WWE: Frank Sinatra Style

Recommended Posts

I would fill it up a bit, like the draft in real life should. I would also.... Where is RVD? Just thought of that... Anyways, I would also think of doing a bit of crossbrand commercialism (Promote a feud ongoing on raw or smackdown in between). ECW is only a one hour show, so you really shouldn't need a "WHOLE" lot going on there. But adding the other feuds (for angles) would probably help you out there. Your angle's kicked butt on this show though!

Finlay was arguing with him about his lack of a contribution when Kane chokeslammed Regal. With nobody paying attention, the pin was academic. RATING = B- The faces celebrate in the ring as Edge backs up the ramp hugging his title close. Finlay too is watching the champ with a grin. RATING = B+ FINAL RATING = C+ (Another show that will benefit from the influx of talent. Yang and Funaki have excellent chemistry so look for them to become a regular team. You can never have enough tag teams :) )
That post was supposed to have happened about a page back. Shame on me for not refreshing (It was coming after the part where it was said to ditch him in the lake).
No worries, I still laughed when I read it:-) I think anyone else will too! Something about this particular Dynasty is making me sort of "clownish". I don't know why exactly... I do like the whole concept of a "Mafia" background, be it real or Kafabe. Funny though, I cannot think of an Italian stable, tag team, gimmick pushed, or anyone period that I actually liked in wrestling.... Till this guy Santino. Something about him, or "HOW" they are building him, I like. He is typical though... Small, mat worker more then ariel or flashiness, although he does have some "Flash". I don't think it's his wrestling though, I think he is just a "like-able" character. I don't like most the 50's types (including the newer tag team champions... Although I'm hoping that Snuka breaks out on a solo carreer after that's over), or Italian type gimmicks. They never get anyone that is "BIG" enough to look the threat they are supposed to be to me. At least with Santino, they are building him around being a "Small Fry" or very much the "Underdog". Kind of an "Everyman" gimmick, and it's working. GO ROCKY!!! LOL.

Good Diary!!! Like your promos!! I think the matches could have a bit more detail added to them however! Things such as match-time, storytelling, telling us how the crowd responded, if the workers had good chemistry etc, can improve the actual matches! Nonetheless though, you still have a good diary going! And I'm pleased with the decision you made that ECW superstars should remain on the ECW brand etc

Thanks for the feedback folks Don't know why I didn't put match time in to begin with but I'll fix that. I'm trying to work out my balance of kayfabe v "real" with regards to storytelling and chemistry etc. Not sure how far I could go with what happened in each match before it either became repetitve or slipped into bland move by move accounting. I'll experiment anyway and hopefully you guys will "yay" or "nay" :) There wasn't actually going to be any mafioso connection but the more I think about it the more I now want to do it (kind of). I have an idea on how to do it that will also link in with one of my favourite times in wrestling (though probably not many others peoples!). Once all the players are in place it will unfold! I'll hopefully get some more shows done tomorrow so keep an eye on who arrives on what brand over the next few weeks...

