The presence of the popular joshi competitor alone was enough to get the sold out audience going and indeed the match served to showcase her deadly abilities, including the way she took out the much bigger but less experienced BEAST Kaori, though the finish of the match belonged to Yamato who nailed BATTLE Takenouchi with her spectacular Yamatotal for the pin.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Dragon Assassin & Romi Yamato</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Yamatotal [Cross-arm Bridging German Suplex]</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="Xc4Zgz2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Xc4Zgz2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="qIYQtpx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qIYQtpx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GtoYkcW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GtoYkcW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="L9u3KhK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/L9u3KhK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="KeUcc8t.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KeUcc8t.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8sEkkAa.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8sEkkAa.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca & Pinky Perez vs FURY Takasu, Sakura Sada & Eri Sato</strong></p><p> As if mocking their opponents, Takasu, Sada and Sato carried the Campeanatos de Tríos GDR titles with them to the ring, a visual reminder of their success in Mexico. This was more than enough to fire up the GDR representatives and their flashy high flying moves earned them a fair amount of cheers from the audience, even if they were not so familiar with the three luchadoras. The WINNOW team employed classic heel tactics, slowing down the match with mat grappling and strikes as they ganged up to work over a single opponent, but the flow and athleticism of the three masked women was too much for them to keep up with and Estrella Blanca made her point when she hit FURY Takasu with a picture perfect Northern Lights Suplex for the finish.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Águila Azul Celeste, Estrella Blanca & Pinky Perez</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Northern Lights Suplex</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="0zz5IM2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0zz5IM2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="NVsHmIw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NVsHmIw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Meqzwhu.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Meqzwhu.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="RCvIapy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RCvIapy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QAaEoST.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QAaEoST.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="l9oAwcE.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/l9oAwcE.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Connie Morris, Joanne Rodriguez & Thea Davis vs Rei Chikanatsu, Jaguar Endo & Karen Bilous</strong></p><p> With teammate and fellow Duet tag champion Deborah Young booked to wrestle a singles match, Connie Morris teamed up with fellow gaijin J-Ro and Thea Davis against Chikanatsu, Endo and Bilous. Far from a throwaway undercard multi-woman match, the bout was pretty interesting from bell to bell and even set up Rodriguez as a future challenger for the WINNOW Pure Heart title after she ended it with a pinfall over the reigning champion.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Connie Morris, Joanne Rodriguez & Thea Davis</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: J-Rocker [Front Facelock twist into a Face Crusher]</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="Vqy378I.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Vqy378I.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> WINNOW Rising Champion title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="mSoHzQS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mSoHzQS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yAQaSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yAQaSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> “The Dragon’s Daughter” Ginko Kuroda vs “Dangerous” Deborah Young</strong></p><p> Young’s first big chance as a singles wrestler and it was a title match already, a testament to her potential. Though without partners to make up for her shortcomings, Young performed admirably and even managed to deny Kuroda from having another fast paced match. Adapting on the fly, the veteran Kuroda switched to a more traditional shoot style and relentlessly chased Young’s leg to take away her vertical base, before pressing her advantage to end up applying an Ankle Lock that got her the win.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Ginko Kuroda (Defenses: 2)</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Ankle Lock</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="GtkXUah.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GtkXUah.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="wgcZPFW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wgcZPFW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Huntress Makiko vs Ikuko Temko</strong></p><p> Clearly the reunion of Seek & Destroy didn’t go as planned and Temko’s lackluster performances were largely to blame, leading her partner to turn on her after an unsuccessful attempt to capture the WINNOW Duet titles. Though extremely familiar with each other’s style and moveset, the two competitors were clearly much better as teammates rather than opponents as their styles didn’t quite click with each other. Temko’s best moment was when she denied Makiko her trademark rolling german suplexes through brute power, but the Huntress was quick to adapt and moments later had Temko tapping out to her Makiko Clutch. After the match, the two women bowed to each other as a show of respect while fans cheered them both for their effort, essentially sealing the amicable breakup of Seek & Destroy in WINNOW without tarnishing the team’s storied legacy.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Huntress Makiko</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Makiko Clutch [straightjacket Camel Clutch]</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="w7nP9VI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/w7nP9VI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> WINNOW Grand Champion title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="zPaHPzb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zPaHPzb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hsi4Dbf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hsi4Dbf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Chitose Ariwara vs Lioness Mushashibo</strong></p><p> A match set up at Slam Fest when Mushashibo pinned Ariwara in a tag team match, this one felt like a passing of the torch as much as it felt like a celebration of high flying wrestling maneuvers. The innovator of top rope moves in joshi wrestling went toe to toe with the promotion’s champion and top high flyer in a spectacular bout that wowed the fans with all kinds of flashy moves. Despite her 46 years of age, Mushashibo outlasted the young champion, who seemed to be gasping for air by the final minutes of the match, but this was also her downfall as it made her careless and overconfident, allowing Ariwara to surprise her challenger with a Victory Roll and get the pin.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Chitose Ariwara (Defenses: 1)</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Victory Roll</strong></p><p> <img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="zPaHPzb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zPaHPzb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="hsi4Dbf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hsi4Dbf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="RxEndGj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RxEndGj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Again, Ariwara bowed to her opponent before leaving the ring as Crusher Ichihara marched down with a bouquet of flowers and fans showered them all with streamers. It was a sentimental moment and Mushashibo, who has already announced her retirement from active competition, looked like she was legitimately moved, hugging Ichihara and bowing towards all four sides of the ring as she thanked fans for their support throughout her entire career.</p><p> <img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p> <img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></p></div><p></p><p></p>
  2. Diaz Cousins summoning their inner Briscoes is best for business. I will forever visualize and hear their heel promos as if delivered by dem boys.
