You'd be perfect for WLW.

Ya know, I knew someone was gonna say that. Just knew it.

Maybe I will give them a crack. They've never intrigued me as much as they probably should, but... hey. At the very least, I bring in Bam Bam Johansson under a mask as the world's strongest Norwegian luchadore. Because he totally works in Japan.

is ROF basically Ring of Fire? I know their based in England but what happens if I start running shows in the tri state area and build them up there. I could techically make them an "American" promotion sort of like DGUSA right?

You mean Ring of Honor? Because you said ROF is Ring Of Fire... which... is true...

Well, they're still based in England... so you won't ever grow in size (in fact, you'll eventually fall to Local).

So unless you moved them in the editor, it'd be a truly awful idea.

Also, they're not identical to ROH. ROH tends to utilize more high flyers, while ROF is more about old school technical style wrestling. Still, similarities abound.

Sorry for the huge post but it's got a lot of explaining to do! :D

SWF Presents: The Supreme Challenge 30

Saturday, Week 2, July: In front of a mere 46,980 fans thanks to a bottoming out wrestling industry and a terrible economy to boot. Which is a shame, but next year’s should be on an upswing which ought to ensure an awesome rating for me. :D

Segment 1: A big PPV hype video plays, focussed largely on my main matches… but with added fictional hype from my pretend big name band and extra history of the event in general. This is the 30th Supreme Challenge, and it’s gonna be awesome! (rated 100)

Segment 2: The opening match of the night (covered in the opening video) is for the North American Championship, held by “Giant Killer” Gregory Black, who earned the moniker and his title shot after getting help from Christian Faith on how to beat big men. Black won it back in March from Brandon James after a distraction from Eric Eisen’s henchmen… and he’s been a fighting champ ever since. Recent rival Sammy Bach has produced some exciting matches in a tense rivalry, which has also dragged in Joseph Lewis Knighit (Joe Sexy) and Squeeky McClean. JLK has been trying to shake off his “flawed man” image but always falls victim to one of his vices, which is where Squeeky comes into things. Squeeky’s success encouraged JLK to side with him for a while but ultimately the pair were terrible together, costing each other title shots and arguing a lot. That led to this 4 way match for the title, culminating in Bach laying out Black… then JLK hitting Bach with the One Knight Stand. Squeeky feigned letting JLK get the pin but then quickly rolled him up and stole the North American title. Damn him! (rated 82)

Segment 3: A massive hype video plays to recap Lobster Warrior and Angry Gilmore’s feud and year so far. Gilmore’s aggression increased, leading to him defeating the Biggz Boyz in order to get his own wife back, bullying her and keeping her close to ensure his success… while taunting Lobster Warrior for his own failures, with Lobby losing many matches and being considered a joke by Gilmore. Lobster keeps pushing to succeed but Gilmore keeps winning, leading to Gilmore trying to rid the SWF of the stupid Lobster forever. Lobster, desperate to prove himself puts the mask on the line in a ladder match, goaded into it by Gilmore’s world experience and emphasis of the Mexican way of doing things… and in at the May PPV Gilmore defeats Lobster Warrior for the mask. One month passes until Welcome To The Jungle during which time Gilmore carries the mask with him as he prepares for the battle royale and a World title shot… only for Lobster to return in the battle royale and eliminate Gilmore (and himself). Lobster then spends weeks giving impassioned promos, using the name “Lobster Warrior” Chris Storm, where he hypes how much the mask has meant to his career. Has to have it back… puts his SWF career on the line against Gilmore, in an I Quit match. Gilmore accepts the challenge despite his wife’s protests that he doesn’t need to be like this… and that’s where we’re at. (rated 93)

Segment 4: In one of the greatest matches in the history of pro wrestling, Angry Gilmore and Lobster Warrior go 20+ minutes trying to make the other submit. Gilmore refuses to lose to the joke that is Lobster Warrior and Lobby refuses to give up on his SWF career. What follows is an epic battle as both men try to make the other give up, with the deadlock being broken when Jessie throws in the towel for Gilmore who refuses to give up despite being locked in a Lobster Trap (which I’m visualising as being a Crippler Crossface). Gilmore is furious… but Lobster wins back his mask, which he’ll be carrying around with him forever more, mostly so that the SWF can sell it as merchandise. (rated 97)

