Yuko Okui: Ashes indeed, as we're still in the aftermath of not just what transpired at the 2016 Joshi Royalty Summit but also the shocking win of Hunter-Killers at Neon Genesis Evolution 10 that made them double champions, as they now hold both the WINNOW Duet titles and the WWA World Tag Team championships! Hiranuma Makoto: Hunter-Killers have announced they will be gracing us with their presence tonight, even though they are not scheduled to wrestle, but that is not all. We have some new faces making their debuts tonight, as well as the big main event where the 2016 Joshi Royalty Summit tournament winner Joanne Rodriguez defends her WINNOW Rising Champion title against the young prodigy, Romi Yamato! Yuko Okui: What a match that is going to be, but so will all the others in tonight's card leading up to it and starting with our first contest and the in-ring debut of a promising young lioness! Rika Tsujimura vs Asami Okubo Asami Okubo seemed to win fans over with her enthusiasm, heart and intensity, though she couldn't win the match against her more experienced opponent. Tsujimura was clearly the better wrestler of the two and even though she had to work for it, she eventually (and predictably) got the win. Winner: Rika Tsujimura Finish: Running Knee Bomb Team Endorphine vs Karen Bilous & Claire Winters Bilous and Winters may not be teaming up regularly like Team Endorphine do, but that didn't made them any less dangerous as they brought their stiff striking style and technical wrestling into this fight. Jaguar Endo did the brunt of the work for her team, but her natural connection to her rookie partner helped Emiko Miyoshi stay in the fight and even score a surprise win for her team, her first pinfall ever in WINNOW. Winners: Team Endorphine Finish: Roll Up Ochiyo Iijima vs Laura Flame Another WINNOW in-ring debut, this time for an established wrestler in Ochiyo Iijima, who showcased her martial arts based style against the equally impressive (and legitimately trained) Laura Flame. Not as good in the ring as it sounded on paper, this match was held back somehow by the two ladies being a bit out of synch and thus disrupting the flow of the match, but it was still an impressive showing and an entertaining bout, ending with a strong win for Iijima to kickstart her trajectory in WINNOW. Winner: Ochiyo Iijima Finish: Paralysis Thumb Strike Rei Chikanatsu, Sakura Sada & Nami Genda vs Mystery Pink, Faith McGee & Thea Davis A Mexican-style trios match through and through, this one was a proper spotfest packed with fast action, flashy aerial moves and big moments to pop the crowd right after the mid-show break. The gaijin team seemed to be struggling a bit against the joshi trio, until Sada landed wrong during a leg drop attempt; the event turned things around and McGee quickly capitalized to score the pin over Genda. Winners: Mystery Pink, Faith McGee & Thea Davis Finish: Flying Cross Body Chitose Ariwara & Ginko Kuroda vs The Missouri Bruisers Pretty much a redemption match for all four ladies involved, following their big losses at the 2016 Joshi Royalty Summit, this one was of added importance for reigning WINNOW Grand Champion Chitose Ariwara as she was looking to gain some momentum after ther tournament final loss to J-Ro and in light of their upcoming title match. This may have been part of the reason why she seemed a bit too eager at the expense of working together with Kuroda and it was a weakness their opponents were able to spot and exploit as Gorgon rolled through a Dragon Suplex into a cover that kept Kuroda down for the count while Ariwara was busy brawling outside the ring with Morris. Winners: The Missouri Bruisers Finish: Roll Up As promised, Hunter-Killers were present for the show and made a grand entrance, sporting both the WINNOW Duet titles and the WWA World Tag Team titles. Their celebration was cut short though when two masked figures rushed to the ring from behind with steel chairs in hand to beat them down, before pulling their hoods to reveal themselves as... Yu Hashimoto and Maki Yoshifumi! The duo (collectively known as Torment & Sorrow in 5SSW) made a strong impression upon their first appearance for WINNOW and it was more than clear that they have Hunter-Killers on their sights... WINNOW Rising Champion title match Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez © vs Romi Yamato Another textbook slow burner main event, slowly but steadily building to a climax as it told the tale of two warriors pushing each other to the limit. Yamato kicked out of a J-Rocker for a shock return and sensing imminent defeat, resorted to exposing one of the ring corners from its protective padding, presumably to whip her opponent there and follow up with the Yamatotal. J-Ro not only persisted, but almost managed to hit another J-Rocker to drive her challenger face first into the exposed steel rings, but Yamato barely escaped by throwing the champion off balance and onto the referee. The official's eyes were off for barely a couple of seconds, but that was all Yamato needed to grab a groggy Rodriguez by the hair and driver her head into the exposed turnbuckle, before dropping into a desperate cover for the finish. Winner AND NEW WINNOW Rising Champion: Romi Yamato Finish: Pinfall after a face smash to an exposed turnbuckle Show Rating: </div>
  2. If the diary's title wasn't obvious enough, Rose Tattoo and that song specifically are the main inspiration for this. I've been wanting to do it for a long time, but kept delaying it until I was 100% sure, as I do have a tendency of stretching myself over too many diaries and letting some of them fizzle out eventually. As for the rest of the Aussie bands.... I mean, it just makes sense, doesn't it? Hello there, nice to have you around and thank you for your words of encouragement! The ex-ZEN guys are a major part of this thing and I'm really hoping Blaze's PED habit and poor backstage attitude don't ruin what seems to be some great things coming his way with this character.
