Starting a TNA game July 2011 using MCD. On June 17,2011 (month earlier then the real CM Punk contract expiring) i signed CM Punk going to have him feud with Kurt Angle.

My main event for TNA Destination X is Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels. My User character is myself who will be the rep. for the network my first duty was suspending Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan (6 month vacation). My character is tweener. I'm trying to hire Trish Stratus who I will put in charge of the KOs and feud with Madison. Got Mickie invovled with Velvet in a storyline close to Sting vs AJ pass the torch but the end result will be Mickie turning heel.

Heading into the buildup to Malice in Wonderland 2011, and things are looking highly combustible in TCW with a number of factions vying for power. Commissioner Eric Tyler is certain to have his hands full over the coming weeks and months. Here’s a synopsis of some of the biggest stories currently developing in the company. Sorry for the length, but, as you can probably tell, I'm really enjoying the way this game is going.

The Main Event

In news that is unlikely to surprise faithful TCW followers, Tommy Cornell is up to his old tricks again and is attempting to dominate the company by assembling a new Syndicate stable to run roughshod over the main event scene. Tommy’s right-hand-man and enforcer in this iteration is none other than Rick Law, and with Bryan Vessey and Aaron Andrews—frequently teaming together under the name Power Trip—both lending their considerable talents to the group, the New Syndicate is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Not everyone in TCW is content, however, to exist under the thumb of Cornell and the Syndicate. An elite coalition of four former world champions from across the wrestling world has emerged in recent months, and these men have made it their business to oppose the Syndicate wherever possible. Led by iconic superstar Jack Bruce, who made his shocking return to the company that made him a star early in the summer of 2010, this alliance also features the fantastic power of Rocky Golden, the incomparable toughness of Steve Frehley, and the superior skill of Antonio Marquez.

Another formidable thorn in the new Syndicate’s side is none other than former Cornell protégé Wolf Hawkins. Since being shockingly (and forcibly) expelled from the Syndicate in September in favor of Vessey favorite Aaron Andrews, Hawkins has been single-minded in his pursuit of violent revenge against his former allies. But with few friends, and no one to back him up, the youngster is in danger of being caught up in a stable-war numbers game that he just can’t win.

And all of this is not to mention the ultimate wild card, the man whose unique combination of skill, cunning, and ruthlessness has propelled him to the absolute apex of the wrestling world, World Heavyweight Champion Troy Tornado. Accompanied only by his (highly paid) henchman Charlie Thatcher, Tornado has shown a knack for skillfully playing his myriad enemies against one another in the interest of maintaining his vice-like grip on the most coveted title in the wrestling universe. Since winning the belt from Rocky Golden in an epic four corners match (also featuring Jack Bruce and Tommy Cornell) at Hotter Than Hell in August, the Champion has seen off all challengers. But the hatred he shares with Bruce, who made his TCW re-debut by defeating Tornado at Total Mayhem XIV and has been agitating loudly for a title shot, is now threatening to explode into all-out warfare. And with so many other elite superstars having their eyes on the belt, life does not look to be getting any easier for the World Champion. Will Tornado continue to be able to use the tensions between his various opponents to his advantage, or will one of the many deserving challengers rise above all distractions to claim the title for himself? Only time will tell . . .

Danger and Violence

Elsewhere, TCW has recently seen the resurfacing of a man well known to wrestling fans across North America for his violent tendencies: Nemesis! Unsurprisingly, the sadistic genius has wasted no time making an impact on the company. He’s introduced a massively powerful young newcomer known only as The Bouncer, and has guided this monstrous new charge on a rampage that has left nothing but destruction and carnage in its wake. And now it appears that Nemesis has his sights set on a dangerous opponent from his past, the psychotic Eddie Peak! Over the past year, Eddie has forged a relationship with the one man who may be dark enough to understand the depths of his depravity, the degenerate Sammy Bach—and the two have gone as far as winning the World Tag Team titles. In recent weeks, the pair has even somewhat surprisingly become fan favorites in TCW. But now their alliance may be tested as Peak has become a target for Nemesis and his deranged, seven-foot-tall follower. Can one ring contain the brutality that would undoubtedly erupt if Peak and The Bouncer, two of the most violently unstable individuals alive, were to come face-to-face? And where would Bach be in the event of such a confrontation?

