  1. The Comedian cracked open a Foster’s and raised the bottle in salute to the words of his former ally and employee, Menace to Sobriety, as the opening segment of Josh Rosenberg’s 2014 “Why We Fight” documentary transitioned to the DVD menu options. A cult hit with both hardcore wrestling fans and Sundance indie hipsters around the world, this to him was more than the crucial money shot that kept his promotion going through hard times. He’d sit down every once in a while, have a few beers, smoke a bunch and watch it again, even if he knew every line by this point. It was relaxing, it was nostalgic but most of all, it was grounding. It reminded him why, at 40 years of age, he was still taking chair shots and getting put through tables. Why he was still promoting shows and running a company in the East Coast of Australia, even if he’d handed down creative duties to his long time friend Big Jim Teasdale after the very first show. Mayhem Mulhoney’s face filled the screen, any space left was filled by the fuzzy mane he had for hair. Alongside the Comedian, he was one of the true originals of DIW. The wild fist-fighter had been there since the first show, actually one of the first few people to be hired when the company was created. Their feud was what put the promotion on the map during its early days. Like the Comedian, he was willing to wrestle under any stipulation and take any bump, no matter how insane. In a way, they were two sides of the same coin, but right now it felt like a mirror’s reflection and the Comedian didn’t like what he saw in it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Oi mate” he heard the gruff voice of Big Jim on the other end of the phone line. You didn’t have to see the man to know he looked like a grizzly bear, his voice carried that across just fine. No wonder he ended up behind the announcers’ table after retiring from the ring. “We need to go all the way, Jim” he said, skipping the formalities. “All the f**king way.” “The hell’s that supposed to mean?” Teasdale sounded confused. “I’m taking the book back. I gotta go all the way” the Comedian responded. “Run the shows." Teasdale paused, taking in the news. “Did I do something wrong?” “F**k no, Jim! This ain’t about you, mate. I ain’t got much left in the tank. I gotta prepare for what happens after I hang up my boots. I can’t manage people and I sure as hell cannot be an Authority Figure, I’m the exact f**king opposite of that. Was thinking you might be that, actually. People know you as the booker and as my friend. It makes sense. We’ll be the ones defending the company against Pinn Enterprises.” Big Jim snorted on the other end of the line. “Sounds like you got a bunch of ideas already, mate. Means you can still land on your head few more times ‘till you retire.” “Oh I got a sh*tload of ideas, ol’ friend. Bunch o’ people I wanna bring in. Stories we could tell. Characters. Twists. Spots. Tweaks to our style.” “Tweaks?” Teasdale cut him off, a hint of worry in his tone. “Nothing major, ol’ timer. Just cut down on the sexual stuff a bit, focus on the action. Add some high flying action to the mix so kids like ECP have a place in the mix. I’ve already contacted Marv’s, we got the place booked for every Friday night. People gonna come in after a week of getting f**ked at their jobs…” “EVERY Friday?” Teasdale cut him off again. “Whaddya mean EVERY Friday? It’s not a TV show mate! We’ll go bankrupt before the end of the year!” “If you’re gonna do it, might as well go all the way” the Comedian repeated Mayhem Mulhoney’s words, stroking his own ego in satisfaction. “People go for a drink after work anyway, might as well down it watching our show. Word’ll spread faster and we’ll make up for the losses with increasing tickets every week.” “I don’t know how the boys’ll take it though. Cuts down their recovery time real bad. You know the atmosphere backstage is anything but...nice.” “They’re no wimps Jim, I bet they’ll suck it up in return for a more frequent pay” the Comedian reassured his long time friend, knowing both their trust in the roster’s resilience was well placed. “Besides..." Nice Boys don’t play Rock and Roll
  2. <p>For my money, being able to quickly match a worker's requested amount is a small but significant "quality of life" improvement.</p><p> </p><p> The addition of individual wrestler performances in match history is also good and should make looking back at a worker's performances easier without having to track everything on separate spreadsheets (been there, it's a mess) because match ratings alone can be misleading.</p>
  3. Haven't seen a PSW dynasty in a long while and it's an interesting spin, given how most people play it as a DAVE nostalgia/revival deal. Plus, as one of those (not so) few people who followed and enjoyed you WEXXV dynasty, I'm signing for this one too. Not an SWF fan so it felt odd at first, but as I read on I loved the idea of an Eisen running PSW. That would also explain you recent batch of PSW folks on the re-render thread. And the PSW logo/belts on your personal thread #stalker
  4. "You don't have to do this, sir. We made a deal for three years and I haven't even wrapped up a single one yet." I looked at Brooke's beautiful face as I took in her words, trying to wrap my head around the madness of the situation. She, a wrestler who'd been offered a non-exclusive deal to work for more money at a bigger company, was trying to convince me, her boss, to not terminate our agreed-upon contract. She wanted to keep working for both companies and she was already our top female heel, but I had a fixed budget, rigid financial goals and a massive roster that could do with a little trimming. On top of that, I had made a promise to myself when Piledriver Wrestling began: if any worker gets a deal with anyone bigger than us, don't hold them down. "I don't have to, but I am going to" I said. She gave me a puzzled look. Part of it was my words, part of it her not being able to tell from my facial expression behind the mask. I was no longer living the gimmick 24/7 as the Sheik, but El Masked Sheik wore his mask at all times like an old school luchador. "Queens are spilling out of Texas and need a larger roster" I said, as if I was delivering the solution to some great mystery. "That's why they called you. That's why they signed Eri [sato] for once she's back from labor. Deborah [Young] and Talia [Quinzel] too. All great talent I've worked with. You'll do great with Farrah. There's only so far you can go in a Women's Division, but in an all-female promotion..." "She's