  3. <div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #B0E0E6; max-width:60%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";"> DIW Violent Delight Date: Friday, Week 2 of February 2016 Location: Fuster hall, Eastern Australia Attendance: 507 The Comedian vs “The Human Weapon” Rob Edwards Rob Edwards does a full-on MMA entrance, complete with a ring robe and two men leading him to the ring. Is magnificence however interrupted by the Comedian, who rushes out with a shovel and takes out all three men as he swings wildly from behind, before dropping the shovel to brawl with Edwards all the way down to ringside. Caught by surprise, Edwards can do little besides take all kinds of crazy weapon shots from the Comedian, who uses anything he can get his hands on against the young fighter while yelling profanities about this being “f**king wrestling” and trash talking those “cage fight monkeys” in between. Fans eat it all up and the show is off to a rowdy start, unlike the match that is never off to an official start. It is only after The Comedian has dished out enough punishment to bloody Rob Edwards all over that he rolls him into the ring just to deliver his Running Powerslam finisher and mockingly cover him for the pin. Winner: The Comedian After the match is over, The Comedian kicks Edwards out of the ring and demands a microphone. Comedian: “TOMBSTONE!” The Comedian points to a bloodied Rob Edwards who is being helped to his feet by the ringside crew. Comedian: “THIS IS WHAT’S COMIN’ TO YA!” Fans cheer at the notion of a match between Tombstone and The Comedian. DIW’s founder lets them savour the excitement as he lights up a post-fight cigarette. Comedian: “Because the W in DIW….” The Comedian takes a long drag from his cigarette for a dramatic pause… Comedian: “STANDS FOR WRESTLING!” Hawkins: Quite the statement from DIW’s Icon, both in his match and his words, what do you think Jim? BJT: I’m thinking he’s out to prove a point, Dean. He just declared war on all these young MMA imports! Highlights from DIW Devil’s Playground are shown on the screen above the wrestlers’ entrance, specifically the match between the Ares Death Cult and the Bad Truckers over the DIW Tag Team titles. The video ends with Big Rig and Diesel Dan holding the titles up in the air while a graphic appears to inform newer fans that this victory marks the beginning of their fourth reign as DIW Tag Team champions. "The Hungarian Bulldozer" Gyula Lakatos vs King Malietoa Lacking both Cesar Sionis on his side and the DIW Tag Team title on his shoulder, Lakatos hits the ring looking fired up and ready to inflict some pain. King Malietoa takes his time to get between the ropes, all the while giving his scheduled opponent a menacing grin. The bell rings and it’s a tug of war between the two heavyweights as they trade stiff chops and forearm blows with neither giving way until Lakatos foolishly tries to surprise Malietoa with a headbutt. Hawkins: Unorthodox offense from The Hungarian Bulldozer there, but I think it backfired! BJT: Never hit a Samoan in the head, Dean… As if awakened from slumber and barely feeling the effects of Lakatos’ blow, Malietoa explodes in a huge headbutt of his own that finally drops his opponent! Hawkins: Malietoa going for the Throne Splash, he wants to wrap this up fast! Missed it! Lakatos rolled away and he’s out of the ring! Malietoa is still reeling from that missed Throne Splash! And here comes Lakatos with… a screwdriver?!? He’s carving up Malietoa’s forehead! The Samoan is bloodied all over his face! And Lakatos is enjoying it! Choke Bomb time… Can’t lift him up! Headbutt from the bloodied Malietoa! Lakatos is down! Throne Splash! That’s it! Cover! One… Two… THREE! Winner: King Malietoa Hawkins: What resilience from Malietoa! While wearing the crimson mask, nonetheless! BJT: He’s won tonight, but I’m curious to see how the toll of this match affects his future tournament performance, Dean. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6b5czixF1dg" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> With King Malietoa gone, the Guru grabs a mic and enters the ring to face the defeated Lakatos. Guru: “My child… I can tell you are lost. You lost your championship, you lost your teammate and now you lost this match…. However, I can tell you have potential… Join me, The Guru of Gore…” The (self-proclaimed) Guru of Gore offers a handshake to Lakatos… Hawkins: Looks like Lakatos already found some new allies, Jim! BJT: He was in Ares Death Cult, Dean. I think he’ll fit just fine in this new cult this… Guru of Gore seems to be building. After a moment of hesitation... Lakatos takes the handshake! The two men pose for a moment before they retreat backstage together w The Barracudas vs Pinn Enterprises Ltd (with Lori) A real mess of a match to call, this was another chapter in the ongoing rivalry between the two groups as well as the in-ring debut of the newest Barracudas member, who was officially revealed as “The Serial Killer” Gareth Case. Highlights of this chaotic brawl include Chopper Rourke getting slammed with a Boss-A-Nova onto a bunch of thumbtacks, Gareth Case surviving for almost a full minute in Dobberly’s Full Nelson while being choked with barb wire and Vaughan chokeslamming Wez Dobberly off the apron onto a discarded part of the ringside barricade. By the end, it is clear that for all his toughness, Case is still learning to work together with the rest of his group, unlike their opponents; Pinn gave the orders, Dobberly was the muscle and the sneaky McMiller took every cheap shot he could. In the end, the corporation’s tricks got the best of Case and he was surprised with a roll up from Dobberly who won the match for Pinn Enterprises Ltd. Winners: Pinn Enterprises Ltd. Another pre-recorded video airs next MC: “Hello DIW fans, I am Miss Cerizabeth and I am so happy my many talents are finally getting some recognition in this dump. You see, I’ve been doing such a great job managing my client, Blaze Maximum, I was also given the power to interview people on the roster and what better way to celebrate my promotion than