LIVE! From the Savemart Centre in Fresno California, this is Monday Night Raw! DARK MATCH 1 Umaga & The Great Khali def. The Highlanders by pinfall in RATING = C+ DARK MATCH 2 Cheerleader Melissa, Ms Chif & Lu Fisto def. Terri Gold, Eden Black & Mariko Yoshida by pinfall in RATING = E+ **************************************************************************** Torrie Wilson opens the show by firing T-Shirts into the crowd. RATING = C+ JR: Welcome to RAW folks. Tonight we have two title matches in store for you. Viscera will defend his Intercontinental title against Cryme Tyme's Shad. King: And The Hardy Boys put their tag gold on the line against Randy Orton and Carlito! Coach: And judging by the beating those two gentlemen gave Ric Flair and John Cena last week, I predict we'll being seeing new champs crowned tonight! RATING = B- MATCH 1 Trinity & Mickie James def. Molly Holly & Victoria by pinfall in 8.22 Trinity and Mickie worked well together, concentrating on keeping Molly in the ring to negate the influenc of the more agressive Victoria. The tactic paid of when Trinity connected with the Fall From Grace for the pin. RATING = C- Trinity & Mickie are celebrating when Melina, acompanied by Johnny Nitro, appears at the top of the ramp. Melina: Well... tramp! Congratulations on your win with psycho there. I'd like to say I'm impressed... but I'm not. Watch out later on and I'll show you what a champion can do! RATING = C- Santino Marella is interviewed backstage. Marella: I had a good start here in the WWE, winning the Intercontinental title in my first match. My reign didn't last long though and now some people are starting to question if I have what it takes to cut it here. Well I aim to prove to you all that I deserve to be here. Chris Masters, bring your A-Game, because I know I will. RATING = D- MATCH 2 Chris Masters def. Santino Marella by submission in 8.53 Marella fought a hard match and looked to be getting the better of the Masterpiece. Unfortunately Marella's sense of sportsmanship got the better of him when, after Masters fell to the floor outside, he feigned a leg injury. When Marella went to check on his opponent he found himself suckerpunched and sent head first into the guard railing. Masters quickly rolled him back in and applied the Masterlock. RATING = D+ JR: Well last week folks we saw young Kenny Dykstra take on The Big Valbowski, Val Venis and maybe things didn;t go exactly as the youngster would have liked. King: Your right there JR, he looked to be taking Val pretty lightly and you don't do that against someone as experienced as that. JR: Well he asked Eric Bischoff for another chance and that's exactly what he got. Coach: He'll be a much more focused opponent tonight JR, just watch. I spoke to him backstage and he's fuming that he lost to a has been! RATING = C MATCH 3 Val Venis def. Kenny Dykstra by pinfall in Coach is right and Kenny brings a lot more focus to the match this time round but Val isn't a pushover for the young lion. His inability to put the veteran away frustrates Kenny and leads to some silly mistakes, which are immediately capitalised on by Valbowski who hits the Money Shot for the 123. RATING = B- Cade & Murdoch are seen backstage with The Hardys. Cade: So you have a match against Benjamin & Hass at Great American Bash but before that you have to fight Orton and Carlito? Matt: Yeah, should be a close match but we're not giving up these belts any time soon. Murdoch: Yeah well y'see, we kinda though we might have been next in line for a shot. After all we have been keeping your back these past few weeks. We figured maybe you'd be looking to return the favour to us. Jeff: Well sure, you'll get your shot just like everyone else. Murdoch: Yeah but say you lose to Orton and Carlito tonight or even Benjamin and Hass at Bash then everything we've been doing is for no... Cade elbows his partner. Cade: Don't be stupid Murdoch. They're not going to lose. They're a great team and I for one have complete faith in them. I'd wish you luck tonight guys but you both know you don't need it. Jeff eyes the pair suspiciously while Matt seems pleased with the compliment. RATING = C The World's Greatest Tag Team interrupt. Benjamin: Good luck tonight Hardy Boys, I'm sure we could beat Orton and Carlito too but it would be preferably to defeat the great Hardy Boys for the gold. So keep those belts shiny boys, we don't want to have to polish them the day after Great American Bash. Charlie: Heh, yeah and don't worry you'll all get your shot at us when we're champs. You'll lose, but you'll get your shot all the same. RATING = C- MATCH 4 Melina def. Jersey by pinfall in Melina begins strongly but underestimates her less well known opponent. It takes a well timed trip by Nitro at ringside to put her back in control and an Extreme Makeover for Jersey leaves the German out cold. RATING = D+ Melina: This is what it means to be champ skank! And you just don't have it. Great American Bash is where I prove it to all these idiots here. Trinity appears on screen. Trinity: Well done Melina. I'm really impressed, that must have been quite difficult and required a lot of training... Oh, I hope you don;t think I'm talking about that match there. I meant how you managed to get that trained puppy of yours to behave so well. Nitro is it? RATING = C+ Cryme Tyme are backstage with Melina again as Shad gets ready for his shot at Big Vis. JTG: Look man