reply is a spoiler

It will surely be immortal. People will remember that horrid looking thing right up there with the spinner belt.

Also, from the picture:

if Eric is doing what i think he's doing, which appears to be dropping the old heavy weight belt into the trash can, TNA is a bunch of morons. Not only are you going to debut a new belt that makes the spinner belt look like a great art work, but your going to toss your own belt in the trash?

Not only is that idea another old and tired WCW moment, it's stupid to devalue your own title that way. The same effect could be achieved by saying they had decommissioned the belt/retired it ect without the video that will live on for all time of your world title going in a trash can

HAHAHAHA only TNA would throw their OWN title in the trash can.

That ladies and gentlemen is the difference between Vince McMahon and TNA. Vince doesn't allow anything that has the WWE brand on it to be tarnished what so ever.

Meanwhile Eric is yet again just trying to recreate something you can't recreate. Everything that made the original belt in the trash iconic doesn't apply here.

Maybe there is the slight off chance that their debuting a new belt, getting rid of the old one and there is a trash can in the ring. MAYBE its all a big coincidence but if not I dare people to say that Eric and company aren't just trying to recreate 1995-1998 all over again.

I'll wait to see whats going to happen but if they do indeed throw their own world championship in the trash on naitional television I would love for someone, anyone to come in here and defend that action as A something that isn't a complete rip off of a WCW moment and B something that is completely and utterly stupid.

When I stopped watching after BFG part of me wondered if I didn't give this thing ample time, if they throw this thing in the trash like it appears their doing even if its not a permanent trashing or whatever. Even if someone pulls it out of the trash if that belt hits the trash it may be the lowest moment ever in TNA's bumbling history trashing their OWN championship.

Ya know this thread is pretty depressing.

Is it a rip off of a WCW angle? Yes. Was that angle ~15 years ago? Yes. Had it been done before WCW did it? Yes. Did WWE do it even after WCW did it? Yes. Is it completely and utterly stupid? Not in my eyes. Immortal is out to destroy TNA, what better way than to throw out it's title and replace it with one of their own? It's the ultimate affront to TNA. It's an angle. I don't see how this reflects on TNA's view of the World Title at all. It reflects on what IMMORTAL thinks of the title. It's part of a storyline. Unlike when WCW did it when it wasn't part of the story it was a 100% shoot.

This isn't like putting the title on a movie actor for chrissakes. A heel authority throwing the world title in the trash in place of a new title made specially for the heel authority's hand picked champion is not the lowest point in TNA's history. Nor do I think it's as awful as you're making it out to be.

I feel like I'm the only person in the world that still enjoys TNA. They make a lot of mistakes but jesus christ stop acting like TNA is an affront to pro wrestling. If it's so damn bad why are you wasting your life bitching about it non stop? When Steve Austin threw the IC title off a bridge did it all the sudden stop holding any and all meaning?

I don't know why I even bother defending anything TNA does. Nor do I know why you spend so much time bashing everything they do. Why would anyone use so much of their free time specifically on hating something? Stop watching and stop talking about it if you think it's so bloody awful. Don't make people who actually want to talk about TNA--without declaring them the apocolypse of pro wrestling--wade through pages of endless complaints.

This thread has become a never ending stream of bitching since BFG. I feel like I'm reading youtube comments. Well written, but the same sentiments and complaints.

I don't even like TNA as much as this post sounds. I've watched only a few Impacts in the last few months. But Jesus anytime they hold a show its 80% complaints.

Maybe it's because I look at wrestling like I would any other television show. Yes, they do the same stuff other shows did before. Yes, they do some idiotic things and storylines go absolutely no where. But hell the biggest US television show of our generation, Lost, had it's finale and they didn't answer half the questions they themselves raised. And people loved it!

The IWC seem to hold wrestling to such a high standard these days. Wrestling isn't there to impress you, it's there to entertain you. If it doesn't entertain you, turn it off and stop complaining. I absolutely hate Two and a Half Men. I don't go on Two and a Half Men message boards and write on how I think Charlie Sheen is misused and how the pathetically thin storylines (even for a sitcom) are riddled full of holes a 6 year old could find. I just don't watch the show.