already picked Foxxy LaRue as her figurehead" Brooke cut me off. I could tell she wasn't pleased with the fact. Probably the decision or announcement was made after she'd agreed to work for QAW. "Foxxy's an established face there, as is Jillian [Jarvis]" I reassured her. "They've both held the COTT Women's title, for crying out loud. They call Danielle [sweetheart] The Queen of Hearts because she's won that tournament God knows how many times. Don't expect to go there and not pay your dues while you get over with the fans. You're only what, 26 now?" She nodded in agreement. "You're gonna be a star and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!" Brooke nodded slowly, trying to take my compliment with grace. "I'm gonna tell Farrah I'll stick around till October's Where It All Begins Again. If I'm going out without winning the title, you better make sure I get a send-off worthy of the star you think I'll be!" She stood up and left my office, trying to end the conversation there before I could argue. It worked too, because only after she'd shut the door behind her I realized she'd essentially booked the terms of her write-out without even negotiating them with me. Daddy taught her more about wrestling that just moves and promos, it seemed. I leaned back into the reassuring sound of my office chair creaking it's way closer to a big snap, pulling my laptop closer as I clicked the bookmark to totalextremewrestling.com "Well, at least these guys are too small to steal our talent" I thought to myself as I clicked the Company Ratings link. My eyes widened as I realized what was happening. Sure, I'd promised myself if any worker gets a deal with anyone bigger than us, I wouldn't hold them down but I hadn't said anything about signing workers from promotions smaller than us. Even if they were COTT allies... I frantically swept papers and office junk to the side as I searched for my phone in the mess that was my office desk. A blinking light notified me of a text I never heard arriving, probably received while I was talking to Brooke. "Yeah, sure, f**k you Lee, you out of touch old timer. You and your oldschool territory sh*t" I thought to myself as I hit delete before punching in a number to call. "What's up, coach?" He was no ex-footballer like Moor or high school sports star like Ferrera, but he'd still refer to his higher ups as 'coach' for some reason. "I got two empty seats for the ladies' section of the roster. You still got Dee's number?" I got straight to the point, hoping I wasn't scratching any scars. "Sure thing, coach!" said Nate, the enthusiasm apparent in his tone. "Good. Tell her to give me a call when she can, but don't wait too long" I said and hung up a la Brooke Tyler, trying to end the call before he heard my sigh of relief they were still dating. Now, to fill that second spot. I had just the person in mind...

The visual of him against his opponent screamed social issues and police brutality, but the booking fortunately did not go there. Instead, DeMarcus' natural athleticism meshed nicely with Night's technical excellence and they focused on that chemistry to work a straightforward wrestling match that started the show strong and fired up the crowd for the ten or so minutes it lasted before a Snap Tackle laid Night down for the count.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Nate "The Great" DeMarcus, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="MzjfHKV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MzjfHKV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="oSBICFE.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oSBICFE.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Backstage, the Diaz cousins were discussing about their announced match for next month's Deadly Game, where they will be teaming up to wrestle Reaper and Cali Slick. Sawyer had a night of comedy gold acting like he was also managing the daughter the legendary Eric Tyler, with Brooke waving off his attempts to steal some of her shine. This was what allowed Miss Atlantic Wrestling to be in control of the match at first, but then something magical happened once Svelte gave the tag to her partner. Combining their joint technical prowess, Svelte and Tyler worked like a well oiled machine to dismantle their poor opponent, better than Svelte has ever been able to do with Talia Quinzel as The Uprising. Sawyer's excitement over what he was witnessing threw his team off track though and Miss Atlantic Wrestling had a chance to tag in the Piledriver Women's champion who came in like a house on fire with a ton of momentum to clean house. Once the rush of the hot tag wore off though, Tyler and Svelte used their teamwork to shut her down and turn the tide, forcing her to tag her partner back in for a breather, only for Svelte to catch her with a release suplex before tagging in Tyler to apply the Brooke Breaker [Full Nelson Camel Clutch] for the tap out.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte, by submission</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="QK3E9f9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QK3E9f9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GIRKb76.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GIRKb76.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bbqnlQz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bbqnlQz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> "Killer" Carl Bernard vs Julius Moor</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> A hard hitting hoss fight, this match was actually much better than it may have sounded on paper. Both men showed they're more than just big men out to squash jobbers, with Bernard looking nothing like the rookie he actually is and Moor proving his critics wrong as a former football star who transitioned into pro wrestling. All in all a solid contest, with Moor maintaining his winning streak after he gored his opponent with the Charging Tackle.