he's BIG, I mean REALLY BIG! WIDESCREEN PANORAMIC BIG! Shad: You're just saying that because you're smaller than me, its perspective. JTG: Melina tell him how big he is. Melina: Umm he's like huge! Bigger than anyone I've seen. Just then Ron Simmons walks in...."DAMN!" RATING = C- MATCH 5 Viscera def. Shad by pinfall in to retain the WWE Intercontinental Title. Shad has more power than his partner but its still raindrops on a tank to Viscera. He does manage to rock the big man but, again, the only time he leaves his feet is when he splashes his opponent for the pinfall. RATING = D- Viscera stands triumphant with his title. RATING = C- Orton & Carlito are interviewed backstage. Orton: The Legend Killer knows talent when he sees it and watching this man deal with that old has been Flair the other night convinced me that great minds do think alike. Tonight we take on The Hardys for tag gold. That's a nice bonus but the Raw Heavyweight title is the real prize. Cena? consider your reign put on notice. Carlito: That's right, we'll take care of you Cena. One of us will defeat you and then we'll settle it between ourselves. Orton raises an eyebrow at that. Carlito: Hardys? You might not be legends just yet but after we beat you tonight you WILL be history. And that is cool! RATING = B- JR, King and the Coach hype the main event. RATING = C+ MATCH 6 The Hardy Boys def. Carlito & Orton by pinfall in An excellent bout between four great competitors. All four went all out in the ring delivering a match full of action. Eventually Orton and Carlito resorted to cheap tactics and looked to be walking away with the titles but a certain Ric Flair showed the youngsters what dirty tricks really are when he threw powder in the eyes of Carlito and started to brawl with Orton at ringside. Unable to see, Carlito quickly fell victim to the double team offense of Team Xtreme. RATING = B Carlito manages to regain his vision and helps Orton with Flair. 2 on 1 they quickly gain the upper hand but not for long as John Cena runs down to help. All four men brawl wildly around ringside until security and agents flood out from the back to restrain them. Following in their wake is Eric Bischoff. RATING = B Bischoff: Gentlemen since you seem so content to beat the living hell out of each other I have no choice but to let you do just that. At The Great American Bash! So it will be John Cena versus Randy Orton, versus Carlito, versus The Nature Boy Ric Flair. For the WWE Raw Heavyweight Title. FATAL FOUR WAY! RATING = B+ FINAL RATING = B- (Oops, forgot about the times halfway down. Shad and Vis didn't click sadly. Need to get him better opponents if the push is to go anywhere. Kenny and Val have great chemistry so I'm sure they'll hook up more. Khali and Umaga are problematic since I want Vis to be the resident monster but I have a few ideas for them.)

Taz: We have another rocketbustah tonight aint that right Pauly? Heyman: That's right Taz, tonight The Straight Edge Sensation, CM Punk teams up with The Irresistable Force that is Bobby Lashley to take on Vince McMahon's personal guard Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. Styles: Both teams match up favourably so I think we can look forward to one hell of a match! But what about Mr McMahon, "our" ECW Champion? Heyman: I have an announcement regarding our Doctor of Hardcore which I will make later on. Trust me, he'll love it. Striker: Don't rush me old man! Old Man: Sheesh! RATING = D MATCH 1 The FBI (Guido and Tony Mamaluke) def. Guido scored the pinfall on Brett after Mamaluke hit a low blow. RATING = D Vince McMahon is backstage with his crew. Vince: So Paul has an announcement. Look at me shake. RATING = C+ MATCH 2 Sandman def. Kevin Thorne by pinfall in The two brawlers matched up well, Thorne looking particularly impressive. Marcus CorVon & Elijah Burke by pinfall in Both teams did match up well but surprisingly perhaps Punk and Lashley were the more cohesive unit. Shane and Vince chose to remain bakstage and watch the match on a monitor. The weren't at all pleased when they saw Lashley sidestep a Pounce from an illegal CorVon and then leap straight into a spear on Burke for the pin. RATING = C+ As the faces celebrate and the heels retreat up the ramp Heyman steps into the ring with his announcement. Heyman: Vince we both know you are extreme. The Doctor of Hardcore. Well lets see how the Doctor fairs in a clinic, a wrestling clinic. Vince McMahon versus Bobby Lashley one on one, normal rules. Oh and if Shane or your other two lackeys get involved? I'll strip you of that title faster than you can say XFL! The show closes with Vince's beet red faces glaring at the monitor. RATING = B+ FINAL RATING = C (Things should hopefully pick up soon when I get to bolster the roster and move on with storylines :) )

Needless to say, this makes him a huge free agent. Will he return to the WWE fold? Or will he head to TNA where his friend Christian has already made a successful run? There are also suggestions that some Japanese promotions may look to sign him up for some big money match ups. Taping managed to go ahead as planned but both men were not as prepared as management would have liked. Apparently punishment has been limited to a verbal warning on this occaision though sources within the WWE are keen to point out that there will be no tolerance for ECW slipping back into the ways associated with it prior to being bought over.

