far back the younger audience on here is familiar with wrestlers in different eras... And, with all that said... I am about 95% complete with WCCW, including modifying all popularities and worker skills. My philosophy is to start by replicating the old EWR stats as much as possible, plus/minus a little based on how I feel a worker really is versus what I feel is trying to "stretch" a worker to make them fit into the universe, or what was a miscalculation of how talented a worker really turned out to be. I am going to leave all contracts to expire at Random time to give the game some randomness on every start. I am still worried I need to go back in and scale down the popularity of these workers, because they don't align with how popular WCCW is in the game and because it makes them really expensive and I'm not sure long-term in the game WCCW can afford them, but we will just have to wait and see how it sims. I am also about 65% done with full work to be done on the TWE roster... will share preview soon.
  20. <p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:24px;"><strong>Update #1</strong></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Almost done with most of WCCW, the largest promotion in the game. The biggest challenge I think I will have is how to scale the popularity in the game. In the original data I'm using, Brock is a 98 overall, yet the promotion isn't global by any means. In fact, it's barely national. Been thinking about scaling all the big promotions down to Medium size, instead of Big, but I'm not sure about it yet. Anyways, here's a brief preview:</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Company Tour</strong></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><img alt="pIysVIc.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pIysVIc.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Roster Preview</strong></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><img alt="YdrX0P9.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YdrX0P9.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Product Preview</strong></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><img alt="VRErTwv.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VRErTwv.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Title Preview</strong></span></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><img alt="pCpCNBH.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pCpCNBH.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><ul><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">Yes, the popularity for lower card workers need to be scaled, but I just initally plugged in the raw popularities of all the top workers, and wanted to share what the roster will look like in terms of most of the talent. World Class was big into battle royales IRL, and Andre came through enough back in the 80's and theoretically even more after WrestleMania ended, that he would have left an impact on the World Class organization in canon.</div></div></div></div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">I'm debating taking additional liberties with the roster, especially depending on how everything sims once more is put together. I'm interested in adding a lucha division given Texas' proximity to Mexico.</div></div></div></div><br /></li></ul>
  21. Friendly reminder for all to make sure you have submitted "I'm Out" for each worker when you are out so Togg knows quicker when bidding is really done for a worker.
