Their names are Dolph Ziggler and the Big Show, and just like the Scarecrow and the Tin Man, they got completely dismantled by the Winged Monkeys (the Shield) for their troubles. And the Cowardly Lion (Mark Henry) only helped after the cameras stopped rolling, because he's Cowardly. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

If the entire roster had stormed the ring and taken out the heels, it would be more like the kingdom of the Winkies rising up and overthrowing the Wicked Witch by themselves and rescuing Dorothy from her instead of vice versa. In that case, Bryan won't be the hero, the knight in shiny armour, he'd just be the damsel in distress.

I saw that you were upset about Dolph Ziggler not being the man to put a stop to the heels, but remember that the hero of the story is supposed to be Bryan, not Dolph. Dolph isn't Dorothy, he's more like the Scarecrow, the hero/heroine's companion, therefore his place is to get dismantled by the evil lackeys so that Dorothy can save the day later.

It'll be completely unrealistic for majority of those guys standing at the ramp to just throw away their job because they were asked to watch someone getting bullied, which doesn't cost them anything. They weren't told to get down on their knees and kiss the boss' ass like Big Show was forced to 2 years ago (and nobody came to his help then either, I might point out); they weren't even forced to pay their respects to the new champion Orton, they were just there as an audience. What happens in the ring is no different from any underdog vs Authority story that we've seen many times before, and just like in most of those cases, the underdog is expected to fight his own battles, not to have the rest of the roster save him and make HIM look like a pansy.

What's it about watching the scene from the entrance that makes this situation so different from all those other storylines of big bullying stables? If the guys were watching backstage on the monitors and still chose not to come out and help, they'd still be doing something against the spirit of the anti-bullying campaign. Being at the entrance doesn't make a difference.

If you're not going to fight for your dignity, what are you going to fight for?

Oh, I don't know......the ability to continue earning a living for those who might depend on you? If Kofi Kingston, who just had a newborn daughter and probably needs all the income he can get, is going to throw all that away because his boss was bullying some guy that his wife and kids probably didn't even know, how the hell do you expect him to explain that to his family?

Heck, we even have a real life example. How long did Mick Foley "quit" the WWE for his "dignity" after watching Bret Hart get screwed? How many guys really quit for real after witnessing this injustice? A grand total of one! At the end of the day, providing for their family is what ultimately matters to the wrestlers. It's far more realistic that seeing the entire roster walking out, which was never going to happen in RL.

I don't expect bullying to be gone. I do expect a bunch of grown men who travel the country preaching standing up for what is right to stand up for what is right. Not doing anything basically tells kids they've been lying, and standing up to bullies is a bad idea. It's just going to end worse for you.

Oh, come on now, are you saying that if an actor or movie star were to get involved in an Anti-Bullying campaign like this, they should never, ever play an onscreen character that does something against the spirit of the campaign? Remember, MARK HENRY was one of the speakers during the campaign, and that was back when his character was basically a bully onscreen. Did any kid call him out for being a liar? Give the kids some credit, they can tell the difference between the two and understand that what the wrestlers do onscreen do NOT represent what the actual message that the performers are trying to send. As long as the bullies do eventually get their comeuppance at the end, the right message is being sent.

Besides, a kid reading The Hobbit isn't going to go "BOO! This random dwarf didn't stand up against the big bullying dragon!", all he cares about is that the hero, the hobbit himself, DID stand up against the dragon. Likewise, kids watching RAW isn't going to care that Yoshi Tatsu wasn't standing up against the heels, all he's going to think is that Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler are cool for daring to do what no one else dare to do by defying the authority. The hero of the story is supposed to be the role model here, not the random mooks standing watching by the side. Stone Cold wouldn't be the star that he is if everyone else on the roster were sticking it to the boss like he was.

You don't know how things are going to go down?

Bryan wins the belt at Survivor Series. Orton wins the belt back at Royal Rumble. The rumble then becomes a battle to see who takes on Orton at Mania to finally put an end to this stable. Cena makes a huge return during it, wins it, and goes on to defeat Orton at Mania to become champion yet again and ensure the world knows that only he can stop fore... er, defeat evil.

Like I said, you can be skeptical about the future of the storyline, I already said there's nothing wrong with that. I personally won't be surprised if the WWE does screw this up, but as it is, I don't see anything wrong with what happened last Monday night yet.

As far as the divas are concerned, the quality is going down every year. I saw some good things from AJ & Naomie on neXt, but I don't see it now. The segments featuring the divas were the most annoying thing on Summerslam. I should've skipped them.

Giving them time to work matches now would probably be a bad idea.

AJ is by far the best thing to happen to the divas division in over five years. She is the only one people actually care about since Mickie James. Of course trying to stimulate interest in a feud that is obviously a promotional tool for the other tv show is a waste of time (for the raw audience/most people) but you can't argue with the results since people watch the show.

I really would like them to put the time and effort in with the divas.

They could get rid of Aksana, Alicia Fox and The Bella's. Bring back Beth Phoenix, Mickie James and Kharma and bring through Paige and in 9 months or so you've got a really strong division imo.

AJ

Kaitlyn

Natalya

Layla

Tamina

Naomi

Cameron

Beth Phoenix

Mickie James

Kharma

Paige

It would take time, but if they put the effort in, that group could give us something really interesting. Obviously it would also depend on being able to bring in Beth and Mickie but it would be good if done properly.