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Julius Moor, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="6ffpmx9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6ffpmx9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="TqXBSjr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TqXBSjr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> In their first appearance since winning this year's Sam Keith Classic, the Shining Stars gave an extensive interview about themselves, life after NYCW and of course, their recent tournament victory. Tennessee Williams did most of the talking, saying they were approached afterwards by Piledriver officials with a contract offer, to which they agreed only as long as they would be getting matches against certain opponents they wanted to face. The Tag Team titles are their ultimate goal of course, but for now the Mid Atlantic Express are set to face McManus and Garner for them, so that would have to wait. Their first opponents would be the Good Ol' Boys, at next month's Deadly Game. As Harker pointed out, the two teams never crossed paths in the tournament and the Good Ol' Boys are last year's winners, so it's a pretty big deal, plus their involvement in their match against the Boys from the Yukon undermined their own tournament win, meaning they are really looking forward to this match to prove naysayers wrong.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="M4SOg7D.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/M4SOg7D.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="V6GDKvw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/V6GDKvw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Piledriver United States title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="amsxoxV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/amsxoxV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GIRKb76.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GIRKb76.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="ejbjbKm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ejbjbKm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Jebediah © vs Buck Winchester</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Everyone knew what they were getting with this match, including the two competitors in it, but no one expected how out of control things would get. Winchester came into the fight guns blazing and Jebediah wasn't shy about keeping up since after all he's pretty athletic for a man his size. Less of a wrestling match and more like an out of control bar brawl, this one spilled out of the ring and involved some high impact maneuvers, like when Jebediah hit a running canonball off the apron to the ringside on his opponent. As the match went on without any man clearly having the advantage, the pace and hits started to take their toll on the competitors and things almost came to a grinding halt as they crept back into the ring to wrap things up, with Jebediah hitting his Sundown Splash to retain.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Jebediah, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> Jebediah makes defence number 3 of his Piledriver United States title</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="2FjO0qV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2FjO0qV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="amsxoxV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/amsxoxV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Jebediah's victory announcement was cut short by Reaper, who came out on top of the ramp with a mic in hand to issue a challenge for the amish champion's title. His challenger, none other than Masked Patriot himself, a former Piledriver and COTT World Heavyweight champion in his own right. Though equally physical and brawl-heavy as the semi main event, this contest was different as the two men took their time to pace themselves and build up the match, making it feel much like what one would expect to see headlining a Japanese promotion's show. Patriot showed all the heart and skill that's become synonymous with his name, while Slick once again proved he's a talented striker who was only held back by the chaotic hardcore environment of GSW. All in all an extremely even match, until the challenger hit the champion with the Patriot Slam. 8. Totally agree with this. It actually feels like an upgrade to the commentary mail we'd get in TEW16, from "this kid's gonna be a star and you should push him" to "this kid's gonna be a star, you should put me in a program with him so I can put him over". I'm also interested to see how that dynamic interacts with worker relationships, especially cliques. Curious to see if actually pulling the trigger on the proactive ones also results in an improved performance or match rating boost, kinda like the way call-outs and feuds to in WMMA. Speaking of which, I'd love to see that mechanic imported to TEW with workers using social media to fan the flames of ongoing feuds or announced matches.
  9. WINNOW Fall Brawl 2016 <div style="padding: 15px; border: 5px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #DAA520; max-width:75%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";"> WINNOW Fall Brawl 2016 Week 2, September 2016 Venue: Hall of Nagahama [Kinki, Japan] In Attendance: 252 Commentators: Hiranuma Makoto, Yuko Okui Hiranuma Makoto: What a night tonight, ladies and gentlemen welcome to WINNOW, Japanese Women's Wrestling! I'm Hiranuma Makoto and with me as usual is the knowledgable Yuko Okui. Yuko Okui: Great to be here again and I can't wait to get tonight's show underway, we have a bunch of interesting matches and two title contests headlining WINNOW Fall Brawl 2016! Hiranuma Makoto: Both matches in the aftermath of last month's Golden Dreams show, "The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda will be defending her Rising Champion title against probably her biggest challenge yet in Joanne Rodriguez while in the main event, Rei Chikanatsu will face one of the fastest rising stars on the roster, Eri "Strong Style" Sato! Non-title match Hunter-Killers vs Team Endorphine vs BATTLE BEASTS A three way tag match to start off the night and while the WINNOW Duet titles weren't on the line, both Team Endorphine and BATTLE BEASTS were looking to score a victory over the champions to earn themselves a chance at gold down the line. Between Team Endorphine's excellent tag team chemistry and the brutal physicality of BATTLE BEASTS, Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko were hit from all sides and had to take this match seriously, with Makiko especially wrestling like her life depended upon it and Assassin scoring the win after catching the inexperienced Miyoshi with a surprise Lariat. Winners: Hunter-Killers Finish: Lariat Chitose Ariwara, Mystery Pink & Faith McGee vs Romi Yamato, Thea Davis & Zofia Jankovic Three bubbly, cheerful high flyers up against three ultra serious, hard hitting competitors in this match and though it was good, part of the excitement was gone due to the spectacular contest that preceded it. Yamato was rock solid as usual and Davis put up an equally