  3. <p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>"It's okay, big man... Yeah, no hard feelings, I'd do the same if I were you... Go seize your destiny, or whatever... Sure thing, bye"</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> I hung up and sighed. For the second time, Primus Allen had escaped me. When RIPW first cut him, Vessey moved in to offer him a job before I did. NYCW was bigger at the time, so between our mission statement and out COTT courtesy, I backed down. Now Vessey was laying off people to cut losses and Primus was one of them. This time I had inside info and moved fast, but my bid was shot down by a lucrative offer from USPW. Of course Allen would head there. Any sane person would.</p><p> </p><p> I turned to my laptop and pulled up the news page on <a href="http://www.totalextremewrestling.com" rel="external nofollow">http://www.totalextremewrestling.com</a> to see the list of people released from NYCW. As I was waiting for Vessey to throw in the towel and sell the company to us, I could at least bring in a first wave of talent he'd let go. Only this time, the front page had an extra news article added since the last time I checked.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><div style="padding: 15px; border: 3px solid #000000; margin:10px;background: #F5F5F5; max-width:50%;box-shadow: 0 6px 12px ";"></p><img alt="Mafo9fj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Mafo9fj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>"VESSEY BIDS THE INDUSTRY FAREWELL"</strong></span></p><p> <em>"61 year old Larry Vessey, owner of New York Championship Wrestling, announced he will be retiring from the business alltogether by the end of summer. Known mainly for his tag team alongside brother Bryan across a multitude of promotions around the globe (TWL, SWF, CGC, TCW, PGHW among them) the veteran wrapped up his career in the Tri State promotion, which he also took over after former owner The Stomper retired in 2010. Vessey has yet to name his successor, though it is no secret his company is in dire financial straights due to the pressure from both SWF-backed Rhode Island Pro Wrestling as well as the expanding COTT ally, Piledriver Wrestling."</em></div></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Well, I guess he wasn't kidding at that meeting after all. On one hand, I was happy for him. He'd get to call it quits while still on top and finally get some rest from having to struggle with a failing promotion. On the other hand, I could only hope whoever took over after him wasn't going to pour in a ton of money like Sam [Keith] and Peter [Michaels] did with us. As bad as it sounded if I said it out loud, I needed NYCW to fold just so I could step in and buy them out as part of our expansion.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46150" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">Piledriver Wrestling presents:</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Fatal Force 2020</span></strong></p><p><strong> Saturday, Week 4 May, 2020</strong></p><p><strong> Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Main Event</strong></p><p><strong> Piledriver Championship title match</strong></p><p> Logan Diaz © vs Cali Slick</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Semi Main Event</strong></p><p><strong> Piledriver United States title match</strong></p><p> Jebediah © vs Buck Winchester</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Piledriver Tag Team titles match</strong></p><p> The Good Ol' Boys © vs Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Special Tag Team match</strong></p><p> Masked Patriot & James Diaz vs Reaper & Xavi Ferrera</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Opening 3 vs 3 Tag match</strong></p><p> Lora Washington, Miss Atlantic Wrestling & Claire Winters vs Sawyer Sports Services (Bitch, Trigg & Svelte)</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>

Veterans McManus and Collier hold the match together as their young peers do their part for an exciting start, yet it's the Mid Atlantic Express who get eliminated first when The Architect puts Garner in a Boston Crab only to get knocked out by stereo superkicks, courtesy of the Heartbreak Express who also score the pin. Collier throws a bit of a tantrum, but eventually returns backstage, with The Architect stumbling behind him as the match continues. It's very much a power game from that point on and Needham is the one caught in the middle, the small man ending up on the business end of a Canadian Backbreaker from Garner for the second elimination. McManus takes the lead from there and after a beautiful technical exchange with DeMarcus, lures in the rookie Diaz who misses with a spear to end up tackling the ring post, before McManus tops that with a Slingshot Suplex and the tag to Garner for the Canadian Backbreaker and pin, sending the master and apprentice pairing to face the Good Ol' Boys for the Piledriver Tag Team titles.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: McManus & Garner</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="12RJue4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/12RJue4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="uN4bdE9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uN4bdE9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Cali Slick and Xavi Ferrera cut their own promo next, responding to Diaz and Patriot earlier and hyping up their match. Given the history between both the teams and their managers, this was a pretty personal fight, titles on the line or not. On top of that, a track record of chaos and mayhem led to what essentially was free-for-all rules, setting both challengers and competitors loose for what turned out to be a truly wild brawl. Harkening back to their days with PSW, the Good Ol' Boys took the match to the ringside area and even between the fans; the Boys from the Yukon are no strangers to hard hitting bouts but the unorthodox, unpredictable nature of the match was a bit too much for them and Howlin' Mad Mort ended up getting his head curb stomped through a cinder block for a crazy spot that had fans chanting "Holy Sh*t!". Whittaker returned the favor not long after, hitting Fitzpaine with a shoulder tackle that drove him through a sheet of glass that had been laying near the entrance, only to turn around and get smashed in the head with a steel chair by Langton who had just taken a dive off the top turnbuckle. The frantic pace of the match came to a halt as all four men struggled to get back on their feet, with Cruz and Bowen trying to rally the troops. 10. <p>Once again, I could feel the disgusting sensation of sweat caught between my skin and the rubber of my mask. The weather was barely starting to get warm, but the temperature was not to blame. It was the tension in the air. You could cut it with a scimitar.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="bTg9gTY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bTg9gTY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> COTT meetings were not a common thing. Most of the arrangements were made through the phone, or on some clunky videocall when Troy Winner got more stubborn than a mule about it. Unless it involved welcoming a new member to the alliance, meetings in person were rarely a good thing. And this one was no exception.