It was pretty back and forth until Angel got up onto the apron and distracted the ref, allowing The Naturals to doubleteam Jay Briscoe for the win. RATING = D- JBL is in the ring to introduce Austin Aries JBL: Welcome to Smackdown Austin. Aries: Thank you JBL, its good to be here. I've worked hard all over the world but you know you've made it when your standing in the middle of a WWE ring. But I'm not content to stop at this acheivement. JBL: Oh no? Aries: No, y'see I feel good being here but I don't feel great. And I won't feel great until there is some gold around this waist. I'm here to make an impact and I can think of no better way to do it than to become a champion on this brand. The interview continues for a while until its time for the next match. Instead of going to the back, Aries decides to join Cole and JBL at the commentary table. RATING = F+ MATCH 3 Chavo Guerrero def. Shannon Moore by pinfall to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title in 10:48 Another good match up between to long term members of the Cruiserweight division. JBL I think I've found my first target. RATING = D MVP is backstage putting the moves on Michelle McCool. She isn't particularly impressed by him however. Stephanie appears to chastise him for not keeping his head "in the game". "I thought that was exactly what I was doing" he replies. Listen up kiddos, playtime's over. You might have beaten the fonzie twins but this is a different ballgame. We'll beat you tonight and that will give us the pleasure of beating you again at Great American Bash. RATING = B- MATCH 5 Finlay & Regal def. The Hooligans by pinfall in 12:46 The Hooligans use their speed to good effect in the earlty going before the more methodical pace of the veterans takes over and grounds them. A late rally by London is cut short by a well timed Shilleleigh shot and the Celtic Cross makes sure Finlay and Regal are PPV bound. RATING = C- Finlay and Regal celebrate victory in the ring. RATING = B- Batista: Edge has beaten me twice so its only right that I have to compete for the right to face him again. So tonight me and The Big Red Machine are gonna beat hell out of each other for the chance at wiping that smile off of Edge's face and even though it will be tough it will definitely be worth it! RATING = B Cole and JBL hype the main event. Edge comes down and takes a seat with them to observe the upcoming match. Cole: So Edge, which would you prefer Inferno or Hell in a Cell? Kane or Batista? Edge: Shut the hell up Michael Cole! Obviously I dont want either. What kind of idiot would want to face either of these beasts? RATING = B- MATCH 6 Batista def. Kane by pinfall in 13:33 A brutal, hard hitting match, filled with powerful moves. Both monsters went at each other full tilt showing Edge exactly what he can expect at Great American Bash. The finish came when Kane went up for the flying clothesline and Batista popped up after him, catching him in a Batista Bomb from the second rope. RATING = C Post match Batista grabs a mic and stares down the champ. Batista: Well you know what they say, lightning doesn't strike twice... But you know what else they say Edge? Third time's a charm! RATING = B FINAL RATING = C (Kane and Batista didn't click which is a shame since I had high hopes for that and the Austin Aries segment tanked way worse than I expected! I just need to stay the course and build up the workers I'm putting on the brand I guess)

Out of curiosity.... I'm wondering why MVP has Stephanie McMahan? Outside of that, I'm really digging this. Alot of things I've thought about (and even said before) are coming to light in this Diary. SO PERSONALLY, This diary is just kicking butt in my opinion. I'm hoping the woman's division really starts to take off, but I have a question for you. For the Woman's Division, how are you figuring out there push? I mean, what I ussually do, is go into the editor and make the promotion push them just as if they are men, then write that down, go back, and change it back to division. IS there a better way to do this? (I try to keep it at the "suggested" push's for the different woman).