good performance on top of apparently being a surprise hit with the crowd, while Jankovic looked like she's still getting used to the joshi wrestling style. On the opposite corner, their opponents brought a widely different mix of high flying styles to the match, with Ariwara's japanese junior approach, Pink's lucha libre and McGee's classic american cruiserweight throwing them off just enough for Ariwara to successfully pull off her finisher on Davis and score the pin. Winners: Chitose Ariwara, Mystery Pink & Faith McGee Finish: Victory Roll Connie Morris vs Sakura Sada Though still showing signs of lasting damage from her former partner's pre-match attack at Golden Dreams, Connie Morris was at least able to focus on her match without having to worry about interference, since Deborah Young had been suspended for her actions. Sakura Sada gave her a decent challenge, the match however was brought down by the fact that the two women just couldn't get on the same page; Sada undersold her opponent's big signature moves and Morris looked odd trying to work through Sada's high flying offense, all the way to the finish and her odd reversal of a Tornado DDT into her finishing move. Winners: Connie Morris Finish: Misouri Plough [Running Samoan Drop] Connie Morris had her hand raised but before she could leave the ring, "Dangerous" Deborah Young slid in from behind her with a chair in hand and dropped her with a thunderous shot that echoed across the Hall of Nagahama! No ringing of the bell or young lions that selflessly threw themselves at her would stop the Dangerous One who wreacked havoc until the speakers came alive... ...and out comes former USPW star Gorgon, Morris' former tag team partner in 5SSW to a thunderous ovation from the fans! Young looks like she's seen a ghost but Gorgon is very, very real as she soon finds out when she gets in her face before blasting her with a series of chops and forearms! Young drops the chair and is reeling as Gorgon picks her up for her trademark Hydra Bomb [Crucifix Powerbomb] finisher! Out of sheer survival instinct though, Young is able to wiggle free and roll out of the ring, cautiously retreating as Gorgon stares daggers at her. The newcomer then helps her long time tag team partner up and falls into her arms in a hug, fans applauding as the reunited Missouri Bruisers stand tall in the middle of the ring. WINNOW Rising Champion title match "The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda © vs Joanne "J-Ro" Rodriguez Co-main event time and first of the night's two title matches, it's Ginko Kuroda defending her title against the challenger Rodriguez and once again, the match is another fast paced, exciting show stealer of a contest. J-Ro throws everything she's got at the champion and Kuroda literally rolls with the punches as she transitions into takedowns and suplexes. Rodriguez has a huge moment when she's able to reverse a basic transitional front facelock into the J-Rocker out of nowhere, but Kuroda kicks out just before the referee's count of three! Not much longer though, Rodriguez returns the favor when she kicks out at two after being on the working end of a Dragon Suplex! Kuroda goes big to finish off her challenger and after building up some steam, she goes to the corner in an attempt for a Dragon Superplex! Just before she's about to pull the trigger, J-Ro comes alive and fights her way out of it, reversing into a spectacular face crusher off the top of the post, a modified J-Rocker followed by the cover... One... Two... Three! Winner and NEW WINNOW Rising Champion: Joanne Rodriguez Finish: J-Rocker [Face Crusher] off the top rope Thrilled with her victory as she's handed the belt, Rodriguez celebrates before pausing to pay her respects to Kuroda for the challenge she put up. Kuroda bows in a show of respect and walks away, leaving Rodriguez to cut a victory promo in Japanese in the ring. WINNOW Pure Heart Champion title match Rei Chikanatsu © vs Eri "Strong Style" Sato With more than twice her challenger's years in experience, Chikanatsu starts the match in control but that quickly makes her overconfident and she spends a moment too much playing to the live crowd. Her wake up call comes in the form of a swift judo takedown from Sato, who pummels the champion with stiff, precise shots. A Buzzsaw Kick goes wide as Chikanatsu jumps out of its path, then bounces back with a desperation dropkick and both wrestlers end up on the mat in a stalemate. Showing remarkable resilience and a true warrior's spirit, Sato is the first to make it back on her feet and she resumes punishing her opponent, eventually trapping her in the corner for the Sato Tornado [spin Kick]. Again, Chikanatsu barely avoids it by rolling forward and under its trajectory, before pulling Sato's other leg to get her in the Blue Crab Surprise in the middle of the ring for the big finish. Winner: Rei Chikanatsu (Defenses: 2) Finish: Blue Crab Surprise [single Leg Boston Crab, applied after a backward roll to take down the opponent] Show Rating: </div>

  11. War for Territory #32 War for Territory #32 Saturday, Week 2 August, 2020 Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC w Claire Winters, Miss Atlantic Wrestling & Nicole Pyle vs Sawyer Sports Services (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer) Sawyer's trio was firing on all cylinders in the opening contest, once again punishing Miss Atlantic Wrestling who sold the lingering shoulder injury like crazy. Nicole Pyle made the best of the opportunity she was given to not get lost in the suffle and almost looked like she had the match won all on her own, before Sawyer shook the ropes to throw her off balance before she could hit a big aerial move, allowing Trigg to catch her with a decapitating Crunching Sickle for the pin. Winners: Sawyer Sports Services, by pinfall after Playboy Jake Sawyer interfered In a pre-recorder promo, Brooke Tyler spoke of her big title match at the Sam Keith Classic X, saying she was so close to forcing Lora Washington to submit and blaming referee Alvin Lavin for not letting the match continue because she knows that was the only reason she didn't win and Washington's still the Piledriver Women's champion. Next up, a video was shown with highlights of both Julius Moor and Carl Bernard demolishing opponents, before a graphic confirmed that they will indeed be butting heads at this month's upcoming show, Headstrong. In a short but to-the-point promo, Buck Winchester announced that he will be facing Jebediah for the Piledriver United States title at