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="UbGr8w9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UbGr8w9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>"So what's this all about?"</strong> Chess Maniac broke the ice. Of all the people present, he was the only one still in his thirty somethings. He was also the one least familiar with these meetings, as he'd only taken the helm of OLLIE last June after Joaquin Soler called it quits and retired from the business.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="LkCNuYW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LkCNuYW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>"Cherry told me she's stepping down. I need to find a new booker"</strong> Cathrine Quine replied, her tone suggesting she wasn't fully comfortable yet. Even like this, at 47 years of age, she was a beautiful woman. She also knew that beauty is fleeting, so she'd complemented that with more than looks and wrestling skill. From figurehead to booker, colour commentator and now owner of AAA, she had a track record that suggested she may be a superhero.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>"Is that it? Well, book things yourself! It's what I've been doing!"</strong> Chess Maniac snapped. Though his face was concealed by his chequered mask, I could tell he was smiling at himself underneath, as if he'd instantly solved a riddle that puzzled everyone else for hours. I could tell why the man had a reputation alongside a long list of enemies, including CILL's Maestro and EMLL's Bandido, the latter of which he still somehow worked for.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="s4JsDVp.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/s4JsDVp.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>"Calm down, amigo. We wouldn't be having this meeting if this was the only issue."</strong> CZCW's Cliff Anderson played the voice of reason. He had the luxury to do so. He'd won the West Coast Wars.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Mafo9fj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Mafo9fj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong>"I'm about to fold"</strong> Vessey addressed the elephant in the room in a matter-of-fact tone. Yeah, Winner was nothing like that.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>"Forget it. And just like a bolt of lightning, it instantly evaporated whatever negative emotions I was feeling towards Larry.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">"THAT'S IT!"</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Everyone turned around towards me in confusion. Fans cheer and give her a warm "welcome back" chant so of course she's their chosen champion in this match against the arrogant Tyler. The match tells an interesting story, not only between former and wannabe champion but also of two women with very similar styles and a wide array of backbreaker variations in their arsenal. This adds drama and a certain intensity to the match, especially in moments where either competitor counters the other's attempt at a backbreaker. It's an epic clash that takes well over 15 minutes, but in the end it's Tyler who's able to lock Quinzel in her Brooke Breaker finisher. Quinzel fights through excruciating pain and exhaustion but she has no option and soon admits defeat by tapping out.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Brooke Tyler, by submission</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="gG04bRj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gG04bRj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="h9A0Crp.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h9A0Crp.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Not really bothering with celebrations, Tyler immediately gets on the mic and repeats her challenge, demanding a match for the Piledriver Womens' title. Not long after, the speakers come alive with"American Woman" and Lora Washington appears on the entrance to admit that Tyler's made her point. She doesn't want anyone to think she's avoiding the fight so she will put the title on the line against Tyler whenever the matchmakers of Piledriver Wrestling arrange it for.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> I Quit match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="12RJue4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/12RJue4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GIRKb76.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GIRKb76.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QVmhIyi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QVmhIyi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Cali Slic vs Frantic Ali</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Former IPW and GSW star Frantic Ali showed up for this match, revisiting his SoCal wars with Cali Slick. An I Quit match was as far as Piledriver Wrestling was willing to go with stipulations but both men made the most of it by starting a wild brawl that spread like, well, wildifre well outside the ring and into the crowd in attendance. It was different to what Piledriver fans are used to seeing but no less exciting, the executing really making this feel like a legit street fight between two West Coast gangstas. Though pretty even, the turning point in the match came when Slick hit his Slick-Back chokeslam to send Ali crashing through a speaker that shattered into bits, taking a heavy toll on the man who Slick then put into a torture rack, shoving the mic in his face for the surrender to be heard throughout the Centerpiece Bridge.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cali Slick</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Slick's music cut off abruptly and the lights went out as an unfamiliar voice was heard on the speakers. As expected, Reaper was in controll for most of the match, using his immense size and power to beat down Patriot. Even if he would survive, there was no way Patriot could pick him up for the Patriot Slam, which is probably why the all american took a page of Slick and Ali's book when he rolled out of the ring to use the environment in order to do some damage to his opponent. Patriot dodged a charging avalanche to send Reaper onto the barricade and then made his comeback, taking great care to avoid a disqualification. The two ended up fighting on the ring apron and Patriot held onto the ropes to hit Reaper with an enzuguiri that sent him crashing down to the floor. Himself exhausted, he simply collapsed on the mat and rolled back in but Reaper never made it back in time, resulting in a countout loss for the menacing monster.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Masked Patriot, by countout</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p> <img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46150" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>Author's note:</strong> War for Territory shows will henceforth be posted as above, with no prior announcement of the match card</div></blockquote>
  12. I'm not thrilled with the idea of a boost due to pre-booking beyond the attendance boost due to star power mentioned in a previous announcement, but I'm glad its optional. Once again, great to see Adam listening to the community.

