<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">NXT Review:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Paul Heyman</strong> - Scouting NXT to find a new Paul Heyman Guy! He even broke character for a moment to praise NXT. The crowd gave him some love.</p><p>

<strong>Axel vs Big E (IC Title)</strong> - This unnannounced match was a pleasant surprise. I like Big E as a babyface with the crowd behind him. DQ from Heyman when Big E was dominating Axel.</p><p>

<strong>Sami Zayn</strong> - He cut a solid promo backstage, challenging Cesaro to the much-anticipated 2-out-of-3 falls match. Cesaro accepted later on and Zayn ambushed him (see gif below).</p><p>

<strong>Ryan vs Dawson</strong> - Squash match despite interference from Amore & Cassidy. Ryan is a beast but he needs a decent oppponent.</p><p>

<strong>Paige vs Summer (Womens Title)</strong> - Summer injured Emma last week to take her #1 contender spot. Solid match. For someone who hasn't been wrestling long Summer has impressive technique and a good moveset. Emma attacked Summer after the match.</p><p>

<strong>AJ Lee</strong> - She was backstage deciding who to challenge next week for her Divas title when Bayley (excitable babyface stalker gimmick) hugged her and asked for a chance. AJ agreed but then Bayley said the "C" word. Ziggler is on NXT next week, too!</p><p>

<strong>Shield vs Graves, Neville & Woods</strong> - Good textbook tag match. The Shield dominated with the NXT team playing the resiliant underdogs. Graves took the brunt of the offense as he usually does, with Neville and Woods providing the flair. Woods got pinned after a buckle-bomb/spear combo.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Verdict:</strong></span> Quality show with little filler. The 3 important matches were given ample time, something the show struggles with sometimes. The 2 backstage promos with the gorgeous Renee Young were good. The use of main roster stars has been good this year but the title matches should be dropped soon as the results are predictable.</p><p> </p><p>

A great promo. Both men were entirely believable. Cena didn't slip into joke mode and managed to avoid too many cliches. Cena showed real emotion talking about the make a wish stuff. And Daniel Bryan's point about being more hungry because he's never held the wwe title also seemed very real. Bryan needed that for me. I found his comedy stuff with Kane and as an underdog character during his recent singles run excellent. But I was concerned he lacked the gravitas to be a proper champion but with his work on raw it said to me that he could carry the company. Perhaps not for an extended period, I don't think a long reign would feel right, but for a couple of months he would make a great champ.</div></blockquote><p> And it's perfect timing for him right now.. No matter he gets the belt or not he is the hottest thing going in wrestling that I know of at this moment. He has been built up to this for I think almost a year now, when the story was leaked. "Vince has BIG plans for LITTLE Daniel!" </p><p> </p><p> He's definitely the center piece right now. In an interview I read with HHH, he said something about passing the torch (Cena passing to Bryan). I think he was just saying that as a way to get more people interested in it, but at the same time he mentioned how things change back and forth from the huge charismatic entertainer types to the in ring professionals, mentioning Hogan and Hart as examples. He goes on to say that the thing about Bryan is that he's both... Charismatic and entertaining, as well as being the best in ring worker they have.</p><p> </p><p> I'll tell you what impressed me more about Bryan then anything Panix. All that stuff you mentioned, the comedy and such.... More times then not Bryan was able to keep a straight face, even in the funniest of segments. He smiled often enough, but it was while screwing Kane and then acting like it was all just an accident later.</p>

Caught RAW really late this week, just yesterday, and as already been mentioned, Miz TV segment was awesome. Although I'm getting worried about the Special Referee thing. They need to be careful not to let the HHH/McMahon storyline take over too much that it might overshadow the Cena/Bryan match. So far it's working fine, with McMahon's stereotypical image (that he loves big jacked guys, discriminates against small indy/non-homegrown talents, etc) providing a good foil for Bryan's character, but there's a line they have to look out for in case they step over it. I don't really think the match needs a special referee. I'm also worried about the Summerslam Main Event turning into one big overbooked angle focused on Vince trying to screw Bryan and HHH countering his attempts.

One thing I like about the Battle Royal after the ending: usually when a defeated wrestler gets into the ring while the winner is celebrating, the crowd gets excited to see whether he attacks or gives him a handshake. But when Henry got into the ring it was literally silence descending and you can almost feel the crowd going "Oh ****, what's he going to do to Van Dam?", kind of like the moment in a good horror movie right before the victim opens the door where the monster/serial killer/some other spooks is presumably waiting behind and the audience just watch with their breaths held preparing for the scream. Good moment, even if one can see the friendly fist-bump coming.

Thinking about it, you're absolutely right. That was a very well executed little angle they pulled there.

If they had promoted Wrestlemania with these type of feuds (like the 2 big ones) they would have had much more buys. This is a good card, with the 2 main storylines being promoted in an excelente way, which is more than enough to sell the PPV, since the rest of the card supports it. As for Punk-Lesnar and Cena-Bryan, it's anybody's ball game at this point. Especially on the Bryan-Cena match, that has a "zillion" of possibilities to end it. This has been a good ride, and the WWE has definitely improved it's product. Let's hope they can keep doing so. And even though TNA still has better wrestling matches on their TV show than WWE's average, WWE is also improving on that. I will definitely be watching Summerslam.