Headstrong, promising to defeat him for the title he brought prestige to in the first place. Backstage, James Diaz and Nate DeMarcus are talking tactics for their match next against the Boys from the Yukon when Logan Diaz walks by and stops to wish them luck. Logan says he isn't booked to wrestle tonight so he'd be more than happy to be on their corner and counterbalance the sneaky seductress Lisa Bowen, but James doesn't want to hear it and cuts him off mid-sentence, saying he and Nate can handle themselves without him before he storms off, leaving both Logan and DeMarcus baffled, with DeMarcus shrugging before he too leaves to make his entrance with James Diaz. w James Diaz & Nate DeMarcus vs The Boys from the Yukon (with Lisa Bowen) Wrestling takes a back seat in favor of storytelling and crowd interaction in this match, with the Canadian duo always on the lookout for a sneak attack by the Good Ol' Boys and James interrupting the flow of his offense to shout out stuff about him being good enough on his own and not needing Logan's help. DeMarcus is the only one who's focused on the in-ring action with a stellar performance that proves he deserves more than the limited screen time he's getting, though eventually he falls victim to his opponents' experience teaming together and their tag finisher, Tiiiiiiiiiiimber! Winners:The Boys from the Yukon, by pinfall Vinny Cruz is backstage with a mic in hand and a smug smile on his face. Behind him, the Good Ol' Boys glare menacingly at the camera while carrying their COTT World Tag Team titles on their shoulders. Cruz hypes his clients as last year's Sam Keith Classic winners and reigning COTT World Tag Team champions, then calls out CZCW's Mobstar and Frantic Ali, saying they cost his boys this year's tournament. For that, they want revenge. And to get it, they're willing to put their titles on the line. Next month, at War for Territory #33, Ali and Mobstar versus Langton and Fitzpaine, CZCW versus Piledriver Wrestling, for the COTT World Tag Team titles! With his ever-present reflecting red sunglasses and the Piledriver Championship title around his waist, Cali Slick made his way to the ring and cut a scathing shoot promo on Masked Patriot, calling him a hypocrite and a "Rhode Island flop, trying to cash in that past in the indy circuit". Fans were red hot in genuine rage at the California native, who went on to shoot from the hip and trash talk the audience too, before giving them the crotch chop and walking away in a hailstorm of boos. Robbie Wright made his entrance next, preparing to compete in the main event. Before his opponent though, Xavi Ferrera came down to the ringside area to join the announcing team, apparently scouting his future opponent. Wright did not look happy about it at all and even appeared somewhat distracted too. Robbie Wright vs "Class Act" Syd Collier Wright was off to a hot start, his fast and flashy style allowing him to get the jump on Collier and make the fans come alive. Ferrera was content to talk trash about his future opponent but did not interfere, although his presence alone was enough to distract Wright, who seemed to always be wary for a potential backstab. This in turn created an opening for Collier to exploit and the MAW veteran seized control of the match to slow things down. Taking Wright to the mat, Collier took away his offense and played to his strengths, firing up fans with his oldschool traditionalist antics and masterful ring psychology. Wright sold the whole thing, even limping and staggering once he was back on his feet to muster whatever strength he had left in him for one last big push leading up to his Wright Move [Gutwrench Powerbomb] finisher that kept Collier down for the count. The show ended with the ref raising Wright's arm and the winner staring down at Ferrera. Winner: Robbie Wright, by pinfall Show Rating:
  12. Real happy about the added options when talking to a worker, can't say the same about Fog of War. For me it's always been a double-edged sword, I liked the element of uncertainty, surprise and development as a player but kinda hated it as a diary writer since I couldn't quite narrate a worker's style in a match and had to take a look under the hood (a.k.a. editor). I understand how FOW can mess up the new "search & compare" options, but if there's a chance of any middle ground, I'll happily take it. To elaborate on that, if the code can handle it, I think Adam could make it an option that can be turned on and off and adjust the search results accordingly. In TEW16, having FOW off means you get owner goals like "Don't hire anyone with an X stat of below this margin" which you don't get if FOW is on. Likewise, searching for a worker with, say, "Decent Chain Wrestling skills" might prevent someone from appearing on the results just because of the fog (I believe). In the same vein, FOW could be kept as an optional feature but with the added risk of missing out on some folks when doing searches.

  14. Regarding today's contract update, I'm guessing it refers to written contracts, as I distinctly remember PPA will be changed to a "handshake deal" of indefinite duration, right? Just making sure I'm reading this right.
  15. I love those little nods to the videogames, cartoons and general pop culture of my (our?) childhood. Speaking of which, Storm Spillane is bald. Why not go all the way and give him a Destro re-do, with Malloy under a Cobra Commander mask?
  16. I do a similar thing when playing Japanese promotions, adding YL before the name of any young lion
  17. Ditto on the tags, it should help tell the people who are willing to do these matches. You know, like, BEFORE hiring them and then have them refuse to do a match. Thing about deathmatches is they got both injury and content risk high, so you need people who are not only liberal (content) but also bold and not carrying a lot of wear and tear (injury).
  18. As someone who enjoys playing hardcore promotions, this would be amazing. Can't keep spamming barb wire deathmatches across the card and it's crazy how some match types like Last Man Standing, I Quit etc are lighter on content than most "diva" matches. I'll usually make my custom match types with a bumped up content risk, but it gets real tiring real fast and feels like I'm gaming the system. My suggestion would be to replace those with a booker note or a slider next to intensity/danger that would affect how "extreme" you want the match to be booked in terms of spots. I mean, you can have a bloody, gruesome gorefest of a match with just no dq/countout rules.
