Gail Kim vs Mickie James

<p>I heard great things about Alexis Laree when she first started in WWE as Mickie James. I reserved judgement until i'd seen her wrestle. <em>"Not bad"</em>, I thought but then I saw her wrestle Trish Stratus... when she tried to emulate the "headlock rope bounce into a bulldog" (can't remember what it was called).. my God was that awful.</p><p> </p><p>

In my opinion the best the WWE have to offer are:</p><p> </p><p>

1. Natalie Neidhart</p><p>

2. Beth Phoenix</p><p>

3. Gail Kim</p><p>

4. Maryse</p><p> </p><p>

Yep, i'd put Maryse above Mickie James, Melina and more. Not even sure what it is about her, and no it's not the obvious, but something about her matches (that i've seen at least) seem to flow and she makes you believe in her character.</p><p> </p><p>

Michelle McCool has also improved but her matches seem "forced" somehow. She can do the moves but "something" just doesn't seem right.</p>

Psychology. Something that is missing from alot of people, especially people like Evan Borne.

She is also having a ton of fun, and it's very obvious. That makes a difference as well.

Far as wrestling though, she sucks, lol.

I've been hoping that Layla picks up on this stuff as well. There have been a few glimpses. I wonder who is training them anyways?

Maryse looks frail and awkward to me, but she's got Charisma. That hair flick is fabulously insulting.

I fast-forward through most Women's matches nowadays. Nothing against chicks fighting, I'm just not interested in any of the characters and anticipate too many botches for it to be fun for me.

Gail Kim must have had awesome chemistry with Awesome Kong. I saw them have a great match in Coventry during TNA's first UK tour. Wonderful David vs Goliath battle. The crowd got into it more than anything else on the show, and Kong killed her with every move she had. In WWE she has far from impressed me. Just a slightly more energetic version of the frail, awkward girls they already had.

I still wouldn't insult her by saying Maryse is better. Maryse is a train wreck as far as wrestling is concerned. She just fits the 'E's preferred form of women's wrestling (the 'diva' concept). Maryse is like Hogan and Rock were, where her primary allure has nothing to do with what she can do between the ropes. In that respect, she's better than Mickie IMO.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Self" data-cite="Self" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="24234" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Maryse looks frail and awkward to me, but she's got Charisma. I mean, they did work very well together but look where Kong came from. She's an AJW alum. She worked in ARSION. She's worked with pretty much every legendary joshi worker in (modern) history. She was green as grass when she started with Inoki Dojo. But a few years immersed in the environment of the pinnacle of women's wrestling (and hell, let's be honest, wrestling in general) and she developed really quickly. There's a reason women's workers all look to get invites to tour Japan. It's the quickest way to improve your ring work, given their training methods. It's almost cliché now. You learn and refine your entertainment skills in the US (ask Sumie Sakai, Eden Black, Jetta, etc) and you go to Japan when you want to be a real, serious wrestler.</p><p> </p><p> Gail benefited from superior, top flight competition, a few of whom have done their share of Japan (Melissa, Kong). She won't have that luxury with WWE, especially now. Her last go-round, she had the Greek chick with the sanitized ethnic name (man, what was that girl's name? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) and Victoria to work with. Not this time. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Probably the best women's matches I've ever seen in "mainstream" American wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> Has Ayako Hamada debuted on TNA yet? I may have to check it out again just to see what they do with her.</p>

<p>In further TNA Knockout's news: Knockout Tag Team belts! Yes indeed, be curious how they will juggle that belt between the other goings on and they would seriously need more women workers for it to succeed.</p><p> </p><p>

Teams known so far:</p><p> </p><p>

Wilde + Sarita</p><p>

Kong + Saeed</p><p>

Tara + Hemme</p><p>

Brooks + Sharmell (seriously?)</p><p> </p><p>

There will be 4 more as it will be 8 team torunement starting next Impact</p><p> </p><p>

I Expect:</p><p> </p><p>

Love + Skye (duh)</p><p>

ODB + Deaner (comedy)</p><p>

Ayako + Flash ("new" team + double duty for Melissa)</p><p>

Bolt + Khan (if she still has a job if it is proven Angle is in the right.)</p>

I did not realize that TNA has that many Knockouts and I watch it every week! I still do not agree with a womans tag team title though. It will end up being like the Legends Title not much point to it. It also makes me annoyed that they built up the Knockouts single title only to make a joke of it having Cody win it.

<p>Actually that isn't the full roster as I didn't use Madison plus Flash and Saeed are the same person and Sharmell isn't a wrestler and Brooks not so much anymore. But yeah they recently added Ayako and Sarita, Hemme is back from injury and Cheerleader Melissa is pulling double duty as Flash/Saeed.</p><p> </p><p>

So if you count Brooks it is 14 of em total hell now that I count them that is quite the number. But yeah they need more tv time before they expand on the titles imho and they recently resigned with Spike. Which agreed to give them TNA Epics type show added to the program but that is it. So they either need a new show or it will be very tricky booking.</p><p> </p><p>

Edit: It is 15 how the hell did I forget Daffney??? I love me some Scream Queen.</p>

<p>I actually like the idea of Knockouts Tag Team titles. Usually I'm a fan of less-is-more when it comes to belts, but I can see some benefit to it, it'll give more of the women storylines, and it's not something WWE are doing. Perhaps they should have waited until this IWGP thing is done and dusted, and I hate the "Legends" title with a fiery passion. I mean... What is it? If wrestling was real, what is it? There's no weight limit, no age limit, it's just another belt. Ever since getting into UFC with their weight classes, the whole concept of "Midcard Titles" has seemed completely ridiculous to me.</p><p> </p><p>

I hope TNA don't get another show. I 'watched' the recent Impact, and only found 20 minutes of watchable stuff (fun little MCMG skit, Beer Money). They need to tighten up what they've got before adding more time.</p>

As for TNA getting another TV show, if it would focus on one group (i.e. the X-Division or the Knockouts Division) and it was 1 hour long, it could be beneficial to TNA.</p>

<p>According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mickie James was chewed out by management backstage at RAW on Monday as a result of how she reacted when her match with Gail Kim fell apart. The feeling is that she acted highly unprofessionally by showcasing her frustration on camera. Furthermore, producers were none to pleased with James' improvised finish to the match, which was a forearm followed by a pin.</p><p> </p><p> To put the speculation to rest, Kim was indeed out of it towards the end of the match, thus explaining why it fell apart.