interviewing the DIW Champion himself, Tombstone!” Tombstone: “Comedian! Is this some kind of joke? Because I’m not laughing! I don’t recall asking for your help against Pinn, or your validation of my fighting style… but most of all, I don’t recall asking for a match with you. I’m grateful for it, though… because I’m gonna have an opportunity to kick your ass all the way into retirement!” MC: “That’s all good, but the fans are dying to know one other thing: if you lose your title in this match, will you try to reclaim it or will you challenge the inevitable DIW Hardcore champion and my client, Blaze Maximum? No, wait, I have a better idea: if you retain, would you put it on the line in a champion versus champion match against him?” Tombstone: “You’re outta your g***amn mind, lady…” DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match w Blitz Simpson vs Vance Sturt (with Lori) Sturt makes his entrance with Lori wrapped around his arm but is attacked by a charging Blitz Simpson and the match is already off to a hot start as the announcing team try to recap it all: this is a personal rivalry as much as it is a group rivalry, on top of this being a tournament match and both men being the only representatives left in it for their respective groups! Unlike the Barracudas' usual M.O., Simpson presses his early advantage and lays into his opponent with all sorts of strikes in a proper prison yard beatdown, not wasting any time to bother with bringing weapons into the fight. Instead, it's Lori who cleverly slides in a chair when Simpson hits a Russian Legsweep! Hawkins: Simpson landed right onto that chair! BJT: That right there just changed the momentum of the match, Dean. Sturt was the one supposed to take the worst of that move, but Lori shook it up in favor of her man. Unlike Simpson, Vance Sturt isn't shy at all about using weapons and slams that chair a few more times onto Simpson's damaged back, before moving away to line up his High Knee finisher. Hawkins: Incoming... Reversal! Simpson whips Sturt into the corner! Hawkins: He threw him to the corner before he could connect! And Sturt landed knee first onto the buckles! Simpson recovers the steel chair and looks to trap Sturt's knee in it... Stomps it! Sturt is screaming in pain! He might be injured! Simpson's putting his legs on the second rope! Will it be the Lifting DDT to end this? He's dragging the chair too where he intends to drop Sturt's head! Lori grabbed a drink from a fan's hand in the front row! She spits in Simpson's face! He's blinded! Sturt is limping away! He throws that chair at Simpson! And Blitz is holding it, but he still can't see a thing! High Knee! Hawkins: Sturt hit it with his bad leg, but it was amplified by that chair being there! BJT: Cover! Simpson may be out after that blow! One… Two… THREE! Winner: Vance Sturt Show Rating: </div>

  5. Saturday W3 January 2018 Yamanashi Athletic Stadium, Chubu Attendance: 4.862 Pavel Vanzycha, MUSCLE Serizawa & Eikichi Itou vs Hammer Hadley & Diazawa Standard multi-man undercard match to start the show and warm up the fans, with Vanzycha keeping things together as the only veteran among all the young lions. Since he's the one who usually takes the pins in Muscle Blasters matches, Serizawa regained some much needed credibility here when he scored the pin over the greenest man in this match, Masao Takizawa. In a decent match, Pavel Vanzycha, MUSCLE Serizawa and Eikichi Itou defeated Hammer Hadley and Diazawa in 10:29 when MUSCLE Serizawa defeated Masao Takizawa by pinfall with a MUSCLE Lariat. Funakoshi & Jotaro Tanaka vs Kyuichi Matsumoto & Shuzo Utagawa Similar setup for the following undercard match that cut things down to tag team action as the ace of BCG and his apparent young lion protege showed some great teamwork against the mix of intensity and technique their opponents brought to this match. By this point, it seems impossible for Funakoshi to have even a mediocre match but he took things futher by carrying his less experienced co-workers through a hidden gem of a match that put in an early candidacy for the night's show stealer, even if his team was the one who ended up losing to the revitalized Matsumoto. In a decent match, Kyuichi Matsumoto and Shuzo Utagawa defeated Funakoshi & Tanaka in 11:11 when Kyuichi Matsumoto defeated Jotaro Tanaka by pinfall with a Matsumoto Murder Bomb. Animal Harker & Ray Snow vs Bunrakuken Torii & Yoshinaka Taku If the previous match raised the bar a bit too early, the participants in this one were all too happy to pick up the gauntlet and deliver an equally exciting performance. Textbook tag team action for over fifteen minutes and a much needed bounce back win for Torii, following his losses at Generations and Rise. In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Yoshinaka Taku and Bunrakuken Torii defeated Animal Harker and Ray Snow in 16:12 when Bunrakuken Torii defeated Animal Harker by pinfall with a Spinning Forearm Smash. BCG World Tag Team titles match Threepwood & Goto © vs Partnership of Pain The first title defense for Threepwood and Goto was against the former title holders as Brody and Matsushita got their rematch for the gold. This bout was way better than it had any right to be, between the hosses underselling each other's attacks and Threepwood's technical prowess getting somewhat lost in the mix. Regardless, both teams have a natural connection and much experience between them, on top of the four men being largely over with the BCG fans in Chubu, all of which helped overshadow any weaknesses and make this ten or so minute title match truly great. In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Threepwood & Goto defeated Partnership Of Pain in 10:57 when Naozane Goto defeated Giant Brody by pinfall with a Goto Slam. Threepwood & Goto make defence number 1 of their BCG World Tag Team titles. Blast Ikoma vs Gidayu Katou Both men are mainly known as tag team wrestlers, so this singles match was a challenge as much as it was a test for them. Katou's warrior heart and power served him well in controlling most of the match, with Ikoma mostly doing comebacks