Segment 5: From one big match to another… Steve Frehley has been back from his year long injury for almost a year now, wrestling a couple of times a week on TV, PPV or house shows. He has been unbeatable and is in fact, unbeaten since his return, amassing a very convenient 99 wins against all comers since his return from injury. Steve Frehley, The Dark Destroyer, is the irresistable force. And standing opposite him is 7 feet, almost 500 pounds of muscle, intensity and aggression, “The Eastern Blockade” Marat Khoklov. Marat doesn’t just try to pin people, he tries to make sure they don’t get up again when he’s done with them and on the grandest stage of them all he has turned his attention to Frehley. Marat is the immovable object. And we all know what happens when an irresistable force meets an immovable object, right? Let the hype continue, as Frehley’s signature entrance video of a comet hurtling through space, destroying planets and stars alike begins to play… (rated 98)

Segment 6: It’s a hard hitting brawl that pushes both men to their very limits. It’s not often that Frehley meets someone stronger than him but there’s no-one on the planet stronger than Marat. After 16 minutes of hard hitting action, Frehley finally manages to get the giant on his shoulders and hit the Frehley’s Comet (F-5) to record his 100th straight win. Can anyone stop him? (rated 86)

Segment 7: A lengthy video recap of the history between Jack Bruce and Vengeance is played, highlighting their battles over the SWF World championship before delving into the recent return of Vengeance to the SWF after a lengthy absence. Lights had been going off on SWF shows with ominous warnings but no-one expected Vengeance to strike at the conclusion of Jack Bruce vs Marat at Welcome To The Jungle. Such was the ferocity of Vengeance’s attack that Jack had to forfeit his chance in the battle royale, btu he couldn’t get his hands on Vengeance, who would strike when the lights went out… Jack was choked out, bloodied, battered and bruised but he kept calling Vengeance out, finally catching him off guard with a hidden singapore cane that allowed him one shot at revenge… tonight, it gets settled once and for all! It’s SHOWTIME! (rated 99)

Segment 8: Ain’t no stopping these two from going at each other as they pick up at high pace and never let up. Unlike some of their title bouts this one didn’t go too long, finishing at the 15 minute mark when Jack Bruce manages to put the psychotic big man down for long enough with a New York Minute. After the match, the lights go out and when they come back on Vengeance is nowhere to be seen… and unlike other times when the lights have gone out, Jack Bruce isn’t left lying in a pool of his own blood. (rated 84)

Segment 9: Marc DuBois (with help from a video) hypes up his quest to defeat every SWF World Champion still active in the SWF on his way to becoming unarguably the best champion ever. Despite undertaking this challenge in January, DuBois has yet to get a win having challenged the likes of Jack Bruce, Steve Frehley, Christian Faith and Bruce The Giant… but he found Bruce’s weakness, his knees. By not only goading the giant into regular matches to wear him down, DuBois’ constant knee attacks have weakened the the giant, and tonight… he gets his first win on the biggest stage of them all! (rated 89)

Segment 10: In an open ended match, DuBois tries to force Bruce to tap early but the giant keeps getting to the ropes, forcing DuBois to change strategy as he works on every limb in order to stop Bruce getting to the ropes. Bruce uses his amazing power to fight back and dominate for lengthy periods but DuBois finally gets a knee bar on the giant and actually makes him submit, clean, in the middle of the ring. Holy crap! (rated 82)

Segement 11: (worst segment of the night) A tag history of the various people in the TLC tag title match is played. All kinds of big bumps are shown from Bumfhole ladder matches, Pain Alliance tables matches and Death Row hardcore matches… while Giedroyc and Valiant (with Hannah) get ready for action with a group photo to celebrate them making it to the Supreme Challenge as champions. (rated 69)