However I do like how they paired Summer with Fandango in order to give her more screentime with more popular people. AJ got over because she was treated as an important character to the guys in the roster first with Daniel Bryan and The Big Show, then with Punk and Kane followed by the GM stint and both Cena (which was really awkward) and Ziggler who she had great chemistry with.

It's just that if the girls are not doing anything important in the future why not allow them to enhance another character as eye candy. It doesn't hurt the guy and the girls are actually doing something.

Completely out of topic (I really didn't know where to put this question, but cause its related to RAW), somebody has the exact date when Vince Russo was promoted as the head writer for RAW? I know is somewhere between 97, cause before he was on the magazine or in the committee.

I really want to know what was the first RAW that he wrote.

NXT (Ole Ole Ole Edition) Review:

CJ Parker vs Breeze - Two over-the-top gimmicks but only one is clicking. Inventive finish from Breeze hitting Parker in the face with his selfie phone. The "Breeze is gorgeous" chant was funny.

Emma vs Summer - A bit scrappy at times but I liked the focus on submissions (including the Lotus Lock from Summer). Emma wins but Summer throws her bubble solution in her eyes, further cementing her place as the top female heel on NXT.

Amore vs Dawson - Both heels, but Amore gets a big face reaction because of his mic work. Dawson is a solid wrestler but he's bland and needs a better manager/valet.

Sami Zayn - The 2/3 falls match with Cesaro got such good buzz they replayed the highlights. Renee interviewed Zayn in the ring (A+ for their chemistry). After Zayn said he was going after the NXT Title, Bo Dallas crashed the interview to run his mouth. Then Zeb came out to threaten Zayn and Swagger ambushed him. Good work from everyone involved in the segment.

Neville vs O'Brian - The Ascension attacked Graves backstage, kicking off this feud. Speed vs brute force. Decent match. Neville surprisingly won but Ascension beat down Neville and Graves.

Verdict: A letdown after last week's memorable show but still highly watchable. I enjoyed the divas match the most. The segment with Zayn, Dallas, Zeb & Swagger was great. Sami Zayn is one of the most likeable babyfaces in recent years. Summer Rae has really impressed me, too.

I say Sami has a kind of humble realistic charm that makes you like him. So far he hasn't whined or try to mock a heel. He is acts like a babyface should challenging those who hurt him and admitting defeat once he loses. plus his calm demeanor is just cool and the flirting with Renee really looks organic.

HHH gets heat as the evil dictator, Orton as the boss' chosen champion. Big Show, Ziggler and Miz get sympathy as good guys who don't like the way things are going but fear for their livelihood, and Bryan continues to earn respect from the fans as the rebel who will stand up to the boss despite everything. This is great storytelling, in my opinion, and this storyline has me so interested that I watched Smackdown back-to-back weeks for the first time in at least a year.

I think I even saw a hint of a Bray Wyatt face from Bo.

Pretty weak main event, as I really don't care about Corey Graves or the Ascension much. Neville is cool, but I wonder if NXT is his ceiling, as WWE hasn't really shown an ability to do much with guys that work his style.

Watched this weeks smackdown and I have to say that Orton is killing it as a heel - the guy looks rejuvenated. He's animated, aggressive - turning in his best performances for a long time. This should have happened earlier, but i'm glad heel Orton is finally here. Was also pretty impressed with Big Show's acting, yes he bordering on hammy at times, but all-in-all I would say he exceeded my expectations.

Smackdown (No! Edition) Review:

Miz TV - Started awkward but ended up fun when HHH came out to troll Miz, Ziggler & Show.

Miz vs Orton - Good match. The crowd got behind Miz when he got the upperhand, before the Shield came out. Luckily they let Orton finish the job so he didn't look weak, and it was a 50/50 match. I haven't enjoyed watching Miz this much in a long time. HHH making Show sit ringside the rest of the night was good.

RVD vs Sandow - Short but fun match with RVD going over.

The Shield vs Ziggler - Dolph was impressive but he had no chance of winning. Show looked ready to explode as the Shield tried to goad him into interfering.

Heyman/Axel - Heyman delivered his usual ace promo to hype up the NOC match against Punk.

Tons of Funk vs Wyatt Family - A squash match but at least the Wyatt's won against physically impressive opponents.

Ryback vs Bryan - Set up by Vicki after she accused Bryan of bullying the Shield earlier. Good match with a vocal crowd. Kitchen sink finish with Orton, the Shield and Show all getting in the ring. HHH forcing a distraught Show to walk away so Bryan could take a beating was intense. Orton spray-painting "NO" on Bryan's chest was great.

Verdict: Good show from start to finish. The Corporation storyline was in full force and much more focused given the shorter running time of SD. MVP goes to Big Show for his great ringside work.

I am wondering if I was the only one who thought that when Orton grabbed a can of black spraypaint and sprayed No on him that he was going to spray NWO on him? I know that on twitter I wasn't the only one that had that thought as I saw numerous tweets saying that they forgot the W but I thought it was a nice touch. But I am wondering if anyone else thought that when he first sprayed an N on Bryan's chest that it was going to say NWO and not No?