  19. Came to check this out after the DotM results, gotta say I'm loving the new look and achievements! Updated my earlier post with where I'm at too. Cheers!
  20. The Sam Keith Classic X The Sam Keith Classic X Friday, Week 4 July, 2020 Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC Shown live on The Carolinas Network The show begins with a message from Robbie Wright, welcoming fans in attendance and viewers at home to Piledriver Wrestling’s first ever televised event. He is interrupted by “The Athlete” Xavi Ferrera, who wants the spotlight for himself as he claims he should be the one to welcome people, as he’s a two time champion and a member of the roster since day one. Wright says that’s the past and no one knew Ferrera or Piledriver back then; this is the future and he’s the one best suited to play host, implying his fame, exposure and TV experience while working for SWF. At a stalemate, the two men turn to the crowd for a vocal on-the-fly voting, with Wright masterfully working the fans while Ferrera does seem to get a little lost, eventually forced to retreat but not before he promises to destroy Wright in this very ring after the Sam Keith Classic tag team tournament. Sam Keith Classic X Quarterfinals match Eric Blackley & Leftie Wilkes (4C) vs The Ring Generals (Independent) Winners of the tournament two years ago representing NYCW, Marv Statler and Dean Waldorf return as one of the hottest teams in the United States to not be regularly employed by any single promotion, looking to repeat their 2018 feat and hopefully get back on track. Blackley and Wilkes are the exact opposite of the Ring Generals’ performance, showing a lot of mistrust and bad communication before a fed up Blackley outright abandons the match, returning to the locker room as Wilkes gets hit with a Wheelbarrow Bomb that ends the match abruptly at just six minutes. Winners: The Ring Generals, by pinfall Sam Keith Classic X Quarterfinals match Blue Mítico (OLLIE) vs Ernest Youngman & Shady K (NYCW) This year NYCW is represented by “The Assassin of the Squared Circle” Ernest Youngman and one half of SWF’s Death Row in Shady K. Their opponents already have prior experience in this tournament and it shows, the two luchadors getting a good cheer from the crowd and putting up a great performance. Sadly, their honourable ways are not shared by their opponents and with the big man Shady K bullying the ref to block his line of sight, Youngman goes low to take out El Mítico Jr and ensure his team advances to the semifinals. Winners: Ernest Youngman & Shady K, by pinfall by using underhanded tactics Sam Keith Classic X Quarterfinals match w The Southern Stars (Independent) vs The Boys from the Yukon (Piledriver) Much like the Ring Generals earlier, the Southern Stars are a former NYCW tag team who are no longer linked to any specific promotion. This match is proof that cutting them was a bad move, because Animal Harker and Tennessee William look like they were tailor made to be teammates. Aside from a mocking “J Lee Willams” chant, the match goes down well with the crowd and then… ...the Good Ol’ Boys come out running to pull Whitehores Whittaker off the apron for a devastating Iowa Harvest onto the ringside floor. Since Whittaker wasn’t the legal man, the attack doesn’t result in an outright DQ, especially since seconds later Howlin’ Mad Mort gets hit with a Texas Meat-Grinder for the pin from Harker. Winners: The Southern Stars, by pinfall Sam Keith Classic X Quarterfinals match w Frantic Ali & Mobstar (CZCW) vs The Good Ol' Boys (Piledriver) Following the previous match, the Good Ol’ Boys stick around for their own, not only having cost the Boys from the Yukon a spot in the next phase but also having taken them out to ensure that they won’t be attacked during this match either. Their opponents are two hard hitting West Coast brawlers who began in competing promotions (Ali in IPW, Mobstar in GSW) before Ali jumped ship to Brother Grimm’s promotion and after it closed shop, the two men joined CZCW. This toughness they’ve both developed after years in a hardcore environment is just what they need to compete against the big rednecks from Iowa. Ali and Mobstar can be more than just two hardcore guys swinging weapons however and their potent mix of sheer physicality and brutal wrestling carries them to a big victory as they eliminate the host promotion’s final participating team with a neck-breaking Death Valley Driver. Winners: Frantic Ali & Mobstar, by pinfall Cali Slick cuts a scathing promotion on Masked Patriot next, saying he pretends to be a hero when he actually stands for everything that’s wrong with America. Not long after, Masked Patriot in the flesh shows up and tells Slick the only thing wrong here is him holding the championship, as the way he won the title shows he lacks the integrity of a true champion. Slick says he’ll shut Patriot’s big mouth for good, Patriot says he’ll restore honour to that belt and the two of them shake hands, promising to settle this in the ring. Sam Keith Classic X Semifinals match The Southern Stars (Independent) vs The Ring Generals (Independent) Two teams familiar with each other since their days in New York. Two teams no longer employed by NYCW, or any other major promotion. Two teams out to prove they’re still worth a chance, though only one can advance to do it and that means they’ll have to go through the other. It’s a hard fought battle, the Generals’ experience clashing with the Stars’ chemistry as they wrestle back and forth in a classic tag team contest until Tennessee William manages to roll through a Wheelbarrow Bomb and reverse it into a surprise cradle for a shocking pin over Waldorf, sending him and Harker to the finals of the tournament! Winners: The Southern Stars, by pinfall with a surprise cradle Sam Keith Classic X Semifinals match Ernest Youngman & Shady K (NYCW) vs Frantic Ali & Mobstar (CZCW) The second semifinal is a proper West Coast War as Shady K takes the reins to deliver a hood street fight against Ali and Mobstar. Youngman’s amateur wrestling approach initially feels at odds with everyone else’s style but he quickly adapts, showing both heart and grit in this brutal match. If the