After picking up a few wins, they finally made their move at Strive to Survive, issuing a challenge to Hostile Intent. Makiko was the difference maker in this bout, her precision grappling adding variety as well as wearing down her big brawling opponents, though having Temko on her side to dish out equal punishment with strikes certainly helped. Despite her relative inexperience, Deborah Young held up pretty good in this bout and showed her opponents how wrong they were to underestimate her, especially in the finish where she knocked Makiko off the apron to tag in her partner, who in turn hit the worn out and alone Temko with a Missouri Plough, successfuly keeping the gold around the waists of Hostile Intent. After the match, Makiko seemed very disappointed with her partner, who visibly had her mind someplace else throughout the fight and their argument almost came to blows, but the young lions at ringside were quick to get in the way and break it up.</p><p> <strong>Winners and STILL WINNOW Duet champions: Hostile Intent (Defences: 1)</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Missouri Plough [Running Samoan Drop]</strong></p><p> <img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="hsi4Dbf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hsi4Dbf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="QAaEoST.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QAaEoST.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="zPaHPzb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zPaHPzb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="RCvIapy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RCvIapy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Queens of the Jungle vs Chitose Ariwara & Rei Chikanatsu</strong></p><p> Both title holders and both likeable high flyers with bubblegum personalities, Ariwara and Chikanatsu teamed up for a match against Queens of the Jungle, the team of Lioness Mushashibo and Jaguar Endo. It was interesting to see the two teams working together, especially Mushashibo's high flying complementing Endo's vicious strikes, a combination that had them on the attacking side for most of the match. Ariwara and Chikanatsu had their moments, made their comebacks but just couldn't keep things rolling for them long enough to claim victory and eventually Mushashibo hit her finisher on Ariwara for the pin, scoring not only a major victory but also earning her the right to challenge the champion for the WINNOW Grand Champion title.</p><p> <strong>Winners : Queens of the Jungle</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Sky Twister Press [Top Rope Corkscrew Dive]</strong></p><p> <img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="NVsHmIw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NVsHmIw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="rP9LuoR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rP9LuoR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Joanne Rodriguez vs Romi Yamato</strong></p><p> Announced and hyped during the latest installment of Neon Genesis Evolution, Joanne Rodriguez made an appearance to wrestle the marquee match against hot prospect Romi Yamato. Japanese fans are already familiar with the AAA star thanks to her work with 5SSW in the past so they gave her a warm welcome, unlike Yamato who acted disrespectfully. For her antics, Yamato got chopped to the corner to start the match, with Rodriguez topping it off with a superkick and a two count, an early warning sign for Yamato to take this very, very seriously. What followed was a jaw dropping match full of flashy moves, flips, rolls and dives that had the fans on their feet as the two women really drove home the point that for all the strong style and grappling, WINNOW is, at its heart, a promotion of fast paced, energetic, high flying action. Yamato went toe to toe with the veteran, never backing down and showing she can roll with the best of them, though she never managed to complete any attempts at her cross-arm bridging german suplex finisher, which she calls the Yamatotal. Instead, she fell victim to J-Ro's own, wrapping up the match at just under fifteen minutes with a win in her WINNOW debut.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Joanne Rodriguez</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: J-Rocker [Front Facelock Face Crusher]</strong></p><p> <img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="NVsHmIw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NVsHmIw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> After her win, Rodriguez got on the mic to thank the audience, her opponent as well as WINNOW and the Women's Wrestling Alliance for making this a reality, for allowing her to work in Japan once more. J-Ro said she's not here for just a few dates but has her eyes on November's Joshi Royalty Summit tournament, ending her promo on a high note and sending the fans home happy.</p><p> <img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p> <img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></p></div><p></p><p></p>

After Behr voiced her frustrations and J-Ro responded, they two met in the ring looking to prove which one’s the better wrestler and earn their future opportunities. Behr was hot off the gates and seized the initiative, using her athleticism to overwhelm her opponent and build up to a dropkick of amazing hang time that sent J-Ro bouncing off the ropes and into a rolling rana pin for a two count. Not to be outdone, Rodriguez showcased her own aerial skills in return, polished at the AAA Cat’s Lair dojo in Seattle and perfected all across Japan. The latter also left her with a vast array of hard strikes and she had a chance to use those too as she pummeled a kneeling Behr on the chest before topping it off with a decapitating roundhouse kick to her head, yet somehow Behr kicked out of that. Fans were on the edge of their seats by that point and the match felt like it could end at any moment, in favor of either competitor but it was Rodriguez who managed to connect with her J-Rocker finisher first and score the fall.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Joanne Rodriguez, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="CaTwuAY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CaTwuAY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> NGW Cruiserweight title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="h8WdOUv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h8WdOUv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="BJ5XbNO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/BJ5XbNO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Christopher Lister © vs “Mile High” Adam Matravers</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Long time friends, partners and even tag team champions together, Lister and Matravers were up against each other in this match with the NGW Cruiserweight title on the line, yet that didn’t stop them from shaking hands before the match, causing the fans to cheer at this display of sportsmanship. Both knowing each other inside out, the match may have been off to a fast paced start but every move was either dodged or reversed, leading to a stand off and a smile from the perpetually laid back Matravers. Lister went for the Kanobi Kutter but Matravers shoved him away before he could hit it and thus the real match began, with the two competitors throwing everything they had on each other. Matravers made several attempts to hit the Mile High Moonsault but Lister had done his homework and was quick to interrupt. After a long back and forth exchange, Lister was down and it finally looked like Matravers would be able to execute his finisher, but Lister had it scouted and got the knees up, before himself kipping up to catch the staggering challenger with a Kanobi Kutter for the win.