IS there a better way to do this? (I try to keep it at the "suggested" push's for the different woman).
Hey thanks again for the feebdack :) Steph's a lifetime contract and she has decent mic ability so I figure I might as well use her. I always thought MVP should have an agent looking out for him all the time, the guy can cut it on the mic himself but I figure character-wise its something he really should have. Someone who will make sure the contracts are cast iron and the stipulations aren't detrimental to the client's well being. Where was MVP's agent when Teddy Long booked him in an Inferno Match? Steph has always been presented as a shrewd businesswoman so why wouldn't she hitch up with someone who looks destined for the top? As for the women, since they all fall under "women's division" I don't need to worry too much about the pushes they get. That said I tend to push the more over ones harder or sacrifice them to the ones I'm bringing up the way. I probably have more women workers than I really need on the roster but I can always trim some of the fat once they fall into a more stable pecking order (the dreaded overness cap might take care of some for me too).

DARK MATCH 1 La Resistance (Rene Dupree & Sylvan Grenier) def. Erick Stevens & Brent Albright by pinfall. RATING = D+ DARK MATCH 2 Cheerleader Melissa & Ms Chif def. Eden Black & Jersey by pinfall. RATING = E DARK MATCH 3 Colt Cabana def. Keven Martel by pinfall RATING = E+ **************************************************************************** JR: Welcome folks, we have a great main event in store for you as John Cena takes on former Tag and Intercontinental champion Johnny Nitro! King: Just think what a win for Nitro could do for his career here on Raw! Coach: That's what happens when you're the champ. Everyone is gunning for you to make a name for themselves, none more so than Randy Orton and Carlito. JR: Yes Coach and both those men will get their shot at the champ on Sunday at The Great American Bash. King: Don;t forget the fourth man in that match, The Nature Boy himself: Ric Flair! JR: Oh I didn't forget him, and his three opponents would do well not to either. It would be a big mistake to rule out the dirtiest player in the game from any match he's involved in. RATING = C MATCH 1 Burchill def. Chris Masters by pinfall in Masters usual power offense found its match in Burchill who also held an advantage over the Masterpiece in both speed and technique. An attempt to lock in the Masterlock was countered into a jawbreaker and the C4 led to a pin for the Englishman. RATING = D Burchill celebrates his win. RATING = D- Torrie and Maria are backstage comparing beauty tips. Voice: Hey guys, so good to see you. I KNOW we're gonna be great friends! Torrie: You? When did you get here? Does Eric Bischoff know? Daffney: Of course he knows, he says I'll fit right in here! He said he'd give me the job if it meant I'd get away from him. He's so silly sometimes! Daffney grabs both girls in a big crazy hug. RATING = C MATCH 2 Victoria, Molly Holly & Lita def. Mickie James, Ivory & Lu Fisto by pinfall in Lita and Mickie James went for one another at every opportunity while Lu Fisto and Molly alkso seemed to pair off. Unfortunately this left Ivory to contend with Victoria whose sheer agression proved to much for the veteran and the Widow's Peak finished the match for the heels. RATING = D- John Cena is walking backstage when he bumps into Ric Flair, who has Candice Michelle on his arm. Flair: Hey champ, just wanted to wish you luck tonight. Cena: Thanks Ric, I know we're opponents on Sunday but you should watch your back for Orton and Carlito. I know I am. Flair: Those punks? Never mind them. I'll be watching your match tonight against Johnny Nitro and then its off out on the town with this little lady. Maybe even a trip to space mountain huh? WOOOO! RATING = B MATCH 3 Trinity def. Terri Gold by pinfall in Terri starts out by doing jumping jacks to show off her athletic ability. Trinity isn't impressed and almost clotheslines her out of her boots. The match stays pretty on sided from there and Trinity finshes up with the Fall From Grace. RATING = D- Melina appears on the 'tron with Johnny Nitro. Melina: Hey skank, another win? Don't get used to them. Sunday will