The Spoiler (my favorite) lost the National Title! Boo-Hiss!! :) Haystacks is tough, huh? He put an end to your winning streak! I liked the ending to that match, as I could visualize it very well. You gave him a good run for his money at the beginning, but the Giant seemed to be his dominant self. Congrats on the World Class signing. I think Fritz snookered you, though. A year at $60 per app.? Ugh! While the game doesn't take finances into account, I'd like to imagine that Callous will make a lot of money for that promotion. Hopefully you'll make a lot of appearances to offset that 'slave labor'. ;) Once you start work for WCCW (one of my favorite promotions), can you list their roster? I'm curious to see who will still be around - and who the newcomers are. Maybe Jardine will head over there, now that he lost that title. Well done!

Well done!
Giant Haystacks is definately dominant but I almost had him. Who knows, maybe if I lasted a couple more minutes it could have gone the other way. I probably should have taken a 6-month contract first and then keep hoping for an extension but maybe the bookers will keep me going, especially after my contract with PNW runs out. As you wish oh mighty one. Here is the current WCCW roster as of the beginning of week 2 in May of 1984: Owner Fritz Von Erich Head Booker Sam Muchnich Annoucers Bill Mercer Marc Lawrence (color commentator) Road Agents George Scott Jose Lothario Referees David Manning Randy Anderson Managers Gary Hart Jean-Louis Cormier Precious Skandor Akbar Sunshine Active Wrestlers Akio Sato Angel Acevedo Angelo Mosca Barbarian Bob Brown Buddy Rogers Butch Miller Chief Jay Strongbow Chris Youngblood Cyclone Negro David Von Erich Eddie Gilbert Eric Embry Frank Dusek Fumihiro Nikura Giant Haystacks Jim Garvin Joe Savoldi Jos Leduc Ken Mantell Ken Timbs Ken Wayne Kendo Nagasaki Kerry Von Erich Kevin Von Erich Killer Kahn Killer Tim Brooks Leo Burke Les Thornton Michael Hayes Mike Von Erich Ray Candy Rick Martel Ron Bass Scott Irwin Stan Lane Steve DiSalvo Terry Gordy Texas Red (Mark Callous) Tiger Mask Tony Garea Toru Tanaka As I did while in PNW I will be putting in the wrestling news any roster movements in WCCW. Unfortunately history couldn't repeat itself because this is where Mark Callous first met William Moody. William Moody (as Percy Pringle) was released three months ago.

hopefully he'll be over enough by 1990 and not broke. I might have to jump to Central States early but right now I'm getting used twice a week in WCCW and maybe once a week in PNW until my contract runs out in two weeks or so. I wonder who will be in the WWF by then.

Great work on this diary, captainlou! Too bad Brian Pillman got so harshly destroyed in his WCCW debut! I think that kid has potential! What's with all the 3-on-2 matches they book? And what the hell happened to the WCCW roster? Where are Chris Adams and Gino Hernandez? They are the top draws in one of my games. Anyway, keep up the fine work! :D

If WCCW owner Fritz Von Erich were to ask me about Brian Pillman, like he asked Giant Haystacks in my debut, I would have told him the same thing. Too bad that that's not part of the game where you are in a match against someone making their debut and are asked in a Q&A format about your opponent after the match. My guess is that the 3-on-2 matches give the head booker a chance to get more wrestlers in the show.

Just wanted to pipe in with my usual kudos to this fantastic diary, cap. There's been a few highly entertaining writers in this diary section; you rank right up there at the top. I have to say that your run downs on the other title defenses are almost as fun as reading about ol' Texas Red. Mil Mascaras and El Solitario trading that Middleweight strap is a lucha dream match. I'm not too hip on that scene, but I have a great respect for both men (despite the slagging Mascaras gets these days, heh); nice to see them slug it out. I also like to see Bob Orton & Dick Slater as champs in Blanchard's Southwest promotion. Those two were a tremendous team - it's nice that the game recognizes that fact, as well. :) Again, well done and thanks for the great reading!

I'm going to try to keep this up and get Mean Mark to the NWA/WCW in 1989 (that would be probably in the Mid-Atlantic territory which is now GLOBAL size) and get him going as the Undertaker in the WWF in 1990 (in November of that year because the Survivor Series was around Thanksgiving). This in itself will take quite a while to get to that far with me right now in mid 1984. I may have to start his time as "The Commando" and probably as "Master of Pain" early if I start getting close to running out of money or if I'm let go by WCCW. If I remember correctly, I think that Mil Mascaras was in the WWWF/WWF in the mid to late 1970s and early 1980s. If I'm correct, then I probably saw him live.

It looks to me that Acevedo is no "angel" and is looking to feud with someone but I don't know who that would be. Could this be building up to be a feud between him and Texas Red? Acevedo did interupt a Texas Red interview. Let's see how WCCW books this out. I'm guessing Acevedo versus Nikura.