New Blood Rising

Nemesis and The Bouncer aren’t the only newcomers making waves in TCW. In fact, 2010 has seen an unprecedented influx of new talent into the company—and these youngsters haven’t been content to just sit back and wait for an opportunity. The tag team scene has especially benefitted from TCW’s aggressive new hiring policy. The Cali Dragons of Mikey James and Frankie Perez, Natural Storm’s D.C. Rayne and Eddie Howard, The Mainstream Marksmen Kirk Jameson and James Hernandez, and the current World Tag Team Champions The Legacy, featuring Matthew and Gregory Keith (managed by their legendary father) have all exploded onto the scene over the past 11 months. And, although he may not technically be new blood, at least as impressive has been the impact made by the former Flyboy himself, James Prudence. Along with his friend and ally—the current International Champion Steven Parker—Prudence has made no secret of the fact that he has his sights set on getting to the top of the TCW heap.

But perhaps no one has been as outspokenly vocal about his desire to overturn the “old order” in TCW as Joey Minnesota. After suffering, along with his friend and mentor Ricky Dale Johnson, a series of high-profile defeats, Minnesota proclaimed himself the victim of an elaborate and powerful conspiracy in an infamous on-air interview in August of 2010. Claiming that he had been “held down” by backstage politics his entire career, Minnesota vowed to make it his mission in life to tear down the existing political power structure in TCW so that no other young wrestlers would have to suffer as he had. Calling himself “the greatest wrestler alive today” and promising TCW fans that they would have no choice but to cheer him, Minnesota went on to accuse his veteran partner Ricky Dale Johnson of secretly and jealously maneuvering against him behind the scenes in order to keep his own main event spot.

Unwilling to listen to his former partner’s protests, Minnesota returned to TCW in September with a stable of up-and-coming young wrestlers who had bought into his message and who recognized him as the greatest wrestler in the world. And thus, The Joey Minnesota Fan Club was born. The Fan Club, consisting of Lassana Makutsi, KC Glenn, and Jared Johnson, has made it its mission to refuse to be held down at all costs.

In the face of this influx of new blood, however, not all TCW veterans have been content to merely cede their spots in the company without a struggle. Behind the leadership of Harry Allen, a group of veteran loyalists calling itself The Originals has formed. Allen, along with such stalwarts as Chance Fortune, Clark Alexander, and “Giant” Tana Muliaina, has publically proclaimed that while they have no problem with young wrestlers competing to get ahead in TCW, they are not willing to stand by while these youngsters use superior numbers and underhanded tactics to gain victory.

Having placed himself and his group squarely in the path of the Joey Minnesota Fan Club (which has roundly denounced The Originals as an example of the worst kind of reactionary backstage politics), Allen has explicitly sought to recruit a powerful ally in Joey Minnesota’s former partner, former two-time World Champion Ricky Dale Johnson. Will RDJ step in to actively oppose his former partner? And what of other TCW veterans? Will The Machines, The New Wave, or The Tag Team Specialists have anything to say about the new blood rising throughout the company? And if they do, could we see the already tense situation in TCW erupt into all-out war between veterans and rookies? All of these questions remain to be answered as TCW moves ahead into 2011.

well done on a very well executed game. Its posts like these that make this thread a must read.

I'm playing as a created cult fed in the U.S. and Dan Stone retired and is leaving the business. Jeremy Stone takes over as the new owner and he hires Mito Miwa as his head booker.

this happend in one of my games once before, apparently its a bug.

There's a rare bug where that happens from time to time. As he's the first guy in the database then any time the head booker thing goes wrong he will take over. If you can then you should try to restore your game to the previous Sunday, as it often doesn't repeat itself and you'll get someone who is actually eligible to be booker take over instead. :)

So...

I love Nate Johnson and Bobby Thomas (currently together as "Gurren Lagaan" using "Precision Driller" as the finisher; thanks Phantom Stranger).

Problem: they're the (main event) tag champs.

With 95+ momentum.

And 98 pop across Canada.

...

I can't have them lose, yet...no one else can get ridiculously over as they have.

*sigh*

~~

On the note of popularity, I keep bouncing guys between high 80s and mid-90s. Granted, yes, that's from losses and the like, but it's amusing/bothersome.

OH! Jack DeColt is now better than Steve DeColt! Jack has 83 psych to Steve's 80. If Jack gets light green Brawling, it's a no contest.

Surprised you didn't name the finisher "Pierce the Heavens Manly Duo Lagan IMPACT!"

In my PSW non-diary game, Idaho Punisher is retiring very soon. He announced it on one of my off months (I do bimonthly touring sched to keep in the black financially) but right at the tail end giving me ample time to find a replacement.

Monday wk 1 on the next month and I found his replacement... the man who will take the Punisher's place...

"The Iconoclast" Matt Faith!