change all of that. But I can;t waste anymore time on a tramp like you just now, I have to get my man ready for his match when he beats the WWE Raw Champion one on one. See you Sunday skank. RATING = C MATCH 4 Cryme Tyme def. The West Hollywood Blondes by pinfall in 7:49 Cryme Tyme are thrown off their game by the Blonde's antics but soon regain control and finish them off handily. RATING = E+ Cryme Tyme have mics. JTG: Viscera, over the past two weeks you've beaten both of us one on one. Now me and Shad have been talking and we think those two matches were unfair. Y'see you are a big dude. I mean really big. Your so big your girlfriend, if you have one, can roll over twice and STILL be on you! But seriously because your so big, we figure its like we were fighting two guys, like a handicap so what we suggest is that you take us BOTH on to even up the odds. RATING = D Viscera walks out, the title belt over his shoulder. Viscera: Both of you? Sure, you bring it and I'll show you that two punks DON'T equal one champ! RATING = C- The Hardys are backstage giving a promo. Matt: Well, we defended our title last week and, on Sunday we put them on the line again against The "World's Greatest Tag Team". Greatest? I don't know about that but you guys will get your chance to prove it to us when we step into that ring. We thrive on competition. RATING = B- Just then, Benjamin and Hass appear. Words are exchanged and things get a little heated but before things can get physical, Cade & Murdoch interject. Murdoch: Easy boys easy. No need to fight just now. Save your energy for Sunday. Cade: Yeah you'll all need it for the big match, no sense in wasting it now. We'll be joinging the spectators in looking forward to great match between you guys. Don't disappoint us y'hear? RATING = C- Armando Alejandro Estrada is in the ring. AAE:You all know I represent the Samoan Bulldozer UUUUUMAAAAGGAAAA! A dominant force here on Raw. But Eric Bischoff has overlooked us. He also ignored someone else you may all remember so I asked him to join us in sending a wake up call to Uncle Eric... I give you Umaga! AND... The Great Khali! Both men enter the ring and pose for the crowd. King: My god JR, together I don't think anyone or anything can stop them! AAE: To all of you in back? Consider yourselves put on notice! RATING = C MATCH 5 Kenny Dykstra def. Val Venis by pinfall in Another even match from the two men. Val once again looked to take the upper hand but this time Kenny resorted to cheating, rolling the Big Valbowski up with a handful of tights for the three count. RATING = B+ John Cena cuts a promo. Cena: At Great American Bash I face not one, not two, but three opponents. The Nature Boy, Ric Flair. The Legend Killer Randy Orton. And... um... well the Apple Guy! Carlito! Tough odds for anyone, but John Cena aint just anyone. I will walk down that aisle as champion and I will walk back up it just the same because that is what I have to do. Now, onto tonight. Johnny Nitro is looking to step up in the world? Well maybe you should learn to walk before you run son or is it that your owner Melina wants this match so she can get a little closer to the champ? I see the glint in her eye... RATING = B+ MATCH 6 John Cena def. Johnny Nitro by submission in Nitro gives a strong showing against the champ hinting that he may be ready to step up into the title chase but, without constant interference from Melina, it would have been a much shorter match. Eventually her meddling gets her sent to the back and allows Cena to lock in the STFU without any distractions. RATING = B+ Cena is celebrating in the ring when cameras cut backstage to show Carlito and Ranfy Orton laying the boots to Ric Flair. He is bleeding heavily and offering little resistance. The heels then turn to the camera smiling. RATING = C Carlito: John Cena, now there will only be three in the ring at Great American Bash. Orton: We teamed up to take out Flair tonight. On Sunday, we'll do the same to you and then we decide which of us is the WWE Raw Champion. Two thing's are for sure though: It won't be Flair... Carlito:... And it won't be you! RATING = B+ FINAL RATING = C+ (The last two matches saved this show from being a disaster. I need to be careful not to load the card up with so many unknowns.)