using his trademark explosiveness for a suplex. In the end though it came down to ring IQ and experience, with the edge going to Ikoma as he outmaneuvered the impatient youngster to deliver his finisher and score the pin. In a good match, Blast Ikoma defeated Gidayu Katou in 14:01 by pinfall with a Northern Lights Bomb. BCG Challengers Series title match Motoyuki Miyake © vs Kiyotaka Much like in the semi main event, Kiyotaka here had to change his usual approach of tag team wrestling against the champion Miyake. Both men really showed their growth as they left their usual "rookie enthusiasm" behind in order to have a stellar slow burner of a match that pushed their bodies and spirits to the limit. The intensity was there, as was the drama and fans were on the edge of their seats as the match reached its climax, with Miyake delivering a decapitating KO Kick for the pin. In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Motoyuki Miyake defeated Kiyotaka in 16:05 by pinfall with a Knock Out Kick. Motoyuki Miyake makes defence number 6 of his BCG Challengers Series title. Show Rating:
  6. Once again, thank you for your comments. I know how the presentation of certain characters in some dynasties can be defining in people's perceptions of them, so reading about Ceri is high praise indeed. Case felt like a perfect fit for the Barracudas and they really needed a fourth member to even the odds against Pinn's group. As for the Guru's re-render, that's actually supposed to be for that other Guru in the US and not Vishni, but I'm using it regardless because it perfectly fits the tone I'm trying to nail with him as an enlightened psychopath mastermind. Cesar was actually decent, this is certainly the most shows I've had him around for and he didn't even cause a single incident, which is indeed rare for this backstage cancer. However, the product tweak really limited his performance and with the influx of new people, he ended up on the very bottom of the roster, with a wage and performance that really didn't justify him sticking around. Malietoa is kind of the mandatory Samoan wildman (this is Australia, after all) and as for the high flyers, I think the change in product definition gives them more room to really be something in DIW. I would much rather have you enjoy this while being awful at predicting my booking, rather than have you be spot-on with predictions and feel this is boring. Still alive here folks, next episode is almost written up. Once I'm done with writing out the main event match and formatting it all, which should be early next week, I'll be posting the next episode. Stay tuned!
  7. Just noticed this one of Steph Blake and it's a wonder it didn't catch my eye at first, as I do have something of a soft spot for a side shave. Wonder if Marie Punnen could get a similar re-render, if anyone's into it.
  8. Why choose? I say the first one with the smile is for while she's face, while the more serious second one with the piercings could be used when she's heel Amazing work as usual from the contributors to this thread!
  9. WINNOW Neon Genesis Evolution 10 Week 4, November 2016 Venue: Hall of Nagahama [Kinki, Japan] In Attendance: 293 Commentators: Hiranuma Makoto, Yuko Okui The Missouri Bruisers & Eri Sato vs BATTLE BEASTS & Deborah Young In a decent match, Eri Sato and The Missouri Bruisers defeated Deborah Young and BATTLE BEASTS in 14:43 when Eri Sato defeated BEAST Kaori by pinfall with a surprise cradle. Chitose Ariwara vs Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez vs Rei Chikanatsu In a decent match, Joanne Rodriguez defeated Chitose Ariwara and Rei Chikanatsu in 11:23 when Joanne Rodriguez defeated Chitose Ariwara by pinfall with a surprise cradle. After the match, Romi Yamato came out carrying the briefcase that contains her prize for winning the 2016 Joshi Royalty Summit Battle Royal. With all three WINNOW singles champion in the ring, tension was high and Yamato had a word for each, but she ended her speech by congratulating J-Ro for her victory at the Summit. Yamato said she knows that tournament victory and over Ariwara nonetheless, is sure to lead to a match for the WINNOW Grand Champion title, but before that can happen, she plans to take the WINNOW Rising Champion belt from her first. Rodriguez was all to happy to oblige and with Yamato cashing in her prize, the match will likely be happening at the final show of the year, Ashes of December. WWA World Tag Team titles match Hunter-Killers vs Crackdown In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Hunter-Killers defeated Crackdown in 10:36 when Dragon Assassin defeated Toni Parissi by pinfall with The Hit. Hunter-Killers win the WWA World Tag Team titles. After celbrating their big win and becoming the new WWA World Tag Team champions, Hunter-Killers cut the show's closing send-off promo to brag about themselves, claiming they are the best women's tag team in the world and these here titles are proof. Show Rating:
  10. Ever since the vacation of the WWA World Tag Team titles due to Nadia Snow' departure for USPW, social media has come alive with a series of aggressive posts such as the one above from Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko, essentially issuing an open challenge to anyone who would wrestle them for the gold. While their pressure has paid off, they may have bitten off more than they can chew, as today WINNOW announced the special main event of their upcoming Neon Genesis Evolution 10 show. After a stellar year so far, WINNOW's power couple of Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko, collectively known as Hunter-Killers, will be competing for the coveted titles against the WWA World champion Juana Juracan and her teammate "The New York Badass" Toni Parissi. The veteran duo has been competing under the name "Crackdown" in Texas-based Queens of American Wrestling and are currently in their third reign as QAW Tag Team champions. Both WINNOW and QAW have issued statements saying they're proud to put their champion duos in this dream match and fans are already speculating how this match could play out.