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Smackdown Review:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Wyatt Family</strong> - Story Time followed by a teaser for the SS match. Great opening.</p><p>

<strong>Sandow vs Christian</strong> - Good match. Both guys tried to outsmart each other. Sandow was booked strong. Christian looked good but the roll-up shouldn't be his primary finisher.</p><p>

<strong>Kaitlyn & Natalya vs AJ & Layla</strong> - Solid divas match. What is this, NXT?</p><p>

<strong>Ryback</strong> - They should just have him bully people backstage until they learn how to book him equally as good in matches.</p><p>

<strong>Shield vs RVD, Henry & Show</strong> - Good match. Even better with RVD pinning Ambrose.</p><p>

<strong>Miz vs Swagger</strong> - Zeb going in on Miz and Hollywood. Decent match although Miz only won because he's the host of SS.</p><p>

<strong>Ryder vs Axel</strong> - Good to see Ryder but he needs a new gimmick to make him stand out.</p><p>

<strong>Bryan vs Barrett (No DQ)</strong> - Great brutal match. Even the stuff with Clown Suit Vince, Maddox and HHH was fun. It's nice to see Barrett get a push.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Verdict:</span></strong> Brilliant show heading into SummerSlam. Not much filler and all the matches were worth watching.</p>

I'm surprised that the announcers haven't brought up the fact that Christian won his first World Title by defeating Del Rio (or if they did I totally missed it). That can add on to the idea that Christian is the one guy who seemingly has Del Rio's number every time, given he's also beaten him 2 consecutive times recently.

Looks like I'm going to be watching the show live tonight... time for predictions. :D

PRE-SHOW: Dean Ambrose © vs Rob van Dam for the US title

Natalya vs Brie Bella

Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs Big E. Langston & AJ Lee

Kane vs Bray Wyatt in a Ring Of Fire match

CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar

Christian vs Alberto Del Rio © for the World Heavyweight title

John Cena © vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE title

I don't have a huge amount of time to go into detail on the picks, but I'm going this way for now. I don't see the US title changing hands on the pre-show and I just noticed the main show only has two title matches on it... that's a bit lame for the champions on the roster but I suppose it's leading to Night Of Champions next, so they'll all be there for that.

I think Lesnar has to beat Punk to keep the storyline going and I'm hoping to see some awesomeness from them. I love watching Lesnar destroy people so I'm hoping to see some serious destruction in this match before Punk makes an awesome comeback only to be screwed by Heyman... I could see Lesnar getting pissed about needing help to win, leading to epic rematch down the line again.

I can't see Christian winning the title tonight, or ever again to be honest. As much as I love the guy he has always felt to me like the guy who is above average at everything but not awesome at anything. I'm pretty sure it'll be a good fun match but I expect Del Rio to retain going forward, though I'm not sure who his next challenger will be. Posisly Mark Henry if he's not too involved in Shield business?

And lastly, the main event... in my dreams, Bryan makes Cena tap out to win the title fair and square... only for Orton to be a total dick, cashing in the Money in the Bank on him immediately. I've heard lots of possible rumours for things that could happen here, but I would go absolutely nuts for Bryan then beating Orton too... the most sympathetic guy in recent years in the WWE beating two of their biggest guys in one night would be awesome. But to be honest,I'd also love to see Orton beat Bryan if he cashed in because a heel Orton (he'd have to turn if he does that to Bryan) is gold, and there is an imbalance on the roster towards babyfaces just now. It almost feels like the WWE is deliberately stacking the number of good guys to excess so that whoever turns heel will have a huge number of potential people to deal with. Could be fun. :D

Looks like it should be a fun show, I know I'm gonna be glued to the TV when the main event is on. Could be some magic tonight. :D

PRE-SHOW: Dean Ambrose © vs Rob van Dam for the US title

DQ leading to Show, Henry, RVD vs The Shield

Natalya vs Brie Bella

Bellas are considered the top divas by WWE apparently.

Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow

Sandow needs more heel heat while Rhodes needs more sympathy so briefcase to the face for the victory.

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs Big E. Langston & AJ Lee

Kaitlyn has lost two title matches in a row and AJ

s title isn't on the line.

Kane vs Bray Wyatt in a Ring Of Fire match

Wyatt losing doesn't make sense push wise

CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar

Lesnar loses and we get a rematch.

Christian vs Alberto Del Rio © for the World Heavyweight title

ADR just won the title back and Christian is an upper midcard guys at this point.

John Cena © vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE title

Cena's elbow is fudged up so I expect the Bryan win followed by Orton cash in. This feud could carry the WWE for the next few months.

If Orton faces Bryan in the next few months then I would enjoy seeing Orton punt Bryan keeping him away for a couple of months and allowing Ziggler to challenge unsuccessfully for the WWE championship. Then you can have Bryan return and depending on when Cena's back turn it into a triple threat feud for another 2 months before removing Cena into a taker feud or something as big. Orton series with Christian was great but Daniel Bryan is a way better worker than Christian and the emotional investment in the feud would be bigger following the cash in.