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Christopher Lister, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong> Christopher Lister makes defence number 1 of his NGW Cruiserweight title</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="h8WdOUv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h8WdOUv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="BJ5XbNO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/BJ5XbNO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="KRd8pBF.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KRd8pBF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LFcPDbz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LFcPDbz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Regardless of outcome, Lister and Matravers hugged it out after the match, an emotional moment as Nelson Frye and Robert Howard joined them to congratulate both and raise their arms in the air for fans to cheer. The champ looked confident as ever, whereas Cornell looked focused and determined. This was his make or break moment, after all. His chance to prove he’s at least as good as his highly acclaimed cousin, Tommy. Stockier and stronger than his opponent, Cornell put that advantage to good use as he saught to manhandle the champion around but Lover’s unpredictable hybrid style allowed him to escape again and again, taunting Cornell in an attempt to get under his skin and infuriate him. Cornell fell for it and walked right into a Lover Stunner, but in his overconfidence, Champagne Lover didn’t hook the leg and the challenger kicked out before the count of three.</p><p> </p><p> Shooting for the ropes, Lover attempted to create some momentum for his lucha libre inspired aerial offense and though his moves had Cornell reeling, the Englishman shut him down with a huge spinebuster takedown. Cornell didn’t stop there however, showing great ring IQ as he kept Lover to the mat and worked him over with submissions, thus eliminating his mobile offense as well as doing some lasting damage even if he couldn’t get him to submit. Equally surprising was Champagne Lover’s response though, since he too packs a seriously underrated mat game and was able to turn the tables, coming on top before breaking things up with a close range knee to the head of Cornell. Both men collapsed on the mat for a breather and the referee began counting, but both were up by the time he reached the count of eight.</p><p> </p><p> Cornell created some separation through knife edged chops to the chest of his opponent, before executing an impressive cutter off the second rope, showcasing impressive agility for a Light Heavyweight such as himself but only getting a two count for his effort. Frustrated, he went for the Black Lightning Bomb but somehow Lover reversed that into a rana that sent big man Cornell onto the ref. Making the best of a distracted official, Cornell rushed out of the ring to grab the title belt off the timekeeper’s table, smashing Lover in the face with it and tossing it away before falling on top for the cover, finally getting a three count as fans booed him for his methods.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Edward Cornell, by pinfall after using a foreign object</strong></p><p><strong> Edward Cornell wins the NGW Heavyweight title</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="SoeMY3z.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SoeMY3z.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> With fans still booing, Cornell demanded he had his hand raised and the title handed to him, before grabbing a mic to speak his mind.</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46461" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Cornell: <strong>“Shut up, all of you… I have proven, beyond shadow of a doubt, that I’m the best wrestler on this damn roster… I am the Alpha Male of NGW… and every bit as good as ‘Rough Justice’ now that I hold the same title he held before me!”</strong></div></blockquote><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="hq0wF4D.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hq0wF4D.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> NGW Womens’ title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="yNQekBM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yNQekBM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="qwZB6cD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qwZB6cD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> “The Gothic Grappler” Fusae Etsuko © vs Geena the Warrior Princess</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Etsuko and Geena had a monumental task trying to outdo the men before them but somehow they managed to do just that, their long-standing rivalry having led up to this clash where both ladies sought a decisive win over each other. Though the match started off pretty slow, once Etsuko missed with her Darkness Falls finisher, Geena picked up the pace with a newfound level of intensity and aggression. After slamming Etsuko around, she tossed the champion out of the ring and kept on coming as she flew over the top rope with a suicidal Amazon Plunge to the outside that sent the fans into a frenzy. Champion and challenger slugged it out at ringside and almost got counted out before Geena realized what was happening and barely rolled back into the ring in time to break the count. Etsuko followed and Geena hit her with a charging headbutt, showing blatant disregard for her own well-being in her pursuit of victory but only managing a two count as Etsuko got a shoulder up before the referee’s count of three.</p><p> </p><p> Geena was shocked at the fighting spirit on display from the defending champion and looking to hit an even bigger move got careless, allowing Etsuko to dodge and take control of the match. Using every move on her arsenal, Etsuko fought back to regain all the lost ground, inch by bloody inch, pushing the match past the twenty minute mark before she finally connected with Darkness Falls and immediately slapping on the Lullaby, a combo that was simply too much for the Warrior Princess to take, forcing her to finally tap out and end the match.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Fusae Etsuko, by submission</strong></p><p><strong> Fusae Etsuko makes defence number 1 of her NGW Womens title</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="OMqWx1U.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OMqWx1U.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="NVsHmIw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NVsHmIw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yNQekBM.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yNQekBM.