Jester is one of my favourite aussie workers, he can do both hardcore and high flying stuff, so he's a great fit for DIW especially after I increased the Daredevil aspect of the product, plus I love a good psycho clown gimmick and his table breaking thing brings back memories of Sabu. The Guru is there to help me tell a story and hopefully, it'll be one of DIW's major arcs.</p><p> </p><p> Don't wanna spoil any tounament outcomes, but that man is Gareth Case indeed, who I figured will fit the concept of the Barracudas well and that's one of King Bison's many awesome re-renders, as is Mulhoney, Vance Sturt, Mace Mueller etc. Apparently he had a rush of inspiration and re-did a lot of my roster, so I thank him very much for it.</p>
  13. World Heavyweight Championship Matty Faith versus "The Boss" Ross Henry Think Ross was the original plan anyway North American Heavyweight Championship Rick Law versus "The Hillbilly Hammer" Clyde Puder versus Torment © w/ Father Grim Not sure about Rick Law and decline, but I feel like he needs a bit of story first, do some chasing before winning. Looks like Torment retains by beating Puder so that he can go on to feud with Law "The Headhunter" Jeffery Aroma versus "The Supreme Star" Spencer Spade w/ Lisa Bowen Could have been a coin toss, but I have this crazy theory: Bowen costs Spade the match, turns face, goes off on maternity leave and is a ready-made face for that nostalgia pop once she returns North American Women's Championship Nadia Snow versus Lauren Easter © Don't think Snow is the one to take the belt of Lauren North American Women's Tag Team Championship Alicia Strong & Brooke Tyler w/ Lisa Bowen versus Amber Allen & Jamie Quine © I'm surprised by how long you've managed to keep Strong without gold around her waist United States Championship "The Latin Sensation" Leon Pena versus Ash Campbell © w/ Lisa Bowen Think Pena needs the "Butcher" treatment, give him a bit more character depth "The Cornerstone" Riley McManus versus "The Lucha Libre Legend" Champagne Lover If Lover is here on a one-off deal, it's to be another feather in Riley's cap North American Tag Team Championship American Muscle versus The Devil's Rejects © w/ February Malaise I prefer bikers to face painted musclemen, really. All four inductees are male. All have held the North American Tag Team Championship. 1. KC Glenn 2. James Diaz 3. Ox Mastadon 4. Raymond Diaz
  14. With this diary's first anniversary coming up in a couple of months, I took the time to go back to the first page and read some of the first shows and narratives. Man, how far the story and the company have come...
  15. Thanks, I'm pretty excited to keep it going myself! DIW and ZEN and my favourite promotions in the region and while I appreciate a Comedy-based promotion, I could never book and write one proper. I have a pretty clear vision of how I want to run the company, what stories I want to tell etc so this won't be fizzling out anytime soon, unless some RL stuff holds me back. While I'm cooking up the next episode of Violent Delight, here's how the tournament brackets look so far:
  16. Is it too late to sign up? I'm gonna need a lot of guidance since it'd be my first draft, but I'm interested and always seem to discover the thread when it's already several picks in. Edit: Scrap that, found the other thread and it seems the draft is finished. Oh well, maybe October...

It's been eating me ever since, how his actions made my victory feel... less than it should have been. So Comedian, I expect, nay, I DEMAND an apology!” <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/x8Jfp-6Flho" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The familiar music of the Comedian hits the speakers and with a lit smoke hanging off the edge of his lip as usual, the owner of DIW comes down to the ring and grabs the mic out of Tombstone's hands. The Comedian: "YOU UNGRATEFUL F**K!" Without much more, The Comedian kicks Tombstone in the gut and begins laying on him as the crowd roars in approval. After the initial shock, Tombstone fights back and it takes almost a dozen people to pull them apart under chants of "let them fight". Dumfrey Pinn vs East Coast Panther The visual tells the story, it's a David vs Goliath situation as the small high flyer takes on the big powerhouse in the opening contest. ECP starts the match strong, looking to evade his much slower opponent and tire him out. It's good to get the crowd going after a couple of flashy spots, but there is little there in terms of actual damage. The youngster quickly gets overconfident and tries to ascend the ropes for a high impact move, but gets caught by Pinn who assumes full control of the match from that point on. Venting his frustration for ECP's actions and probably his big loss at DIW Devil's Playground, Pinn demolishes the rookie in a glorified squash match before hitting the Boss-A-Nova... One… Two… THREE! Winner: Dumfrey Pinn Hawkins: Talk about a show of force, easy win for Dumfrey Pinn in our opening contest tonight. BJT: Bet he wishes it was as easy at DIW Devil's Playground, Dean. w The Barracudas vs Vance Sturt & Wez Dobberly (with Lori) Rourke and Dobberly start the match for their respective teams, but instead of fighting, Rourke signals he wants to wrestle Sturt instead and dares him to come in! Hawkins: Some bad blood still in the air Jim, Chopper Rourke hasn't forgotten how Sturt denied him a spot in the DIW Hardcore Championship tournament! BJT: And Sturt doesn't look like he's into it, he's mocking Rourke! Hawkins: Trying to get in his opponent's head? BJT: That, plus Sturt will be wrestling Blitz Simpson in the first round of the tournament so he wants to stay fresh and do as much damage as he can to his future opponent. Not happy at all with being overlooked, Dobberly slaps the snot out of Chopper Rourke and beats him down to get the match started proper as Lori cheers him on from ringside. As soon as he gets a chance though, Rourke rolls out of the ring to regroup. Dobberly follows… *BANG!