Southern Stars versus the Ring Generals was a classic oldschool tag team match, this one’s the exact opposite, a chaotic hardcore brawl that brings variety, intensity and “realism” to the show but also pushes the limits of Piledriver Wrestling’s fresh broadcast deal before Shady K hits his K Killer finisher to wrap it up. Winners: Ernest Youngman & Shady K, by pinfall Julius Moor is interviewed backstage, saying he’s excited to join the fastest growing promotion in the U.S. today. When asked about who he’d like to face next, Moor says he’s got his sights set on big bad Carl Bernard, hoping the matchmakers will grant him a chance to face the Killer. Piledriver Women’s title match “American Woman” Lora Washington vs “The Franchise” Brooke Tyler The night’s only title match, only singles match, only women’s match and only match to be held outside the Sam Keith Classic tournament, this one really steals the show as two magnificent competitors go at it for nearly fifteen minutes without holding back. Tyler is hellbent on getting the champion to tap out to the Brooke Breaker, while Washington initially fights out of it and then later struggles to withstand it. This motif is repeated throughout the match, with Tyler skipping any pinfall attempts, instead looking like she’s obsessed on getting Washington to submit. Her fire ends up costing her both the match and title though as she gets caught up in the moment and never heeds referee Alvin Lavin’s words once Washington’s made it to the ropes, forcing the official to throw the match and disqualify her. Winner: “American Woman” Lora Washington, by disqualification “American Woman” Lora Washington makes defence number 6 of her Piledriver Womens title Backstage, the Diaz cousins are in the middle of an argument regarding the botched interference of James during the main event of War for Territory #31. James says he’s sorry and that he was only trying to help, but Logan snaps at him, saying he never did ask for his help in the first place, nor did he need it. James is clearly angry at that, his fists almost going white but although he’s the bigger of the two, he simply snorts and walks out of the scene. Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Final The Southern Stars (Independent) vs Ernest Youngman & Shady K (NYCW) Probably a surprise pair for this year’s tournament finals, the main event feels more like a clash of generations between NYCW’s talent rather than a Piledriver Wrestling main event; then again, it’s a great opportunity to use the promotion’s new broadcasting deal to showcase not just Piledriver Wrestling but the roster depth and variety that comes with the company being a member of the COTT alliance. As for the match itself, it’s a classic that would have made Sam Keith and Rip Chord proud, an oldschool but very physical contest by the numbers: frequent tags, double team moves, cutting the ring in half and a rock solid referee that keeps the one on one setup as much as possible, preventing the main event from collapsing into a free for all tornado tag match. Harker and Williams’ chemistry once again shines through in this one, a prime example that tag teams can and should be more than just the sum of their individual parts. Using this flow between them, they manage to balance out Shady K’s size and power advantage, then Youngman’s technical excellence to finally hit him with another Texas Meat-Grinder and score the big pin to become this year’s tournament winners. Winners: The Southern Stars,by pinfall Show Rating:

An event worthy of its name, with two potential shots to be earned tonight and headlined by the WINNOW Grand Champion, Chitose Ariwara, defending the top prize of the company against the big bad Connie Morris! Yuko Okui: Morris holds a pinfall over the champion, but that was in a tag match when Hostile Intent were the WINNOW Duet champions. Since losing the titles to Hunter-Killers, the tension between Morris and Young has been escalating and part of it may have to do with tonight's main event, as Deborah Young claims it is what has been distracting Morris ever since. Hiranuma Makoto: There's a lot to enjoy until that match goes down though and we're ready to start with the return of a surprisely successful pairing in Jaguar Endo and young lion Emiko Miyoshi, now going by the name of Team ENDOrphine! Team Endorphine vs Zofia Jankovic & Laura Flame After showcasing an intrinsic understanding of each other at Neon Genesis Evolution 6, Jaguar Endo and Emiko Miyoshi teamed up again for the opening match of this show against the gaijin duo of "The Black Widow" Zofia Jankovic and "Red Hot" Laura Flame. Communication was key here, as Team Endorphine's chemistry was a stark contrast to the language barrier between the Belarusian and Americanmartial artists. Miyoshi showed some fire before getting bested by her opponents until a misunderstanding allowed her to escape and tag in her partner, with Endo cleaning house before hitting the rookie Flame with her finisher for the win. Winners: Team Endorphine Finish: Northern Lights Suplex BATTLE BEASTS vs Rika Tsujimura & Claire Winters A similar story in the following match, as the established team took on a pair of hard hitters who had issues when it came to verbal communication. Not quite as good as the opener due to the lack of a veteran to hold the match together, this was further dragged down by the sloppiness of both BATTLE Takenouchi and BEAST Kaori but lucky for them, Kaori's sheer physical dominance was enough to secure a victory. Winners: BATTLE BEASTS Finish: Sit-Out Powerbomb A pre-recorder promo from Hunter-Killers rolled next, with the newly crowned WINNOW Duet champions hyping up the promotion's blossoming tag team division and themselves as its leaders at the forefront. Joanne Rodriguez, Karen Bilous & Thea Davis vs Ginko Kuroda, Romi Yamato & Sakura Sada Western audiences may be unfamiliar with Japan's concept of undercard multi-person matches, but it's show stealing bouts like this that prove why such bookings are no throwaway. All six competitors gave everything they had in this match, an exciting, fast paced and open ended competition with plenty of action from bell to bell. Sada brought the high