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> With Geena still reeling on the mat, Joanne Rodriguez made her way to the ring and got in the champions’ face. Two very big title matches tonight as "The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda defends her Rising Champion title against the vicious Jaguar Endo! Also, Rei Chikanatsu, who's been on a tear recently goes one on one with "The Pain From the Ukraine" Karen Bilous over the Pure Heart title! Yuko Okui: And neither of those huge matches is the main event, because that was saved for a champion versus champion match as the WINNOW Grand Champion, Chitose Ariwara, takes on the CWWF World Champion, Tamara McFly! Hiranuma Makoto: Also tonight, tag team action as the promising young team of BATTLE BEASTS goes to war with Seek & Destroy, the legendary duo of Huntress Makiko and Ikuko Temko, as well as the Duet champions teaming with Laura Flame to take on Lioness Mushashibo and her proteges, Romi Yamato and Nami Genda. Let's go straight to the ring for that! Connie Morris, Deborah Young & Laura Flame vs Lioness Mushashibo, Romi Yamato & Nami Genda Once gain, Mushashibo played general as she led her young lion proteges into war against their gaijin opponents. Yamato and Flame traded stiff blows before Young took over. Genda was tagged in, using her hit and run tactics to stay out of reach and disorient her opponent while also utilizing quick tags to Mushashibo for some high velocity moves. Young was rattled but not put out and a tag to Morris brought the veteran in to wrap things up with a big Missouri Plough onto Genda for the dominant pin. Winners: Connie Morris, Deborah Young & Laura Flame Finish: Missouri Plough [Running Samoan Drop] Seek & Destroy made their way to the ring for their match next, cutting off the WINNOW Duet champions on their way back to the locker room for an intense staredown, hinting at a potential clash between them very soon, probably with the titles on the line. Seek & Destroy vs BATTLE BEASTS BATTLE BEASTS may have failed to win tag team gold but they certainly impressed with their performance, leading to this high profile match against the veteran duo of Makiko and Temko. Big hard hitters BEAST Kaori and Ikuko Temko got the match started with some big moves, before Makiko took over for a stellar performance, almost single-handedly winning the match for her team and certainly providing some of the biggest moments in it, including the big finish of her forcing BATTLE Kaori to submit. Winners: Seek & Destroy Finish: Makiko Clutch [straightjacket Camel Clutch] WINNOW Rising Champion title match "The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda vs Jaguar Endo Kuroda's performances with WINNOW have been heralded by fans and media alike as redefining technical wrestling and this one was no exception: fast paced action and a smooth blending of submission holds, mat grappling, smooth transitions, intricate chain wrestling sequences and some devastating rolling suplexes, Kuroda really brought the fight to her challenger. That's not to say she dominated the match, far from it, as Endo is also known for her aggression, tenacity, hard strikes and never giving less than her 100% when competing. Fans were treated to an early candidate for match of the night, a true show stealer that eventually came down to stamina: Endo just couldn't keep up with the champion and paid for it by being on the working end of a Dragon Suplex that put her down for the count. Winner and STILL WINNOW Rising Champion: Ginko Kuroda (Defences: 1) Finish: Dragon Suplex Providing a much needed breather after that match, a video packaged aired to hype the night's main event. This also served to introduce Japanese fans to Tamara McFly, younger sister of the legendary Sean McFly, former NOTBPW Womens' champion, regular tourer with 5SSW (before they joined the Modern Japan Movement and gave up touring) and current Canadian Women's Wrestling Federation World champion. WINNOW Pure Heart title match "The Pain from the Ukraine" Karen Bilous vs Rei Chikanatsu Chikanatsu may have missed her chance to become the inaugural Grand Champion during WINNOW's first ever show, but she put in a great performance, one she followed up with victories over Seek & Destroy in a tag match alongside Chitose Ariwara and a big singles win against Connie Morris, all of which apparently made the matchmakers give her a shot at the Pure Heart title. Being the smallest wrestler on the roster, Chikanatsu had her work cut out for her against the ultra tough champion, making this the quintessential underdog match where the Japanese David went against the gaijin Goliath. Rei used her speed and agility to avoid Bilous and hit her with high flying moves but once the champion connected with a pump kick to put the breaks, it was all Bilous from there. Chikanatsu took a serious beating and was thrown around by a mean opponent, though arrogance cost Bilous the win as it allowed Chikanatsu to steal the match with a surprise cradle pin. Winner and NEW WINNOW Pure Heart champion: Rei Chikanatsu Finish: Surprise Cradle Chitose Ariwara vs Tamara McFly No title was on the line in the main event but having a clash of promotion champions was enough to fire up the crowd, many of which seemed to be familiar with McFly thanks to the reminder of her time with 5SSW. The two ladies began the match with a handshake, a show of respect as they circled the ring, sizing each other up. The initial blows led to a standoff, telling the tale of two equally skilled competitors, leading them to attempt bigger, more intricate moves. This was a classic slow burner of a match, constantly building up tension and drama for the big finale. Ariwara seemed a bit sloppy at times but besides losing control of the match once or twice, it didn't cost her much more and she was finally able to pick up the win, the two women once again on their feet and bowing to each other in a show of respect once the match was over. Winner: Chitose Ariwara Finish: Victory Roll As fans applauded both ladies for their effort, Crusher Ichihara herself made her way down to the ring to congratulate them. Streamers flew all over the place and Ichihara was handed a bouquet of flowers, which she proceeded to hand over to McFly, ending the show on a bittersweet note, since McFly has already announced her upcoming retirement from the ring. McManus may not have his opponent's track record, but he is no stranger to rough situations either. Fans are familiar with his technical skills but the Geogia native also has an underrated brawling game and a never say die attitude that carried him throughout the match, including a massive spot where he hit a modified version of his Slingshot Suplex while fighting Slick on the apron to send the Californian brawler back first onto the ring steps. This was no wild brawl across the venue but a well paced, hard hitting contest where both competitors shone. Slick sold the back injury from his earlier stunt consistently, including an attempt at his Slick-Back [Chokeslam] finisher that he couldn't complete when his back gave up on him while lifting McManus up. Riley did his best to retaliate and even managed to go for the Slingshot Suplex, but Slick rolled with the momentum to end up on top of a pinning predicament and in a moment of desperation, held onto the tights of his opponent to secure a victory.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cali Slick, by pinfall with a handful of tights.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="FHUEpiU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/FHUEpiU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GIRKb76.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GIRKb76.