I am likely to be 100% correct :p

PRE-SHOW: Dean Ambrose © vs Rob van Dam for the US title

Expect a brawl ending up in Show/Henry vs R&R for the titles

Natalya vs Brie Bella

Smart money says go for the one who consistently loses on TV

Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow

Cody wins to knock Sandow down a peg and eventually set up a match for the case that Sandow wins

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs Big E. Langston & AJ Lee

Dolph is too over and too talented to be wasted like this, but the story is necessary. He wins to move on while it keeps Kaitlyn as a contender despite tapping every week.

Kane vs Bray Wyatt in a Ring Of Fire match

Kane has always done good business with young talent, and I believe he will be filming a movie soon

CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar

Punk is beaten to the point of no return but refuses to give up, he loses only due to ref stoppage

Christian vs Alberto Del Rio © for the World Heavyweight title

ADR has been better this time around as a heel and Christian beat him twice, no way Christian wins, please retire guy

John Cena © vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE title

The cash in is a bluff, no idiot in their right mind would keep reminding that he will cash in so the champ can be ready. Cena wins when Cena taps while HHH is KO'd and Cena wins by AA after Bryan wakes up HHH. Orton will cash in on Raw

PRE-SHOW: Dean Ambrose ©vs Rob Van Dam for the US title

RVD wins by DQ, leading to Mark Henry and Big Show vs Rollins and Reigns for the tag titles

Natalya vs Brie Bella

Nattie needs a push...

Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow

Sandow is Mr Money in the Bank. Cody is barely a babyface.

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs Big E. Langston & AJ Lee

Ziggler just should win everything.

Kane vs Bray Wyatt in a Ring Of Fire match

I'm expecting the Wyatt family to come through the ring or from the rafters some how. Then we don't see Kane for awhile since he's filming See No Evil 2.

CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar

Purely who I like more. Plus everyone says Lesnar is disappearing again

Christian vs Alberto Del Rio © for the World Heavyweight title

Christian is more entertaining than Del Rio. So another one just who I like more.

Henry/Show vs The Shield©

Shield retain.

John Cena © vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE title

D-Bry winning just makes sense.

PRE-SHOW: Dean Ambrose © vs Rob van Dam for the US title

Shield in a bit of limbo but I think Ambrose retains probably by interference. Think RVD is set for a World Title feud.

Natalya vs Brie Bella

Struggling to care :p but I'd rather they gave Natalya the win.

Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow

Seems logical.

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs Big E. Langston & AJ Lee

Ziggler over Big E. Probable singles match between the 2 at the next PPV.

Kane vs Bray Wyatt in a Ring Of Fire match

Easiest call, Wyatt losing on his debut would be bizarre.

CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar

Lesnar wins, rematch somewhere down the line.

Christian vs Alberto Del Rio © for the World Heavyweight title

I'd love Christian to win but I really don't see it.

John Cena © vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE title

Bryan wins, uncertain of whether there'll be shenanigans but I think they give him the belt. Predicting no Orton cash in as it seems too obvious, could definitely see it happening tomorrow night though.

<p>PRE-SHOW: Dean Ambrose © vs Rob van Dam for the US title</p><p>

Dean Ambrose retains, RVD could win but there is no reason for him to do so because of his contract type. He needs to help build younger guys while they have him.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Natalya</strong> vs Brie Bella</p><p>

I really don't care about this match at all but I hope Natalya wins.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cody Rhodes</strong> vs Damien Sandow</p><p>

Cody wins which will set up a match for the Case at Night Of Champions, which I also see Rhodes winning but who knows. When Sandow won the breifcase last month I read something that said that even though he won he won't be the one to cash it in and that Cody will likely recieve those honors.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn</strong> vs Big E. Langston & AJ Lee</p><p>

My gut says that Kaitlyn pins AJ to win the match and get a title shot at Night Of Champions for the Diva's Title. Meanwhile Ziggler and Langston can continue their feud without Kaitlyn and AJ.</p><p> </p><p>

Kane vs <strong>Bray Wyatt</strong> in a Ring Of Fire match</p><p>

It's his debut he has to win. BTW the stipulation for this match is stupid for those of you who don't know it's essentially an inferno match but instead of winning by setting your opponent on fire you win by pinfall or submission. So really the Ring Of Fire stipulation isn't needed at all.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CM Punk</strong> vs Brock Lesnar</p><p>

Rematch at either Survivor Series or The Royal Rumble. They can keep this storyline going without Lesnar on TV.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Christian</strong> vs Alberto Del Rio © for the World Heavyweight title</p><p>

I really hope Christian wins this match and gets a decent run with the title this time.</p><p> </p><p>

John Cena © vs <strong>Daniel Bryan</strong> for the WWE title</p><p>

I fully expect Bryan to win the title since Cena is injured. What Bryan said at the end of RAW really hit home for me as well as a lot of people I think when he said that he just wants to hold the title once.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm still not sure if We have an Orton Cash In Or not I would say no since he said that nobody will see his cash in coming.</p>