Segment 12: Valiant/Giedroyc, The Amazing Bumfholes, The Pain Alliance and Death Row (renamed to Mergers & Acquisitions since becoming Brandon James’ enforcers, should he need them) may not be the most popular people on the roster, even with Zimmy’s title shot at Eric at last month’s PPV… .but they can put on a hell of a match as the weapons come into play in this epic TLC match. Valiant and Giedroyc almost had the match won but the Pain Alliance started intimidating Hannah and both men threw themselves over the top ropes to save her from them. The Bumfholes innovated some daredevil stuff while both heel teams tried to eliminate everyone with anything they could get their hands on. Valiant almost had the belts won but was cut off by Big Smack Scott (who the crowd still hate) who almost climbed to the top, only to be destroyed off the ladder by a Death Sentence from Shady K and Knuckles, who were then free to climb to the top and win the SWF World Tag Team titles. (rated 84)

Segment 13: Christian Faith talks about having big time experience and the ability to be great. He knows Remo is awesome, one of the most devastatingly talented men who is now growing into one of the finest wrestlers in the world. Faith hypes the athleticism, ability to do anything anyone else can do and ruthless aggression…. But Faith has experience, he’s beaten everyone, he’s the standard bearer, the living legend, the icon and tonight, on the biggest stage of them all, he’s going to prove himself once again. Because he has faith… and he knows everyone else does too. (rated 99)

Segment 14: (most disappointing on the card) Given Faith’s performance skills and Remo’s top row I expected this to be one of the best matches on the entire card but something was lacking. Despite going for more than 20 minutes of hard hitting and intense action, neither man quite reached the level they should. Faith showed his legendary toughness by kicking out of the Destroyer, a rare sight! Remo allowed his frustration at not being able to finish off the legend to get to him, leading to Faith rallying back and eventually hitting the Leap Of Faith three times to give himself the victory. (rated 83)

Segment 15: A historical video package is shown, going as far back as the disputes over the North American championship between Rich Money and Eric Eisen. Eric blames Rich for the injury he suffered and that was one of the many reasons he used Rich as a pawn in his plot to destroy Jack Bruce and take the SWF World Championship for himself. Eric’s constant scheming, including removing board influence on Supreme TV and forcing Jerry Eisen off the show (being the start of SWF’s “B” show Uprising), along with his verbal abuse of veterans Enforcer Roberts and Runaway Train who he makes do his bidding are all played… tainted wins, regular tough matches for challengers, facing “weak” opponents… Eric’s done whatever it took to keep the belt. But he can’t stop the Welcome To The Jungle battle royale winner from challenging him, just as he couldn’t stop Jerry Eisen from creating the Golden Opportunity back in January after Eric himself submitted it as an idea almost a year earlier… after Christian Faith led the rebellion that saw almost the entire locker-room threaten to walk out on Eric’s show, Richard Eisen returned to TV to seize power once again… making matches as the locker-room became more chaotic and telling Eric that if he does anything to get disqualified that he WILL forfeit the SWF World Heavyweight championship. At the Supreme Challenge 30, there will be a winner as Eric Eisen faces off with Rich Money for the grandest prize of them all on the biggest stage in the world!

And to emphasis a point… Runaway Train and Enforcer Roberts scowl at Eric, telling him to go be the man tonight and prove he deserves to be World champion. Eric glares at them as he reminds everyone of his catchphrase of the last 7 months… “Eisens are bastards” (which incidentally, was what the diary of this game was going to be called before I lost my first 3 shows when my computer died. Lame!) (rated 100)

Segment 16: For 7 months Rich Money has been fighting to get revenge on Eric Eisen for using him in the feud with Jack Bruce… he’s had to fight off Jack Bruce, Christian Faith, Runaway Train, Enforcer Roberts, Marat Khoklov, Eric’s stranglehold of Supreme TV and everyone else who thinks they deserve a shot to get here, beating 29 other men in the battle royale to get here. The crowd were hot for the main event of the night, hating on Eric with a passion and rallying for Rich throughout the 22 minute fight as Eric tried everything to hold on to his precious belt. But try as he might, he couldn’t keep Rich down. Not with the Silver Spoon Shock (sleeperhold drop) or The Supremacy (stunner)… twice. Rich fought back and hit everything he had on Eric too, finally putting an end to Eric’s reign of terror with a Dollars From Heaven… which sparked actual dollars to fall from the sky in celebration as Rich was given the SWF World championship… (rated 85)