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="uN4bdE9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/uN4bdE9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Masked Patriot vs "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Though nowdays splitting his time between actve competitor and seconding Lora Washington or Miss Atlantic Wrestling, Masked Patriot is as skilled and dangerous as ever, a fact he proved in this match against one of the most athletic men on the roster. For all his dominance, even since he was under the wing of Scythe, Reaper never showed much interest in the Piledriver Championship, instead simply causing havoc and assisting Annihilus. His tactics didn't change much in this bout and the big man made the best of his freakish size and power to bully Diaz around. The champion attempted to drag his challenger into a technical grappling contest but Reaper wasn't having any of it. Whether breaking out through sheer power or simply being too big to move, he held his ground and kept pummeling the champion for the entire 15 or so minutes the main event lasted. Reaper got several warnings from the ref but he just wouldn't stop and eventually managed to get himself disqualified as he choked Diaz using the ropes and failed to release the hold before the referee's count of five.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Logan Diaz, by disqualification</strong></p><p> <img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="2FjO0qV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2FjO0qV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="MzjfHKV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MzjfHKV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="tfOP87H.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tfOP87H.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> Even after the bell, Reaper wasn't done breaking Diaz. Referee Alvin Lavin did his best to break them apart but got thrown away like a rag doll for his efforts. Fans expected James Diaz to come to the rescue, but it was actually Piledriver Wrestling's owner Lee Wright who did, apparently having enough of Reaper disrespecting the rules, officials and significance of the title match. The two men had an intese staredown and Wright even threatend to fire Reaper, though the big man simply smiled, well aware that right could never physically hurt him or fire one of the biggest draws on the roster. Instead, he looked back at the broken Diaz, smiled and made his way backstage, letting the fans cheer for Diaz as Lee Wright and Alvin Lavin helped him back to his feet.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p>
  20. Really liking the new update. I loved the past system where you'd have to pre-announce matches to sell tickets and PPV buys, though I understand it can get punishing, so having the option to turn it on or off is the best. Really looking forward to a system that will push me to think more in terms of long term booking and add a few more obstacles for the smaller feds to overcome (such as when a worker gets injured working for another promotion)
  21. <p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="RxEndGj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RxEndGj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> Crusher Ichihara pushed away the stacks of paperwork with a sigh to create some space. For a second, she almost missed the simpler days of being in the ring and just trampling whoever was across her, until she attempted to get up from her office chair. The knee stung again, a sharp reminder of why she stopped in the first place. She didn’t mind the souvenir. Hell, she wore it like a badge of pride. Gold and glory come and go, but this would always be here to bring her back down to earth again. It was a small price to pay for the legend she had forged around herself.</p><p> </p><p> She shifted around her apartment and put the kettle to boil. Ichihara was somewhat of a tea connoisseur and the situation called for a steaming cup to put her mind at ease. Running a promotion is hard, especially when you’re both the businessman and the booker, that much she knew before the whole WINNOW project came alive. It’s just that she never expected the kind of issues she’d have to deal with. The worries slowly started creeping back into her mind, but the wheeze of the kettle reached a pitch just in time to snap her out of it. Moments later, she eased back into her chair again, the teacup resting on the little space she had cleared on her office. She held the cup with both hands and closed her eyes as she brought it close to her nose. Cardamom. Ginger. Cinammon. Orange peel. Scent by scent, she untangled the bouquet in her mind as the vapors caressed the skin on her face, its texture dry from age and years of white makeup. It was an almost meditative thing. It was just what she needed right now.</p><p> </p><p> The roster was a mess. Some of the young lions, especially those who had some exposure via 5SSW, were so popular they’d only agree to lose to the top stars. Some of the veterans were on the path of physical decline she knew all too well. Most of the gaijin, at least those who hadn’t toured Japan before, were nobodies and needed to be built up. Tag team wrestling was basically throwing stuff on the wall to see what sticks. The belts were probably too many for such a small roster. Then there was the Pride.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="hsi4Dbf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hsi4Dbf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <em>Inspiring leader or conspiring mastermind?</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Lioness Mushashibo was only 3 years younger than her, both in age and professional experience, but her body was clearly giving up on her. One of the first joshi competitors to introduce top rope moves to her arsenal, years of impact had left their mark on her. She was still over with the fans and could go in the ring, but for those who remember her glory days, Mushashibo was a shadow of her former self. She was brought in as one of the veterans, both using her name value to establish the brand and her experience to train the younger generation. She was a true locker room leader and great person to have backstage, but Ichihara couldn’t help raising an eyebrow at her expanding Pride of young lionesses. First it was Genda. Then they teamed up in a match to play that up and Romi Yamato noticed. Mushashibo was all to happy to take her under her wing as well, but Ichihara questioned the move. She didn’t give voice to her thoughts, but she wasn’t thrilled either. Romi was already primed to be one of 5SSW’s future stars. Unlike Genda, she held no loyalty in her heart for either that promotion or WINNOW, but she was well aware that she was one of the best in-ring workers of the latter’s roster. Something certainly felt amiss. But was the veteran building a clique around her to stay afloat, or was the contender to the throne using her to further her own ambition?</p>

  23. A heel turn for the Diaz cousins and a Kane-style "rip the cage door" spot to sweeten their slide to the dark side. Colour me intrigued, the way you've treated the Diaz family I never expected them to turn (kinda like CWL's version of John Cena or Bailey) but I should have known better reading the diary of a man who built up Riley McManus only to turn him heel and win both face and heel worker annual awards for it...