I may have (definitely) gone a bit overboard with my statements but tonight sucked and I read the Impact spoilers and actually liked what I saw. (The faces never ever getting revenge talk has been gravely over-exaggerated. Especially when you consider that those complaints were raised a MONTH into the storyline and the comparisons drawn were to a storyline that went on for YEARS. Knowing the IWC even the manner in which the faces got a measure of revenge won't be good enough.) I come here and read that TNA has bottomed out and that it's world title has lost all meaning because of one angle in the storyline. I'm just peeved at the world. If you want to ignore my intoxicated rambling, be my guest.

I won't speak for anyone but myself, but I bitch about TNA for one simple reason - I want to see them succeed. I love the potential they have, I love some of the talent they have, and I feel they could be turned into a fantastic wrestling promotion that might never truly compete against the WWE but at least would provide fantastic wrestling action. I want to see them become that. So it is incredibly frustrating when I see them make endless mistakes and instead of trying to anything fresh - or even attempting to make something that's redone but in a fresh way - they seem intent on redoing the past as closely as they possibly can.

I fully realize and accept that my concept of what would make TNA better might differ significantly from the next fan. That what they are currently offering might be more than great to some. That's fine. After a time, one simply gets frustrated with seeing the same issues continue endlessly.

You see it as some of us holding TNA to an unreasonable standard. I don't see it that way at all. I don't think the WWE or ROH are anywhere near perfect, but I enjoy both because they frustrate me less. Far less. I see the complaints about TNA rather as a fans being unwilling to accept mediocrity. I wouldn't be happy if my favorite TV show stopped trying and just redid storylines and character arcs from a few seasons ago. I wouldn't accept my favorite writer half-assing their way through a few books. That's the kind of lack that I see TNA putting forward, and it hasn't really changed in over 2 years of watching regularly. I am simply tired of TNA being mediocre and I've stopped watching. It doesn't mean I've stopped wanting to see them succeed or "improve", however.

Go back two pages and you'll find my post. If you're actually reading each page as you claim, then you'll know I've professed a liking of current TNA product. I am however, furious that they would do such a thing as throw their championship in the trash. What purpose does that serve, other than denigrate those who won it? Why not simply announce the belt change and produce the new one, rather than doing a disservice to the old?

the problem is, if it is as we suspect, what happens when a baby face wins the title from hardy?

does he go fetch the old belt out of a trash can? or does he have to use that new monstrosity?

It shows no foresight, the effect of Immortal tearing down TNA's belt could have been done without throwing it in a freaking garbage can and gotten the same effect. now your world title is forever immortalized as the trash can championship.

It's another short sighted move by bish/hogan, and more evidence they are convinced people want to see WcW part deus.

mabey some do, for me alot of what they are recycling right now is the same tired stuff that made me quit watching towards the end of WCW's run.

<p>Everybody ready for Easy E Version 2.0????</p><p> </p><p>

He has been crash course in ref'n by Jamie and is currently being trained as a worker by Knobbs and company. I wish him luck, went out drinking with him couple weeks ago and he is an alright kid. Being Bischoff son though is gonna make it tough in this biz... or easy depending. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Short term, very easy to say the least.</p>

<p>Real son or kayfabe son? And are they gonna involve Dinsmore?</p><p> </p><p>

PS agree with Papa plus as I have said TNA has a LOT of good things IF they would just cut out the crap and let it shine I would enjoy it more and many others would too and they would be in a better position to grow imho. I am just not waiting till they cut it out I will come back when they think they actually have.</p>

<p>Just checked EB's wiki spoiler: <span style="color:#FFFFFF;"> he was the ref in the Hardy Morgan Match eh?</span> Nothing against him personally but this is a dumb move, it reeks of Horace Hogan and Dinsmore. Not a good thing. </p><p> </p><p>

Still if you befriend him he could be a really good source of inside info. Maybe steer him too this site if he has free time as there are really a lot of good ideas and suggestions on here. Would love to know what he thinks of some of it seeing as he should supposedly be an "insider".</p>

I don't like the idea of trashing the World Title but they do it for 1 thing. To draw heat on the heels. Basically the heel group has taken over and is personalizing everything including the belt. So maybe in a few months when a face stables comes up representing TNA they can restore everything back to normal and how it should be. THAT would then make everyone happy that this Bisch Hogan thing is over with.

