It's similar to when I'll mention an AEW talent who hasn't been on TV in a while, and someone will pipe up with, "Oh, but they've been on ROH a lot" which my response is usually, "Who cares? I wish TK would bring in someone like Scott D'amore to run ROH or even have Scott as a high ranking member of AEW's creative team to help right the ship. I still think he would have been that all along if they had let him be himself instead of trying to force him into a less witty John Cena. Roman is at his best when he's calculating and reserved. They also tried to make him an underdog character when he's naturally bad ass. I agree though, when he returns, he's going to be huge. Also, when Cody turns heel, he'll get nuclear heat. Last night look was perfect for the breakdown angle. We can never give him enough credit for his on-screen role. Glad more people are coming aboard the Liv Morgan train that I've been on since they painted her as a massive underdog against Charlotte (when she called Liv a nobody). Ending segment with The Bloodline was cool af, they really look like a Samoan Mob right now lol. They have to win at MITB. Probably doesn't help it's the first time in a few weeks without at least one attempted murder. Drew McIntyre - Punk LA Knight - Logan Paul Chad Gable - Wyatts Jey Uso - The Bloodline (albeit unlikely) Could be a situation where everyone is taken out by interference and Carmelo Hayes wins and his character continues to think he's the top man even though he's not. He wins MitB and Gunther wins the title as SummerSlam but Gunther isn’t worried about Chad at all because he’s never lost to him until Chad finds a proper moment then cashes in. Jaysin Posted July 6 Share Posted July 6 MITB Predictions from a fan who rarely has time to watch the weekly shows Men's MITB: Chad Gable or LA Knight- Gable is one of the best in ring guys they have and can have a good match with anyone. Knight on the other hand, can get a reaction from any fan. I love Andrade and would lose it if he won, but I doubt it. Women's MITB: Chelsea or Tiffy- Chelsea takes everything she's given and gives it her all. Tiffy is just a star waiting to blow up. Priest vs Rollins- Rollins wins after Judgment Day shenanigans Sami vs Breakker- Lowkey the match I'm most excited for. Breakker is a special talent and Sami can really elevate him here. Hoping for a Breakker win. Maybe demolishes Sami so bad he gets a count-out win. Legacy/Bloodline: Don't this this one ends clean at all. Hikuleo or some other shenanigans. Jaysin Posted July 7 Share Posted July 7 MITB thoughts, again, I don't watch weekly shows as much as I'd like and I avoid dirt sheets. Drew winning the MITB was annoying to me at first. I love Drew, but his character didn't need the W. Punk could have interfered here and cost Drew the case and someone could have really used the case to help their career. Punk and Drew didn't need the case to continue their feud. That said, still trying to come up with SummerSlam tickets, so excited at the thought of Drew vs Punk in Cleveland nonetheless. Sami and Breakker was good, but felt like it needed a little bit more room to breathe in my opinion. I love the PLE format of 5ish matches, but the main event felt too long and the IC title match felt too short for me. Priest vs Rollins was middle of the road for me. Rollins in the title picture doesn't intrigue me anymore, so hoping they don't walk back on him not being able to challenge Priest. Really hoping for Finn vs Priest at SummerSlam. Finn's facial expressions in JD segments are outstanding imo. Tiffany winning the MITB was great, but she shared a video on social media where the video referred to Jade Cargill as a slur, so hoping that wasn't something in line with her normal outside of the ring personality. Racism is lame. Despite the main event's length, it didn't feel like it a main event to me. I love GoD, Solo, and Jacob, but this wasn't a good showcase for them. Not a bad match at all, just kind of there. I am a fan of everyone involved, but I guess I got myself excited at the idea of Hikuleo showing up that when he didn't, I was deflated a bit. Not a fan of Bron Breakker losing clean to Sami Zayn like that, I think they could have protected him a bit more. Wrestling-wise, jeez lol have we ever seen a PLE/PPV with that many things gone wrong? Women's ladder match was a botch-fest, luckily that Chelsea Green bump will be an highlight for the ages and I expect here to sell it like she paralyzed or what for some time lol. What happened in the WHC match? Seemed to me like Priest was waiting for something and didn't even remotely thought about kicking out. Major mistake there. Overall the entire Priest-Rollins bout seemed "meh" to me, like they had no chemistry at all. And finally Tonga Loa missing a low blow spot lmao first time I saw someone blew that. Underwhelming PLE overall imo, and again having two identical gimmick matches for men and women kinda downgrades the gimmick match itself.