flying, Yamato brought the strikes and Kuroda had the technical skills to make their team extremely well rounded. Their opponents had the same result but with a different approach, as all three members were solid all-rounders on their own. Bilous got a modicum of revenge when she put Kuroda in the Butterfly Lift-Lock and for a moment it looked like she had the match won, before she got hit by a double team move as Yamato swept her legs while Sada came flying with a reckless missile kick to her head. Despite regaining control of the match, Kuroda just wasn't the same after that spot and the experienced Rodriguez took note, exploiting the crack in her armor to connect with a J-Rocker and score a big win to punch herself a ticket for a future Rising Champion title match. Winners: Joanne Rodriguez, Karen Bilous & Thea Davis Finish: J-Rocker [Front Facelock Face Crusher] As if to drive the point further home, J-Ro grabbed a mic after the match and openly challenged Kuroda to a title match, with the defeated champion looking at her full of a burning desire to retaliate for her loss tonight. Eri Sato & FURY Takasu vs Rei Chikanatsu & Mystery Pink Chikanatsu and Pink are the only two people on WINNOW's roster to wear masks, but that and their high flying style is where similarities end. Their timing was all over the place in this match and the visual connection didn't also translate into a good in-ring team, unlike their hard hitting opponents who really brought the fight with supremely stiff strikes and slams, allowing Sato to rock Mystery Pink with the Sato Tornado [spinning Kick at a cornered opponent] before tagging in her maniac partner, who proceeded to maul the fallen luchadora with wild crazy blows. Chikanatsu did her best but miscommunication cost her dear as Pink never joined into her Blue Surprise finisher. Instead, Sato rolled through to reverse the pin and get an upset victory over the WINNOW Pure Heart champion, earning herself a future shot at Chikanatsu's title at the same time. Winner: Eri Sato & FURY Takasu Finish: Roll Up Connie Morris made her entrance next to get the main event underway, but halfway on her way to the ring, she was attacked from behind by "Dangerous" Deborah Young! Her former tag team partner delivered a beatdown as tension finally reached a boiling point and Hostile Intent imploded for good. Young lions on ringside security duty stormed in but were thrown around like rag dolls by the two massive women until Young was satisfied with her handiwork and made her way back to the locker room, leaving chaos behind her. WINNOW Grand Champion title match Chitose Ariwara © vs Connie Morris Shaken by the pre-match attack, Morris was caught off guard by the speedy, agile champion who got the match off to an exciting start until Morris caught her with a desperate yet decapitating lariat to counter a charge and put the breaks. From there, the Misouri Mauler proceeded to beat down Ariwara with a combination of strikes and impressive slams that showcased her strength. Unfortunately for her though, Ariwara perservered and the lingering effects of Young's prior attack caught up with her as the champion reversed a slam into a surprise Tornado DDT to start her big comeback with a combination of flashy moves leading up to a Victory Roll that required all the strength and heart she could muster. Winner: Chitose Ariwara (Defenses: 2) Finish: Victory Roll After a hard fought battle, Ariwara got on the mic and cut a promo to wrap up the show, thank the fans and send them home happy. We wish him the best of luck in his new adventure.</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> On one hand, I was glad for the man, even if I was shamelessly using his own success to promote our dojo. On the other hand, I was hoping the Eisens would do what they did best, which is burn up talent and then dump them on the roadside for ambitious smaller promoters (such as myself) to pick up. What a story that would be, Ant-Man going full circle and coming back home to Piledriver Wrestling to restart his career. Oh well, a man can dream. For now, I had more pressing matters to attend to.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46150" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Piledriver Wrestling proudly presents:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="hBbYX3c.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hBbYX3c.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">The Sam Keith Classic X</span></strong></p><p><strong> The biggest annual tag team tournament in the United States pro wrestling scene!</strong></p><p> Featuring representatives from every member of the Confederation of the Territories as well as major independent names.</p><p> <img alt="dvv3c67.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dvv3c67.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">The Sam Keith Classic X</span></strong></p><p><strong> Friday, Week 4 July, 2020</strong></p><p><strong> Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><em>Shown live on The Carolinas Network</em></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Main Event</strong></p><p> Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Final</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Co-Main Event</strong></p><p><strong> Piledriver Women's title match</strong></p><p> "American Woman" Lora Washington © vs "The Franchise" Brooke Tyler</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Semifinal A</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Semifinal B</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Quarterfinal A</strong></p><p> Frantic Ali & Mobstar (CZCW) vs The Good Ol' Boys (Piledriver)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Semifinal B</strong></p><p> The Southern Stars (Independent) vs The Boys from the Yukon (Piledriver)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Semifinal C</strong></p><p> Blue Mítico (OLLIE) vs Ernest Youngman & Shady K (NYCW)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sam Keith Classic X Tournament Semifinal D</strong></p><p> Eric Blackley & Leftie Wilkes (4C) vs The Ring Generals (Independent)</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>