* Hawkins: It's a trap! BJT: Rourke lured him in and Dobberly ate that chair shot as unprotected as it can get! Hawkins: Sturt rushes to the rescue, looks like that finally got under his skin... BJT: But here comes Blitz Simpson too, this is a free for all now! All four men brawl outside the ring, frequently grabbing anything they can get their hands on to swing as a weapon. Lori does her best to provide a distraction, but soon it's clear that Dobberly has been rocked by the chair shot. Just as the tide seems to turn against Pinn Enterprises... Mace Mueller runs out to the rescue! His charge ends with a full-on punt kick to Rourke's head! Hawkins: Chopper Rourke is out! That's the same move that injured Blitz Simpson last month! BJT: Simpson noticed, but he's caught between Sturt and Mueller! The two men gang up to beat down Simpson, but then... Hawkins: It's Vaughan! They're too caught up to notice him! BJT: Two can play this game and Vaughan wasn't going to just sit and watch his mates get pasted! DOUBLE CHOKESLAM! Vaughan takes out Mueller and Sturt in one fell swoop, while Blitz Simpson drags a staggering Wez Dobberly back into the ring... Puts his feet on the second rope... Lifting DDT! Cover! One… Two… THREE! Winners: The Barracudas Hawkins: This match may be over, but the fight isn't and here comes Angus McMiller to assist the rest of Pinn's crew! With the frantic ringing of the bell as a background, the two groups attack each other in a wild brawl in and out of the ring. The Barracudas have big bad Vaughn leading the group, but eventually the numbers game catches up to them and he gets hit with a sneaky low blow from behind, courtesy of Angus McMiller. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eq07IKQBKQs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> A new song hits the speakers of Marv's Sports Central, signalling the arrival of someone. Everyone's attention, fans' and that of Pinn's cronies is focused on the entrance... And out comes a new face, wearing gloves and boxing shorts. His arms and torso are covered in tattoos and from looks alone, it is clear whose side he's on. Indeed, the new fighter takes to the ring and quickly cleans house, delivering precise blows to the ribs, kidneys and liver of his opponents to incapacitate them before throwing them out of the ring. The brawl ends with the Barracudas standing tall next to their newest member and everyone wondering who this is. DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match w Mayhem Mulhoney vs Angus McMiller (with Lori) This match officially kicks off the DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament but not the way Angus McMiller would like as, despite his best effort to stay away from the action and wrestle fresh, he comes into the match with his body and his spirit damaged by the brawl earlier. Likewise, Lori is spent and unfocused due to everything that preceded the match, thus unable to offer much help to McMiller. However, Mulhoney doesn't capitalize on the opportunity; instead, he looks angered, almost insulted by McMiller's lackluster fighting spirit. Again and again, he shouts at him to stand back up, dares him to give him "something" and even offers a few unprotected shots, something you'd probably expect to see from a BHOTWG or PGHW wrestler. McMiller is all to happy to exploit any opening, but just can't bring the wild man down and after ten or so minutes of back and forth action, Mulhoney looks fed up and switches gears for a sequence that ends with his Cradle Powerslam finisher. One… Two… THREE! Winner: Mayhem Mulhoney Hawkins: Mulhoney advances! I bet McMiller's regretting his involvement in the fight before this match... BJT: This leaves Vance Sturt as the only member of Pinn Enterprises still in the tournament! A pre-recorded message airs on the screen and speakers. Miss Cerizabeth is standing on the side of Blaze Maximum. Blaze: "Oooooh yeah... Now that is a worthy opponent for Blaze Maximum, yeah... I'm in the DIW Hardcore Championship title now and only a KING would be worthy opposition, mmmmmyeah.... Kinnnng Malietoa, they call him... wild crazy man from the islands... but is he wild and crazy to the maximum, hmmm?" MC: "King Malietoa! This is one crown you can't have... because my client here is destined to be the DIW Hardcore champion and there's nothing you, or anyone else for this matter can do to stop him!" DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match Hell's Jester vs Milton Hittlespitz Main event time and the intensity of the clash from the opening bell sets the tone in a match that's not only part of the DIW Hardcore Championship Tournament but also a very personal case, following the debut of Hell's Jester and the beating he gave to Milton Hittlespitz. The two lock up and trade short-range blows from the start of the match to a standstill. After a brief pause to regroup and think this through, the two wrestlers hit the ropes and run around, eventually colliding in the middle to start a chain sequence of rolls and flips, again with neither clearly gaining any ground until Milton dodges a lariat and slides out of the ring to grab a steel chair! Not to be outdone, Hell's Jester rolls out on the other side and also grabs a chair. The two meet back in the ring and start swinging, the metallic sound of chairs clashing as neither man is able to land a clean hit on his opponent. Hawkins: Talk about a match that's right down the middle, Jim! BJT: It's a mirror match, Dean. Everything one man can do, the other can do too, and equally well. Frustrated with the stalemate, the two wrestlers throw the chairs at each other (which end up clashing one last time mid air in the middle of the ring) and slide back out. Apparently they both have the same idea to go for a table and they're down to a race over who can set it up first. Finishing almost at the same time, they lock up in the middle of the ring as they try to whip each other. It's reversal after reversal, until Hell's Jester decides to switch his game and instead of reversing, allows the whip but maintains wrist control, dragging Milton with him. Oh my God! C-4 over the top rope! THEY BOTH GO THROUGH THE TABLE! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6b5czixF1dg" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Lights switch to a multi-coloured splash of everything and a hypnotic tune takes over the speakers. Indian lyrics fade in and at the top of the entrance ramp, a man walks out... Hawkins: What the... that's Guru Vishni! BJT: As if this match wasn't enough of a comedy already... What's he doing here?!? Hawkins: Wait, wasn't he and Jester both in that NZ group? The Guru's presence, combined with the effect of his music and light show seems to have an effect over Hell's Jester, who rises out of the debris with renewed vigor. As if spellbound, he drags the semi-unconscious body of Milton Hittlespitz back to the ring... Punchline! Cover! One… Two… THREE! Winner: Hell's Jester With a satisfied smile to his face, the Guru grabs a mic and slides into the ring. He and Hell's Jester stand tall over the defeated Milton Hittlespitz. Guru: "Do you mongrels believe in enlightenment and tranquility? Too bad... because I'm here to bring darkness and chaos!" As if to drive the point home, Hell's Jester and the Guru attack the already helpless Hittlespitz, then the Guru pulls a fork out of his robes and drives it into Milton's forehead! It doesn't take long for things to get bloody and the vicious duo holds up their victim's bloodied face for all to see as they strike a pose next to him. Fan heat slowly turns into legitimate hatred and the Guru fans the flames by flipping the audience off. Just before an all out riot is about to go down, Hell's Jester and the Guru retreat, flipping off the audience one last time before going behind the curtain to end the show. Show Rating: </div>

They'd spent about an hour together, singing along to the latest pop hits while badly dancing in the limited space available. Every party eventually winds down to a drunken haze however and this was where they were at, with Ichihara watching her friend screaming her throat off to Adele's "Hello". They didn't know each other for too long or all that well; Ichihara had been the main monster heel of 5SSW while Mushashibo was rotting away in the wasteland that was the joshi scene outside of 5SSW, until WINNOW brought them together in the locker room. Their bonding was the stuff romantic comedies and teenage movies are made out of. Mushashibo had been singing along to herself while applying her trademark facepaint, Ichihara picked up on the song and they ended up synching in an impromptu duet that had the rest of the girls clapping by the end of it. For everyone else, it had been a fun moment that raised their spirits before the show. For the two of them, it was the start of a beautiful friendship.</p><p> </p><p> In Japan, puroresu is super serious business, unless of course you're doing outright comedy wrestling like the boys over at WLW do. As they ended up discovering after their duet incident, they both liked to unwind with a bit of karaoke silliness after a show. A casual suggestion to try it out together once had turned into a full blown karaoke craze and even after Mushashibo's retirement, the two women kept in touch, for business as took over the dojo but also for fun, as was the case now.</p><p> </p><p> "I blew the Summit" Ichihara finally let the weight off her chest once the song was over. "Kinue's debut was lost in the shuffle, the tag matches were predictable as hell and I even forgot to bring Estrella Blanca in from GDR so I had to settle for Pink... She doesn't even do GDR shows any more!"</p><p> </p><p> Mushashibo heard it all as she slowly gulped down water from her glass after pouring her soul into her performance of the song. "You're being too hard on yourself" she finally said.</p><p> </p><p> "Don't give me that canned response" Ichihara snapped. "I'm being real. I blew the Summit and I'm probably going to blow our budget too. I've made some calls to bring in more people. Contracts are coming up for renewal and I just can't bring myself to cut anyone."</p><p> </p><p> Lioness Mushashibo seemed unphased. "Well, the dojo isn't going to be giving you any new talent for a while, so you're not all that bad with shaking up the roster." She paused, looking at a confused Ichihara. "It's the tsunami. People aren't exactly willing to pay for wrestling classes. Speaking of which, you've brought in a bunch of big name talent from abroad for the Summit, despite the economy going to hell. Now that's big. It's not like you have the size or pockets of Burning Hammer. Given the circumstances, you did the best you could. It can only get better from here on."</p><p> </p><p> Ichihara stood in silence, battling her ego as she processed her friend's words. The screen of her phone came alive, drawing her attention. They always put their phones on silent when in the booth.</p><p> </p><p> "You're probably right. I'd better get home to my husband."</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46665" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>Author's note:</strong> Echoing Historian earlier, a combination of work and summer holidays kept me from making any new posts on this diary, but we're both back, baybay! The former WINNOW Duet champion sent bodies flying around and eliminated McGee and Bilous on top of Kinue before she herself was thrown out thanks to the combined efforts of the remaining competitors. Winters and Flame had an interesting exchange as did Davis and Jankovic, harkening to their ongoing title feud with EWA in Europe. However, the match itself was anything but a breather; Kuroda continued her tradition of fast paced, show stealing performances in singles titles matches and Chikanatsu was all too happy to keep up, making the best of her speed and agility as she went hold for hold with her opponent. The two wrestlers proved that mat grappling and shoot style submission wrestling doesn’t have to be slow and boring as they delivered an exciting, hotly contested bout that ended with Chikanatsu barely sliding out of a tight spot before Kuroda could execute a Dragon Suplex, only to counter with her own finisher for the tap out.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Rei Chikanatsu (Defenses: 3)</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Finish: Blue Crab Surprise [single Leg Boston Crab, applied after a backward roll to take down the opponent]</strong></p><p> <img alt="vPM9lw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vPM9lw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Before the next match, a short video montage aired to recap the rivalry between the next two teams, Hunter-Killers and The Missouri Bruisers.</p><p> <img alt="gUMXSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gUMXSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="Y6pJqfM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Y6pJqfM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Joshi Royalty Tag Team Summit Finals</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="vhgBwyi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vhgBwyi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GtkXUah.