Balls Mahoney by pinfall RATING = D **************************************************************************** Styles: We're days away from The Great American Bash where ECW "champion" Vince McMahon takes on Bobby Lashley one on one. Heyman: And if Shane, Burke or CorVon interfere I will STRIP that title off of our "Doctor of Hardcore". Taz: Lashley against Vince with no help from his team? That aint gonna be pretty. Styles: But tonight Bobby Lashley takes on the dark soul of ECW, Kevin Thorne. Taz: And Vince himself will be in action as he teams up with his son Shane in a warm up match against The Majors Brothers! RATING = C- MATCH 1 Tommy Dreamer def. Snitsky by pinfall in 7:51 Snitsky's brawling didn't have much effect on the former ECW champ who seemed to have more in the tank in each exchange. One DDT later and Dreamer was announced the winner. RATING = D MATCH 2 Vince McMahon & Shane McMahon def. The Majors Brother by pinfall in 7:59 Vince and Shane showed a surprising amount of teamwork in the match but the natural athleticism of the Majors Brothers soon put them ahead. Elijah Burke ran in when the ref, and Vince, were distracted and laid out Brett. Vince turned around and stole the pin before celebrating wildly, pointing at Heyman and yelling "see? No help!". RATING = C- Tony Stardust is backstage hyping up his arrival in ECW. Stardust: ECW is so plain and grungy it needs and injection of style. Tony Stardust is the man to do just that. No longer will you people have to sit at home watching drunks, vampires, teachers and... a guy with a thing for feet?! I will be a superstar you can be proud to cheer to victory! RATING = E MATCH 3 CM Punk def. Tony Mamaluke by pinfall in 7:56 Punk took control from the start and never let it go. Not even interference from Guido could allow Mamaluke to gain an edge. Punk looked crisp and determined. RATING = B- Vince is backstage with Shane. Vince: See Shane? No interference. I can handle it, I'm hardcore. Burke: Umm, Mr McMahon? Shane: HE'S RIGHT Elijah! He IS hardcore, I was just a spectator on the apron for that match. The champ has nothing to worry about on Sunday. So we can't interfere? Who says we would have needed to anyway? Vince: EXACTLY! Vince walks off beaming with pride. Burke: Burt, umm... Shane: Relax, I'm dealing with it... RATING = B- MATCH 4 Bobby Lashley def. Kevin Thorne by pinfal in 8:49 Lashley looked ready for Sunday in this match but Thorne was not giving up easily. Both men went hard at each other and hitting some strong offense but Lashley overpowered the vampire in the end taking momentum with him into Sunday. RATING = B- Marcus CorVon rushes the ring to attack Lashley. They trade punches and The Alpha Male actually rocks his target but when he runs in for the Pounce Lashley uses CorVon own speed against him and launches him through the rops into the announce table. RATING = C Lashley: Vince, your lackey failed to soften me up. If you want me beaten down you'll have to do it yourself and on Sunday at Great American Bash, you'll have no other choice! Smackdown is filmed in front of a live studio audience. This time at Bridgeview Hall in Vancouver! Cole: Welcome to Smackdown! We have a huge main event tonight for you folks. JBL: A preview of what's in store at the Grest American Bash as Kane & Batista team up to take on Edge and MVP! Can two men who were opponents only last week work together here tonight? Cole: Never mind that. Can the ring contain the combined egos of Edge and MVP?! But up first we have a number one contender match up for the WWE Cruiserweight title! RATING = B- MATCH 1 Shannon Moore def. Petey Williams, Jamie Noble & Jimmy Yang by pinfal on Williams in 13:28 Fast paced action from the cruisers which saw the Emperor of Emo secure the victory by isolating the newcomer Williams. RATING = D+ Moore is celebrating in the ring when he finds himself