From my understanding, it has more to do with a worker's age and the mask's ownership/prestige. Older workers winding down their career (especially in decline) should be more willing to lose their masks. Likewise, a company-specific and/or low prestige mask should be easier to sacrifice than a privately-owned, high prestige mask. Still, even now you can test the waters before building up the feud: book a match, order the worker to lose their mask and see how they react. If they object, cancel the feud and if they don't, remove the "loses mask" note (or the entire match) and start the storyline.</p><p> </p><p> On that note, Adam has already announced that personality sliders will be replaced with 'trait tags' like the ones in WMMA5 and players will have the option of talking to a worker, so I'm hoping with TEW2020 it will be easier to tell if a worker is willing to lose their mask sooner rather than later.</p>

Apparently their opponents have a similar deal going on and Mushashibo spents much of the match cheering on her protege as she does her best against her rapidly tagging Flame and Davis. The gaijin do their best to cut the ring in half but the quick and agile Genda manages to escape and tag in the veteran Mushashibo to keep the match going. Though rested, the 45 year old quickly exhausts her gas tank and Genda has to tag back in to provide a breather. This time however, Davis is rutheless and she quickly overwhelms the young lion to hit her Flying Elbow Drop and get the pin.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Thea Davis & Laura Flame</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Flying Elbow Drop</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="gUMXSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gUMXSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="Kt2aza1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Kt2aza1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Kt2aza1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Kt2aza1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> WINNOW Duet titles match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="eVnzbeS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/eVnzbeS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8B2D2n5.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8B2D2n5.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="0zz5IM2.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0zz5IM2.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="yAQaSOo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yAQaSOo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> BATTLE BEASTS vs Hostile Intent</strong></p><p> First of the night's title matches and also a big surprise, the return to Japan of the Missouri Mauler and long time tag team partner to the notorious Gorgon, Connie Morris. She and Young almost mirror their opponents in look, size and style, though there is a vast experience gap and that's what determines the outcome of the match as the pressure of a big title match proves to be too much for the young contenders and Young hits her devastating finisher to flatten BATTLE Takenouchi for the win.</p><p> <strong>Winners and NEW WINNOW Duet champions: Hostile Intent</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Sit-Out Powerbomb</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="EjdrcWN.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EjdrcWN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="GtkXUah.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GtkXUah.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="wgcZPFW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wgcZPFW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="zPaHPzb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zPaHPzb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="RCvIapy.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RCvIapy.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Seek & Destroy vs Chitose Ariwara & Rei Chikanatsu</strong></p><p> Another emotional setup to kick off this match, the long awaited reunion of Seek & Destory following Temko's expulsion from 5SSW after she was caught with steroids. It's a classic tale of big bully brawlers versus high flying babyfaces, with the added factor of the WINNOW Grand Champion being in the match, thus offering a chance at gold for whoever might be able to beat her. Once the nostalgia wears off though, it becomes clear that chemical abuse has taken its toll on the barely 36 year old Temko, especially as she tries to keep up with the fast paced style of her opponents and she ends up getting caught in the Blue Crab Surprise, tapping out to the much smaller Rei Chikanatsu.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Chitose Ariwara & Rei Chikanatsu</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Blue Crab Surprise [single Leg Boston Crab, applied after a backward roll to take down the opponent]</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="vPM9lw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vPM9lw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="Vqy378I.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Vqy378I.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> WINNOW Rising Champion title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="8sEkkAa.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8sEkkAa.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="mSoHzQS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mSoHzQS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Eri "Strong Style" Sato vs "The Dragon's Daughter" Ginko Kuroda</strong></p><p> Just like last month, Kuroda is nothing like the stereotypical slow, methodical mat grappler; instead, she uses speed and agility to gracefully slide between some impressive and painful looking holds, forcing Sato to up her game as well in order to follow. It's a spectacular and dramatic bout that ends a minute or so before the 15' mark, but packs the action of a full half hour epic, culminating to a huge Dragon Suplex with a lovely bridge for the finish.</p><p> <strong>Winner and NEW WINNOW Rising Champion: Ginko Kuroda</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Dragon Suplex</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="9GCKJ3d.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/9GCKJ3d.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> WINNOW Pure Heart title match</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><img alt="rP9LuoR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rP9LuoR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="25UZG0h.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/25UZG0h.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="l9oAwcE.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/l9oAwcE.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> Romi Yamato vs Karen Bilous</strong></p><p> Final title match for the night, the main event features another competitor who hasn't been seen in the joshi scene for quite some time, the tough as nails Ukrainian striker, Karen Bilous. Taking the opposite approach than the semi main event did, this one's a slow burner that begins with the two wrestlers feeling each other out as they try to determine the strengths and weaknesses of one another. This soon turns into back and forth grappling until a big kick from Yamato breaks things up. Unphased, Bilous dares the youngster to hit her with her best shot, before herself retaliating with a chop that echoes across the entire Hall of Nagahama. Fired up, the two ladies pick up the pace from there for the big crescendo of the match, trading moves, finisher attempts and two counts back and forth in beautiful sequences until Bilous finally manages to properly apply the Butterfly Lift-Lock, leaving Yamato no choice but to tap out.</p><p> <strong>Winner and NEW WINNOW Pure Heart champion: Karen Bilous</strong></p><p><strong> Finish: Butterfly Lift-Lock</strong></p><p> <img alt="7EqFCw6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7EqFCw6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="RxEndGj.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RxEndGj.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> Once Bilous is done celebrating, Crusher Ichihara's music hits and the living legend makes her way to the ring, aknowledging Bilous' win with the barest of nods that still comes across as two badass warriors saluting each other. Ichihara then simply points to the screen above the entrance ramp.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="UhnhucC.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UhnhucC.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Coming this month</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">and on the final Sunday of every month</span></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><span style="font-size:14px;">Show Rating:</span></strong></p><p> <img alt="8x5Bau7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8x5Bau7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></p></div><p></p><p></p>