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GtkXUah.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="0zz5IM2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0zz5IM2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="HswIKR1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HswIKR1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Hunter-Killers vs The Missouri Bruisers</strong></p><p> Unlike the previous match, this was a slow burner and it worked like clockwork, giving fans time to regroup and the wrestlers time to tell a story right. Essentially, this was all about stamina, toughness and resilience: Hunter-Killers had a relatively easy qualifying match, whereas Morris and Gorgon were already hurt from their own qualifier against BATTLE BEASTS. On top of that, The Missouri Bruisers were the older team, plus given their size and powerhouse style of wrestling, the longer the match went on, the worse it was for them. Fans were really drawn into the story of the gaijin’s uphill battle against a pair of highly skilled opponents who took their time to clinically dismantle them and by the time the match reached its climax, it felt so good it almost didn’t matter who would win. In the end, the result was a repeat of last month’s clash, with Huntress Makiko taking out Connie Morris to become the inaugural winners of the WINNOW Joshi Royalty Tag Team Summit.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Hunter-Killers</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Makiko Clutch [straight-jacketed Camel Clutch]</strong></p><p> <img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Likewise, before the main event, fans were treated to a video package that recaped the rivalry between the two finalists, Chitose Ariwara and Joanne Rodriguez.</p><p> <img alt="EjdrcWN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EjdrcWN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="mggBTBN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mggBTBN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>WINNOW Joshi Royalty Summit Final</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="zPaHPzb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zPaHPzb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NVsHmIw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NVsHmIw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Chitose Ariwara vs Joanne “J-Ro” Rodriguez</strong></p><p> WINNOW Grand Champion versus WINNOW Rising Champion for the big finale and even though neither belt was on the line, the setup really helped elevate the titles’ prestige while giving this match the big fight feel. Rodriguez was up against the fresh and rested Ariwara, though unlike the previous match, Ariwara showed honour and sportsmanship in her ways instead of trying to take advantage of her opponents’ weak moments. Perhaps that’s why the match lacked that extra spark to it, despite solid performances from both competitors and although Rodriguez did eventually manage to win, her victory didn’t feel as big as it would have if the story had been built a little better.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Joanne Rodriguez</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: J-Rocker [Face Crusher] off the top rope</strong></p><p> <img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> After the match, Joanne Rodriguez was handed the Joshi Royalty Summit trophy under a rain of streamers and confetti in celebration. 20. <p>I'd like to see a Three Stages of Hell match for the main event. The title is hung above the ring and the match starts as a Weapon on a Pole match. Said weapon is the same kendo stick that was used to attack Boone during the last episode of Supreme Metal. Once the first fall is scored, the second stage is a Tables match. After someone has gone through a table, the title can be retrieved and the rest plays out as a Ladder match.</p><p> </p><p> As for the narrative, I'd be interested to look inside the mind of Spencer Spade. Fresh out of the SWF empire, thrown his lot with the "traitorous" Eisen son, switching from sports entertainment to hardcore wrestling and faced with such a stipulation against a legitimate hardcore legend, Madman Boone. The amish wrestler started the match and looked hellbent on punishing his two opponents for costing him the Piledriver United States title, almost ending the match three minutes in but only getting a two count for his effort. Siaki and Reaper each assisted the other with sneaky shots from the outside, before working together in the ring to flatten Jebediah with a double charging avalanche that saw him get sandwiched between their frames. Moor broke up the subsequent pin and things fell apart as he clotheslined Siaki out of the ring. Reaper followed for an all out brawl, in which Moor and Siaki ended up taking out each other when they clashed head-on in opposing charges. Patriot threw in the occasional suplex or submission hold to mix things up too, the pace allowing Wright to regroup and recover so he could join the fray. The initial response has shown that the promotion's old stomping grounds of the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Florida would barely be able to fit half of the fans wanting to attend, so the venue that will host Thanksbeating 2020 will instead be in Atlanta, Georgia with a capacity of 1.000 seats. According to Piledriver Wrestling's founder and owner Lee Wright, he wants to re-connect with the fans who were "kinda left behind" after the promotion's merge with Mid Atlantic Wrestling and subsequent move to the Carolinas. Wright mentioned that thanks to the promotion's broadcasting deal with The Carolinas Network, this will allow fans in the Mid Atlantic region to stay up to date while Piledriver Wrestling seeks to land a similar deal for the South Eastern area and will therefore be hosting its monthly shows there, with War for Territory still held in the Mid Atlantic region.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="mFQKCE8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mFQKCE8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Ernest Youngman signs with Piledriver Wrestling</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> "The Assassin of the Squared Circle" Ernest Youngman may have not been offered a contract extention by NYCW, but their fellow COTT allies Piledriver Wrestling were quick to offer him a 3 year deal instead.