under attack from the Cruiserweight champion Chavo Guerrero. He manages to mount a come back but that is quickly cut of by a shot to the head with the title belt. Chavo stand smugly over the fallen body of his contender. RATING = D MATCH 2 Homicide def. Majik by pinfall in 7:57 Homicide looked strong and handled the unknown Englishman with relative ease. The Copkilla was delivered with authority and the 3 count followed soon after. RATING = E Homicide takes a mic from ringside. Homicide: My name is Homicide. I suggest you all remember it! RATING = E Austin Aries is backstage with Michelle McCool when Chavo walks past. Aries: Oh hey champ. Those are interesting tactics you've been using lately. Was that a greco-roman belt shot? Anyway good luck on Sunday. Wow, that's a nice belt. Michelle, don't you think that belt would look good on me? Chavo: Oh you'll get your shot... once you earn it. Aries: Oh beleive me, I intend to. RATING = D+ MATCH 3 Finlay, William Regal & The Naturals def. The Briscoe Brothers & The Hooligans by pinfall in 11:38 The Naturals and Briscoes looked to impress in this match but the real story was still in the veteran team of Finlay and Regal taking on the young champs. The opponents for Sunday got little interaction however and from what little they did they appeared to be evenly matched. The win came when regal used "The Power of the Punch" to lay our Mark briscoe and take the cheap victory. RATING = C- Finlay & Regal celebrate the win and taunt Kendrick & London. RATING = B- Kane & Batista are backstage. Batista: Yes we were opponents last week but, tonight, we are on the same page. Because, you see, we both love nothing more than beating on inflated egos and it just so happens that our opponents tonight fit that description. Kane: I might have missed out on a shot at Edge this time round but MVP that just means bad news for you because you'll be the one that has to deal with me in a bad mood. RATING = B MATCH 4 The Miz def. Funaki by pinfall in 7:21 Miz looked good but Funaki's experience was definitely making the difference until an unknown female ran down to ringside and, after Miz got the ref's attention, delivered a low blow which left him open for the easy pinfall. RATING = D- Miz celebrates in the ring with his unknown helper. RATING = D- MATCH 5 Chris Benoit def. Daivari by submission in 5:02 Benoit again took complete control of the match allowing very little offense from his opponent and securing the tap out quickly and efficiently. It appeared that Daivari and Benoit had little in the way of chemisrty in the ring. RATING = C- Benoit celebrates. RATING = B Edge, MVP and Stephanie McMahon are backstage with Lillian Garcia. Edge: Hell in the Cell is only days away and I have to compete in this match? What is this crap Teddy Long? GM's are supposed to be impartial but its clear you are out to get me! Stephanie: I protest this ridiculous booking Long, my client should not have to perform twice in one week but it won't matter. A star of his caliber will shine no matter what you do to keep him down. MVP: That's right, I am Smackdown's MVP. I'll prove it tonight... And I'll prove it Sunday when I successfully defend my United States Title. RATING = B MATCH 6 Batista & Kane def. Edge & MVP by countout in 13:23 Edge & MVP are overpowered from the get go. Edge in particualr seems reluctant to take part in the match and, after a while, both heels decide to take a walk rather than take any more of a beating from the two monsters across the ring. RATING = B Edge: This match doesn't mean anything, this isn't worth it. Batista I'll see you in the Cell then we'll see who the better man is. Batista: You want be walking out on Sunday Edge, carried out maybe, but not walking! RATING = B FINAL RATING = C+ (I'll settle for these rating until I get things built up and set as I want but hopefully they'll go up soon!)