Segment 17: … and then Brandon James’ music hits. Three weeks ago during Faith’s rebellion he picked up a knee injury. 6 months ago he won the Golden Opportunity and a chance to challenge for the SWF World Championship whenever he wanted to. For months he extorted money from Eric Eisen, giving his word that he wouldn’t cash it in on Eric until the end of the year as long as Eric paid him. Emma comes out with the case as an exhausted Rich Money looks on… and then Brandon stalks out from the back, ready to fight, bouncing from foot to foot to show that he isn’t injured. The wrestling world cries a little on the inside… (rated 100)

Segment 18: And it’s on. Brandon James has spent months waiting for this moment, making a lot of money in the process and over the last few weeks he’s ensured that he’s at full strength by feigning injury. Rich, knowing that he’s just come from a war tries to go as slowly as possible, avoiding making any mistakes and relying on adrenaline to help him through Brandon’s powerful offense and to make dents in his near indestructible aura. But less than 30 minutes after winning the SWF World Heavyweight championship for the first time and Rich once again finds his dreams of glory dashed, as Brandon unleashes two Big Money Moves (POUNCE!) on Rich, crushing him completely. With the show coming to a close, Brandon picks up some stray dollars from ringside and throws them at Rich Money as if they are nothing, celebrating with the belt as the show ends. (rated 94)

OVERALL RATING: 94

I’ve been looking forward to this show for soooo long and was so happy that it came out as well as it did. Even with some disappointing matches in there the show was my highest rated yet and I’d been working towards this moment for months of real life. I’ve also not talked about my game much on the forums cos I really wanted to get to this point before I did. I might even post the save file even though it’s only 6 and a half months in, but it’s quite some game I’ve got going thanks to some international dojos and development terriroties I opened. All in all… I’m very happy about this event, my WORST matches were rated 82/B and I think I’d be extremely happy to watch a card like this given the build towards it.

And now… the fallout. Like Eric NOT getting a rematch cos Rich is no longer champion, Big Money Inc having the World titles in it’s grasp, Enforcer/Train getting more angry at Eric Eisen, the tag titles heating up more, Uprising gaining more prominence as Richard Eisen looks to integrate it properly, perhaps making it a brand in it’s own right (maybe not though) and all kinds of fun beyond that. Yay!

Segment 9: Marc DuBois (with help from a video) hypes up his quest to defeat every SWF World Champion still active in the SWF on his way to becoming unarguably the best champion ever. Love the idea of beating all other champions, I may have to steal it for my (private) USPW Game.

In May of 1979 (with my APWF game), I just saw a most disturbing news article:

HWA are in debt :(

I blame SWF... and the dwindling Economy. And probably the fact that they can't get any sponsors and the vast majority of wrestling fans despise their product. It's just a no-win situation for them, I guess. On the plus side... it'll mean I can bring in Krooked Kop Kyle if I wanted to!

Yay!

Love this recap. I have a current game that I turned into my first ever diary where Supreme Challenge ended in a similar fashion..except it was Remo to cash in on Money.

Great stuff.

It does give the holder the advantage. But it just be nice to see them get creative with how it is used. A pure babyface might choose to do the "honorable thing" and use it arrange a proper match. A manipulative champion might find a way to get the holder to cash it when they aren't that vulnerable. Its just the same thing over and over... and I dont' think that's necessary...</p>

To be honest, I hate the MITB. The first two or three times it was great, with the first being awesome, but it has really, as you say, been over-used. The execution has been more than lame, and now that it is 2 times a year.. That is why I never use it in any of my games, and why it makes me a sad panda when someone uses it. Also, I disapprove Rumbles <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>So I just finished an international show, and I look at the stories. It says "Viper Rising Star" and I see a story about how my promotion is supposedly preparing a big push for him.</p><p> </p><p>

This is one of my jobbers. A jobber who got busted for hard drugs in the first month of the game. Yeah.</p><p> </p><p>

*facepalm*</p>