Yep, I got Matty Faith and turning him into a heel who believes he's already better than "The Fossils", including his own father. Still a few 40+ workers for him to fued with after he's done with Punisher. I also plan on making him part of a stable called The Heretics.

Don't you mean call a match? Scripting is usually done as a crutch for guys who can't call...

No no no... He's a road agent. It's the old "This match had a tendency to drift" note.

Annoys the absolute piss out of me every time. I don't want to live in a world where Bret Hart can't script a match for two guys, quite honestly.

I also seriously dislike that when a match is slated to be called in the ring how it is apparently up to both to call the match. :\

You should be able to designate one member of the in-ring crew to call the majority of the match as it is in real life. It would also be cool if the referee had the ability to call the match. Lord knows I've seen that plenty of times before. (The indy fed I work with has one of the best ref's in the business and he frequently calls matches between younger guys. He is the guy who pretty much taught TNA ref Rudy Charles all he knows before he went to TNA when they used to run around here in Southern Indiana.)

You're misunderstanding what's going on. Bret's skills are being used but just because he says something doesn't mean the guys in the ring can follow it perfectly. He can script a match as best he can but psychology is still about working the crowd and being able to get them to react... which is where the actual performers themselves come into play. If they can't react to the crowd's responses (by not having the psychology themselves) even a scripted match will lose a little flow. No-one can plan out a perfect match before a show, every match has an element of improvisation in it. In TEW terms...

Bret might have 100 psychology. Two guys he's scripting a match for might have 50 psych each. Even if Bret gives them a perfect psychological match, it's still the 2 guys in the ring who are executing it. They don't know all the little things that go into making a match with 100 psychology, so it loses some of the little things... with the polish off, the match might not then be telling the story that Bret planned out and so the actual end result might only be a match with 70 psychology. But in dirt sheet terms, you don't see how big the minuses are. The only way to check for that is to actually test it yourself by running the same show with the various notes (none, call in ring, script) for various workers.

Some will do better depending on the level of workers involved, some will do worse. The only way to know for sure is to experiment to find out what works, because the bigger you get the better your crowd expects your workers to be.... and that isn't easy. Ever Bret Hart couldnt' get two spot monkeys to tell a great story, but he could make it a better match and if they listen to him for long enough they just might learn something from him. :)

EDIT: I do agree that it would probably be better to have the option of 1 person calling the match instead of everyone. Seems like Christian Faith should be able to walk Marat Khoklov through a match... and Robert Oxford doesn't need anyone to tell him how to wrestle, the man knows his stuff. :)

You only need one of the guys to have really good psychology (I think dependant upon size of promotion for exact figure, it's been discussed in the small questions thread), and the other worker just needs ok psychology. I'm no wrestler so I couldn't say for sure, but that seems realistic to me. No matter how good one guy is, if the other is blundering around awkwardly between spots and is completely reliant upon the one worker with good psychology, the match won't be as good as one between two workers with high psychology.

I had Tomko (52 psychology) in a match with The Rock (95 Psychology) and got the old "Tomko looks lost" note, and a noticeably lower match rating than it really should have gotten. (International size fed.)

If I were a theory tester I'd test it out, but I've developed a rule of thumb to not let a match be called in the ring unless there is at least 150 total psychology between both guys. (350 for a tag match)

I see what your trying to say about one worker calling in real life, but that rarely happens, and it usually only happens with guys who have been pushed into the business and just flat out don't get it. (And thank god that doesn't happen much anymore) I've seen it a time or two, but for the most part any guy who has been properly trained and has been a fan can keep from being a sore thumb in a match between spots that have been called to him. He may not be perfect, but it doesn't drag the match down much at all.

Playing as WCW in BurningHamster's awesome 1996 mod.

First I fired a TON of workers and hired a lot of future stars. Used the editor to make sure I could do the nWo story the way I want to do.

Starts out the same way. Hall sitting in the crowd and then begins hyping Nash. Then Nash and Hall hype the third man. Third man is still Hogan. Its the members that join after Hogan that are different. Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. Sting is going to still go Crow Sting and feud with Hogan as the savior of WCW. Eventually Hart will turn face and team up with Sting.

Just a small update with my MSWA game I am currently in September of 2034 and I will most likely do the September and October Shows tonight and then the November and December shows sometime on Friday. After that I will provide an update which will be my last for this game for a while as I want to try something different for a while. I am going to start a game with MAW because I haven't played as them in a while and I want to play another game as them. This doesn't mean that I am not going to do my MSWA game though, I will probably take a hiatus from it but after I complete 25 years it won't be dead just on a hiatus until I decide to come back to it which could be short or long depending on how my MAW game will go.