<p>If everyone knows how to book a better show than TNA why don't people open up a wrestling company and do it? Or why not try to get into the business somehow?</p><p> </p><p>

There have always been a lot of people that give negative feedback on TNA. WWE was the same way but now people refer to those days as when those companies were good.</p><p> </p><p>

By now you all know what to expect with all of these companies. You know if it is going to dissappoint you. So why let it bother you? Why not appreciate it for what it is?</p><p> </p><p>

I don't get really upset over too much in wrestling. Wrestling entertains me and I always know that this weeks events will lead into something next week. Maybe some things are a rehash of the past but maybe when it happened before the booker saw that and figured it could be better if done a different way. Or maybe he just liked it so much he wanted to do his own spin on it.</p><p> </p><p>

I will watch TNA until they aren't on TV anymore. Same with WWE because I love wrestling. Sure I may want different results and I may want some guys to become main event guys that aren't. I am a die hard wrestling fan though and I probably represent a rarity.</p>

<p>I wanted TNA to succeed because I like Pope, Anderson, Desmond Wolfe, Kurt Angles, Beer Money, AJ Styles, Jay Lethal, etc. I wanted to the WWE to succeed as well. </p><p> </p><p>

Someone pointed out earlier when you tune into the WWE you know EXACTLY what their product is and what you're going to get from them. When you tune into TNA you have no idea what you're going to get. They start and stop pushes, they bounce back and forth on turns constantly. One minute their sports entertainment, the next their wrestling, etc. </p><p> </p><p>

I realize that some people will watch this company until the day Bob Carter pulls the plug on it. Just like I will harp on them for bringing Bischoff and Hogan in only to re do the only few storylines that were remotely memorable. </p><p> </p><p>

When people talk about this angle their saying "well maybe Foley or some babyface will DIG THE TITLE OUT OF THE TRASH" that was exactly word for word what some people are saying. Repeat that over to yourself over and over again. Dig it out of the trash? Really? Come on there can't be anybody on here that doesn't see the problem with that statement. </p><p> </p><p>

The same thing could have been done by just declaring Jeff Hardy the Immortal Heavyweight Champion and a new belt. I won't get into it all again but in no way shape or form would you want to trash your world title on national t.v</p>

Is he one of AJ's best friends or is he a virtually uncontrollable savage and the lead solider in a badly undermanned Nation of Violence? Is he face or heel? TNA just makes it impossible for me to emotionally invest in any storyline or character. As standlone shows, they can pump out some decent stuff and keep me entertained, but the swerves, the lack of focus, the non-sensical booking and abrupt termination of plotlines... it's too much and it's too hard to keep caring for any period of time. The Sting and Fortune swerves were typical examples. It doesn't feel like clever booking where I was subtley deceived, it just sends me a message to pretty much disregard most of what I watch.</p><p> </p><p> There are elements of the Immortals storyline I like and I can forgive the NWO comparisons to a point, but right now, the heel domination is making for some really poor shows. Perhaps if there was a strong X-Division or a strong midcard feud that didn't involve Immortals, then that would help fill the gap. Instead though, it's stacked matches, cheap finishes, mass beatdowns at every turn. It's a bit overwhelming. I sat watching Impact with the missus the other week who's a casual fan and her comment by the main event was "can we have a proper match please" - to which I corrected her, we had seen Robbie E defeat Amazing Red about an hour and half ago.</p><p> </p><p> I'd like to be more positive about TNA long term, but it just doesn't show any signs or either changing or wanting to change.</p>

<p>I just read that TNA has parted ways with Eric Young. TNA offered him a significant pay cut compared to what he was making and he declined it. I personally hope he winds up in the WWE. I know he won't get pushed and he might get regulated to Superstars but Eric has the tools to fit that company.</p>
